We are Monika and Fred and are developing an organic farm/tourist destination in the wilderness of the West Chilcotin Mountains. Two dogs, a cat, a horses, some chickens and a milk cow are enjoying life with us. The farm is very isolated in a small valley and borders the large Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. We are non-smokers in our early sixties. We are developing 5 acres for organic potato and vegetable production and have built a greenhouse into the mountain side for vegetables requiring more heat. One log cabin, a sauna and a barn are already finished, a second log cabin is close to being finished.

We like to share our life in the wilderness with people who are interested in an experience of living in and with nature and yet enjoy some of nowadays comforts. The opportunities for work experience and wilderness adventure are endless.

Spring, summer and fall projects include general farm work, building log fences and log cabins (incl. cutting down trees and milling them... more inside

We would like help with various projects, finishing the green roof on the sauna, fencing at the horse pasture plus gardening, putting up firewood, cooking and general maintenance. We are always starting new projects, and there would be lots to learn. Any help with our tasks would be welcome and usually enjoyable!
You will have your own accommodation, we have a sheepherder wagon, or a bedroom in the house. We have internet access. Meals will be shared, unless you prefer to make your own. We are having fun cooking in our outdoor oven, and are always looking for new recipes to try. Our home is in a mature forest setting, with gardens, a sauna, and pond with rainbow trout.
We have travelled widely over the years and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. We are a quiet couple, non-smokers. Leisure time is spent with our elderly horses and pets, reading and cooking. Forest walks and cycling is right out the door.
We are between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, ne... more inside

Nestled near the base of Stek'yo'den: Roche de Boule mountains our little hobby farm is a great place to be.

Any help on our farm helps us survive the winter at Dam Maxhla Didaat (Check out the facebook link for more info!). We spend our winters occupying Skyla's family's traditional Gitxsan territory- Maxhla Didaat. Trapping small fur bearing animals and living the trapper's dream. Any help over the summer will help support the work that we do, occupying the land, up there.

Our summer hobby farm is a 5 minute bike ride to Seeley lake Provincial Park and there are great bike/hike trails down to the Skeena River (5-10mins). We are a 15 minute bike ride to New Hazelton or a 30 minute bike ride to Historic Old Hazelton/ K'san. We have extra bikes for use!

Farm life consists of 5 chickens, 6 ducks, 2 dogs & 1 cat. We are getting ready for this years poults and piglets! We have a non-certified organic garden for our personal use, that we like to share/ trade with family and fr... more inside

Cattle Ranch
We run a 500 Head Cattle ranch in the Cariboo area.
Depending on the season, there are many jobs we could use help with on the place. Throughout the year we feed cattle, brand, irrigate, put up hay,do general maintenance on fences, equipment, buildings, work cattle, and occasionally...relax!
You would have the opportunity to spend time in the great natural environment, and the likelihood of seeing wild animals is great. There is a variety of jobs, and what you end up doing will depend on your willingness, experience, and the season.
The Cariboo is a beautiful place and we encourage any visitors to take in some of the area while they're here.

This is a traditional beef producing semi-remote ranch, located in the historic ranching communtiy of Baker Creek, 45km west of Quesnel. We are a horse-based ranch, relying on horses to do our much of our range riding and ranch work. We train our own horses for the ranch work they will be required to do. We also produce our own hay, fix fences, garden, and clear land. The ranch is currently growing, as is the cow and horse herd. Although we are not certified organic, our animals recieve no hormones or unnecessary antibiotics. We do things in tune with nature and don't fight against it. We also own/operate a big game guiding company, each fall we head to the back country.

We would like to find a couple or single that would like to come and help us with various projects and chores. The Fall is a time we need help with harvesting and some carpentry. We live by a famous steelhead fishing river, so if you like to fish you have found your paradise. We also take time for fun, it's not all work here.

This is a wilderness hunting camp in Northern Alberta. We have cabins to stay in but it is rustic and 6 miles from the nearest road. We travel to the camp in an 8 wheel argo with tracks (all terrain vehicle).

I would like some help with building an addition on the cookhouse and any help around the yard is great.

We do not live at the camp full time but spend most of the time from August to November staying there.

We are looking for helpers who can contribute out around the farm. We need the cows and horses taken care of, fences to be fixed, weeds to be sprayed, dishes and generalized domestic work to be done, and many other things to help maintain the overall wellness of the property. There is a one bedroom cabin that is open for stay, about 100 yards from the main farmhouse. Heat, stove, food and water are all supplied, with an additional outhouse located behind. Meal plans can be arranged once contacted.
