Winter is getting closer and after a nice summer enjoying green grass, the last sheep which are in the mountains will have to come back in the barn. So we would need people to help us to feed the sheep and clean the barn after them and of course, pet them! The shearers will come for a couple of days in November so if you want to help us to get the sheep ready for their new winter outfit, text us ! There is also free time to enjoy hot spots and swimming pool to relax! You can of course text even if you're available another time of the year, we need people around all year long ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message (here, on WhatsApp or Instagram caroline.lsgt). You can also message Beggi (the farmer) directly via Facebook (Alexander Flumbri), named after Beggi's cat! Profile picture is of the cat as well (Beggi doesn't have that many hair!)! Where to start? We are a family in the western part of Iceland, a...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Experiment the French countryside in a modern house Hi Champagne travelers ! I’m a Valérie, 60 yo and I live by myself in a modern home in the countryside of the “Marne” 45min away from Reims and 10min away from Châlons-en-Champagne I have 2 adult daughters, one leaving in Sallanches in the french Alps and the other traveling and being a helper abroad, mainly in Canada ! I have a large plot of land around my house, a small orchard and a lot of shrubs and plants. I’ve rented my daughter’s room on airbnb for several years so I'm used to welcome people in my house but as I live alone sometimes it’s hard to take care of the property by myself and that’s why I would be keen on welcoming from time to time some helpers ! I prioritize short stays of 2 weeks - mainly during march, april, october, november. Or cats/home keeping when I am traveling. You would stay on the first floor with your own room and bathroom and we share the rest of the house. There’s Wi-Fi and the television. You would ...

INTRODUCTION This is NOT a hostel, but a personal project aimed to become an educational & cultural spot in the neighborhood. It means, you will NOT work following a set of rules to make profits for a bussiness, but to participate with ideas/creativity/emotions/action to develop a social-aimed venture. Please, before introducing yourself, which is very nice, ask me if the days you apply are available to welcome you. Applications are accepted in order of arrival and mutual agreement :) BASIC BENEFITS - Wide garden, bedroom, living room, little kitchen. They all are simple. Any area is shared. - Breakfast will be provided by the host the work days. However, the lunch and dinner can be cooked in the kitchen by the guest/volunteer/friend. I am flexible to talk about these and other clauses. - You handle to organize your work hours/days. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS - Welcome cocktail or typical Peruvian meal. - Detailed advice on transport or interesting spots in the area or the country (I've...

We are looking for up to 2 people to help feed cattle and sheep, and a handyman that would like to do some building work. We have approximately 2000 hectares of undulating country, situated in the middle of New South Wales. We run sheep, cattle, and do some farming. We run approximately 1500 sheep, which need lamb marking and shearing. With the cattle we have mustering and yard work. We also have daily feeding of calves and lambs. The bee hives need some attention, eg extracting honey, moving boxes around, cleaning area. We also have chickens and turkeys, which need attention daily and working dogs to be cared for. With fencing and building we also need help. We have composting, vegetable garden and fruit trees. When it rains we need help with our grain farming. Currently we need help with cutting fire wood around the property, this will consist of 3 to 4 hours per day and can help get you some pocket money and also experience the land. Hello! If you’re a solo traveler looking for a peaceful, safe, nature filled place to stay, we’d really love to hear from you. We currently have availability from Monday September 7th to September to September 14th and September 18th to September 25th, then from 25th October onwards. We pause hosting from December to February because the heat and humidity make outdoor work uncomfortable — focusing on the cooler months means your stay is far more enjoyable, relaxed, and productive. 🌱 Who We Are We’re Craig and Yvonne, easy going retirees in our late sixties who’ve built our dream life on a forested acreage (not a farm) overlooking Wallis Lake and the Pacific Ocean. We love welcoming curious, kind, nature loving helpers into our home and creating a safe, calm, and friendly environment — especially for solo travelers who appreciate comfort and respect. 🛠️ Your Role (Flexible & Supportive) We’d like you to help us in the mornings, five flexible half days a week, starting early, with ...

Update We would like to have an helping hand now, until the end of September for preparing for the autumn. It will be some gardening and helping Anders with an extra hand for renovation of our master bathroom. Susanne and I, Anders, bought this old school 10 years ago. The overall goal is to finish the renovation of our houses and run a small B&B in the "new school house." We live here on the edge of the Forest, in the nearly 200 year Old Schoolhouse, with our two small Jack Russells Wilda and Freja. We are both retired, but still feel we are just over 25, maybe a little bit more. Our lifestyle is this country life, to follow nature and the seasons. Most of the heavy work is done by now. Almost time to start all over again. Since this is our life, we do as we please, when we please and of course according to the weather. (People make plans and the old Gods just laugh). We try to do a little something every day, preferably visible. We have a grand plan for every season but not dow...

