Hello dear travelers :)
My name is Thomas from Germany and at the moment I am right here in my home country. I'm considering to do some very spontaneous traveling over the winter months in Europe. I am especially interested in hiking, exploring beautiful landscapes or visit interesting places. I have already been to the beautiful Oceania region, stayed there for 2 years in total. So I would consider myself as very open-minded and willing to meet new people!
So for the next 2 months it would be great to find a like-minded person who also likes to share some travelling together in Europe :)
At March I will move to Northern Ireland to Belfast for 6 months, doing my Master Thesis. Although I will be busy during the week with my studies, I would also be quite happy to meet travelers up there to do trips over the weekend. So if you already know that you also will be there at that time, I will be more than happy to catch up with you :)
Hi, I'm Thomas from Germany and at this stage just about to finish my MSc studies in the field of Medical Physics in the Cancer Centre in Belfast.
Before I started attending University I completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker and also completed my civil service in an integrative kindergarten, taking care of children with and without disabilities. I never minded physically demanding work. Back in Germany I was used to help my grandmother to maintain her huge garden and in Australia Iíve hold different farm jobs, such as fruit picking or tractor driving. During my semester breaks I always worked as a factory hand in my old training company. For my Bachelor Thesis I moved to New Zealand and worked in the Dunedin Hospital in the department of Radiation Therapy. Thereafter, in 2016 I started using helpx to work on a volunteering base for several hosts in New Zealand, Vietnam and Scotland. Most of the work included gardening, animal care, painting, mucking out barns and a diversity of odd jobs.
I donít want to miss a single job that I got through helpx, because I have met all these nice hosts and their families who shared their lives with me and gave me a unique experience. I learned so much and had special insights in their cultures and their way of live, which I would never had experienced as a ďnormalĒ traveller who just visits places but not actually lives with locals for a while. Therefore, I am very grateful for that platform and hope I will collect even more such experiences and work for many more hosts 😊
About my personality:
I love the outdoors, go hiking, cycling and surfing as much as possible. And of course, I like to meet fun people :) Basically I am always happy to be outside and discover the nature and the native wildlife. I also like animals very much and appreciate any kind of caring for them.
As I am busy with my Thesis until September, Iíll probably just be available for small jobs on a weekend basis within Northern Ireland in that time period. But from September onwards I plan to travel within Europe for a while. I will be grateful for any opportunity and happy to help you on any kind of job 😊
