🏡 Stay in a Unique Wildlife Sanctuary near Currumbin Beach – Help with Gardening, House Projects & More I’m Deborah, and I live in a peaceful bushland home on the ridge in Elanora, on the beautiful Gold Coast (Southeast Queensland). The property is part of a koala sanctuary — wallabies regularly visit the backyard, and if you’re patient, you might spot a koala in the treetops. You’ll definitely hear them at night! Despite the natural setting, we’re only a 5-minute drive from Currumbin Beach and close to local shopping centres, bushwalks, weekend markets, and iconic surf spots. 🌿 About the Stay: I’ve recently moved back into my home and am still getting everything properly set up after a long and difficult few years dealing with insurance and rebuilding. The house is a work in progress — but a beautiful one — and helpers have always been welcome here. Sleeping arrangements currently include inflatable bedding, and there are still some basic household things being sorted out. Most gu...

We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We also have lots of pine trees both for lumber and also for pine nuts. Cork and pine nut trees are a very sustainable resource as their lifespan is over 200 years and they produce cork and pine nuts during that time. We pride ourselves for being an environmentally responsible farm and we enjoy teaching volunteers and visitors about what we do. We are a Forest Stewardship Council certified farm. FSC is a worldwide recognized organization that certifies socially and environmentally respectful organizations like ours, that harbour and follow, strict guidelines for workers, neighbouring populations and the environment. We are audited on a regular basis. 🌿 Come help on our farm! We need friendly volunteers to join us with cooking, cleaning, gardening, and everyday tasks — no experience needed, just a good attitude and willingness to muck in.We are looking for helpers between the ages of 16 to 32. We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life. In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life. A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers, salmon, sea trout, and sea bass. With buzzards and owls overhead. There are deer in the surrounding woodland. The aim for our farm is to give the land back to nature and at the same time create an organic food source that we can freely ...

UPDATE: NEW VACANCIES..... Up to Dec 23rd 2025 Then January 10th (2026) onwards Horse and / or garden help welcomed. Its time to put the garden to bed for the winter, so it's a matter of clearing, tidying and a bit of pruning. I've had a series of really excellent helpers, so if you think you're in that category, especially in terms of horse skills, then please get in touch. If you'd appreciate some rural time, away from the rat race, maybe this could be for you! However, you are also welcome to join in my busy social life if you wish to. I am a retired teacher with a love of the countryside, my animals, wildlife, cycling, art, music and dancing. I live in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds in a tiny cottage, in the hamlet of Miningsby on the Revesby Estate. It's very rural and rather isolated. No shops within walking distance, but with pretty market towns just 10 minutes' drive away. Our nearest train station is in Boston, which can be reached via either Grantham or Peterborough. ...

Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We’re a mature couple who work in the city and live on a small farm - a peaceful retreat from the urban rush. Our companions are a few horses and dogs. Most of them came to us from the rescued shelter and in poor condition. With time, care, and patience, we’ve helped them heal. Our farm isn’t a commercial venture; it’s simply a quiet, cozy place to live close to nature. We’re looking for a reliable helper - someone who’s interested in staying with us long-term. What we offer: - Private accommodation in a converted sea container, fully equipped with a gas stove, shower, refrigerator, and other essentials. - Groceries provided - you prepare your own meals. - Free internet access (limited). We can also offer guidance and support with the residency application process for those who wish to stay long-term. If you’re over 25, love animals, enjoy farm life, and consider yourself hardworking, responsible, and adaptable - we’d be happy to welcome you. ...

Update 13 Dec 2025: We need an experienced carpenter to finish building a wooden deck with me. Starting asap. We have a separate little house 2km from our house for Helpers' accommodation in Kerikeri/Bay of Islands. It’s very cosy to live in and on the waterfront. We need help with maintenance of our property (house & garden). This includes gardening, tree-trimming, clean-up, some painting, and a project for a garden pathway incl. a wooden staircase (Carpenters, come on !!! ). Are you interested to be part of our projects? Good command of English or German required. Fishing from our pedal boat, kayaking, swimming and hiking are great as off-work activities here. In 2016 we have moved up north to Kerikeri to a 2+ acres life-style block. Since then we have built a large veggie garden (to enrich our carnivorous diet) and a chicken coop, a tiny house on wheels, a farmers garden and a solar power system. Maintenance and landscaping projects are always waiting for help. We are a couple,...

We welcome 1-2 helpxers anytime. Chores include firewood gathering, gardening, harvesting, cooking, cleaning as well as helping Tim with whatever he is up to in regard to construction, lumber organization or working on the water. The island: Haida Gwaii in the fall & winter doesn't get as cold as other parts of British Columbia, and we often have a lot of mild, beautiful sunny days. November is generally our storm season, but that is also when our surfing picks up, so if you're looking to hit the waves on your time off, fall is the time to come :) Summers are generally mild. The ocean is just a few feet from our front door, so you can often find Marg having morning coffee on the beach or enjoying our beautiful sunsets at the end of the day. We have a recreational forest/beach trail in front of our property. This is a lovely, safe convenient trail for anytime one wants to stretch their legs and take in nature. Your hosts: Tim is a certified faller and a commercial scuba diver...

