Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland trai...

You will like it here! We need help in our garden in the next months, e.g. watering, weeding, cutting branches and so on. It is not hard work! We are a little unconventional community of 4 persons (67,66,72,75), 1 friendly dog and 2 playful cats and we live in a cosy house surrounded by a garden. Our children are on their own, but they sometimes visit us. We raise our own organic vegetables in several raised beds and normal garden beds. There is always something to do in the garden and around the house or walking the dog, cleaning windows and so on... We live in a small rural village in the beautiful hills of the "Odenwald". Our village is located roughly between Heidelberg and Frankfurt, also Mannheim and Darmstadt can be visited easily. There is a good public transportation to all these cities. The Odenwald is a famous hiking region and ideal for mountain biking, a bike is available. There is a climbing rock not far from our house. We speak English quite fluently and some French. ...

I would be very happy to welcome volunteer teachers who are willing to help at my school for two or three months, or even for a full semester. *I want the volunteers who work at my school to not feel like they are working. Instead, I want them to feel that they are enjoying themselves and having a holiday while staying with us. Their room is fully equipped with air conditioning, hot showers, and a spacious private room that is separate from the main house, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.* My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities ...

Summer discription: besides our work on the farm we organise international workcamps, long-term stays, and voluntary work in different companies as printery, carpentry, farming, nursery If you like to learn milking cows or driving an old tractor, cutting hedges, shear sheep, build fences or throw honey, test your strength in the muck or while digging the garden - you should join us. If you find dung and greens not so interesting, we understand :-) We are a living and working community with different workshops and bio-dynamic farming in Germany, Baden-Wuerttemberg. We are doing carpentry, printing, video production, publishing and distribution - it is always possible to help. Depending what you want to learn, you can help. We have four more than less old houses here in the village, so we also have to do a lot of construction work. The farming we do is not a business for us to earn money. We do it because we think farming is an important part in a holistic way of life. We have sheep, ...

Hi ! My name is Bob. I'm 74 years old and have a little wooden house at the foot of a sand dune in the Southwestern part of France. It’s about 100 metres away from the beach which is just over the dune. I love ❤️ kids and animals and nature and people who are honest and kind….. I was born in California and spent my first few decades there before immigrating to Canada. I love traveling and meeting new people. In 1969 I bought a ten year old VW Westphalia camper for USD$ 600.00…it had a 10 gallon gas tank and gas was 25 cents à gallon. That’s about 38 litres of fuel for 2.50 USD$ Do you know how many energy crises the world has had in my short life? Drill baby Drill! A group of young Dutch University students made an amazing solar powered camper car…Google "STELLA VITA Dutch Students" if you’d like see a camping car powered by the sun! Let’s hope big oil, politicians and global financial institutions start listening to what Mother Nature is telling them. Our children an...

Would like to learn and look after a vineyard and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. It is situated in the Swan Valley, 7km from Elenbrook and 15km from the Perth airport. The vineyard has 3,000 vines, a large house we live in, a machinery shed, and a winery/distillery on the property. Winemaking occurs during the summer months from January to March. A large, spacious room with a double bed, attached to the house, has a private entrance. Applications for mature couples as applicants are now open. Opportunities for vineyard and maintenance work are available. Couples with Visitor Visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking) volunteers who wish to experience domestic, distillery, vineyard, and winemaking work. During the season, there are generally outdoor activities, such as winery and vine work, plus gardening if it is not raining or too hot. Be ...

Hello, we are Cat and Silvan, who is 6 years old. We live on an organic permaculture farm in the Pyrenees in the south of France. The property is situated in a small hamlet of 8 houses bordering a wild forest including chestnut, ash, oak, acacia and cherry. We grow much of our own fruit and vegetables and collect hazelnuts, walnuts, mushrooms and wild herbs from the forest. I cut my own wood and much of the wood used in the construction has been harvested from the land. We have 5 goats and friends graze their horses during the summer months. I enjoy eating fresh food from the garden and like to be creative with dishes with what can be sourced locally rather than necessarily going to a big supermarket. We buy locally and organic where possible to supplement what we have in the garden. When there are more of us here we often do a rotation of cooking, which is great as we get to taste each others variations and be inspired. If you are not confident in cooking don't worry, it is a gre...

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station. I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer I have lived here all my life and can introduce you...

Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of September 2026. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, self defense, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the lo...

For 2026, we are very happy to welcome applications for longer stays - 1, 2, 3 or even 6 months. I have been commissioned to write THE book on vegan self sufficiency. If are here in the first half of 2026, you can very much be involved in the production! We are on a mission here to build a beautiful vegan community, dedicated to thinking about climate change and how to be Better People. This year we will be finishing the running water, the hot showers and the vineyard! You can come and learn everything there is to know about self sufficiency - water, energy, food and more. At the minute, I can offer either accommodation only, in exchange for about 8 - 10 hours a week, or a more traditional work-exchange of food and board and all that goes with it in return for 5 hours a day doing the things which need to be done! We cook and eat together as much as you want. For the right long term applicant, we may be able to help with some of your travel costs. The barracks are a disused former ...

Hello! As I have little children, I’m only interested in Solo female travellers only. Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

Hello. We are a small Llamas farm, located in the Pyrenees mountains. If you are looking for an original French experience, it could be the right place for you! Here in the high Pyrenees, near the Andorra & Spanish border, we offer you the possibility to live and work in a calm and isolated place, surrounded by high mountains and nothing but pure nature, and good meals "à la française" after our activities among our lamas (about 15 of them). We are a retired French couple, but we used to work and live in foreign countries and continents, which made us interested in people and cultures from all over the world. In the surroundings, there are beautiful places that we would be happy to make you discover, and if you want, we can trek together with Llamas... For your own, you get an entire and cosy apartment (2 bedrooms, 1 or 2 people, single or couple), and join us for generous meals, mostly with local products, that we like to share and appreciate together (so, no vegetarian requir...

Our place sits high on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of mountains, valleys, rolling hills and city lights overlooking all of Albury/Wodonga, twin cities on the Murray River. We are on the main freeway between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Large luxury cedar and rock homestead on 100 acres. Lots of historic church features incorporated into the homestead and cute rustic outbuildings , antiques and artistic detail abound. Beautiful and unique large garden filled with 100+ sculptures, many paths to explore, ponds, organic vegetable and berry gardens, free range poultry and wildlife galore and many other interesting features. Lots of fun things to do and see here and everyone who has stayed has left with a happy and memorable experience. We have been a host farm for over 18 years now with well over 250 helpers having stayed. Usually it is only a one to two week stay but that is negotiable depending on how much work there is and how well we all get on. Sometimes I will accept ...

Take Note: I am looking for help from now, 2nd of July for around 3 months (or longer). Please Note: I have recently had a stroke - recovering very well but unable to be as involved as before - not yet, any way!!! We have just experienced an extremely challenging last 18 months, with three of our family members (one being myself) experiencing very difficult health issues. Our youngest daughter has had to undergo multiple surgeries since early September 2024, then in mid December, 2024,our 2nd daughter broke her neck and is now wheelchair bound and I suffered a stroke in mid March last year. Needless to say we are all endeavoring to get back to as normal as possible, as soon as possible and for myself, having spent 3 and a half months in hospital recuperating, I am very pleased to be back on the farm. I do need help with some of the day to day chores I am looking for folk who can help out with assisting in establishing our Spring/Summer vegie garden, as well as some tidying up around t...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah where the weather is more pleasant) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay, and currently we have space beginning July 1st. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, love t...

HI, I am Paul, I live on my 14M monohull steel sloop (one mast) called "Kakadu". Aboriginal name for medicine plant. I have been cruising up and down the Qld coast for 10yrs. I would greatly appreciate some help on the boat to do cleaning and maintenance. Jobs like sanding wood and steel, painting wood and steel and cleaning other surfaces. Some of the paints aren't very nice but I will provide proper breathing equipment and gloves. The fun part is your living on the water in awesome spots. I have snorkelling and fishing gear and a dingy to explore with. It's easy in the Whitsundays to sail to a different spot every few days . Stay, explore do some jobs. I also appreciate a hand in sailing the boat and I'm OK teacher. I return to town when supplies are needed. I carry 1000L of water. I am 60 yrs old, have worked in Engineering studied Economics and had a cattle farm. I am a happy drinker (we call them Sundowners, sometimes before) and I do smoke. It's winter now, the days are us...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own single or a shared double room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll tr...

I‘ll tr...
