Hi, my husband and I live in a beautiful area on a lifestyle farm with our four young kids. We are working on setting up a sustainable lifestyle and there's always something to do! We have beef cows, a milk cow, sheep, goats, chickens, a couple dogs and a producing greenhouse. Would love some help with homesteading, ongoing projects, property maintenance, gardening, and help around the house. If you like your exercise there's a walking track to the top of our property with stunning views at the top. Swimming hole at a beautiful river 5 minutes down the road. Accommodation provided in our family home. You will have your own upstairs sleeping area and a separate toilet. Three healthy meals provided for 4 hours work. We look forward to meeting you!

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local Landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. The current to-do list includes building a roof in front of the chicken coop and another in front...

I usually live in Australia with my husband but have returned to Japan to look after my 100-year-old mother at her house in Yokohama, an hours drive south of Tokyo. My husband will soon return to Australia as the fire season is approaching and there are dangers for our house in the forest there (see BLOG and WEBSITE). With only me looking after my mother it is quite intense as I can get little rest, and according to my mother's doctor, the intensity will only increase towards the end of the year. I worry I will have trouble in the future getting out to do shopping and even my own medical appointments. There is a constant flow of medical professionals coming to the house (nurses, doctor, physiotherapist, dentist, masseuse and social worker), but this does not give me a break as it is important that I am present and alert absorbing any developing insights. Given: i) very positive experiences in Australia with HelpX helpers (see reviews in the WEBSITE), and ii) the fact that the top fl...

My old farmer house is a peaceful retreat with a true spirit of Alsace. Nestling in a small village: Birlenbach - near the German border. I`m german woman and I live in my house and the garden with my two cats. In summer I rent the house to guests and stay in my summer-rooms, so I have in this time not a separate room for helpers. But I am happy when helpers come after sept. 2023. I am a very creativ old woman and I enjoy a good cooking for my summerguests, my friends and also for my helpers. I need them for not too hard works 4 hours daily: they help me in the garden and the house and it`s good if they can do small renovations. Location: northern Alsace next to the Vosges Mountains. 11 km: German border 55 km: Strassbourg next trainstations: 10 km: Wissembourg 8 km: Soultz sous Foréts Languages: german and not very good english

I recently bought a 46 foot sailboat that is undergoing a mini refit. I am very experienced after 27 years sailing in the Caribbean and Bahamas. Getting on in years now so would be good to have some younger muscle on the boat. Come for a day or two or longer. Depends on how we get on and what sort of time you have for an adventure. There is always maintenance on a boat of this size, so life is an endless procession small projects.Usually work in the morning and have the afternoons off. Love a good laugh, so hopefully you have a good sense of humour. The boat is in Auckland at a very nice marina. Access to the city by ferry. There is free parking if you have a vehicle. I recently took the boat to Kawau Island in a very strong SW wind. Great sailing and doing 8 and half knots at times.

Our next availability is from the start of September. We are looking for a *female* native French speaker who is good with children. Tasks will include looking after our children while teaching them French, housework, helping to prepare our Airbnb accommodation and farmwork. For September and October, we could host someone who is not interested in helping on the farm. Our preference would be to host someone who could stay for at least 2 months. 🐑 🐎 🐑 🐎 Helpers will work for 6 hours per day 5 days a week in return for food and accommodation. 🐑 🐎 🐎 🐑 Our farm is in the north-west of Ireland, in County Sligo. As well as horses and sheep, we have two alpacas, a pig, two dogs, two cats and some chickens! 🐎 Accommodation will be provided in a mobile home on the farm. Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Hello Welcome to our listing. We hope we can provide you with a positive experience whilst you stay with us and help with our various projects. We would prefer a couple, or two friends but a single person is welcomed to apply too, who can help with looking after our home and garden... What we are looking for at the moment is some help with cleaning, cooking, gardening and general DIY as we will be doing quite a bit of renovating our cabins. We have space now for a minimum of two weeks up to 5 months for the right people. A bit about us: We are a family of 4 and Brew our cat (this includes a new baby who joined us in November last year.) with other adult children popping in from time to time. We are living in a beautiful part of Devon, at the edge of fields and stunning views but very close to Totnes, one of the most alternative towns in the UK. We are involved in holistic work with families, from pregnancy onwards. In exchange for 15 hours of work a week per person w...

