Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. Your Role & Contribution While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I need help with tasks that offset my paralysis, including: - Household Tasks – Light cleaning, keeping the kitchen tidy, and helping with laundry. - Personal Assistance – Bringing me food, water, and other necessities I can’t manage on my own. - Driving & Companionship – Taking...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Hello there, I'm looking for travellers, nature lovers, people interested in permaculture and a different way of living. I'm Erik, class '88, I live in northern Italy where I've been building a permaculture project for the last few years. I've always been a dreamer, a wanderer seeking adventure and a deeper connection with Nature. After few years of working and travelling the world I decided to start this other journey here 1,5 hours drive from my birth place. As a sensitive person, Healing is a good portion of what drove this life choice into being, as I find it more gentle and sustainable for ourselves and the environment. On a more practical note, the land for now is taken care of for self sufficiency and not as a businness. I can offer food and accomodation in exchange of 3/4 hours of work, 5 days a week.. Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the tim...

We live on a small hill farm in the beautiful county Wicklow known as the garden of Ireland. We are a family of four. Becky and Kilian and our daughters Zoe (11) and Bea (8). Fiona (18) is also staying with us this year as an au-pair. We are quite remote so it is very serene and peaceful and the view is amazing. We speak English and German as well as French. We farm organically and have 15 free range organic pigs as well as 2 horses and 5 cats. We also have a poly tunnel and farm garden where we grow vegetables for our own use. Becky works from home and Kilian when he is not farming, has an additional part time job which calls him away on projects from time to time. We live 1km outside a little village called Redcross. It has a pub that brews its own beers and there is also a restaurant, snack bar and shop. We are 20 minutes to drive from a town called Arklow which is on the sea and there is normally a chance to get a lift in but it’s only a 1 hour cycle. Wicklow is a cool part of t...

You will like it here! We need help in our garden in the next months, e.g. watering, weeding, cutting branches and so on. We are a little unconventional community of 4 persons (66,65,71,74), 1 friendly dog and 2 playful cats and we live in a cosy house surrounded by a garden. Our children are on their own, but they sometimes visit us. We raise our own organic vegetables in several raised beds and normal garden beds. There is always something to do in the garden and around the house or walking the dog, cleaning windows and so on... We live in a small rural village in the beautiful hills of the "Odenwald". Our village is located roughly between Heidelberg and Frankfurt, also Mannheim and Darmstadt can be visited easily. There is a good public transportation to all these cities. The Odenwald is a famous hiking region and ideal for mountain biking, a bike is available. There is a climbing rock not far from our house. We speak English quite fluently and some French. There are several med...

Looking for single or couple to stay in Quinns Rocks from 26 June to 15 July. I’ll be away during this period, although my housemate will be home. The house is a few hundred metres from the beach, around 30 minutes north of Perth, with a bus stop right outside and easy access to public transport. In exchange for accommodation, I’m looking for around 2 hours of help per day. The main job is looking after my Chihuahua, Chip. He weighs only 2kg and is very easy to care for. He needs feeding, being let out for the toilet, and keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t escape. He’s very affectionate and enjoys sleeping on the bed if you’re comfortable with that. Other jobs available include: ● General spring cleaning ● Cleaning and polishing a boat ● Rust-proofing a boat trailer ● Organising parts of the shed and garage ● Other jobs around the house The house is a large modern home and you will mostly have it to yourself. The dates are fairly fixed as they coincide with my travel...

Located in Mani, in the very south of mainland Greece, about 300m above sea level in the foothills of the Taygetos mountain range, overlooking the Messinian Gulf you'll find my 3ha of half olive grove, interspersed with native trees and the other half a naturally grown woodland. I have converted to organic status and returned the land to traditional farming methods, next is growing fruit and vegetables and perhaps keeping some livestock.. The work in hand is varied and includes the maintenance of trees and harvest of olives, clearing land, rebuilding dry stone walls and housing. I aim to combine traditional materials, from sustainable resources, and recycled materials wherever possible and would welcome your help at any time of year, especially though at harvest time Nov.-Feb. In general I prefer longer stays, at least 2 weeks, longer after a trial period. Update: The PV park is up and running for some years now. The house is as good as finished, using mainly locally sourced and re-us...

