We (Riley, Serene and Bood) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This place is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). That said, it can get very wet in summer and early autumn; our wet season. Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, cassowary and hundreds of other bird species. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening, in the orchard and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for one or two h...

Summer discription: besides our work on the farm we organise international workcamps, long-term stays, and voluntary work in different companies as printery, carpentry, farming, nursery If you like to learn milking cows or driving an old tractor, cutting hedges, shear sheep, build fences or throw honey, test your strength in the muck or while digging the garden - you should join us. If you find dung and greens not so interesting, we understand :-) We are a living and working community with different workshops and bio-dynamic farming in Germany, Baden-Wuerttemberg. We are doing carpentry, printing, video production, publishing and distribution - it is always possible to help. Depending what you want to learn, you can help. We have four more than less old houses here in the village, so we also have to do a lot of construction work. The farming we do is not a business for us to earn money. We do it because we think farming is an important part in a holistic way of life. We have sheep, ...

We live in a nature sanctuary on Corfu island in Greece. we are a COMMUNITY of PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMAN BEINGS, who try to live together IN THE SPIRIT OF NATURE. we are organized similar to a zen monastery. yet we are not affiliated to any religious body, but to the holy body of our mother earth. the earth takes care of us. the earth gives to us what we need. she gives us and she for-gives us – she never asks for money… we admire the communities in nature (ecosystems), where all members balance their needs and gifts in a healthy way, without money, without machines and without chemicals. here in NATURE’S SANCTUARY we try to live in harmony with nature. we try to support and protect all our nature brothers and sisters, who share this sanctuary with us… it is a CHALLENGE TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE. it is a challenge to protect and support all nature beings in a way, that they have the chance to live in their own natural born communities. we are looking for people, who want to take...

Hello, I live in the beautiful Charente region 16140, and am looking for help with all sorts of jobs, from feeding the donkeys and other animals to painting and helping in the garden 😊 I am slowly bringing this lovely old château back to life after being empty and abandoned for many years. I enjoy growing my own organic vegetables and looking after my animals. I recently planted an orchard and have lots of other projects I'd love your help with. In the past I've shared some wonderful times with helpers, many of whom remain friends and have visited several times. In return I offer a comfortable bedroom in the chateau with 3 meals a day, and cooked as much as possible with our fresh produce. I would like your help for 5 hours a day with weekends off. There is lots to explore like little villages and towns and the river. The coast is about an hour's drive away. The Charente river is at the bottom of the garden and there are some lovely walks right outside the door, there are also b...

CURRENTLY SEEKING A COUPLE, single male or female from early March 2026 onwards, but please feel free to ask if you have some availability either now or in the future. A MINIMUM COMMITMENT of at least one month is required please. It takes about 2 weeks to settle in and learn things plus shorter stays do not allow you to fully experience all that is on offer in our beautiful area. Katie and I own a small crofting home in the rural heart of the Scottish West Highlands in a tiny village called Lochailort and we need help all year round. A good understanding of the English language is necessary. This location is not ideal for improving or learning English, as interaction with us and others can be limited. We are always looking for willing, reliable, pro-active, self motivated and enthusiastic volunteers :) Please whatsapp our mobile number or leave a message here if you are interested in a placement with us. We are particularly keen on couples with the male having some basic building o...

We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people, many of whom we still keep in touch with. We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables. We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible. Our house has solar panels on the roof for hot water and electricity, as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment. The work includes turning and spreading compost, making new beds and paths, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting. From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving. If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse. We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (own bathroom) in return for a helping hand, usually around 4 hours a day, 5/6 days a week, or e...

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. We are happy when someone shows enthusiasm for the garden because this is a central part...

I am looking for people that are passionate about dogs and like to spend time and work with dogs. A pack of 24 huskies is something different than having a pet dog at home. You will be able to join our animal assisted programs with kids and young adults and learn about it. I am educated in dog physiotherapy as well and there is the possibility to learn in this field as well. Beside the main topic the huskies we have bee hives and produce our own honey. There is a big garden with fruits and vegetables that needs maintainance. To sum it up our work here is mainly outdoors with nature and animals. Every day is different so its not possible to give you a long term daily structure in advance. There are some everyday tasks in the dogcare but the rest of the work depends on the weather and the season. As we live in a small village the main freetime activities are biking and hiking. More freetime options you find in cities around in your days off. Vienna is quite close and its possible to ta...

