Hello there and many thanks for your interest. We run a tourist hostel and pub in a beautiful Victorian house located on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland. (The island is linked to the mainland by a bridge). If applying to stay with us, please note the following: --Tell us your approximate arrival date and how long you would like to stay (stays of 3 weeks or more are preferred). --Give us brief details of any work experience or skills you might have. --Please have a photograph of yourself on your profile. --You must be reasonably proficient in English. There is a lot of interaction with our guests, in person and sometimes on the phone. We live in a beautiful location and if you like water sports, surfing, hill walking etc, you will love it here. We are 10 mins walk to the sea and great beaches. It`s very quiet here in the low season but busy from June to September. We enjoy many good music sessions around the fire in our pub and everyone is welcome to join in. ...

Hi, we are Martina and Ali. We have renovated an old stonehouse in a small village in Southern Italy. It is situated in Cilento National Park, just 5 km from the Mediterranean. You can see the sea and the Amalfi coast from our terraces. The house is surrounded by an extensive orchard with olives, lemon, and fruit trees of all kinds, in total 4000 m2. It is fenced in to keep the wild pigs out. We also have 3 sweet little cats. For July/August/September we are looking for support with some DIY jobs in and around the house, e.g. build small walls in the garden, help with planning and constructing a garden shed, build a small kitchen cabinet. Also we look for help in the garden, e.g. harvesting figs and other fruit and drying thes in the sun as well as help with irrigating the plants. The garden is on a slope, so we use an electric pump to pump the water into water storage containers. Then we use garden hose and watering cans to irrigate. For the time from mid November onwards we are l...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

Summer is barely starting but when it'll be over, after nice few months wandering in the mountains and enjoying green grass, the sheep will have to go back to the warmth of the barn! So, from beginning of September to mid-October, we’ll need volunteers to hike/run after them in the mountains. It's not just random hike, it'll have to be to the sheep's rhythm. It’s hard work, the days can be long, but so satisfying to follow the flock of sheep going back home! You can of course text even if you're available another time of the year ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message (here, on WhatsApp or Instagram caroline.lsgt). You can also message Beggi (the farmer) directly via Facebook (Alexander Flumbri), named after Beggi's cat! Profile picture is of the cat as well (Beggi doesn't have that many hair!)! Where to start? We are a family in the western part of Iceland, at the gates of the Westfjords, Beggi runs the s...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed, skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of t...

Hello, I live 25 km from Picton in the Marlborough Sounds on the seaside. I am an artist and organic gardener. The views here are spectacular. I feed the bellbirds and Tuis on the deck. Here you are constantly surrounded by native bird song. And can walk on a beach daily. There is an outside room with a double and a single bed in it and a composting toilet and a shower. There is also a caravan. I can pick you up in Linkwater which is our closest town although its only a Pub and a petrol station but its on the main Queen Charlotte road half way between Picton and Havelock. If you are finishing the Queen Charlotte track I can pick you up. This is a beautiful place to spend a week or so. I have 4 free range chickens and a very friendly dog. I organic garden with 20 plus years experience in this way of life and eat and forage and fish a lot. I enjoy a life of less money and more time. I live by the beach which is great for swimming (summer) and fishing and walking. There is plenty of...

Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland and to a quiet vegetarian smallholding working towards self sufficiency (I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder!) I’m Kris, I have enjoyed hosting like-minded people from around the world for many years now. Friendships have been formed and from the comments of guests, it's been an enriching experience for me and those who have stayed. It is a lovely environment here, but I would say it is suited to a certain kind of person, so to make sure it’s right for you, please read my description, then let me know if it appeals to you, and why, thanks! (I reply to all personal messages!) The land is around two acres (1 hectare). A small amount is used for vegetable garden, I have also planted hundreds of trees, some of which I am now cutting for firewood to be more energy self sufficient. The woodland attracts a lot of wildlife and in the right weather, it is a joy just to sit and listen to the birds! The house is almost 200 years old, and I h...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Hi, we are a family that lives in the south of Italy in the beautiful region of Puglia; in the countryside but not too far from the sea. We have a family-run business in the Cisternino countryside, with holiday homes for tourists, riding stables and recreational activities. Looking for a person who can help in various activities; really interested in the life of the campaign and learning different tasks such as: carpentry, wrought iron, construction, painting, maintenance of the garden and agriculture, but also request for help in the relationship and management of tourists who stay with us. Excellent opportunity for those looking for complete experiences in the field of crafts and tourism and in the relationship with nature and animals. Having 4 children already, we only look for completely independent and flexible people. Musicians and artists in general are welcome (Juan the owner is also a musician). There is a chance to learn how to work wood and iron and many other things. It's ...

