That said, I’m starting this trip on my own and am fully comfortable working independently and my main focus is learning from the host family and the daily farm routine. While I"m happy to travel on my own I also enjoy company and would welcome meeting some compatible travelers.. A little about me...I like to experience the place I"m in. Sights are good but people are just as interesting to me. I'm flexible. I like to have a plan but believe in veering from the plan in order to enrich the experience if the opportunity arises. I like to be up early...though it's not easy for me to actually get up early. I'm not a partier and tend to stay away from loud or crowded scenes...though sometimes I'll push myself if it seems worth it. I’m very interested in meeting other helpers, finding travel companions, and volunteering alongside others. One of my main goals while travelling is to connect with people, share experiences, and enjoy the social side of HelpX. That said, I’m also comfortable travelling and working independently and happy in my own company when needed. I’m easy-going, open-minded, and always up for meeting new people and seeing where the journey leads.

I have always thought it would be nice to find a like minded individual that would be interested in traveling, working, and potentially even settling down somewhere where the community and environment feels right. Whether we share strengths, or have strengths where the other has weaknesses, I tend to get along with a lots of different people. Mutual respect and considerate behavior is extremely important to me. Furthermore, I am a big believer of direct polite honesty when possible. I have no prejudices against anyone of any gender, religion, ethnicity, etc. As far as I'm concerned we're all just people trying to make our way in this increasingly crazy world. I don't know if we would get along, but I would definitely be open to a dialogue and seeing if we could become friends and see if something would work out.

Hei fellow Help Xers out there, I am Lene and I ve been travelling, touring and Help Xing around Australia in 2024 and New Zealand in 2025. From February til August 2025 I ve been working in various jobs in New Zealands North Island, including Vineyards, gardening and babysitting, staying at the same place and sharing a house with 15 lovely people - a really fun experience! Since the end of 2025 I am back home in the north of Germany, working in a Hotel. But I am still keen to experience different kinds of living/working/familylive and to share experiences and moments with travel and/or HelpX buddys along the way.
