Hello, my name is lance, I live in Pennsylvania near philidelphia. I have a house in chester. I would welcome travelers to hear interesting stories, and have some company. exchange for room and board would probably include light housework, cleaning, lawn cutting, maybe some help with an occasional light project. Short term stay would be preferable. If your looking to tour the United States, the east coast might be a good jumping off point. I am close to the Philadelphia international airport. If you are skilled at painting, that would be a plus. I will be traveling myself sporadically over the next few months. So, sometimes you might have the place to yourself. There are no dishes in my sink, and I keep a organized home. (I didn't say clean:)And would expect the same from a guest. This is my first time doing anything like this,

Ideal Helper:
Someone who is willing to jump in and help and put their best foot forward. If you have experience in some of things listed below then great, if you don't we will be happy to give you some! We have quite a few animals so someone who likes being around them is a must.
We can take one person at a time, or two people if they don't mind staying in the same room.

Length of stay:
Shorter terms work best for us, around two weeks is ideal.

About Us:
We are a family of six, but only four are living at home. Ed is a Carpenter and works for a nearby University (Longwood University, Farmville Virginia.) Rachael is a Veterinarian and owns a small animal hospital (we see companion animals) on the farm. Morgan (31) lives about an hour away and works for a local building contractor. Matt (27) lives thirty minutes away and works as a project engineer for a contract company. Central Pennsylvania – Newport
If you enjoy quiet nights, wildlife, beautiful stars and fresh air all centered around an amazing house then you will love this place! We are surrounded by woods with lots of wildlife and offer hiking, boating/canoeing/ kayaking, and fishing nearby. Our 23 acre (9.30 Hectors) property is near both the Susquehanna River, as well as the Juniata River. We have a large house that has been neglected that last 25 years and nears some love to make it beautiful again. The house is a “German” style Tutor that was a summer home set in the woods on a small farm. The house has lots of room inside and on the large deck, as well as the large stone porch.
The volunteers (Preferably a couple or 2 to 3 friends) would help with work that is linked to their particular strengths for renovation, maintenance and landscaping projects both inside and out. Projects revolve around improving the house and farm buildings like landscaping, painting, light construction, tile wor... more inside
