Hello there and many thanks for your interest. We run a tourist hostel and pub in a beautiful Victorian house located on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland. (The island is linked to the mainland by a bridge). If applying to stay with us, please note the following: --Tell us your approximate arrival date and how long you would like to stay (stays of 3 weeks or more are preferred). --Give us brief details of any work experience or skills you might have. --Please have a photograph of yourself on your profile. --You must be reasonably proficient in English. There is a lot of interaction with our guests, in person and sometimes on the phone. We live in a beautiful location and if you like water sports, surfing, hill walking etc, you will love it here. We are 10 mins walk to the sea and great beaches. It`s very quiet here in the low season but busy from June to September. We enjoy many good music sessions around the fire in our pub and everyone is welcome to join in. ...

We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. We average 2/3 hours a day painting, plumbing gardening and other repairs and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe it’s more convenient to do two longer days during the week. When you email please let us know when you plan to get to Perth and how you are travelling (flying in, driving or bus etc.). If you are already in Perth, where you are staying and how long you would like stay. We can send you more details when you enquire, including advi...

We are a busy family with a small lifestyle block just 10 minutes outside Tauranga. We have a menagerie of farm animals and pets plus vegetable gardens and a small fruit salad orchard. We raise our own (friendly) lambs and pigs and do some home processing into hams, bacon etc. We have a clean and very comfortable 60m2 accommodation separate from the main house with 2 bedrooms (one double and two single beds), a bathroom/shower, a large living area, a nice little kitchen, and wifi. You will have this accommodation building to yourself. Generally looking to take 2 people at a time. We prefer a stay of at least a week. There is always plenty to do with a wide variety of tasks both outside and inside. This includes: - gardening, pruning, weeding, fruit and vegetable harvesting, lawn mowing and other section maintenance (to suit your level of experience). - some inside housework - generally cleaning - Painting plus other house maintenance and landscape work (if you have suitable pain...

Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term. I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. In time, want to transition the farms to more of a communal space. There are three acres of wild blueberries that I am currently converingt to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. I have a small herd of alpacas and an even smaller flock of chickens, whom I allow to free range. We harvest a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is to increase that slowly and steadily every year. For a long-term (and possibly lifetime) stay, I would particularly interested in these 3 individuals: 1. Someone to manage the livestock, including monthly shots for the alpacas 2. Someone to process and market the alpaca fibre 3. Someone to manage the lit...

At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! Watch our YouTube video below, about our community and us, made by the very talented helpxer, Louie Ablett. Three of us live here now, myself 74, David 84 and Sue 64, who started as a WWOOFer and has moved here with the help of a voluntary activity agreement through Centrelink for over 55s'. Sue came in September 2019 , lost th...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

A beach front section. Kayaking, body boarding, swimming and fishing available for guests. Accommodation and meals provided in exchange for four hours work a day. Gardening, housework, general household maintenance and painting could be requested. My preference is for people to stay a week. Taupo Bay is quite a small community and no public transport is available so it is often easier to have your own transport. Certainly not essential as arrangements can be made for collection and support to get to your next destination. I can collect people from the end of the Taupo Bay road or Mangonui. Many thanks for looking. Fran

We.previously lived in Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast where we hosted many helpers through helpx with amazing reviews over a period of 17years.. Most never wanted to leave. We have now moved and bought an equally stunning property in Far North Queensland in a small country town (Cardwell) on 3 acres 10 minutes from beach. We are located between Cairns and Townsville and just south of Mission Beach. Terry and I are not as young as we used to be and are struggling with maintaining the property. We need help for 4hours a day, with weeding, mulching, pruning and watering the gardens and general house cleaning. We back onto tropical rainforest and creek. Help around the inside of property would also be helpful. You will have your own bedroom and own bathroom (1 queen for couples and 2 queens for singles). The fridge will be stocked for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch and we all sit together for evening meals which I will prepare. There are many stunning waterfalls and walk...

This is for those of you who plan ahead. We are full until mid July, right at the start of our best fishing season and in the middle of our best weather when at least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn o...

