Howdy. It’s been great hosting with HelpX and having the opportunity to offer local cultural experiences to friends from around the globe! Thus far our helpx volunteers have been a big help and we gratefully appreciate their time and services offered on helping with meaningful projects. We opened this site as our second HelpX location. Now we have three sites. For previous volunteer references you can also check out our New Orleans Community Center HelpX site. https://helpx.net/host/1055516QX VOLUNTEER HOURS No experience necessary, only a willingness to work and learn. Volunteers work 15 hrs. per week with a flexible but fairly regular schedule of 10AM to 1PM Monday through Friday. For those wanting to offer more help than 15 hours there may be opportunities to do extra work for travel & food money (no meals provided). We have a need for different types of help at different times - house cleaning, gardening, landscaping, painting, art projects, construction, creative building,...

Howdy, thank you for your interest in helping. The opportunity to volunteer with us is an excellent choice for those looking for a real New Orleans & Louisiana local experience while contributing to the community. It's an easy way to connect with a wonderful group of people and to get to know New Orleans! This is our tenth year to host HelpX volunteers at this location and it's been great! The volunteers have been a big help 🙂. LOCATION Our small Community Center is located in the heart of New Orleans. We are in Mid City only one block off Bayou St John and next to one of the largest city parks in the country. The French Quarter is only a short bike ride away and the streetcar stop nearby can get you to almost anywhere in the city. We feel that we are in the best location for a combination of nature/peace/health and city fun! Restaurants, music venues and grocery stores are in walking distance - some with local and organic options! A weekly farmer's market happens just two blocks...

Permaculture Nursery looking for helpers starting April 18th through October, 2026. Hello!  We're a permaculture plant nursery specializing in rare perennial vegetables and salad greens, along with berry bushes, fruit and nut trees and multi-purpose plants.  We sell plants that we grow from seeds, cuttings and divisions.  We also host workshops on edible landscape design, and give tasting tours of our demonstration gardens.  We're looking for 1 or 2 Wwoofers starting July 6th (or thereabouts) for help with potting up plants, planting gardens, weeding, watering plants and mulching gardens (among other exciting tasks!).  We're building a farm by hand: there are no machines in use (besides an electric lawn mower).  We're passionate about sustainable living and have extensive experience designing food forests and tinkering with various appropriate technologies.  You'd have a private room in a newly renovated old farmhouse, with shared access to the kitchen, living room & bathroom. This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic. We are passionate about agriculture, surfing, music, travel, nature and the environment, who want to create a communal space where people from around the world can come to learn about sustainable living and ecological ideals; share delicious organic food from the gardens; surf; tell stories; share knowledge, ideas, culture and language; learn about farming, the environment, or just relax and enjoy the farm and surrounds. The project is in its early stages and we are looking for energetic and responsible individuals wanting to experience and contribute to rural life and communal living close to nature. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us out with daily tasks such as helping in the kitchen, kee...

Townsville is a tourist hub, with access to beach, mountains, reef, rainforest and bush. Cranbrook is a leafy suburb across the river from the university, close to Riverway (free freshwater swimming lagoon, with art gallery) and shops, and on the bus route. There are large trees around my house, and there is always gardening or raking to do. My mother lives in a house 3 minutes away, and I help her with her garden. Accommodation is a granny flat with a powder room attached. There is a fold out double couch, plus a single bed mattress if required. You will share the bathroom and kitchen - in exchange for gardening, maintenance, painting, cooking or housework. Must love dogs - my dogs like to oversee human pursuits like digging, weeding and walking. I can assist with transport to local hiking spots, beach, or parks, or can pick you up from train or bus station. Prefer helpers who are non-smokers with family-friendly values, and able to work unsupervised when I go out. Also, To...

I am looking for crew to join on my current sailing journey from the Sunshine Coast to Lizard Island aboard my 13 metre sailing catamaran. They will have Telstra or Starlink internet access for the journey. Crew will have their own cabin and bathroom, and may be asked to contribute to food provisioning for the trip, and will supply their own alcohol/beverages. They will participate in the full experience of sailing the yacht, doing shifts on watch etc, and will assist with cleaning and maintenance of the vessel. You will participate in many adventures along the way, with many opportunities to explore beautiful beaches and islands, swimming, snorkelling, fishing, Stand up Paddle Board, Crabbing, trolling, visiting Coral reefs and Cays as well as Great Keppel and the Whitsunday Islands. Meals will be cooked onboard either by myself or the crew if they would like. There will be a lot of opportunity to cook local seafood caught while we are travelling and in various anchorages. We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM EARLY APRIL.. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. CURRENTLY SEEKING A COUPLE, single male or female from around the 18th / 19th April 2026 onwards, but please feel free to ask if you have some availability either now or in the future. A MINIMUM COMMITMENT of at least one month is required please. It takes about 2 weeks to settle in and learn things plus shorter stays do not allow you to fully experience all that is on offer in our beautiful area. Katie and I own a small crofting home in the rural heart of the Scottish West Highlands in a tiny village called Lochailort and we need help all year round. A good understanding of the English language is necessary. This location is not ideal for improving or learning English, as interaction with us and others can be limited. We are always looking for willing, reliable, pro-active, self motivated and enthusiastic volunteers :) Please whatsapp our mobile number or leave a message here if you are interested in a placement with us. We are particularly keen on couples with the male having some...

