We have self catering tourism businesses in Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, Perthshire in the Scottish Highlands. We previously had a guesthouse and have hosted happy volunteers for a number of years!
We have just refurbished a beautiful old manse house next to Loch Tummel and are currently letting that out as well as our self catering lodges.
We need people to help with weekly changeovers between guests. This involves cleaning, tidying and preparing the properties for the new arrivals.
We are also looking for volunteers with a love of gardening and outdoor work for help with landscaping a large pond and garden we are currently re-establishing in our two acre garden in Foss.

We are Tina and Norman, we are very adaptable, friendly and have run all aspects of our own small businesses for a long time now.
We have two daughters Kirsty, 26, Ailie, 25 and a son Calum who is 18. Our five dogs Whisky, Coco, Millie, Beauly and Tala are very friendly and popular with our Helpex guests.

Set in the beautiful countryside just on the Welsh border. Close to areas of special scientific interest, meres, mosses and canals.
We farm in a mostly organic way, sheep, poultry, rescued horses.also rescued dogs. We would like help from people with abilities in construction, fencing or logging or those who wish to care for the animals.
Our gardens and hedgerows are left for the benefit of the many rare birds and insects.
Due to failing health we need help to continue our work. This is rural but not remote. There is limited bus service within one mile and trains three miles away.( The nearest town) We do provide bicycles and help to travel where possible.
The work is outdoors and mainly physical, so willingness to muck in and muck out in all weathers is essential. Together with an empathy for what we do. We welcome help from anywhere but please only people who have read and understand the basic profile. This is a very busy place and we don't have time to spend days messaging ba... more inside

We live on a beautiful farm near Ullapool in the Highlands of Scotland surrounded by hills by a sea loch and with a lively village seven miles away. Accommodation is usually a mobile home with a shower and heating, adjacent to the farmhouse but warmer arrangements are made in the winter. We farm cows, and help is needed with feeding them, fencing, basic joinery and general farm work as well as drivng, and sometimes helping with the NHS hindcull, which is an amazing experience. Helpxes generally enjoy themselves and we have enjoyed having them. The highland experience is very unique, the people interesting and friendly. There will be an experienced supervisor and the next door farms have volunteers too who will socialise with those helping here in the local village which has live music. We find helpxes over 25 as they can drive on our insurance most suitable and those who like the outdoor life and are strong fit, responsible and eager to learn new skills enjoy themselves the most. I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I live with my husband Richard who is a computer manager, and our newest family member, a rather naughty little puppy.
We have built a straw bale house in our garden, We keep bees and run a Community Orchard. We are looking for a native Spanish speaker with a good accent to speak Spanish to our grandchildren, who live down the road from me. They are 3 and 5 years old.
We will probably now not need any help until the Spring, February at the earliest. Then we have decking to power wash and re-paint, sails to put in place, some painting - both external and internal - and a brick walll to build.
Plus the normal garden, house and child care work.
In return I will help the volunteer to improve their English, and you have a nice bedroom and bathroom and good food which is mainly vegetarian.
We have an internationally renowned Art Gallery in Wakefield, a wonderful Sculpture Park, and the University city of Le... more inside

We're a multi-generational household looking for someone helpful and relaxed to come and stay for a week or two. There's lots to get involved with including various garden projects, hanging out with an 8 month old, helping with some housework and potentially sharing permaculture-inspired design ideas for our beautiful but underused space.

In return for an average of 5 hours work a day (we can be flexible with how this is spread through the week) we can offer you your own room, meals together in the evening and all your food while you're in the house in a peaceful rural location with frequent trains to London half an hour's walk away (always happy to give you a lift into town if we're around).

Our house is friendly and warm and a bit of a mess and there are often people popping in and there's a barbecue and a firepit and we'll drink together and we eat meat and we have a mad cat - if all this sounds like your cup of tea get in touch :-) We have been 'helpers' ourselves durin... more inside

Hi,

We are very lucky to have a beautiful pocket of land set in the rolling hills of Devon, surrounded by stunning countryside. We are looking for help with various small projects. We're in Mid Devon and it's half hour drive to lovely beaches, 15 minutes into the historic city of Exeter and half hour to Dartmoor.

The land is a mixture of meadow bordered by traditional hedges, deciduous trees and has a lovely little stream running along one side. There gare 3 hectares in total, we have half and the other half belongs to friends. We are a small alternative community where everyone has their own home but come together for social... more inside

The Erraid Community is a small island off the Isle of Mull (Inner Hebrides) and part of the Findhorn Foundation Community. As a spiritual land-based community we live and work together as custodians of the island and cottages that were built for the northern lighthouse board in the 1860s. Our life is very practical whilst living with spiritual principles. Our main role here as custodians of the island is to maintain the cottages and outbuildings. This involves: painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, maintaining the many sash windows, metal work, fencing and much more. Our second priority is keeping our aim of trying to live off the land as much as we can, we have organic gardens, two poly-tunnels and many chickens. Alongside that we are running a guest programme called Love in Action, and we offer retreats. Please read more on www.erraid.com.

We have space from Saturday 25th of May untill Saturday 6th of July.
Or from Saturday 7th of September onwards.
