(La description en français se trouve plus bas !) We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

Hello, I live in the beautiful Charente region 16140, and am looking for help with all sorts of jobs, from feeding the donkeys and other animals to painting and helping in the garden 😊 I am slowly bringing this lovely old château back to life after being empty and abandoned for many years. I enjoy growing my own organic vegetables and looking after my animals. I recently planted an orchard and have lots of other projects I'd love your help with. In the past I've shared some wonderful times with helpers, many of whom remain friends and have visited several times. In return I offer a comfortable bedroom in the chateau with 3 meals a day, and cooked as much as possible with our fresh produce. I would like your help for 5 hours a day with weekends off. There is lots to explore like little villages and towns and the river. The coast is about an hour's drive away. The Charente river is at the bottom of the garden and there are some lovely walks right outside the door, there are also b...

PLEASE NOTE I WILL HAVE GUESTS HERE FROM MID JANUARY UNTIL MID FEBRUARY. NO OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE HELP.X HELPERS. I'm looking for people to help me in my garden, with house work and some small handyman jobs if possible. I have a lovely garden. I would love a person, or two people, to stay for one week or so, from time to time, to help me maintain it. My house is in a beautiful suburb near North Hobart. You can walk to the city in about half an hour but fortunately there is a bus stop just across the road too because the return walk is steeply uphill! I love having people staying and sharing this lovely place. I would much prefer genuine travellers and people who know about gardening. I would prefer someone who is strong to help me lift things. Definitely someone prepared to get their hands dirty. It would also be good if they are prepared to help with housework, cooking and clearing up after meals. I have an adorable dog and a quiet cat. You will need to tolerate them as th...

Old house with cats, crafts and vegetables garden in Alfeizerão ……………………. I offer accommodation in an old house in a small village, with some rescued street cats. Basic amenities and hygiene, 2 bathrooms, individual or shared room, kitchen access. Washing machine, dishwasher, and 24-hour Wi-Fi. Help needed 5h/day, 5 days/week, in the morning, in between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Near bus stop and 30 or 40 minutes walk to the beach and train station. ………………….. The idea is to take care of the general maintenance of the house, look after the animals and the garden, and assist with crafts. It's important to try to contribute to environmental preservation by saving and reusing water, using minimal paper (especially toilet and kitchen paper), being mindful of energy consumption, and avoiding food waste. Due to being an old house, it may not be suitable for people with respiratory problems, and the water in the bathroom might not always be very hot, but I hope the rest of the stay makes up for these ...

Looking for a single HelpX worker to help with outdoor maintenance, gardening/landscaping and minor building works. Needs to have some experience as a carpenter, builder or small rennovations work in a previous life! Start immediately, would prefer stay to be 1-2 weeks. Good command of the English language. As a courtesy please if you confirm you are coming then I will book you in. I am having too many casuals saying they are coming and then do not show up which has put our work way behind schedule! We are located on the outskirts of Auckland in a rural area, opposite a pine forest which is great for outdoor pursuits such as walking, biking or horse riding. Within the surrounding area are a number of local wineries and the beach (surf school & horse riding). We are 5-10 minutes drive to local villages, and 15 minutes drive to a main shopping area. We are 30 minutes drive from the city of Auckland, in non peak-hour traffic. Suit HelpX with a car, although have access to a car if needed...

We have availability to help Marcus with his native tree propagation work onsite for one week stays. Looking for those who appreciate 4hrs of daily work alongside us as a fair exchange for wholesome meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner provided + seasonal fruit), your own private space, satellite Wi-fi and access to beautiful, private, natural surroundings with lots of native wildlife like wallabies and pademelons. In your free time, volunteers can go swimming, enjoy many of the hikes on and around our property (plus we adjoin 8,000ha/20,000ac of National Park) and meet/spend time with our animals, read , meditate, do yoga/fitness, satellite wifi, watch movies, bird watching, platypus watching...etc. We have a lot of info on our page, mainly so we get the right people applying to volunteer here. The work is usually physical (ie no cute animal feeding - that`s in your free time if you express an interest to Claire), but we offer a very fair exchange for those motivated to contribute ...

