Hello there...(23 April update) We have a helper.
Updating and touching base with helpx.net

We are usually searching, for a motivated, enthusiastic and a strong helper to help with gardening.

We finished building an extension to the rear of the house. But now are landscaping

You could learn brick laying, concreting and general building, woodwork and decking.

We moved into my family home to care for my 83 year old mother, in my spare time, I'm working on the garden and adapting the house for my mothers needs.
We live in a simple house in the university town of Loughborough in Leicestershire.

We ask for 4 hours per day of your time for a clean private room and healthy meals.
We regularly eat meat, but welcome veggies.. Love curries, marmite and traditional English ..

length of the stay varies but is minimum 1 week.

There is always a chance to help out cooking, shopping, tidying and house sitting.

Have a black Labrador "Mutley" and a black cavapoo "Jet".

COVID-19: *3 bedrooms free in our 6-bedroom house*
we hope that the very nature of helpx creates a low-risk and infrequent movement of food-workers. Our farm would benefit profusely with more hands and we would follow national guidelines to reduce risk. We are delivering veg-boxes on a weekly basis to local households and have to keep this is mind with bringing in new volunteers. We believe any risks are massively outweighed by the production of food for the community.

New nature-centric farm project in North Cornwall.

Microdairy. Pigs. Chickens. Vegetables. Fruit.
Surfing. Walking. Nature.

We have been here since November 2019 and are setting up the farm to produce the best food we can and promote nature.

We have nearly finished building a timber workshop and will soon have a good woodworking shop. Next we will be refurbishing an old shop building and a Showman's Wagon. We are moving our home towards being off-grid: digging the well and getting a pump working, increasing solar hot water capacity and installing photo-voltaic panels.
We have a few chickens plus Eva dog and Eric the cat. We have a large garden with a vegetable plot. We enjoy life: working hard, meeting new people and cycling around the South West, especially if it involves a good Somerset pub... We need help with carpentry and building projects, gardening, dog-walking. We can consider long term stays after a trial period.

We are happy to help people learn English and suggest ways to discover our area. We can lend bikes for helpers to get around and explore the countryside. Our village is small and quiet and the area is very beautiful. Somerset is a county with many contrasts: hills, moors, coast and towns.

Sadly, like everyone else in the UK, we are in lockdown due to Coronavirus. Under current restrictions, non-essential travel is banned and all households are banned by law from receiving visitors. The lockdown is in place until at least mid-May, and probably a lot longer. Consequently, we canít consider any helpx applications for the foreseeable future. Thanks for your interest; stay safe and well.

Our 17th century farmhouse is home to Piers, Sue, three young people aged 19-23 (two are away at university), two house cats and a small, very friendly dog. Our stay length is two, occasionally three, weeks.

We offer helpxers comfortable accommodation in a prime tourist area, excellent food and a genuine welcome, in return for a fair level of physical work. It's a great opportunity for people who are keen to stay in a family environment and learn stuff about country living. We usually take helpxers one at a time; sometimes we have two people here.

Our home is within sight of the ... more inside

Would you like to build a hobbit house?
At the moment I am looking for two people with skills in sustainable building to build a cabin at the bottom of the garden using reclaimed materials.
In exchange bedroooms and sitting room are available in a semi detached house nestling at the foot of the Mendip Hills in beautiful Somerset, plus yummy meals, one and a half miles from the tiny gem of the city of Wells, six miles from unique Glastonbury, twenty miles from Bristol and Bath There is a good bus service to all these places, with buses running every half an hour til late. Railway stations are 15 miles away, as is Bristol Airport. I can also provide transport.
Help is also required creating a garden and digging a pond and some house maintenance, in exchange for scrumptious meals, warm and comfortable home, shared bathroom and kitchen and/or self catering. I would prefer fit, able bodied souls who have some practical/building/landscaping knowledge.
I am willing to act as guide fo... more inside

Hello,

Are you available in the period of March and April for a month or more?

We are having a major reorganization and we needs hands with mostly moving things around. Hardly any outside gardening work this time of year.

Manual car drivers are most welcome.

Are you flexible with a "can-do" attitude?

If this sounds like you we need you!

Other help needed all year round:
There are many different tasks that we need help with. We will find the tasks that best suit your abilities and interests. As the work here is varied, a flexible "can-do" attitude is best. Here are some of the types of people we are looking for:

DIYers: There are various do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, including repairing fences, maintenance work on the grounds, painting, and other general repairs.

Gardeners: planting, watering, cutting grass, trimming, weeding

Cleaners: light cleaning of communal areas and getting areas ready for when new people arrive. We also sometimes have ironing an... more inside

We would like to meet a couple who would like to do some fence painting, erect some shelving in the workshop and enjoy some light gardening work. We have a well stocked garden tool shed and about every tool you would need. Also it would be a bonus if you are interested in cooking in a well stocked kitchen and pantry.

Besides the garden I do have a well equipped engineering workshop capable of handling metal working and wood working. I have, in hand, a 200 year old pitch pine Welsh dresser that is half restored and needs some tender love and care all the rubbing down has been completed! Also I restore WWII workshop machinery and would love some help to finish a universal milling machine. Also on the waiting list is a 3.0 metre vertical drilling machine

We now seem to be in better health but we do need some assistance in maintaining the garden and outbuildings. We would prefer to take on a male/female couple who would enjoy our company as well as their own!

We live in a very... more inside

Student Accommodation and Digital Music Studio in Oxford -
†† † Hi there - I have 2 houses† where I provide accommodation for International students - I have 2 or 3 students in each house - Oxford is a great international and multi-cultural study centre and its easy to feel at home in this city. The students who live with me are either Uni / postgrad or researchers - they are usually independent and busy with their studies/research - so this is not like a hostel -but they are happy to have a chat when they are around.

I need a helper to assist me in both houses in basic house-keeping duties - cleaning, some house repairs, gardening, food preparation, etc. † In connection with the studio, maybe some basic IT work. No skills are required for either job, however your english level should be enough to know the names of basic cleaning and building tools. You should learn these before arrival. The work is more suitable for a male person and I can only accept one person at a time. ... more inside

Well, my daughter and I were supposed to start building a timber frame house in 'Wikihouse' system from scratch on a 1 acre paddock/orchard in Kingsbridge, South Devon Coast, South West England from Mach 2020. Thats not gonnae happen is it? But for two reasons:The pandemic, obviously, but also that Eda has decided to continue traveling as a journalist through South America and I have to rethink management, as I am working full time in the NHS.

I have moved now into my 3x3 meter shed I made from reclaimed bridge timber, and have now the whole Summer to get the plot sorted, yurts pitched, bathrooms and kitchen's built etc. While I get professionals in to get the foundations out the way. I even managed to get electricity now, but am still working on the water, ha.
If you fancy basic lifestyle in a great place to help give me a shout.
I would also be most interested in having skilled support to install a small hydro turbine in my little stream at the bottom of the plot, any elec... more inside
