It has a couple of waterways running through the paddocks, and around 2ha of natural wetlands which were drained many decades ago. Our plan is to gradually plant native grasses and trees along the waterways, and eventually restore the wetlands to their natural glory. We need some help caring for all the new plantings – depending on the season this could be shovelling horse manure around the plants (spring), clearing weeds (spring), using a wood chipper to create mulch (spring/summer), or planting more trees (autumn/winter). I used to do glamping big time, I've stopped it it's just too much for me now......the accommodation for volunteers is a caravan with a compost loo outside, you have a cooking facility, to prepare your own meal. I am quite solitary, and early riser early to bed person, happy to work together and chat during the day. My name is Kara and I decided to leave the madness of the big city of Amsterdam to live in an off-grid mountain home surrounded by nature.After pausing my project for few years to travel, I have now returned and am continuing to develop it. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing experiences, and having good conversations. Guest have a private room and WIFI access. There is always something to do, such as gardening, planting flowers and trees, and occasional small repairs. Being handy is appreciated but not required. I share my home with cats and a dog, so animal lovers are especially welcome.

Be a volunteer in our ZOO!! Located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin we are not only a refuge for orphaned and rescued animals for but we also help to preserve the Amazonian wildlife. By volunteering at our zoo you will have a once in a life time opportunity to work with our various big cats including Jaguars, Ocelots and our Puma family. As well as big cats we also have and offer you the opportunity to work closely with capuchin, spider and woolly monkeys, macaws, peccaries, capybaras and tapirs as well as many more animals. Volunteers are asked to work 5 days and a half per week and between the hours of 8:00-12:00 and 15:00-16:00 just 5 hours a day. The minimum period of time required to volunteer here is two weeks. Nous sommes Pierre-yves et Paul, deux hommes gay. Nous habitons dans le sud ouest de la France, dans le très joli département de la Dordogne. Nous sommes horticulteurs. Nous vivons avec nos deux chats dans notre vieille ferme construite il y a plus de 200 ans. C'est un endroit paisible de la campagne française, à proximité d'un tout petit village. Les commerces et les villes ne sont pas très loin. Notre village s'appel Verteillac, il est situé à proximité de Ribérac. Notre vie tourne principalement autour des travaux en extérieur et par tous les temps. Nous exploitons une pépinière à domicile, ce qui nous laisse peu de temps libre pour entretenir la maison et le jardin. Nos projets incluent donc le jardinage, le désherbage, le défrichage autour de la maison et parfois la maintenance des bâtiments. Les travaux peuvent varier selon la saison. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We are restoring a fabulous castle with 365 windows that still badly need TLC : putty, linseed oil, varnish... April, May, June, September, October are usually fine. July and August are not a time when works can be done at the chateau as visitors are around. We would be very glad to welcome one or two people who are fond of old places and heritage. There are lots of other things that need doing as well. If you like refurbishing, if you are good at clearing up, carpentering, plumbering or gardening... you'll have lots to keep you busy ! We live in the South West of France, the Dordogne, in an area where there is lots to visit and enjoy. We don't actually live in the chateau (so there is some travelling involved) but in town which is nice because Périgueux is a lovely little city right in the center of the Dordogne.