Welcome to our peaceful 3-acre lifestyle property in the beautiful Hokianga region of Northland, New Zealand. If you're looking for a genuine escape from city life, our small farm offers the opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience a more self-sufficient way of living. We share our land with free-ranging chickens, productive vegetable gardens, and a growing collection of fruit trees that help provide food for our table throughout the year. There are always a variety of interesting projects underway. We are currently converting an old wool shed into accommodation, creating a unique and comfortable space for future guests and helpers. Those who enjoy practical hands-on work will find plenty of opportunities for woodworking, building projects, gardening, planting, maintenance, and general farm activities. We are passionate about producing healthy food from the land and learning traditional skills. Depending on the season, you may be involved in harvesting fruit ...

We live on a small property eight minutes from Kerikeri township. We have a private lake and kayaks are available to explore. We used to run a bed and breakfast here so I guess we can say we dont bite and our place is clean and comfortable. Some animals and chickens on site. Fruit when in season. Having a vehicle to explore for times when you are not working is a must and there is no public transport here. We are meat eaters. We need help now throughout the year. I have some physical limitations and require help to get on top of STUFF. We have many trees that have been felled waiting for splitting with a fuel powered machine, paths needed to be built, gardening, general gardening tools available and I am also building a cottage. Inside work for those wet days include painting, plus preparation, cleaning windows plus other general household tasks. Woodworking/carpentry skills could be an asset. There is a workshop here if you want to pursue a project. A previous couple outfitted th...

I need some help to renovate an old cottage (build in 1880): painting walls and ceilings; working with roof pans and mortar (from inside), help in the garden. Other families in my little village (100 persons) will ask also for help by you. I offer of course accomodation and food - but I am a lousy cook!!. Inside the house is still something like a construction site, so accomodation is a little bit primitiv.

*** UPDATE Help wanted from 15 June 2026 onwards *** Stay as a member of the family and help with meal preparation and clearing up after meals. An important part of the role is playing with our young dog and taking him for walks. There is always lots to do in the garden at this time - some help with that would be good. Any help with IT is always welcome. We are always very grateful for any help really. In January/February I make marmalade and another pair of hands is especially welcome at that time! We have hosted for many years but have only recently started using Helpx. We always aim to give our helpers a positive experience of staying in the UK - we like playing cards in the evening and chatting and we'd like you to join in! We like exchanging cultural experiences with our helper. There is plenty of time to visit the places of interest near us, for example Oxford, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. Hello my name is Philip and my wife is Allison. We have a beautiful piece of land in Devon where we look after and breed alpacas. We often have beautiful baby alpacas in the summer. We have some tourism here as we have two bell tents and a shepherds hut. I like nature and the outdoors and like to have interesting conversations with any helpers we have. I am also interested in Japanese and Chinese culture. We normally only take one or two helpers at a time who will live in a comfortable lockable studio with open views of the land. We supply the food and bed linen etc. The work is five days a week and is very enjoyable and variable. It will be feeding and helping the animals as well as some light farm work, nothing too heavy. Also some tidying of the tents. Please do not use headphones to listen to music when outside because you will not hear farm vehicles. Also if you need to listen to music while outside I do not think that this is the right place for you. Please contact me with any que...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

We’re a young family living on the Murray River with our two little ones. Recently, we’ve taken on the management of the surrounding citrus orchard and are in the exciting process of transitioning to organics. We’re looking for energetic, hands-on people to join us in day-to-day orchard work, as well as general farm duties, gardening and friendly connections. There is plenty of space for anyone wanting to set up and be self-sufficient with bedding and cooking, however we have a bathroom available for use (1 toilet, 1 shower) if required. If you’re keen to spend time on the river, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a family-run farm, we’d love to hear from you!

This is for those of you who plan ahead. We are full until mid July, right at the start of our best fishing season and in the middle of our best weather when at least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn o...

Kia ora Good folk are most welcome to come and share this beautiful land and evolving home, garden, orchard, native restoration project 10km from Nelson. I've ticked 1 or 2 people - and, if you're great people & more than that, still get in touch ... Our place best suits people who are self-motivated, preferably skilled/experienced/handy with tools, and who find a bit of hard work satisfying. Practical people rock - especially if able to build or enjoy land work. Awesome for people who enjoy a bit of time to themselves (I work from home but won't be working with you all the time). 4ish hours a day flexi ... showing some love to the land and my little constellation of cabins ... check out Trehane Chill - you'll see my vibe. You have a super-sweet little cosy cabin that have been crafted with love and a strong commitment to recycling complete with kitchen and outdoor bathroom. Hi! My name is Iacopo and I run a small organic winery in the beautiful hills of Umbria, central Italy. We produce natural wines and welcome helpers who are interested in learning about vineyards, winemaking and rural Italian life. Depending on the season, tasks may include vineyard work (pruning, tying vines, canopy management, harvest), winery activities, preparing wine tastings, gardening and general help around the property. Helpers stay in a private apartment and receive accommodation and food in exchange for their help. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy nature, wine, agriculture and a relaxed countryside lifestyle. We usually host 1–2 helpers at a time and we appreciate positive, respectful and proactive people. No previous experience is required, but an interest in wine, farming or Italian culture is welcome.

