Hello! We are a family of five who live in the country side of the Wairarapa. Our three children are aged 15,13 and 10. We live 20 minutes from the main town Masterton. We live on a small farm, with 35 acres of land that have sheep and cows on them. We have recently finished a cottage which consists of a main en-suite bedroom with a bathroom and small walk in wardrobe. The room has two king single beds. In the lounge area there is a couch/sofa bed which is a double bed. There is a deck outside the lounge. You have the choice of having dinner with us or making your own dinner, (either way all food for three meals per day will be provided). We have many jobs that
need doing such as feeding our cows hay, painting, fencing, chain sawing, washing windows, and gardening etc. We are happy to pick you up from the train station, if need be. No smokers please.

PLEASE GET IN CONTACT WITH US IF YOU CAN DO FENCING OR CHAINSAWING!

We would really love some helpers during the holidays... more inside

Hello,

I am not currently looking for helpers.

I am Shelley, a working mum, and I live with my cheeky little 14 month old boy, and two boarders in urban Masterton. I have done a bit of travelling myself, and look forward to the opportunity to welcome travelers into my home as others have done for me.

I can offer a room in my house, and use of a shared bathroom, and unlimited wifi. There is a bicycle available and possibly a car (for someone who can drive a manual and has the relevant licence). However, I am happy to collect helpers from the train station, so no self-transport is required.

The environment here would suit a younger person. In our house we have a fun and social environment.

In return for accommodation/food, I would expect 2-4 hours work a day however I am flexible with sightseeing and travel plans. There is always plenty to be done here, including gardening, cleaning, cooking, and general housework.

Please note this is a drug-free property, althoug... more inside

This area is well known for its scenic tramps, rivers and bush walks. We have recently relocated and renovated an old villa on the site, on a quiet road surrounded by picturesque farmland. We have a lifestyle block in the sunny Manawatu, about 15 minutes from the city of Palmerston North, with a park-like garden. We have a variety of projects that that can be fun to help with. Right now we would love some help with building a beautiful barn by someone with carpentry or joinery skills. Other jobs include the vege garden, stacking firewood, building paths, and general garden work.

We also like to have help inside with housework, cleaning and cooking - we love good food! For guests with specific skills, we can usually make a project to suit the person. Working hours vary according to what is going on, what the weather is like, and such - we are not slaves to the clock.

Both of us work from home and so we are generally around, and we like to interact with travelers who come and stay with us. The bedroom is comfortable and the bed is cosy. We prefer non-smokers. We look forward to hearing from you.

We encourage visitors who want to experience real farming life and true kiwi hospitality to stay for a minimum of 4 days . We offer accomodation and all meals in exchange for a keen willingness to experience our culture and lifestyle and contribute to general help in our home and on our sheep and dairy support property. No experience necessary but a positive," can do ", attitude is all you need.
We are well travelled ourselves and have experienced wonderful hospitality in many parts of the world and look forward to reciprocating some of the hospitality we have been given.