We are a nonprofit horse rehabilitation center that offers education on equine care. We need hands on to help with projects we are working on to complete as well as facility maintenance. Would love to have some energetic people that want to make a difference in horses lives here. It’s about helping these animals go from neglect to finding a forever home or live their lives in Sanctuary. You don't have to have experience we can teach you. If working hands on with horses is not your thing and you admire them there's lots of things you can still do to help them prepare for homes or help at the facility. What we are not: We are not a riding stables. We give lessons when able after all chores completed and trainer is here on certain days and during certain times of the year. So if your intention is to spend lots of time "in the saddle" we don't do that here. We aren't a "working ranch" for people to ride horses all day and move cattle, ride trails, etc. We are not a fancy stables ie: ...

Dear Friendly People, My name is Böbe and I'm a Dutch and English speaking Hungarian teacher. I moved from Hungary to Spain with my 2 dogs and 5 cats on the 23rd May, 2025. Forever. One of my cats passed away on the 21st April, 2026. He was 14 years old. I left my home country because without helpers I couldn't manage that big farm of 1.5 Ha. In place of that ranch I bought 2 small apartments for renting, while we're living about 20km from those properties. I'm living in a very peaceful area of San Miguel de Salinas, in Geir's house in "Los Comunicationes". Almost nothing to do if you want to find entertaining. The main part of San Miguel de Salinas is about 2.5 km. I find a way to do activities: I walk at least 5km a day with my dogs in the forest nearby. And sometimes walk to a castle- restaurant about 2.5 km far from home. We can offer: an independent apartment on the ground floor. If the weather is good, swimming in the pool - nowadays the water is 28 degrees! I can tea...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

We are in Dégagnac, between Cahors (capital town of the Lot) and Sarlat in the Dordogne and have 5 gîtes (small houses for rent) and we do chambre d`hôtes (B&B) and table d`hôtes (dinner); we have a swimming pool and a tennis court, a vegetable garden, garden with fruit trees, a walnut grove, meadows and forest, all of which have to be maintained. Depending on the season, we are looking for helpers with one or more of the following skills: 1. gardening (pruning, digging, tidying up etc.) as well as wood clearing and logging; 2. affinity with cooking and making domain products (e.g. confitures, chutneys) from the fruit and walnuts we have; 3. preparing the gîtes for new guests; 4. Do-It-Yourself (painting, decorating, carpentry, etc.). In return for 6 hours of work (5 days a week with 2 days off) we offer an independent gîte to stay in (only not possible when all gîtes are rented out, but then we have a separate room for you with bathroom), use of all the facilities of the domain, l...

I’m Darrall, a long-time design educator who now maintains a coastal home and garden solo. To keep things comfortable, helpers stay in a private, self-contained cottage 20 metres from the main house, see photos (own kitchen/dining, bathroom with shower, lounge area, two beds (king-single or double), wood-burning stove, unlimited Wi-Fi, air-con heating/cooling, basic linen, access to laundry). Non-smoking, no drugs, no pets, no children. Quiet hours 10pm–7am. Couples or pairs only... your own car is recommended but not essential. Location & perks: • 1-min walk to the Port Stephens inland sea (kayaks available; dolphins visit), 1-min walk to ~1000 acres of bushland (wallabies, birds) • 5 min drive to the M1, 20 min drive to two spectacular beaches + supermarket/shops/restaurants (Tea Gardens / Hawks Nest) Without your own car you are relying on lifts from the host. • 30 min drive to Newcastle Airport, 1 hr to Hunter Valley wineries, 2.5 hrs to Sydney • Easy parking on site, outdoor spa (...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

Looking for an all round handyman/gardener who can help me complete the renovations on my property. All major 'building works' are complete, but walls still need painting, cupboards and shelves installing etc....it's currently a blank canvas. There's a very large garden, now overgrown with weeds, and I've totally run out of inspiration. There's so much potential, so someone with an eye for design, landscaping, garden maintenance, and basic carpentry skills to build a decking area would be highly desirable. In exchange I'm offering accommodation with shower room, food and Wi-Fi, and use of a bicycle. The small town (village style), is peaceful and quiet but with a fantastic thermal baths facility, gym and olympic size indoor pool. For nature lovers, there's a buffalo reservation with a lookout on the lake for wildlife and bird watching, hiking/walking and bicycle trails.

