Gardening in Waikawa, Picton and explore the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

We are a couple with cat and dog who moved to Waikawa, Marlborough Sounds in 2015. We have a 36 foot launch and love to get away to explore the Marlborough Sounds.

The Marlborough Sounds in summer is warm and in winter is lovely, no wind and generally perfect days. Come and explore the Marlborough Sounds with free accommodation (your own room and separate bathroom) and food. We are a few minutes walk from Waikawa Bay and have a bike for your use.

We are planting natives in an area in Waikawa and need help doing this. The work involved is weeding, cutting back and planting natives. The work is physical and you will need to use gardening tools and your muscles. Our preferred length of stay is a week with 4-5 hours work per day, 5 days per week. House work may be an option if its raining hard.

The photos include some from before we started in 2015 through to natives growing well in 2018.

Hello Traveller!
We are located in Endeavour Inlet, right on the Queen Charlotte Track in Marlborough, where there are no roads and no cars. If you enjoy nature you will love our slice of paradise. We are surrounded by native forest and pristine bays with clear water. You can arrive via water taxi (departing from Picton) or walk the Queen Charlotte Track to reach us.

We are keen to host a mature, independent individual (one person), prepared to work 4 hrs in the morning helping in the garden and with other odd jobs. The rest of the day is yours to explore the surroundings. You can kayak, walk parts of the Queen Charlotte Track or just relax. You will have your own bedroom either in the house with access to wifi, or a separate cosy hut that is separate from the house. We have a small organic garden and much of our meat is also organic (locally caught venison).

We support the local Endeavour Inlet Conservation Trust - see the Facebook page link for more info.

This is a small non-commercial lodge accessible by boat (pick-up at Portage possible) or by walking (30-60 minutes) from nearest road point with parking. The whole property, located on the end of a peninsula in the middle of Kenepuru Sound, is a nature reserve, - native bush (forest) preserved in perpetuity under a QE2 Trust covenant. I'm seeking to encourage (1) the regeneration of the trees and forest fauna by activities like transplanting seedlings, weed & pest control, (2) the appreciation of our bush (forest) via a network of walking tracks (with selective labelling), & (3) appreciation of the possibilities for (comfortable) sustainable, self-sufficient, low-footprint living, with solar electricity & hot water, composting toilets, roof-collected water, & home-grown vegetables, fruit & sea food. Great opportunities for swimming, fishing, kayaking, tramping (hiking) & photography. More than half the property boundary is sea-shore. Help required with a variety of (mainly outside) ... more inside

We are on a small farm with sheep and cattle, chooks, dogs and 2 horses. There is also a large variety of bird life as the farm borders Lake Elterwater. We are 6km from the sea, very close to State Highway 1, and 3km from the township of Ward which has a café/post office. We are just 1 hour from Picton to the north and Kaikoura to the south. The local coastline is rugged and scenic, and there are good walks in the nearby hills. We would welcome some help with a variety of work on the farm and in the garden. We have a fencing project on at the moment.

We have rented out our accommodation for winter so won’t be available again until next Summer.

We are a couple in our 30's with a 12 ha property full of gum trees and an assortment of animals! We're 10 minutes from Blenheim, 2 minutes from Renwick. We are looking for fit and energetic people to help with the property; jobs will involve tree work (chainsaw experience would be great but not a necessity), burning, animal work, building projects and painting. We offer a quaint straw bale studio, perfect for a couple. In exchange for great accommodation and food allowances we'd love 4 hours of work a day. We will mainly be leaving you to your own devices as we have a young family.

We are a young farming couple in our early 30's with 3 kids aged 7,6 and 4.

The property is located 40 minutes south of Blenheim near a little country town called ward. It is just under 2000ha of beautiful coastal land, with some amazing scenery.

We are looking for people that are willing to get stuck in and get jobs done, with the willingness to explore our beautiful area of New Zealand.

Occasionally I need some help in the garden. Or maybe windows, hedge trimming. Not high hedges.
I live about 3k out of the town of Blenheim, but there are shops closer. It feels like a semi rural area, with a vineyard over the fence. But it is walking ( about 15 minutes) and biking distance to shops and the town.
At present I have no animals.
There is a pool, spa pool, bikes, and free wifi.
Couples or two friends welcome.
Accommodation is in a 9 year old modern house.
Comfortable queen bed. Own shower and toilet.
No smokers please.
Please email me with your skills and experience.
