Cool little Beach Village near Wellington Kia Ora everyone I’m looking for help next week March 15, with garden projects and a bit of house maintenance. Nice accommodation for two people in your own cottage. Reasonably strong, fit and practical types would be ideal. I’m also looking for help with cat, garden and house care while away from late May until late June. (Pet sitting). It would suit one person (or possibly two), who love cats, as I have five. As well as cat care, it’s day to day house care, which all up takes about 2 hours a day. For the house/cat minding the exchange is accommodation only as I’m away. Need to be reliable and happy to keep to a routine. In mid - late April and May I need help with practical projects - making a fence from rocks and wood and a gate. Planting trees. Clearing a path, finishing off an outdoor bathroom. So someone or two with practical carpentry, landscaping/creative building experience and skills would be ideal. The exchange would be about ...

Welcome to the Urban oasis, I am looking for HelpX helpers to come and stay in my beautiful home in a popular inner city Hamilton suburb. Large, colourful home with lots of space and charmingly decorated. You will have a spacious double bedroom with garden view and an ensuite bathroom for yourself. The house is within an established organic garden using permaculture principles with chickens, a dog called Basil and cat called Cormack. As for myself, I work from home and enjoy gardening, reading and exchanging with people from different path of life. I have been involved in many social causes and appreciate how art can color our life. A large variety of fruit trees, medicinal herbs and vegetables make a lovely environment in which to work and relax.. The house is a short walk to the city, with cinemas, cafes, art galleries and museums and the university. It is close to public transport. Hours can be flexible, an average of 20-25 hours a week depending the type of work done and da...

We are looking for motivated and cheerful people to join us for various projects around our property. During EARLY SPRING (FEBRUARY – MARCH) we mainly need help with PAINTING JOBS, GARDEN PRUNING, HEDGE TRIMMING AND GENERAL CLEANING to prepare the house and garden for the new season. In SPRING & SUMMER (APRIL – AUGUST) we are also looking for people to help with GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING (CLEANING, IRONING) as well as some LIGHT GARDEN WORK SUCH AS WEEDING AND WATERING PLANTS. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our end fifties, we speak several languages: French, Dutch, English and a bit of Spanish. Our region, the LOT-ET-GARONNE, is a beautiful rural area full of history, located between Bordeaux and Toulouse. In summer, it becomes lively and festive with local food markets, concerts and medieval fairs. Our home lies on the edge of a small village, surrounded by 18 hectares of nature along the riverside. We prefer volunteers who can stay AT LEA...

Hello. We are a small Llamas farm, located in the Pyrenees mountains. If you are looking for an original French experience, it could be the right place for you! Here in the high Pyrenees, near the Andorra & Spanish border, we offer you the possibility to live and work in a calm and isolated place, surrounded by high mountains and nothing but pure nature, and good meals "à la française" after our activities among our lamas (about 15 of them). We are a retired French couple, but we used to work and live in foreign countries and continents, which made us interested in people and cultures from all over the world. In the surroundings, there are beautiful places that we would be happy to make you discover, and if you want, we can trek together with Llamas... For your own, you get an entire and cosy apartment (2 bedrooms, 1 or 2 people, single or couple), and join us for generous meals, mostly with local products, that we like to share and appreciate together (so, no vegetarian requir...

Hello Travellers, we are a Belgian couple living in the French Champagne-Ardennes region for 12 years now , a very green and rural environment. We are renovating a 200 year old building for holiday let. Our property is on a terrain of 25 acres with woodland, ponds and streaming waters. We speak several languages (Dutch, French, English en a bit of German) Because our time is mostly used inside, we are looking for help for the work outside. We don't want a park but maintain nature, trimming the edges of the ponds, stream and other outside jobs. Also, some help with the renovation of the building is appreciated (painting, woodwork...), there are various jobs and if you are interested, you can learn a thing or two.. We are ideal located for forest/nature lovers. You can walk for hours in the large forest and we are also directly connected to "les voies vertes" an European cycle route, witch crosses the French county.

