We are a small rural landshare community of 4 offering an opportunity for a live-in for 3-6 month periods as of now, subject to interview via skype after e-mail summary of yourself.

This is a neutrally independent transitional healing space, not for escapists or alternative space cadets. It is sincere and more gracious than wwoofing.

Practical work here is general maintenance and organic gardening 4 days a week. Lots of opportunities to learn and experience rural countryside living.

The land has been worked with for 5 years now, with several plots, fruit and nut trees, greenhouses, sheds and a dome presently established. We also have a recreational space to enjoy.

We extend our hand as an outreach to co-create with able bodied persons who are drug and alcohol free, though we are not killjoys. Experience doing organic gardening, domestic work and general maintenance skills much needed. We have 2 vehicles, hence drivers welcome. Space open to receive two women and two c... more inside

Help wanted from March 2016

We have a large house and garden [with hot tub] near Southwold on the Suffolk coat. We want to develop it to create a space for retreats, workshops, personal growth, and fun. This will include an eco build in the garden, yurts, landscaping an old chicken shed site into an orchard and much more.
We are interested in gardening, pottery, singing, yoga, meditation, massage, tantra, walking, swimming in the sea [when warm enough], having fun.
We would like an individual or a couple willing to share in these activities, helping for not more than 24 hrs a week per person in exchange for board and lodging and being part of the family. We need a commitment to a minimum of two weeks, longer is better. Enthusiasm and willingness to generally muck in with what ever needs doing is more important than specific skills, but experience of gardening, general DIY etc would be appreciated. You will have your own bedroom and shared use of the bathroom and rest of t... more inside

We have a vision of our home being an ethical cultural centre, with polly tunnels and bees, a forest garden, composting toilets and interesting workshops that share knowlage and improve wellbeing, a place that promotes and sets an example of self sufficiency and community partnership.

At the moment we are living in a caravan among a lot of mud and 15 year old trees next to a house that has no roof and windows! we welcome volunteers with the vision and enthusiasm we have to be part of our journey.

Hello, we are Amy (39) and Mike (42) and we have just bought a 17th century farm house with a ten acre woodland. We are beginning the challenge of renovating the property and outbuildings with a view to creating both an ethical family home and an opportunity for ethical tourism, developing the land to contribute to the self sufficiency of the home and business.

We are hoping to find male or female volunteers who do t mind living in a caravan, and would be keen to get stuck into all... more inside

We are a working couple whose children have left home, and we need to sort our house out. We have a dog, a cat and 2 chickens, and a busy, creative lifestyle. We welcome one or two people, as a couple or friends, to help us with cleaning, DIY, gardening, decorating and general household work; walking the dog would be helpful, and a great way to get to know our beautiful landscape.
We are happy with one or two week stays.
We are also keen to practise our French, German and Japanese, if you bring any of those with you.
You will find musical instruments here to play, plenty of CDs and books, and your own rooms with separate bathroom.
Our nearest town is Devizes, and we are on a bus route to Bath, Salisbury and Swindon. A coach runs from Devizes to London daily.
The county of Wiltshire offers some stunning prehistoric sites, the main ones being Stonehenge and the village of Avebury, plenty of barrows and tumuli, and the county is criss-crossed by many paths and bridleways. The... more inside

We are looking for help from January 2016.

We are a fun, hard working, yet relaxed and laid back family of 5 (two living away) in a beautiful hidden valley in the Forest of Dean on the border with England and Wales.

The place is secluded, quiet and away from it all whilst being close to the cities of Bristol, Gloucester and Cardiff (45mins away each).

We are developing the farm combining the best of traditional, organic, permaculture and bio principles and are at the early stages of setting up a sustainable, synergistic agroforestry systems integrated with terraced vegetable beds, Apple, Apricot, Peach, Plum, Pear, Cherry and Chestnut Orchards, juice and cider production. We are keen to develop the smallholding as a climate change demonstration farm and educational tool for local actions to combat peak oil and climate change.

***Update***
Not living on the Isles of Scilly any more as I have decided to re-train as a Lawyer, currently living in Exeter (Devon). But as we had such good experiences with Helpx before, and have a spare room available, I am offering a room and food in our Exeter home in return for acting as a tutor for my 12 year old son for 2 hours per day (as he is currently home-educated), and generally entertaining him on Tuesdays and Thursdays while I have lectures. We prefer a good standard of English as we haven't managed to become very multi-lingual yet, and my son is very keen on sports (particularly football) so would appreciate someone who was also enthusiastic!
I also intend to try making some of our furniture, and am setting up an indoor growing system to produce our own salad crops so anyone with an interest/knowledge in this area would be particularly welcome (but not essential)! We also like to make as much as possible of what we use, so homemade jam, wine, baking and crafts ... more inside

Looking for spiritually-oriented and practical person to help me with preparing the soil and sowing/planting up of an organic vegetable garden 10 by 7 metres. There is homemade compost and horse manure to be dug or tilled in. Offer stay in retreat centre 4 miles from the pilgrimage centre of Glastonbury: website is naturesretreatcentre.com
In exchange for 4 - 5 hours 5 day week for 1 - 2 weeks: board and lodging (breakfast and one main meal, ingredients for a lighter meal). Must have experience. Soil is heavy clay in some parts but lighter in other areas - it varies a lot. It is sheltered in a square of beech hedge in the middle of a beautiful botanic garden. Extraordinarily peaceful. No Wifi but cabled-in broadband.
