We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. We have an organic farm at Oldcastle where we host Wwoofers too.There we have lots of different roles from house keeping to vegetable gardening, foraging, admin, cooking, animal husbandry, sewing carpentry building work etc. Tasks vary and very much depend on ability and skill sets At our location in Dunshauglin we are only looking for help with housework cleaning and childcare and sometimes gardening. I live in an old farm and farmhouse in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a holiday cottage with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and one barn into another. I also had a Yurt (now gone but the pictures are still there !!) and a campsite. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. Currently looking for help. We are a friendly, family run horse boarding and lesson facility in the beautiful Shuswap. We have 10 horses, chickens, dogs, sheep, goat and cats. We are within walking distance of fantastic trails to hike or bike and a 10-minute drive to the beautiful Shuswap Lake, Salmon Arm center is also 10 mins away. We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help out with farm chores for a few weeks. You need to have some horse experience. Daily jobs include mucking out stables, handling horses, feeding horses, filling haynets and keeping the barn clean & tidy, also help with a little housekeeping and cooking.
