We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years, we enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this ti...

Welcome! Our family owned and operated certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is excited to have you stay and become a part of everything we have going on. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, 2 guard alpacas and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! Aside from livestock, we have recently built a small farm store / café that cooks the meat raised on the farm. We also take pride in creating all recipes from scratch, from the sauces to the buns of the burgers. Currently only operating during the summer months, 3 days per week. It’s been a lot of work, but a great way to get more people out to the farm, eating good food and connecting with the community...

Hi, welcome to NZ, and hopefully to Kōpuaranga, Masterton! We are located just a 1.5 hour drive north of Wellington off State Highway 2. Masterton is central to a lot of walks, mountains rivers and coastline and some beach/ surf communities too. We also have a beach house that we sometimes do work on as well. Our home is a kilometre from any other house, so a rural experience, views and usually a great night sky are guaranteed - yet still only a ten minute drive to our service town of Masterton which has rail links to Wellington. An easy pick up or drop off if you do not have your own vehicle. We have a river boundary with trout and eels, and it is great for a speedy dip on the hot days before the nature gets too curious! We have now been on this property a year and so much has been achieved with HelpX travel friends, but we are only half way through... Outside we are building pens, raising chickens and sheep, adding some more raised beds and laying out a productive garden with s...

I would be very happy to welcome volunteer teachers who are willing to help at my school for two or three months, or even for a full semester. *I want the volunteers who work at my school to not feel like they are working. Instead, I want them to feel that they are enjoying themselves and having a holiday while staying with us. Their room is fully equipped with air conditioning, hot showers, and a spacious private room that is separate from the main house, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.* My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities ...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1B9REPhgY6/ Hi, This is a small farm property (sheep, a cat and orchard) just of state highway 2 within walking distance of Morere hot springs reserve and about 20 minutes drive to the beaches of the mahia peninsula. The bus between wellington and Gisborne stops here twice a day walking distance from Possum bend. Helpers work about 4 hours a day.At the moment, I have some gardening and housework to do. Also, if you like cooking, i enjoy trying new recipes/meals etc (This is not a commercial property so, generally, surfing takes priority over working if the surf is good). I prefer easy going people with a good sense of humour who are adventurous. I especially enjoy meeting people who have traveled or come from places I have not visited and hearing about their experiences. Morere is a quiet spot, especially in winter, so if you are a city person it won't be suitable for you. I also have a neighbour, Amber, with a property very similar to mine ( actu...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the end of June as we are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. LOOKING FOR HELP IN JUNE. In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is help with this work I require.. Therefore most of the work is outdoor, constantly varied, not difficult, with some indoors work on occasions. The farm is sit...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

Hello. We are a small Llamas farm, located in the Pyrenees mountains. If you are looking for an original French experience, it could be the right place for you! Here in the high Pyrenees, near the Andorra & Spanish border, we offer you the possibility to live and work in a calm and isolated place, surrounded by high mountains and nothing but pure nature, and good meals "à la française" after our activities among our lamas (about 15 of them). We are a retired French couple, but we used to work and live in foreign countries and continents, which made us interested in people and cultures from all over the world. In the surroundings, there are beautiful places that we would be happy to make you discover, and if you want, we can trek together with Llamas... For your own, you get an entire and cosy apartment (2 bedrooms, 1 or 2 people, single or couple), and join us for generous meals, mostly with local products, that we like to share and appreciate together (so, no vegetarian requir...

I need help keeping the house clean and gardening etc outside, if this sounds like you, I'd be happy to hear from you. Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland and to a quiet vegetarian smallholding working towards self sufficiency (I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder!) I’m Kris, I have enjoyed hosting like-minded people from around the world for many years now. Friendships have been formed and from the comments of guests, it's been an enriching experience for me and those who have stayed. It is a lovely environment here, but I would say it is suited to a certain kind of person, so to make sure it’s right for you, please read my description, then let me know if it appeals to you, and why, thanks! (I reply to all personal messages!) The land is around two acres (1 hectare). A small amount is used for vegetable garden, I have also planted hundreds of trees, some of which I am now cutting for firewood to be more energy self sufficient. The woodland attracts a lot of wildlife and in the right weather, it is a joy just to sit and listen to the birds! The house is almost 200 years old, and I h...

Version française plus bas. __________________________________ Hello! We moved from Germany four years ago to the beautiful Gaspé-coast. We’re located 5km from the sea and we live midst a community of young people. Who’s “we”? Well, it’s Catherine (33 years old), Olaf (43 years old), Mathis (3 years) and Artemis, our cat. We're currently awaiting a second child that should be born this summer. We try to be as self-sufficient as possible on the food and work in our garden to make it a little bigger each year. We grow organic (not certified) vegetables of all kinds, berries, medicinal herbs, perennials and more. We also have a wood lot close by. We try to make our own seeds as much as possible and start our own seedlings in spring for the garden and the greenhouse. We also transform our harvest by drying, fermenting, canning, making juice etc. Of course there is always things to do around the house and inside, too. So there is always some extra hands needed. Our handcraft-projects incl...

