Hello! We’re Clara and Fabien. After having some amazing experiences abroad as HelpX helpers ourselves, we thought it was time to become hosts and welcome travellers into our home. We live in a small mountain village in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees. If you enjoy nature and being outdoors, you’ll probably love it here. In winter, there are ski resorts nearby, snowshoeing, beautiful walks, and plenty of hiking trails starting right from the village. We can host one person or a couple. We’re not looking for perfect helpers—just people who are easygoing, respectful, curious, and happy to share a bit of their daily life with us. During the winter season, we’ll need some help with our Nordic hot tubs. The work is pretty straightforward: getting the tubs ready for guests, carrying and stacking wood, keeping the area tidy, and helping with a few everyday tasks. We’ll explain everything, so no experience is needed. In exchange, we’ll share meals, spend time together, and happily show y...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah where the weather is more pleasant) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary. Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers. Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay, and currently we have space beginning July 1st. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, love t...

We are La Maison Rouge, a small, independent backpacker hostel and community café ran by Isabelle and Diana with the support of an association. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Hei ! Here is Ingunn and Mathieu. We are a Norwegian-French couple and since mai 2021 a happy family of three. Our family house "Karnes Gaard" is a farm since the 16th century. In 1912, Ingunn's grand father gave part of the land for the Tromsø county to build "Solhov", prestigious boarding school and largest wooden building north of Trondheim. When Ingunn took over the farm in 2009, running it organically felt something obvious. And when Solhov was for sale the next year, a dream became possible : sharing our love for the Lyngen Alps by hosting guests who seek breathtaking surroundings, healthy stay and organic local food, peaceful lifestyle and carbon-free activities. Our dream is to serve as much as possible our organic and local products to these guests. Originally we grow potatoes and strawberries. We are trying several small scale production to see what is possible to grow here up north. At the moment, we are focusing in : - increasing our honeybees park, hives and flowers -...

After an intense house renovation, we are now entering the final phase, focusing on cleaning and refreshing the house. From APRIL (for about one month), we are looking for help with PAINTING work inside and outside, as well as some light gardening tasks such as weeding. This period is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and likes to see visible results at the end of the day. From JUNE onwards, as the weather becomes warmer, the help will mainly consist of daily HOUSEKEEPING tasks (cleaning, ironing), with occasionally some light gardening. We’ve found that this experience works best for people who enjoy staying active and contributing in a practical way to daily life. We truly appreciate volunteers who bring positive energy, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine willingness to help. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our late fifties, we speak French, Dutch, English, and a bit of Spanish. Our home is located in the beautiful r...

Since 2012, hundreds of volunteers from many countries have helped our projects. We are very grateful for their help and many have become our good friends and come back for a second, third or even fourth visit! In 2020 I started a new project in a town in Northern Ireland. The building is a former back-packers hostel which we are gradually turning into campus. that focuses on peacebuilding education. Our aim is "to creatively and sensitively explore the resistances to peacebuilding - knowing that such resistance can resource transformation". Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term. I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. In time, want to transition the farms to more of a communal space. There are three acres of wild blueberries that I am currently converingt to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. I have a small herd of alpacas and an even smaller flock of chickens, whom I allow to free range. We harvest a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is to increase that slowly and steadily every year. For a long-term (and possibly lifetime) stay, I would particularly interested in these 3 individuals: 1. Someone to manage the livestock, including monthly shots for the alpacas 2. Someone to process and market the alpaca fibre 3. Someone to manage the lit...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

As a well-established tourism company, we are diversifying our impacts and create a more resilient business. Doing this is not only fulfilling our long-term mission of developing a self-sustaining Arctic Eco-Village, but also investigating innovative solutions to major obstacles facing communities in the North: food and housing insecurity, decolonizing our economy, capacity development and cultural revitalization. Sustainable farming is not the only focus we have here, but we are continuously developing ideas and trying new farming methods. We are happy to find people from all over the world who are as motivated as we are to make living in the Arctic more sustainable. We live in the beautiful Scottish Borders in the countryside near the small town of Duns, 40 miles south of Edinburgh. You would be staying in a very beautiful county, and after a stay with us you could travel and explore the Scottish Highlands and Islands. This posting is for a very specific type of help, although you do not need to be qualified or even have experience in the matter. Our second son, Finian, who is 21, has down's syndrome.

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start mid-November and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you.

In September we could do with some help for him. We thought that he would be moving away to a residential place but this has not worked out. I, Naomi, would love someone to come and help me for one to two months. You could be male or female, be able to be assertive with Finian if need be but in a gentle and firm manner. Be able to cook sometimes and do some house cleaning and washing. My eldest son, ...
