Hi everyone! Available May - October. Minimum age 25. We prefer couples, but will consider singles, especially if DIY/gardening skills are involved! ABOUT US: We're a couple, in our early 60s. Healthy, active and young at heart. We've travelled all our adult lives, done loads of helpx-type placements (mainly in NZ, UK, Thailand and SA), and we've been self-employed for almost all of our working lives (teaching, music festival boutique, and Julie is still a professional horse trainer). We have eased-off now but still seem to be pretty busy. We love being active and involved, (yoga, karate, mtb, horse training, tennis, walking, running, exploring), and we love hosting on Helpx - it's a great way to keep meeting new people, keep learning new stuff, and getting help with other stuff! We offer abundant healthy food, and a really lovely, clean, comfy, sweet home with a good vibe. There's lots to see and do locally. WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO ATTRACT: Over 25 yrs of age. DIY, semi-skil...

in 2017 i bought a house in the french département called haute marne, which is part of the greater region of Grand Est. unfortunately helpx doesn't know this region, that's why i indicate champagne! the house came with a large garden, divided into one third flowers, one third vegetables and the last third a small orchard. i would be very pleased to have a helping hand now and then to be able to take better care of garden, house and barn. i am not looking for slaves, but for skilled people who are interested in sharing their knowledge working together with me for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. i do own 2 dogs, so dog-unfriendly people please refrain from asking. the same goes for people traveling with their cat, altough i love felines, my dogs don't agree with me. Being a long term vegetarian I will not be spending money on meat. And: this is a non-smoking household. i do speak english, french, german and luxembourgish fluently as i grew up in luxembourg. the location is in a very small...

We offer a busy and fun atmosphere, with lots of HORSES -- so it will help if you can ride! We always appreciate a helping hand in our small family-run horse riding holiday business, which we run from a traditional Welsh farm nestled in a secret valley in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. We have approximately 45 Welsh cobs, most of which are bred here on the farm, and we host guests here in our B&B, so there's plenty to keep us busy. We are looking for people to help out with everything that we do, so it's a real mix of outside and inside work, looking after horses and looking after our guests. Our guests are lovely, and come from all over the world, and you'll find it a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. Everyone is pleased to be here, and really positive. Horse work includes mucking out, sweeping the yard, cleaning tack, exercising horses, handling horses - there's always something to do! You'll definitely need to like animals, even if you don't have direct experience with horses. G...

Sorry next spot will be late in september PLEASE READ THE PROFILE AND REVIEWS BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE.. You dont need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife , to stay here. A nice , honest person is good enough This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies ,maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one farmer, 45 angus cattle, one dog,, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near KYOGLE, a quiet country town which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. We are a small permaculture homestead and share-house with a focus on regen agriculture, natural building & communal living. We are in the early stage of our journey, as we build our house and set up the homestead infrastructure. Long-term, our plan is to be semi-self-sufficient, and to grow almost all of the food we need to feed ourselves, and the friends/housemates who will live here with us. (We are a residential homestead, not a commercial farm). Currently it's just two adults and one child living here, but soon it will be a thriving and bustling community homestead that we are excited for you to be a part of creating! From June 2024 onwards there may be up to 13 housemates living here with us including kids, in our purpose-built hempcrete share-house. ****NOTE: There is NO public transport directly to our place but we are 5kms from a train station - you will need to bring a bike or a car**** ABOUT OUR HOME In our home we excel at tasty home-made food, deep conversation, laughter...

Hello! Thank you for reading our profile. Guy, myself and our dog Ava would love to welcome you to our home and community up here in Far North Queensland. A place like no other. On the edge of the rainforest, across the road from pristine waters of Wallaby Creek (croc-free swimming) and some amazing bush walks: there is so much to see and do around here. The Lions Den pub is only a few KM to the north (with live bands playing throughout the tourist season) and is an experience in itself. The southerly route towards the Daintree is currently inaccessible following the recent flooding. In December 2023 our entire area was heavily impacted following our biggest regional flooding event in recorded history, Many homes, possessions and land was lost after water as high as 14 metres swept across our land only a few months ago. Our population is still in shock and in the process of recovery, yet the camaraderie and support for each other is heart warming. On a hill, luckily our home was...

Hi folks, YES, we achieved a lot since returning from a 3+ year break in Feb 2022, beautifying our wonderful property, something we could not have done on our own. We are thankful for having had great assistance from amazing volunteers over the years, enriching our lives culturally and socially while progressing our beautification projects. We are a fit & energetic older couple with the following background: - Rene, 68yo, Swiss origin, Architect / Photographer / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur / Handyman (DIY Building) / Landscaper / Gardener . - Julie, 64yo, Philippine origin, Chef / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur. Our hosting, as well as workflow, is intermediate, as such, we may have breaks in between and preferences & requirements may change. With most of the earlier days' heavy lifting on structural projects done, our current projects are more along fine-tunin...

