Looking for assistance NOW and from late March through summer 26. We moved north from Vancouver to escape the noise and the craziness and to find a spot to live in beauty. We found one and now are on the edge of nothing but more nothing all 400 km to the Pacific. We are 20 km outside of a small town halfway between nowhere and not much. Sharing that is a pleasure. Nearly everything we do now is in support of one thrill: adventures in food. But rural living out here in mid-nowhere means that there are endless other things to be tasked as well: construction, gardening, maintenance of many sorts, enhancing the natural beauty around us. Chances are that if you could describe a pure-fun, physical job, there would be something here I could offer that might satisfy those urges. If you want to work hard, eat marvelous meals and have a fabulous time in the gardens, the workshop and the kitchen, come join us and get a relaxing feel of rural life. PLUS, for all you thrill seekers/amateurs des s...

Hello, The Walipini is ready and great, thanks to the two helpers. They have left again and I hope to find some people who can help with the heavy things which need to be done(I am 69 and lift the blade so high is to heavy for me , for drilling the holes for the standing poles I simply haven't enough force). If someone can give me a hand that would be lovely.Like cutting the hedges, replacing some fences, building two terrace with beautiful Buxus wood and some wood cutting from fallen trees. You are welcome to come to help I like to share my beautiful place where you can have big walks or visit the markets in the villages around me (I like to cook good healthy meals, also vegetarian if wanted). There is place (also near the river) for camping or camping-cars. Thanks Aletta Dear all, I'm looking for people who are willing and able to help build a Walipini greenhouse at my new home on a south-facing slope. I'm also looking for reliable people to look after my house and pets from Janua...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. We are happy when someone shows enthusiasm for the garden because this is a central part...

We purchased this beautiful château in the Loire Valley in 2013 and with HelpXers like yourself, we worked tirelessly to renovate it, taking it from its dilapidated state to the current splendour of a modern 21st century castle. There is still a large space to renovate, as well as finishing touches all around the château, so we get excited if you have trade skills to offer. We have availability for you throughout the year from May through to October, and are keen to book interested people, like yourself, in for longer periods anytime over that period. We ask a minimum stay of two weeks with us, but longer periods are a big bonus. We love positive enthusiastic people who enjoy all that life offers and can share that energy with those around them. If you like working in the garden or have general handyman skills...we would love to hear from you. We would also love a stonemason to join us, as we always have a few stone walls to repair. And if you have experience working behind th...

Situated on the edge of the Great Divide, we are surrounded by great views, Kangaroos, Wombats, Echidna and numerous bird species including wedge tail eagles, Rosella's and Kookaburras. Just an hour from Melbourne [less from the airport] we can arrange pick up. Our farm has Highland Cattle, Chooks and a large Vegie garden/orchard. While we have no urgent work requirements and the farm is only our hobby [we are semi retired ] there is always something to do, however we have no paid employment available and cannot add points for visa extension. We have a spare room with double bed or we can accommodate 2 x singles as well. The nearest public transport is 15 minute drive and we can drop people of most days as we go past the station nearly every day. Our current projects are house painting, wood cutting and gardening.

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Our family runs a western riding facility with 30 stalls, where we provide horse boarding and training, including reining and cow work. We also have a western saloon, where we host weddings, special events, and are open for our club members on weekends. In return for cleaning out stalls and feeding horses (and the odd other job), we offer room and board, sorry we cannot host vegetarians; we include you in family activities and you have the possibility to improve your riding skills in western riding (cow work and reining) in our 30 x 60 m arena and - how about -learning some line dancing!! A bicycle is available, if you want to explore the near surroundings. We are located close to Switzerland, it`s about a 15 minutes car ride to Basle, and also only about 20 minutes to Germany. Our area is a great tourist region. If you are mature, fit and self-motivated, willing to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks, experienced with handling horses, we would be happy to hear from you!

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between now and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in retu...

My 80-acres has so many possibilities, i live in a tiny home, you would be sleeping in tents that we will supply sleeping bags and a double bed. I am a single parent with 2 grown adults and a young lady in university. I run a small party decorating business and have a small general home and hardware store. The wedding business is very interesting and demanding, hence why I'm looking for help at home. Due to other duties that needs to be done in the shop For now, we are looking for someone to help keep garden clean and tidy, cut shrubs and hedges and some general domestics around the house The kind of person i am looking for must be very neat and clean as well as very reliable and respectful. Someone who is not lazy and is very good at keeping their environment tidy and happy to do some cooking, cleaning, ironing and gardening. Personal hygiene is of utmost importance in our home and must be adhered to. If you want to experience venue décors for occasions (then you are free to come to venues with me, but not mandatory) i am very flexible with time as some days can be quiet, during this time, you can tour the local areas of i...

*Next space available from late July. Minimum one month stay. Thanks! * We're a Kiwi family of four (an economist/researcher, a social worker/therapist and two primary/intermediate school aged children). We spent 2020 in France and we're looking for someone who can help the girls maintain their language skills and share knowledge of French culture. Failing that, I have spent a few years in Japan and would love to pass on knowledge of the language and culture to the kids as well, so a Japanese person would also be good. We're looking for someone who can meet the kids at school four days a week and keep an eye on them till we finish work (roughly 3pm-6pm) during term, or some longer days during the holidays. They're nice kids and reasonably well-behaved (most of the time). Offering accommodation and evening meals, especially if you're keen to share the cooking some nights. Can put you in touch with our past Helpers if you’d like to know more about us, the local area etc. Our plac...

