We are wildlife carers and musicians in our 60's building our natural stone home on our beautiful property. We grow our own blueberries and make liqueur.

We are seeking help to BUILD our home, seeking easygoing, skilled carpenters, builders or tradesperson to help. We require helpers with building or plastering skills to help fit out the interior of our home. It is a unique, stone home that we have built by hand over the past 10 years.

We will provide clean accommodation that is separate to our main home, that has it's own shower and toilet and will provide vegetarian lunch and dinner.

We have beautiful bush to roam in, a huge deep lake to swim in, canoes, and wildlife to enjoy as we care for injured animals. We are in a very peaceful area away from noise, in a town called Merton, which is on route to Mansfield and Mt Buller snowfields.

There is a bus service from Melbourne to Merton , we can pick you up at the Merton store.

*December Update! Videographers, Photographers, writers and graphic designers wanted. Carpenters + Tradies wanted anytime.
Gardenfarm is a beautiful Eden-like farm, designed as a Permaculture ecosystem, with a strong Japanese influence. Its in a glorious valley setting, with animals wandering happily, food forests and rivers, visitor cabins, and lots of thinking and action on how we can make a this world and life wonderful.

I'm looking for self-directing, observant and thoughtful travellers, over 26 years old, to work on creating a place people love to be in too.

Over Chrismas, we will be making a rammed earth floor in the sunroom-greenhouse.
Work includes carpentry, renovating the cabins, planting and looking after edible gardens, designing and creating clever passive watering systems.
If you like, you can also help Farmer Bob look after chickens, sheep, cows, and garden, and turning the produce into wonderful pies, quince paste, and more, for sale.

Currently looking for Helpers

Prefer Helpers over 25 ( non smokers )

Hi my name is Anthony and I live in Red Hill which is located on the Mornington Penninsula just over an hour (by road) from Melbourne. Rolling hills dotted with vineyards and surrounded by the sea, this region is one of Melbournian's most popular "weekend getaway" destinations.

Wake up to the singing birds in a log cabin set amongst the tree tops, borded by an organic apple orchard and fringed by forest. Home to friendly and colourful native bird life and visited by a family of cheeky possums each night. Lovely walks to restaurants, markets and our general store.

I have too many projects to handle by myself as I care for my 9 year old most weekends and some nights during the week.

The projects are varied and include; clearing vegetation, maintaining the organic vegetable garden, planting native trees and shrubs, splitting wood (by machine), building a wood fired oven, setting up chicken coup, pai... more inside

We need help with preparing vegetable gardens ( market gardens) for summer and autumn planting, weeding, making beds and mulching. Doing it in a group would be fun!!

We currently have two other helpers- a farmer from Israel who has been here for a month. She will leave in a few weeks. A French helper is also here mostly helping in the house. She is keen to learn English, so we would prefer not to have another French helper at the moment.
We also have friends who come each weekend to help on the farm with gathering wood and building .

We live on a farm which provides a great deal of our food. We always have meat ( chicken, pork, beef, lamb) in the freezer and eggs ( duck , guinea fowl, pheasant, hen) and goat milk. We also grow vegetables.

We have fabulous food every day - Thai curries, pizzas, roasts, stews. There is always a LOT of food. We make our own beer and wine and ginger beer and lemonade . We make jams and pickles and cheese and butter.

We do not take vege... more inside
