This is a small project in a heritage farm house in beautiful Lower Saxony. We are at the moment three people, two cats and some chickens. We speak German, English, French and Spanish. We are a small-scale, organic vegetable farm in Palmer, Alaska. We grow an array of beautiful produce which includes carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, brussel sprouts, romanesco, broccoli, potatoes, rhubarb, onions, beets, and many more. All of the vegetables we sell at local farmers markets are grown by us and are free of pesticides, GMOs, and chemicals. We not only believe that people should feel connected to their food, but we also feel that it should be delicious, healthy, and accessible. Work on the farm varies by season. In the Spring we spend our time prepping the field, sewing seeds, growing transplants, cultivating those seeds in the field, weeding, and watering. Our woodland croft is situated on the Isle of Mull. We are off grid and are in the early stages of developing our croft. We have three focuses: creating and maintaining the woodland, willow basketry and a market garden. We are currently developing the market garden to start producing in June 2026. The croft is a former forestry site with lots of stumps from trees felled. We have built a small greenhouse/propagating shed and are halfway in putting our polytunnels up. We need a kind and fit person to start who would be happy to do all the jobs needed to keep our dogs healthy and happy. This includes a LOT of housekeeping, cleaning, feeding, laundry and dog washing. Your accommodation: you would share a modern two-bedroom home with our other helper (currently that’s Jordan from Germany). You would of course have dogs or cats sleeping on your bed too! I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. We live in the inner west suburb of Petersham in Sydney, close to public transport. We enjoy meeting travellers from around the world and also enjoy the help with cleaning, dog walking, sorting, painting & gardening. We offer a bedroom with queen bed and good food for 20 hours work a week, which can be done flexibly. And it’s fine if you want to work less hours & organise your own food. If you’re heading north, we have a place 20 minutes north-west of Taree where we’d like help with cleaning, painting, gardening etc but you’d need a car to get there. We are a family of two - a mum (46), and a teenage boy(16). Yes that is an old photo! We live very close to central Nelson - a short walk to the town center, bush walks and the river. A perfect location from which to explore Nelson city We would like to offer accommodation ONLY in exchange for two hours of work per day. We prefer short stays, usually 2-4 days but we are open to longer stays. We have had some lovely helpers in the past and enjoyed the experience very much. We are both quiet and social. The type of work that needs doing is general gardening, yard clearing, and light house work.
