Aves Garden is a small farm in Woolsthorpe near the Great Ocean Road and Warrnambool.

We have 8 acres of gardens, pasture, orchards, and large, stocked dam surrounded by farmland. We grow fruit and vegetables using organic methods and we’re establishing a poultry hatchery specialising in free-range geese, ducks, turkeys and chickens. That means we eat lots of eggs and dairy products.

We have dogs, alpacas, poultry, rabbit and a sheep and a mixed orchard with various heritage fruit trees. If you are frightened of or uncomfortable with animals touching, licking, jumping or interacting with you, this is probably not the best farm for you. Our animals are not in cages and will want to get close to you, because they regard all human beings as 'friends'.

Work here is seasonal, including landscaping, orchard/garden maintenance, construction, food preservation, wood collection and stock husbandry. That means cleaning up poo and straw and spilt food and mud. It can be dirty work s... more inside

I have a small house in the town of Strathbogie, with a vegetable garden and fruit trees.
Looking for people to come stay this summer to help with a few jobs, mostly a bit of house maintenance and gardening.
I'm involved with a shared organic garden nearby with a few other people that may need an extra hand.
Great swimming hole nearby for afternoon swims.
Lovely community, always something going on, lots of wildlife including koalas, echidnas, and platypus if you are lucky.
I have a mudbrick, owner built house, spare room with large bed for Helpx friends. 1-2 people welcome.
I'm happy to supply most food, shared cooking.
I work part time so you would need to be happy to work/hangout alone sometimes.
I have a dog, Coota who would love some company through the day.

I live in a country farm house surrounded by beautiful scenery cliff tops, ocean and great
bush walks , there are extinct volcanos, forests
rivers, caves and many unusual volcanic rock formations. I basically need some help with an
organic garden, lawn mowing and fire wood collection. There is a lovely beach not far from my house which is sometimes visited by surfers and
whales. I am approximately 20 kilometres from Portland. At Portland there is a bus/train service to Melbourne that leaves twice a day. I enjoy music very much and enjoy teaching about
recorded music, especially soul music and Latin
American music. I am a vegetarian but am prepared to cook meat.

Christmas Hills, prized for its biodiversity of indigenous bush environs, is aprox 1hr north east of Melbourne (by car). The closest village is Yarra Glen (7min by car). Yarra Glen is in the Yarra Valley region well known for its tourist offerings of wineries, Tarra Warra Museum of Modern Art, antique vendors, bushwalking, cycling, canoeing etc.

We are on a beautiful bush block protected by a Trust for Nature Conservation Covenant, this being a legally binding agreement to protect the indigenous species and land forms beyond our tenure. To fulfil this commitment the land requires some extra loving hand work. Tasks include vegetation management, some fire prevention and assistance with minor property projects and some small construction jobs if you would like to develope some skills.

In our 50s, we have lived on this property for over ten years, having both grown up in the area before bringing up two (now adult) children. Property projects we are developing include an aqauponi... more inside

My property, beside Mt Korong in Central Victoria, is covered by a Trust For Nature Covenant to protect the regenerating bushland and fauna. I have just completed a strawbale house, which sits at the foot of a granite outcrop. It is a truly beautiful and secluded setting.

I have a double bed in my spare room to offer helpers, also a double sofa bed in the lounge. Bathroom facilities are shared, although there is a second toilet in the shed. The house is off-grid with passive-solar design so it's warm in winter and cool in summer.

There is ongoing conservation work to do around the property, such as chipping out and burning weeds and removing old fences. I also have carpentry work around the house (lining a shed) for anyone skilled in that area, and plenty of brick paving to do around the verandah.

The land and surrounds are great for long bush walks and rock scrambles. There are resident Wedge-tailed eagles, kangaroos, wallabies and parrots, as well as some wonderful migra... more inside
