We live on a small property eight minutes from Kerikeri township. We have a private lake and kayaks are available to explore. This is a farm with a hatchery for geese and ducks, and with a herd of pure friesian cows (28) and beef cattle. We are also involved in research work in the field of animal Welfare / Behaviour / Ethology, working on topics related to incubation in duck and goose eggs and animal welfare. Two apartments are available but with meals and food provided in the main house. The farm is about 5km from the nearby town and approx 1km from the beach. I live in Kuranda, but travel often so plenty of opportunities to see new places. I'm a beekeeper that works between Cairns and Cooktown. This time of year my work is situated north of cairns so there plenty opportunity to explore north were not alot of tourist go. The work involves collecting bee hives for honey extraction and queen bee rearing this gives us plenty of time to explore. In spare time we can go to the local Rivers (Baron Gorge), local swimming holes or hiking. Task also involve house work and gardening. We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. Our place sits high on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of mountains, valleys, rolling hills and city lights overlooking all of Albury/Wodonga, twin cities on the Murray River. We are on the main freeway between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Large luxury cedar and rock homestead on 100 acres. Our property is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island), and includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life and other animals and is great for walking. We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes for the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. Ten years ago, we started a vegetable and fruit garden using permaculture principles based on Linda Woodrow’s methods. We have been growing fruit and vegetables in an organic manner where chooks are part of the garden and recycling and re-using is premium.
