We don't need helpers at this time. Thanks.

We are currently keen to have some help with weeding and planting in our gardens. We would also love some help with painting. If you are looking to spend spring in the country please contact us. Pick up from Ballarat is available. When you reply please let us know what your skills are.

Are you looking for a country adventure working in the garden or tending the animals or building a fence or two? Maybe you like to cook with just picked ingredients? Please join us so we can all learn together.

We live in a straw bale home that we built ourselves and are off grid. We are hobby farmers with sheep, cattle, chooks, a large orchard and veggie gardens plus an indoor dog.

We are very relaxed and never in a hurry. We know our projects won't be finished in a day so we enjoy the journey of becoming sustainable and at one with the land.

We would some help with weeding and seasonal planting and occasionally larger projects. The animals a... more inside

We are a couple building an earth house and would like to invite anyone who wants to learn about this building method to come and stay and help. We are building in Glenlyon, just 10 minutes drive from Daylesford (natural spa and tourism region of Victoria). It is a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne, or you can get a train to Malmsbury or Ballan and we can pick you up. Glenlyon is a friendly hamlet and we are building on 1 acre, next door to an lovely organic farm and 3 minutes walk from a general store that makes superb lunches/coffee. Rural, but not remote. We live in a neighbouring rental house with a spare room (double bed), plus lots of yard space for a tent. If you would like to come and try your hand at building in Light Straw Clay, please get in touch. You can come for just a couple of days or a bit longer. We are at the stage of filling the walls, so the work consists mainly of making clay slip in a mixer, throwing that together with handfuls of straw into a ‘straw cannon’ and t... more inside

This idyllic 6 hectare hobby farm is located along a creek valley in the foothills of the Dandenong ranges.
Along the creek border is a flora and fauna reserve of more than 100 hectares full of wildlife, complete with walking trails, all accessible from the farm.
Kangaroos and wombats visit every day as do a myriad of native birds such as cockatoos and parrots.
Volunteers can help 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, in a range of tasks including domestic duties, animal care (horses and dogs) and farm work. Contributing to the daily chores of meal preparation, cleaning up after meals is in addition to the farm work. Think of it as being part of the family where you participate and share the chores.
The reward is the special Aussie experience that is on offer. Unique Australian wildlife in a completely natural setting, a warm cosy home and all only an hour and a half from Melbourne by train.
Learn about farm tasks like fencing, organic gardening, horse care etc.

We have an 1861 ex school on two acres we are putting in organic gardens and landscaping including some painting
We are wanting workers for 5-6 days at a time.
The work is fun and we would prefer two people at a time.
At the School live Donna my wife and I we have no children, we are both just 50 and pretty laid back. And run a local newspaper business from our home office, The accommodation offered is new, self-contained and detached from the main house, it is quite spacious with a kitchen dining table and shower toilet bathroom.
We are only nine minutes by car to the beautiful town of Daylesford (Google it!)
We have kangaroos in the wold within walking distance as well as a public dam full of trout two minutes walk away.

As we are a journalist and photographer couple we are always on the road around our district and would love to share our special part of the world with visitors.

Both Donna and I have been backpackers around the world so no what it is like to travel!

Hi there!

We are Russell and Yvonne. We both work full time in our own businesses, Russell owns a bike shop and runs mountain bike tours, I am a painter and gardener/landscaper.

We own a little perma-culture based farm on which we try to be as self-sufficient as possible.

To stay at our farm you need a car as there is no public transport.
We are currently looking for help to: feed animals, build garden beds, plant veggies, help with the cooking and household chaws, general farm work, gardening.
Future projects: finish paint the house and shed on the outside, a house extension, building pergolas, wicking garden-beds, brick paving,...

We are hoping to find someone who is happy to stay for a little while to help us out over summer as we are really busy with work over the next few months.
We have a really lovely lady who came to the farm as a helper for a couple of weeks. That was 3 months ago and she has decided to stay with us full time, so there is someone on th... more inside

Have not hosted for some time but considering it again now, short stay of a week available now. As per reviews, most people that have joined us have thought they were treated fairly.

Comfortable accommodation provided in your own room in main house along with food in return for four hours work a day. Good workers will be well looked after, although as I will be busy working during your time off then I will not be available to socialise with you all the time. Thus if you think you might get lonely, this might not be the place for you.

Work is fairly physical but I wouldn't say it is too terrible. That said, some fitness will definitely be required, the place is far from flat!

Not interested in VISA scheme people needing payment slips and things as that makes things way too difficult. Just help-x workers that want to see somewhere different, and get some exercise, while being put up in some nice surroundings.

Roughly 6 hours of work a day, 6 days a week in exchange for food and board, and an excellent learning opportunity.

One week trial basis.

You will be staying in a small cosy caravan with an extension room. Fireplace, kitchen and outdoor bathroom will allow you your privacy.
