Helper Description:
Born in Czech republic, in small scale yet diverse farming family, with main focus on pure bred breeding,micro-dairy and crops.
Studied agriculture, but because that did not correspond with my values (very industrial style of European agriculture), I left and finished my education as cabinet maker. I started to travel extensively in early twenties, but always gravitated towards agriculture even on my travels.
When I was 25 I learned about Permaculture via Bill Mollison's books in India, it was simply such a sensible holistic approach, something I was lacking in agriculture that time. I started volunteering on many places around the world, in aim of finding a place with that design focus. Being disappointed many times, from not finding really functional permaculture system, till I met Steve Cran in Hong Kong and went through his Permaculture Aid training and later applied it in post disaster Aid program in the Philippines after hurricane Haian. Charged with this experience I wanted to find somebody who do this on large scale, so I done my Permaculture design course and Holistic Management course in Ridgedale Permaculure in Sweden under Richard Perkins, his place is a prototype of diverse beyond organic farm on significant scale. After that I was full of excitement and needed to try all of it, luckily I had the chance to spent ten months on a ranch in southern Mexico. The Owner let me to experiment with high stocking rotational grazing and manage that ranch progress based on framework of regenerative agriculture. The main focus there were agroforestry together with livestock.
Wanting to know more about advanced grazing I was working on a Bison ranch in Oregon and later on very intensive sheep operation in central Oregon, part of that was custom grazing, from cover crops to residue crops from vegetable farms.
My passion is to keep on discovering exploring and learning from the world and its people. So with my anthropological heart I went for sailing trip across Pacific, exploring all the tiny atolls otherwise inaccessible, It was brake from farming, what I could not stand for long. Therefore in 2016 I done Whole Farm Design course (REX) with Darren Doherty- roads, fences, irrigation, livestock rotation, regenerative way of cultivation. It had got me job in Australia, again on larger scale agricultural operation with stress on farm's ecological regeneration, employing cattle, laying hens, meet birds and vegetable production.
Missing European lifestyle I went to work as market gardener In southern France, producing speciality vegetable for high-end restaurants in Monaco.
At present I'm heading direction of vegetable production, therefore I enrolled in JM Fortier's Market gardening masterclass and went through internship at Steadfast vegetable farm Arizona
