We are a small community and registered charity of Buddhist practitioners living in a Meditation Centre in the rural landscape in Ireland. We have many different volunteers helping us at our Meditation Centre, not all of whom are Buddhists, as we are open for anyone from any background wanting to come and learn more about our way of life. We have three ordained people at our Centre, which includes a Tibetan Buddhist Lama (monk) originally from Tibet, the Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche, who is the Spiritual Director of the Centre. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the patron of our Centre. We have many lay practitioners and people of other faiths who come and help us here. We are a small hill sheep farm in the Green Mountains of central Vermont, USA. We raise high quality Icelandic Sheep for milk, meat, and wool, and we sell breeding stock. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes.There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales.
