We run a three bedroom accomodation located in the beautiful historic area of Kerikeri just up from the Stone Store. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. Hi everyone, I'm Eric, and have been helping around the world when I was travelling a few years ago. I've also hosted and travelled with couchsurfing a lot. Today, I'm looking for help with this project, an old farm that was restored by my sister Juliette over the last twenty years (she will be the one answering your message). She now hosts a "bed and breakfast" facility. However the farm was huge, and so much more could be achieved with the support of helpers. From gardening to building fences, digging holes, pruning trees, taking care of animals (poultry) , wood working, etc... there is a lot of stuff to do ! We are living on a 200 hectare farm in Rollands Plains. Located on the mid north coast, surrounded by hills and valleys, great for bushwalking and exploring if that's what you`re into. We are predominantly an arable farm growing a large amount of garlic. Seasonally, we also grow egg plant, rhubarb, ginger, turmeric, pumpkin, yukon, artichoke, cucumber and corn, and whatever else we can put in the ground. All of our grown produce is certified organic. We do not use any sprays or pesticides. We also keep livestock. A herd of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats as well as chickens, ducks and guinea fowl. This is an old country house in need of a handy man to make some small renovating jobs, Help in the house, maintenance 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, flexible on the time table. There are nice mountain tracks to walk. The house is at 14km from Gandia and at 18km from the beach. In exchange for your help I would give accommodation and meals and could try to dteach Spanish or French to beginners. I speak Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, and Valencian. Since its a hobby farm, i take it easy, but still i have a lot going on, and i often don't have time to do everything by myself. This very special and peaceful rural property is located within coastal Karri forest and it's just 6 km from Hamelin Bay - where friendly stingrays swim along a beautiful white sand shallow beach. Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere .
