I'm 5km from Fox Glacier township. We are a 950 cow dairy farm that relies totally on pasture for feed. We milk seasonally with all cows calving in spring (Aug / Sep) and drying off in May. There are various scenic attractions in the area apart from the glacier, some excellent tramping opportunities in the mountains and a few superb hidden beaches. This situation would suit someone who likes animals, enjoys working outdoors and is easy going. Being into outdoor recreation / adventures would make sense. I've traveled and worked extensively in Asia and a few other places.
At the moment I'm looking for someone who has a work visa and can help out on a paid basis for Sep and into Oct as one of my regular staff is finishing. Work will be general farm chores but will hopefully include calf feeding and milking. Experience riding a 4x4 quad bike would be very useful. If this sounds like it might be you, send me a message. Cheers, Kerry

I have a large residential property right in the centre of the small West Coast village of Kumara within 20 minutes drive of the larger shopping centres at Hokitika and Greymouth, and about 60 minutes drive from Arthur's Pass.
Kumara is a relatively quiet old gold mining centre with a local store and hotel/cafe. The town is close to beautiful beaches, the West Coast Wilderness Trail (cycling), and beautiful natural areas including rivers, streams and a small lake.
I am keen to welcome people into my home for short or longer periods to assist me with some basic home, gardening and handyman tasks in exchange for accomodation.
I have some goals to tidy up and better utilise my property, while balancing full time work, such as repairs and painting as I move towards setting up a home stay. I also enjoy meeting people of other cultures and enjoy independent stimulating visitors.
