PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed ,skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots...

Tena koe, nau mai, haramai ki Tokomaru Bay, a small, predominately Maori seaside community on the East Coast. We live on a four acre lifestyle block in the peaceful Kaiawha Valley about a two minute drive from the village and the beach. There is a 4 Square Supermarket, a cafe and a tavern in the village. We have a room with a queen bed in a sleep out, with helpers own separate lounge/kitchenette. Access to washing machine. The bathroom is inside the main house located a few metres away. Most of the work we require is gardening, landscaping, milking cow, feeding animals, preserving food, servicing our Bed and Breakfast (List 1 Historic Places building) firewood, weed eating, mowing and general maintenance. Jan is a teacher and does some casual relieving and Bill works from home developing Te Reo Maori learning resources for our local tribe and teaches Te Reo Maori one day a week. We think 'whanau' so we like to include you in nearly all of our whanau activities.

WELCOME to the Human Rewilding Project. We are young married couple coming from very different cultures and upbringings. We are living our dream of experiencing what it means to be alive as a proper human being. And that on our own land in one of the most beautiful and wild corners of Scotland. We aspire to become self sufficient in all we need for a happy and healthy life. Our house and the main parts of the croft lie on a hill with a breathtaking view onto Oldshoremore Beach. The view from our living room or from the garden invite for frequent moments of still admiration and gratitude. Alexa grew up on a Finca in the jungle of Costa Rica within her tribe, the Boruca. She was born into a lineage of healers and understands deeply the ways of plants and other beings. She learned from her elders about natural health, herbal remedies and energy work. One of her many missions is to pass on her shamanic knowledge and thus keeping alive her indigenous heritage. But the most important one...

We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, & cat. There is a lovely swimming hole in the river just below the house, and we make our own power. We are off-grid. Our extended family & friends live near by. There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done. We are also currently finishing painting our house. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw & make music with you - Ralph goes for morning walks & we also enjoy playing games & have some great movies:-)

Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, biking & hiking at our waterfront B&B. You'll have your own private room. If you have a valid drivers license, and are staying for at least 2 months you may use one of our cars. This requires a discussion, and is on a case by case basis. Cleaning rooms to our 5 star standard is the primary work. Limited gardening, yard work, helping around the B&B with all aspects of running a home-based business. Must be physically fit to do this. Crewing on our boat is optional if you like it - not everyone is comfortable being on the ocean. Here is what a typical summer day looks like: About 1/4 of our guests purchase breakfast. Kia Ora travellers, we are keen to welcome you to our place. If you have only just arrived and are trying to find your way around then we'd be happy to help you or Ii you are just looking for a little taste of normal Kiwi rural life we would love to host you. We are looking for helpers at the moment. Generally we offer about a week's work but if interested there might be a possibility of a longer stay with some housesitting involved. Meg and I are a young couple (in our sixties), our three daughters have now all left home and are living their own independent lives. We love to have young people around. We will make sure to spend some time with you as we enjoy helping with English, while still leaving you plenty of time to yourselves. I welcome you to my little piece of paradise in a very beautiful and quiet valley. With lots of wildlife, horses, chickens, 3 big dogs, fresh running creek and lots of trees. I have hosted many people since 2012. It was the most wonderful experience and I helped many to stay in Australia as I have a tree farm. All my old helpX helpers have remained friends and we still keep in touch through Facebook from time to time. I have lived here for 16 years and my children have all left home and apart from all my animals it would be wonderful to invite people from all over the world. I can’t travel due to commitments so this would be the next best thing. I would love help with animals, gardening, mowing, slashing paddocks, tree and vegetable planting. Painting, building a new chicken coop and anything else we might think of. I did start a cabin in a secluded spot and would love to continue building it so I can give people a little private place to stay. I’ve lived in France and was bor...

NOTE: Hey! We are back hosting after a long pandemic break. Got skills we can use? Apply for a stay now. It's prime time! Upcycling, landscaping, building, ecological projects and more inside/outside near Montebello, QuĂ©bec Bonjour! Ici Andre et Daniel. Seventeen years ago, we bought an old reception hall that used to be part of a vacation resort. It was originally a piano-bar when it was first built in 1982. The past seventeen years of our lives has involved a lot of work turning this 2500 sq ft (225 mÂČ) commercial building into our home and our future life project. We haven't quite figured out the life project part yet, but that was the point of us taking a "semi-retired" sabbatical to let it unfold...naturally! As former urban landscapers, we are stoked by the challenge of greening up a larger space, 5 acres (2 ha) in all with a pure water stream, pond and waterfall. As couchsurfing hosts, we got used to the idea of having company over. When we discovered helpx, the bonus for us w...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of APRIL. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, a post office and a small shop AND...