Hello Helpers! We love to meet people from around the world and share our little slice of life. We provide housing and meals in exchange for 25 hours of help per week and can be flexible with scheduling to make sure you have time to explore beautiful Taranaki. We'd prefer to host someone who can stay for at least two weeks (or longer - we have availability until the end of September). A LITTLE ABOUT US In 2020, we moved from the United States to New Plymouth sight unseen and loved it so much we decided to stay. Tyson is a doctor at the local hospital, and Lis just returned to her career after taking time off to care for our two young daughters, ages 5.5 and 2.5. We love hiking, traveling, reading, good food, game nights, and spending time with the people we love. OUR SPACE Our home is located in a quiet neighbourhood that borders a nature reserve with several nice walking paths. We're a 5-minute drive to New Plymouth’s CBD, or a 20-minute bus ride. We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

If you are also a wwoofer you can find us at wwoof.nz A lovely life sentence block 7km inland from Waiwera where once were the famous Waiwera hot pools until some Russian bastard ruined them. We have two hundred olive trees requiring maintenance, and lots, 25, fruit trees and a garden including food around the house. Adapting to climate change is quite challenging and continuous. It is a nice place to stay. But that should not be your reason to want to come. It is much more enjoyable for a couple who can work together and enjoy the experience and the environment. After nearly twenty months of continuous rain,(it has stopped now) everything is a bit in need of a catch up. You wouldn't believe the weed growth! The damage caused by rotting roots of most of our fruit trees is extraordinary. It all looks very sad. So a lot of remedial work is needed. Mostly spraying and pruning. Here is a quick guide of what we will be doing: Anytime; Adding mulch around all (200) of the trees. January; A...

Currently, we are NOT looking for helpers for summer 2026. If you're looking for a quiet escape from the city with a magnificent view, fresh air, delicious food, well travelled hosts and a chance to go to some of the best Black Sea beaches occasionally, then do not hesitate to contact us! We are Marina & Rado, siblings; Rado has a 7 years old son; our mom Vania stays on the property quite often. There are currently two rescue dogs on the property - Rita and Dora. Rita belongs to a lady that lives in the city, she was saved from the streets and we decided to help with the space needed. Dora was abandoned in the village and our neighbour rescued her. Sometimes, we accommodate temporarily a third dog until a better home is found. We have officially 3 cats - Heri, Stancho & Zorka. Additionally, there are 15-20 feral cats that roam around and we take care of them together with our neighbours. Unfortunately, a lot of cat owners are irresponsible and leave their pets behind so you could t...

Located on headlands of the Oregon coast, north of the Coquille River in Coos County, we are a learning environment where land based life skills anchor science, literacy, inquiry, and art. We are licensed school teachers, work in the schools and offer educational and technical services to generate income. We try for a way of living that honors the rhythms of nature and the dignity of meaningful work. Our aim is to develop a home where responsibility, creativity, and stewardship guide action. By reusing what we have, conserving what we need, and growing our food, we nurture a lifestyle that learns from the land and contributes to its renewal. In doing so, we hope to find a balance between comfort, health, and our use of products and resources. You are a guest here and we usually have dinner and lunch together. You will have a private room but use the family kitchen and bathroom. The big project this year is building an 8 feet by 24 feet greenhouse using recycled windows and glass. Be...

- Space available from 8th July - 25th July and from 30th July onwards. **Please note that we ask that all enquiries include a proposed arrival and departure date, we also usually arrange a quick video call to confirm volunteers have sufficient English to communicate with other staff and customers** We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery and gin distillery in a small village beside the sea in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. West Coast Canada Experience Purpose built oceanfront B&B with 3 private self-contained studio suites on the 2nd floor of our home which is on the first floor. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, biking & hiking at our waterfront B&B. You'll have your own private room. If you have a valid drivers license, and are staying for at least 2 months you may use one of our cars. This requires a discussion, and is on a case by case basis. Cleaning rooms to our 5 star standard is the primary work. Limited gardening, yard work, helping around the B&B with all aspects of running a home-based business. Must be physically fit to do this. Crewing on our boat is optional if you like it - not everyone is comfortable being on the ocean. Here is what a typical summer day looks like: About 1/4 of our guests purchase breakfast.

I especially enjoy meeting people who have traveled or come from places I have not visited and hearing about their experiences.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees.

Be...