We are a friendly household with a bit of a chaotic lifestyle at times but really enjoy meeting people from other countries and are very flexible. We are an older couple who are currently not able to do much maintenance very easily around our property so we really value your help! I am not as mobile as I used to be after serious injuries in a car crash three years ago and I also have polymalgia. My husband has Parkinson's which means he can no longer do any practical work around the home. We greatly appreciate help with general maintenance including gardening, clearing weeds, firewood and household/backyard tasks as well as helping with my husband and two ponies. There is also a very sweet cat Cleo and a garden which is a bit of a jungle at times. Experience in using a weed-eater and a chainsaw would be helpful but not essential. If you like doing jigsaws and play chess that would be great as my husband has limited mobility and enjoys having someone do things with him. We ask for up t...

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station. I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer I have lived here all my life and can introduce you...

Volunteering at this Meditation Centre offers an opportunity to experience first-hand the Buddhist way of life within a vibrant, international community. This place is entirely run by volunteers, our organisation is a not-for-profit registered charity. We are located just south of the English Lake District, situated in 70 acres of woodland and gardens, on the shores of Morecambe Bay. There are many ways in which you can help. For example, serving in the cafe, working in the art studio, helping to prepare guest rooms, cooking, gardening or joining a renovation project and we are always interested to hear about any specific skills you may be able to offer. Take this opportunity to be part of a diverse international community of Buddhist practitioners and volunteers, make lasting connections, and enjoy a meaningful break. Typically you will volunteer Monday to Friday but depending on the activity, it may also include weekends. Whilst these activities are not always strenuous you will...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Hi, I’m Jo. I live in beautiful Coromandel town where I’ve created a small urban food forest based on permaculture principles. It’s a constantly evolving space full of fruit trees, edible plants and wildlife, and I enjoy sharing it with people who are interested in gardening, nature and simple living. I’m looking for 1 or possibly 2 to stay for a few days at a time (usually 3–5 days) and lend a hand with a mix of garden and household tasks. This might include food forest maintenance, light gardening, helping keep the space tidy, window cleaning or general housework. Nothing too heavy — just practical help to keep things running smoothly. You’ll be staying in my small, relaxed home and will have your own bedroom with a king single bed ( or if 2 come I will swap rooms and you would have a queen size bed). We share the bathroom and living areas. My home is right in Coromandel town, within easy walking distance to the shops, cafés and harbour, and only a few minutes’ drive to some beaut...

Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. Hello, my partner John & I, have had a wonderful time sharing our home with volunteers. We now have a vacancy, short or longer stays are welcome. We live as a family & enjoy many things together, with our volunteers, many of whom have become lasting friends. We live in a 4 bed modern dormer bungalow, in a beautiful village, with a shop & bus stop 3 minutes walk from the house. We live with my father, who is 89 years old and has moderate memory loss. My father is calm & relaxed. My father does like to have volunteers there, to watch television with him, so that he’s not alone & he enjoys helping volunteers improve their English pronunciation. Volunteers are also welcome to work on their laptops, while sitting with my father, he’s used to that & still enjoys their company, I also need help with keeping the house clean & simple vegetarian cooking. We enjoy sharing simple, international food with our volunteers & have plenty of vegetarian cooking books, for ideas. We hav...

We are a family of four living on a lifestyle block in the beautiful Wairarapa, with the entrance to the Tararua Forest park just up the road. There you will find some great tramping, walking, mountain biking and a cool swing bridge across the river and a great swimming hole during summer. On our block we have a small herd of cattle, some sheep and a pony along side many birds living in the local landscape. We are presently looking for helpers for painting and pony care and always need help with firewood, gardening, riparian planting and general help for an average of four hours a day in exchange for food and accommodation. The accommodation best suits a couple. We are 15 mins drive from Greytown and Carterton. Non-smokers only please. Please let us know if you have any special food requirements or allergies which might need to be considered during your stay.