Hi! We stay in a house close to village amenities and on the bus route to the next town. We have 2 children of 10 and 4, and my kiwi partner works away so its useful to have any help around the house, garden, kids and animals especially the dates whilst he is away. We used to live in Spain before the kids were born so spanish is a bonus. There are several hens, 2 dogs and a new kitten, all rescues. We are a zero waste household whenever possible and do a lot locally and voluntarily with food distribution. We have a garden that would relish someone helping it to look beautiful and wildscape it for the pollinators. We have a polytunnel which has been quite neglected due to lack of time. Get in touch for a chat, we're pretty easy going. We'd love to meet you! If anything missing please ask 🙂

We extend a warm invitation to join us on our farm this spring. We have availability from March into April — a beautiful time of year here, when everything is waking up again and the island feels full of fresh energy. Please inquire for availability during other times of the year. It’s a lovely chance to slow down, breathe, and really feel nature all around you. We’re right by the seaside, so you can live close to the water, enjoy the long light, and settle into the rhythm of rural coastal life. There’s always plenty to learn and experience here, and we’re delighted to welcome helpers who enjoy great scenery, good purpose, and a peaceful place to land for a while. If the timing suits you, we’d be very happy to host you and if you already have some farm experience or any prior experience with ponies/horses we especially welcome you! We look forward to warmly welcoming you! *** Availability in March*** We welcome everybody howev...

Spring March 15th, 2026 Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this winter with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and all other photos are of my hou...

Kia ora Helpxers, We invite you to come and be our Helpxer/s and enjoy our wonderful, warm and sunny location with a spectacular view of Tasman Bay. Our place is just 7km from central Nelson. The Nelson Tasman region is a very popular region for travellers, with access to the Abel Tasman National Park being just over an hour away. From our place, you can ride the bicycle trail into town, taking about 20 minutes, or there is a bus stop not far away, or even better, if you have your own transport. We designed and built our own passive solar house, constructed from Adobe Earth Blocks, a sustainable and eco-friendly method of building, using local materials such as clay and straw. It keeps everyone cool on the hot days and warm and dry on the coolest! Our preference is to host you for up to one week or more if it suits. We ask for four hours helping out each day, but are flexible for longer days, so you may like to take a day or two off to explore our beautiful region. We have a few p...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. We are happy when someone shows enthusiasm for the garden because this is a central part...

We need volunteers for lambing season until end of May/beginning of June. Come help us lamb all of our sheep and experience the wonders of life! Assist over 500 sheep in giving birth and bottle feed tiny little lambs and all the other disgusting and cute things that go along with it. Lambing season is hard work and we work in shifts of 8 hours, but with 7-10 volunteers living in the house you’ll have time for fun in the sun, 2 days off each week with a household shift (cooking and cleaning). Lambing truly is a once in a lifetime experience and a great opportunity to learn about farming, sheep, and Iceland in general. The shifts are long, the days are longer, but a rewarding and satisfying experience is waiting for you! You can of course text even if you're available another time of the year ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message (here, on WhatsApp or Instagram caroline.lsgt). You can also message Beggi (the...

It looks like we are full until at least June but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop an...

Kia ora HelpX ers, We are a retired couple offering our one-acre property on the edge of New Plymouth, a vibrant coastal city nestled in the heart of Taranaki, New Zealand. Famous for its dramatic backdrop of Mount Taranaki, New Plymouth is celebrated for its public art scene, lush gardens, and seamless blend of urban culture and outdoor adventure. Highlights include an 11km coastal walkway, a bustling cafĂ© and restaurant scene, beaches, the sweeping 52-hectare Pukekura Park, and much more. Tucked in the countryside yet just 5–10 minutes from suburban amenities and the CBD, our property is a work in progress in the best possible way. We are developing our outdoor spaces, growing our own food, establishing a food forest within our existing orchard, and building vegetable gardens guided by permaculture principles. It is an ongoing journey with plenty still to discover, and we would love the help of enthusiastic hands around the house, but mostly the garden. We have no animals at present...

West Coast Canada Experience - position open now Purpose built oceanfront B&B with 3 private self-contained studio suites on the 2nd floor of our home which is on the first floor. On those mornings at 7:30 am we're in the kitchen preparing breakfast. 8:45 - 9:30 serving breakfast to guests and interacting with Q&A and booking a few excursions....

Our home is on a lovely quiet rural property with a stunning view of Ohiwa Estuary, less than 10mins from Ohope (in the beautiful Eastern Bay of Plenty) and Whakatane (famous for trips to White Island although due to tragic events these trips are not...

We have 4 bedrooms for travelers and helpers in our guest house available for you (can accommodate probably up to 10 people) and there is also a game room, swimming pool (in the summer) and basketball court on the property.

Downstairs my Ceramic Studio, often in need of some "housework ". The things we need help with are ( according to the season) mow the lawn, pruning, collecting and chopping firewood ...but also rebuilding some order here and there, harvesting olives in late October, clearing, cleaning, painting, repairing, reinventing spaces and so on. In summer I am also engaged with the Thermal Park "Bagno del diavolo", together with friends we organize things over there and might need help with the pool and spaces around We cook creative healthy meals without animal products, but for some eggs sometimes Usually - as a guest- you have a self contained room (photo), but w...

After a long break from taking Helpxs (9 years) we are looking forward to meeting new people, it was such a wonderful experience before. We are Sarah (Community shop manager), Wallace (creel fisherman) and Alexander (student). You will be staying in the house as part of the family and you will have a double room with a private bathroom. Barra is a great community and you will be made to feel most welcome. If you are reading the reviews - Anna has now left home - hence the free room and Alexander no lon...
