We are a small community and registered charity of Buddhist practitioners living in a Meditation Centre in the rural landscape in Ireland. We have many different volunteers helping us at our Meditation Centre, not all of whom are Buddhists, as we are open for anyone from any background wanting to come and learn more about our way of life. We have three ordained people at our Centre, which includes a Tibetan Buddhist Lama (monk) originally from Tibet, the Venerable Panchen Ötrul Rinpoche, who is the Spiritual Director of the Centre. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the patron of our Centre. We have many lay practitioners and people of other faiths who come and help us here. The work we do at the Centre not only helps run the Centre, but it also helps us raise funds for Venerable Rinpoche's different overseas charities in Mongolia and India. We have daily meditation practices which are open to everyone to attend. We have a library with many different books from different traditions in B...

Welcome! Your choice: You can exchange two hours help/day for the room only and provide your own food, or we can provide meals for you, and you help us for four hours/day. Our home is surrounded by nature and some of Nelson's best mountain biking and walking tracks. We are two friendly people, some chickens and a cat. Our home is in easy walking distance of Nelson city centre, but it is quiet and private. It's like being in the country. There's a good mix of things to do: Looking after garden and trees, house and each other, making music, preserving fruit, generally enjoying life. We can talk to you in English, French or German. We like to share meals with helpers. We love to feed you (and love being cooked for by you, too!). If you want to teach us a song from your country, that would make us happy. The Most Important thing we hope for in a Helper is that they want to enjoy their stay with us, are open to make contact and to learn. We - meaning us two, Ian and Eva - have had m...

This lodge is run by myself and my daughter in law. We would welcome some help with the lodge. You would either be staying in a guest room (very comfortable depending on availability, or in a caravan right next to the house. My son Harry and his partner Sarah (early 30’s) and their two kids Micah (3yr) and Sage (15mo) live at the lodge currently so you will be helping/staying with them. I visit most days. Harry is from NZ and Sarah is from Canada, they are very adventurous and love showing helpx a good time in the outdoors. They lived on a sailboat for many years and sailed here from Canada. The work will be mostly out door work garden maintenance and a little general cleaning but more than likely helping Harry and Sarah on the building site of their new house right next door. Our preference is for single independent persons or couples, but open to most combinations. Every Helpx so far has been nothing short of lovely. It is a lot of fun..... We are situated on the edge of the...

We are a small hill sheep farm in the Green Mountains of central Vermont, USA. We raise high quality Icelandic Sheep for milk, meat, and wool, and we sell breeding stock. We concentrate on producing hearty, disease and parasite resistant sheep, and on keeping them in a healthy and humane environment. Our flock is intentionally small so that we can know each of our “girls” personally. :) We rise early each morning to feed and water the sheep, horses, chickens and ducks, and to milk the ewes in summer. We have the middle of the day free to enjoy Vermont, and then we have chores again in the evening. We offer a room in our home (or a pullout couch if the room is taken) and all meals in exchange for about 4 hours of work a day. We are only a few miles from Vermont’s Long Trail, and from Bolton Valley ski area. We are also a short drive (15min) from Lake Champlain and Burlington, VT. We are also members of other sites. If you are interested in coming to help, I have some more information...

Hi everyone! Available May - October. Minimum age 25. We prefer couples, but will consider singles, especially if DIY/gardening skills are involved! ABOUT US: We're a couple, in our early 60s. Healthy, active and young at heart. We've travelled all our adult lives, done loads of helpx-type placements (mainly in NZ, UK, Thailand and SA), and we've been self-employed for almost all of our working lives (teaching, music festival boutique, and Julie is still a professional horse trainer). We have eased-off now but still seem to be pretty busy. We love being active and involved, (yoga, karate, mtb, horse training, tennis, walking, running, exploring), and we love hosting on Helpx - it's a great way to keep meeting new people, keep learning new stuff, and getting help with other stuff! We offer abundant healthy food, and a really lovely, clean, comfy, sweet home with a good vibe. There's lots to see and do locally. WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO ATTRACT: Over 25 yrs of age. DIY, semi-skil...

