Looking for helpers February 2026 and beyond. Located in Melbourne's Southern eastern suburbs, only 1 hour by train to Melbourne CBD. We have a hobby farm with 2 cows, goats, alpacas, dogs, and cats. We are best suited to accommodate a couple or 2 friends travelling together and wanting to stay for 2 weeks or more. Helper accommodation is very neat self contained studio style cottage, with your own King Bed, Lounge, kitchen, bathroom and meals area. We would welcome anyone with any handyman skills etc. General duties include caring for the animals, gardening, mowing, weeding, fence repairs, painting, wood splitting and other odd jobs. We can provide accommodation in exchange for 20 hours per week. We are 5km from the local shops and public transport, so it is more convenient if you have your own vehicle.

Kia ora! We're a family of 3 living on 1.5 acres in Waipapa, Kerikeri. We're in a central spot for everywhere special to the east, west, south and far north. There are many great places to see and visit nearby or take a day trip to. We prefer 2 helpers working 10 hours per week (per person) in exchange for accommodation in your own private cottage. It's clean and totally separate to our main house. ---- Our property suits a couple (or 2 or 3 friends) who work independently. You need your own vehicle to get around. Food and laundry are not provided. Previous helpers say our place is perfect to refresh after camping in the car/tent, great wifi and comfortable beds, private retreat, also central to everywhere north of Auckland. Single helpers need to complete 15 hours per week. WHERE? Set in a beautiful rural location, but only 3 minutes' drive to Waipapa and 8 minutes' drive to Kerikeri. There's lots of fab places to enjoy nearby; waterfalls, beaches, lakes, hot pools, glow worm cav...

We'd love someone who likes gardening, stacking wood, sorting things out, fixing a big mosaic and possibly cook. If you like bigger projects, and have the skills, we would like to build an awning on top of our front deck. It's very easy to come to Mittagong by train from Sydney. The station is a 3 minute drive or twenty minute walk from the house. We usually try people out for a a few days, but there's probably between 2 weeks and a month worth of work, depending on your skills We are a casual couple, musical, fun-loving and living in the beautiful Southern Highlands an hour or so southwest of Sydney. We love meeting fellow travellers on the path of life and sharing experiences. We'll be happy with anything around 4 hours a day and we're very flexible when it comes to when it's done. We are a 2 minute walk from the National Park with endless glorious bush walks and loads of Kangaroos, wombats and Cockatoos. There are many National Parks close by as well as Fitzroy and Belmore Falls, ...

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

We live on the edge of a tidal estuary and it is a short walk to the swimming beach. We have kayaking and walking tracks, mountain biking, fishing, archery, and snorkelling close by our home. The work you would be doing includes work that needs someone good fitness and energy, eg weeding, clearing paths, odd jobs around our half acre section and organic garden, housework, and home maintenance. Some practical skills in building and use of machinery would be a bonus. We normally cook gorgeous whole plant based food mostly from our vegetable garden, supplemented by fish. Hello, We are back home after an extended stay overseas and are now looking for some precious help with the land and various jobs around the house. From 5th February, we’re seeking people to assist with gardening, tidying, cleaning, and helping Glen with DIY projects. Last year, when we moved onto this new piece of land, we had a fantastic experience with HelpX. The help made such a difference, and we truly enjoyed the interactions and friendships that grew from it. We see HelpX as a mutually beneficial exchange and are excited to welcome people to stay with us again. Accommodation: You’ll have your own room with a queen bed and access to a shared bathroom in a small sleepout. Cooking is done in the sleepout kitchen. Some meals will be shared together—giving us a chance to chat, reflect on the world, and enjoy good conversation. We’re interested in sustainability, community living, gardening, and how to make the world a better place, one small action at a time. The views are beaut...

