Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary. Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers. Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, physically fit, want to get your hands dirty and love to be outdoors you will love it her...

I am a retired man from Germany 71 years old, living with my 2 dogs on lovely Orange Garden, West Coast of Peloponese. Most of the work will involve gardening, like planting, pruning, harvesting oranges and olives. Other work includes tidying up the place, general household chores, painting building and maintenance of the 8 bungalows I rent to tourists. I ask for 4-5 hours a day, 1 or 2 days free for your own. Low season helpers can use a bungalow for accommodation. You might cater for yourself or join me for meals. WiFi internet is available. Ideally volunteers would be over 25 years, have some knowledge of general maintenance and gardening. The bus stop is 500m from home, the 70km beach of Kyparissia Kolpos is about 2,5km. See my homepage. I am fluent in German, English and Greek. I am looking forward to your visit.

Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland and to a quiet vegetarian smallholding working towards self sufficiency (I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder!) I’m Kris, I have enjoyed hosting like-minded people from around the world for many years now. Friendships have been formed and from the comments of guests, it's been an enriching experience for me and those who have stayed. It is a lovely environment here, but I would say it is suited to a certain kind of person, so to make sure it’s right for you, please read my description, then let me know if it appeals to you, and why, thanks! (I reply to all personal messages!) The land is around two acres (1 hectare). A small amount is used for vegetable garden, I have also planted hundreds of trees, some of which I am now cutting for firewood to be more energy self sufficient. The woodland attracts a lot of wildlife and in the right weather, it is a joy just to sit and listen to the birds! The house is almost 200 years old, and I h...

Welcome! Our family owned and operated certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is excited to have you stay and become a part of everything we have going on. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, 2 guard alpacas and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! Aside from livestock, we have recently built a small farm store / café that cooks the meat raised on the farm. We also take pride in creating all recipes from scratch, from the sauces to the buns of the burgers. Currently only operating during the summer months, 3 days per week. It’s been a lot of work, but a great way to get more people out to the farm, eating good food and connecting with the community...

In 2006 my husband and me moved from Germany to Croatia with the intention of a simple life in a natural, rural and clean enviroment. A few years ago sadly my husband passed away. In the meantime my mum moved in , so its the two "old ladys " :-) Now i am trying to handle the "farm" on my own. During our life here we have realized how many poor dogs and cats are abonded and we started "picking" them from the street, giving them a shelter and try to find a new home. So one part of help which i need is with taking care of the dogs, which includes providing them with food, water, cleaning the pens and of course peting them. I am looking for people who have a strong work ethic, who see whats to be done, and can clean up after themselves. I also need help with the everyday activities on the farm which vary according to the time of year. Typical tasks include tending the garden, weeding and harvesting. Other seasonal activities include preparation of the garden beds, application of compo...

Help for 2026 needed only until 21 April, we hope to start painting doors, continue bettering outside constructions and there is always general garden and house maintenance. If the weather allows we will be limewashing the houses. Tell us what you can, and we shall see where we could have a good exchange. After 21.4 we will be away until November. This is a real traditional local small farm (Monte) 18km from Grandola, in beautiful Alentejo, Portugal: olive trees (60), orange trees (30), other fruit trees and cork oak. Our vegetable and herb gardens provide us with food. All this surrounded by grazing sheep. There are two main houses, the smaller one (68m², two rooms) being available for helpers. It is cosy and comfortable, with own privacy, kitchen, hot water shower, washing machine, compost toilet. Clean and beautiful. Bicycles available to check out the surroundings or going to the village (5km). Helpers are offered good accommodation (the Gardener’s house with two rooms), a ...

Yassas ! So, we got this little piece of paradise. It is perfect as it is, so what we are about is to just make it more welcoming and playful, have fun while working on it, and all this time keeping it natural and harmonious. It isnt a business, but a playground. And so we gather a small eclectic team twice a year to work the land, its perfect as it is, but there is a vision, a place we can camp and cultivate facilities gradually while enjoying time together, doing, eating, chatting and chilling on the beach. *** The 11th session will take place spring 2026 no fixed dates yet, sometime around may , keep in touch *** The kind of projects we do (an endless list that grows faster than we knock it out) : Always pushing back the rebel wild bramble bush to free more olive/lemon trees from its tyranny, fixing terraces, planting or trimming trees, finish the design of the compost toilet, plant the veggie garden, build a fence, build a new storage door, rebuilding the water feed to the res...

