Due to a cancellation we have space for 1-3 people from 12th January and again from 27th January. However, please note our final comment at the bottom of this description. Our home is a large old weatherboard house in beautiful Sherbrooke, in the Mount Dandenong Ranges. This dear old place may one-day soon again become guest-house, like it was 100 years ago. Meantime both house and garden need plenty of tender loving care. The hills are a popular destination, with native forests for walking, public gardens, villages, cafes, good coffee, and galleries. See: http://www.villagesofmtdandenong.com.au/ for a look at the attractions. Sherbrooke itself is made up of a state forest and a mountain village. It is recognised internationally as the home of the Lyrebird, and many native birds visit us daily. Sherbrooke is one hour drive east of Melbourne city, or 1 hour on the train from Melbourne to nearby Belgrave. As a busy professional household, in recent years we have been grateful for...

We have availability for one or two strong people at the moment. Nothing too difficult. Just digging out plants really. And the usual bits and pieces of house maintenance. I’m flexible about ‘ length of stay’. If you haven’t got a car/ van…..I can take you up the mountain to do the Pouakai Track( then collect you when you’ve finished ! ) I can also pick you up from the bus stop / airport etc. Before you read our profile... please be aware that if there are two people applying, BOTH people must be members of HelpX. (couples or friends who are joint members are fine). You also must have HEALTH INSURANCE. I’d like to see evidence of that when you arrive (our recent HelpX got sick and ended up in hospital here. Very expensive! But she did have health insurance!). We love our HelpXers and will definitely treat you like family while you are with us. The HelpX bedroom is a ‘sleepout’. It’s a room in my workshop, which is 10 metres from our house. The bedroom i...

Come experience the stunning views of Te Mata overlooking Whangarei Harbour and Bream Bay. We are looking for helpX volunteers for one or more weeks in exchange for accommodation in a spacious room in the main house, 3 delicious meals a day, and, of course, a great time. Alcohol is available at cost. If we click, long-term stays (until late May 2026) are preferred, just like several of our previous helpers who stayed with us for more than five months! The vacancy is available now. Our 12-hectare lifestyle block is located 20 minutes/km south of Whangarei (15 minutes by car to Bream Bay sandy beaches). It's an oasis of 50% native bush, rest paddocks and subtropical orchards: 60% bananas and a canopy of schizolobium, cherimoyas, papayas, mango, feijoa, and temperate fruits. Not to forget the SACRED GROVE where we worship our devoted 🕉️Religion here: Rave till sunrise PLUR Congregations🥳. If you're arriving by public transport, we can arrange a pickup in Whangarei. However, having you...

Hello, I live in the beautiful Charente region 16140, and am looking for help with all sorts of jobs, from feeding the donkeys and other animals to painting and helping in the garden 😊 I am slowly bringing this lovely old château back to life after being empty and abandoned for many years. I enjoy growing my own organic vegetables and looking after my animals. I recently planted an orchard and have lots of other projects I'd love your help with. In the past I've shared some wonderful times with helpers, many of whom remain friends and have visited several times. In return I offer a comfortable bedroom in the chateau with 3 meals a day, and cooked as much as possible with our fresh produce. I would like your help for 5 hours a day with weekends off. There is lots to explore like little villages and towns and the river. The coast is about an hour's drive away. The Charente river is at the bottom of the garden and there are some lovely walks right outside the door, there are also b...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Currently need some help with mostly gardeni/ outside work and if weather bad some help in house, eg painting. We live in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a retired couple but still run our musical instrument repairs business and we are always in need of some help. We love to play traditional folk music in local pubs. We live in a cottage in a village with a coffee shop and a pub, and close to the water. We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical. We have 2 ‘rescue’ dogs - a friendly terrier and a Romanian street dog who takes a little while to get used to new friends. We anticipate help for approx 4-5 hours per day, depending on the task, so overall 20 - 25 hours per week, which can be spread out according to the job being done at the time. We are pretty flexible! We don't need any help with cooking - I prefer to do that myself! We are 3 miles from the sea, lovely beaches and some good surfing and w...

For an experience in a farm with horses and dogs, if you love nature and are not afraid of hard work! Here you’ll find silence and peace, and also many splendid places to visit. [UPDATE: We don’t have availability for a position in horse care only. But we have availability for a strong person, hard worker, to help outside with the bush clearing, using the brushcutter, driving the tractor to grind the fields, apart from helping a bit with the animals and the handling of horses. Note that we are very busy during the week, and we can't go and check our emails every day. You might have to wait a bit for an answer. Sorry for this.] We live in a sparsely populated area called Berry located in the center of France between Orléans (60km) and Bourges (50km). The closest city is Gien, 27km away. Just west is the county called Sologne, where nature is all around, though we are at only 2 hours from Paris. East is the Sancerre valley. We are looking for handy volunteers or good riders. Check...

