We've lived overseas for many years, including time in South America, Asia and the Middle East, and returned 15 years ago to start our 'off grid adventure'. Having 'internationalized' it's been time to put some roots down (literally) in a sustainable, creative and co-evolutionary way. These days we're a family of four (kids aged 13 and 10) with 3 dogs/chickens/guinea pigs. We speak some Spanish and a little Japanese and would receive foreigners eagerly (also fellow NZers of course). We're one hour's drive from the nearest towns (Kaitaia and Kerikeri) although a small organic co-op is twenty-five minutes away. Neighbours include a Bee-Keeper and his family, artists, potters and homesteaders, some of whom are open to receiving helpers who may wish to spend more time in the area. People wishing to learn about setting up off-grid so that they can do so themselves would be able to pick up valuable skills at our place. Helpers stay in either a fifteen by eight foot caravan with solar power...

Learn about gardening, woodworking and find yourself on a journey to your soul in Macclesfield, South Australia Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly being booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2-hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature. I am part of the local Landcare Group, protecting our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You can help with landcare work and organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. The current to-do list includes building a roof in front of the chicken coop and another in front of...

2026 UPDATE* Seeking motivated person/couple interested in large scale gardening, firewood/ stipend We're a farm and homestead community situated in the scenic Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. A family farm for 2 generations, we grow fruit and vegetables in our garden and greenhouse, wild berries, fruit trees, and Christmas trees. The farm is adjacent to several thousand acres of state forest, accessed and enjoyed by a network of trails leading to streams/brooks with swimming spots and waterfalls. In 2025, work is focused on gardening, growing high-tunnel crops, collecting berries, farm stand operation, and trail maintenance. Tasks may include: weeding, planting, harvesting and helping to sell produce. Other tasks might include things that help keep the farm going and prepare for the long-run, like fixing irrigation or farm structures and equipment, painting, landscaping projects, and processing or preserving food. Helpers can choose tasks that they feel comfortable with. We ca...

We're offering off grid accommodation to an individual (or couple) interested in hospitality and light farming/grounds maintenance/recreational trail building. The area offers excellent opportunities for seasonal employment with the National Park, adventure programs and dining establishments close by. - - - - - The homestead is located just a few miles west of Acadia National Park, in downeast Maine. Hi, my name is Ian and my wife Kylyn and I live in Wentworth Falls with our 3 kids (11, 13 & 16). We are looking for some willing helpers to camp out (or park your campervan/caravan) at our Campground in Katoomba (16 Acres) to do some bush regeneration and targeted weeding of identified noxious weeds that the local council want us to remove. The deal is free camping for 1hr of work/day/group (up to 2 campers). The work is on easy terrain. This is flexible time e.g. if you want to do 3hrs on one morning, then you don't do anything on the next 2 days etc. It will be like camping in a National Park Campground with a toilet facility (Composting) and a funky BYO water Hot Shower. You will need to be self-sufficient with sourcing water, showering and managing your rubbish. There is a service station about 1.5km away where you can collect your free water. We provide a 20L water container to help with this process. One benefit of camping on private property as opposed to a NP is that you a...

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

Minimum stay is two weeks. Help needed in April planting trees and preparing soil for planting and sowing seeds. Would like to learn more German so help with that would be good. Looking out for 3-D artists to make an addition to our sculpture trail in the woods! People with interest in natural history or the arts are welcome and we like interesting food from different cultures. We are now growing more vegetables and have some Hebridean sheep and a few chickens. Springtime is preparation for the summer and tree planting. In July we need help picking fruit (raspberries and cherries) so half your time will be spent picking fruit or foraging and the other half will vary. Please state in your application that you are fine with this. We have a farm that has been converted mostly into trees ages 20 - 35 years ago that need maintenance. This involves pruning the trees and planting new ones and weeding round the trees. We also try to develop the flora in the woods by planting wild flowers an...