In the beautiful hills of Tuscany, we live in a stone house, inherited from grandpa, we are very happy with this place as it is, but we love to share and grow together with other people. Througout the winter we have been mostly busy with prepairing lots of different foods and drinks *kombucha, kefir, sourdough, cakes, homemade pastas etc etc. Now that spring is coming we start to prepair the garden again and we would love some help with that. There are lots of other things to do as well, since we are not very strict in time and organisation, we fit well with volunteers who like to feel free and know how to take initiative. If you have ideas to contribute to our project, we would really appriciate that. The number of people living in the house varies; sometimes I can be the two of us or there can be friends of the project and volunteers We are devoloping different projects: permaculture gardening, self sufficiency technology, fermentations and healthy food culture and sharing. In this ...

Come and stay with our family of 5 on our lifestyle block in the leafy suburb of Te Horo, here on the Kapiti Coast. There is work to do around the property helping with things like gardening, reloading firewood, clearing unwanted trees, picking fruit and lots of other things which go into keeping a property of this nature. It is largely manual labour and there is no need for childcare support. Our house is 'active' and there's always plenty going on thanks to our three kids, plus Milo our dog, Sugar our cat, 6 chickens, 2 geese and 2 cows :) We got involved with Helpx because a) we need the help and b) we love to host people from abroad who are like minded and who share their experiences of traveling the world with us and our children. We're thrilled to be able to open our home and our family to travelers, many of whom are from countries we have spent time in. In exchange for 25 hours work a week you receive accommodation in our beautiful home (a large room in a separate guest wing...

In 2006 my husband and me moved from Germany to Croatia with the intention of a simple life in a natural, rural and clean enviroment. A few years ago sadly my husband passed away. In the meantime my mum moved in , so its the two "old ladys " :-) Now i am trying to handle the "farm" on my own. During our life here we have realized how many poor dogs and cats are abonded and we started "picking" them from the street, giving them a shelter and try to find a new home. So one part of help which i need is with taking care of the dogs, which includes providing them with food, water, cleaning the pens and of course peting them. I am looking for people who have a strong work ethic, who see whats to be done, and can clean up after themselves. I also need help with the everyday activities on the farm which vary according to the time of year. Typical tasks include tending the garden, weeding and harvesting. Other seasonal activities include preparation of the garden beds, application of compo...

We have built a special earthen cob building to be used as a small meditation/ seminar center in a tropical rainforest setting. We often require devoted helpers who wish to assist with a plant nursery, veggie gardens, honey bees, and fruit orchids in exchange for free accommodation and food supply. We prefer helpers who have the right attitude toward working and giving back and who want to make a contribution to this planet. We expect a minimum of one week or longer to stay. We are living off-grid, use rainwater, solar power, compost toilets and aim towards self-sufficiency. We are only 15 minutes away from Kuranda village, near the Steiner School, and 50 minutes from Cairns Domestic/International Airport. Own transport is required. At the moment, I am working on a new project near Mission Beach/Bingil Bay, 600 meters away from the ocean with great views. The focus is on renovating a two-story house, the ground floor is separate, where future guests can stay, and self-contained with a...

Gardening, forestry We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto. We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help. This is a no smoking environment.

Hello travellers. Hobart is a lovely regional city surrounded by bush with plenty going on for young and not-so-young travellers. I have a property on a large block in a bushy suburb but it's also central to the city of Hobart. I have travelled in Europe and the US and am interested in meeting others who enjoy the travelling experience. Tasmania has lots to offer travellers interested in exploring, bushwalking, food and culture. I’m happy to show people around and help with language skills. I have recently retired (a young 62!) and am looking forward to travelling to Europe towards the end of the year.. I'm interested in hosting solo travellers or couples who would like to share my home in exchange for some basic garden work, helping tidy a bushy area and establishing some basic garden beds. My house has a sunny, self-contained bedsit underneath with a queen-sized bed, a small kitchenette with hotplates, microwave and fridge and a separate bathroom and toilet. I'm also open to sha...