I am in desperate need of helpers to tame my garden, planting the winter growing season veggies plus harvesting and pruning fruit tree. Due to family health issues I have been away in Canada for a total of 16 weeks over two visits during the last 9 months needless to say I have become a bit behind. This is the best time of the year to be in the garden. We are a working cattle farm/station located on the edge of the Australian Outback within an easy 2.5hour drive from Townsville and the Great Barrier Reef. We are located about 40minutes from the major cattle hub and historical town of Charters Towers I love to cook and grow our own food. One of my hobbies is preserving food and baking which has resulted in me starting a Small business called Darlene’s Country Kitchen. I sell my products and produce in our local town, Charters Towers. We also attend a regular Market on the 4 Sunday of every month. Helpers will be expected to feed and water chickens, ducks and geese, collect eg...

Hi! My name is Iacopo and I run a small organic winery in the beautiful hills of Umbria, central Italy. We produce natural wines and welcome helpers who are interested in learning about vineyards, winemaking and rural Italian life. Depending on the season, tasks may include vineyard work (pruning, tying vines, canopy management, harvest), winery activities, preparing wine tastings, gardening and general help around the property. Helpers stay in a private apartment and receive accommodation and food in exchange for their help. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy nature, wine, agriculture and a relaxed countryside lifestyle. We usually host 1–2 helpers at a time and we appreciate positive, respectful and proactive people. No previous experience is required, but an interest in wine, farming or Italian culture is welcome.

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

You'll love being in contact with vibrant nature, immersed in the jungle. You'll learn how to plant fruit trees, harvest, clear the land, and select fertile soil. We are creating a horse sanctuary on rural land far from the city. The work will be hard and intense, but rewarding and loving, as we aim to give back to the horses who live here a small part of what this species has given to humanity through work, effort, and unconditional love. We always try to work as a team to advance further. The tasks are simple and achievable by anyone with interest and focus. The most important part of our work relates to emotional healing through horse-assisted therapy, wonderful beings whom you'll have the opportunity to observe from a different perspective. In this place, these beautiful animals are not ridden; all the work we do with them is done on foot. If you're interested in delving deeper into their world and learning more about this wild species in its natural habitat, we recommend staying...

Simon and Sylvie live in a big house in the suburbs of Toulouse, with a small garden. UPDATE: We still have room for one more helper ... In the month of July we will be doing some fairly technical painting work (ceilings, doors etc) and some insulation work involving wood, nails and hammers. We will also be fixing up old bicycles. We`re looking for two friends or a couple to stay with us for 10 days or so in July. In exchange for 4 hours a day doing these tasks we shall put you up and feed you with good French cuisine. We can put helpers up in the attic apartment - an independent flat designed, constructed and decorated by helpers past. There is a lot to see in Toulouse and we`re only a few minutes from the nearest metro station into town ... and the brand-new téléphérique to nowhere. Helpers often find that a week in a big French city is welcome relief after weeks out in the sticks with no night-life, cafés or young people around. Toulouse has all this ... and more! Franco-...

We are a small, newly established hobby farm with a big vision to create a world where the health and well-being of both people and the planet can flourish. Our motto is from little things big things grow! We are guided by the principles of permaculture – People Care, Earth Care and Fair Share. We acknowledge the Gunaikurnai people as traditional custodians of the land we live and work on. Our aim as temporary caretakers is to create a lifestyle that is slower, simpler, happier, more self-sufficient, and kinder to the planet, as a demonstration to others of what might be possible. This place is the home base for a counselling and eco-therapy mental health service, which works with nature to improve people’s health and well-being, and to promote healing and growth. We also have lots of big ideas and projects in the makings, as well as ongoing jobs. These include: - establishing an orchard - establishing permaculture gardens - building a new chicken house and run - growing 'Herbs f...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens,...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes.

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends.

Help grow a permaculture centre & outdoor homeschool in southern Italy We are investing our time, energy and lives into creating a Permaculture Centre and an outdoor nature-based homeschool in southern Italy. We live off‑grid, rooted in the three permaculture ethics: Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share. What we offer: · Vegetarian/vegan meals (vitto) · Private accommodation in a bungalow · A small, authentic community experience in nature What we are looking for — two kinds of kindred spirits: 1. Families with young children (1–3 years old) who travel with a camper, caravan or tent – and who wish to share daily life, help with small tasks, and participate in a growing vegetarian ecovillage project on land full of energy, beauty and potential. 2. Vegetarian/vegan individuals or couples interested in an immersive experience at our small permaculture centre. You’ll help us with the many daily tasks of country life (gardening, building, cooking, childcare, maintenance, etc.). In excha...
