We are Jeff and Jeanette, an active 56-year old married couple. Jeff is a mechanical engineer and track and cross country coach, Jeanette is a baker and owns a mastectomy shop. We love sledding in the winter, Jeff runs year round, Jeanette plays tennis, and we both stay very busy. We also have a lab mix and a cat.

We live on 5 acres that is mostly grass in a ranch-style home with a basement. But because our jobs keep us so busy we could often use a little help around the house and property. Jobs might include mowing on a riding lawn mower, painting, cleaning, laying flooring, etc. Even sewing or helping bake when Jeanette is busy. We are currently redoing the basement so if you have experience laying carpet or replacing ceiling tiles your skills might be called on. During the spring, fall and summer we have a small vegetable garden that might need tending and in the winter snow often needs shoveled off the walkway and firewood need stacked and cut. We ask for four hours of work a... more inside

We have forty acres of land less than a mile from the south shore of Lake Superior and about 2 miles from Cornucopia, Wisconsin and its wonderful beaches. Corny is a small town with general store, coffee shop, two restaurants, Lost Creek Adventures Kayak rentals, and a commercial fishing operation at the harbor (Fresh Fish!). We are also a couple miles from the start of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and the trail head for the Meyers Beach sea caves.
We are an older couple, trying to move into retirement and develop a bit of a homestead at the same time. We have a creek flowing through the property, a pond stocked with fish, a hoop-house half built, chickens, a horse, dog, etc.

Currently our living arrangement offering is just a small hardshell camper that sleeps two (if the two are used to sleeping close). It has a tiny kitchen and really tiny bathroom/shower, and a big front yard (it's not near the house). We may be buying a Yurt and we are interested in building... more inside

Home is located on family farm near small rural community in west central Ohio. Guests / helpers would stay in private bedrooms of timber frame home and help with general upkeep and maintenance inside and out. Plenty of outside tasks including landscaping, painting, and creating nature trails around the lake and through the woods.

Small-scale, highly diverse organic flower farm in the heart of Illinois. This is my second year in business and first season on this property. I have a 40 member flower CSA, sell at a weekly farmers market, and arrange flowers for special events like weddings, baby showers, and birthdays. I'm looking for volunteers to help out with planting, weeding, bouquet making, and more! I have a couple rooms available in my civil war era farmhouse but some volunteers prefer to camp on the beautiful property.

We built our home in the woods in the midst of the city, on an island surrounded by pleasant rivers. Our property is on a walk to trail that runs north to south through the city. We are also next to a large wooded park. HelpXers stay in our attached guest house.

Seeking strong, experienced Helpers who come well recommended, to dig and level out areas for a stone exterior walkway. Especially looking for anyone with hardscape experience to lay the walkway, advise on stone and underlying foundation sand/rock and possibly help build a set of stone steps and a small stone landing (all exterior.)

As a backpacker recently returned from my adventure abroad in New Zealand using Helpx, I can't wait to open my home to other backpackers!

My life is simple back home - as a uni student I currently live with my mother over the summer, waitressing in the evenings here in a typical small Wisconsin town - Baraboo. During the day, I'm looking for a helper to help me sort through our belongings, as we will be moving soon and would appreciate some help sorting, organizing, and packing. We don't own much though, so this isn't a huge task - perhaps 2 hours a day, a few days a week. Mostly, I am looking for awesome fellow backpackers to hike, kayak, and bike around this beautiful area of Wisconsin. We'd love to offer a place for you to stay and a small family to be a part of while you are traveling! Like I said, I mostly just want to give back to the backpacking community by offering a free place to stay and an fun enthusiastic tour guide (me!) to this area!

Baraboo has a lot to offer... more inside

Dear Traveler,

We would like to welcome you to Saint Paul, Minnesota! We had wonderful experiences as HelpX hosts at our home in Norway (we moved back to the US in 2013) and would like to do the same here in the USA! We are centrally located between the Twin Cities with easy access to both downtowns via the new train system as well as many amenities within walking and biking distance (such as: http://www.comozooconservatory.org/attractions/gardens/sunken-gardens/#/info)

We would like to open our guestroom to people willing to help us with small tasks around our 1926 home. In exchange for a room and organic vegetarian meals we would like (4-6 hours a day) help with painting (all natural, non-toxic paints), cleaning, gardening, small remodeling projects, cooking and possibly child care (our daughter is 2). We can negotiate the terms based on your needs and ours.

We are travelers at heart and would love to hear about your adventures.

Hope to be meeting you soon! ... more inside
