Our young family owns and operates a small scale permaculture and progressive cold climate agriculture farm on 125 acres near Dawson Creek BC, historic start of the Alaska Highway. We have a small creamery for cheese production, make several types of cured meats, and we are constantly experimenting different growing methodologies. We also are the home of some of the finest Warmblood Sporthorses and breeding program in Northern BC. Our goal is to push back the months of food and produce winter drought in the far north, and advance practical methods for high latitude food security.

I have a small hobby farm with a variety of small animals that need tending - rabbits, chickens, sheep, and pigs. There are always a number of projects on the go, yard work and fencing. I can offer a room, food, internet, laudry facilities, and a bike. I would be happy to include you in any of the fun stuff we do such as hiking, swimmming, quading, camping as the situation allows.

We are a bed and breakfast and campground in the beautiful Robson Valley! Our property has beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains to the east and Cariboo Mountains to the west. We are needing help in July for haying (moving hay bales), gardening, painting, cutting firewood and other work around our property. There is a trail down to the Fraser River where you can fish or relax. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Helpers should not be allergic to cats since one is in the house. Please e-mail for more information.

We live off the grid (with an array of solar panels and a backup generator run on recycled vegie-oil) on 160 acres of mixed forest with several creeks flowing through it.

Gardening (we have a good sized vegetable patch) is part of the spring, summer and fall routine as well as gathering firewood, trail clearing, caring for our ducks and horses, fixing fences, and picking edible wild foods and herbs etc. We eat a lot of what the garden has ready or what is in the root cellar.

We continue to work on the new addition (including a 2 story turret) to our owner-built house (a passive solar design) using as much local material as possible, combining earthbag, strawbale, cob, and adobe with a post and beam frame.
We 're also finishing a new greenhouse (64'x12'), and look forward to a longer growing season for tomatoes, peppers etc. and to be able to try to grow more exotic foods such as yams, ginger, lemons etc.

We are looking for helpers who are physically fit, hardworking, k... more inside

Hi!
We are couple with a mixed farm and could use a person or two to help with projects and chores!
We both have a good sense of humor and love the farm life!

There are cows, pigs, a few horses, rabbits, chickens, geese, turkeys (the birds free range), and a bunch of big dogs to look after everything! If you are looking for a place to go that has a lot of different animals, we have a bit of variety here;)
Not certified organic but are working toward it eventually.

Accomodations to stay in while you are here..we have a caravan(trailer) with a couple beds in it, if more than one person comes it will be shared between you!
It has a tiny bathroom in it but the washroom in the house is available for showers.

The projects/chores could be...
Feeding/watering bunnies and other animals, checking cows, building projects(someone handy at building things would be great, we have a few things to build),planting and gardening(anyone love weeding???:), cooking meals, housework, dis... more inside

We are Monika and Fred and are developing an organic farm/tourist destination in the wilderness of the West Chilcotin Mountains. Two dogs, a cat, a horses, some chickens and a milk cow are enjoying life with us. The farm is very isolated in a small valley and borders the large Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. We are non-smokers in our early sixties. We are developing 5 acres for organic potato and vegetable production and have built a greenhouse into the mountain side for vegetables requiring more heat. One log cabin, a sauna and a barn are already finished, a second log cabin is close to being finished.

We like to share our life in the wilderness with people who are interested in an experience of living in and with nature and yet enjoy some of nowadays comforts. The opportunities for work experience and wilderness adventure are endless.

Spring, summer and fall projects include general farm work, building log fences and log cabins (incl. cutting down trees and milling them... more inside

We are a small cattle & horse breeding ranch located in the middle of British Columbia and are in the middle of constructing this new to us ranch. This year 2016, we have only the horses at home and they are in all stages of training and will be used to ride range checking on the cattle. We produce our own hay as well we take pride in keeping our locations beautiful and in proper working order. We are in the Cariboo Region of BC; the heart of Gold country. We enjoy privacy yet are only minutes from Quesnel. We offer room and board in exchange for help with various ranch chores as well help is needed with all stages of ranch building. This year we are constructing new fence areas. We require help with the above noted as well cutting firewood, gardening, haying, painting and some work with the animals, especially working with some young and 'green' horses which will be under the guidance of Tia, who has trained horses and riders for most of her life. We would like help with various projects, finishing the green roof on the sauna, fencing at the horse pasture plus gardening, putting up firewood, cooking and general maintenance. We are always starting new projects, and there would be lots to learn. Any help with our tasks would be welcome and usually enjoyable!
You will have your own accommodation, we have a sheepherder wagon, or a bedroom in the house. We have internet access. Meals will be shared, unless you prefer to make your own. We are having fun cooking in our outdoor oven, and are always looking for new recipes to try. Our home is in a mature forest setting, with gardens, a sauna, and pond with rainbow trout.
We have travelled widely over the years and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. We are a quiet couple, non-smokers. Leisure time is spent with our elderly horses and pets, reading and cooking. Forest walks and cycling is right out the door.