Strictly NON SMOKERS please. I can take helpers from early Jan thru to mid Feb currently & March onwards. I do not need childcare duties, some cooking and cleaning would be helpful but most tasks are outside on the farm or indoor/outdoor maintenance of property. It's officially Winter and although we have sunny days we are high up on the ranges so we can have cold weather so bring warm jacket. Gardening, splitting and stacking firewood, fencing etc. indoor & outdoor painting. Sorting out garage, tools, general tidying up. 20 acre hobby farm with orchard and three well behaved border collie dogs who are very social. I currently have 8 alpacas & 15 sheep which need feeding and bringing into shelters in bad weather. Forest walks with the dogs is an enjoyable part of living here with kangaroos spotted most days. Plenty of birdlife with wild ducks and cranes, cockatoos, rosellas and kookaburras. Some helpers discovered a koala which is rare. This is an Off grid solar and wind powe...

We purchased this beautiful château in the Loire Valley in 2013 and with HelpXers like yourself, we worked tirelessly to renovate it, taking it from its dilapidated state to the current splendour of a modern 21st century castle. There is still a large space to renovate, as well as finishing touches all around the château, so we get excited if you have trade skills to offer. We have availability for you throughout the year from May through to October, and are keen to book interested people, like yourself, in for longer periods anytime over that period. We ask a minimum stay of two weeks with us, but longer periods are a big bonus. We love positive enthusiastic people who enjoy all that life offers and can share that energy with those around them. If you like working in the garden or have general handyman skills...we would love to hear from you. We would also love a stonemason to join us, as we always have a few stone walls to repair. And if you have experience working behind th...

***************************************************************************Scammers do NOT contact me************************************************************************************************* Hello fellow HelpXer's, I'm Ant, Thank you for viewing my listing. I can welcome mature non smokers, from age 30 onwards. I live a few miles outside Ennniscorthy town, Co.Wexford and there I keep bees as a hobby. My place is a house on some land. It is not a farm or business. Therefore I cannot host any students who request to stay for several months, in order to complete an internship. If you like to be outdoors, this is the best time of year. I can host 1 person for maximum 2 weeks at the moment, as my employment schedule allows. During my time off work, I am restoring a camper which it is taking all of my free time. So I particularly welcome anyone who loves to cook! I live in Kuranda, but travel often so plenty of opportunities to see new places. I'm a beekeeper that works between Cairns and Cooktown. This time of year my work is situated north of cairns so there plenty opportunity to explore north were not alot of tourist go. The work involves collecting bee hives for honey extraction and queen bee rearing this gives us plenty of time to explore. In spare time we can go to the local Rivers (Baron Gorge), local swimming holes or hiking. Task also involve house work and gardening. The work is not hard, suits male or females and is always varied, recreational activities after work as swimming, hanging out at the beach and camping.

The bus runs at the bottom of the hill every 20 mins, but the schedule is best checked on the app. Just $2 .50 with a orbus card. The room is small, with two bunk beds, a desk, with wi fi, and chrome cast tv. Our position is for all areas of house keeping at a professional level. We run a B&B, meeting place, and pop up cafe on occasions. The work is physical and fast paced. It is a sole position. Previous experience is preferred. A month is best for us, and longer if it works well. We are not looking for help at this stage till later in august . As we are now covered till this time. Experience is really most helpful. As I need to just let you get on, while I have other things. So from 8 am to 1 pm, in exchange for breakfast lunch and evening meal. You have a small room with desk, chrome cast screen, a set of bunks. I cannot cater for dietary needs sorry. And This is sole charge position. Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

Our property is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island), and includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life and other animals and is great for walking. We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes for the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. Ten years ago, we started a vegetable and fruit garden using permaculture principles based on Linda Woodrow’s methods. We have been growing fruit and vegetables in an organic manner where chooks are part of the garden and recycling and re-using is premium. We let nothing organic leave site, either composting, mulching, feeding to chooks or re-purposing. We have loved the journey and the bounty this has supplied and are now scaling this up to a small farm size. One of our goals is to share our experiences with others to generate the same types of interest in sustainable food production. We ask for four to five hours of work per day per person dependin...

The bus runs at the bottom of the hill every 20 mins, but the schedule is best checked on the app. Just $2 .50 with a orbus card.
