I will probably be visiting the Yucatan region, as I have read so much about it and am slightly obsessed with Mayan culture - friendly travelling companions would be welcome!
I'm heading to Ecuador for the month of May and would love to gain experience helping out local communities in whatever way is necessary and get to know the local lifestyle!
I will be moving to Colombia in mid-January 2016. I am a medieval historian with a passion for culture, languages, and learning new skills. I've decided I need a break from academia, so I'm moving to Colombia (though I won't necessarily stay there and am open to the idea of moving to a different Latin-American country), and would really love to learn some new skills there and experience the country's renowned culture, friendliness, and natural beauty!
I am open to many different scenarios during my experience in South America, but for starters I am intrigued by the idea of combining learning about eco-sustainable farming and community building, and helping to educate children and young people who might have limited possibiilties of accessing diverse knowledge-bases.
I specialised in monastic history during my latest studies, and would love any info on monastic communities or missions in this part of the world, and any way that I could help out or contribute to these communities and their work.
I am a skilled researcher, teacher, and event organiser. I speak English and Itaian fluently, and am learning Spanish, but also speak French quite well, and have smatterings of a few other languages. My hobbies include knitting, reading, swimming, yoga, coding, listening to music, and generally being creative. I am also a trained masseuse!
