We are a small group of friends who came together with a common dream to create a habitat which supports sustainable and natural living. With this dream in mind, by 2012, we acquired about 20 acres of land which was a combination of natural forest and farmland.

Our farm is in the Konkan region - coastal strip of Western India, and sandwiched between the Western Ghats and the Arabian sea. The nearest beach is 25km away.

ABOUT THE FARM
*******************************
The farm is away from village activity - 1 km from the nearest neighbour, 2 kms from the village and 10 kms from the nearest town. The farm adjoins forest land and gives ample room for being with yourself. Monsoons (Jun-Sep) have heavy rains - beautiful and exciting, Winters (Nov-Jan) are pleasant, Summers (Mar-May) are typically hot and dry but full of nature's bounty (berries, mangoes, etc).

Currently we have started developing a fruit orchard in about 15 acres of hill slopes, and have started farming in 1.... more inside

We are a British-Indian couple with a four year old and three dogs. Venetia and Uppu (and the dogs of course) right now live on the farm, while Gautam commutes there on the weekend from Bangalore. Our hope is that this piece of land, a few acres straddling jungle and meadow, will eventually be home to an eclectic community of residents and volunteers where we and others can live and learn.

We have spent the last two years focusing on the basic infrastructure necessities using alternative building techniques - earthbags, mud blocks, compost loos, shipping containers. We now want to open the place up as a blank canvas for all kinds of projects from the artistic to the horticultural, from creating a jungle gym to setting up log bee hives, to make it more beautiful, more comfortable and more fun. Ideas and enthusiastic volunteers most welcome.

We are now more or less self sufficient for vegetables and will soon have banana and papaya. We like to forage as much wild food as possib... more inside

We are creating a space to enable innovative creativity to flourish alongside and in tandem with developing communities. We need like minded individuals with varied skills and interests who'd like to and experiment with farming, building, marketing, teaching and any other talents you'd like to bring. Don't expect a typical guesthouse. We strive daily for the new, the innovative and unique and varied experiences. We live in a different way to make an original, useful and real experience. We are learning to live with a higher consciousness and general respect and to share our ideas with other beautiful people who have a similar take on life. This family-like environment is a 20 minute drive to most attractions and must see/do places. We are doing our best to keep our hearts, our minds and our eyes open. Our lives are dedicated to creating a place we can all call home. Like-minded people are always welcome!
