Hallo and Welcome! S'mae a chroeso!

**Experienced help needed for November**
Priority given to volunteers who have been here before
References needed for others

This is a small hill farm in a beautiful valley, not far from the Glamorgan coast. Current residents on the farm include sheep, cattle (Herefords and Aberdeen Angus), a few chickens, two Welsh Cobs, two cats and one or two humans...

There is also loads of wildlife including buzzards, foxes, lizards - and of course slugs...
At this time of year, we regularly see a cuckoo in the trees near the house.

Lots to do! And lots of opportunities to learn new skills...

Things you can learn here include:

- repairing dry stone walls
- grafting fruit trees
- livestock care
- making bread
- gardening
- Welsh language and stories

Welcome to Welsh learners - Croeso i dysgwyr Cymraeg: Come and practice your Welsh while volunteering! Dewch i ymarfer yr iaith trwy gwirfoddoli yn Gymraeg!

We run glamping accommodation with 20 acres of land, four acres of which are woodland. We are looking for help with outside jobs. These include: wood collecting and splitting, laying new paths, digging, strimming, mowing, gardening, replacing fence posts, painting, etc.

We are 'off grid' and have been for 26 years so know quite a lot about alternative energy - happy to pass on knowledge! The business and our life style are very sustainable (we've won awards!) moving here for 'the good life'.

We are in a very rural location with great views of the countryside. the nearest shop is 3 miles away - so having a car is advisable. Lots to do in the area - lovely beaches about half an hour's drive away, plenty of castles etc. Mobile phone reception is good but limited internet (available in the house but not in the accommodation).

In exchange for 3 hours work a day we will provide accommodation in one of our yurts or a tipi and supply breakfast but not evening meal. Cooking ... more inside

We live on a (small) smallholding in a rural location in North Wales, on the edge of Snowdonia. The setting is delightful and secluded, yet the nearest town is only 4 miles down the road, while the North Wales coast and mainline train station are 18 miles away. Walking, climbing & cycling opportunities, as well the many attractions of Snowdonia & the Coast are only a short drive away.

Our animals (dogs, cats, chickens, bees, rare-breed sheep, donkeys) rule the place and our lives, so this is for animal lovers only!
Our land is mainly pasture in two fields adjacent to the house, with a large garden with orchard & veg beds.

We are currently have availability to host from 20 August onwards, for a maximum stay of 3 weeks at a time.

We are are quite new to smallholding life so we are specifically looking for people who already have relevant skills to share, as we have a lot to learn. Work can be arranged flexibly around a mutually agreed schedule. You should be able and confid... more inside

Hello from Joe and Caz at Glandwr. We are an OPD permaculture project next to (but not part of) the Lammas Ecovillage. Our project currently consists of a young forest garden, areas of young woodland, an organic vegetable garden and areas of pasture. Joe is a woodworker and Caz forages for wild foods for restaurants. Our interests are self sufficiency, home brewing, music and more. In previous years we’ve enjoyed plenty of travelling and festivals, we love meeting new people and sharing skills.

We currently live in a converted horse box and have BASIC facilities on site. Our projects this year are building a carpentry workshop, finishing off land works, improving infrastructure for volunteers/visitors, upkeep of the forest garden, growing vegetables, using a holistic grazing pattern to keep sheep, caring for the 2,500 trees we planted last winter, general land maintenance and more.

We aim to create a beautiful and functional landscape which will support our own needs and promo... more inside

I have 6 weeks off as I work in a College and it's now my holidays. I want to do a lot on my house, which I am renovating at the moment. Awen (my house) is a characterful, Victorian, terraced house which is situated in a peaceful country town, directly opposite the fast flowing river Teifi, which is a popular canoeing and kayaking area.
4 extra hours of help a day on my house and outside area would make a massive difference to the progress. Preferably I would like someone’s help that can do carpentry and building work.
For leisure time I am able to show off the amazing countryside such for swimming and walking/exploring. I also know many people in this area for social events and live music.

