We are a family of five living on a communally shared block of regenerating bush land in the Northern Coromandel. We live near wild pristine beaches and have clean streams and waterfalls within walking distance of our home. We are building our dwelling from local timber, earth and stone and have ongoing building projects to help with. We grow organic veges if you are into gardening, planting trees or playing football with the children so we can work on the property!
We strive to be resilient as a community, living off grid - looking after our own watersupplies, solar power, composting toilets etc. Summers are busy here, winter pretty quiet with potluck dinners and potholing the 3km gravel driveway our main communal activity!

We're a young couple living and working on an alternative lifestyle block. Lower section includes an old vintage machinery museum.
House and workshops are built around native kiwi reserve, with local cycle trail and fishing spots located next door. Nice quiet area off state highway 11 with calming views of Opua Harbour.
Five minute drive to Paihia which is central for booking tours, sight seeing opportunities and water activities. We can do pick ups from Kawakawa or Paihia bus stops.
We require general maintenance including: clean up of old museum, organising and relocating equipment establishing bush tracks, gardening, general tidying and upkeep of farm and home that is in dire need of a clean up!
We have two twin rooms, a sleep out and an annoying old man who we’re constantly cleaning up after haha

Tena koutou katoa!
Hullo everyone!

#Warning# ;-)
We enjoy working hard and you will need to as well. We like to host people who are interested in our way of life. We do most things by hand, even if it takes a while sometimes!

We CURRENTLY have lots of fencing, tree planting, gardening, wood chopping.and some building work to do. We are looking for help through winter with gardening and turning trees into firewood.
There will be some orchard maintenance too as well as the usual stuff we try to do!
Experience with a chainsaw would be great, but not essential.

Cooking is on a wood stove, we have a solar panel, no machinery other than a chainsaw, no internet, cellphone reception is limited, no washing machine, no flush toilet. So be warned, it's not everyone's cup of tea! If that sounds okay, read on...

We can offer two double bedrooms and meals in exchange for a minimum of 4 hours work per day. Happy to be flexible with hours to suit for example 1 day off with food and 1 day working. I enjoy cooking but if anyone was interested in being in the kitchen then that works for me too! Weather permitting we'd be happy to take you out for a scenic tour on our small boat or do a spot of fishing! We'd love to hear from you if you're keen to enjoy the Far North. This is a relatively new business for us and has been a little run down so lots to do for everyone. The work is mainly gardening and working outside. We have 3 cats but they don't bite! Our large waterfront property is about 16km from Russell in Clendon Cove. It is flat with fruit and olive trees. Although tidal it is possible to kayak from the property and fish from nearby rocks. We have basic kayaks that you may use.

Accommodation would be in a converted artist studio when not booked for Airbnb.

We are seeking help with outdoor work with the current job being to use a wood splitter to split logs from recently felled trees.
We reckon on an average of 3.5 hours a day, meals provided and are flexible as to how this is achieved.
