Mostly full through December - may have some dates available, just message to ask! Welcome to your lovely large house and garden in the Loire Valley at the edge of the typically French village of Langeais (including Renaissance château, near the autoroutes, with SNCF train station offering regular service to Tours/Saumur/Angers and easy connection to Paris). As with all older homes, it needs some love and care :) The house is owned by Patrick, from London, who sometimes hosts paying guests, and is managed by his friend Brodie, from New York. You will have your own en suite bedroom (single in the pictures, double if you are a couple) with shared meals and drinks in exchange for an average of 4 hours of work per day of your stay. Depending on your desires, skills, and the weather, the work may alternate between landscape gardening (weeding, trimming, tackling brambles, mowing) or house maintenance (indoor/outdoor painting, deep-cleaning, organisation). We'll agree on the length of your...

Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (1yr). We are looking for 2 people to help. We require 1 person to help on the farm and 1 person to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me. Alex, Mel, Kenzie & Emmie

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER (can be earlier) FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. Our family runs a western riding facility with 30 stalls, where we provide horse boarding and training, including reining and cow work. We also have a western saloon, where we host weddings, special events, and are open for our club members on weekends. In return for cleaning out stalls and feeding horses (and the odd other job), we offer room and board, sorry we cannot host vegetarians; we include you in family activities and you have the possibility to improve your riding skills in western riding (cow work and reining) in our 30 x 60 m arena and - how about -learning some line dancing!! A bicycle is available, if you want to explore the near surroundings. We are located close to Switzerland, it`s about a 15 minutes car ride to Basle, and also only about 20 minutes to Germany. Our area is a great tourist region. If you are mature, fit and self-motivated, willing to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks, experienced with handling horses, we would be happy to hear from you!

We live in a nature sanctuary on Corfu island in Greece. we are a COMMUNITY of PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMAN BEINGS, who try to live together IN THE SPIRIT OF NATURE. we are organized similar to a zen monastery. yet we are not affiliated to any religious body, but to the holy body of our mother earth. the earth takes care of us. the earth gives to us what we need. she gives us and she for-gives us – she never asks for money… we admire the communities in nature (ecosystems), where all members balance their needs and gifts in a healthy way, without money, without machines and without chemicals. here in NATURE’S SANCTUARY we try to live in harmony with nature. we try to support and protect all our nature brothers and sisters, who share this sanctuary with us… it is a CHALLENGE TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE. it is a challenge to protect and support all nature beings in a way, that they have the chance to live in their own natural born communities. we are looking for people, who want to take...

We are open to almost anyone who would like to share our situation. We moved north from Vancouver to escape the noise and the craziness and to find a spot to live in beauty. We found one and now are on the edge of nothing but more nothing all 400 km to the Pacific. We are 20 km outside of a small town halfway between nowhere and not much. Sharing that is a pleasure. Nearly everything we do now is in support of one thrill: adventures in food. But rural living out here in mid-nowhere means that there are endless other things to be tasked as well: construction, gardening, maintenance of many sorts, enhancing the natural beauty around us. Chances are that if you could describe a pure-fun, physical job, there would be something here I could offer that might satisfy those urges. If you want to work hard, eat marvelous meals and have a fabulous time in the gardens, the workshop and the kitchen, come join us and get a relaxing feel of rural life. PLUS, for all you thrill seekers/amateurs de...

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Currently the main focus is on landscaping, forging a pathway up the hill via carving out soil on one side and adding to the other side, creating little embankment walls in the process. Most of these embankments will be made from recycled Oamaru natural stone, a few with recycled glass bottles. Our white Oamaru sandstone has attracted various sculptors to our town, because it is soft enough to be cut and carved...

Jobs include farm work, gardening, housekeeping, servicing and cleaning my AirBnB and learning about our farming systems. I look forward to welcoming you to the farm!

HOLA!! I am always open to exceptional souls, and would consider someone special from early November through the season, preferably for a minimum of 2 weeks or more, open to what fills & flows gently. 😀 Artistes, gardeners, and Magic souls, thank you for your kind consideration! This works best for single, simple souls who are flowing through and need a place to land for more than a week. I have a garden, motorcycles and my Happy doggie, Lula. :) so there are always little bits that need tending, painting or polishing! I am usually building something too! Lula loves long walks, swims, giggles & cuddles! She shall be your constant companion I imagine, and is a daily priority and delight. I would also like to polish my old Harley and Triumph on occasion, tend my garden or paint a mural as well! I enjoy my serene sanctuary in front of the beach in Cancun, Mexico :) , a lovely base just minutes from the town centre, ferry, an archaeological site and so much more, offering disc...