HAPPY SUMMER 2026 Things have been moving along, slow but meticulously! It feels good to be making progress and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel…on my sailboat. I am taking some time off until late July and then begin working on my sailboat again. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities; a lot to do, at any skill level. Many projects take only 5-30 minutes to explain and easy for someone new to do the specific project well. Other projects require knowledgeable skills and other projects necessitate someone that has a fair amount of specific experience. Anyone that volunteers on my sailboat can join me sailing once my boat is back in the water later this year or at some other point in the future! I anticipate my boat will be back in the water by mid to late Autumn. If this interest you, or you have questions, contact me through HelpX or call me direct via my mobile phone (also WhatsApp number). Below is a list of some of the projects I hope to complete ...

Currently looking for help from now ... If you are looking for a host and have horse experience we’d love to talk to you :) We are a friendly British family living on beautiful Vancouver Island, we have 3 horses, some of which are ridden all year round (weather permitting), we also have dogs and barn/house cats. We are a short distance to fantastic trails to hike or bike, a 10-minute drive to the ocean and the cute little town of Qualicum Beach is 10 mins away. We could do with a hands-on person for a while, need help with yard work, weeding, gardening and some general maintenance around our small acreage. .. Opportunity to help with the horse's, walk the dogs etc, must be positive and pro-active. We have 2 grown up kids … Molly 18 and Oliver 22 ( not really kids LOL) ... Generally have a go at everything and be part of our family for a while .... YOU MUST BE SOCIABLE, FRIENDLY, show initiative AND BE UP FOR A LAUGH :) This is a way of life not just a job, if it needs doing we do it...

Howdy, thank you for your interest in helping. The opportunity to volunteer with us is an excellent choice for those looking for a real New Orleans & Louisiana local experience while contributing to the community. It's an easy way to connect with a wonderful group of people and to get to know New Orleans! This is our tenth year to host HelpX volunteers at this location and it's been great! The volunteers have been a big help 🙂. LOCATION Our small Community Center is located in the heart of New Orleans. We are in Mid City only one block off Bayou St John and next to one of the largest city parks in the country. The French Quarter is only a short bike ride away and the streetcar stop nearby can get you to almost anywhere in the city. We feel that we are in the best location for a combination of nature/peace/health and city fun! Restaurants, music venues and grocery stores are in walking distance - some with local and organic options! A weekly farmer's market happens just two blocks...

Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. We have good beaches and nice walks. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village. Check out our website if you need public transport and you can message us anytime. GENERAL INFORMATION We grow most of our own vegetables. We make compost and use animal manures as fertilisers. With winter we action a great progressive project to plant and regenerate areas with hundreds of native trees. Creating windbreaks, animal shelter, and native bird habitat. Come and join in on a creative and rewarding project. We generally work 4-5 hours a day. We have clean and ...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

We farm sheep and beef in the heart of the Catlins, in Tawanui at the start of the popular Catlins river walk. The farm consists of sheep, cattle, four rideable horses and some coloured pet Gotland sheep along with an array of wild deer roaming the hill. Help will consist of some stock work, some fencing, maintenance of all sorts, gardening, firewood and general helping around the house. Always having fun and a good laugh as we work. I don't travel so its nice to meet people from all walks of life and learn about there culture. If you are keen for some work, and want to meet some locals and enjoy the breath taking Catlins, please get in contact.

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

We are looking for helpers from right now and have space for one or two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we have another couple staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of June we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are Greg and Claire, parents of a 15-month-old baby girl and a very active 10-year-old son. We are non-owner stewards of land that has a long history as a communal farm, held by the Renaissance Charitable Trust since 1977. Our work here is currently focused on forming intentional community, improving accommodation, and restoring the farm that has been let go for many years. All the labour and love that is given to this farm goes towards paying forward the gifts, knowledge, and generosity received from those who came before us and hopefully helping the intentional community become a lively thriving and truly special place. The Community Vision: We are here to create a cooperative way of life that interweaves people with land and one another. By regenerating a small, diverse, and long-neglected farm and by transforming our relationships with ourselves, others, and the land. We aspire to create deeply fulfilling lives for ourselves and a thriving, resilient community that can inspire ...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city.

We are a well traveled couple living on the Tennessee River. We have had visitors from all over the world. We usually have several projects, some very interesting, some mundane.
