We (Phil and Helen) have lived on our 6 hectare permaculture smallholding in a very quiet village in the middle of Brittany for the last 25 years.
We were self sufficient for a large part of the time whilst seeing our family grow up and even becoming grandparents recently.Helen also runs a local cafe, shop, bar.
At the farm we still have chickens, sheep, a dog, cats and now and then a pig for the freezer.
Part of our land is a forest garden alongside a large polytunnel, whilst the rest is wetland, there is also a huge oak tree on the property

Learning is a journey into the unknown!

We will always try our best to let people work on the projects that interest them the most-
either at the smallholding or the renovation in the farmhouse or a mixture of the two.

At the smallholding we are currently :
Chopping firewood
Collecting mulch
Making compost
Planting trees
Brushcutting
Clearing streams.

We are also renovating our farmhouse and recycling various dis... more inside

in 2017 i bought a house in the french département called haute marne, which is part of the greater region of Grand Est. the house came with a huge garden, divided into one third flowers, one third vegetables and the last third a small orchard. i would be very pleased to have a helping hand now and then to be able to take better care of garden, house and barn. i am not looking for slaves, but for skilled people who are interested in sharing their knowledge working together with me for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. i do own 3 dogs, so dog-unfriendly people please refrain from asking. i am an long term vegetarian and will not be spending money on meat. And: this is a non-smoking household. i do speak english, french and german fluently as i grew up in luxembourg. the location is in a very small and rather remote (next to no public transport) village. i could fetch helpers either at the parking lot of exit 8.1 of highway A 31 or at langres train station. helpers have their own room wit... more inside

I urgently need some helpers from mid-October to mid-December. What work has to be done? Well, first of all the ducks and geese need food and they like to have their place cleaned. Then real autumn work has started, which includes cleaning and putting away most of the huts in the various enclosures, leaving just a few for the birds to shelter in bad weather. Further the garden has to be cleaned up, the rest of the vegetables harvested, leaves swept together, and if the weather is too bad or if the outside work is finished, there is still some renovation to be done. The wood of our miellerie has worked and has come apart in places and so it has to be redone. And the renovations of the baking house are not quite finished. Then the entrance has to be done up nicely. But don't worry, we just do one thing after the other. And if the work makes you feel too hot, take a dip in my pool, though judging by the temperatures, it may be too cool by then,

My house is right out in the country... more inside

Who want to be harvest some grappes ?

Hey everyone!

Originally from Belgium, I got into wine through travels and finally settle my luggage to take over a beautifull 9ha vineyard in an excellent terroir of Bordeaux area.

A nice chance for people curious about wine to learn more about it and for those who simply like having some physical excercice in an amazing nature ;-)
For now, we`re looking for enthusiastic winelovers to give us a hand with day to day vine jobs...

For now, we need some help to pick and sort grappes from 22nd september until the 6 of october...

Hope to cross your way in the vine soon !

Hello,

We are Fabien and Morgane. We used to travel all around the world with helpx, now we are hosting people !
We are living in the Alpes de haute Provence in a chalet. The view is stunning, surrounded by mountains.

In exchange, you can enjoy the place, go skiing, or walking or just relax !
You will be in a private room, with a shared bathroom. We provide breakfast, lunch and diner homemade food, local and mostly organic. No problem with vegetarians.
