My wife Dana and I Oliver live with our 3 of our 4 kids, Lea(13), Ronja(7) and Alva(5), on an old farm, that we have bought in 2020, in a small village at the edge of the wester forest 25km outside Bonn. When we bought the farm it was in a rather poor condition and it took us about 2 years to renovate the house using alternative building materials as wood wool or clay as much as possible. The house we have more or less finished but the rest of the farm still needs same attention. The idea is to create a place where human can live in harmony with and from nature. Currently we have about 40 Galloway’s, 5 horses, 6 sheep, 1 dog, 3 cats, a docent chicken, 2 bee colonies and a small vegetable garden. We hope one day we will produce egnough so that the farm feeds us and the people living with us but to get there it is still a long way. When I was younger I travelled a lot. The biggest trip was a two years motorbike tour from Germany to New Zealand. But also spend some time in Africa as wel...

I am a single parent with 2 grown adults and a young lady in university. I run a small party decorating business and have a small general home and hardware store. The wedding business is very interesting and demanding, hence why I'm looking for help at home. Due to other duties that needs to be done in the shop For now, we are looking for someone to help keep garden clean and tidy, cut shrubs and hedges and some general domestics around the house The kind of person i am looking for must be very neat and clean as well as very reliable and respectful. Someone who is not lazy and is very good at keeping their environment tidy and happy to do some cooking, cleaning, ironing and gardening. Personal hygiene is of utmost importance in our home and must be adhered to. If you want to experience venue décors for occasions (then you are free to come to venues with me, but not mandatory) i am very flexible with time as some days can be quiet, during this time, you can tour the local areas of i...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surroundin...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

* January - April 2026. Bed and Breakfast - Bio/Organic Vineyard. Dave & Brandy (my dog). Vineyard & Small Bed & Breakfast with two (2) rooms for guests. * Help always needed also at the Swiss Tattoo Museum. Dave loves to cook and the BnB thrives on his cooking skills, website reviews and best of all word of mouth! Also known as "Dave Cuvee" to guests and social friends, creating quality, delicious meals with love and passion is my destination. Most helpers leave here with extra kg, I am not talking about extra carry luggage ;-) Brandy is a female Hungarian Vizsla born October 2013. She is in training to search for truffles in the local forests. Brandy is a middle size dog weighing ca. 19kg and is very active. She is very intelligent, playful and uber friendly to everyone she has contact with. Brandy is being trained and fed by Dave, but she requires walks and exercise when Dave is at work. You should be a very dog friendly person. Dave speaks fluent English and Swiss German (...

Hello! I am looking for enthusiastic helpers for a week of outdoor work. The tasks will vary and will include building, gardening, permaculture, lawn mowing, and stacking wood, depending on your skill level and eagerness to learn. We have two rooms available one with a queen bed and the other with a single bed available, which will suit either a couple or a single helper. It’s important that you can understand English well for your safety. At the moment, we have several animals on the property: 9 cows of mixed ages, sheep, laying chickens (chooks), 2 friendly large dogs, 1 cat, and 5 turtles. Our animals live a stress-free life and are not afraid of people. If you feel nervous around animals, I will likely keep you away from them until you feel comfortable. Please do not take offense; these animals are a part of our home, and I am sure you will still enjoy your time with us. Here are some tasks we would appreciate help with: carpentry/handyman work, greenhouse work, painting, ga...

We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. Hello. I’m Paolo, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I appreciate a baggage of life experience that is not too small, so volunteers in their mid to late twenties at least and in t...

