Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run appliances. I am not on a farm, it is a residential block in Ipswich. My house is small and cluttered and surrounded by trees. I need help to clean my home as I am always busy doing other things or visiting my son interstate and the work is too much for me on my own. I haven't had a helper since last September so the place needs lots of cleaning. You have access to the kitchen and bathroom upstairs. There are a few outdoor sp...

We have a riverside property 10 minutes from the seaside town of Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula, 2.5 hours drive from Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga. In the last 5 years we have been establishing a 4 HA orchard, planting avocado and olive trees and we have work available pruning and looking after the young trees, and with harvest, fruit packing and other seasonal orchard tasks. In addition we are establishing 13 ha of native forest, in the adjoining hills and riverside areas. The Ounuora River (Mill Creek) passes through the property and we have a conservation program for its environs supported by Waikato Regional Council. The native plant establishment work includes nursery work growing and caring for young plants, planting and weed and pest control. We have a newly refurbished, self contained cottage on the property available for self contained accomodation. It has 1 bedroom/lounge/kitchenette suitable for a single person or a couple, and a separate bathroom with a shelte...

*Available from early July. Minimum one month stay. Thanks! * We're a Kiwi family of four (an economist/researcher, a social worker/therapist and two primary/intermediate school aged children). We spent 2020 in France and we're looking for someone who can help the girls maintain their language skills and share knowledge of French culture. Failing that, I have spent a few years in Japan and would love to pass on knowledge of the language and culture to the kids as well, so a Japanese person would also be good. We're looking for someone who can meet the kids at school four days a week and keep an eye on them till we finish work (roughly 3pm-6pm) during term, or some longer days during the holidays. They're nice kids and reasonably well-behaved (most of the time). Offering accommodation and evening meals, especially if you're keen to share the cooking some nights. Can put you in touch with our past Helpers if you’d like to know more about us, the local area etc. Our place is a fairl...

In this period we need help in doing the plasters with clay. ----------------------- Hello beautiful souls! We are Claudio & Elisa, a 40 year old couple that after spending a couple of years travelling as volunteers, 4 years ago decided to buy a 3 hectares land in Abruzzo, that we share with our cats Ninni, Acqua, Ginger and Roger. Here we have almost 300 olives trees (we produce an amazing biological oil), a vegetable garden, where we put on practice the principles of the natural and regenerative agriculture, and a wooden and clay house that we are building. We have a simple life, in harmony with Nature and her inhabitants. We live in a camper, while volunteers stay in a caravan, that is o...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my wife Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (2yrs). We are looking for 2 people; one to help collect eggs on the farm and the other to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me. Alex, Mel, Kenzie & Emmie

Hello my name's Linda. I am a Queens English speaking intelligent lady, in her early 60's. Animal LOVER. Previously had lived in incredibly touristiky tacky Marmaris in Turkey more than 16 years running private boat and fishing charters. BUT NOW on with my next about turn adventure and BIG life change having bought a very old part renovated Cortijo/FARMHOUSE in Spain, Andulucia, Granada Province on the beautiful but windy Costa Tropical famous for its exotic fruit and vegetable growing. The Cortijo is mostly renovated and large, she stands solitary on the slopes of a low mountain lea below Mount Lujar, I am at 350meters above sea level. Amazing mountain and se...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

It looks like we are full until at least June but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop an...

You will be required to do a variety of jobs including working with the team, helping with farm work especially lambing, helping with feeding animals, gardening, cleaning and D.I.Y. Overall you need to be enthusiastic, motivated and use your initiative. We will provide everything so you will be happy and can enjoy your time here. Its a great place!!! Visiting Pembrokeshire and in particular staying here would suit people who enjoy the outdoors, nature, hiking, water sports etc. There is so much to do in the surrounding area.

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to get ducks in addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to be used as a pit...

We live within walking distance of the town of Sligo, by the Garavogue River on the west coast of Ireland and would love to have help for about 4 hours a day, five days a week, with a small garden, weeding & digging, painting inside when weather is too wet for the garden, and walking the dog. We're essentially looking for someone flexible and easy-going who can pitch in to whatever needs doing. We are walking distance to town. Bike available. Myself and my daughter, Niamh were Helpx Helpers in Canada for two summers, and also used to hosting international guests (we've had the pleasure of a number of Helpx Helpers in our home) and have a warm and welcoming house. We have a small dog, Teddy. Sligo is a small town with plenty to see and great traditional music. Local bus to Strandhill, where there is a lovely beach and great for surfers. The Garavogue River is a two minute walk from the house (see picture). Bright, comfortable own room for Helper; share bathroom with one other.

Our house We live in a nice and small town in Belgium called Maaseik, which is 6km from the Netherlands and 12km from Germany. Our house is our dream home with a big forest-like garden. We grow lot of fruits, vegetables and herbs, all of which we try to eat every day. We also have chickens and ducks which we keep for eggs and sometimes meat. Our family grow beef cattle in a picturesque area of Victoria. Our cattle farm is 1.5 hours north-east of Melbourne in the Glenburn valley, half way between the small country towns of Yarra Glen (25km away) and Yea (25 km away). The wine region of the Yarra Valley is 20mins away by car. You will have the freedom to explore our property with its rolling hills and running creeks and learn about ethical and sustainable beef production. We primarily need assistance to do various types of work for eg plant native trees, painting fences and sheds, mowing lawns etc but if you have building skills you can help to renovate the old farm cottage eg painting, rendering, sanding, carpentry. Hola todas! My place is an old grain mill with half a hectare of land. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted many volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Meditations, dancing, healing, massage, channeling, singing,....! Many communities of all sorts (hippy, midwives, subud, soefie). Hiking in all directions. Even skiing starting beginning of December. I try to keep a healthy environment, so no drugs that cloud your spirit. No dogs either. People mostly stay between one and two weeks. Work is about 5 days a week, 4 hours a day. Food and lodging included. Flexible. Work depends on peoples abilities. During summer months (June until September) I don't host because of high te...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

We're looking for someone who can meet the kids at school four days a week and keep an eye on them till we finish work (roughly 3pm-6pm) during term, or some longer days during the holidays.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting.

We have a vineyard, olive trees and vacation houses near Tropea in Calabria. We need a couple to help us for some week from september to june for vintage, olive harvest, gardening, general maintenance and internet announcements. In autumn, winter and spring we have a lot to do in the vineyard, with the olive trees, the house and garden. Accommodation in a full equipped chalet offered. It is better to COME WITH CAR or rent it here. We expect you to work 2 and half hours a day (16-20) hours a week. You should buy and cook your food. We are used to give local products and teach you how to prepare traditional dishes. We appreciate if you work more hours on weekends because we are at home. You have a free day in the week. If we have time, we can show you around our region and our white sandy beaches. We would be glad to welcome people from all over the world to our home. We prefer couples. Feel free to write us an Email! It's possible to contact us early, that's not a problem!
