We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes.There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Our farm has a 2000sqm glasshouse that has a variety of strawberries, chillis and peppers that are grown using organic sprays and utilising predators under the IPM programme. We have not been on the farm very long and are learning as we go and we would love to share our experiences with others and learn off them as well. Shimanto river is running through Kochi Pref, and famous for being the most beautiful river in Japan.