We live in a beautiful log home on a large property, surrounded by big vegetable and flower gardens. We have a pond, canoes and bicycles and a serene and bird filled ambience that is extremely peaceful and healing. My husband and I are going on a wilderness canoe trip to the Yukon and the most important task here at home is to take care of our 20 year old dog Pixie. She is a husky cross, she is extraordinary in that she goes for long walks each day and is full of love. Still at her age she makes sure everyone is counted outside at home. She sleeps maybe 18 hours a day in her dog bed on the porch. The most important task is to take her for a walk a day, feed her every night and fill her water bowls. We need someone to live in the house so that she feels someone is home and watching her while she watches them. We have a room with a queen size bed for those who come stay here. One young woman, or 2 young women would be preferred. Pixie is a woman's dog. I have sprinklers set up ...

Hello, we are Cat and Silvan, who is 6 years old. We live on an organic permaculture farm in the Pyrenees in the south of France. The property is situated in a small hamlet of 8 houses bordering a wild forest including chestnut, ash, oak, acacia and cherry. We grow much of our own fruit and vegetables and collect hazelnuts, walnuts, mushrooms and wild herbs from the forest. I cut my own wood and much of the wood used in the construction has been harvested from the land. We have 5 goats and friends graze their horses during the summer months. I enjoy eating fresh food from the garden and like to be creative with dishes with what can be sourced locally rather than necessarily going to a big supermarket. We buy locally and organic where possible to supplement what we have in the garden. When there are more of us here we often do a rotation of cooking, which is great as we get to taste each others variations and be inspired. If you are not confident in cooking don't worry, it is a gre...

I am a creative person living in Mumbai (Bombay) , India, I grew up in rural and urban natural lives. Making me experience working on farms, cities and learn some things on different levels of cultures, society differences, Indian deeper roots, religious, spiritual and positivity through life. So looking at life in its best or worst way, with in its various colourful shades. 👉🏼 For References - ask for my other volunteer site profile. 👉🏼 My passion is film making but still I am trying to develop my spiritual understanding. Sametime in support of growing world awareness of organic life or climate changes comes as a beginning of a new era. And proud to be part of it as its time to deconstruct what we constructed just in few decades. Mumbai city is the only city in the world where the Country lives in a city i.e you will find everyone from the different parts of India living in the city of Mumbai. The city also supports some ancient spiritual caves and temples. It is active in mov...

We live on an alternative lifestyle block with "off grid", barn living. On the property we have a small organic banana farm which uses permaculture design principles and composted food waste from City to Farm — an initiative that gathers food scraps from urban areas and delivers them to nearby farms. We have horses, dogs, chickens, and graze cattle regeneratively. For accommodation we have a big barn space which can house a lot of people comfortably. Currently one young kiwi staying there. Where possible we grow and eat our own fruit and veges from our vege garden and our small grove of fruit trees. We also have 15 acres of regenerated native bush on our property which needs tending to. Our water is supplied from rain water, and a natural spring, and the property runs on solar. Meals will be vegetarian, happy to accommodate vegans as well! Most of your work will be in the bananas, but there will also be the opportunity to work with the animals, in the bush, in the vege garden/orchar...

Visit the Thames Coast on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula! Enjoy home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops or hangout here and make art. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday, loving every second left ! However, we seriously need help with the massive task of 296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host he...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

Looking for a lovely volunteer(s) to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM early October. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and an elderly but treasured chicken. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Maps") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

We are looking for helpers from the beginning of August and have space for up to four people at the moment. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so everyone has their own space. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. At the moment we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city. We operate Muriwai surf school and adventure hire centre at Muriwai Beach. The deal is 2 hours work per da...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

A wonderfully unique opportunity (but, not for everyone) : We're a well-established community, based on mindfulness and conscious living, in the mountains between Santa Fe and ABQ, New Mexico. Music, theater, performing arts, creative projects, healthy living/wellness, meditation, spiritual growth and intentional movement are all cornerstones of our existence. Keywords that describe our chosen way of living: Laughter, kindness, respect to all, enthusiasm, organic, fun, inspiring, collaborative, focused on becoming our best selves to be available for service to others. We'd welcome folks interested in experiencing our community...who enjoy participating in and helping with a variety of projects in a positive and creative environment! We are always juggling a myriad of projects.... and enjoy aligning the best projects with the best individuals offering to help. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