We (Adrian & Jo) have a small family owned vineyard and wine company. We are in the Waihopai Valley, 23km from Blenheim. Our adult daughter (34 years), is currently at home with us, working in the vineyard. So, we only have one bedroom available. We live in a 150 year old school house and have one very friendly dog. At present we require help with general vineyard work like knocking off the low growth on vines and wire lifting. We enjoy meeting young people from other countries and showing them our part of the world. This is a popular tourist destination, which includes the Marlborough Sounds, many good walking tracks and a good place to cycle. We have a range of bicycles available and go to town by car regularly, but it is good to have your own vehicle. Having a campervan is also desirable. Just at the moment it is difficult for us, because Jo has a broken ankle and is not able to work in the vineyard.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Hi Everyone, we are a small farm with a seasonal restaurant and beautiful gardens only 40 minutes from Hobart, and operate for only 3 days a week. A good plan for us is to help us about 24 hours over 4 or 5 days and use your spare days to explore our region, which is truly amazing, I will help with transport when possible. Your Help can be in the restaurant, maybe some light chores in the garden or around the main house, things we can work out! I like to cook seafood and meat dishes, and whatever produce can sourced from the garden. Thanks for reading. I wish you well for your travels and HelpX experiences.. Cheers, Mike

Hey, hello you ! We are Caro and Chris, Zion and Kiara. We were travelling around the world since a gorgeous time until all this virus craziness happened. Caro, then Chris & Caro were backpacking, doing hitchhiking, etc... The beautiful wildlife. Then kids arrived in 2017 and 2019 so we mainly stayed travelling in Europe by van until they will be able to carry a little backpack ;) When the virus arrived, we were crossing Sweden. Everything became complicated with borders, shops and people so we decided to enjoy the strange time to build our home. We bought an over 300 years old stone house on a big peace of land which were abandoned and this new adventure started. Bretagne is a nice place full of culture, traditions, nice villages, forest and legends and history, and surrounded by the sea. After being helpers ourselves, we now want to be hosts too. We loved it so we expect people love it here too. Our kids are homeschooling with mainly their mother and we would be happy to have Eng...

Set in a hidden valley of Woonona, this 1 acre oasis is on a journey from forgotten, overgrown grassland to Permaculture wonderland! We have been practicing aspects of sustainability for over 15 years including Permaculture gardening, sustainable building and creating community. Sarah has a deep level of knowledge about market gardening, soil building and organic food & is a qualified Permaculture teacher. Ben is skilled at building with recycled, reclaimed and natural materials, tending fruit trees and teaching ecology & sustainability. The property is located about 5 minutes bike ride from lovely beaches and 5 minutes walk from local shops and access to buses into Wollongong. It`s also only 1.5hrs from Sydney by train. We spent 2010 WWOOFing around the planet with our two children, so we understand how to be good hosts. We love sharing lifestyle and experiences, so hopefully we can help you explore this wonderful part of the world. The current projects involve a range of gardeni...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english.

This beautiful little organic orchard is on the Richmond Hills, a 5 min drive to Richmond and 15mins to Nelson. We are growing citrus, avocados, nuts and a variety of other fruit trees, catering for our small community as well as a large vege garden. We also have some sheep and chickens. The jobs will depend on the time of the year but include pruning, weeding, mulching, harvesting, etc. If you have any building skills could be very handy as there are always a few projects going. The accommodation is a cute tiny home in the orchard with a separate shower and (composting) toilet unit. It has a sleeping mezzanine with a queen bed. Also the downstairs couch is a single sofa bed. There is a small kitchen with fridge and cooking facilities. It is suitable for a single person or a couple. There is a carpark. No wifi included. We are looking for one/two people to help with general work and maintenance around the house. Mostly outdoor in the garden or general tidying up etc. Nothing too hard Also if you felt like cooking a meal that would be great. I would love to have someone help me sort out my photos and perhaps make a few photo books on the computer. You will see from the reviews that we have really enjoyed the Helpx visits You have your own separate accommodation. (Stone cottage on right of photo). And hours to suit. All very flexible. I do all meals Monday to and including Friday. On weekends you are free. And look after yourselves. You have your own separate accommodation with microwave so you can do as you please. We live in a nice suburb and close to the city and also good transport either bus or ferry. Also, we are close to the beach. It really is very lovely and the other helpx people have enjoyed their time Please call or message me. Kind regards Annie
