We offer board and lodging to people wanting to experience rural life in a small remote town in the south west of WA in exchange for help 5 hours per day. The farm is situated in a farming area has magnificent views and wild Kangaroos and Emus. The farm is 12 kms from a very small town and transport is poor. Work is gardening, helping with lavender harvest, stripping machine, sieving.

We have a menagerie of animals including Guinea Fowl, Peacocks, Turkey's,Chickens and a wonderful but overly affectionate dog!

We have a tearooms and a gift shop but only open occasionally due to low tourist numbers. Work could include assisting in the kitchen, serving customers etc

Accommodation is either our guest room depending in availability or upstairs in our mezzanine.

We also have a house in Bunbury and stays in Bunbury can also be arranged in return for help cleaning, gardening etc

We live in Pickering Brook situated in the hills of Perth on a small hobby farm. You will be treated to views of orchards and jarrah forests your own caravan or our accommodation.
We have a small herd of milking goats, some sheep and the usual chickens and dogs.. We milk goats morning and afternoons, this entails, feeding the animals and at times baby goats as well as daily mucking out, general labouring, gardening etceteras, work can vary depending on the season. The goats are great company and love a cuddle. You will have separate accomodation with shower, toilet and living area and also room to park a caravan or camper van . Unfortunately we are unable to cater for vegetarians, vegons or assist with any visa requirements.
Pickering Brook is just 25kms to perth CBD and 10 Km to Kalamunda which has shops, cafes, and local wineries.... We look forward to your company as of December. 2012

We travel to Armadale at least once daily where there is access to 2 main shopping centres & train station for access to Perth City. Access to internet is available during office hours.
