Hello, I am looking for some help with gardening and house maintenance, preferably someone with a bit of gardening know-how to help control (in a wild way) a medium size garden Also help with dog walking and possibly pet sitting for short periods. Bit of strimming and mowing, and some weeding. Renovation of window frames and painting when weather allows. Trying to grow veg as much as possible, but not easy up here.(lots of rabbits and deer) Indoors --- well could do with a bit of organizing! Also some help with the bigger cleaning jobs, like the vast windows! I am living in the middle of Dartmoor National Park which is a great place for walking and scenery, and one of the last remaining wilderness areas in England. Person with organisational skills and sense of humour and who loves the great outdoors and the quiet would be ideal. One lovely dog and cat in the house, and the occasional guest. Please note, due to financial constraints I cannot accommodate long term helpers , part...

Living in Kyoto, Japan, we are a warm and welcoming family of three who enjoy sharing daily life with people from different cultures. We are looking for a volunteer who would like to join our family. Our hope is for our 6-year-old son to learn English and explore the world through fun, natural conversations and play. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and can be like a big sister to him, caring for him with kindness and respect. He is very energetic and loves to talk. If you enjoy playing Minecraft or Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch, you’ll quickly become good friends with him. We are looking for help with playing with our son and light household tasks. Although I haven’t used this platform since registering, I have hosted many volunteers through another platform. We are still in good contact with them and we maintain positive relationships. We sincerely hope this stay will be relaxing, enjoyable, and a meaningful cultural exchange for ever...

Hi, it's Stephen and Philamae. We have a beautiful rural property in Buckland, Tasmania (45mins NE from Hobart airport). The views are stunning - the accommodation is lovely after its 4 year renovation build has just completed, and we are running it as holiday accommodation! The next adventure will be to turn this into a funky mini-retreat space. The experience of the place - and Tasmania as a whole - is soul stirring. Lots of beautiful animals surround us - sheep, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bunnies and the occasional deer and eagle.. See our Airbnb listing with over 60 photos via our website link: https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/1404048948970319721 Generally we look for HelpXers to help with the gardening, maintenance jobs and housekeeping. Across Nov/Dec/Jan it will be a lot of room cleaning/making up for our Airbnb setup, so in those months we need somebody who cleans to a high standard and ideally likes cleaning & housekeeping! The next specific needs are: a) end February on...

Sheep are sheared so now they have their new winter outfit, they'll stay in the warmth of the barn. Sowe need some volunteers to feed the sheep and make yourself friend sheep while you clean the barn to keep it nice for them. There can be some other extra task Beggi (the farmer) can ask you to do, but still, you'll have free time to enjoy hot spots and swimming pool! You can of course text even if you're available another time of the year ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message (here, on WhatsApp or Instagram caroline.lsgt). You can also message Beggi (the farmer) directly via Facebook (Alexander Flumbri), named after Beggi's cat! Profile picture is of the cat as well (Beggi doesn't have that many hair!)! Where to start? We are a family in the western part of Iceland, at the gates of the Westfjords, Beggi runs the sheep farm. We have more than 500 sheep and all possible troubles that can be connected to she...

I live in a large house in Veyrin, a very very small village, in a very nice countryside in France, 90km East of Lyon, not fare from the Alps. Genève (Switzerland) is 1h30 driving. I'm looking for non-smokers helpers, who could help me 4h/day in my organic vegetable garden or helping me to welcome holidaymakers and pilgrims in my gite. You will have your own bedroom. The common kitchen is to be shared with everybody. The food is vegetarian. I can speak English. If you are sportive we can lend you a bicycle to visit around. The first town is 12km from Veyrin. I have a cat. I don't accept others pets. Please contact me if you want more details. You can also have a look on my website via link below. Looking forward meeting you.

One thing I can advise helpers who want to get a placement with any host is to have at least one PICTURE of YOURSELF. Just as you like to "see" who and where you are coming, hosts like to see who they are opening their home to. It's winter now, so we won't be working outside. I need someone right away to help with small handyman jobs or selling online eg: eBay, marketplace etc. Knowledge of Carpentry and Plumbing are always appreciated. Car mechanics are always helpful. I would really appreciate someone who can do handyman jobs and wants to come for a week or two. I sell things online and on eBay and would love someone who is good at writing descriptions in English. I have a large house and property in a diverse area of Staten Island, New York that I`m always working on. I plant a vegetable garden in the spring using the square foot gardening method. A friend and I rebuilt the whole house on the inside including jacking it up and replacing the foundation, sills and beams so ther...

I am an Irish filmmaker recently relocated to rural France, where I am developing a filmmaking residency and independent creative retreat in a 150-year-old French manor house. The property includes a 20+ room château-style house and two vast barns, which I am in the process of transforming into a fully independent film and arts studio complex. The long-term vision is to host filmmaking residencies, Kino Kabaret events, writers’ retreats, and film-industry masterclasses, alongside screenings, collaborative productions, and summer open-air theatre. This is a hands-on, evolving creative space designed for filmmakers, writers, artists, and curious makers who want to live and work together in a quiet, inspiring setting. The barns are being converted into:a 30-seat cinema / screening room editing suites a recording studio additional artist studios and workshop space Inside the main house, the work is largely restoration: painting and decorating historic salons and bedrooms, laying tile and w...

