We have a block of land covered in scrub and bush that is badly in need of clearing out the weed from the native. We are very lucky to have a very close family and everyone who joins us is part of the adventure.
This is most definitely alternative living and not for the faint hearted. A promise of a good time and a whole new way of living is a certainty.
We are playing with a pretty clear canvas so open to ideas and lots of help.

The sunny house has a large garden, with a swimming pool, one small dog and two cats, and two horses. It is about 8 km from Blenheim in a wine-growing area.

Helpers would sleep in one or two spare bedrooms, and share bathrooms and the kitchen. The host would like help with the fig orchard, house, garden. There is one bicycle a helper could use. I would provide good home cooking for four hours work per day.
The fig season is nearly over.

Our mainland island used to be a large sheep station but we have now let it go back to nature. A major activity apart from our conservation work is catering for visitors who come to get closer to nature in a wild and beautiful place. Work can be looking after those guests, helping with correspondence schooling, home duties or firewood collection, maintaining our track system and other infrastructure, depending on the season.

If you are a experienced caring teacher that is willing to help two reluctant readers to make progress with their school work please get in touch!

We live on a high country station 1 and 1/2 hours from Blenheim. We run merino sheep and cattle. We are looking for somebody to help around the house and doing jobs around the farm and to help look after our two boys aged 12 and 10 at busy times. They do their school at home by correspondence and are very independent but we are looking for someone with enthusiasm that can get along with these outdoors boys.

Own car would be a big help. We would also prefer if you could stay for a week or more. There is heaps of country to explore here and would suit people that are keen on walking, running or mountain biking.

We have a 2.5Ha vineyard growing sauvignon blanc. There is varied work, from bud-rubbing - to wire lifting. Currently we are about to put on bird netting.
Its a lovely little vineyard and previous Helpx travellers have enjoyed staying with us.
We like hosting HelpX workers and appreciate the help on our land.
We are just 15 minutes drive from Blenheim and adjacent to the wine district - so there's plenty to do and see. It's helpful to have your own car.
There's some great hikes close by and the Wairau River is a favourite place to swim and walk the dogs on a hot day.
We look forward to meeting new people.

Cheers
Philippa

Large modern home on 2 acres of land/gardens surrounded by vineyards and wineries on the edge of Blenheim (10 mins drive to town).
We are looking for reliable, clean and tidy people to share our home with in exchange for a couple of hours work in our gardens and property. Sharing the home with us (couple 30-35) and our two dogs (must not be scared of dogs) - no kids.
2 hours garden/maintenance work per day for accommodation only - no meals provided so please bring your own food to cook.
Ideally looking for ~3-4 days stay at a time, would suit people wanting to relax and explore Marlborough for a week. You will need your own car as there is no public transport to our house.