Hello, we live in a village in the nature, 5kms away from Ponteareas, by the river and surrounded by forests. At the moment(starting 2026) we mostly need a person (better if looking for a place to be quite at the nature) to take care of the house, the place and the dog, during the week, and in the weekend, around 10 hours some extra help, in exchange for a room in a bioconstructed and well isolated house. Not meals included in general. Activities needed might range between giving some atention to the property: gardening tasks mostly, and/or possibly some help cooking and tiding/cleaning or creating some beautiful paintings, sculptures or mosaic. We need help with the maintenance of the place; trees, gardens, fences, water channels, preparing wood for winter, cutting trees, etc. We love to be creative and share and teach/learn helping with different tools. 50 meters down from our house is passing the Uma river, with its waterfalls, and a 2,5 trekking beautiful path by wonderfull fore...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

We have a beautiful 6 hectare property in a really awesome valley. We have animals, a stream, lots of things growing. We have a large 3 bedroom house. We have a warm modern caravan for helpers to sleep in and all the other amenities are in the house. We have 3 awesome kids (only two live at home) and a great family vibe. We need help with working the land and making it as productive as we can. We need people who are hard working and take initiative. Prior experience is great but if you are a fast learner and up for a challenge then that is great too. A love of animals is definitely helpful as well. Projects include - gardening, building, organising, helping with animals, help around the house, fencing, tree planting and more. Cheers Regan and Lisa

** Vacancy from Mid February 2026 Hello! We are a family of five, and enjoy an outdoorsie life on our orchard. Rolf and I have a rambunctious 3 year old daughter Georgie, cheeky 1 year old daughter Lulu and a energetic 5 year old dog Barley. 5 chickens provide eggs and entertainment as well. Together we run our avocado orchard. We have a large veggie garden, greenhouse and 14ha property. We are seeking help with tending the orchard, trees, land and garden. Rolf works full time in town, and Ash works 2 days while taking care of the kids for the rest of the week. We have a warm and cosy cabin for helpers to stay in. The cabin has lights and 2 power sockets, but unfortunately does not recieve WiFi. The cabin is private, has ample parking and has a deck. This cabin is a short walk the main building - our shared space. There is a queen bed, so as long as two people don't mind sharing then it's suitable for two. Space for storing clothes and belongings as well. Lovely outlook onto wide op...

"I'm an early retired gentleman with a wonderful garden. I have 2 free bedrooms for my volunteer guests. I can accommodate 2 people but no couples please. I have many years experience with people staying in my home and enjoy their energy and both learning from them and sharing my life experience with them. I seek people with a high level of conversational English, ideally C1 English where we can engage freely and exchange ideas and learn from each other. Ideally, helpers would have an open and curious personality, meaning that they are happy to share and their ideas about the world we live and particularly a love of nature especially plant life.. I particularly admire artists, writers and musicians. My priority is to have some company and energy in my home. Activities include long walks, board games, tending garden, watching TV shows and conversations. In general the active time will be 5 hours a day / 5 days a week. Most of the active time will be just hanging out having chats, playi...

Hi, I’m Jo and I’ve created a small urban food forest in Coromandel town, based on permaculture principles. I’m looking for someone to stay for a few days (usually 3–5 at a time) to help in the garden and around the house. Tasks might include general food forest maintenance, light gardening, window cleaning and general housework. The exact length of stay will depend on how things are going and whether it feels like a good fit for both of us. I live in a small house and you’ll have your own bedroom with a king single bed. We share the bathroom and toilet. The house is right in Coromandel town, walking distance to shops and just a few minutes’ drive to the beach. In exchange for around 4 hours of help per day, I offer good food, a relaxed environment and friendly company. I share my home with a small dog, a cat, four chickens, two budgies and a turquoise parrot, so animal lovers are very welcome. Looking forward to meeting you, Jo

Hello and a Warm Welcome, I built this eco-house from earth bricks and natural timbers, to create a healthy, relaxing environment. It's on a 17 acre (6.7 hectare) paradise looking onto native bush, located in the Bombay Hills, about 60km south of Auckland CBD and 12km from the bus stop or the nearest shop. I've studied Organic Horticulture and grow our food that way, living a holistic, healthy lifestyle. There's avocado, lemon, lime, mandarin, grapefruit, banana, peach, walnut, macadamia trees, as well as fresh vegetables and herbs. Personally I eat an "O" blood type diet including meat, without grains or dairy, but I can buy them for you. Please tell me your food needs as I want you to be happy. Mature helpers who speak English are welcome, so they can follow instructions to work on their own, and have enough life experience to see what needs to be done and tidy up as they go. I like to have people around me who are conscious and conscientious. Please ...