Devon - We would love some help with the garden, clearing, weeding, strimming and mowing, tidying, tending our vegetable garden, chopping firewood, fencing, general repairs. Helping with chickens. Some house cleaning on wet weather days. Sometimes the work outside can be quite heavy so you must be strong and fit, and willing to work in all weathers! We live in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a retired couple but still run our musical instrument repairs business and we are always in need of some help. We love to play traditional folk music in local pubs and also for morris dancing. We live in an old cottage in a village with a coffee shop and a pub. We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical. We have 2 ‘rescue’ dogs - a friendly terrier and a Romanian street dog who takes a little while to get used to new friends. We anticipate help for approx 5 hours per day, with a 15 min tea break, so overall 2...

This is a somehow unusual project. Minimal conditions offered, so only for hardened bushcrafters or outdoorsy people.🌱🦎 🌳🌳🌳🦌🐌🌱Max 3 hours a day volunteering for accommodation only , or 4 to 5 h for food and accommodation. On a steep slope, just at the edge of the huge forests we re trying to build a tree house, and later on an earthship and some other dependence s. Water systems works also and hopefully access entrances for auto. Working towards a biodiverse, productive, ecological future by applying low tech permaculture techniques. Ideal skills needed: natural building, carpentry, plumbing, bushcraft, permaculture. If you consider yourself a handy person, please get in contact and we ll arrange something. For a motivated skilled carpenter longer term better arrangements are possible. We live on the Baltic Sea cost. 4 hours by car from Berlin. I can host October-March Hello, I would like to host native speakers of English or CELTA holders. I am looking for helpers who can take over my English classes while they are at my place so my students can talk to a native speaker. I do not expect you to teach grammar unless you really want to try your luck. Hours vary from day to day. This year's timetable usually starts with lunch at my place at about 2:00 pm and then you will have to teach 3-4 hours till the evening meal so there will be plenty of time for you to enjoy the city and the area in the mornings. Your English conversation classes will consist of two or three students. There will be no need to change the location. The students come to your place which is on the same floor as my flat so you will be staying at a totally independent studio with a toilet, shower and kitchenette. I will provide the teaching aids. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to...

I’m looking for help FROM middle of July running a small café on the beautiful Sheep`s Head Peninsula in West Cork. BY THE SEA IN A WALKER'S PARADISE. This is an opportunity to meet other international travellers, of all ages, in the café who enjoy nature, walking, cycling or are just interested in relaxing by sea. CAN YOU HELP WITH The cafe opens from the start of April to the end of September and we would love someone who has experience in serving, making food and using a coffee machine. If you have any experience in hospitality it would be an advantage, but not necessary. We will be needing help in the cafe some of the days, There are also jobs to be done like painting, tending to vegetables, feeding the chickens, and general maintenance when the café isn't busy or is closed. LOCATION Although this is a wild and rural area, there's plenty of culture on the peninsulas; pubs, restaurants, fishing, music and an array of festivals happening close by throughout the year. Current availability is from now until the end of June. Then from September onwards. Message me for a chat 🙂 Hello! How are you? My name is Andy and I've been hosting people for years now with Helpx and other organisations. If you are seeking a true cultural exchange, want to really improve your English to a more advanced level and you are a person with high expectations of yourself or want to be around people who also want to help you, then please read on. I appreciate spending my time with people who like me want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who are usually self-transparent, with whom I have common interests, who care about others, and like me want to continually learn more about themselves. I have learned a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues. I am a well-educated person who believes life is a continual learning experience.

Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around.

We're a truganic, biodynamic, permaculture farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, two hours Northwest of NYC. 24 acres with approx. 4 acres of wetlands. Approximately 5 acres under cultivation. We follow all the organic standards, and above (since organic standards are constantly being downgraded by the USDA), but are not certified organic. We DO NOT use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, "cides" of any kind, or chemical fertilizers. We also follow biodynamic & permaculture principles. Season is April through October. We appreciate 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week. You can choose 8 am to 1 pm, or 7 am to noon. Sundays off.

We’re needing help planting native trees!! Come and experience genuine farm life with us! Your tasks may include, but not limited to; pricking out/releasing native trees, gardening, window cleaning, preparing hivewear (assembling & painting), and hosing out the cowshed yard. If you have experience with young children, even better, we'd greatly appreciate your help in the mornings with our young daughters. You'll also have the opportunity to learn how to milk cows if you're interested. Our home is situated on a 500-cow dairy farm, just a 5-minute drive from Te Awamutu, 40 minutes from Waitomo Caves, and 50 minutes from Hobbiton. As avid travelers ourselves, Michael and I love meeting fellow adventurers and opening our home to them. You'll get to meet our daughters, Olivia (born January 2019) and Abby (born August 2021), whom we'd love to expose to different languages and cultures! During your stay, you can immerse yourself in New Zealand's rural life. Meet Bella, our pet goat, an...

The qua...

I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good movie and ...
