We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown garden. In addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Maryborough is only 30 minutes away from Hervey Bay with beautiful beaches overlooking Frazer Island. Maryborough is a beautiful old heritage town with a lot of old buildings and parks all around. We're just a few metres away from the Mary River, at a quite place and only 1.5 km from town. There'...

After selling our farm we have moved to a beautiful 40 acre block on the boundary of Mount Aspiring National Park. Makarora is a small settlement, 60km north of Wanaka, on the way to Haast and the West Coast. Helper tasks include help maintaining the surrounding native bush, care of the chooks, ducks, dogs and house cows. I need a Helper to be motivated, willing to take a turn with the cooking and other household chores. There is a perfect opportunity for a competent and trustworthy Helper to look after things when I am away for a few days every now and then. Own vehicle a definite advantage. Stunning mountain and bush scenery, plenty of places to explore, including nearby Lakes Hawea and Wanaka. Blue Pools only 8km away. ps if you are a critical thinker / freedom person, please feel free to mention this in your application. It is very refreshing to share my days with like minded folk, especially if you are part of the spiritual awakening in addition to being awake to the global ag...

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

We run a three bedroom accomodation located in the beautiful historic area of Kerikeri just up from the Stone Store. We are looking for preferably a single person (ranking as mature) interested in staying at the lodge and taking care of the general running of things (around 2-4 hours per day , negotiable) This is very relaxed and mostly entails greeting guests in the afternoons and showing them to their rooms (only when we have bookings), cleaning rooms if the cleaner is away, taking bookings as well as some general property maintenance. You will stay in a separate part of the lodge with full kitchen, private room and bathroom. I am generally around the lodge most days but leave in the evenings as I live with my partner out of Kerikeri. So we work as a team. This means you will likely be taking care of yourself in the evenings, so being able to cook is important. (Potentially not as social at it has been in the past when my son and his partner were living there full time) . We inc...

My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We are Craig, Violaine and Max, 5, we also have 3 cats Arti, Pearl and Russell, a big dog Tilly, and ducks, chickens, too many to name them all. Our touristic lodge, where we live, is situated at the bottom of the South Island, with privates rooms, shared bathrooms and some camp sites, catering to mostly hikers but its open to anyone. Closed the winter season, we are still busy doing renovations, preparing the gardens or traveling. Trying to be eco-friendly, semi self sufficient, means that we do a lot of gardening in a hands on spray free way (essentially organics, but that is a licensed word), growing our own food for meals, seed raising, planting, picking, preserving the excess to sell or use, there is always something to do and they can change from month to month with the seasons.. Craig is a chef and barista and cooks breakfasts and dinners for guests, if they book meals, we try to cook everything from scratch, making the bread, compote, make jams, etc. If you are interested in fo...

Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. Now the winter of our discontent is ending, transformed into a glorious spring by this Galician sun; and ....sometimes, the clouds that darkened our home disappear into the deep heart of the flat lands.... So it's time to get to work in the garden and lay cement in some places. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 6 domestic geese, chickens, dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, plant...

We have a basic but lovely country home located by the Rangitikei River. We are about 25 minutes from the nearest shop in Hunterville as well as our local pub which is located about 10 minutes away. My husband and I have a 3 year old son Joseph and a 1 year old baby Makayla. We do our best to live off the meat that we hunt and the vegetables we grow. I'm looking for someone to help out with our veggie garden and with general work around the house or with projects that I might be doing at the time of your stay. Our wood shed is currently in need of some repairs so if you are someone that is interested or has experience in building or repairs then you would be a great fit however if this job wouldn't suit you then there's plenty of other chores to do. You'd be looking at around 4 hours of help per day in exchange for food and accommodation. We live on my husband's parents Deer, Sheep and Beef farm. We have 2 pet dogs and a few working dogs as well as some very friendly pet sheep. Che...

We are a couple from Austria and we live since january 2014 in the middle of the Swedish nature together with around 25 Alaskan Huskies. Our farm is in the middle of now-where at the beginning of Swedish Lapland and you can expect a lot of nature, lakes, woods and a lot of wild animals like bears, lynx, moose, reindeers and many different kind of birds. You can help us with training and feeding the dogs, cleaning the kennels. In wintertime there is also help needed with snow shoveling. You should be able to speak English (B2) or German. You should also be able to work sometimes alone. There is plenty of spare time, to explore the nature and the surrounding. You should be at least 18 years old, a teamplayer, love to be outside, it is not necessary that you have knowledge about dogs or in special about sleddogs. You will get all the information from us. What we offer is accommodation in a cabin with bathroom and toilet. And you will get groceries which you can cook for yourself. Yo...

We are looking for an individual or couple to help out to help out have a 8 year old son so we will ask for references etc as his safety is key. Lots of chores around the farm (but not a real working farm) and with the horses. We would also love a builder or carpenter but none of these things are a must. A couple or family would be welcome and kids for Samuel to play with would be great we would be happy to be even more flexible for a longer term stay. Previous long term helpers have used us as a base to go off and explore Europe and come back in between to work for a bit and save some money. Most reviews are from Devon but in 2014 23 inherited a falling down farm house with 73 acres in mid wales near Shropshire border. We have moved all our animals up and desperately need help especially anyone with building gardening and general land clearing skills as well as people with good horse knowledge. Hello friends, we are Sadí and Jacqi a couple from Perú and Germany. We live here with our little daughter Sami and Sadis brother Leo who has joined our project about a year ago. After several years of traveling, volunteering, helping out and learning in many beautiful projects & communities, we have settled down in the rainforest of Perú and are now happy to be able to receive volunteers ourselves :) About 3 three years ago, we bought this piece of land which includes about 56 hectares, in the region of Ucayali The area has suffered a lot from deforestation by the coca leaf production and cattle industry which left the soil very depleted due to the intense use of chemicals. the forests need our support (cutting vines preventing trees from growing, opening up the water ways of the rivers that are blocked by wood, vines and much more...) to be able to recover strongly and healthily. Our vision for this place is to help the local ecosystem to recover its natural balance, establish ...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane.

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats and fowl. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times. We hope that during your stay with us you are willing and able to work as hard as ourselves, it could be tough at times, but you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job. You should enjoy being active from morning till evening and not be coun...

We inc...

Opening early January: We offer a private self contained accommodation above the Gallery with lounge/kitchenette, double bedroom in exchange for house & garden maintenance in the Veggie gardens, and assisting our head gardener as well. The kitchenette is suitable for light meal preparations. You provide your own food. No pets. We run a Gallery venue & destination for international visitors to the island. With a busy working studio schedule here we are looking for independent, organised helpers. We are looking for ‘Experienced and Keen’ gardeners. Up to /14 hrs a week. Our Market Gardens are now in full swing, so weeding & assisting to general tasks like washing windows, stacking wood, sweeping as well as hedge and weed trimming occasionally. Sometimes, due to the nature of the tasks, physical fitness and some experience would be advantageous. Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. Your Role & Contribution While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I need help with tasks that offset my paralysis, including: - Household Tasks – Light cleaning, keeping the kitchen tidy, and helping with laundry. - Personal Assistance – Bringing me food, water, and other necessities I can’t manage on my own. - Driving & Companionship – Taking...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees.

The house is very old and listed and falling down (with trees growing through the roo...
