Welcome to join our family community on our new land recently bought last autumn! We have started bringing this old farm land back to life again after decades of abandonment. It’s a very exciting process with endless possibilities and freedom to try out, make experiments and learn. At the moment the circumstances here are very basic and it is also our conscious choice to live simply and close to the land. This place is for you if you enjoy a do-it-yourself attitude, love being outdoors, have adventure spirit and don’t require big comforts as found in the city. We spend most of our time outdoors. We do have electricity in our main house and we are at a biking distance (3km) from a village with all basic services.

We are four adults and four children – all of them under seven years old. We have three nationalities (finnish, swedish and dutch) and our common language is english. We have tiny houses on wheels and yurts as living spaces, a 50m2 house with wood heating and wood stove,... more inside

Hi!

We are bicultural family, who spends summers in Finnish country side near Savonlinna. This summer we would need help with house reparation and also with our kids of 3 (Menni) and 5 (Tao) years old 4-5 hours/ 4-5 days per week. There is also some help needed with take care of the land, basic house works, carrying water, wood work, painting, restoration. For take care of children we would require a person who really likes to be with kids and preferably Italian spoken (don't need to be an Italian necessarily), because they are bilingual and need to keep up their second language.

We will offer in change delicious vegetarian meals, own room to stay, tranquility of clean Finnish nature (at least while our bit noisy family is sleeping) and fun time with our not-so-serious family. The house is located about 18 kms from the city. We are surrounded by beautiful forests and from mid July on you can start to find first Chanterelles and blueberries. You can come along with us on our ... more inside

I live in small village of Rääkkylä at beautiful eastern side of Finland with my husband and two children. I'm an artist and maker of soaps, salves, herbal remedies and many kind of handicrafts.
Nearest shop is 2,5 km away in the village and nearest city Joensuu is 60 km away. Our house is heated with wood. We have extra room upstairs for visitors and helpers, some times this area can be used for workshops. Sauna is heated every week and for winter season twice a week there is local sauna and avanto (= hole in the ice where people go to swim)just five minutes walk from us. We live next to biggest lake in Finland.

At the moment (winter) I need mostly help to take care of kids and house work so i can work with other things. Summertime we need help with garden and many kind of little things. We follow the cycles of nature so wintertime is more quiet but spring, summer and autumn there's lot's of things to do!

If you have interest for plants and their healing powers I'm glad to... more inside

I'm an organic mushroom and hemp farmer. My main product is Reishi, but I grow also other mushrooms. Mostly I just sell spawn for home growers. The actual farm is south of Oulu, but I have some activity in Rovaniemi as well. Most work is not mushroom related. I have a small garden in front of the house which need to be taken care of. During September and October your job would be berrie picking and mushroom hunting. During the winter I need help with general household maintenance. I like social activists, musicians and permaculture people. I'm involved in a new socioeconomic innovation called Copiosis and Rights of nature Europe. The goal for the latter is to make nature a legal person within the whole EU. My mushroom company Nordic Fungi is also searching good photographers and video editors. I can host you for a few days so you'll be able to see Rovaniemi. For longer stays I can suggest you to my friend who has a permaculture farm outside the city.

We are a family of four. Susanne, Kjell, Linnea (19, does not live at home) and Julia (16). Our property is 6 km from the main road out to the archipelago, so easiest if you have own vehicle for transport if you want to explore the area. The house is old and partly renovated. Peaceful setting in a village in the countryside with a big garden, pond and BBQ area. 300 meters to the sea. We have 2 cats. Bikes are available to use. The guest room for you to use is in a separate building close to the main house and has got electricity but no toilet or shower. Toilet & shower in the house can be used, (also a long drop outside). The shower in the house is in the basement of our house and kind of a temporary solution.4 hrs work/day for accommodation and meals. No smoking inside. Short stays. Work that needs doing is gardening, lawn mowing (both ride on and small one) painting, wood splitting, renovations.
We love to meet new people. We speak swedish, finnish and english.

This is a little farm on the western Finnish coastline. We have horses, finncattle, sheep, goats, mini-pigs, geese, cats and a rabbit. We run horseback riding services and have activities for Children, co-operating with the local 4H organization. We are also renovating an old Finnish farmhouse. We would like to have someone who likes working with animals, building/renovation works and/or cooking. We provide all meals, accommodation and free internet for 6 hrs work a day.