For an experience in a farm with horses and dogs, if you love nature and are not afraid of hard work! Here you’ll find silence and peace, and also many splendid places to visit. [UPDATE: We don’t have availability for a position in horse care only. But we have availability for a strong person, hard worker, to help outside with the bush clearing, using the brushcutter, driving the tractor to grind the fields, apart from helping a bit with the animals and the handling of horses. Note that we are very busy during the week, and we can't go and check our emails every day. You might have to wait a bit for an answer. Sorry for this.] We live in a sparsely populated area called Berry located in the center of France between Orléans (60km) and Bourges (50km). The closest city is Gien, 27km away. Just west is the county called Sologne, where nature is all around, though we are at only 2 hours from Paris. East is the Sancerre valley. We are looking for handy volunteers or good riders. Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! Watch our YouTube video below, about our community and us, made by the very talented helpxer, Louie Ablett. Three of us live here now, myself 74, David 84 and Sue 64, who started as a WWOOFer and has moved here with the help of a voluntary activity agreement through Centrelink for over 55s'. Sue came in September 2019 , lost th...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Hello there, I'm looking for travellers, nature lovers, people interested in permaculture and a different way of living. I'm Erik, class '88, I live in northern Italy where I've been building a permaculture project for the last few years. I've always been a dreamer, a wanderer seeking adventure and a deeper connection with Nature. After few years of working and travelling the world I decided to start this other journey here 1,5 hours drive from my birth place. As a sensitive person, Healing is a good portion of what drove this life choice into being, as I find it more gentle and sustainable for ourselves and the environment. On a more practical note, the land for now is taken care of for self sufficiency and not as a businness. I can offer food and accomodation in exchange of 3/4 hours of work, 5 days a week.. Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the tim...

Our community is a colorful, international bunch of nice people, with Austrian, Middle Eastern, Polish, and German roots and many international friends from all over the world. Feri (43) and Lise (50) currently live here permanently. The children, Layla (12) and Aisha (10), visit us regularly on weekends and during holidays. Natalia (30) and her two children, Maja (11) and Damian (7), also come by from time to time when they are not traveling in their camper van. Feri's cousins visit us regularly to enjoy time together and prepare delicious oriental food! We also have many other visitors (friends, helpers, and family) from all over the world. We have a big family and a lot of friends who come from all over the world to visit. We sometimes have family events and could use an extra hand getting things ready—whether that's preparing rooms or other bits and pieces. Don't worry, we don't have paying guests; all our visitors are family and friends. We're living the dream here in Lower Austr...

Your own suite with toilet and shower, kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle etc. 25 mins to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. We ask for 5 hours work a day for accommodation and food. My name is Selly and I am the founder of an association. I live in the city of Morogoro in Tanzania, where I was born. I founded this association 4years ago with the aim of promoting access to education for children,Youth and-women in my country and hometown. Unfortunately, although Tanzania has exceptional wildlife and culture, access to education is marked by significant inequalities. Approximately 3.5 million school-age children and adolescents are not enrolled in school, and nearly 30% of children aged 5 to 14 are working, 94% of whom are in the agricultural sector. Additionally, child labor still affects approximately 4.2 million children aged 5 to 17. If you wish to get involved in our project, you are welcome, whether it be for the short or long term. For the past two years, we have regularly welcomed volunteers of all backgrounds to participate in our project, but also to discover our country, its exceptional wildlife and flora, and to exchange ideas about our culture. If ...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

This is a small project in a heritage farm house in beautiful Lower Saxony. We are at the moment three people, two cats and some chickens. We speak German, English, French and Spanish. Our house is in the middle of the village, and we enjoy the contact to the people around us. We've got an idyllic yard and sometimes do parties or small cultural events - this year, we are taking a break though to concentrate on some bigger building projects. Otherwise, we cook together, or just hang out. Most of us are working/studying, so you might spend some time alone around the house - or you can go swimming in our local swimming pool, biking or hiking around the village or visit the World Heritage sites in nearby Hildesheim! Help needed around the year would mainly be renovation/restoration, e.g. plastering, painting, maybe some carpentry (as in improving the chicken coop or, if you feel like it, restoring old furniture), but we are also happy if you help with the house work, the garden, or cookin...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

We breed and raise dwarf goats and chickens and ducks. We are a 162 acre farm, next to the Puketi Forest near Kerikeri. We have hills, streams & ponds and are centrally located for sight seeing. Your own suite with toilet and shower, kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle etc. 25 mins to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. We ask for 5 hours work a day for accommodation and food. We have good and plentiful food here, as I am a chef! Chores focus on the farm, the land, goats, projects, weeding and fence clearing. Also can include planting, landscaping and painting and work on my new pottery studio build-out, and many more, depending on your skills. Also, we have projects to get stuck into, that vary on the time of year. We can collect you from the bus stop or Kerikeri Airport. We usually have other young helpers also.. ** Note: We do Farm Stay also, that is like Air BNB for people who want to get out of the town and experience a NZ farm lifestyle. Thanks Julia

We are a couple with grown up children so we gout space to have up to 5 people stay and work with us at our organic farm. I am a cook and my partner is a teacher and landscape engineer. We work with vegetable production, in greenhouses and outdoor. In the summertime we have tomatoes, egplants, peppers, chillies, beans, mm in our greenhouses and different vegetables in the field. We need help for the farm work, and traditional construction work on different parts of the buildings. We have bicycles here for our guests so you can discover the surroundings. Odense is 17km away and the city of Kerteminde, by the sea, is 5km from our place. We like to have people around from all over the world, not only to get some help, but also to enjoy an cultural and social exchange. Hope to meet you soon Annette & Martin
