Acreage /Hobby Farm at the junction of the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale wine regions.

Our hobby farm includes a big organic vegetable garden, chickens, cows, a friendly dog and two fat lazy cats. On the property you will also see Kangaroos, Koalas and all sorts of bird life.

Our setup is ideal for couples with their own transport, as public transport is not easy to access from our home. Adelaide is only 40 minutes drive. Alternatively, we could pick you up from the airport, then drop you to a local bus stop when required.

Helpers will help in the maintaining and developing of the property and garden and may be required to assist with cooking, housework and animal care.

Your accommodation is our self-contained, separate, air-conditioned accommodation suitable for an individual or couple. It's a comfortable converted shed and totally separate from the main house - see the attached pictures. Double bed, TV, Kitchenette, separate bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

we have a unique situation, that requires a unique helper or helpers.Ideally a couple or two friends.
We operate a farming property 60km south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Close to beaches, towns and wineries.
We need our helpers to be very independent as we are not always home. Nick 30 works away a few nights per week about 2 hours from our home, and sammy 29 works away for a week at a time and then is home for a week. Our helpers will be in charge of caring for our chickens, gardens, vegetable patch cleaning and other odd jobs. We require 4 hours each day helpx work, 5 days per week in return for food and accommodation or 2 hours each day 5 days per week just for accommodation and you supply your own meals. Our property works best for independent helpers who may be wanting paid work in the local area, as you can work in the local towns, and live with us for helpx. a little like a housemate or house sitter. Nick and I leave a list of the jobs we need completed each da... more inside

Our historic property is not a commercial enterprise but rather a hobby farm where we live, play and grow food for ourselves. We take an organic approach to the land and follow permaculture principles. We love where we live and like to share it with others. Our house is clean and spacious and we eat very well. Tasks would include general garden maintanence, establishing garden and veggie beds, animal care, assistance with small building projects and so on.

We have a 20 acre farm in the beautiful Adelaide Hills at Lenswood in SA. We have an assortment of friendly animals with amazing personalities. Life is laid back and enjoyable as we are surrounded by koalas and kangaroos etc. Our property is on the edge of a little township which is close to lots of tourist attractions and we have lots of walking and hiking trails nearby. We require some help around the farm with animal care, landscaping, gardening, renovations and general farm duties. No experience is necessary but just a willingness to help us would be great. We are both well travelled so really enjoy talking with other fellow travellers. The township of Lenswood is the apple producer for Australia and is surrounded by wineries, orchards and a 15 minute drive to the lovely tourist township of Hahndorf. The city centre of Adelaide is approx a 40 minute drive away. All meals cooked and prepared for you along with a lovely morning tea and accommodation provided for help with the ... more inside

We joined HelpX partly because we appreciate help in maintaining our farm but mainly because we enjoy good company and conversation.
Our Rosebank Farm is a "lifestyle farm" and has Heritage listed swamp, spring fed wetlands with trout and yabbies, native bushland, kangaroos, native water rats and native bush rats, echidna and extensive birdlife.
We are situated south of Adelaide in the McLaren Vale wine district and in the heart of bike riding territory (Willunga Hill, Tour Down Under, etc.). It is also a popular area for amateur cyclists and we are able to provide bikes if helpers would like to cycle and explore the district.
Our setup is ideal for couples with their own transport, as public transport is not easy to access and our district has many attractions, vineyards, food and wine, hills, beaches and whales (in the right season) and Adelaide is only 45 minutes drive.
Some Helpers have visited us first and arranged to purchase a vehicle while they were here.
We can delive... more inside

We are the Dunn's and we own a 1500 acres or 600 hectares farm. We filled up that space with sheep, 1 pony, different breeds of chicken, sheep dogs and many birds nesting in our garden.
Kangaroos, Koala and Possums are also well known guests.

12 kilometers from Vivonne Bay, fishing and swimming, or 7 kilometers to little Sahara where u can go riding the sand dunes with one of our boards at a cost these days !!!

Work would be as needed and includes:
-feeding animals
-giving a hand with farm work when needed
-home duties
-gardening and pruning, raking etc

Your accommodation would be either in our house or in a studio beside the shearing shed. We look forward to meeting you.

Cheers
Leon and Jenny

I am a chap who immigrated from Austria some 28 years ago. My wife is from Sri Lanka. I have been mining and cutting Opal at Coober Pedy for the last 26 years, as well as doing other paid jobs along the way.
I am interested in people which are tough and like hard work such as building Rock Walls, helping with tiling, rendering/ woodwork, mechanics and also going out to the fields to mine for Opal.I also speak German, of course.

Right now I am also interested in people to clean my B+B Accommodation on a daily base.

This place has always been the last frontier and can be rough for people used to a sheltered city-live, but we always treat people fair and square. We like to be treated the same.
If you are scared of work or don't like adventure please do not apply and waste both our time, thanks.

We are not the usual type of help-X hosts.
There is only ONE meal which will be very good and lots, but usually late, Sometimes at 10 PM.

There is tea and coffee,milk,cor... more inside

Hi,

We are looking for 1-4 backpackers to help with general household duties, help with our two young children, and help renovating our 150 year old home, in exchange for free accommodation.

We are located 2 hours North of Adelaide in the Mid North region of South Australia. Burra is a lovely old mining town full of history and beautiful scenery. We have some lovely cafes, 4 pubs and a population of around 1500 people. Burra has all the conveniences you should need with a supermarket, post office, chemist, newsagency and more.

You would need to give us up to 4 hours work, per day, for the free accommodation and food, or we could arrange 3 hours work for accommodation only, and you would need to provide your own food. It wouldn't be hard work, and we would be very flexible as to when you choose to do the duties.

We have two separate spare rooms, both with queen beds, or we have a very comfortable caravan with a a double and a single bed, you can choose where you'd pref... more inside
