Hello, I’m from Portland, Oregon, in the United States. I have been traveling and volunteering for the past couple of years, spending time in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England, France, Italy, Iceland, Spain, Morocco, the Balkans, and Southeast Asia. I have also traveled extensively across the United States, Japan, Canada, and Central America, with a mix of independent travel and HelpX-style volunteer placements. I enjoy connecting with other travelers and volunteers to share experiences, cooking, ideas, and languages. I’m particularly interested in communal, hands-on environments where people are working, learning, and living together. My interests include cooking, photography, hiking, reading, playing pool, architecture, and generally immersing myself in different cultural environments. I also have a background in practical trades and maintenance work, which often overlaps with the kinds of environments I find myself in while traveling. I hold a degree in liberal arts with a focus in philosophy and sociology.

Hello dear travelers :) My name is Thomas from Germany and at the moment I am right here in my home country. I'm considering to do some very spontaneous traveling over the winter months in Europe. I am especially interested in hiking, exploring beautiful landscapes or visit interesting places. I have already been to the beautiful Oceania region, stayed there for 2 years in total. So I would consider myself as very open-minded and willing to meet new people! So for the next 2 months it would be great to find a like-minded person who also likes to share some travelling together in Europe :) At March I will move to Northern Ireland to Belfast for 6 months, doing my Master Thesis. Although I will be busy during the week with my studies, I would also be quite happy to meet travelers up there to do trips over the weekend. I am currently based in Edinburgh and will be available for volunteering from 8 August to December 2026.
