We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We also have lots of pine trees both for lumber and also for pine nuts. Cork and pine nut trees are a very sustainable resource as their lifespan is over 200 years and they produce cork and pine nuts during that time. We pride ourselves for being an environmentally responsible farm and we enjoy teaching volunteers and visitors about what we do. We are a Forest Stewardship Council certified farm. FSC is a worldwide recognized organization that certifies socially and environmentally respectful organizations like ours, that harbour and follow, strict guidelines for workers, neighbouring populations and the environment. We are audited on a regular basis. From the agricultural antiques you may be cleaning and organizing, to working in the gardens. W...

We are in need of volunteers for our community. We prefer volunteers who are willing to work, teach and show our children and community the good way how to make organic farm in order to save our environment. Teaching other subjects to the children, teach adults English lesson, coach our football club. We're flexible in what you chose to do. In the afternoons volunteers run a program called “English Corner” where they teach English classes to local people, helping adults to improve their English skills. Many strive to learn English in order to have better job opportunities in the future. Free-time activities A trip to Tanzania is the chance to experience life in the heart of Africa. There’s plenty to see and do here during your free time on your project. A project in Tanzania wouldn’t be complete without a safari! This is a chance to see the beautiful wildlife of this country, like elephants, rhinos, and lions. What’s more, Tanzania is home to the highest mountain in Africa, Mount ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Our farm is in the mountains of Lares, a rural region in the center of the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. A town well known for the rebellion insurgency called "El Grito de Lares", also well known for the coffee plantations and the culinary festivities. Lares has great rivers, beautiful sceneries and nice climate. In this great countryside we manage an agricultural, educational and community project, Proyecto Agroecológico Campesino/PAC. Our mission has been to produce food in a sustainable way, facilitate a practical learning farm for students and share knowledge with the community. For this we work in the transformation of two acres, in an integral farm where combines crop production, animal husbandry, resource management, restoration of soil and ecosystems, inspired by the agroecological principles. I am old enough to be your grandfather, loving life and every second left of it, which is probably about ten years.  Debs is my Numero Uno accomplice in this endeavour; basically, we're trying to avoid the old folks home. HelpX can help us do that and travel the world at the same time.  We get to listen to stories of your great adventure and hear about your homeland; maybe even see yr home (Utube and Google walkabouts). Goals of the Ten Year Plan are to create gardens that produce vegetables year round. Make a "groovey space' by the stream. Transform the van into an independent living space. Create a backyard Cricket pitch with netting. Run the HelpX by remote control so we can travel. Ultimately to have some support when we pop our clogs. Have it set up so that the HelpX continues in perpetuity. Although the house is a bit of a disaster (badly needs a paint job and leaks in the bathroom etc etc), the work now is mainly in the garden: germinating, planting, weeding, weed-eater...

Thank you for your interest in our family and project! ;-) The Mitananda H.O.F. is located close to the Slovenian border in Southern Styria amidst vineyards and surrounded by forest and pastures. HELLO AGAIN We have been off helpx for a while as we wanted to sort accomodation separate from the main house and we are nearly there! If you want to get out of the city and check out a small village in New Zealand, then come visit us! WHAT / WHERE: We live in what used to be an old church; now a character-filled house. We are nestled in a rural valley surrounded by sheep and cattle farms and bush. The house and small amount of land we own are a work in progress/labour of love. We also own the local retired bank, another church and the old once-was butcher shop which means there is always plenty to do. WORK: There is no specific skills required, only a positive attitude and a smile. There is all manner of jobs to do such as painting, gardening, woodwork, restoration, farm-like work, community work.... you get the idea. There is no need to be bored and I'm sure we can find a job that suits you. So it will be mainly garden work and you may need to be able to work alone as we have a...