Kia Ora! Welcome! We are a friendly couple with two cats, living on a quarter of an acre. Jarrod works in Logistics and Nikki teaches preschool Montessori. Jarrod and Nikki met on a year exchange in Sweden and have enjoyed hosting students from around the world for over 25 years. This house was the first property to be built on Budleigh Street in the late 60's and was therefore allowed to sit within Shepard's Park reserve, which surrounds us on three sides. We purchased this property several years ago and are slowly working at developing the gardens. (Apparently, Florence, the previous owner, was a tremendous gardener but in the past ten years the garden was given no care and has gone rouge.) Our current projects around the property are; planting seedlings, mulching, and LOTS of weeding the garden. We are working at planting our veggie garden, harvesting from our fruit trees, and creating a path with stones. Long term, would like to develop a 'food forest' and 'tropical garden...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy to show you basis if you are interested. If you want to discover...

For an experience in a farm with horses and dogs, if you love nature and are not afraid of hard work! Here you’ll find silence and peace, and also many splendid places to visit. [UPDATE: We don’t have availability for a position in horse care only. But we have availability for a strong person, hard worker, to help outside with the bush clearing, using the brushcutter, driving the tractor to grind the fields, apart from helping a bit with the animals and the handling of horses. Note that we are very busy during the week, and we can't go and check our emails every day. You might have to wait a bit for an answer. Sorry for this.] We live in a sparsely populated area called Berry located in the center of France between Orléans (60km) and Bourges (50km). The closest city is Gien, 27km away. Just west is the county called Sologne, where nature is all around, though we are at only 2 hours from Paris. East is the Sancerre valley. We are looking for handy volunteers or good riders. Check...

Since 2012, hundreds of volunteers from many countries have helped our projects. We are very grateful for their help and many have become our good friends and come back for a second, third or even fourth visit! In 2020 I started a new project in a town in Northern Ireland. The building is a former back-packers hostel which we are gradually turning into campus. that focuses on peacebuilding education. Our aim is "to creatively and sensitively explore the resistances to peacebuilding - knowing that such resistance can resource transformation". Currently we have work to make firewood and some fencing. Also looking after the farm and animals when we are away on the weekends. We are a well traveled family with 2 children (ages 13 and 15) who live on a lifestyle property between Seddon and Ward in the beautiful Marlborough region. Our children are away for school during the school term so you have the property to yourself during the day and most weekends. We are located 5 minutes drive from Marfell's Beach and offer lots of activities for our guests e.g. fishing, zip-lining, mountain biking. We operate by requesting you complete 4 hours work a day and in exchange we will provide plenty of food and comfortable accommodation. We may ask you to cook on occasions. Please either text or message us with your interest. We offer a fun and friendly home with a separate private sleep out area and bathroom for your comfort, or you can stay in the house in the colder winter months. Internet/wifi is available as well.

Hi. We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a dog and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accommodation, breakfast and dinner(please provide your own lunch and snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found their way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g. 1 or 2 w...

Charles and his daughter, 18 year old Alexandra (Lexi). An English family live on an olive farm on the edge of the Ionian Sea in the Western Peloponnese, 20km west of Ancient Olympia. We have 400 olive trees, which produce approximately 2 tons of olive oil annually. We also produce a large amount of our own food from an extensive vegetable garden. Animals may include chickens, turkeys, sheep, pigs, 4 dogs and many cats. We are looking for help with the olive harvest, from roughly mid-November through until Christmas. After Christmas is the time for general maintenance, cleaning land, rebuilding terraces etc. In return for your exertions, we hope to offer you a unique insight into the lifestyle of rural Greece, the traditional methods of olive husbandry, and especially the food, wine and culture of the Peloponnese. We are sorry to say that we would prefer that you were not vegan or vegetarian (during the olive harvest it is hard to cater for different diets).

Hello and welcome to our symbiotic living project. Our 20 acre off-grid hobby farm is in peaceful surrounds, with river access for swimming and water play; we are within 20 minutes of various stunning beaches, bush walks, Tairua, and Whitianga. We have 2 sheep and 2 lambs, 2 cats, some chickens (and roosters!) and 2 boisterous, friendly and fun German Shepherds. We are always happy to share our land with others. We are slowly transforming our farm paddocks through the addition of native and edible plantings, compost loos, solar showers, deck making and cottage building. We aim to create a magical space for many to benefit from and seek many hands to make light work of our various projects. We are getting ready to re-plant 🌻🌻400,000 sunflowers🌻🌻 that will bloom in January and are working on some cool builiding/planting projects to support this effort. Come spend a few days helping make a permanent mark on the farm! General farm tasks include gardening (there's ALWAYS weeding to b...

