WE'RE GEARING UP FOR A NEW & HAPPY YEAR 2020....

Our Provencal olive farm and self-catering holiday Gite apartment is only 24km from Mediterranean beaches on the Cote d Azur. In fact, you can see the sea from the olive groves and the cabanon near the house!
The house is a typical Provencal bastide, built at the head of a secluded valley in 95 acres of Mediterranean olive groves and woodland.
It is backed by a dramatic circle of cliffs in the form of a horseshoe which protects it from the Mistral winds and is only 2 kms from the village which you can see down in the valley. The views are amazing... see more photos in our website http://olives-en-provence.com/galerie-en/
And behind the house there are 3,000 ha of national forestry with walks in an unspoiled and protected natural environment full of wildlife; wild boar, roe deer, foxes, martens, buzzards, hawks and several eagles among all the other lesser species.

Really useful (but not essential because we can teach you!) ... more inside

We are currently looking for:
* 1 or 2 helpers to paint and varnish the door and window frames of the house, and to oil the large dining table, then treat and paint our metal garden tables. These tasks will normally be mixed with help in the garden
*an experienced vegetable grower/market gardener for a stay of 1-3 months, to plan and prepare the next 2 seasons.
* Someone with practical experience in forest gardens and permaculture in warm temperate to sub-tropical climates would be useful to really get our project going.
*Other specialist skills we are looking for at the moment include fencing, repairing dry stone walls, building a new chicken house.

We prefer to take helpers who are available for longer stays and the minimum time helping here really is a full two weeks : 1 to 3 helpers in the vegetable garden, and to help with clearing the undergrowth in 1 ha of forest.

This is a working garden and we are often very busy, so to enjoy their stay here helpers need to be... more inside

Lucie and I are both working as teachers, part-time. We are open-minded tolerant people, meat may or may not be in the fridge, no smoking in the house. WiFi/WLAN.
Our old farmhouse has view over the rhine valley to the black forest, located in a little village close to the hills of the vosges.
We can use help in and around the house, just as well as in the garden and orchard. Since we have several remodeling projects, mechanical, remodeling or building skills are welcome, but not required. You can learn by helping me. And it already helps a lot, if someone takes care of the cooking. The last helper made us happy with his piano passion. Any art project, murals, installations, I am open for ideas.
In fall we harvest walnuts and use them for bakery. Fall is also the time to find porcini in the nearby forests. We dry them, just as the apples and pears from the orchard. In winter we cut trees and make firewood. In the summer we harvest berries for jam, plumes and mirabelles are put i... more inside

*** From January 16 looking for someone to help out while Anthony recuperates from surgery. Assisting with daily activities including poo picking and garden tasks.
Could also help our daughter with a short thermal imaging project where fluent French and horse handling skills would be helpful - but all applicants considered. ***

We are an anglo-belgian couple retired to France with our 2 horses and miniature shetland pony. French additions to our family include 2 dogs and the chickens. We are active in the local community and there are often events or meals to attend where French is freely spoken. Horses are a big part of our lives.

We would like to take on helpers to help and participate with everyday life which is getting harder as we get older! Possible jobs include: helping with the horses and miniature pony as a groom (helping mucking out and poo picking daily, feeding, taking them out to fields, grooming, fencing) and work in the garden such as weeding, waterin... more inside

Hi there
If you love Animals, Art, Food, Wellbeing and meeting interesting people...and are not scared of hard work, then Le Peyrail is your perfect Help X venue for this Winter/spring.
Right now, I am looking for someone or a couple who love animals, nature and the outdoors who would be able to help me in the garden and around the house/studio’s.
One big project for this spring is sanding down and repainting the shutters , I have a great barn space to carry out the work and with two people it should take around a week in total .
The garden is a series of terraces leading to a large orchard and a field beyond where the horses and geese live. The work required here is cutting back some of this years greenery, clearing terraces of leaves and maintaining the ponds.
The other exciting project for spring for those of you with green fingers is establishing the herb beds and kitchen garden.
A little about myself ‘-
I am an Artist/Picture restorer and I run an Arts Centre and C... more inside

After 5 years on the road across 5 different continents, Julien and I have finally settled some roots on the frontier between Brittany and Normandy. Julien is a carpenter, sound engineer and musician from Normandy. I am a nurse, naturopath, massage therapist, dancer and hula-hoop artist from Australia.

Together we are embarking on an epic barn restoration, in the hopes of creating a community living and creative space. The barnhouse was built in the late 1800's and has been uninhabited for the last 30 years. There are a variety of construction and renovation works to be done. We are restoring the barn using traditional artisanal techniques with natural or recycled materials. Looking for handymen or handywomen to help out with construction and renovation all year. Skills in stonemasonry, carpentry and roofing highly sought. We are also hoping to convert an old stable into an artistic studio, for musicians, dancers, circus performers to come and be inspired by nature in their creat... more inside

Especially interested in helpers with experience in tree surgery..

Helper opportunities during September, November and December.

We are very willing to host helpers, but on the basis of no more than two persons for a maximum of two weeks during the Summer.

We are a retired English couple, living in Lower Normandy with a pygmy goat, 2 obnoxious geese, Podge the dog and 5 attention seeking cats. We need help with animal care, gardening, renovations and cleaning in exchange for board and lodging. Some heavy outdoor manual work may be involved. Helpers must be prepared to cuddle up with a cat or dog occasionally! We can share with you animal husbandry skills, local culture and history and can help to improve your French or English language. No shopping malls or clubs - you must be prepared for a very simple but peaceful way of living. Suit helpers looking for an experience away from the rat race. Vegetarians catered for and we have a large library of English books, wireless bro... more inside
