Help with the B&B is only needed from approx. June to Oct. Please read through my profile for odd jobs help needed in the winter months.

At present, I would appreciate a helping hand with some odd chores such as cleaning of gravel, splitting wood and general maintenance - wall papering, indoor painting, use of silicone, exterior masonry repair and painting, etc. You should be able to handle power tools and hand tools. Given the nature of help needed between January and March 2015, a male helper with experience is more suitable.

Hi!

We are looking for helpers in August and September to help with harvesting organic blueberries and looking after animals on our farm in the Dartmoor National Park blueberry

We are located in the Dartmoor National Park in the South West of England we have a lovely thatched house where we have a beautiful organic blueberry farm.

Our farm has some old stone barns, a few cows, sheep, Dartmoor ponies, ducks, chickens and bees for making honey. Also strawberries, raspberries, black currants and red currants, apple trees, plumb trees, damson trees and pear trees.

The fruit orchard has many apple trees and plums trees. The apples we make into juice in Autumn.

The farm has bees to assist in pollinating the blueberries.

The farm is a genuine Dartmoor National Park farm and the harvesting of the organic blueberries is unique opportunity to see how a small moorland horticultural farm works. The weather can be hot, cold or rainy and most of the work is outdoors so gene... more inside

About me: I'm a retired engineer living on a small farm near to Stratford on Avon. I have one large dog. I enjoy travelling, taking things apart but not putting them back together, walking the dog, going to car boot sales, hanging out with the grandkids and having a good chat. The farm is 37 acres which includes an apple orchard and a couple of outbuildings but is mostly quite overgrown. I'm building a large extension which will become a separate house. The house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a big sunny garden for BBQs.

The job: Various tasks to help with building the extension, for example ground levelling, painting, earth removal etc. Some of the work will involve heavy lifting because this is what I'm not so capable of any more. There is also ongoing garden work to be done. Plus farm work when in season - fruit picking etc.

What I'd like from you: 3 hours of work per day. I'll go through what needs to be done and I will be around most of the time if you have questi... more inside

Hi, we are looking for volunteers for July and September on our lovely little Hebridean island which is fantastic for wildlife, has a great environment for kayaking, fishing, walks and birdwatching. (please note that the Helpx map shows our home in the wrong place!) We can only take female volunteers as the accommodation is shared.
We have had many volunteers here and the feedback is they all had a great experience, being part of the community and working on a range of projects. We also really had a good experience hosting volunteers on the island.
These are the current projects that we need help with.
A GARDEN: a flower and vegetable garden which we have started to recover and get working again. Digging the garden beds, Pruning lots of bushes, Cutting grass ,General maintenance, Planting out and sowing seeds
CAMPSITE: cleaning, maintenance, dealing with visitors, laundry (washing and ironing)

Organised and motivated people are needed, we have barns and sheds that need clearing and organising from years of neglect and we cannot do it alone.
we are also having a country fair in September with a bar and stalls and live music. Come and be involved!
Summer brings a lot of new growth and gardening and horticulture and erecting our new 16 meter poly tunnel in a part of that
This is a family farm and a business in the making.
However we are at the very beginning stages of our business and would love anyone who would like to, to come and stay with us and help us to get organised.
The accomodation is very basic, there are a couple of caravans, some composting toilets, and a cold tap.
My mother lives on the farm, and my Husband and I are local

we are German and English speaking.

Hello Travelers,

I hope your adventure is going well and you are meeting great people and seeing exciting places.

My name is Nadia, I live in Derby in a large house with my dog Luxa. I have couple of business ventures and a boyfriend living in another country. I travel a lot and would like to travel more, but I feel really bad leaving Luxa in kennels. Also, due to a lot of international house moves, I dont have many friends in Derby.
I am looking for someone, preferably a lady, who would like to have a quiet stop-over at mine.
Im 36 easy going, positive, bit messy and very keen on nature exploring. If you stay with me you will have a lot of fun but also free chill out time when Im gone.I will take you around, show you places, take you kayaking, cinema and clubbing if you like (big fan of the house). There is a spare bedroom and your own bathroom waiting here.
In exchange for free living in, I would expect you to take care of my dog and the house when Im gone and share life'... more inside

We have a lovely home here in an absolutely idyllic location but it is time to be more green. Help us be more efficient. Would love a vegetable patch, a dyke, more recycling, would like to put in a wood burning hot tub, need trees cut and shown how to manage them so we can supply some of our own wood, and even to discuss an earthship. However right now we need to know how to manage our garden, we could be much better, we could plant the right herbs in the right places, we have a dark place that could maybe grow mushrooms, I wonder if hens or a goat are possibilities. We are GREEN in every sense of the word so ideas from an experienced exchanger would be great. We want to know - what else can we do????

We would also be interested in someone willing to do some house keeping, general house chores, food prepping/cooking and gardening, mainly day to day running of the house with ongoing projects outside.

The accommodation we offer is a caravan, so you can come yourself or we have ... more inside
