Hi I am looking for a HelpX to start at the end of August. I have had some fabulous Helpx over the summer and am looking for someone now who can help me build fences and sheds so good DIYabilities would be great!

I own and run a schools hatching programme using eggs from my champion rare breed hens. The chicks come back to my 6 acre smallholding with fabulous views on the northern edge of Sheffield and the Peak District. I run this with my three children aged 20, 18 and 11. We also have rare breed sheep and goats, three horses, four dogs, two cats and two turkeys - so lots of interesting animals! You will need to love animals here!

VERY IMPORTANT:.....I would like someone who has initiative and can work from a list and be self motivated! I cannot always work with you on the smaller jobs once you have been shown them. Also someone who is used to animals and wishes to learn more about their husbandry.

I would like someone to do help out with daily jobs looking after the liv... more inside

We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people from all over the world, many of whom we still keep in touch with.

We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables.

We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible.

Our house has solar panels on the roof for water and electricity as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment.

The work includes turning and spreading compost, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting.

From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (in a double bed/own bathroom) in return for a helping hand, usually around 4-5 hours a day... more inside

We will be hosting Helpx again in 2019 from Spring to Autumn and we offer a double room with en-suite bathroom, plus meals, for 20 hours manual work per person per week, based on working 9.00 to 13.00 five days, so this will best suit robust individuals! We have about an acre of ground at home, plus we have another acre and a half 10 mins walk away. We especially enjoy gardening, both flowers and vegetables. We welcome help with garden work, such as outdoor painting, weeding, and mending. The work will often involve active jobs, e.g. cutting brambles and wood, moving manure, digging etc, so you need a reasonable level of mobility/fitness, and it is helpful (but not at all essential) if you are willing to use power tools, such as strimmer and mower! If you would like to join us for a while you will need working clothes and suitable outdoor working footwear, as we still work if the rain is not too heavy! However, if the weather is too bad to work outdoors, ordinary domestic jobs su... more inside

We are a couple from Cornwall who are helping to run the family's small holding. We are fun loving, hard working individuals who are enjoying implementing Permaculture designed buildings, allotment, polytunnel, animal areas, forest garden and ponds. We have a large variety of projects on the go from building sheds to 12v solar/wind systems and rocket mass heaters to apple tree guilds. We are interested in planting edible/medicinal plants and already have some on the go ready to harvest for tintures! Our work varies between building, gardening, animals and holiday lets. Exciting :)
Nick normally works full-time at home finishing and experimenting with new ideas whilst Rosie works full-time as a primary school teacher.
Nicks family also live at home, so there's always lots going on and we often eat communally :)

Accommodation is in a cosy caravan with a beautiful view, surrounded by trees.
Our key aim is to put projects in place and then educate about the many benefits of l... more inside

Hello Helpxers,

I am looking for one or two people to start sometime in September and stay till the middle of October. The main reason is that my partner and I run Airbnb from home and we will be moving around a bit so I would like to guarantee that someone will be here to get the room ready for the next guests. Depending on the length of people's stay and whether Iím here you will probably be able to travel a bit too.

I am also looking for some help in the house and garden. Iím coming to the end of a building project and so someone who is handy would be great or someone who loves gardening. There is still some painting to do and some generally finishing off, so someone with experience of decorating or happy to give it a go. I have a lovely garden with a pond and veggies Ė also rather too many weeds in the beds which could do with some attention.

Norwich is a lovely relaxed town not far from the sea. Your working time can be flexible but to average around 5 hrs a day 5 day... more inside

Hello, I am looking for some help with gardening and house maintenance, and possibly cat and dog sitting.
I am living in the middle of Dartmoor National Park which is a great place for walking and scenery. Person with organisational skills and sense of humour and who loves the great outdoors would be ideal. Two lovely dogs and a cat in the house, and the occasional BnB guest.

Looking for people for ocotber 2019:
We have a large house and garden with lots of outbuildings so there are always jobs to keep everything under control, such as gardening, cleaning, building maintenance, fruit picking and cooking. We also run a campsite, have people who rent rooms from us long term and people who rent rooms for just a couple of days. So its fun here with lots of new people coming and going. You will not be asked to help with our business, but if you choose you can practice your English on our guests.
