Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

Hawaii Beach Project: This is a construction project that believes in creating positive change by using sustainable methods and newly invented building materials and procedures. Our project has been underway for over a decade and through the process we have had the opportunity to present a transformative experience for individuals who want to work on not only bringing the building and environment to a higher place, but to also bring themselves to a higher place. We provide and encourage all who come to volunteer to participate in meditation groups and seminars, yoga practices, healthy eating options (all of the food here is provided for you!), and make strong and lasting relationships with everyone who lives here! We are looking for long term help in carpentry, mechanical, electrical, fiber cable installation, tiling, masonry, and drywall. If you have any experience in any of these construction areas and would like to spend a minimum of 3 months living on a beach on Kauai Island, the...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters !! .please don`t apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers ! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar ( badly ) and sing ( worse ) ,but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

Hi everybody, I'm Carl. I own and manage a hobby farm, airbnb and camping area. I'm currently looking for someone/people to help with yard maintenance and landscaping for about 4 hours a day in exchange for food and accommodation; open to negotiation. This is a 3 acre hobby farm and it's a place to work and learn and have fun. At the moment I can accommodate 2 people in a self contained caravan which is already set up on site with a bush bathroom and shower. Or you can camp on site. It's time to do some gardening, planting and weeding. I also need someone to do general day to day stuff, like cleaning, feeding the animals, etc. And I need people with building skills and/or want to learn building skills, there's a job for everyone, depending what you want. Also I need to finish the sun room. I'm near Maclean, halfway between Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour. TOWN, RIVER and BEACHES are only 10mins away. It's a quiet area, bush and Kangaroos at the back door. We have World Heritage Rain...

We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. We average 2/3 hours a day painting, plumbing gardening and other repairs and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe it’s more convenient to do two longer days during the week. Free coffee, tea and a simple breakfast (i.e. Cereal, toast) usually available. When you email please let us know when you plan to get to Perth and how you are travelling (flying in, driving or bus etc.). If you are already in Perth, where you are staying and how long yo...

Congratulations! You’re planning a trip to Thailand! It’s an ancient exotic country full of old traditions and new foods. For generations, tourists have journeyed to Thailand creating tourist hotspots and establishing roads, such as the “Banana Pancake Road” (Check it out if you don’t know what it is). Following the tourist route gives new travelers a safety net to help with culture shocks and provide familiar conveniences. But is that the Thailand you were really hoping to experience? Let me tell you a bit about my Thailand. Life starts as early as 4am here. The early morning fresh market in the closet town (Pak Chong) is already busy and crowded. Field workers head out to worksites around 5am. They’ll stop and buy grilled pork on a stick and sticky rice from small food venders who will close by 8am. Around 6am, monks collect alms and offer blessings. Local buses take kids to school while the world wakes up. Afternoons are hot and everyone looks for shady trees. When the evening f...

Looking for help with the garden and the house, this will take up 2h/day. I live in Thurgoona, which is a suburb of Albury. There is unlimited internet, you will have your own room. This helpx placement would suit a fit single traveler with own transport who can work unsupervised. Would prefer a male helper with references and own initiative, non-smoker. All the heavy work is done now and it is mainly maintenance, mostly weeding and tidying up. I am a dual citizen with German heritage. I work part-time from home and part -time outside of the house. Albury is on the main highway between Sydney and Melbourne, about 6-7h from Sydney and about 4h from Melbourne. It is a nice country town with cafes and all shops etc., Saturday night life, cinema etc. There is the weir for swimming, some nice towns to visit in the mountains, such as Bright, Mt Beauty and Falls Creek. There are also a few areas with famous wineries around Rutherglen, the King Valley etc. Thanks.

We are a couple with grown up children so we gout space to have up to 5 people stay and work with us at our organic farm. I am a cook and my partner is a teacher and landscape engineer. We work with vegetable production, in greenhouses and outdoor. In the summertime we have tomatoes, egplants, peppers, chillies, beans, mm in our greenhouses and different vegetables in the field. Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We’re a mature couple who work in the city and live on a small farm - a peaceful retreat from the urban rush. Our companions are a few horses and dogs. Most of them came to us from the rescued shelter and in poor condition. With time, care, and patience, we’ve helped them heal. Our farm isn’t a commercial venture; it’s simply a quiet, cozy place to live close to nature. We’re looking for a reliable helper - someone who’s interested in staying with us long-term. What we offer: - Private accommodation in a converted sea container, fully equipped with a gas stove, shower, refrigerator, and other essentials. - Groceries provided - you prepare your own meals. - Free internet access (limited). We can also offer guidance and support with the residency application process for those who wish to stay long-term. If you’re over 25, love animals, enjoy farm life, and consider yourself hardworking, responsible, and adaptable - we’d be happy to welcome you. ...

