We're a truganic, biodynamic, permaculture farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, two hours Northwest of NYC. 24 acres with approx. 4 acres of wetlands. Approximately 5 acres under cultivation. We follow all the organic standards, and above (since organic standards are constantly being downgraded by the USDA), but are not certified organic. We DO NOT use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, "cides" of any kind, or chemical fertilizers. We also follow biodynamic & permaculture principles. Season is April through October. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. Hello! Help us in our small farm, in a small village close to Vevey (15min by car) and Lausanne (25 min by car). We are Arnaud and Vanessa, and our kids are Céleste (3yo) and Léandre (1yo). Over the past five years, we have renovated the house and we still need a little help with the finishing touches and day-to-day management with our animals: our dog Maya, our horses Mélisse and Nova and our cats Léo and Chaussette. :) No experience needed, but motivation ! We have availability from mid-April. You contribute 3-4 hours a day and we'll provide you a bedroom in a separate flat (possibly with one other helper, if you're both OK with this organization), shared kitchen and living room, food and drinks, WiFi. Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management.
