We are a recently retired couple regenerating a lifestyle block of former farmland. We need some assistance planting natives in June and July and early August of this year.

Our block is 1 hour north of Auckland city, on the Tawharanui Peninsula, which has a regional park at its end. The protected wildlife sanctuary is 20 minutes drive from our property. Great swimming/surfing with nature trail walking. https://www.newzealand.com/my/feature/tawharanui-regional-park/

Wider area has loads of superb beaches and is close to Matakana village (https://www.matakanavillage.co.nz/) which is famous for its great farmers market, also close to artesian food outlets and award winning wine and breweries.

Goat Island marine reserve (https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/auckland/places/cape-rodney-okakari-point-marine-reserve-goat-island/) is about 20 minutes drive and has great swimming/snorkelling/diving.

There is a regular bus service from Auckland to Matakana an... more inside

Hi, we are a Kiwi/German family of four (with a 3 and a 7 year old) and with two large dogs, two cats and nine chickens, and a big backyard with lots of work.
We live one hour north of Auckland, in an attractive area with lots of great (surf)beaches and weekend markets and happenings nearby. For example, the popular Matakana farmers and vintage market, Goat Island marine reserve, Tawharanui Regional Park and great restaurants, cafs and Leigh Sawmill cafe for gigs. All this and much more within a 30 min. drive from our house. From here, it is a good town to start exploring the Far North of New Zealand, like Cape Reinga or the Bay of Islands.

We offer a newly renovated bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed and own bathroom and three meals a day. We also got wifi so you can stay connected.

In exchange we expect about 4 hours of work per night of stay and would like someone with a can-do attitude and some DIY skills to help us with some gardening work and some house renov... more inside

Very central location close to Ponsonby Road, parks and supermarkets. Stay with me (owner) and one border collie (dog). Attractive renovated house and garden. Free WiFi. I have one spare room for a male visitor who is helpful, non-smoking, clean and tidy - and who wants to enjoy easy access to central Auckland and explore its neighbourhoods. If you don't read this, or match these criteria, kindly don't apply because I won't reply and you are wasting your time. Note for Helpers: I probably won't consider your request to stay if you put almost nothing about yourself on your profile - so I recommend you make some effort so potential hosts can know something about you before you apply. After all, the host profile usually has a lot of information, photos and some reviews - you should supply that as well!!

Light duties might include regular housework, ironing a few shirts, odd jobs around the garden or small projects. Since I don't exactly run a farm, I do expect you to adapt to our r... more inside

Overview:

We are a Tibetan Buddhist Centre that welcomes HelpX volunteers interested in learning more about meditation, Buddhism & the spiritual life. Jobs are mainly cleaning & gardening. We offer accommodation in our caravan or dorm and free attendance at regular classes & meditations. Volunteers are responsible for their own food - but are welcome to also use the veggies in the veggie garden.

We are a Registered Charitable Trust and rely on volunteers and donations. We do not have a large budget and are unable to provide food money to short-term volunteers. Would you like a great place to live and work for the next few weeks or months. Hi we own an Organic Herbs and Seedling and Organic Cut Flower Company which we run from our small farm in Warkworth. We supply Matakana Farmers Market, several local restaurants and shops with Seedlings and Cut Flowers.
We are situated in the Mahurangi Range 7km north of Warkworth, which is renowned for its scenic trail walks. We are also a short distance from the picturesque Omaha beach with its beautiful white sand.
We supply food and modern self-contained accommodation for two people and in return expect four to five hours work per day which gives plenty of free time to explore. The tasks would include cutting grass in our orchards, garden maintenance, painting and working in the cut flower gardens.

If this sounds good to you please contact us for availability.

Regards Craig and Mandy.