Learn syntropic agroforestry and help develop an off-grid food forest near Waipu Caves Kia ora and welcome. We are Judy and Alistair, and we are developing an off-grid rural property near Waipu Caves in Northland into a productive and resilient food-forest environment. The property covers almost 14 hectares of native bush and pasture and sits within the remarkable limestone landscape of Te Ana Waipu. The surrounding area includes glow-worm caves, native bush, river swimming holes within walking distance, and the beaches of Bream Bay a short drive away. The heart of the project is Judy’s work with syntropic agroforestry and permaculture. Judy is an environmental educator with a strong interest in regenerative growing systems, soil health, composting, biodiversity, and practical ways of working with nature rather than against it. She is also involved in community-based zero-waste initiatives in Whangarei. Syntropic agroforestry is a regenerative approach to growing food that takes i...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

I live on a rural property close to town and there is always plenty of work to be done and I could use a hand. At the moment there is lots of cleaning around the house and some gardening. I have 1-2 rooms available. Other things to do include bird watching, crocodile watching. At last count we had 14 fresh water crocodiles. Bush walks. I do tend to do my own thing in the evenings so someone who is somewhat self sufficient would probably be the best fit The property is 20 minutes by car to Darwin so it is a good landing spot to explore Darwin further. For the right people I can offer a day excursion out to a cattle station to fish or ride around in a buggy and see some more of the territory or some other 4wd adventure. This would depend largely on my availability and what I am doing that weekend. Your own transport is better. There is a bus stop about 900m away but the service around Darwin is ok but not great I sometimes have paid work available as well.

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent and mature helpers who love working outside and don't mind getting thei...

We farm a small fold cattle. Also have cat, chickens. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Timaru is a great base to explore around the south island from. SPECTACULAR views of the Southerm Alps and Mt Cook from this Location, in a tranquil setting off the beaten track 10 min west of Timaru, conveniently positioned midway between the cities of Christchurch and Dunedin. We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

Travelers should choose my place because it offers a calm, friendly, and comfortable home in the Dublin Suburbs 10 minute train ride to City Centre. You’ll be surrounded by plants, nature, and good company 🌿. The tasks are light and relaxed. You’ll also learn practical gardening tips and horticultural knowledge in a cozy, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal place for volunteers who enjoy peaceful living, meaningful conversations, and a warm home atmosphere. I am a well organized and responsible person. I’m an easy-going, friendly host who enjoys gardening and evening chats 😊. I value respect, honesty, and a relaxed environment. Volunteers can expect to be treated kindly and fairly, with plenty of support and patience. House also has a permanent tenant, Gloria from Italy (early 30's) who has been here over a year. The help is quite easy and low-stress. I’m happy to share my horticultural knowledge, including tips and tricks for getting the best performance from different plants 🌱. T...

We are a young couple who have made the leap from the UK to NZ and then from the city to the country. We have travelled a lot before settling in NZ and love to meet new people. We have a beautiful home in the countryside but also close to the beach. Perfect if you like animals and being in the outdoors and love the sea. We love to paddleboard in the Ngunguru estuary and walk our dog along the many trails and beaches nearby. We are about 20mins out from town so having a car would be a bonus unless you are happy to relax at home while we are at work. The stunning Tutukaka coastline is also 30 mins drive and is a must see for any traveller. Another must see destination in NZ, the Bay of Islands is an hour away. We were new to lifestyle blockering and are still learning as we go. We have a 4 yr old called Alfie and a 2 yr old called Charlotte as well as the dog (Pip), Chickens, Ducks, sheep lambs and cows. This means there is enough of a range of jobs to suit most peoples preference. F...

Hey there! We are Petra and Eddie and our farm is a truly unique sanctuary from the hustle & bustle, a 1935 irrigated homestead located in a tiny village in the Southern Arizona Desert. We are at 3800ft and about 10 degrees cooler than Tucson. We have HUGE mesquite trees, providing valuable shade and 8 acres are irrigated pasture for our horses. Our kitchen garden is sadly in need of TLC. We are working on cultivating the one acre field behind the house to eventually supply our flower, veggie and fruit farm stand. If you are looking for a farm that works with permaculture and regenerative farming principles… this is it! We have 20 plus spoiled chickens, 3 pet geese, 3 dogs, 3 cats and 6 horses. The Silver Mining Town Tombstone - where the famous OK Corral Shootout happened - is 20 minutes away - former home of famous Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. It’s fun to stroll down the boardwalk to reminisce the on-location-filmed ‘Tombstone’ movie starting Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer. A 40 m...
