Hi Helpers! Thanks for checking out our profile and for being open to the idea of spending a summer immersed in the lush, mountain landscapes of Minakami, Japan. We run a unique coffee roastery guesthouse in a reimagined 55-year-old lodge tucked into the Tanigawa Valley, a peaceful and adventure-filled corner of northern Gunma. Unlike the more commercial tourist spots, Minakami has a truly local atmosphere and in summer, it transforms into a river and mountain playground. * Now Recruiting: Spring/Summer/Autumn 2026 * We're putting together our summer crew and are especially looking for a couple or solo person who can start soon and stay through the main adventure season (now/soon through until the end of August or longer). There may be opportunities to stay longer depending on how things go. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to spend a season in the Japanese mountains, get involved with a creative small business, and enjoy a region that’s rich with rafting, canyoning...

My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors, and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect to answer all their questions, pose for pictures, and be invited...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Hello open-minded folks! We have quite the opportunity for the right person (or people). I, myself am a long time traveller, chef and musician. I am normally in San Francisco to visit my family for a couple of months a year. The place I stay in the most is my father's house. He is 75, born in San Francisco, grew up during the hippies days just blocks away (there was definitely some crossover) and has been attending the Burning Man Festival for the last 20 years. He is a very good sweet and generous man, that loves showing people around the town he is from, having a beer or two at a bar with friends or eating some good food. He also loves a good game of backgammon and a coffee from his espresso maker. Now, that harsh realities; he has a life-long issue with hoarding, so there's lots of stuff in many places (but not in your bedroom, bathroom or kitchen). He is also starting to experience some of the issues of aging, especially with memory. As a chef, I have a pretty high standard of wh...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

A beach front section. Kayaking, body boarding, swimming and fishing available for guests. Accomodation and meals provided in exchange for four hours work a day. Gardening, housework, general household maintenance and painting could be requested. I can collect people from the end of the Taupo Bay road or Mangonui. My preference is for people to stay a week . Taupo Bay is quite a small community and no public transport is available so it is often easier to have your own transport. Certainly not essential as arrangements can be made for collection and support to get to your next destination. Many thanks for looking. Fran

LOOKING FOR HELPERS NOW. In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 30,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every year. Most of the wor...

Available for HelpX from beginning of December so might suit those already in Ireland or a short flight away. Suit couple or two friends or solo travellers. Minimum 3 days stay. My name is Ruairi and I’m an Irishman restoring a 15th century castle that had been vacant for 10 years and needs some renovation. It's located in County Galway in the West of Ireland and surrounded by farmland. It has always been my dream to live in a castle and I am very interested in historical research. I have lived and travelled all around the world and am happy to show visitors around the area. The pubs in this part of the world are famous for traditional live music. The building is on a small plot of land and is a small tower house three stories high. The accomodation is basic and there is limited food preparation facilities at the moment. All electrics and plumbing are working. Bedrooms have central heating radiators. The castle was fully restored in the 1980's but has been vacant for 10 years and so...

Kia Ora, This is an Organic B&B annex residential Therapy centre for auditory brain stimulation to improve how we learn, live & listen. Background in journalism, music and eduction. No complex jobs, mainly help with the maintenance of house and gardens. I am a wwoof host as well, since 2015 in fact and still am. That organisation (www.wwoof.co.nz) is in fact my first port of call. I only recently (June 2024) got back on board with HelpX. You'd work independently, so some know-how is required especially with regards to the gardens. Work hours: flexible but generally between 4 -5 hrs daily, preferably in the morning. You either can cater for yourselves ( in case you stay in one of the studios) or have your meals provided for, whatever suits best. With regards to your accommodation: over the winter that would most likely be either in one of the studios or up at the main house. The studios have their own kitchen so in case you choose to be there you may want to do your own cooking. The...

