Spring March 15th, 2026 Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this winter with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We are located 100 kms west of Cairns with buses from Cairns to Mareeba daily. On our farm we grow tea tree, limes, various vegetable crops and cattle. Work mainly includes, fruit picking (photo), packing (photo), mulching, weeding, gardening, propagating, livestock, fencing & irrigation repairs. . Fishing and boating days when we can get away. Visits to the Daintree and Reef (see photo) Our farm also offers plenty of space to relax exercise, walk, swim or fish in our very own large dam. Famous for its dramatic backdrop of Mount Taranaki, New Plymouth is celebrated for its public art scene, lush gardens, and seamless blend of urban culture and outdoor adventure. Highlights include an 11km coastal walkway, a bustling café and restaurant scene, beaches, the sweeping 52-hectare Pukekura Park, and much more. Tucked in the countryside yet just 5–10 minutes from suburban amenities and the CBD, our property is a work in progress in the best possible way. A small farm (5 hectars, half of which is forest) in a quiet green valley, 1 hour walk from the village. The railway station (7 km) is Fabro-Ficulle, halfway between Rome and Florence.
