Hi, I’m Jo and I’ve created a small urban food forest in Coromandel town, based on permaculture principles. I’m looking for someone to stay for a few days (usually 3–5 at a time) to help in the garden and around the house. Tasks might include general food forest maintenance, light gardening, window cleaning and general housework. The exact length of stay will depend on how things are going and whether it feels like a good fit for both of us. I live in a small house and you’ll have your own bedroom with a king single bed. We share the bathroom and toilet. The house is right in Coromandel town, walking distance to shops and just a few minutes’ drive to the beach. In exchange for around 4 hours of help per day, I offer good food, a relaxed environment and friendly company. I share my home with a small dog, a cat, four chickens, two budgies and a turquoise parrot, so animal lovers are very welcome. Looking forward to meeting you, Jo

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Yarrangobilly Caves and nearby thermal pools are about one hour away. Our beautiful site features a serene river, where you can go...

Hi we are a family who live in Bargara (near Bundaberg) within walking/cycling distance to the beach and we have bikes you can borrow if you would like. We have a 13 year old son and 1 guinea pig. We would love to host people so that you can see this beautiful part of the world and so that as a family we can meet new people from different parts of the world. We would ideally like to host for 1-2 weeks at a time. We can take you to see some of our local area but you must also be able to be independent and do things yourself as we have a busy life and we are in and out a lot of the time. We would love help around the house with some household cleaning jobs, the boring jobs like sorting cupboards, cleaning windows, mopping floor etc and small gardening jobs like weeding or mowing the lawn. If you can cook a traditional meal that’s vegan that would be awesome (but not essential). Our 13 year old loves to play games so if you like playing games that’s a huge bonus 😁

Your accommodation would be a private room with double bed and bathroom, (not ensuite). In the main house. There are Four adults live at our place, with young adult offspring visiting when possible. We have 9 acres of countryside, mostly grass meadow, and we keep bees. We have a walnut tree plantation, where we have two holiday cabins for paying guest to enjoy our place and the wildlife. We grow organically for our own consumption and also have a fruit orchard that is just maturing. We are really into wildlife and nature conservation, and work hard to improve the environment here. Matthew is very knowledgeable on this subject. We have sarah's elderly parents living here, so we would appreciate a helper who was sensitive to this and could also give support with their care and amusement. There is lots of garden and help maintaining both the vegetable and ornamental gardens would be fantastic. Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

Hi there If you'd like to experience central leafy Auckland in a safe area, then our home is the right place to stay. We live in Westmere, which is an inner-city suburb surrounded by cafes, amenities, and parks. It is very safe and a lot of professionals live here. 5-10 mins walk to the supermarket, bus, cafes. Half-hour walk to the beach, 45 mins walk to downtown city (or quicker by bus). It is a very popular and green area. We're offering a furnished room in a 3-bed house which includes bills (water, gas, electricity, unlimited broadband) but not food. We have our own bathroom, so the main bathroom is yours most of the time. In return we're looking for someone to give 13 hours home help (or we can be flexible: eg 7 hours and you also pay $100 board). At least 3 of those hours is just playing with my daughter or putting her to bed and waiting in your room till she falls asleep. The rest of the time is household duties and gardening (and maybe painting the fence, but unlikely). ...

Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bike, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter to The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of #296: gardens to create&jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. 4 hours help/day, 5 days a week, in exchange for 3 meals (make your own breakfast and lunch - food provided, I will cook big evening meal). You will not be hungry, I am plump and love my food and cooking! I have a job in the town, so this isnt a commercial thing, I just want to live off the land. I have a polytunnel and 30 raised beds. It's about an acre total land. I have a 3 bed cottage so you would have a room to sleep in, wifi etc. Im a single person and don't have kids so it is just me here. All you can hear are birds singing and the occasional Cockerell. I'm vegan/veggie so no meat allowed in house. I have oat milk but you can buy your own cow milk and eggs and have them in house. I've got hundreds of jobs to do including: strimming, mulching, weeding, planting, cleaning, digging, pruning, building, painting, harvesting, lifti...

Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (1yr). We are looking for 2 people to help. We require 1 person to help on the farm and 1 person to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me. Alex, Mel, Kenzie & Emmie

I’m a single mum with shared custody of an engaging 13 year old daughter, plus a little dog, looking for someone to join us from mid-March and stay for 6-8 weeks (or longer). I am self-employed in an import/export business, and have a large house and garden, the care of which get away from me without assistance! The help needed is with domestic tasks (dishes, cleaning etc) in the house, and mostly maintaining the garden and outside of the property. Someone who’s a bit handy and could undertake a few little fix-it jobs would be an added bonus. I work full-time, and sometimes need assistance to get Abigail to her various activities, so a full drivers license is required. My elderly mum occasionally needs to be driven places as well - she's a fun lady who provides vibrant and lively conversation. Abigail is pretty self-sufficient, and of course is only with me half the time, but she has a wide variety of interests and a zany sense of humour... she is easy to spend time with if you can ...

Hello there, I'm looking for travellers, nature lovers, people interested in permaculture and a different way of living. I'm Erik, class '88, I live in northern Italy where I've been building a permaculture project for the last few years. I've always been a dreamer, a wanderer seeking adventure and a deeper connection with Nature. After few years of working and travelling the world I decided to start this other journey here 1,5 hours drive from my birth place. As a sensitive person, Healing is a good portion of what drove this life choice into being, as I find it more gentle and sustainable for ourselves and the environment. On a more practical note, the land for now is taken care of for self sufficiency and not as a businness. I can offer food and accomodation in exchange of 3/4 hours of work, 5 days a week.. Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the tim...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Essentially, I moved into my first house and dream home a year ago and turned a massive lawn it into an organic vegetable farm - not to sell, just to eat!

Kia ora, travellers! WE HAD A CANCELLATION,... many fruits are ripe: grapes, apples, nashi, pears, cider vinegar apples ... I need help/someone with experience in juicing, preserving and bottling. Also, a bamboo structure could be built as a lean-to to my shed, for the rest - please read my profile below: ;-)) Haere mai - welcome - to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, there are now mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-maki...

I would be very happy to welcome volunteer teachers who are willing to help at my school for two or three months, or even for a full semester. *I want the volunteers who work at my school to not feel like they are working. Instead, I want them to feel that they are enjoying themselves and having a holiday while staying with us. Their room is fully equipped with air conditioning, hot showers, and a spacious private room that is separate from the main house, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.* My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities ...