The property is a small Beef cattle farm on the mid-north coast. Located 40 minutes drive from Port Macquarie town and beaches and 20 minutes from Wauchope and the nearest train station. This place is a really good option for someone on their way between Sydney and Brisbane who wants to break the trip for a few weeks. We are a couple with an adult son who is away at University. We have horses, chickens, ducks,3 dogs and cattle. We have a 2nd farm near Kempsey where we run cattle so sometimes we go over there to work as well. My husband and I both work from home although sometimes I have to spend days away doing fieldwork. We would expect between 3-5 hrs work a day, depending on what needs to be done, with 1 day off each week, usually a weekday, a lift into town can be arranged. Accommodation is in our house, and you will eat with the family. I would appreciate sharing the cooking and cleaning. Wi-Fi available, non-smokers only. The usual chores will involve some gardening or g...

We are a hybrid family with a 13-year-old daughter with us 50% of the time and 2 personality filled cats. We are looking for someone (or a couple) to join us from December for 4 weeks (or longer). The assistance needed is help in the substantial-sized garden. Gardening/Home Handyperson experience would be great. Because it's spring/summer time the garden will definitely need attention, including preparing the ground and planting. Abigail is a lovely girl (& no, it’s not just us who think so!) She loves reading, board and card games, baking, the trampoline... she's easy to have fun with. She enjoys our international helpers and has created many friendships; most stay in regular contact with us. Sometimes you are required to assist with getting Abigail to and from activities, so a full license is preferred. The overall help requested is a couple of hours per day, Monday to Friday. There is a bit of flexibility as to how these play out. We (Darryl and Theamarie) work from home so are g...

After 16 years, and hosting almost 100 HelpXers, at our property in Larnook, in the Northern Rivers region, Steve and I have moved to a new place in Tenterfield, at the northern end of the New England Tableland. All of our reviews up until September 2024, are related to our previous place. We are now ready to accept HelpXers at our new place. Steve and I are a gay couple and we offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Tenterfield, the more you will get out of it. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, establishing herb and vege gardens, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated a few kilometers west of the town of Tenterfield, in a quiet, rural area. We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (for checking emails, looki...

Happy Hills in Maheno We are hosting again this spring and summer! The farm is so beautiful in spring time and we can do with an extra pair of hands to help us on our regenerative journey. Soil health and biodiversity are key players for us. We love hearing new ideas and sharing our successes...and failures :) We are a NZ/German family of five (kids aged 10, 12 and 14) who love to travel and love meeting travellers from all over the world. We used to live on a sailing boat when the kids were smaller and sailed to many tropical islands, exploring reefs, tribal life and off grid living. Now we have swapped that life for one on the land, aiming to regenerate our little farm by introducing more and more diversity into the plant and animal kingdom. Permaculture lies close to our heart and so does animal welfare, truely healthy grown food and simplicity. We love nature, all things animals, plants and bees and our community. Our kids are homeschooled and we love it when helpers bring their...

Hello friends, Welcome! -- How I'm on HelpX -- You have found an old profile (I have hosted more than 10 times - just most people forget to leave a reference!), in quite a new situation! It is about 8 years since I stopped traveling myself and came back to my hometown. I got to know this platform when I was a student in Kefalonia island and I met some very interesting people who were travelling using helpx. This is why I decided to create my profile when I returned at the countryside, to meet again interesting people and share creative time together! -- About me -- I am a musician - I study music all my life and have been playing with several bands - though I like doing many other different things. Recently I have started studies on homeopathy and I aim this to be my future job. Here in the countryside I work in agriculture and gardening. Apart from these I like many activities in the nature like: hiking, fishing, mushroom harvest, swimming, surfing, supping... And I'm also in...

We welcome travelers who would like to help out on a small farm near the surf breaks at Ahu Ahu Road. Its a 10 minute walk to the beach, and we have surfboards and bikes to loan. The accommodation is private and self contained, off grid and comfortably sleeps two people. Its best suited for a couple. The toilet is a short drop :) and you can either prepare your own meals or have dinner at the farm.house, which is about 300 m away. The view is beautiful and the location is tranquil. There are some great walks very nearby on the Kaitake mountain or along the coast.

Note… Jasmine has chronic pain and therefor smokes medical cannabis a few x daily ( occasionally inside but we do air our home out and take pride in it being a beautiful indoor jungle ). Recently I have started studies on homeopathy and I aim this to be my future job. Here in the countryside I work in agriculture and gardening. Apart from these I like many activities in the nature like: hiking, fishing, mushroom harvest, swimming, surfing, supping... And I'm also in...
