PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. Hi, I would like help around 21st April. I live in beautiful Coromandel town where I’ve created a small urban food forest based on permaculture principles. It’s a constantly evolving space full of fruit trees, edible plants and wildlife, and I enjoy sharing it with people who are interested in gardening, nature and simple living. I’m looking for 1 person to stay for a few days at a time (usually 3–4 days) and lend a hand with a mix of garden and household tasks. This might include food forest maintenance, light gardening, helping keep the space tidy, window cleaning or general housework. Nothing too heavy — just practical help to keep things running smoothly. You’ll be staying in my small, relaxed home and will have your own bedroom with a king single bed. We share the bathroom and living areas. My home is right in Coromandel town, within easy walking distance to the shops, cafés and harbour, and only a few minutes’ drive to some beautiful beaches and bush walks. In exchange for...

ABOUT THE PLACE AND MYSELF. A warm welcome to all those people who wants to share a transition towards sustainability and ecological life In 2010 me and my partner decided to quit our jobs and buy a small piece of land facing Mt. Etna and the Mediterranean sea. The garden was owned by Don Alfio, who was giving us all his personal know-how on how to run a vegetable garden, maintain an olives orchard and making wine. The garden has 120 olive trees, 100 various fruit trees, a small vineyard and a vegetable garden. Here we produce a small amount of organic Olive Oil EVO, Natural Red Wine and the veggies necessary to our diet. My project want to involve as many persons as possible to choose an ecological way of life for the future of our planet. WHAT WE DO WITH THE VOLUNTEERS. I try to always work aside with volunteers, sharing my knowledge about how to live in a more sustainable way. The timetable can not be perfectly fixed in advance as it depends from the kind of work we are going to...

My focus is on producing healthy, nutrient-dense food in an environmentally-sustainable and ethical manner. That may sound like a lot of multi-syllable boxes to tick, but it comes down to common sense and logic and knowing the consequences of your interactions wtih nature. I research, experiment, write about, consult and teach how to live off the land. Hence my orchard contains a huge range of food-producing plants. However, I have learnt to distinguish between edible and tasty and I love it when travellers from other cultures teach me how to use a food in a way previously unknown to me (remember, all of NZ food plants are imports). From guests I expect: Four hours help per day (this can be done day on/day off depending on what suits), and is varied and interesting, including maintenance of the lifestyle block, caring fo rthe animals or orchard and garden work. Assistance in preparing and cleaning up the daily main meal. Assistance with housework chores. In return: Good food (real...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. My friend bought this beautiful old farm in Bjarnarfjordur witch is in the west fjords of Iceland And the westfjords were selected as top destination in the world by Lonely Planet for 2022 No one has lived there for the last 20 years so there’s plenty of things to do Mainly it’s taking care of the eiderducks (put up flags and scarecrows to keep the artic fox and seagulls away from the area) The eider nests on small islands close to the farm so we will need to take a boat or a kayak and row to the islands After the nesting season we pick up the down that they left in the nest And another thing is feeding the rainbow trout that we will be farming in tanks on land Also we have to paint and fix the old house We have our own geothermal hole that produces lots of hot water Even though it’s seems remote it’s only 35km to the next town Hòlmavík where there’s a supermarket, bank and basically everything you need From June to October we are doing whale watching trips from Hólmavík and mo...

Help needed to prepare guesthouse for summer season, incl rearranging of rooms, painting and garden/outdoors in April and May :-) I have a small ecotourism guesthouse and traditional harbour dock house property in north Norway. This place is my grandparents heritage and it means alot to me, but it is also alot to take care of on my own :) I have made the place into a nice guesthouse to share it with others and be able to maintain the historical buildings. As spring now is starting I am looking for help to prepare for the summer season, especially during April and May. Maybe you are already somewhere near and can come in short notice? That would be great. This spring I have walls to paint, a garden to rescue, smaller building projects, wooden boats to prepare for outing, new rooms to make ready for guests and old rooms to reorganize and make nice. I really enjoy this spring period, but for the time we have before June, some help and a small team would be just wonderful. My gue...

Seven years ago, we moved to our small farm in Northern Victoria. We have been growing fruit and vegetables, planting trees, and learning to care for the land. Tim is a retired engineer. He designs and builds things around the farm. Beth is a teacher and health practitioner who also teaches at an Australian university. She loves her rose garden with over 400 fragrant bushes that smell beautiful on a cool morning. The farm has an organic vegetable garden, an orchard, berry patches, a herb garden, and a music room with a baby grand piano in the house. If you play an instrument, bring it. We are close to the Murray River. The skies are big, the sunrises and sunsets are stunning, and the birdlife is extraordinary, from flame robins and splendid fairy-wrens to eagles, grass parrots, and a family of quail who live in the herb garden. And then there are the magpies. They are our farm mascot, you will find sculptures and mosaics of them all around the property and they will wake you every mor...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years, we enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play.

In 2006 my husband and me moved from Germany to Croatia with the intention of a simple life in a natural, rural and clean enviroment. A few years ago sadly my husband passed away. In the meantime my mum moved in , so its the two "old ladys " :-) Now i am trying to handle the "farm" on my own. During our life here we have realized how many poor dogs and cats are abonded and we started "picking" them from the street, giving them a shelter and try to find a new home. So one part of help which i need is with taking care of the dogs, which includes providing them with food, water, cleaning the pens and of course peting them. I am looking for people who have a strong work ethic, who see whats to be done, and can clean up after themselves. I also need help with the everyday activities on the farm which vary according to the time of year. Typical tasks include tending the garden, weeding and harvesting. Other seasonal activities include preparation of the garden beds, application of compo...

Looking for help with the garden and the house, this will take up 2h/day. I live in Thurgoona, which is a suburb of Albury. There is unlimited internet, you will have your own room. This helpx placement would suit a fit single traveler with own transport who can work unsupervised. Would prefer a male helper with rown initiative, non-smoker. I need help with my deck (sanding and oiling) and cutting back ornamental grass. I am a dual citizen with German heritage. I work part-time from home and some hours outside of home. Albury is on the main highway between Sydney and Melbourne, about 6-7h from Sydney and about 4h from Melbourne. It is a nice country town with cafes and all shops etc., Saturday night life, cinema etc. There is the weir for swimming, some nice towns to visit in the mountains, such as Bright, Mt Beauty and Falls Creek. There are also a few areas with famous wineries around Rutherglen, the King Valley etc. Thanks.

Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us.