This is a mother and child organisation that provides children and their mothers life changing opportunities. We provide a chance for education to children from poor communities and less privileged families. We try to build and give Hope to these children and families by teaching them through example by having the children attend our partners school which is a home for them since many of them are orphans from different places of Uganda. Our aim is to make sure that every child and young mother can still have the same educational opportunities as anyone would. We also train young teenage mother's who have become mothers at the age of 12 to 19 and we give them skills like tailoring craft making and business management that may help them to achieve their dreams The organization also provides a safe space for women to share and learn from each. Our volunteers will help teach at our new project school academy, where we are providing education to children in communities that struggle with...

Hello. I’m Paul, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for calm-natured volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I appreciate a baggage of life experience that is not too small, so volunteers in their mid to late twenties at lea...

The first bus leaves from Apollon at 7 in the morning and tha last at 18.00. The first from Naxos Town leaves at 9.00 and the last at 3.30. That's in the high season (July and August). This is a small project in a heritage farm house in beautiful Lower Saxony. We are at the moment three people, two cats and some chickens. We speak German, English, French and Spanish. Our house is in the middle of the village, and we enjoy the contact to the people around us. We've got an idyllic yard and sometimes do parties or small cultural events - this year, we are taking a break though to concentrate on some bigger building projects. Otherwise, we cook together, or just hang out. Most of us are working/studying, so you might spend some time alone around the house - or you can go swimming in our local swimming pool, biking or hiking around the village or visit the World Heritage sites in nearby Hildesheim! Help needed around the year would mainly be renovation/restoration, e.g. plastering, painting, maybe some carpentry (as in improving the chicken coop or, if you feel like it, restoring old furniture), but we are also happy if you help with the house work, the garden, or cookin...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Welcome to our peaceful goat farm and homestead in the beautiful Central Coast of California! We're a semi-retired couple with 20+ years of experience living off the land. Our 6-acre farm is home to dairy goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, bees, and gardens. We do everything from milking goats and making cheese to processing lamb and poultry, fermenting vegetables, baking sourdough, preserving food, and even teaching quilting and rug weaving. We host ONE helper at a time to provide a personal and immersive experience. You’ll stay in a cozy, private trailer next to the house and share the guest bathroom. We cook and eat three healthy, mostly organic meals together every day using food we raise or organically source. Our lifestyle is omnivorous, and we do not host vegans, vegetarians, or dairy-free guests—you’d miss out on too much! We ask for help with daily chores like milking, feeding, cleaning pens, gardening, and kitchen work. Afternoons are usually free, and in your downtime y...

Hola..I am Chris, a 70's baby, 80's child, 90's raver (30 years a DJ)....Farmer and father of 3 kids, the youngest of which, Savi - now a teenager - lives with me part-time on our large (2 hectares) organic farm in Las Alpujarras, Southern Spain. Our family life here began 20 years ago, with us living in self-made geodesic domes up in the mountains, totally off-grid and off-road. We continue to farm there, though much of our attention is now with our off-grid farm in a community valley, where we have extensive fruit and vegetable gardens (including many olive trees), a greenhouse, 3 dogs and a cat! We use traditional and modern methods of organic farming, growing produce all year round for ourselves and a local cooperative. Alongside this we continue to create a venue for Earth conscious events and accommodation for nature loving people, which we are building using natural and up-cycled materials. We have various hand-crafted spaces able to accommodate 15-20 people, including 2 tradi...

Our home is an 1874 Historical property which is surrounded by established gardens. The Area: We are surrounded by vineyards with stunning mountain views in the beautiful Awatere valley of Marlborough. In our area we have some hikes and walking tracks close by. We provide comfortable separate accommodation from the main house and healthy meals in exchange for 4 hours work daily. At the moment we are in the throws of completing a building project. . We have nearly completed building a glasshouse out of large windows, this now just has the roof to go. This is needing pavers put down and painting to be completed. Anyone with these skills would be great. Gardens hedges and some housework and meal preparation will be part of every day work at Oak Tree. Our Location: We are in the Awatere Valley, 1km from State Highway One. 25km drive south of Blenheim and 5 minutes drive from the small township of Seddon. There is a small supermarket, takeaways and pub in Seddon and self serve p...