Attention!! Please read careful this before you write me. I am a bit tired of people writing me with all the enthusiasm requesting to come, very often I don't even get I answer back. I assume who ever you are, you are applying to different places at the same time, that's Ok, but if you write me, answer back even to say you are not finally coming, take the time to say no. since it was you who initiated the conversation, don't make me loose my time and energy, we are people communicating, not platforms that you can simply ignore when you request a place and find something else, for me this is important and already an essential way of how I want to welcome people in my house. Lets humanize the conversations please, lets take time, lest change this digital hipper speed no answer means empty narratives, NOW: I’m inviting a creative and open-minded person to share up to 2 weeks of artistic life in the countryside, just 30 minutes by bike from Amsterdam center. Hei, here is Monica and Mario During the pandemic our life changed radically and we are now living in the beautiful island of Skrova, most known as Lofoten's Little Hawaii!! Monica is from Portugal, 35 years old and Mario from USA (half Norwegian/Sicilian....) 34 years old. The atmosphere on the island is very relaxed and friendly! It's a small island and since we are the only cafe/restaurant, give us the oportunity to have a very strong conection with the local comunity. Volunteers that stay with us have the oportunity to meet and get close to locals and local life. We we like to go for walks, kayaking, paddle boarding, spend time in nature, eat some nice food (Mario is a great cook) and have some chats with a glass of red wine (preference under the shy Norwegian Sun ;) oh and we loooove to use the sauna!!! ;) We have various projects going on: - A little guesthouse with 15 rooms - a local cafe/restaurant, set in a beautiful 200 years old building - Our house: small tasks around ...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. It is our mission to provide visitors from all over the world with an authentic experience of the unique atmosphere and culture of our home in Canada’s far North. As a well-established tourism company, we are diversifying our impacts and create a more resilient business. Doing this is not only fulfilling our long-term mission of developing a self-sustaining Arctic Eco-Village, but also investigating innovative solutions to major obstacles facing communities in the North: food and housing insecurity, decolonizing our economy, capacity development and cultural revitalization. Sustainable farming is not the only focus we have here, but we are continuously developing ideas and trying new farming methods. We are happy to find people from all over the world who are as motivated as we are to make living in the Arctic more sustainable. Organic methods: In the summer time, when we enjoy 24 hour sunshine, we grow our plants in greenhouses without the use of any chemical/artificial fertilizers....

Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. We would love to welcome you to our beautiful log home near the Canadian Rockies for a unique volunteer experience surrounded by nature, wildlife, and true Alberta ranch life. Our home sits on a stunning 60-acre property with ponds, walking trails, open space, and incredible mountain-country scenery. The lodge itself is over 10,000 square feet and offers modern comforts, including a gym, cozy fireplaces, quiet spaces to relax, and plenty of room to feel at home. Volunteers have a private bedroom and share a washroom with 2–3 others, depending on the group size. We host a maximum of 6 volunteers at one time, which keeps the experience social, comfortable, and family-style. We are located about 20 minutes from Kananaskis, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Banff, and approximately 1 hour from Calgary, making this a great base for exploring some of the most beautiful areas in Canada. We are currently looking for motivated, easygoing volunteers to help with general property projects and day-to...

This is an exchange ba...

Who are we ? Hello ! My name is Marlene, I live in a small coffee farm near Fusagasuga with my family: my husband Omar Ricardo, my son Joseph who is 16 years old, and my mother in law Modesta. We also live with our 2 dogs and 2 cats who are very friendly. I am a professor of middle school and I work half a day, except on weekends, but Omar Ricardo, Joseph and Modesta are always here in the farm. It's only been a year and a half since we have been living here in the country, as we were before living in Bogota and then Fusagasuga. That's why our farm still needs a lot of improvement :) About our farm : Our farm is in the middle of the country, at 25 minutes by car and 30 minutes by bus of Fusagasuga. The bus stop is at 10 min by feet and pases each half-our. If you need we can take you in Fusagasuga by car: We have 3 hectares of property, in which we cultivate coffee and other trees like, guanabana, platan, cacao, mangoes, avocados, oranges, lemon, mandarine. You can taste and enjoy ...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start mid-November and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in return for their generous servic...