After a long period not requiring help, due to illness we are now looking urgently for a helper, 2 friends or a couple to help run our holiday accommodation, bunkhouse, tipi and small campsite, as well as some animal husbandry looking after our horses and sheep. We would like somebody who can stay until around mid September, learning how we do things initially and then being able to put this into practice in our absence.

Helpers will be involved with the day to day running of our bunkhouse, tipi and small campsite; booking people in and out, answering enquiries, ensuring that the premises are clean and tidy, changing beds, laundry and general cleaning, grass cutting, and perhaps occasionally preparing simple meals for guests. Some days can be really hectic especially when there is a changeover between two big groups, other days when a group is staying for several nights, for example, there may be nothing to do except a quick inspection and dispose of rubbish.

Our native ponies... more inside

4th - 12th of July,
23rd - 31st of August,
10th - 18th of September,
22nd - 31st of September.

We accommodate 1 Helper or a couple at the time, for a period of 9 days.

We are a couple living on a small holding set on 8 acres of land and over the last seven years we’ve planted 3 acres of woodland, have a vegetable plot, pond, meadows, flock of chickens, cat and dog. Our main activities are maintenance of the land to promote wildlife, building green structures, running vegetable garden, and a small low impact campsite with tipis and yurts.

We’re in our late thirties and fifties. I’m keen on creating things and have some experience in willow weaving, decoupage and crocheting, which I’m happy to share if you like crafts. My partner Charles has travelled a lot during his youth and have spent some time living abroad and before starting together tipi and yurt campsite, worked as a professional gardener and also spent some time in catering trade. ... more inside

We love to welcome volunteers at our Community in Wales, Uk as volunteers.

We are an intentional community currently made up of 2 families, and a couple, and some young adults. The children here are home educated.
We also have 2 dogs, 4 cats and 29 goldfish in the pond,12 chickens and a cockerel. We are interested in sustainable off grid living and eco education( the fun and interesting way), and in spring and summer biodynamic gardening and permaculture. In autumn winter we need help with wooding, building and carpentry. We are close to the Presilly mountains and not far to the coast.

In spring and summer the centre has guests come to visit to stay over summer in Glamping yurts and also a few rooms air bnb style aswell as a family camp festival week so it gets fairly busy and volunteer help is appreciated. We also have a home educators day run weekly all year plus other courses and events coming together. In autumn and winter we push forward with building and carpentry and m... more inside

We are retired and semi-retired management development consultants. We and our six cats live in a 500 year old former farm house of historical note in the beautiful hill country of central Wales 30 mins from the English border.

Restoring our house to its former glory has been a labour of love and we'd like some help from people with experience of good quality painting and decorating (our kitchen cupboards need a fine finish! ), garden maintenance and general household DIY/ maintenance. Being comfortable using ladders will be important and some of the garden work will involve clearing/lopping trees & digging so it will be quite physical. The start date would ideally be the beginning of May.

We think it's suitable for a single or couple/pair of friends and can offer a good standard of accommodation including your own bathroom, plus the option to eat with us or cook for yourselves depending on preference/who is around. If you'd like to share some of your own favourites wit... more inside

Situated 4 miles from the beautiful seaside town of Aberystwyth Mid Wales in a tranquil setting surrounded by agricultural land, our peaceful smallholding houses a large Canadian pine building that was originally shipped over to be used as airforce barracks during the second world war. More recently it has been used as a spiritual retreat and maintains its drug and alcohol free status. The building is undergoing refurbishments so that it can continue supporting those people who need space to work on themselves and their creative/spiritual pursuits. If you are looking for somewhere that is hassle free and peaceful and you enjoy being close to nature we would be delighted to hear from those who have building maintenance skills or are willing to learn and get stuck in helping us breathe new life into the place. There are also opportunities to work on the land if outdoor work is more your thing. We are available for long or short term placements.
