Townsville is a tourist hub, with access to beach, mountains, reef, rainforest and bush. Cranbrook is a leafy suburb across the river from the university, close to Riverway (free freshwater swimming lagoon, with art gallery) and shops, and on the bus route. There are large trees around my house, and there is always gardening or raking to do. My mother lives in a house 3 minutes away, and I help her with her garden. Accommodation is a granny flat with a powder room attached. There is a fold out double couch, plus a single bed mattress if required. You will share the bathroom and kitchen - in exchange for gardening, maintenance, painting, cooking or housework. Must love dogs - my dogs like to oversee human pursuits like digging, weeding and walking. I can assist with transport to local hiking spots, beach, or parks, or can pick you up from train or bus station. Prefer helpers who are non-smokers with family-friendly values, and able to work unsupervised when I go out. Also, To...

If you have only just arrived and are trying to find your way around then we'd be happy to help you or Ii you are just looking for a little taste of normal Kiwi rural life we would love to host you. We are looking for helpers at the moment. Generally we offer about a week's work but if interested there might be a possibility of a longer stay with some housesitting involved. Meg and I are a young couple (in our sixties), our three daughters have now all left home and are living their own independent lives. We love to have young people around. We will make sure to spend some time with you as we enjoy helping with English, while still leaving you plenty of time to yourselves. Our home is on a lovely quiet rural property with a stunning view of Ohiwa Estuary, less than 10mins from Ohope (in the beautiful Eastern Bay of Plenty) and Whakatane (famous for trips to White Island although due to tragic events these trips are not...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed ,skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . =============== Update April 16, 2026. We now have space starting May 4, for one person. =============== Spaces that may be available are: a small loft room that is accessible by a short ladder, or a loft bed above our yoga room. And sometimes other bedrooms when people go away. Top skills we are looking for right now: - Cooking/cleaning - indoor plants and sprouts. - Help with renovation projects (finishing a basement bathroom.) Note: We don't always book people many months in advance, we prefer to wait until closer to the start dates so we can see how much space we have. Some people here stay longer than they initially planned so we don't always know the timing of openings long in advance. If you would like to help, please let us know your range of availability and preferred length of stay. We are an 11-person vegetarian community house in Toronto. Hi! We are located around 12 minutes drive from Cairns city. We are on a large, riverside property. The property has a swimming pool and beautiful views over the river and to the mountains. There are horse paddocks and a few animals (horses, cats, dog, chickens, ducks) on the property. The main HelpX jobs are cleaning & tidying of the house, gardening (lots!), pool cleaning, feeding animals, helping with food preparation/cooking and (if you happen to be a bit of an artist) there are a couple of painting jobs to be done as well. There is a bus stop nearby so you can access public transport and we also regularly go on family excursions where you are welcome to come along and we can show you the area. We are a family with three children. Mum and Dad (me) are separated, but mum still lives on the property in a different dwelling and we share the care of the children. The HelpX visitor accommodation is a private room, but it is quite small with just a single bed, so would suit one person ...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

We are a small-scale, organic vegetable farm in Palmer, Alaska. We grow an array of beautiful produce which includes carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, brussel sprouts, romanesco, broccoli, potatoes, rhubarb, onions, beets, and many more. All of the vegetables we sell at local farmers markets are grown by us and are free of pesticides, GMOs, and chemicals. We not only believe that people should feel connected to their food, but we also feel that it should be delicious, healthy, and accessible. Work on the farm varies by season. In the Spring we spend our time prepping the field, sewing seeds, growing transplants, cultivating those seeds in the field, weeding, and watering. As we move into summer and fall helpers will have the opportunity to harvest and sell the fruits and vegetables that have been growing the past few months at the local farmers’ markets.

