We have a 26 acre farm, 2.5km from the centre of Beechworth. We eat seasonally from our garden which provides us with most of our vegetables and eggs. We practice the Australian Demeter Biodynamic Method. Our current home garden has been influenced by Linda Woodrow's "The Permaculture Home Garden". This summer we plan to sell seedlings and vegetables. We will be building a strawbale round guesthouse in Summer 2018. We will also be working to set up a market garden that will be approximately 2 acres in size.

Help needed includes all aspects of vegetable growing (preparing beds, sowing seeds, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, preserving and seed saving) and general farm work (eg fencing, setting up and maintaining irrigation and infrastructure). We have 2 creeks from which we are currently removing blackberries and weeds. If interested and skilled, we would also like help with building the strawbale house and yurt with living roofs. As we are establishing a working farm, some wo... more inside

Homestay and Beach Cottage Accomodation Seeking Helpers All Year Round!

Location: Melbourne, Lorne, Victoria, Australia

Dear helpers, in 2017 i participated in a help exchange trip in Japan to help restore an old Japanese house with recycled materials. There i learnt patience, community support and emmence kindness from the local people. It was truely a great experience.

I wish to continue this exchange in Melbourne and invite people to help run and maintain my guest-home properties. The Melbourne property is about 20minutes train ride from the city and the beach property is in Lorne which is along the Great Ocean road.

Both houses are extremely cosy and great to live in. The Lorne house is rare since it was constructed using similar materials to the surrounding piers and bridges. Both properties requires help with gardening, cleaning, changing linen and general maintenance work like sanding and oiling the furniture and decks. In winter we require helpers to chop wood a... more inside

We are a mature couple working from home and are looking to find a young and enthusiastic young man who can help with general garden maintenance, eg weeding, spraying blackberries and wood splitting etc.
In return, we are offering a private room and own bathroom in our lovely home and meals.( Free wi fi is also available.)
We are in a quiet and secluded bush setting, but only 3km from the main highway and station.
It would be an advantage to have an international driver`s licence and a MUST to be a dog lover! (We have 2 !)
This would be an excellent opportunity for a traveller requiring 2 weeks of accommodation, possibly longer.
We are DEFINITELY a NON SMOKING household, and would prefer not to cater for vegetarians only.
This position is available immediately, so please contact us if you feel it suits you.

Our home is tucked into the Toolangi forest. Surrounded in tall eukalyptus trees. The property has a chicken coupe, vegetable gardens, wondering pathways with flowering beds as well as open grass areas. It is very relaxing here. In the house we have Kathleen (me), A 2 and a half year old. This is a family home, we eat all foods, including meat. We also get water from a local spring. I'm needing some help with maintaining the gardgens on the property, which includes: weeding, black berry maintinance, wood collecting, watering, planting, and wipper-snippering, but especially with my vegetable garden. Also some help co creating some ideas I have had around the garden, including awsome kids space, I would love some ideas sharing on that. If you have knowledge in gardening, composting, permaculture then a big yay :) from us. Please come teach us. We also have an elderly lady next door who I help if she needs.
I am always excited to show people our surrounding forests. We have many be... more inside

We are a family of three living on 1/2 an acre and surrounded by bushland, rainforest and wineries - it is an incredible area. We have an organic vegetable garden and currently building a native garden. We are a well traveled family, musical, sustainable and creative.

We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help with our 3 yr old son and gardening.

Our son is a very friendly, relaxed toddler who loves to play outdoors. Work would include playing with our son from 8am - 1pm whilst I work from home, and on other days a little bit of gardening (watering, weeding, planting, shoveling).

We eat organic vegetarian meals and have a cat who is shy and just sleeps all day. There are lots of native animals in the area - you will see kookaburras, parrots, wombats, kangaroos, galahs, cockatoos.

We live in a four bedroom house to which you would have your own bedroom and share bathroom. You can ride our bikes, access to a car, and we would love to show you around the area with bushwal... more inside