If you are interested in learning about Nepalese cultures, cuisines, traditions and festivals, then a homestay is the best way to see the real Nepal. By doing this you will be introduced to a plethora of brand new experiences in an authentic Nepalese environment; rich with culture. An additional plus will be the warm and welcoming Nepalese hospitality at its best within our home. We have three members in our family: me (Shanker), my mother and our daughter (Chun Chun) who is 17 years old. My brother Pradeep runs a small money exchange office in Thamel, which is about a 20 minutes direct walk from our home. Our home is located in a very safe and peaceful residential area called Gongabu Town Planning, Gongabu. We belong to the Newar ethnic group, who are the indigenous people of Kathmandu Valley. Newari culture is historically rich and possesses many unique traditions and rituals; one of which includes marrying our daughters to the bel-tree fruit and the Sun. At the same time, you wi...

Hello Helpers! I live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that is also home to one horse (Meg), two small inside dogs (Alfie and Lacey), a cat (Sylvie) and some free-range hens who happily provide eggs for our breakfast. I can offer short stays of approximately ONE WEEK only. Mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, a good work ethic and a good understanding of the English language are preferred. None of the jobs are difficult but you do need to be reasonably FIT and you need to be able to work independently. Non-smokers/non-vapers only please. I've had some amazing helpx helpers that have helped establish the kitchen gardens and some help is now needed on general gardens and landscaping. Depending on the time of the year, some of the tasks you may be asked to help with are: planting trees/shrubs, weeding and mulching garden beds, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/weed-eating). You will have a v...

I live in Ennis, a lovely town that is the gateway to the scenic, nature-filled mid-west of Ireland. Ennis is the capital town of the region and lies approximately midway, an easy journey, between the cities of Limerick and Galway. The town's population is about 25,000 people. We are 30 minutes drive from the ocean and from so many beaches that are long and sandy. All nearby are the world-famous cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and the secret, much-less-known west of Clare which has some of the best scenery in the world, with the wild Atlantic Way, a hiker's, nature-lover's and photographer's dream. Where I live is 15-20 minutes walk to the centre of town. 9 years ago I got a lovely puppy. His name is Luca. Now he's quite mature and when I got him I started with having guests stay as a means of having someone to look after him when I'm at work. It's been a really good experience. I have used mostly workaway and have 30 reviews there so do check me out. You're probably wondering what yo...

My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors, and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect to answer all their questions, pose for pictures, and be invited...

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about us. We are a young family with an 8 year old boy and 10 year old daughter and a small but competitive dog sled and skijoring team. Our property is located on the Annie Lake Road, in the heart of prime dog mushing territory. We are currently looking for a dog handler(s) and helper who would be able to start anytime. Responsibilities include giving excellent care and attention to the sled dogs, as well as odd jobs around the property, and some childcare. Lovely accommodation is provided, as well as many other bonuses. This position would be ideal for a couple or a pair of friends or a single person, ideally someone who has their own vehicle. We would prefer a longer term commitment because there is a lot to learn and you would be working on your own much of the time. Please message us with any questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!

We live in a nature sanctuary on Corfu island in Greece. we are a COMMUNITY of PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMAN BEINGS, who try to live together IN THE SPIRIT OF NATURE. we are organized similar to a zen monastery. yet we are not affiliated to any religious body, but to the holy body of our mother earth. the earth takes care of us. the earth gives to us what we need. she gives us and she for-gives us – she never asks for money… we admire the communities in nature (ecosystems), where all members balance their needs and gifts in a healthy way, without money, without machines and without chemicals. here in NATURE’S SANCTUARY we try to live in harmony with nature. we try to support and protect all our nature brothers and sisters, who share this sanctuary with us… it is a CHALLENGE TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE. it is a challenge to protect and support all nature beings in a way, that they have the chance to live in their own natural born communities. we are looking for people, who want to take...

We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

Totally innovant permaculture site overlooking the Mt St Michel growing a world famous Salad in our productive ecosystem. This includes a small forest garden, lots of seasonal fruit/veg/herbs/nuts and some wonderful animals. There is plenty on as we endeavour to raise production levels of our delicious Salad through "agriculture with integrity" - the agriculture I always dreamed of - highly nutritious bioavailable alkalinising supergreens from a designed ecosystem - from our farm - a tool to help us review the foundation of whats on our plate - this is really exciting - come see! I will happily welcome those genuinely interested so let me know your dates and I will reserve you a room with a view or a more private little caravan with the utmost pleasure! Safe journeying to all - Zoe

This is only the second school in Nagarkot, nice Nepalese village in Bhaktapur district; a 1.5 hrs bus ride from Kathmandu. It hopes to provide an English medium education for underprivileged children. The school has 7 staff members taking care of its 80+ students - aged from 4 to 12 years old - and would benefit from any help volunteers can provide. Volunteers can expect to as class helpers and also share teaching tips with the school if they can. Volunteers can also help beautify the classrooms murals to help the kids as visual aids during their school time. Becoming an independent class teacher is also an option for long-term volunteers as soon as they have a grasp on the school's curriculum and vision for students. Other jobs for volunteers include: - Writing class exercises and homework exercises for students (we have no printing/photocopying facilities) - Designing class quizzes and tests - Introducing interactive, educational games through which children can learn ...

Our farm is in the middle of now-where at the beginning of Swedish Lapland and you can expect a lot of nature, lakes, woods and a lot of wild animals like bears, lynx, moose, reindeers and many different kind of birds. You can help us with training and feeding the dogs, cleaning the kennels. In wintertime there is also help needed with snow shoveling. You should be able to speak English (B2) or German.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

We give...

I live in a small cosy cottage with a glass front fire. It's quite old, I have a huge garden and use it for vegetables and ducks. I need help to maintain it and currently I'm establishing a poly tunnel to extend the growing season.
