At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! Watch our YouTube video below, about our community and us, made by the very talented helpxer, Louie Ablett. Three of us live here now, myself 74, David 84 and Sue 64, who started as a WWOOFer and has moved here with the help of a voluntary activity agreement through Centrelink for over 55s'. Sue came in September 2019 , lost th...

Pierce is originally from Ireland, travelled much of Europe as a HelpX volunteer, Couchsurfer and hiker. Cecilia - Portuguese, spent time traveling doing similarly in past. Now we have settled in Mira de Aire, on the edge of the Serra de Aire e Candeiros nature reserve, in a little house with a garden. And recently have reached the stage that we can host guests :D We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 3 hens and various regular animal visitors to the garden. Type of work to be done: - general DIY to improve the home - gardening, planting, making new beds - helping at home (cooking/cleaning) - playing with, walking & tiring out our dogs We try to do all things with permaculture ideals in mind - but we're pragmatic about how to do things. You'll have your own contained space in the 'wee house' with its own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. All mod cons - hot water, electric, WiFi, cooker fridge etc We prefer if volunteers help with the cooking and general tidying - we will not be your chef :) ...

Just a peaceful place that needs some t.l.c. every once and a while, like gardening, creating and cleaning, cooking depending on the weather. Were a couple and we love to hear about what's happening in the world, from different perspectives.. Were not traveling at present, so this is the next best thing.... having someone in a tiny home, helping, sharing and learning. . .. I love dancing, music, and arts which is included in our home environment. Riding motor bikes, or a little game of table tennis, creating trails, riding on the bicycle trails, hiking, swimming, & watching sun sets. Never boring around here for me, I am in the process of becoming more self sufficient, planted many trees. Created gardens, wanting someone who loves being in nature, needs/wants growing time on there own. I want a caretaker of the land. Also sharing together, I'm going to school this coming year for Feldenkrais (ATM) so I want some one who wants to explore in the back yard of dirt. The more alive our...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Also, there is an private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. .

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Distillery and farm located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Surrounded by wildlife, rivers, lochs (lakes) and mountains. A truly special place if you love nature and the great outdoors. Ebikes for you to explore the local area and mountain trails. Plenty of varied and interesting help tasks from help with housekeeping and foraging, to various DIY projects and help around the properties. You would have your own accomodation, a beautiful small and very comfortable cottage with wood burning stove and no need to share accomodation with others. Strong wifi etc.. This is an area steeped in history from over the last 3,000 years when the Pictish kings lived in the glen in a fort that still stands here to this day, through a rich history in the 1700s through to present day. We have a loch for fishing and would be very keen to show you the distilling process and for you to join us on hikes and other local adventures and explorations. The Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis are often...

My name is Boudani Abidine. I live with my family in a small town called Tagounite in the southest of Morocco. We have an organic farm. It dates back to centuries when my grandfathers settled down in the Daraa Valley. We were nomade family. The farm is a beautiful place for families and pets to spend an enjoyable time. Also, there is an opportunity to connect with nature and soil. It is friendly for the whole family and pets. So, you're welcome to your second home! There is shower and toilet. For the daily activities in the farm, our volunteers can do housework, taking care of children, garden-work and taking care of the farm animals like shepherding and milking etc. We generate our own electrical power using a solar system. There are families who come with a motorhome, truck and vehicles have the option to park in the farm. There is a security-guard for securing trucks, cars, motorhome etc. Volunteers with tents can pitch them in the farm. In the farm, our volunteers can relax, have...

Help with animals and learn about horse therapy at our HorseRiding Lodge - Living in Harmony with horses and nature. We are an association and our work focuses on horse-riding assisted education and in the field of therapeutic riding. We have about 3 ha of pasture available, on which all of our 4-legged friends can be found. From our goats we get milk to produce cheese and other goat products. Our new members in the stable are 4 donkeys to use for therapeutic riding lessons. You can learn horse therapy, participate in training the horses, do horsebackriding by yourself or learn to ride, milk the goats, mow the meadows and make hay, muck out the stable and restore our historic courtyard. Further we would like to restore our farm. Therefore we would be very happy to welcome helpers who like to paint, carpentry and so on. We would be very happy if you can stay with us minimum 1 month or longer. We are located approx. 60 km from Vienna and are surrounded by fields and wine hills. You ...

