Description

Hello, I'm traveling by inland river barge through Europe, especially France, Belgium and Holland. The barge is an original Dutch built peniche and made for the old French channels. I still transport cargo and I am the third generation of a shipper family from both sides of my parents. I live and work alone on the barge sometimes accompanied by my girlfriend.

There is a simple separate -little- room (see photo..)for guests in the front of the barge which is not suite. (no sanitation, but there is a chemical toilet and lavabo) Also a heating system, fridge/freezer and micro-wave.

The work to do depends on the person, maybe some cleaning, housekeeping work, shopping and cooking??? And serving the aperitif of the skipper of course at 18h00 exactly..LOL.

My intention is to make contact with other people and have an exchange of cultures.

Kind regards,

William

Eco farming, building and tourism. !!!

Summerseason is nearly over and we're going back to all the projects again! There's plenty to do on the land, making this place even more beautiful than it already is.

Work during the next months will be:
Expanding the area for the donkeys, creating a new water system for irrigation and grey water, building another shower and toilet. There's some fencing work for a new vegetable garden and orchard and much more...
During the next months untill the weather will change usually at the end December, most work be outside, after that there's plenty of inside jobs.

I am trying to vary the working days, so no one gets bored and to give you the chance of choosing which kind of work you prefer, so everyone feels comfortable with what he/she is doing.

More about the ongoing projects:
We still have an organic walnut plantation on the program! 4 Hectares (10 acres ) of land has been cleared, first job is a fence, then the trees will go in t... more inside

I’m a single french woman, 54, who lives in Normandy, in a seaside town called Cabourg, 15 min walk from the beach. I work at home, I’m really busy and not in a great shape just right now.

So, I’m looking for someone who can help me with the everyday housekeeping (emptying the dishwasher, dealing with the laundry, ironing, hoovering, shopping, preparing meals.) some gardening. (3-4hrs a day - 5 days per week) but I’m quiet flexible. I’m an easy going person.

I can offer a bedroom with double bed, so it’s ok for one or two persons. Good food. You will have wifi access. 2 bikes are available too.

I speak English, if you need to practise or improve your French, it will be a pleasure to help you.

Looking forward to meeting you.
Marilyne

Winter is arriving and i need help on my secluded and quiet horse farm in the beautiful Limoges area of central France, at Retabout, soon to be the home of some elephants as my next door neighbours are building an elephant sanctuary!. I have two horses however. The horses live in freedom, yet still need handling and caring for. I have a natural horsemanship approach and know how to do a natural hoof trim, which I can teach you.
I have got MS and that's why I am limited in my energy
There is also work to be done with the fences, clean out the barns, driving a tractor to clear meadows and feed the horses hay, work in the garden and other farm type work. If you are a mechanic you can help with the two antique tractors.

I am looking for people that can help me in the either of following ways:
- all the kinds of work mentioned above. You help me about 4 hours a day, i offer free meals and accomodation
- you help 2 hours a day and I offer accomodation. You organize your own meals... more inside

Originally from the North East of Scotland we moved to Central France and bought the abandoned farm in 2008 after selling up in Scotland in 2006 and down-sizing to a camper-van with our two huge dogs and touring around Europe looking for the right place to put down some roots. We are working towards being as self-sufficient as possible-renovating the buildings and developing the land using eco-friendly, sustainable techniques, resources and energy. We have one hectare of land surrounding the house and a further 2 hectares of overstood, abandoned coppiced woodland that we are attempting to regenerate to provide our fuel; building materials; material for basket-making; charcoal-making etc. and just for being a beautiful place to spend time in and have fun!
The hectare of land is divided into pasture for animals and a potager/vegetable garden and orchard for food production. We are joining up these areas to create an all-encompassing "forest garden".
We have recently given up our g... more inside

I am now well settled in my new home and the only work I now need doing is tidying up around the house and garden and a few jobs indoors.
I have 2 cats who live with me, and often have friends dogs to stay, so you have to get on with the animals, accommodation will be in a double room ,living as part of the family, helping with general household chores etc, vegetarians are welcome but I am afraid I feel unable to confidently cook for vegans , non-smokers please

Come and enjoy a unique experience in a beautiful area of Southern France! The last natural one on this coast.

I am very welcoming and love to share my enthusiasm and energy for the project with people. I am always excited to meet new people get them involved. I am French and speak English and a little Spanish.

The property is a 300-year-old farm house set in 8 hectares (20 acers) of land. Situated 800m from cote d’azure just outside the town of Sanary Sur Mer and only 45 minutes by train from Marseille in the direction of Toulon. Our nearest station being Ollioules-Sanary/Mer.

The projects will include, renovating several rooms within the property, clearing the land, starting a vegetable garden, roofing a small outhouse, planting 100 olive trees and creating an outdoor bathroom for alfresco bathing! To name a few.

In restoring the inside of the property, we are looking to bake our own paints with natural dies, ochre etc.

This is a huge project and we are looking... more inside

We live in a small hamlet but 10 mins to a very pretty lake with swimming and beached area. It is a very pretty place to live. We are 25 mins to Montlucon, which has lots of shops and things to do. We are 2 hours from the volcanoes of Puy de Dome. Well worth a visit. We have 1 dog and lots of cats.

We have just recently become an association for Cat Rescue & Rehoming Centre.

We need a builder/carpenter. We need to do up a large room to make a cat room. This requires having the floor dug up and cement laying, also windows fitted, ceiling done, plasterboarding and then plastering. And other stuff.

So if you are an animal lover and would love to help us. Then this may be the job for you.

We do have accommodation be it not great, but you could also put up tents or bring caravans, mobile homes. We would offer good food and wine. We would very much appreciate any help that anyone could give and we would make you feel most welcome.
