We are a young family living in Drummond in the Central Highlands of Victoria. We have three small children (9-12yrs old), a couple of cats, a flock of chickens, bees and all the wildlife you can imagine! We live in a beautiful handmade stone house nestled in a beautiful tranquil valley.

We are located 1 hour 20 minutes by car from the centre of Melbourne. Or 1 hour 30 minutes by train from Malmsbury Train Station which is 7.3km from our house. Our home is perfectly situated in the heart of the region and a short drive to explore centres such as Kyneton, Daylesford/Hepburn Springs, Castlemaine, Trentham and our closest town of Malmsbury. Nature lovers will enjoy the state forest at the end of our... more inside

The weather is getting better now, and we are looking forward to sun-shiny days. We are looking for people who enjoy being outdoors and want to learn how to build an earth house with simple materials. We're building a house near Daylesford, Victoria. We are 10 minutes drive from Daylesford (natural spa and tourism region of Victoria). It is a friendly little village and we are building on 1 acre, next door to an lovely organic farm and 3 minutes walk from a general store that makes superb lunches/coffee. Rural, but not remote. We live in a neighbouring rental house with a spare room (double bed), plus lots of yard space for a campervan if that is your mode of travel. Right now we would love some help with gardening and cooking. And if you are willing to help with carpentry - mainly helping nail/screw framing timber, battens and that sort of thing, that would be excellent... We are a relaxed couple with a cat. Do get in touch!

We have helpers most of the time here but at present we do not have any. Several have just gone travelling.

WHAT DO YOU GET FROM HELPING HERE AND SHOWING THAT YOU ARE A GOOD WORKER????? YOU get a REFERENCE from us , which is an AUSTRALIAN reference and will lead to LOTS of other paid work-whether you are planning on staying for good in Australia or simply working your way around as a tourist.

BUT... We NO LONGER TAKE HELPERS WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND FARM LIFE. You can't learn farming in a week, so if you have experience with rural living OUTDOORS then we would like to hear from you.

We live on a farm which provides a great deal of our food. We always have meat ( chicken, pork, beef, lamb) in the freezer and eggs ( duck , guinea fowl, pheasant, hen) and goat milk. We also grow vegetables.

We have fabulous food every day - Thai curries, pizzas, roasts, stews. There is always a LOT of food. We make our own beer and wine and ginger beer and lemonade . We make jams and pic... more inside

As a young family we moved into this beautiful property about a year ago. Our dream is to be self-sufficient while being able to respect and protect the native eco-system that Australian bush has to offer. We are learning as we go the principles of permaculture. We are trying to use native plants as much as possible. We are hoping to reach one day zero waste.

We are looking for one or two volunteers at a time to help in our garden and veggie patch using permaculture and bio-dynamic principles, looking after fruit trees (pruning, picking). We will from time to time need some... more inside

We need someone to give us a hand with the up coming harvest! It will be a very short harvest this year due to the dry drought conditions. Just looking for an extra set of hands at times, no heavy work involved. A drivers licence would be an advantage. We would pay the travel costs to the farm from anywhere for a suitable person.
We run a wheat and sheep farm in north Victoria, close to the fruit growing towns of Cobram & Shepparton. Free camping or stay in the farm house. 125 Ha of crops are grown on the farm and about 600 sheep and 2 Alpacas,(plus chickens, dog and cat) plus native possums, and the occasional

Volunteer project Gippsland Victoria, Permaculture farm Eco Village

I want to create a community where people can live, grow their own food, do their own thing while looking after the environment and the community, be artistic and inventive, learn from each other and teach yet others again.
My permaculture farm, nature reserve and timber plantation is located 200km east of Melbourne in Gippsland,
The landscape is kind of like ‘lord of the rings’ story environment. It’s called a cold temperate rainforest. It is totally remote, stretching over several mountains and valleys with clean drinking water, native forest with massive centuries old trees (no pesticides ever been used to my knowledge). Cliffs, bridges, creeks, waterfalls, some old growth forest, fern trees, abundant wildlife etc. I guess you get the picture. We have a lot of rainfall so stuff never stops growing. But it gets cold in winter (regular frost overnight).
I want to find like minded people (there are three of u... more inside