Come get your Boots Dirty! Ever wondered what life on a real Aussie hobby farm is like? Gallaway Spring is an 88-acre playground just 58km northeast of Perth, perfect for travellers and backpackers who want a taste of rural adventure. I'm Chloe, and I work for St John WA in administration, keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes, my husband Wade, runs a small earthmoving business and keeps the farm (and me) grounded. Together we run this little slice of paradise with a lot of love and many laughs. Meet the locals: 37 dapper Belted Galloway cattle (the Kardashians of the cow world), 2 classy Thoroughbred horses, 1 fluffy alpaca, 1 tiny troublemaking goat, 1 chubby sheep and the undeniable superstar of the farm – our Blue Heeler, Max 🐾 We often need an extra set of hands with: Fencing, gardening and weed wrangling, Feeding the animals, and random farm adventures and off jobs that aways pop up. What's in it for you?: A cozy, fully furnished 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom farmhouse. Fi...

Hello Helpers! We are Deborah and Malcolm: artists and retired art and design lecturers. Our home is surrounded by a beautiful garden with fantastic sea views in a quiet residential area of Torquay on the English Riviera. One photograph shows the view from our home overlooking the sea of Lyme Bay, with other photos of our garden plus a 'Hello' photograph of us. For many years, we were a host family for students learning English at local language schools and we enjoy teaching visitors about our language and culture. We have enjoyed hosting Helpers from across the world through HelpX since 2023. Torquay is in the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, a beautiful area of interesting geology with the caves: Kents Cavern, just under the hill from our home. The South West Coast path, Babbacombe Cliff Railway, Torre Abbey, Torquay Museum with an Agatha Christie Gallery and Cockington village and craft centre are easy walking distance from our home. You are welcome on our permaculture family homestead in the green hills of Croatia! We are looking for nature lovers who want to learn all about setting up a sustainable and self sufficient life in the countryside. People that can stay for 4 weeks or longer, or even want to stay "forever" in a nice spot on our 12 hectares. Your first week will be a practical permaculture and sustainable living course from permaculture teacher Barbara Scheltus. After this week you can stay for another 3-99 weeks as a volunteer, and go more in depth with the subjects that interest you the most. We live a simple, healthy, holistic lifestyle as practical realists. We use permaculture principles to develop our terrain and our life. We care for the earth, for the people around us, for the future and we like to share our abundance with you. Our vision is to grow our homestead into a community-village in an edible landscape. We are growing a village so that together we can live more self sufficient/inde...

Hi, I am a 49 year old mum with my daughter (20) at home. We are looking for short term guests (1 week, negotiable after the first week) who require a place to stop over whilst travelling. We have 1 queen size bedroom available and look forward to meeting people from all around the world. Although we don’t have any pets, after the loss of our beautiful Rottweiler, we also do dog sitting occasionally, so must not be allergic to dogs and be ok with all breeds being around when we look after them. You must be able to speak English, as we only speak English and the language barrier is awkward and hard to really get to know you :) We are generally looking for people to help out with all aspects of housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, small landscaping jobs, general tree maintenance, general outside home maintenance, pool cleaning and maybe some painting. 3-4 hours of work a day will be required, which must be completed in the mornings. Smoking is permitted outside only, no additional guests ...

I have a small ecotourism guesthouse and traditional harbour dock house property in north Norway. This place is my grandparent heritage and it means alot to me, but it is also alot to take care of alone. I have made it into a nice guesthouse to share it with others, and to be able to maintain the historical buildings. As spring now is starting I am looking for help to prepare for the summer season, especially during March, April and May. Maybe you are already somewhere near and can come in short notice? This spring there is outdoor walls to paint, a garden to rescue, smaller building projects, wooden boats to prepare for outing, and rooms to reorganize. I am hoping to be a small team to take part in everyday shores and help out where needed. My guesthouse has the sweetest rooms and a nice summer café. In the dock house we sometimes have concerts and a bar. We have a big quay, historical buildings, and heritage boats. To have volunteers helping out over the years, has been a very...

Howdy. It’s been great hosting with HelpX and having the opportunity to offer local cultural experiences to friends from around the globe!

There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Im trying to realize my dream, devoted to permaculture and natural architecture on the 25 decare land we purchased in 2021, where there are pine forests and natural water resources, and where natural life is happily alive. My biggest dream is for my daughter and other children to grow up together in a healthy soil, poison-free tables, on a farm full of happy animals, in a community where our friends and guests contribute. We continue to take slow but beautiful steps on the path we set out with this dream, with the efforts of our friends and volunteers who contribute to us. I will be glad to see you among us I have camping tent, large tent, rv caravan, geodesic dome hause for our volunteers and guests to stay. You can also stay here with your own tents and caravans. We have a common area for shower and toilet. We can cook and eat our meals together during the day, and we will also respect your preferences. Also, To...

The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, a post off...

Totnes and the cities of Exeter and Plymou...

Our volunteers have an awesome time, with lots of really great home cooked food and fresh produce, and use of our guest facilities such as our commercial Coffee Machine, horse riding, hot tub, fully equipped gym, pool, outdoor adventure activities, zip lines, basketball, volleyball, scenic lookouts, bonfires, etc. We are located in a beautiful setting surrounded by over 20 thousand acres of National Park, and have lots of native animals on site. We are a non-profit Christian camp & conference centre located just 2 hours south of Sydney on 300 spectacular acres in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW. We have been established for over 30 years. Each year we host camps for schools, scouts, youth, church and community groups. Several thousand guests stay here each year, and we often have volunteers staying with us who often stay friends for life and come back again and again.