Hello, I live in the beautiful Charente region 16140, and am looking for help with all sorts of jobs, from feeding the donkeys and other animals to painting and helping in the garden 😊 I am slowly bringing this lovely old château back to life after being empty and abandoned for many years. I enjoy growing my own organic vegetables and looking after my animals. I recently planted an orchard and have lots of other projects I'd love your help with. In the past I've shared some wonderful times with helpers, many of whom remain friends and have visited several times. In return I offer a comfortable bedroom in the chateau with 3 meals a day, and cooked as much as possible with our fresh produce. I would like your help for 5 hours a day with weekends off. There is lots to explore like little villages and towns and the river. The coast is about an hour's drive away. The Charente river is at the bottom of the garden and there are some lovely walks right outside the door, there are also b...

This is a small project in a heritage farm house in beautiful Lower Saxony. We are at the moment three people, two cats and some chickens. We speak German, English, French and Spanish. Our house is in the middle of the village, and we enjoy the contact to the people around us. We've got an idyllic yard and sometimes do parties or small cultural events - this year, we are taking a break though to concentrate on some bigger building projects. Otherwise, we cook together, or just hang out. Most of us are working/studying, so you might spend some time alone around the house - or you can go swimming in our local swimming pool, biking or hiking around the village or visit the World Heritage sites in nearby Hildesheim! Help needed around the year would mainly be renovation/restoration, e.g. plastering, painting, maybe some carpentry (as in improving the chicken coop or, if you feel like it, restoring old furniture), but we are also happy if you help with the house work, the garden, or cookin...

We have an organic farm at Oldcastle where we host Wwoofers too. There we have lots of different roles from house keeping to vegetable gardening, foraging, admin, cooking, animal husbandry, sewing carpentry building work etc. Tasks vary and very much depend on ability and skill sets At our location in Dunshauglin we are only looking for help with housework cleaning and childcare and sometimes gardening. We ask for 5 hours 5 days a week. Accommodation in Dunshauglin is in a comfortable apartment beside our home while in Oldcastle it’s in mobile homes. I have started to use Helpx to supplement Wwoofing as we try to have a greater mix of volunteers. Here I’m looking for candidates who have (ideally)been out in the world a while, who are taking a break or are looking for a change. We have had great success with people on career breaks in the past - as an example. Accommodation in Oldcastle is in 2 mobile homes that have a wood fired heating system - this may not suit everyone so a gen...

Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

Like wine? Then you'll like this volunteer experience! We are deep in the heart of the High Penedes (700 metres up), which is located in the Spanish wine countryside, Catalonia. The landscape is home to pine forests and mountain villages, all perfect for Wine Country Bike Tours (we have bikes available for you to use). You have the opportunity to travel further a-field at the weekends - we're 75 mins from Barcelona and 45 mins to the nearest beach - although most place are hard to reach on a daily basis without a car as there is no public transport, but we have internet and fine weather. Work. Our philosophy is work hard, play hard: Your weekends are free to do as you please, and mon-fri you are required to do a combination of work both inside and work outside. We'll make the most of your strengths, and work varies dependent on the time of year etc, so it's best to email first to enquire. As from now, we have availability for up to 3 people able to do any or all of the following tas...

Hi, I’m Danilo, caretaker of a small refuge hidden in the mountains near Palermo, surrounded by the unspoiled nature of Sicily. Our place stretches over one and a half hectares of terraced land with stone walls, olive trees, fruit trees, pines, and two gentle streams flowing through it. You can easily reach us by bus from Palermo’s main train station to the nearby village of Montelepre. After restoring the old buildings with eco-friendly materials, we’re now embracing the principles of permaculture to bring new life to this land. Our dream is to create a place that inspires and unites: a small center for people who care about the Earth, a space to slow down, recharge, and make a positive impact on the Planet. We take care of the olive grove — pruning, harvesting, and maintaining the land to prevent fires, often with the cheerful help of our two donkeys. We gather firewood for the winter, produce honey following natural beekeeping methods, and distill a few essential oils. Part of our t...

We are a married couple. We have been working at improving the old farmhouse we live in for the past twenty years. We are in our late forties but are young at heart:) We have two dogs and a cat. We work outside the home. Looking for help after May 5th for the rest of May at least. Ideally you are open minded, flexible, positive even when it's raining or tasks are challenging. You are independent regarding your free time. You are hard working and physically able. You demonstrate care for the environment by having short showers , using very little chemicals for washing (e.g.by using soap ) and by turning off lights when they are not necessary. You will have your own spare bedroom with wifi access and will share the bathroom with us. There is a couch in our open plan kitchen where you can relax in the evening with a book. Maybe you would like to give yoga or meditation a try with Anne-Marie who is a qualified yoga and meditation teacher. We take our dogs on a walk by car to a nearby...