Hi, we are Zoe (40) and Shmu (39) and live in a small farm house with our 2 young kids, (6 & 3) and a kelpie in the beautiful Manning Valley on the mid coast of NSW. We have an on farm business where we make fermented food and drinks (Bottle Culture) and wholesale them to shops on the east coast of Australia. We also have a side business of regeneratively farmed beef, and am also starting to make tallow based skin care products. We have been on our farm for about 6 years, and there is always lots to do! With a home business and young kids lots of the farm jobs get put off for too long so we are always needing help! We have a small syntropic style food forest in our backyard, along with a small veggie garden which we would like to expand as well as a small flock of chickens, guinea fowl, and a mob of about 25 cattle. We hope to one day have a commercial syntropic orchard and market garden but there's a lot of work to do before we get there! Ideally we are looking for a couple or 2 ...

We live on a small property eight minutes from Kerikeri township. We have a private lake and kayaks are available to explore. We used to run a bed and breakfast here so I guess we can say we dont bite and our place is clean and comfortable. Some animals and chickens on site. Fruit when in season. Having a vehicle to explore for times when you are not working is a must and there is no public transport here. We are meat eaters. We need help now throughout the year. I have some physical limitations and require help to get on top of STUFF. We have many trees that have been felled waiting for splitting with a fuel powered machine, paths needed to be built, gardening, general gardening tools available and I am also building a cottage. Inside work for those wet days include painting, plus preparation, cleaning windows plus other general household tasks. Woodworking/carpentry skills could be an asset. Overview: We are a Tibetan Buddhist Centre that welcomes HelpX volunteers interested in learning more about meditation, Buddhism and the spiritual life. Jobs are mainly cleaning, gardening and grounds work. We offer accommodation usually in our dorm and free attendance at classes & meditations. Volunteers are responsible for their own food - but are welcome to also use the veggies in the veggie garden (seasonal). We are a Registered Charitable Trust and rely on volunteers and donations. We do not have a large budget and are unable to provide food money to short-term volunteers. This is really a place for those that wish to learn more about Buddhism, live in our community and offer service for a short period (1 - 3 weeks). Hi. We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a dog and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accommodation, meals (please provide your own snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found their way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g. 1 or 2 weeks or months stay but ...

Summer update: Things are trucking along, lots of grass due to lots of rain. The garden needs plenty of attention; there are plenty of fruits that need picking and processing. Most of the honey has been taken off, and the extracting has begun. There are still trips out to the bee sites to harvest more honey. We have a small beekeeping business. We have a large organic vegetable garden and fruit trees. Due to life circumstances, our garden needs a lot of work to return to its former glory, but we are still managing to grow some vegetables amid the chaos. We eat meat and our own eggs. We have 20 chickens and 1 dog who loves humans. We eat healthy food, but love treats too. We make our own yoghurt, kombucha, sauerkraut and kimchi, and love trying new foods. Sourdough is the next challenge. We live well but simply. Our home is a basic old farmhouse cottage, which is homey, with a woodburner. Accommodation is in the house in a spare room. We need help with gardening, property maintenanc...

I enjoy showing people how they can live on the land more sustainably, how they can build their own eco-friendly homes and grow their own food using what is around them, to adopt, adapt and change permaculture principals to suit their own needs. I'm looking for mature couples or singles who are travelling around the South West in their Camper Van or Car with tent etc..., basically they need to be mostly self contained. I have some nice camp sites here that are clean, safe and located in a private, natural setting. I will provide access to clean toilet and shower. If you would like to come, stay and help me here, please send me a message ! I can help you with many other things.., I can usually help you locate services or locations that only long time locals will know ! I have lived on my own little permaculture farm beside the Leeuwin/Naturaliste National Park forest since 1982. I have built my own home using local granite stone and timber( milled from the floor of my creek line). ...

Thanks.

We have many trees that have been felled waiting for splitting with a fuel powered machine, paths needed to be built, gardening, general gardening tools available and I am also building a cottage. Living at a Buddhist Centre we ask you to respect the Lay Buddhist Precepts during your stay (ex. no killing, no lying, no stealing, no taking intoxicants, etc.) and be respectful of Centre residents. 4 good hours of work per day, 2 days off per week.