We are beekeepers in a small village near Bayonne, in the south west of France. We live in an old typical farm of the area with animals (one dog, two cats, chickens and millions of bees). We have near to 150 hundred hives which produce different honeys (heather, chestnut, acacia,...). For that we`re moving it in different areas. We are also making some pastry with our honey and we are selling the production on the local shops. We are also gardening, cooking and doing some DIY works at farm. We would please to welcome to you.

It’s a very beautiful and quiet peaceful area, in between Saint Clar and Lectoure I am in need of help in the garden, and painting windows and shutters. I am English but I speak French and also coach young people in the uk with their GCSE French exams, so could help you if you’d like to learn French or English. I am a yoga teacher and there is often space in my classes if you’d like to join. There is a swimming lake 5 mins from my house. In the nearby villages there are lots of activities to join in, art, dance, music, and cultural events. My spare bedroom is large at 25 sqm, with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, sofa, 2 armchairs, desk. Window into the garden. The bathroom, kitchen, sitting room are shared For meals, I eat very healthy, but we can discuss your own preferences! I have a very old deaf dog and a v...

My name is Esperanza, I run a language school. I'm looking for an easy going native English speaker to help us with conversation classes and different activities. It is a great educational project where we aim to develop students interest in the language in a natural way. We live in a nice area surrounded by mountains, our house is big , so we recently started an online rental program to meet new people from all over the world. The language school is 8 minutes away on foot from our house. I live with my son, Mikel, who is a university student. While you stay with us, you will be able to take part in lots of activities. Zalla is a town with lots of facilities where you can do nearly everything you can imagine. If you are interested in learning Spanish, we will be more than happy to help you! We live 20 minutes from Bilbao in a lovely town called Zalla. There is a good bus/train service to Bilbao. Volunteers also can visit, Santander, San Sebastian, Burgos, Pamplona either of these ci...

I would be very happy to welcome volunteer teachers who are willing to help at my school for two or three months, or even for a full semester. *I want the volunteers who work at my school to not feel like they are working. Instead, I want them to feel that they are enjoying themselves and having a holiday while staying with us. Their room is fully equipped with air conditioning, hot showers, and a spacious private room that is separate from the main house, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.* My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities ...

Open for helpers from mid February until mid December. Not outside this period. Small farm without any farming since the land is rented out, but the forest is maintained by me. Also have a vegetable garden and berry bushes and lots of machines like tractors, ATV, snowmobile etc. I have 2 sons that are visiting regularly. Tasks can be gardening, carpentry, painting houses, general house work or forest work. Also might need mechanical help with machines. Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

{Currently have a helper with us} We have a 1.4 hectare (4-acre) lifestyle block (mini-farm) close to the Hamilton city boundary. Our location is great for day trips to Raglan, Hamilton Gardens, and Hobbiton. For helpers without their own car, there is a bus stop about 15-minutes walk from our house, we might be available to help with a ride to the bus stop, and we drive into town a couple days as week as well. We have horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, a rabbit and a pet bird. We are establishing gardens, growing food, following permaculture and organic practices. There is always a wide variety of tasks to suit any helper/s, and the task timeframes are very flexible for weather and sightseeing. Outdoors there is usually some weeding to be done, other garden tasks, maintenance and improvements. Dream projects include building a small greenhouse out of recycled ranchsliders and building some small bridges over the drains. In winter, waterproof footwear is recommended. In summer mont...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

Minimum stay is two weeks. Help needed in April planting trees and preparing soil for planting and sowing seeds. Would like to learn more German so help with that would be good. Looking out for 3-D artists to make an addition to our sculpture trail in the woods! People with interest in natural history or the arts are welcome and we like interesting food from different cultures. We are now growing more vegetables and have some Hebridean sheep and a few chickens. Springtime is preparation for the summer and tree planting.

I plan to start a permaculture garden, sawing the dead trees , build a clay oven, a cookhouse, sweatlodge, permaculture gardening, composting toilets . Picking berries, foraging mushrooms and growing some too! Building a round platform for yurts/teepee to rent out. Possible hipcamp. Hopefully getting a goat with babies. If you enjoy the outdoors have some experience with camping, building or gardening this could be for you, lots to learn someone will be teaching us to make the clay oven. Located 3 miles down an earth track road, we live off-grid with no running water or electricity.

I’m a yoga teacher and I live in a lovely old stone house with my dog and my cat, in the countryside in the Gers in South West France. I teach yoga in my home studio.

In July we need help picking fruit (raspberries and cherries) so half your time will be spent picking fruit or foraging and the other half will vary. Please state in your application that you are fine with this. We have a farm that has been converted mostly into trees ages 20 - 35 years ago that need maintenance. This involves pruning the trees and planting new ones and weeding round the trees. We also try to develop the flora in the woods by planting wild flowers an...

*** We are looking for 1 volunteer to help us growing vegetables, restoring a fence to keep a herd of donkeys and with maintenance tasks. Dates: from June to September (maximum 2 months, minimum 15 days) *** It’s a beautiful place next to a lake and surrounded by nature. We are a Spanish family with one 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy who look after la Aldea de Puy de Cinca, a tiny rural mountain settlement in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains in Aragón, Spain. The vista from here is breathtakingly spectacular, ringed by soaring mountains and rocky outcrops with a clear blue lake lapping at our doorstep. Nearby are many small abandoned villages, and the Aldea is perfect for hiking, canyoning, rock climbing, swimming (we have several boats and bicycles if you'd like to use them) and outdoor sports. Our main project for volunteers is helping to expand and maintain our gardens and a herd of donkeys. We have space for helpers in our hostel, which we run in summer. Some y...