Hello there, I'm looking for travellers, nature lovers, people interested in permaculture and a different way of living. I'm Erik, class '88, I live in northern Italy where I've been building a permaculture project for the last few years. I've always been a dreamer, a wanderer seeking adventure and a deeper connection with Nature. After few years of working and travelling the world I decided to start this other journey here 1,5 hours drive from my birth place. As a sensitive person, Healing is a good portion of what drove this life choice into being, as I find it more gentle and sustainable for ourselves and the environment. On a more practical note, the land for now is taken care of for self sufficiency and not as a businness. I can offer food and accomodation in exchange of 3/4 hours of work, 5 days a week.. Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the tim...

Hi, I am a 49 year old mum with my daughter (20) at home. We are looking for short term guests (1 week, negotiable after the first week) who require a place to stop over whilst travelling. We have 1 queen size bedroom available and look forward to meeting people from all around the world. Although we don’t have any pets, after the loss of our beautiful Rottweiler, we also do dog sitting occasionally, so must not be allergic to dogs and be ok with all breeds being around when we look after them. You must be able to speak English, as we only speak English and the language barrier is awkward and hard to really get to know you :) We are generally looking for people to help out with all aspects of housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, small landscaping jobs, general tree maintenance, general outside home maintenance, pool cleaning and maybe some painting. 3-4 hours of work a day will be required, which must be completed in the mornings. Smoking is permitted outside only, no additional guests ...

We are currently looking for a calm, responsible and self organised person or couple to help care for the farm. Hi there, I live on a small property close to town, with a stream, subtropicals and some veg and flower gardens. I also run tourist accommodation that is self contained, but always requires work, some cleaning and gardening. I work as an artist, making pots, felting and dyeing. The house is new so there is lots of work to do establishing the garden and generally getting sorted. I would like help with all or any of these things. I particularly value people who love gardening and being outside. One person is ideal for me.I have a small single bedroom for helpers, and the house is pretty open so I take only women. 4

Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (2yrs). We are looking for 1 people to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components. I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 3-5 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest hourly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for 4-5 ho...

I live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that is also home to one horse (Meg), two small inside dogs (Alfie and Lacey), a cat (Sylvie) and some free-range hens who happily provide eggs for our breakfast. I can offer short stays of approximately ONE WEEK only, for a single helper or a couple.

Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

We hav...

I am a single parent with 2 grown adults and a young lady in university. I run a small party decorating business and have a small general home and hardware store. Due to other duties that needs to be done in the shop For now, we are looking for someone to help do some painting around the house and outside, keep garden clean and tidy, cut shrubs and hedges The kind of person i am looking for must be very neat and clean as well as very reliable and respectful. Someone who is not lazy and is very good at keeping their environment tidy and happy to do some cooking, cleaning, ironing and gardening. Personal hygiene is of utmost importance in our home and must be adhered to.

Depending on the day/weather we would work for 4-5 ho...

Hello Helpers! Mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, a good work ethic and a good understanding of the English language are preferred. None of the jobs are difficult but you do need to be reasonably FIT and you need to be able to work independently. Non-smokers/non-vapers only please. I've had some amazing helpx helpers that have helped establish the kitchen gardens and some help is now needed on general gardens and landscaping. Depending on the time of the year, some of the tasks you may be asked to help with are: planting trees/shrubs, weeding and mulching garden beds, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/w...

Thanks to all the people who have contacted us recently, We are now looking for some help again over the next couple of months. One of the main jobs will be to remove the non native wattle trees from the bush portion of our block. This involves pulling the smaller ones out by the roots and chopping down bigger ones. As well as our Orchard and Garden work we are looking for some HelpX that have any general building or carpentry skills a nice bonus but not essential. Would like people who are familiar with chain saw, brush cutter etc. it is an ongoing task to control leaves, maintain firebreaks and clear dead timber. As well as some mulching and weeding of the vegetable garden. Other ongoing project in various stages that need some skills such as carpentry etc. The accomodation is a private bedroom for 2 ...