🏡 About My Home I live on a peaceful rural property near Penguin, Tasmania. It’s quiet, surrounded by nature, and ideal for someone who enjoys simple country life and fresh air. The house itself is an older farmhouse with a lived-in feel. It’s not modern or styled like an Airbnb, but it’s comfortable, cosy, and full of character. I share the home with my two large, friendly indoor rabbits 🐰 Helpers will have: A private bedroom located at the back of the house A separate bathroom (I have my own) Access to laundry facilities A calm and relaxed environment The kitchen and living areas are shared. The bedroom area is separate from my main space, so you’ll still have privacy. Occasionally, I may need to access the back area for laundry. There’s limited mobile reception at the property, but we do have reliable WiFi. * This is not a party house. it suits someone who enjoys a quiet, respectful environment. * Self-contained travellers (e.g. van) are welcome. Welcome to our peaceful goat farm and homestead in the beautiful Central Coast of California! We're a semi-retired couple with 20+ years of experience living off the land. Our 6-acre farm is home to dairy goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, bees, and gardens. We host ONE helper at a time to provide a personal and immersive experience. You’ll stay in a cozy, private trailer next to the house and share the guest bathroom. We cook and eat three healthy, mostly organic meals together every day using food we raise or organically source. 🏡 Stay in a Unique Wildlife Sanctuary near Currumbin Beach – Help with Gardening, House Projects & More I’m Deborah, and I live in a peaceful bushland home on the ridge in Elanora, on the beautiful Gold Coast (Southeast Queensland). The property is part of a koala sanctuary — wallabies regularly visit the backyard, and if you’re patient, you might spot a koala in the treetops. You’ll definitely hear them at night! Despite the natural setting, we’re only a 5-minute drive from Currumbin Beach and close to local shopping centres, bushwalks, weekend markets, and iconic surf spots. 🌿 About the Stay: I’ve recently moved back into my home and am still getting everything properly set up after a long and difficult few years dealing with insurance and rebuilding. The house is a work in progress — but a beautiful one — and helpers have always been welcome here. Sleeping arrangements currently include inflatable bedding, and there are still some basic household things being sorted out. Most gu...

We have a vacancy for helpers at the house now from April onward, for a short time starting with 1 - 2 weeks. We prefer a couple as the house has lovely, male, 30 something residents at the moment including my hardworking and responsible son Braedyn. I am in NZ but Braedyn will welcome and then guide you in what to do. I ask that you send me in WhatsApp the before and after photos every couple of days of the work that you have done. Please text me in NZ though in the first instance to get my OK and chat about mutual expectations. I am on WhatsApp also. At the moment we are looking for a couple who will clean windows, do painting, gardening, weeding and, tidying up and organising with your own initiative (if you are good at that) inside and outside, housework and provide assistance to my son who works full time. If you'd like to stay here I ask that you do 4 hours of work a day each person and then the rest of the day to yourself or if you prefer to do a days work, (say 8 hours in ...

We are looking for motivated and cheerful people to join us for various projects around our property. During EARLY SPRING (FEBRUARY – MARCH) we mainly need help with PAINTING JOBS, GARDEN PRUNING, HEDGE TRIMMING AND GENERAL CLEANING to prepare the house and garden for the new season. In SPRING & SUMMER (APRIL – AUGUST) we are also looking for people to help with GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING (CLEANING, IRONING) as well as some LIGHT GARDEN WORK SUCH AS WEEDING AND WATERING PLANTS. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our end fifties, we speak several languages: French, Dutch, English and a bit of Spanish. Our region, the LOT-ET-GARONNE, is a beautiful rural area full of history, located between Bordeaux and Toulouse. In summer, it becomes lively and festive with local food markets, concerts and medieval fairs. Our home lies on the edge of a small village, surrounded by 18 hectares of nature along the riverside. We prefer volunteers who can stay AT LEA...

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! Watch our YouTube video below, about our community and us, made by the very talented helpxer, Louie Ablett. Three of us live here now, myself 74, David 84 and Sue 64, who started as a WWOOFer and has moved here with the help of a voluntary activity agreement through Centrelink for over 55s'. Things have changed alot in the last few years as we sold our cattle herd in 2018, so I don't spend my life around cattle 24/7 like I did for 30 years. My husband retired from his Drilling job up north for 46 years, after 3 heart attacks, a shoulder repair and a major hip replacement, and a knee surgery this past December. I don't work at the local bank anymore. We do however have alot going on and are still on the farm. Now that the pandemic is over, we are welcoming travellers again. We are usually looking for a responsible person to help look after pets, and 3 older horses that love attention, and helping with garden in spring, produce or yard maintenance. Baking is my hobby, now that I am not working in the office anymore, and attending Market fests in surrounding towns. I also have a seasonal tax business from home and occasionally have to DJ for a wedding, or other social event in the area. I used to do alot but am slowing down now. We live on our farm with 3 horses. We'...

Hello! We're Sharon & Albert and we're located just outside of Keremeos in the beautiful Similkameen Valley! Our hobby farm is settled on 3/4 of an acre with a large vegetable garden with fruit trees, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, dogs, cats, and various other animals! What we mainly need some extra help with is with our large organic garden (planting, weeding, harvesting, watering) looking after the animals, ecological construction on our rustic cabin and outbuildings, and other odd-jobs outside and inside. What you will learn: Albert is a carpenter and a great teacher for anyone wishing to improve their building skills. He has built countless houses around Keremeos and Cawston. This winter he lost his leg to diabetes and is now with reduced mobility in an electric wheelchair. We need help adapting some part of the property to make it accessible to him! Sharon works for a non-profit here in Keremeos as senior housing coordinator for low-income and subsidized housing. She is extremel...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Also, To...
