I'm happy returning to my home for a wintery Xmas in the Welsh countryside after a great adventure in rural India, where most of my time was well spent volunteering at a school in the countryside on the outskirts of a small town called Fatehgarh Panjtoor in the Punjabi region of India – here the people have delicious, fresh milk, yoghurt and ghee coming straight from the cows, goats and buffalo, which are stabled inside their homes. They are friendly and hospitable folk, but the early morning religious wailing from the profligate temples is enough to drive you mad! I was joined by a companion from Croatia, Tomas, who then left to meditate in Rishikesh. Tomas, as it turned out, was a natural teacher and the boys and girls took a shine to his lessons! As is often true, it was a richer time having Tomas as a companion and developing a friendship and sharing our experiences and impressions of India together.