Hello open-minded folks! We have quite the opportunity for the right person (or people). I, myself am a long time traveller, chef and musician. I am normally in San Francisco to visit my family for a couple of months a year. The place I stay in the most is my father's house. He is 75, born in San Francisco, grew up during the hippies days just blocks away (there was definitely some crossover) and has been attending the Burning Man Festival for the last 20 years. He is a very good sweet and generous man, that loves showing people around the town he is from, having a beer or two at a bar with friends or eating some good food. He also loves a good game of backgammon and a coffee from his espresso maker. Now, that harsh realities; he has a life-long issue with hoarding, so there's lots of stuff in many places (but not in your bedroom, bathroom or kitchen). He is also starting to experience some of the issues of aging, especially with memory. As a chef, I have a pretty high standard of wh...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

** Currently looking for helpers for July-October 2026 I have a bed and breakfast located in Langeais, a town on the banks of the Loire, and am looking for help to run it and a GARDENER. The sort of help I need includes occasional dog-sitting, serving a simple breakfast, some cleaning and laundry duties, and other general household chores and gardening. If you're interested in more practical jobs we would always appreciate those handy with a paintbrush, but above all the top priority is looking after the clients. If you do not have a car, there is a good train service linking Langeais to Tours, Saumur, Angers and even as far as Nantes. There is so much to see and do in this very beautiful part of France, in particular if you're interested in visiting some of the many historic chateaus in the area. I like everyone to feel instantly at ease and comfortable. There's always a beer, wine or an ice-cream on offer! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

Hello travellers! My name is Liam and I’m looking for some help landscaping ahead of building a sauna on my property. Guests will have their own room, with queen bed, wifi, and located only 15 minutes to Hobart CBD. About me: I’m in my early 30ies and work full time in town. I love getting out there all over tassie, including mountain biking, fossicking, rock climbing, saunas (obviously) and hiking. Closer to home, I enjoy baking, board games and woodworking. I travelled a lot in my early twenties and did a lot of couch surfing, and hosted back here in Aus. I live in an old farm and farmhouse in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a holiday cottage with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and one barn into another. I also had a Yurt (now gone but the pictures are still there !!) and a campsite. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. Skills can range from building, painting, cleaning, farming and general maintenance. Someone with a sense of humour would be great. I enjoy music so you may find all sorts playing, from classical to Genesis, Roxy Music to London Grammar! Current projects (weather dependent) include: 1. tidying toolshed 2. move garden shed 3. create car port I offer accommodation and meals included in return for help normally 5 days a week. After a week I'm happy to give a day tour of the battlefields ... Phone number (what's app) available on request. Easy to find and get to .. .By train leave Paris at the Gare de St Lazare for Cherbourg. G...

A busy 2 hectare block in Earnscleugh/Alexandra NZ that has a small scale plant nursery. We manage the Nursery growing plants that suit our region and are hardy to our environment. This takes up most of our time. We need help with garden and day to day lifestyle block tasks. Plenty to keep one busy with mowing, weeding & tidying. Our Vegetable & Berry gardens are a bit overgrown, & sometimes the seedlings don't make it into the garden on time to grow. We currently have a building project that we need help for. We are happy to teach you nursery tasks such as potting on, growing from seed, cuttings & division. Teddy, Walter & Slinky Bill the cats live in the house too. Sheep and Hens to take care of. You would have your own room in our home. All other amenities are shared. We are located 10 minutes drive from Clyde & Alexandra. We have bicycles for use. We don't get a chance to travel so bring your world to us... So if you love gardening in a relaxed environment this is the ...

