I’m open to meeting and connecting with everyone – locals, travelers, families, and children. I enjoy sharing stories, learning from different cultures, and creating meaningful moments together. As a solo traveler, house & pet sitter etc. I find it always very pleasant to meet up with people during my travels at "HelpX" or other similar addresses. Sometimes travelling together with people I meet. As I travel by car I also use, for many years already, BlaBlaCar. I am always open to suggestions and/or questions. Every now and then I am for instance also joined by family members at my house & pet sit addresses.

I'd like to find one or more traveling companions to plan/do trips. I'd also like to meet people for along the way. I do speak French (reasonably well); and of course, fluent English. I enjoy walking, biking, visiting new places and taking photos. I grew up in the country (upstate New York) and spent a lot of summers in Colorado. I'm very comfortable in country places. I also live in NYC so I'm used to communicating with people from all over the world. When you live here, you meet people from other cultures on a daily basis. I enjoy reading books and watching foreign and international films. I find I get along really well with young people -- maybe because I am a single parent and always had young people in my home to help with my son. In my professional life I work with young professionals as well.

Travelling around NZ in my camper van and always happy to meet easygoing people for hikes or a drink to swap travel tips and stories.

I hadn’t originally thought much about finding a travel buddy through HelpX, but after being away from home for a while, I’ve started to see the appeal of having someone to occasionally share parts of the journey with. Right now I’m in Panama until around mid-September, and after that I’m pretty open. I’d like to continue exploring Central America or make my way into South America, but beyond that I’m trying to stay flexible and let opportunities shape the route a bit rather than planning every detail too far ahead. At some point I’d also love to spend time in Mexico, Europe, and parts of Asia, especially if I can do it slowly and intentionally rather than racing from place to place. Whether any of that actually unfolds the way I imagine it is another question entirely. I once rented a room from a woman who used to say, “If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas,” which honestly feels like a pretty accurate description of long-term travel planning. So really, I’m just open to conversations. If our travel styles, timing, or general outlook seem compatible, I’d be happy to chat and see whether our paths might line up for a while.
