French additions to our family include 2 dogs and the chickens. We are active in the local community and there are sometimes events or meals to attend where French is freely spoken. Horses are a big part of our lives. We would like to take on helpers to help and participate with everyday life which is getting harder as we get older! Possible jobs include: helping with the horses and miniature pony as a groom (helping mucking out and poo picking daily, feeding, grooming, fencing) and work in the garden such as weeding, watering and collecting vegetables. We are a small homestead with gardens and animals with a surface of 3.000 square meters. We cultivate fruit (about 25 trees: orange, mandarine, apple, almond, olive, etc), and vegetables. We have a lot of chicken (about 80) as well as a few cats (10) and dogs (3) running around. Other than that we try to produce a few organic products such as tomato sauce, dried tomatoes, and figs and make our own olives. I will have a surgery in mid April and I will be away for about 6weeks. For the time of my absence, I am looking for one or two reliable people who would like to stay with us and offer their support. An organic project in a stunning location, We’re currently completing a rainwater catchment system and doing some renovation projects around the farm. The work is hands-on and varied, and we usually work together for about 4-5 hours a day, 4-5 d days a week. If we’re having fun with a project, we might keep going a bit longer! The weather in winter is usually cool to warm and dry, which makes working outside pretty enjoyable. You’ll stay in a small bedroom with two beds at the farm, or possibly in a house in the nearby village, depending on what’s available. If our rainwater storage runs out, we have to collect our water from the village 3km away, so we’re mindful about water use.
