We're a family with two children (7 and 3 years old), running a permaculture project at 1300 mt. on the Swiss alps, in a small historical village served by public transports.
We have a veggie and medicinal garden and few ducks. Barbara teaches permaculture and Joe is an experienced guide in wild and medicinal herbs.

Help needed in the veggie garden (mulching, fencing, etc.), in the house (housekeeping and cooking, babysitting) as well as for harvesting and transforming wild plants. Families are welcome.
We look for motivated volunteers that wants to experience our way of living; therefore if you need a place in Switzerland as a basis to look for jobs, this is not the place for you.
French or Italian required plus patience with children and a capacity to be simple and open-minded.

Being at our place you'll become part of a tribe. Help in daily tasks is required. We'll share our meals together.
Sleeping in tent in our garden. A double room is available at our neighbor's p... more inside

There is a beautiful spot in a valley. This land is now our garden, so if you like forrest farming-gardening because like to know myself also more about it.

We live a simple and healthy life. We have no internet(or not a good one-mobile connection)
or telephone reception, so low radiation.

For internet we visit libraries or cafes.
There is 1 (caravans) or a tent available.

Although the location is remote, there is a social network here with like-minded back-to-the-land people.

We appreciate more or less 1-3
hours of work a day mac 10 hours a week

Activities are cleaning, building, collecting firewood, cooking and more.

I am (pretty) new at this and look foreward to some wonderful connections.

Permaculture

It is a project and we would love to have helpers interested in this project.

We are particularly interested in having PDC graduates who want to take their learning a bit further and gain practical experience.

Hi there!

My parents own a much too big house with a garden and a veggie patch in a suburb of Linz called Langholzfeld. When I get home during holidays, I'll help them around the house and garden and you are very welcome to join us!

During my travels I encountered so much hospitality all over the world and I would really like to pay back my debts to the traveling community.

However, you should know, that my parents are not as excited about it as I am, yet. They said travelers are welcome as long as there is somebody at home, so you won’t get a key to the house. Which is really sad, because one of the things I learned over the last months is how important and beautiful trust in a traveler-host relationship is. But hey, together we can convince them and drag them out of their cold, distrustful behaviour.

For a start, they agreed on short stays of max 4 nights. So the whole thing will be more of a couchsurfing rather than a helpxing.

I'm fluent in English, (Austri... more inside

I, sometimes we -my daughter and me- live in a big house in the middle of a village. Sometimes I rent out some rooms.
During Summer the tasks are lighter garden work,
maybe some cleaning in house, or some renovation work on older furniture.
I am fluent in English, Italian, French, of course German. If there is a helper with Finnish mother tongue or Russian we could also work a bit on this.
Some helpers found it a convenient place to travel within Switzerland which you will have enough time to do too.
But also the very close surroundings offer a lot of nice possiblities, swimming, walks, biketours etc.
I expect my helpers to entertain themselves during two days out of seven.
You have your own room, bathroom might be necessary to be shared.
Last open dates this year Octobre 3rd till Octobre 26th
Please: first contact only over e-mail from your own profile.

- at the moment no helpers needed -

My small old farmhouse is situated in Upper Austria, about 10km away from the next village (no public transport), surrounded by nature and beside a small river. It's close to Nationalpark Kalkalpen/some mountains (up to 1960m) and about 40kms from the beautiful 1000-year-old town Steyr.

During the last 4 years I cared for my old parents (now only for my father) who live in the town Steyr and so I was sharing my time between these 2 places and therefore couldn`t continue my projects... But perhaps with your help we`ll manage this?!

If you like simple life at the countryside (basic bathroom and no central heating but a nice stove to burn wood), nature and hiking and want to relax in peace and tranquility that's the right place for you! But if you prefer to spend (some of) your time off in Steyr (daytrips to Linz, Salzburg or Vienna by train are easy from here) its also possible because I have to drive to Steyr often and to spend time at... more inside