Seven years ago, Tim and I moved to our little farm, and we've been busy ever since; growing a garden, planting trees, and learning how to care for the land. We joined Landcare to better understand the local trees and wildlife, especially the ones that need a bit of extra protection. Tim is a retired engineer and has a knack for designing and building, so he’s been having a great time working on the infrastructure around the property. As for me, I’m a creative arts teacher and public health practitioner. I still teach both online and on campus at an Australian university, balancing my work with farm life. One of my biggest passions here is my rose garden with 400 fragrant bushes, and I'm dreaming of making rose water and rose oil one day. We’ve also got a thriving organic fruit and veggie garden, with plenty of fruit trees and a mix of seasonal vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies, and we’re just a short stroll from the Murray River, perfect for a bit of fishing. I lo...

Kiaora! We are a couple (he =Kiwi, she= Canadian 20yrs+ living in NZ) blessed to live and tend to a beautiful piece of land on the West Coast in Whaingaroa/Raglan. Our place is both remote and central - up a hill away from society but only 8mins to town and 12-15mins to surf beaches. The best of all worlds! We are interested in hosting independent, tidy, motivated helpers for general garden work - pruning, weeding, watering. And have a lovely self contained cottage in which to offer a remote, quiet and beautiful place to stay. Essential that you have your own transport and are feline friendly as we have x2 cute and curious cats likely to visit. We are happy to share occasional meals, conversation and answer questions about this area or NZ surrounds, though our schedules don’t allow for us to provide consistent cooking the cottage has a full fledged kitchen to use. If you’re in need of some quiet immersion with Nz landscape with accessibility to all that Raglan has to offer this may ...

I have a lovely natural building studio space, made of super adobe, that is used as a meditation/healing/sacred temple space, set in a lovely slightly wild permaculture garden, with a bee hive, flowers, veggies etc. The studio would be completely your own private space. I am happy to share some meditation/healing practices with you if you are interested. I would love help in the garden, with weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting and helping to make the garden creative, abundant, fertile and beautiful. Also need help going to the beach to collect seaweed for the garden beds. I would like to provide some meals, and have you be independent for some as well. I really like to meet and be social with helpers , and also to spend a lot of time in meditation and writing. I live in a little rural suburb near a beautiful mangrove area , and I am 40 minutes from wilsons prom, and less to other beautiful areas. A drivers license would be very helpful .

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

Next availability: April 2026 Hi there, I’m Leon. Through COVID, I saw how serious not having food self sufficiency could be, and started to think about agriculture. Currently, I work at a strawberry farm, invested in a vegetable farm, and just got started on a yuzu farm. The average age of farmers in Japan is at 69.2 (as of 2024) and is set to worsen. There is a serious lack of young people choosing to do agriculture. Your help will be truly appreciated by the farmers here. I started my learning journey in agriculture through volunteering, so I want to create similar opportunities for others to learn, and hopefully inspire people to choose agriculture. I will try my best to give you a meaningful experience during your time here! Please let me know if you have any other skills you can contribute! Where is this? Himeji city of Hyogo prefecture. Himeji city has a population of ~500k people, and is considered “inaka” or countryside by many Japanese people. You can get away from the hust...

We invite you to join us on our every day activities to build a sustainable farm and to share knowledge and experiences. The accommodation includes a private room with kitchen, bat...

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Yarrangobilly Caves and nearby thermal pools are about one hour away. Our beautiful site features a serene river, where you can go...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

Kia ora, we are Karina and Mike. After taking a few years off, we are back and ready to host again. We live on our ancestral lands located in Waimate North. Mike is a builder and also specialises in solar power off grid systems. Karina, this is her family ancestral land, she makes herbal soap and skin balms from natural plants. During the summer season, she works in Paihia, and promotes her products to cruise ship passengers. We also specialise in granite headstones and plaques. We like to tidy up our property and keep it beautifully presented. Depending on which month you stay with us, we have an abundant of fruit trees to help yourself. Tasks vary, but would really appreciate your help with giving the homes a fresh coat of paint, weeding, washing windows or spraying. We prefer our helpx to stay with us minimum 7 days to get to know them. Your accomodation is a fully self contained, private bathroom cabin next to the main house. It has a fridge and cook top if you want to...
