My wife and I live in an old farm house on 3.6 hectares of land adjacent to the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Rural setting. We have beautiful views down the Channel and across to Bruny Island. We are close to the terminal for the ferry to Bruny Island. The property is about half an hour by car or bus from Hobart. 2 lovely old cats. Very peaceful location. Accommodation is with us at the other end of the house with a separate bedroom and bathroom.
The work required is general maintenance and property development to establish organic gardens and pasture. This would include general work around the property to establish gardens and grazing areas, painting the house, etc. Any woodworking skills would be gratefully received.
The whole area is very pleasant to live in.
We are interested in people who wish to stay and work with us for a month or more at a time.

Current update.
I'm in Hobart and looking for people to help with the refurb of another vessel also in Hobart. Accommodation and some food supplied. Hit me up if your keen!

- Shane

I own a fishing vessel that is kept in the docks of Hobart Tasmania. The vessel works the Tasmanian coast harvesting Abalone.

The vessel is 70 feet long and constructed of wood. Its extremly comfortable with 9 berths on three levels, full galley, Austar and two bathrooms.

When the weather permits I and several other divers and deckands take the vessel working around the west coast diving for Abalone.

I can sign the second visa form also.
If you wish to stay knowledge of boats is not necessary however if going to sea, you must understand that we cannot drop you off. The trips generally last around 4-5 days. Charter vessels charge around $2500 for what you get for free!
When at sea just generally helping out would be appreciated. Cleaning and helping with cooking ect

Hello my name is Angela and I am the person searching for someone suitable to take the following position and opportunity.

There is a beautiful property 40 minutes North of Hobart that requires a lovely person (mature female preferred) to live and work on the property. Lee is a severely physically disabled quadriplegic man requiring care and he and his father are offering two different scenarios.

First scenario is a lovely self-contained accommodation, next to the main house. It is fully renovated, one-bedroom, completely private bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Second scenario is a nice private bedroom inside the main house, shared bathroom and shared kitchen (toilet and bathroom will mostly be yours except for occasional use by other carers).

The property is 20 acres, mostly paddocks but around the house is a couple of acres with amazing gardens and water features. There are sheep, chickens, and a cat called Sophie!

They are looking for someone more long-term, minim... more inside

Hi there,

I am looking for experienced horse people and/or a builder/diy handyman with the spirit to help create something great! What I expect from you is team spirit and a "let's do this" attitude.
I live on a beautiful off-grid property next to a mountain and the lovely Bluff River Gorge on the East Coast of Tasmania, approximately 1 hour from Hobart.
The daily tasks are mostly centered around the horses but meanwhile there are also heeps of other projects going on. We have some fences to built/moved,wood needs to be chopped and split and many other smaller challenges occur every day.
However,it's not just about work of course. Music, dancing, laughing, good food, little road trips and interesting conversations are part of the package.

We have 3 main trail rides in the State Forest with a ride going out almost every day. We also school some of our horses on the dressage arena. We have some horses just starting, some new ones to educate into the trail team and two foal... more inside

We are a small property located about 30 minutes from Hobart on the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
We have some chickens, cattle and a very loving, happy dog called Gus.
Along with our 12 year old son Benny, we try to grow most of our own food and maintain our extensive garden and grounds.
We have a large home and visitors have exclusive use of the bottom of the house which has 2 large bedrooms with queen size beds, own bathroom and laundry facilities. It is very modern, comfortable and warm.
We need help getting the garden in order and general tidy up around the property. Benny is very active and loves playing so you need to enjoy being around children.
In exchange for 4-5 hours work a day, we will provide board, breakfast and dinner provisions. Hours are flexible and you may prefer to work longer days and take time off to explore this beautiful part of the world.
Ari is a keen fisherman so if the weather is good and you like fishing he would be happy to take you.

Farming, fishing on the seafront in beautiful Tasmania.
Our farm uses polyculture, permaculture, organic and wholistic farming principles, our aim is to ever increase our ability to work with nature for the benefit of the land, animals and people.

Our location is amazing beautiful sea views, great beaches, excellent national parks with fantastic walks to explore in spare time.

We farm free range pigs, plus we enjoy fishing, so seafood will be on menu. We also farm organic vegetables, so plenty of fresh food

Have young son 6 years old so if you love kids thats a big bonus!

Prefer stay of 2 weeks or more, longer welcome and no smokers please..

I look forward to hearing from you. :)

Hi I am Bo,
I have a sunny hillside property on the Tasman Peninsula and am in the process of setting up my home and a small market garden and farm project. I am drawing inspiration from permaculture, biodynamics, natural farming and regenerative farming. There is plenty of activities to help with including fencing, fertilising, planting, green house building, grafting fruit trees, building... the list goes on.

I can offer accommodation(will be quite rustic), food to sustain(eggs and meat from the farm and veges in the warmer months) and farming, growing, nutrition, healing, self sufficiency knowledge and theory.
Accommodation may be your own cute little tin cabin which is self contained. This cabin is fully insulated with a wood heater so I can host Helpers ALL YEAR ROUND.

The lifestyle here is very basic and simple: limited power and rainwater, outdoor shower (though it is in a nice covering), and a composting loo.
The Tasman Peninsula has a lot to offer and i can help ... more inside
