Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. I live in the Hokianga over looking the water to Horeke. This is a 46 hectare dry stock farm with mostly young beef cattle but i also have a couple of milking goats, 6 Alpacas, pigs and two riding horses and have access to a pine forest for riding. I have two working dog, 4 cats and two very friendly very small house dogs. I also have a vegetable garden, enough chickens for nice fresh eggs, home grown bananas and various other fruit if they are in season and ripe. Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. This beautiful little organic orchard is on the Richmond Hills, a 5 min drive to Richmond and 15mins to Nelson. We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. The Humpback whale and mackeral season starts during June/July onwards and we enjoy getting out and catching a feed of fish while watching the whales cruise by ..last season a couple of Wwoofers that stayed here awhile saw at least 50 whales over several trips during the winter ..some less then 10 metres from our boat....we particularly love to host people 25 yrs and over with some gardening, carpentry or physical labour skills to help out around the garden,plant nursery and farm/orchard.. Volunteers can use their time here to sign off for 7 days a week towards their 88 days 2nd or 3rd year visa sign off and we have helped many backpackers secure a second/third year visa as we are registered primary producers in the correct postcode for "disaster relief".
