Tēnā koutou, We are a French/Algerian/Kiwi family. We moved to the North of the South Island (Te Wai Pounamou) in 2023 and live on a four hectare property where there is lots to be done. Mathew is into agroecology, permaculture and conservation. He has experience running workshops and leading work groups. Rym is interested in Indigenous knowledge, community development and the disruption of the current economic system. We speak French and English at home. You would learn about the NZ rural lifestyle, agroecology and permaculture techniques, food conservation, pest control, and probably lots more. There are a range of tasks to be done, mainly gardening, fencing work, animal care (chickens and sheep) and fire wood cutting/stacking/moving. Possibly some small renovation tasks for those with the right skills. Tasks will depend on the season and what travellers are comfortable doing, as well as what they want to learn. An awesome 2 bedroom settlers cottage, which was built in the 1860s. It ...

Dear Helper, please use the HelpX message section for your first contact message, so I can see your HelpX profile and references. Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (2yrs). We are looking for 2 people; one to help collect eggs on the farm and the other to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me. Alex, Mel, Kenzie & Emmie

We're always looking for assistance in property maintenance in the fields and on our private bike park. We also quite often are on the lookout for those who have experience in web content and photo and video editing to help update our websites. Please read!! 😀 We have a peaceful, rural lifestyle block with a number of heritage chickens and a cat and dog. Our residence is a scenic 20-minute drive out of Nelson. After an intense house renovation, we are now entering the final phase, focusing on cleaning and refreshing the house. From APRIL (for about one month), we are looking for help with PAINTING work inside and outside, as well as some light gardening tasks such as weeding. This period is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and likes to see visible results at the end of the day. From JUNE onwards, as the weather becomes warmer, the help will mainly consist of daily HOUSEKEEPING tasks (cleaning, ironing), with occasionally some light gardening. We’ve found that this experience works best for people who enjoy staying active and contributing in a practical way to daily life. We truly appreciate volunteers who bring positive energy, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine willingness to help. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our late fifties, we speak French, Dutch, English, and a bit of Spanish. Our home is located in the beautiful r...

A fantastic site, a crazy project, nice animals and two eccentrics in search of an improbable conversion. Here's what you'll find in the middle of the ruins of a medieval castle and its outbuildings. We left Britanny to the Hautes-Pyrénées ten years ago, to begin this life project as ambitious as exciting. With our garden and animals, we try to develop an craft business incubator, as well as a an artistic school. we also hope to work wit associations to save the ruins of the castel! Located 450m above sea level in the Pyrenean foothills, our little corner of paradise requires numerous works of all kinds to regain its former glory and to adapt to future projects: land clearing and building, logging, preservation of stone walls, development of livestock buildings and places of life ... in short, a work of many lives that we began for the rest of both ours. There's no luxury, no excessive mechanization, limited means, but a warm welcome and plenty of goodwill. The work is at an early st...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

A beach front section. Kayaking, body boarding, swimming and fishing available for guests. Accommodation and meals provided in exchange for four hours work a day. Gardening, housework, general household maintenance and painting could be requested. My preference is for people to stay a week. Taupo Bay is quite a small community and no public transport is available so it is often easier to have your own transport. Certainly not essential as arrangements can be made for collection and support to get to your next destination. I can collect people from the end of the Taupo Bay road or Mangonui. Many thanks for looking. Fran

We are currently looking for keen gardeners, house painters, people with chainsaw experience or general carpentry skills. Are you interested in spending some time in the Christchurch area during your travels? We have spent the past 20 years hosting helpers and woofers on our farm in Le Bons Bay and our lifestyle block in Little River but recently our family life required a shift to town. We now have a huge garden, new orchard and an old villa, all of which could use your help. My son & his partner also live on a lifestyle block 20 mins out of town that you can also help with.. We figure being in town could be useful for those just arriving or soon to be leaving from Christchurch. Or perhaps those who just need a few days or a week with fresh garden produce & home cooked meals. Accommodation at my son's is in a cute converted bus. As you can take the farmers to town but you can't take the farm out of our hearts, we still have chickens, cats, and a dog. My son also has horses. In ...

We have a vineyard, olive trees and vacation houses near Tropea in Calabria. We need a couple to help us for some week from september to june for vintage, olive harvest, gardening, general maintenance and internet announcements. In autumn, winter and spring we have a lot to do in the vineyard, with the olive trees, the house and garden. Accommodation in a full equipped chalet offered. It is better to COME WITH CAR or rent it here. We expect you to work 2 and half hours a day (16-20) hours a week. You should buy and cook your food. We are used to give local products and teach you how to prepare traditional dishes. We appreciate if you work more hours on weekends because we are at home. You have a free day in the week. If we have time, we can show you around our region and our white sandy beaches. We would be glad to welcome people from all over the world to our home. We prefer couples. Feel free to write us an Email! It's possible to contact us early, that's not a problem!

It looks like we are full until at least June but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Please note, there is no internet on at the house, I prefer to communicate with people face to face. I only have internet on my phone. There is a community centre just down the road where you can access the internet on week days. There's also a club in town that has free internet and is open until 4am 7 days a week. The only room currently available is the smaller double room upstairs. I currently have a lady with 2 children in the downstairs area. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. We love hosting travellers and enjoy also getting jobs done on our list. With having 10 acres to care for, there is always something to do. We will give you food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours of work. We love having first time helpers and help you map out your journey in the north or just help you get used to being in NZ. Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.