I live in a quiet, peaceful area in Johnsonville, 10-15 minutes from Wellington City. It's easy to get into the centre of town via a nearby train station or bus if you want to enjoy the social and cultural buzz of the wonderful central city. All the usual amenities like shops, library, cafes etc. are within walking distance from my house. The house is 2 minutes walk away from great walking tracks and beautiful bush. I am a friendly self-employed artist into dance and creativity. I share the house with a female flatmate. I am looking for one or two people to help me with things around the house. There is d gardening, water blasting, some painting and possibly some cleaning to be done. I prefer for you to work 2 hours a day (I am flexible on how you spread out the hours through the week), in return for a nice room, but would consider 4 hours work a day for room and food. I can pick you up and return you to Wellington Airport if you are flying in or going to the ferry.

This is not a tourist destination, but a rural village in Shikoku. Hello, my name is Masa. My English is beginner level. This job is not for people who spend all day on their phones, slack off, don't like my poor English, are afraid of bugs, or don't respect local culture. I run an organic farm by myself. I grow delicious vegetables, mainly tomatoes, and eggs. I am always thinking about a rich lifestyle and world peace. This area is blessed with many historic rice terraces and a mountainous environment surrounded by beautiful rivers. It's the perfect environment for nature lovers. Work will involve general farming tasks, such as harvesting and shipping vegetables, washing vegetables, planting seedlings, weeding, and pruning. Please join us for a variety of rural tasks. The work is easy, safe, and you'll learn a lot. Work a maximum of 28 hours a week. Start time is around 7:00-8:00 AM. After work, we'll have lunch together for free. Afternoons are free time. You'll have two days off ...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Hello :) We are a small German family (Jens 55, Doreen 47 and Sam 8) who emigrated to Norway many years ago. We live on a farm here and now have 43 sheep. We need some help with tasks like cleaning out the stable and feeding them. In addition, there are always several tasks to be done on a farm, such as repairing or building fences, felling trees, sawing wood with a chainsaw or cross-cut saw, preparing winter wood and, if necessary, gardening work such as pulling weeds. You'll be staying in a camper van/caravan parked right next to our house. You'll be able to enter the house at any time and use the bathroom and our kitchen. The camper van, of course, has electricity and Wi-Fi. :)

Good morning everyone! My name is Lidia and I live in Sabina, in the countryside near Rome. I'm looking for someone who loves the rhythms of nature and can help me prune the olive trees, fix the fence, and do other maintenance work. I'm reorganizing my ceramics studio and need help. In August, I could host someone to take over caring for my two cats and a dog and watering my beloved garden. Do you think this would interest you? In November, you could help me harvest the olives. I have a wonderful, centuries-old olive grove, and this could be an interesting experience for you. You'll certainly get your share of the oil for this work. The next step will be pruning the olive trees... If you know how to use a chainsaw, do small carpentry or plumbing jobs, and want to experience this, you're welcome! Travelers in campers and other vehicles are welcome, and we'll accommodate you in a separate room. The duties and hours of assistance vary depending on the season and needs, but no more tha...

We need help for the month of May 26! Welcome to our small family run Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful town of Denmark, in the south of Western Australia. Surrounded by magnificent trees and the beaches of the southern Ocean, there are many things to do, especially bushwalking, surfing and snorkelling. The town is 5km away, the nearest beach 2km. As all our three children have left and live their own lives elsewhere, it is just me, Anna, my husband Matt and our beautiful old dog Anuschka living here. We are from Germany originally and have been here for the past 26 years. We have always open doors and have hosted many backpackers over the years. You will be sleeping in our caravan in the garden which has its own undercover deck in front and a double bed. You will be having your meals with us in our comfy kitchen. We require help with maintenance around the house as well as special projects and some help with the B&B. We love to try out food prepared by you, if you like.

We live on a 5-acre property about 25 minutes from Broome, The property always has maintenance and gardening jobs depending on the season. We ask for 3-4 hours work a day in return for accommodation. There several cooking options including the basic indoor kitchen and BBQ outside. You can get the fire going and make your damper in the coals. Each year after Easter we establish a large food garden for all to share and need help with its upkeep. We are keen on permaculture principles and are eager to improve our skills. Other anticipated jobs include turning and conditioning compost, checking reticulation, digging, raking, weeding, re-potting plants, feeding animals, collecting horse manure, domestic duties, painting and general cleaning. Jobs are negotiated in line with experience and skills. It gets hot in Broome, so work is usually done early in the mornings or late afternoon when it is cooler. We often share a meal or two and love when our guests offer to cook. We operate on a sa...

We have a warm modern caravan for helpers to sleep in and all the other amenities are in the house. We have 3 awesome kids (only two live at home) and a great family vibe.
