Our house is a comfortable 1920’s Bungalow, it is private, sunny and surrounded by bush. We have a big vege garden, chooks and an orchard. We are looking for a practical single or a couple who can garden, paint and generally be useful. We are very close to a very good Cinema and a 10 min bus trip to the city. We are both artists/makers and have only hosted once and that was from a friend’s referral. It was a great experience. We are vegetarian and have wonderful neighbours who we share produce with. We are negotiable about hours/meals provided. Look forward to hearing from you. Have a good day.

Ohakune/Rangataua: Helper wanted for the week 7-12 of April. I need help with prepping a small house for painting, then painting, possibly planting. Ideally you are a handy person and have done some diy before. If things work out there is a possibility of staying longer. Great food supplied, lovely surroundings. Your accommodation is a large barn, beautifully renovated with its own fire, looking straight at the mountain. The location is Rangataua, a rural, quiet small town at the foothills of Mt Ruapehu, close to Ohakune, the most significant ski town in the North Island. 40 minutes drive from the Tongariro Crossing, 5 minutes to Mountain Road to drive up to the Turoa Ski field/ Mount Ruapehu. There are plenty of hiking opportunities, skiing in winter and mountain biking opportunities (bikes available) and many waterholes and lakes to swim in. Lake Taupo is 1 hour away with trout fishing and hot pools 2 hours away. Let me know if this sounds interesting to you. Open to suggestions....

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. If you feel like giving me a hand with all sorts of projects and you're a relaxed good human, message me. People living the van life can be accommodated. Anyone who has their own bed basically. The location is stunning and magical. It's very private. It's located 200m, as the crow flies, above the village of Rubite. +++ The property consists of 20 hectares of land. For the last 8 years, we have restored the house and have started restoring the land as well. We are reforesting slowly but surely! We are applying a mixture of permaculture, syntropical farming and common sense. Trial and error. Full enthusiasm and dedication. There's always lots to do. Building, gardening, painting. Creatives are most welcome. We like to live life free of stress and drama. This is the atmosphere we like to maintain. It's an amazing place with beautiful sea views, 1000m above sea level. We love and respect this land very much and don't use any chemicals on and off our land. Anyone coming over needs...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. Hi, I am a 49 year old mum with my daughter (20) at home. We are looking for short term guests (1 week, negotiable after the first week) who require a place to stop over whilst travelling. We have 1 queen size bedroom available and look forward to meeting people from all around the world. Although we don’t have any pets, after the loss of our beautiful Rottweiler, we also do dog sitting occasionally, so must not be allergic to dogs and be ok with all breeds being around when we look after them. You must be able to speak English, as we only speak English and the language barrier is awkward and hard to really get to know you :) We are generally looking for people to help out with all aspects of housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, small landscaping jobs, general tree maintenance, general outside home maintenance, pool cleaning and maybe some painting. 3-4 hours of work a day will be required, which must be completed in the mornings. Smoking is permitted outside only, no additional guests ...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome - to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent, mature helpers who have work & life experience. I work at our local...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

We live on a semi rural farming property of 52ha overlooking the Waitemata harbour with views of Waiheke, Rangitoto and the Skytower, 30 mins south east of Auckland City. We are two minutes from the beach and there are several walks and cycling tracks nearby. We mainly farm sheep and also keep bees. You would be living as part of our family and are welcome to join in with any social events and activities, in particular fishing and boating. We have 3 adult children, and three grandchildren as well as three dogs and a cat. As a family we all enjoy meeting people from different cultures and forging connections with them and now have lifetime friends around the world. You can help us with gardening, landscaping, painting, building bee apiaries, planting natives (Autumn) and general housework and maintenance. It would be for a maximum of 4 hours a day which will leave plenty of time to explore the local area.

Sorry, no vacancy right now. Currently full. Later on we shall require help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, upgrading a dinghy to fit a roof and remote steering, repairs to trailer and for help with early morning gardening, housekeeing, cooking and dog walking on the beach. Regarding the DIY and timber work, our next vacancy is likely to be in March when it is cooler. From then on, we shall be looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, with some experience in working with wood, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! šŸ˜‰šŸ‘. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings are beautiful. Much of the work, in addition to the above, from March on, will be outside; ...

Our 164-acre ranch is located halfway between the Pacific Coast and the Rocky Mountains, right on a beautiful wilderness lake in the Nicola Valley. We lie in the heart of British Columbia’s big Ranching country and are surrounded by vast forests, rolling hills and boundless prairies where beavers, bears, moose and pumas still roam. Even a small herd of wild horses calls the area around Glimpse Lake their home. As "Private Cowboy and Country Club" we are offering services like property maintenance, boating, fishing, restaurant/bar, accommodations, etc. to our Ranch Residents and members only. Summer or winter, there’s always loads to do with a small herd of Black Angus cattle, miniature goats and chickens like mucking out and maintaining stalls, paddocks and fields. Calving season is particularly busy but also a very heart-warming time of the year with help needed caring for newborns and on occasion bottle feeding them. However, you do not need to have experience with animals to vo...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM EARLY APRIL.. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, a post off...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

Hi, I’m Jo and I’ve created a small urban food forest in Coromandel town, based on permaculture principles. I’m looking for someone to stay for a few days (usually 3–5 at a time) to help in the garden and around the house. Tasks might include general food forest maintenance, light gardening, window cleaning and general housework. The exact length of stay will depend on how things are going and whether it feels like a good fit for both of us. I live in a small house and you’ll have your own bedroom with a king single bed. We share the bathroom and toilet. The house is right in Coromandel town, walking distance to shops and just a few minutes’ drive to the beach. In exchange for around 4 hours of help per day, I offer good food, a relaxed environment and friendly company. I share my home with a small dog, a cat, four chickens, two budgies and a turquoise parrot, so animal lovers are very welcome. Looking forward to meeting you, Jo

The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

I live in a large house in Veyrin, a very very small village, in a very nice countryside in France, 90km East of Lyon, not fare from the Alps. GenĆØve (Switzerland) is 1h30 driving. I'm looking for non-smokers helpers, who could help me 4h/day in my organic vegetable garden or helping me to welcome holidaymakers and pilgrims in my gite. You will have your own bedroom. The common kitchen is to be shared with everybody. The food is vegetarian. I can speak English. If you are sportive we can lend you a bicycle to visit around. The first town is 12km from Veyrin. I have a cat. I don't accept others pets. Please contact me if you want more details. You can also have a look on my website via link below. Looking forward meeting you.

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...