Our farm is up for sale, so work is lighter, mostly weeding, cleaning, and property tidy-ups. Usually, it’s just you, us, and the animals, so it’s a relaxed, family-style experience. We typically start at 8am or by arrangement and ask for about 4 hrs of help per day You’ll stay in your own private air-conditioned container accommodation next to our home, share meals, enjoy the spa pool, BBQ area, and explore with our e-bikes. A vehicle is recommended as there’s no public transport, Richmond (shops, cafes) is 5 mins away, Nelson 20 mins. We love positive, proactive people, good cooks, and anyone who enjoys sharing food, music, and stories. Check out our reviews below.

We are a family of 3 living on the island of Oleron on the west coast of France. Prune, our baby girl, was born on the 1st of October 2025. We are looking for someone willing to babysit Prune. I had health issues after her birth and I have a surgery planned in December. I need someone to take her to kindergarten 3 times a week as I go to work early. I resume work end of February. Baby Prune is a quiet baby, she is pretty easy to deal with. Experience with babies is required, you have to be at ease with a new born. You will have your own room. We live in a house with a large garden. The ocean is just 4km away, if you love surfing, Oleron is the place to be. Meals can be shared with us. You can use our kitchen to cook your own meals too. David is a landscaper and I am a teacher ( English as a second language and French). There is a lovely cat at home.

I have a house with a 0.25ha garden that is part of a larger community . We are about 10 mins drive, or an easy hitch, from Byron Bay (and all its tourist attractions); Brunswick or Mullumbimby and 2 mins from the beach. I`m always glad of help with my 1/4 ha - projects like building the vegie garden; trimming back the ever enroaching bush, or projects around the house. The arrangement is 2 hours in exchange for accommodation (14 hours a week), looking after your own food but sharing our kitchen. Gondwana, the larger community that Lotus Ponds is part of, is about 50 people with a community house and hall with weekly community dinner and meditations, yoga, table tennis & pool tables with levels of activity that depend on who is here. The people living here change more often than I update this ! But typically are inspired by some combination of Dance (5Rhythms, Open-Floor, Contact); Permaculture; Surfing; Osho; Personal Growth; Cooking; Music and Nature; in the rest of Gondwana ...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. We are a busy family of 5 + two fur babies, living ten minutes drive out of Motueka in a beautiful rural area. Our neighbourhood offers warm community connection, stunning views, safe neighbourhood walks, and nearby river for summer swimming. We ask approximately ten hours a week, with Fridays and Tuesdays being our busiest days. My husband and I work (he full time, me part time) so tasks are mostly centred around playing with, supporting and supervising our three homeschooled children aged 11, 13, 15 and the dog and cat. Cooking, tidying and cleaning, laundry etc and driving may be asked as part of this. We are especially keen for German speaking visitors willing to help the kids learn a bit of the language and practice their skills, and people familiar with dogs and cats and their training and care needs. People familiar and comfortable with busy family chaos are a good fit for us! I We are keen to meet up with helpers in the new year - late January early February onwards. W...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabins and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is an private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our chickens, cats, dogs, one registered...

Help me build an Eco timber post and beam Dance Pavilion in an irish forest Hello my name is Fionntáin, you are welcome to my forest :-) On a south facing slope, my 9.5 acre forest consists of 7200 deciduous trees which were planted in 2001…. a clearing in the middle allows for views to the beautiful mountains...... if you are looking for a peaceful secluded natural environment then this could be the place for you....... please be clear that this is a rustic off grid experience with basic facilities at present, for example outside dry toilet and shower...... temporary accommodation for visitors and volunteers consists of a 3 bed mobile home and a 2 berth caravan. There are only a few of the appliances found in the average european household. I am building my eco home and as part of that i am creating a dance pavilion because i love dancing and music so much.... the pavilion is a jewel in the forest, a dream 🕺❤️💃 a timber post and beam structure surrounded by trees…. the space is n...

Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM THE BEGINNING OF MARCH. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, ...

Update: the festivalseason is almost over, before christmas it will start again for a while. For this time i like to have a handy helper for some toughh work, as cutting trees and taking them to the recyclecenter, as helping me work on the truck as sanding and painting, and help me drive a truck to the beautifyl south of Morocco. So a driving license is necessay and ofcourse a passport (some people who react have none) . And other works! Markets continue. Festivals/markets and house When I'm not too busy I sometimes have (young) volunteers who only work two hours a day and spend the rest of the time vacationing, travelling and/or coming with me to the festivals, in exchange for accommodation and entry to the festivals. This work is staying at home with the little herd of chickens/ rabbits/ cat/ dog/ fishes and take care of the house.. For people who don't want a working holiday and have more skills there are always all kind of jobs. Handyman,, cleaning, tidy up, bringing st...
