Space available after Easter (except 2nd week in May).
Please read this first: we are now living in the small house and can only offer accommodation for ONE person( = no couples). Patrick's health does not allow him to do much physical work, thus we would like to welcome occasional help around the garden/property/maintenance preferably from a male helper, or possibly a strong woman, minimum age 21, non-smoking vegetarian/vegan (although we can accommodate meat, but not smoking).

We live outside of Thames, down a quiet country lane, near the Kauaeranga River with beautiful swimming spots nearby in summer.

We aren't slave drivers and recognise that you are here foremost to enjoy a holiday and explore. We would like 3 hours a day, however you can manage that to suit (more some days, less others). Length of stay is usually 1 or 2 weeks, but is negotiable. In return we offer 3 meals a day, a comfortable double bed (including sheets, pillow, duvet and heated blanket) in you... more inside

About 10 minutes drive from Thames, but a 4 minute walk to the beach, down the driveway. Having your own car is really handy. Would also be handy if you like cooking the occassional meal :) I get bored with my own cooking and want to learn more.

Are you a keen gardener? Arty? Creative?
You will be mainly gardening and mowing lawns but there's also lots of scrubbing and cleaning to mix it up. I need someone prepared to get stuck in to a variety of tasks - in return, you will have good (great, even!) vegetarian food, a warm bed, and a stunning location to hang out in. If you work in the cafe as part of my business you will be paid, so must have a valid work visa.
Please only email. I will not take a phone call from you unless I have already said you can come. This is my test to see how well you listen to directions...

i live on a beautiful property in the bush, where i hear the kiwi calling nearly every night. there is always work to do........these are the things i need help with:
- painting the house
- small handy man jobs
- fencing
- weed eating
- gardening
the ideal helper for me at the moment has building skills, as fixing the garden fence is first priority.

after work is done for the day, there is a beautiful beach 5 minutes by car away, as well as a fun local place to go and grab a beer.......or just relax in the hammock on the very peaceful property.

i am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello! We are a semi-retired couple, living on a 13 hectares of land on the outskirts of Waihi, close to Waihi Beach and the Karangahake Gorge. Our property was recently a pine forest, and we are working hard to return it to native bush.

As a result there is plenty of work available for fit and healthy people. Consisting for example of wood splitting, shrub cutting, concreting, construction etc, and also occasional gardening and domestic chores.

We are looking for enthusiastic helpers who are not afraid of a little physical labour. No smoking or heavy drinking. You must be safety conscious and motivated. You will need your own transport to go sightseeing etc as there is no public transport available in Waihi.

In exchange for 4 hours of work per day, we provide private accommodation in a self-sufficient unit surrounded by native bush. This unit sleeps 1-2 people, in a double bed or two singles. In addition we will provide 3 meals per day, with breakfast being self-catered... more inside

I prefer a non smoker, someone who loves cats and baby animals. There could be orphans in boxes in the kitchen for reviving! It can get a bit messy.5 cats live with me on and off so don't come if you are allergic to cats.I like making sausages and my own salted and cured meats as well as my own cider and alcoholic ginger beer. Now I am experimenting with fermented food. I am German, have been living here since 30 years.Farm is 25 km away from Whitianga and Hot Water Beach, so own car would be advantage. It is pretty isolated here and I am not going to town that often, have a lot of DVDs for people to watch an... more inside

We are a small nursery km from Thames. We grow a range of trees and shrubs comprising ornamentals subtropicals and natives. Accommodation is in the house with us. We need to know any food requirements people have as are not vegetarian. Trish is a good cook and her meals are much appreciated. Work is in the nursery or our large landscaped garden which is over 2 acres. Some building and maintenance of buildings and equipment is often needed. We have greenhouses so inside work when wet. The property is on the banks of the Kauaeranga river and the Coromandel Forest Park with good tramping is at the end of the road.We also have a 4 1/2 acre garden which is visited by tour groups in the spring and summer