Hi! 😊 I’m looking for a friendly volunteer to join me in Sweden and help out with a few home-and-life projects — while also having an amazing Scandinavian adventure. 🌿 Where you could stay (3 options!) Depending on when you arrive, there are three possible locations: 1) My countryside villa in the Stockholm archipelago (Vaxholm area) This is the main place — surrounded by nature and water, and only 45–60 minutes by bus from Stockholm city. Even better: you can take a boat straight into central Stockholm in about 75 minutes — it’s one of the most beautiful trips you can do, island-hopping through the archipelago. 2) My apartment in central Stockholm Perfect if you want city life, cafés, museums, and nightlife nearby. 3) My house in northern Sweden — “The High Coast” This area is stunning and wild. In the right season you can often see the Aurora Borealis, and in winter there’s great skiing. ☀️ Summer life is seriously good here In summer, you can enjoy free swimming, canoeing, ...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

We are Said (36) from the Sahara and Linde (33) from the Netherlands. It is our pleasure to meet you here in Project Bani Hayoune Garden! Said comes from a big Amazigh-Tuareg family. After growing up in the Sahara desert and living many years a nomadic life, his family settled down in a village called Tagounite. Now Said lives next to the small village Beni Hayoun, 4 kilometers outside Tagounite. Here, we are working on recovering 200-year old adobe house. Behind the house there is a large garden which needs a lot of care and work. Our aim is to make the land green again, bring the oasis life back and to grow enough food for us and for the community. Linde is an artist from the Netherlands & Denmark and also co-founder of the project. Her past experience includes working in Waldorf kindergartens, creating workshops with children and families in a refugee center, and caring for people in homes for the disabled. While living in the project & house for most of the year, Linde helps in ...

Hello. I’m Paolo, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I appreciate a baggage of life experience that is not too small, so volunteers in their mid to late twenties at least and in t...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. Greetings from Nulu, we are a small young family in search of some helping hands. We grow organic fruit and herbs in our yard and have a rainwater tank. Papayas, bananas, passion fruits and pineapple are all growing well so far. Our house is a little bit of a sanctuary for travelers and we enjoy the company of friends often. We can offer you a room to yourself and some meals for a single or couple in exchange for 2 hours help each day excluding weekends. Help can include gardening, house upkeep, cleaning, food preparation, playing with our 2 young sons or playing with the two dogs. We love music and fruit, weaving and creating and spend lots of time at the local creeks. We are working towards living more sustainably and eventually wish to be a part of a community living together on the land.

****Currently looking for help on the farm for the month of June & September onwards **** I have a small petting farm, B&B and farm shop in the Highlands of Scotland - John O'Groats a bucket list destination for many. I bought the farm in Sept 2016 as a running business, there is lots to do to try to get it where i would like to be long term. Running the farm by myself with only so many hours in a day means any help is really appreciated! There are 2 positions available - one is for a solo traveller. working in the farm shop and helping get the B&B ready for guests. The work doesn't involve the animals on the farm directly but you are of course welcome to spend as much time with them as you like, they love people and are very friendly. A good level of English is required due to being the first contact person for visitors to the farm. The other position is for a couple or solo traveller - this work mostly involves feeding and cleaning all the animals on the farm - donkeys, pigs, goa...

Yassas ! So, we got this little piece of paradise. It is perfect as it is, so what we are about is to just make it more welcoming and playful, have fun while working on it, and all this time keeping it natural and harmonious.

In return you'll have your own room, TV and WiFi and be well fed as we love cooking and baking!

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village.

We live in the beautiful Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island on a five-acre lifestyle block. We are surrounded by bush. We have goats, ducks, chickens and bees. We also have Zeb, our three-legged dog (Kelpie, Australian cattle dog.) We have fruit trees and gardens with vegetables and medicinal herbs. We are setting up a new permaculture food forest. We are looking for mature, practical, self-motivated helpers. The work will be varied depending on the weather and season and current projects. These could include, gardening, scrub cutting, gorse grubbing, cutting firewood, (chainsaw experience would be a help) mulching wood chip for our garden paths, painting, basic building, (fixing the accommodation, my sewing studio and building goat sheds), dog walking, tending to animals, track building in our own bush. In exchange, I can offer education in beekeeping, goat milking, cheesemaking and herbal medicine. We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten free, pleas...
