Most of the work will involve gardening, like planting, pruning, harvesting oranges and olives. Other work includes tidying up the place, general household chores, painting building and maintenance of the 8 bungalows I rent to tourists. I ask for 4-5 hours a day, 1 or 2 days free for your own. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. In 2006 my husband and me moved from Germany to Croatia with the intention of a simple life in a natural, rural and clean enviroment. A few years ago sadly my husband passed away. In the meantime my mum moved in , so its the two "old ladys " :-) Now i am trying to handle the "farm" on my own. During our life here we have realized how many poor dogs and cats are abonded and we started "picking" them from the street, giving them a shelter and try to find a new home. Work will be starting in April and continue through the summer and fall. We would like help inside and outside and with plenty of gardening and watering of the garden. This is a small project in a heritage farm house in beautiful Lower Saxony. We are at the moment three people, two cats and some chickens. We speak German, English, French and Spanish. Our house is in the middle of the village, and we enjoy the contact to the people around us. Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. Greetings from Nulu, we are a small young family in search of some helping hands. We grow organic fruit and herbs in our yard and have a rainwater tank. Papayas, bananas, passion fruits and pineapple are all growing well so far. Our house is a little bit of a sanctuary for travelers and we enjoy the company of friends often. We can offer you a room to yourself and some meals for a single or couple in exchange for 2 hours help each day excluding weekends.