We have a lot of visitors right now and can not take any helpx We (Brett, retired carpenter and IT manager, and Mandy, retired glass blower) are a stones throw from a beautiful surf/fishing/swimming beach that is visible from the property and a short walk for amazing swimming. It is one of New Zealands best surf beaches and in a beautiful part of the east coast, the first place in the world to see the sunrise and off the tourist track. Closet town north of us is Tolaga bay, 30mins away with it's famous (in newZealand) wharf and Cooks cove walk which you can also do from our beach. Closest city is Gisborne, 50 minutes away, which is known for growing citrus fruit, surfing and it's (usually) great climate. Our property is nestled in a very small community of 11 houses and in between 2 farms. We all share fruit and homemade preserves as well as fish. Our section is 3/4 of an acre, and full of fruit and ornamental trees with olive trees and amazing views all around You will have plenty...

We are in the hills 1 hour from Perth CBD in a small rural farming community. Our place includes the small town's original Post office (1914) which has a reputation of being the smallest post office in Australia, this is now used as your cosy air-conditioned guest room with a sofa bed. Complete the rustic aussie experience with an outside toilet. NO local transport. You MUST have your own car. Meals and showering (and another toilet) is in our main house. We have a winter creek at the back set in bushland, musical instruments (piano, guitar, ukuleles). Room for vehicles. Singles, couples welcome. We seek helpers for general yard maintenance, gardening to establish veggie beds, weeding, sweeping, cleaning, painting and household chores. You will need to keep your areas clean and tidy. Two hours work is required each day for accomodation, four hours if including meals. We sometimes like to work more on one day and then have a couple of days free. creative technology professional, photographer, and audio-visual artist living in vibrant Amsterdam. When I'm not studying machine learning, organizing local creative projects, or producing music, I'm heavily involved in local sustainability and food waste reduction efforts. My schedule stays pretty packed between university, my creative portfolio work, and community projects, which is why I'm looking for an extra set of hands around the house. I am looking for a responsible, proactive helper who loves animals and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves. 4 hours a day, primarily focused on general housekeeping, keeping the space clean and tidy, and taking excellent care of the cats (feeding, litter boxes, and giving them plenty of attention). In exchange for your 4 hours of daily help, you will receive free room, board, and food. The rest of the day is entirely yours! When you arrive in South Island from Wellington, we can be your first stop. Or in reverse we can be your last stop in the South Island. Join us in our little piece of paradise. We look out over the amazing Mahau Sound. There are kayaks so you can explore the Mahau Sound. You will get a wet bottom but the time spent exploring will make that worth while. At night time it is a short walk to see the glow worms sprinkled along the banks at the top of the drive. Your bed is comfortable, the washing machine is there for you to use, and the food is great. Luna will love it if you throw her stick so she can chase it. There is always something to do here. Among other things, Brian is currently rebuilding the woodshed. I have been busy sorting out seeds and reorganising what goes where in the vegetable garden, once the seedlings are ready. Work in our (very) small orchard is ongoing.

Applications are accepted in order of arrival and mutual agreement :) BASIC BENEFITS - Wide garden, bedroom, living room, little kitchen. They all are simple.

Hello! If you’re a solo traveler looking for a peaceful, safe, nature filled place to stay, we’d really love to hear from you. We currently have availability from Monday September 7th to September to September 14th and September 18th to September 25th, then from 25th October onwards.

I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) You also can use WI-FI connection. We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

The local area is full of native bush, plenty of walking tracks (southern walkway, mt albert lookout, red rocks seal colony), beaches for swimming/snorkelling or surfing, and being close enough to the city to enjoy other attractions Wellington has to offer too. Or check out nearby Newtown for opshops, owhiro bay for Carlucciland minigolf with sculpture walkway, or head to thr cinema at Island Bay. About me and why I host: I was born in the uk and, after travelling around the world for about 9mths, I came to nz on a working holiday visa with a plan to be in Wellington for a week. It has been over 20yrs! My 2 kids are now adults and on their own overseas adventures. We used to host via couchsurfing and love meeting people from around the world and hearing their stories or just chatting in general (I love tea!).

Temp update: Available 4-6 Sept with in house room. At the moment we prefer to host someone with a self contained or semi contained vehicle/camper although depending on the length of stay may be able to provide in house accommodation. We live ~10-15min from Nelson in North Nelson on a lifestyle block in a lovely valley with fantastic neighbours. We have a few animals (chickens, sheep) and lots of garden. We're moving towards focusing on native and edible planting and have a large garden. There is also a community stream care project nearby which we support. About us: Family with children. We speak English and one of us knows some French. Half of the family is vegetarian so we usually eat vegetarian meals. We are a busy family who enjoys outdoor spaces and meeting new people. We do really appreciate guests who are willing to lend a hand as there is plenty to do. If you stay with us we ask that you please... tidy up after yourself, be conscientious of electric/internet/water usa...