Are you looking to experience something a little bit different to the usual helpx stay/help experiences ? Firstly, and quite apart from normal Helpx help..., I am seeking someone to stay in my humble home and look after my young kelpie dog from mid July till early August while I am away for a couple of weeks. This person must be quite mature and responsible. I am also offering a very special place to stay and park your camper van(or similar) on my little slice of nature. Positioned beside a winter creek line and in a very unique position as it is tucked on the edge of a Karri forest...., populated by emu, kangaroo and lots of birds ? I have set-up several campsites amongst Peppermint and Karri trees for travellers to move into right away, and it is just a 5 minute drive along Caves Rd to Hamelin Bay, It is also right at the entrance to a tall forest National park with it's many dedicated walking and mountain bike trails. Margaret River is a 20 minute drive North, up the coast ...,...

I just retired from a career of Process Instrument Work at the local power plant. I could use some help with the Vineyard and Gardens, but also enjoy fishing and boating on the river in the evenings and of course days off. We would be willing to supply your own bedroom, great meals and WiFi. We also have two Female Collies that love to get brushed and played with. The ideal person would have to be able to work on there own or in a small group, after some training of course to get you up to your comfort level, so as you basically understand what the goals might be for the time of year and tasks at hand, a five hour day,if the weather permits, is what we usually work . There might be a few longer days, but I`m sure that having time off to check out the area won`t be any problem. If you would care t...

This is a very healthy warm dry desert climate, where viruses do not thrive. At our farm here in the Coachella Valley we grow 6 varieties of dates; Medjool, Barhi, Khadrawi, Khalas, Halawi & Zahidi....and we also have young plantings of Jamaican plums. Date harvest will be from July 1st then into October, so we need help with picking then. Tasks include irrigation, pruning, picking, fertilizing, pollination, clean-up, compost, trenching, house cleaning, road repair. We clean our soaking pools regularly and the farm could use the help of an electrician, and also someone with adequate videography and editing skills. We also like to connect with folks who know how to operate a sewing machine, so we can repair our date bags. The hot springs is located in a very remote setting in the Coachella Valley of the southern California desert about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Los Angeles, or 50 miles southeast of Palm Springs, just off highway 111, in the morning shadow of the Chocolate Mountains, ...

We have many different volunteers helping us at our Meditation Centre, not all of whom are Buddhists, as we are open for anyone from any background wanting to come and learn more about our way of life. Sorry no vacancies from middle 15th may until september PLEASE READ THE PROFILE AND REVIEWS BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE.. You dont need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife , to stay here. A nice , honest person is good enough This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies ,maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one farmer, 45 angus cattle, one dog,, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near KYOGLE, a quiet country town which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay.

We started our Vineyard back in 2004,it is located in a Beautiful,Quiet,Valley along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. We have five children that have now grown and moved out on there own.

Helping with caring for wildlife in particular orphan joeys. Help with vegetable gardening and fruit trees and some housework would be appreciated. Birdwatching and wildlife photography. Photography tuition. Prefer minimum stay 2 weeks, ideally 2-4 weeks, because it will take a few days to learn about wildlife initially before helper/s are able to confidently undertake tasks without supervision.

Your hosts are a mature couple, Michel and Lorna. Michel is an architect and Lorna will be running meditation, mindfulness and life coaching courses on the property. We both love to travel and have spent a lot of time in France and the UK. Michel is also a pilot. Lorna plays the piano and the cello. We have a little maltese shitzu dog who is a character and playful. The property is on 10 acres in Ferguson Valley, a beautiful valley with boutique vineyards, 2 breweries and home of the famous Gnomesville in the South West of Western Australia. It has a network of mountain biking trails through the forests and the world's largest painted mural on a dam in the national park which backs our property. Our little local community has monthly barbeques in our fire shed and there are various activities throughout the year such as an art and music trail and the Bull and Barrel Festival. We designed and owner built our house. Both being creative, we have many projects we like to underta...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. And we always take our HelpX guests for a sail in our sailboat, Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our...

Our next available week is from 11th -18th May. Let us know if those dates suit you and you're keen to experience a week living with us in our beautiful home! :-) After that we are looking for two helpers from 15-22nd June. We accept people who appreciate 4hrs of daily work alongside us is a very fair exchange for wholesome meals and snacks (you`ll be well fed), your own private space, free Wi-fi and access to beautiful, private, natural surroundings with lots of native wildlife like wallabies and pademelons. We have an international group arriving on 19th May so are asking for help setting up for them. It's all fairly easy work with lots of hands :-) In your free time, volunteers can go swimming, enjoy many of the hikes on and around our property (plus we adjoin 8,000ha of National Park) and meet/spend time with our animals, read , meditate, do yoga/fitness, satellite wifi or watch movies and chill out. We have a lot of info on our page, mainly so we get the right people ap...
