Hello guys!
We are making some projects around Indonesia concerning art project, organic farming , English classes and creative recycling. The recent project is located in a semi jungle, Palopo Village, South Sulawesi Indonesia, close to Tanah Toraja and seeks to educate young people in language, art and environmental awareness.

My motivation:
I have come from Berastagi, Northern Sumatera and moved to Palopo to make this project happen. I want to help this small village because many people are not able to speak English here but really want to learn it as it opens up their future possibilities and understanding of the world around them.

Most of all I want to develop a connection between all human beings. We come from different countries, speak different languages, have different skin colors – but we are all the same. We need the same things! There is no difference.

The world is not about money, it is about sharing, helping each other and spreading love and energy. Theref... more inside

Hello! We are looking for creative individuals to help us with a community development project in Central Java. The Desa Eco-Logika is beginning to transform into the eco-village of our dreams. At the moment we have a waste management and recycling center located in an old animal barn. In that area, we need help building compost and working with/leading the local youth group who manage the site. They find it very special and interesting to hang out with foreigners, so you might be come a bit of a mini-celebrity.

Another part of the village is the library and resource center. The building has been built, and we are looking forward to soon furnishing and stocking the shelves with books. If you have any eco-skills you are willing to teach, we can arrange an informal class for locals! We've just started experimenting with hydroponics.

Behind the Library is the site for our permaculture garden. We're just now clearing the lands of weeds, and with your help can start planting! We ... more inside

This is a Vocational High School, it was founded in 1987 by Dr. Silahudin MA, father of the actual Principal.
The purpose of the creation of this vocational school was to teach children improve and develop their skills and gain experience while learning civic and human rights. This way, we try to give them the proper education to go through school and graduation, while building their path for their future and University.

Most of the students are from Sukabumi, but we have 35 who are living in the school, but in total we have a number of 800 of children registered in the school.

Hi dear English speaking travellers. We run an educational centre situated in Bohorok, close to Bukit Lawang. It provides free English classes to primary and secondary school children and evening classes for adults. The program is run by local and foreign volunteers.

Volunteers will be asked to help out teaching the English classes, which is two hours a day. Additionally, you can help out with small tasks around the house if you'd like such as painting or advertising. This is a rare opportunity for someone who loves working with wood and old boats. A 125 year old humanitarian sailing vessel in quite good condition that every year delivers 15 to 20 tons of donated educational and medical supplies to remote island communities in South East Asia. Each year we sail roughly 7,000 miles ranging from Thailand to the far reaches of Eastern Indonesia and back. The boats crew usually consists of 4. It's family environment and we are all volunteers, so no salary worth mentioning.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in classic wooden boat care. You must be able to cook (we take turns), amuse yourself, learn fast and be able to work without close supervision, work well with your hands, enjoy wood and rope work, not get sea sick, eat just about anything - although we do eat pretty well - willing to learn and work hard at all hours. This is not a free vacation. We work very hard and you will be fully expected to pull your weight. But we do see ... more inside

Hello everyone,
My name is Santi. I am an English teacher in a Secondary School in Sukabumi, West Java. I have been teaching English since 2005. I am a young Mum with three lovely sons. I, my brother and other English teachers are running an English school in the afternoon named “Rakas English School”. Rakas English School is an afterschool activity. It is a non-profit school which helps local students to learn English.
We are looking for female or couple volunteers to help improving our student’s English. We are also still learning English. We need volunteers who are able to speak English fluently either native or non-native speakers. We do not really need a teaching experience, but if volunteers have a tecahing experience will be awesome. If you are a native speaker, you will have an opportunity to share or teach English in a university, because they are learning English as their major.
Without practicing English with English speaking-people will be useless. They always feel n... more inside