One thing I can advise helpers who want to get a placement with any host is to have at least one PICTURE of YOURSELF. Just as you like to "see" who and where you are coming, hosts like to see who they are opening their home to. The weather is warming up now so there is lots to do outside in the yard. I'm not planting a vegetable garden this year so I'd like to clean up the area, fencing, painting etc. Knowledge of Carpentry and Plumbing are always appreciated. Car mechanics are always helpful. I would really appreciate someone who can do handyman jobs and wants to come for a week or two. I sell things online and on eBay and would love someone who is good at writing descriptions in English. I have a large house and property in a diverse area of Staten Island, New York that I`m always working on. I plant a vegetable garden in the spring using the square foot gardening method. A friend and I rebuilt the whole house on the inside including jacking it up and replacing the foundation,...

January 2025: After 10 years of running a B&B we are closing down our company and stop this activity. My wife is picking up her old job and will be working abroad most of the time. I am now mostly living here alone with my dog :-) (I think it is important to mention this) So as I speak, 2025, we have a room available in exchange for what interest me most at the moment: Cooking, gardening, bringing in wood, depending on the season of course. Home improvement help maybe, depending if I have a project going or not. In winter more relaxed around the fireplace :-) As far as the cooking is concerned I would like you to have the same mindset: - You must care about healthy (mostly organic) food, at least nothing with MSG (glutamate) in it and no other food additives either, as far as possible. - During food shopping I must say reading the labels takes quite some time, but it is important! Supermarkets are 80% full of ultra-processed food. - And it goes without saying, you must be abl...

We have a vineyard, olive trees and vacation houses near Tropea in Calabria. We need a couple to help us for some week from september to june for vintage, olive harvest, gardening, general maintenance and internet announcements. In autumn, winter and spring we have a lot to do in the vineyard, with the olive trees, the house and garden. Accommodation in a full equipped chalet offered. It is better to COME WITH CAR or rent it here. We expect you to work 2 and half hours a day (16-20) hours a week. You should buy and cook your food. If we have time, we can show you around our region and our white sandy beaches. We would be glad to welcome people from all over the world to our home. We prefer couples. We want you to feel like family. We love our volunteers and host local potlucks and other community events. We have Yoga, and other health oriented classes periodically. The area itself has lots of events that support your well being! We are long term residents therefore offer stability to our helpers. We love to create outings with our team as well. Of course you can have that alone time as well. We are the furthest point on the east side of the big island where the sun rises. It is a very sacred place for the Hawaiian culture. We also have a different weather system here, so we get sun where one mile down the road it is raining. Lots of beauty on the land and the sky at night is spectacular. Tropical fruit of all kinds, over 45 different varieties! If you want to learn about solar, rainwater catchment and the basics of living off grid we are a great place to start. There are no power-lines for 7 miles so your nervous system gets a break. If you have any special skill sets ,l...

Dear friends, this is a painful update for me, as my beloved olive grove suffered a terrible fire this summer. I really need help to fix it and save what can be saved! My name is Lidia and I live in Sabina, in the countryside near Rome. I'm looking for someone who loves the rhythms of nature and can help me prune the olive trees, fix the fence, and do other maintenance work. I'm reorganizing my ceramics studio and need help creating the shelves. In August, I could host someone to take over caring for my two cats and a dog and watering my beloved garden. Do you think this would interest you? In November, you could help me harvest the olives. I have a wonderful, centuries-old olive grove, and this could be an interesting experience for you. You'll certainly get your share of the oil for this work. The next step will be pruning the olive trees... If you know how to use a chainsaw, do small carpentry or plumbing jobs, and want to experience this, you're welcome! Travelers in campers an...

I live with my 2 children (11 and 6 years old) in a big house. I need help with maintenance's house: cooking, cleaning, gardening. If you feel comfortable, also with children (to have a walk to the river, skating or playing around). We would like to learn and practicing english. We offer the meals just days that you work with us (3 out 4 days a week, 4 hours each day). We have for you an individual room. Bathroom, Kitchen and living-room are to search with us. In this area you can find several interesting activities about permaculture projects, dance, music, healing... Its easier if you have your own car, because public transport it isn't enough. Specially in winter. Next little-village with bar it's 10 minutes on foot, and next supermarket it's 15 minutes driving. There are many great nature places to visit.

This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic.

The distance from the port (Naxos Town) is 36km but the bus sometimes takes the long way through the mountains (52km). There are 3-5 buses daily from Naxos Town to Apollon and vise versa. The first bus leaves from Apollon at 7 in the morning and tha last at 18.00. The first from Naxos Town leaves at 9.00 and the last at 3.30. That's in the high season (July and August). In Apollon village there are no night clubs. The clubest place is the hotel bar and even this is chill out bar not a dancing bar. Apollon is a summer village.

The project is in its early stages and we are looking for energetic and responsible individuals wanting to experience and contribute to rural life and communal living close to nature. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us out with daily tasks such as helping in the kitchen, kee...
