We are an organic farm producing vegetables, some fruits, bread, eggs, and chickens sold directly to a system of baskets to 40 families and to organic shops. We work on 15.000m2 vegetable garden, 1-2 ha cereals, 2 ha apple trees. We are 2 families living on 2 separate farms, working together and we always enjoy help. For the past four years, the land belongs, as is fair and good, to a Tribal University and Land Grant University located on the Rosebud Reservation, home of the Sicangu Oyate, in South Dakota. Since then, the seed has sprouted and pushed roots of beginnings down into the soil and the sprout and it's cotyledons have come out into the sun. Our farm is up for sale, so work is lighter, mostly weeding, cleaning, and property tidy-ups. Usually, it’s just you, us, and the animals, so it’s a relaxed, family-style experience. We typically start at 8am or by arrangement and ask for about 4 hrs of help per day You’ll stay in your own private air-conditioned container accommodation next to our home, share meals, enjoy the spa pool, BBQ area, and explore with our e-bikes. A vehicle is recommended as there’s no public transport, Richmond (shops, cafes) is 5 mins away, Nelson 20 mins. Come and experience life on a working cattle, seed and hay property. We run 300 head of cattle on our 560 Ha home farm, set in a beautiful valley. Join in with us as we work around the property, including tasks such as mustering, stock work in the cattle yards, fencing and machinery and vehicle maintenance. Come and see what we do with the seed and hay we grow. You might like to have a go at cleaning and bagging grass seed or coming along for the drive when we deliver hay. We rely on 4WD motor bikes and tractors for many tasks and may take the time to train you how to use these safely. Apart from experiencing farm life, we look for help in our garden and vegetable garden, as well as odd jobs in and around the house. Diamond Beach, Shelly Beach, and Redhead are within easy walking distance from the property, but we'll drive you to Black Head Beach and several other quiet secluded beaches which are just a short 5-minute drive away. Many of our guests like to walk back from Black Head Beach along the beach to our property. I have so enjoyed the helpxers who have stayed and achieved so much on my property. You are welcome to come and help. I have a double room available. We are situated in the Lima East valley in North East Victoria 35km from Benalla. There are trains and buses to Benalla. We are happy to collect from station or bus stop. Short term or longer term stays by mutual agreement. We have an organic vegetable garden and fruit trees. Activities are to help maintain veggie gardens, tree planting, sometimes fencing and farm activities. The property is 2/3 farm and 1/3 bush. Farm area leased out to sheep farmer. Accommodation is inside house with private room and nearby bathroom. Very warm and cosy in Winter, Air conditioning in Summer. We cater for various diets eg vegetarian. Prefer non smokers. All meals provided but help required with preparation. There is mobile reception. Hi Effie and family here 🥰 and we live in Elands, NSW, 2 kilometres from the legendary Ellenborough falls, on a 17 acre property, surrounded by forests and wildlife. And lots of swimming spots everywhere so lovely in summer, rivers creeks and waterfalls through the forest, it’s def a beautiful place 😃💕🦋 We have a small animal sanctuary. All our animals are rescued 🤎 some have had very tuff lives but they are here for a special rest of their life 💞 So loving animals is a must.