I am looking for two or three helpers for a week or two from Monday 12 January 2026. Warm greetings from rural Byron Shire. I have hosted helpers regularly to help me to clear and tidy my sloping one hectare garden, which continues growing vigorously, and with other necessary maintenance tasks around my home. I would welcome a couple or two or three friends to work with me for a week or more in January. No particular experience is necessary, but any practical skills might be useful, and reasonable fitness is needed. I’m happy to share my own skills with willing helpers and will be working with you. Three to four hours of work per day in return for plentiful food and drink, and your own comfortable accommodation in my guest bedroom(s). I live in the Byron Bay hinterland, with my dog Rosie, in quiet country with ocean views and sightings of numerous wildlife. I come from England but have settled in Australia for the past 18 years, after travelling extensively around the world for bo...

Greetings Weary Travellers! I WOULD PREFER HELPERS WHO ARE 25 TO 40 YEARS OLD, PERHAPS, BUT NOT NECESSARILY, WITH SKILLS IN CONSTRUCTION, ELECTRICAL OR ABLE TO HANDLE GAS POWERED EQUIPMENT FOR GARDENING. We are situated on 22 acres with spectacular views of the countryside-just one hour north of Toronto by car and accessible by GO train or GO bus to Orangeville where I can pick you up. There are three bedrooms available to helpers decorated as India, the Mediterranean or the Commonwealth, with two single beds in each (or king size bed) and great views. Each room has indoor and outdoor access. There is a lower room leading to the garden just for helpers to read, view videos and play games. Laundry available as well. Now a picture perfect bunkie for 2 or 3 is available, thanks to the hard work of helpers. Most recently, we have added a small private ZEN room for peace or meditation. There is an indoor salt water pool (available late June to October), pool table, archery, basketball,...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

We are restoring a fabulous castle with 365 windows that still badly need TLC : putty, linseed oil, varnish... April, May, June, September, October are usually fine. July and August are not a time when works can be done at the chateau as visitors are around. We would be very glad to welcome one or two people who are fond of old places and heritage. There are lots of other things that need doing as well. If you like refurbishing, if you are good at clearing up, carpentering, plumbering or gardening... you'll have lots to keep you busy ! We live in the South West of France, the Dordogne, in an area where there is lots to visit and enjoy. We don't actually live in the chateau (so there is some travelling involved) but in town which is nice because Périgueux is a lovely little city right in the center of the Dordogne. You will be able to share our family life with our teenage daughter. We often have our children and grand-children during the holidays. We speak both French & Engli...

Hello Helpxers, I'm look for three or four people to help me on the most beautiful farm I have just bought. Start date as soon as possible. Help needed mainly on the farm, campsite and b&b. I also will be running retreats soon. I would ask for 5 hrs a day of help for 5 days a week. I happy to be totally flexible with how the time is organised. i may ask for specific times for example if I am going to be away for a few days to take care of the animals (at the moment this consists of a puppy and two cats - hopefully this will increase soon!) I'm pretty flexible with how long you can stay but I'd prefer a minimum of two weeks and for up to four months to start with and then see how we feel after that. The property is alcohol and drug free. P check in with yourself if you're okay with that. I'm would love someone who has experience with a chainsaw and building - working with repairing the stone walls to some of the barns - using lime. Also helping with decorating and or gardening. ...

This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic. We are passionate about agriculture, surfing, music, travel, nature and the environment, who want to create a communal space where people from around the world can come to learn about sustainable living and ecological ideals; share delicious organic food from the gardens; surf; tell stories; share knowledge, ideas, culture and language; learn about farming, the environment, or just relax and enjoy the farm and surrounds. The project is in its early stages and we are looking for energetic and responsible individuals wanting to experience and contribute to rural life and communal living close to nature. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us out with daily tasks such as helping in the kitchen, kee...

I love the community feel and cultural exchange that happens thanks to couch surfing and am really excited to host more people via HelpX. You and your stay: I’m happy to host a couple or individuals and could potentially host two couples. We’ll be sharing the space including bathroom and kitchen facilities. I want everyone to feel at home and you’re very welcome to join me on social and weekend adventures, including rock climb...
