I have experience in backpacker and woofer hosting, and live two minutes by car out of Akaroa, which is a beautiful township with many tourist attractions like dolphins, water skiing, etc. Transport from Christchurch is one and a quarter hour by car, or catch the bus and it will stop at our gate.

My house is on 3 acres, which I am slowly developing in an organic manner. As long as you like the simple life this could be for you, if you are willing to use your skills whether they be gathering fruits, gardening, fond of dogs, cooking your own meals if I am not at home, I would be pleased to have your company.

We are looking for passionate people who enjoy creating harmonious relationships among people and the earth. Come and join us working in our bio dynamic vegetable gardens, orchard and compost area. Help prepare or process food, make firewood, plant native trees or help with building projects like caravan and yurt restoration. Beach, mountains, ferry to town close. Long-term stays preferred.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is a beautiful piece of land in Purau Bay, near Diamond Harbour, and we organise about 5 acres of it. We are 40 min away from Christchurch by car or 30 min by ferry and public bus service.
For 150 years the land has been a Eucalyptus forest but part of it has now been transformed to organic vegetable gardens, orchards and pasture. Buildings and services comply with organic principles (eg. natural building materials like strawbale and wood, greywater recycling, solar heating, composting).
We are Mareile and Nirdosh and feel to be stewards of the land. We are in a proc... more inside

Large family home on a large section with vegetable garden
1 dog , 1 cat, 2 chickens
we are looking for 2 persons that are happy to give the dog a good walk and make sure the other animals are fed and watered. Some light house work and also preparing dinner during the week would be appreciated. The property offers heaps of other odd jobs, weather and time permitting. we would think 2-3 hours /day should cover the main jobs.
The host "mother" has a busy but irregular schedule and might be overseas too, host "dad" will be at work in a very busy job during the day, so there will not be much of "entertainment",( for that reason it would be more suitable for 2 people ) but we do offer a large double bedroom, your own bathroom with a shower and free wi-fi,
the location is great for exploring Christchurch, Banks Peninsula and surroundings, the ferry is 15 min walk away and a connecting bus takes you straight into CBD.

we are looking for a guy(s), girl(s) or a couple for 'free farm stay'. Although we have sold our farm, we still lease some 500 acres. we now live in Akaroa in a house with a view to die for!!!Live in our home as part of the family. Prefer reasonable English spoken. We enjoy sport and have a beer or wine in the evenings. We have over a hundred people staying with us over the last few years and lots have stayed a longer rather than a shorter time. Looking forward to meeting some more happy travelers.