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

My Welsh husband and me are running a Guesthouse with restaurant in the beautiful nature reserve called "Gletscherkessel Präg". We are located in the southern Black Forest near the Swiss and French border. Here you can enjoy beautiful views and long walks in the forest. Surrounded by forest but not to far from Freiburg or Basel, our Guesthouse and Restaurant is a beloved place by locals and tourists. Our small team is always grateful for some help, as we have a lot of Projects and nature around the house. So if you like to help us with one of our projects or simply just join us for a couple of hours a day during our daily tasks, we appreciate any kind of help, that will improve this beautiful place. Here we become gardeners, animal-carers, children-carers, cooks, artists, wood choppers, builders, creative and exchanging people, raising our spiritual understanding of the world and becoming change makers in a growing community. Included are all advanced methods of biodynamic and permaculture farming. Hello, thank you for looking at our listing. After a little break from hosting we're looking for helpers for April - October 2026. We are Cathy (47) and Leo (who is 14 years old.) We live in a lovely, but messy little cottage in a very beautiful glen. We are semi-off-grid and at the moment there's several issues with the plumbing so please do not apply if you need a daily hot shower! We like to have several helpers so friends are welcome to apply, alternatively we are happy to take single travellers - but please be aware you may need to share a sleeping area with other helpers (who we will ensure are the same sex and similar age to you.) The accommodation is extremely basic, the house is in disarray and I currently resemble a headless chicken for much of the day! Only apply if you are comfortable with untidiness and disorder. However, despite this you will have fun, be well fed and happy. The gardens and surrounding countryside are beautiful and peaceful, so escaping the crazines...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Hi My name is Paul. I am 59 years old and live on my own in a 4 bedroom house I built on my own 20 years ago. The house is on a half-acre property located in a small village community on the outskirts of Brisbane, close to large areas of forest. For more than 10 years I have been hosting couch surfers and decided to try helpx as it seems many people are interested in helping in exchange for staying longer. My place is not a farm, however I have a forested backyard. The land is steep with a lot of weeds growing. I have been undertaking bush regeneration, knocking back the weeds and planting trees. The bush attracts a variety of wildlife, including wallabies, echidna, bandicoots, scrub turkeys and a lot of different bird species. Help required may include, building paths, planting trees, watering trees and controlling weeds, depending on what guests are capable of and what they prefer to do. I think 3 or 4 hours work a day is enough.for people staying. My place is quiet and relaxed....

We are a couple in a neighborhood in the north-east area of Seattle, Washington. We are interested in hosting a person or two who could help with some yard work, maybe deep cleaning the kitchen, general house projects, painting walls, etc. Short term stays are best for us (around a week, plus or minus). We ask for 3 hours of help per day (except for arrival and departure days). It's OK to work longer days and then take days off - we are flexible. You have your own bedroom & your own bathroom to use on the lower level of our home. We have two "kids", 23 and 25, all grown and moved away. The photo posted is really old! We enjoy meeting people from other cultures! Our home is near a bus line - 30 minutes to the city center. Walking distance to library, shops and cafes. You are welcome to borrow a bicycle to explore (be prepared for hills!). We like helpers who are friendly and easy going. All of our helpers so far have found a good balance between engaging with us and g...

Accommodation is in the “blueberry cottage,' a self-contained flat that is across the lawn from our house. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining room, computer and wifi. I stock the kitchen with good ingredients and between those and the orchard goodies you assemble your own breakfast. We start at 830 and work for four hours. I make a big lunch at the house for everyone (lots of home made bread and cakes) and the afternoons/evenings are your own. I'll keep the larder stocked with whatever food you like, we don't eat much meat but can supply it. We have bikes for your use and are surrounded by wineries, or there's always a shady tree to nap under. Warning we do have insects, and in the summer picking time can't take helpers who are colourblind. For ease of booking we'd prefer if you can plan on coming and going on Mondays, one week minimum stay. We are a ten minute walk from the bus stop. Here's a little video on us, bit dated now but it'll give you the idea https://ww...

We are a small, dedicated group of volunteers building an open community of higher learning where art, aesthetics, movement, and deep conversations are as important as academic content. Our castle in the Ardennes is an oasis of free speech—a place where students, volunteers, and academics can challenge each other to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Why Volunteer With Us? Since opening our doors in September 2024, we’ve been shaping Academia Libera Mentis into a thriving environment for education and self-discovery. To ensure we can welcome 40 students in the fall of 2026, we’re continuing our renovations and creative projects, and we’d love your help!

You’ll be surrounded by plants, nature, and good company 🌿. The tasks are light and relaxed. You’ll also learn practical gardening tips and horticultural knowledge in a cozy, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal place for volunteers who enjoy peaceful living, meaningful conversations, and a warm home atmosphere. I am a well organized and responsible person.

Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....