Helpers Wanted – October 12th Onwards 🛠🌿 We’re looking for a friendly couple or two friends to give us a hand for about 4–5 days starting from the 12th of October. There’s a variety of jobs to choose from, so you can pick what suits you best — everything from chainsawing, landscaping, weeding, bush removal, and planting, to carpentry work if you’re handy with tools. There’s plenty to do, and we’re happy to match tasks to your skills and interests. It’s a great chance to enjoy some rewarding outdoor work, meet nice people, and spend time in a beautiful place. 🌿☀️ About Us We’re a family of four — two adults and two children — living on a lifestyle block and working towards greater self-sufficiency. We are looking for helpers with carpentry skills to help us with improving the area under the main house, which you will be living in. It is self contained. My wish list includes a raised platform to creat a sleeping and living zone, acoustic feature wall, installing hand basin. What you will get: -A nice private self contained studio in a leafy suburb close to the Brisbane city centre, transport and conveniences. -A helpful host to your stay in Brisbane. I can help you with a lot of things like finding work and other tips to help you with your stay in Brisbane. -Flexible work schedule. Note: You will mostly be independent unless you need me there. I am often busy so cannot provide a lot of social interactions. Happy to do occasional dinner/drink but not every day. Please reach out - we would love to hear from you!

Hosting educating helpers from start April until end of October every year. I am a male from United Kingdom now living in France, and I have an interesting informative project in progress! Having lived off-grid in various locations over the past 20 years, I am based in the heart of the Languedoc Roussilon region (The worlds largest wine area). I currently have the basics set up in my re-purposed barn, including solar paneled electricity, fridge, charging for phones, laptops during day. Composting toilet, separate ladies no 1s toilet. Simple showers, we fill with buckets water from river. That warms quickly in the Mediterranean sun or you can heat hot water over our cooking fire. We also use a gas hob for cooking and hot drinks only. We get a good 4 and 5 g signal here. I would particularly like help with basic supervised DiY, weed clearing, re-roofing, and renovation of the barn, along with tree and vegetable planting and care. I expect 20 hours work per week in return for food, wine ...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters !! .please don`t apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers ! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar ( badly ) and sing ( worse ) ,but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

My mother and I live in a farmhouse at the edge of a forest, surrounded by fields.. We have horses, dogs, mini pigs, sheep, chicken, ducks and cats. For my guests I offer a pretty guest room with a double bed, a bed for a little child until 5, and a desk. If you would prefer to stay in your own camper this is possible, too. I work as a teacher in a school nearby and as a Coach for families. My mother and I are vegetarians and like cooking fresh food everyday. We grow vegetables and fruit in our garden and of course eat the eggs of our chicken. We both speak english fluently. I do need help in general maintenance around the house and every now and than someone who takes care for the "big" animals, because i would love to visit my daughter and her family in Berlin. In our area you can go for lovely walks, go swimming in the lake nearby of go scubadiving in a chalk lake in the neighbour village. We are not to far from the northsea and from Hamburg, Bremen and Bremerhaven. As we live n...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Seven years ago, Tim and I moved to our little farm, and we've been busy ever since; growing a garden, planting trees, and learning how to care for the land. We joined Landcare to better understand the local trees and wildlife, especially the ones that need a bit of extra protection. Tim is a retired engineer and has a knack for designing and building, so he’s been having a great time working on the infrastructure around the property. As for me, I’m a creative arts teacher and public health practitioner. I still teach both online and on campus at an Australian university, balancing my work with farm life. One of my biggest passions here is my rose garden with 400 fragrant bushes, and I'm dreaming of making rose water and rose oil one day. We’ve also got a thriving organic fruit and veggie garden, with plenty of fruit trees and a mix of seasonal vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies, and we’re just a short stroll from the Murray River, perfect for a bit of fishing. I lo...

Single helpers need to complete 15 hours per week. WHERE? Set in a beautiful rural location, but only 3 minutes' drive to Waipapa and 8 minutes' drive to Kerikeri.

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, sheep and a dog. (See photos below of a recent volunteer with one of our lambs and also help-xers cleaning out the pond!) We would like help with woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! There may occasionally be some work with our sheep and sometimes looking after our adorable dog! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal. We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will see fr...

I lo...
