Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. Now the winter of our discontent is ending, transformed into a glorious spring by this Galician sun; and ....sometimes, the clouds that darkened our home disappear into the deep heart of the flat lands.... So it's time to get to work in the garden and lay cement in some places. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 6 domestic geese, chickens, dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, plant...

The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. I am very passionate about hidden truths and wisdom and always keen to learn and share (if called for) I do not drink or smoke and i prefer vegetarian food but still i m pretty flexible.. During the warmer months me and my crew travel to various outdoor music festiva...

Minimum stay is two weeks. In April we will be working planting and pruning tres and preparing soil for planting and sowing seeds. Would like to learn more German so help with that would be good. Looking out for 3-D artists to make an addition to our sculpture trail in the woods! We are now growing more vegetables and have some Hebridean sheep and a few chickens. Springtime is preparation for the summer and some tree planting. In July we need help picking fruit (raspberries and cherries) so half your time will be spent picking fruit or foraging and the other half will vary. Please state in your application that you are fine with this. We have a farm that has been converted mostly into trees ages 20 - 35 years ago that need maintenance. This involves pruning the trees and planting new ones and weeding round the trees. We also try to develop the flora in the woods by planting wild flowers and useful forest edible plants. There are lots of other projects depending on the time of year an...

Small stud breeding and training Arabian purebreds, with the objective of starting them in endurance competitions at some point in future, although currently I don't have the time required to train horses for longer distances. I've got 9 horses, including a working stallion, 4 mares, and 4 geldings. The work consists of daily tasks and projects. The daily tasks are related to my animals, and the ‘projects' on my to-do list include for example: replacing fence poles, cutting back grass and bushes that grow against the electric fencing, stable doors that need to be renewed, cleaning rain gutters, etc. The projects are usually done according to the experience and interest of the volunteers. I have a fairly large guest room which accommodates 2 people. You will share the household with 3 dogs and 2 cats. If you do not like animals in the house, then my place is not suitable for you. I am always happy to host people to help me ride my horses and with all the daily work involved with hor...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

We are a family run home, perfect for the 1st time volunteer. Natural horsemanship is a real factor here if you want to learn more. Our mentors being Buck Brannaman, Steve Halfpenny and Ken Falkner. A safe environment for your 1st time away from home. You do not need any knowledge of horses but you do need to love dogs, they are a major part of the family and are constantly with us all 8 of them, dalmations, vizslas and 2 weimararners, and they do jump all over you. Constant appaloosas is a small holding where we breed and train horses for ourselves and occasionally others. We have help exchange programs running throughout the year for interested students of all ages. Vet students get a really good grounding here. What we expect from you, conduct yourself in an open and friendly manner, engage in all aspects of life on the farm and seize all opportunities with enthusiasm, avoid rude and disrespectful behaviour to people horses and dogs. Basically show respect to people and our home,...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Looking for a couple or singles for general cleaning and assistance with renovation of my dual apartment complex I am looking to gut one of the units, renovate 2 bathrooms so lots of different types of work avaialle getting the unit ready for the builder. In addition, basic cleaning, gardening and minor maintenance work in exchange for a stay in a 2.2 million dollar house with views to die for. Folks always are amazed at the quality of the units which are located on the top of Bowen Hills 2km from the city, 300 metres from the train station, 200 metres for Gaswork shopping complex, 250 metres from Aldi. My arrangement is usually 5 days of working per week (weekend or flexible days off), 4 hours of work per day per person, in exchnage for accommodation and general basic food (no alcohol/no takeaway), with reimbursement of receipts. The timing of the work can be flexible but if it is noisy it needs to be done between 9 am and 5 pm. Usually: looking for a labourer, tradie/handy perso...

Your own suite with toilet and shower, kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle etc. 25 mins to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. We ask for 5 hours work a day for accommodation and food. Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , .

--we have availability for 1 person week of Jan 26th-- Accommodation is in the “blueberry cottage,' a self-contained flat that is across the lawn from our house. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining room, computer and wifi. I stock the kitchen with good ingredients and between those and the orchard goodies you assemble your own breakfast. We start at 830 and work for four hours. I make a big lunch at the house for everyone (lots of home made bread and cakes) and the afternoons/evenings are your own. I'll keep the larder stocked with whatever food you like, we don't eat much meat but can supply it. We have bikes for your use and are surrounded by wineries, or there's always a shady tree to nap under. Warning we do have insects, and in the summer picking time can't take helpers who are colourblind. For ease of booking we'd prefer if you can plan on coming and going on Mondays, one week minimum stay. We are a ten minute walk from the bus stop. Here's a little video on us...

We have an island retreat in Nelson (near Motueka) on 10 acres and a home in central Nelson. There is plenty to do with weeding, taking care of the garden and cutting grass. Our beach house, near Motueka is on a small island. The ideal helper(s) is self sufficient, detail oriented and a self starter. Our island retreat is about 100 metres off Port Motueka, then another kilometre along the beach, facing Tasman bay and across from the Abel Tasman National Park. Our home in central Nelson is a 5 minute walk from down town. The work consists of gardening and general housekeeping. An average of about 3 hours work per day is sufficient. Recommend a week stay or more because of the logistics of getting you there and showing you around etc. It is an "off the grid" solar home. There is a limited wifi that is sufficient for email, and internet. We will supply some but not all food. (depends on the situation) We usually have potatoes, oats, and bread and all condiments and coffee as...

I have a property on the edge of Havelock North in Hawkes Bay.I need help in the gardens and around the property..Helpers have their own very comfortable and self contained accommodation .They are welcome to use the swimming pool and tennis court. The work is varied and not too strenuous. In the past some of my helpers have done their chores while also working in paid employment and I am flexible to manage these situations. My helpers all seem to love the food we eat- I’m a hunter gatherer and we eat lots of food like fish and home grown vegetables.. Couples are welcome. The property is within walking distance of the Havelock North village. Bikes are available for use. Havelock North is a vibrant town in one of New Zealand’s most attractive and liveable provinces. Hello! Help us in our small farm, in a small village close to Vevey (15min by car) and Lausanne (25 min by car). We are Arnaud and Vanessa, and our kids are Céleste (3yo) and Léandre (1yo). Over the past five years, we have renovated the house and we still need a little help with the finishing touches and day-to-day management with our animals: our dog Maya, our horses Mélisse and Nova and our cats Léo and Chaussette. :) No experience needed, but motivation ! We have availability from mid-December to February. You contribute 4 hours a day and we'll provide you a bedroom in a separate flat, possibly with one other person (the flat has two bedrooms), shared kitchen and living room, food and drinks, WiFi. You also have the opportunity of taking a drama course and/or go riding a horse with us once or twice. We mostly cook vegetarian. Sometimes we cook and eat together, sometimes you cook for yourselves. Here are the tasks we need help with the next months: - emptying and tidying up t...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, There is a hammock i...

We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We also have lots of pine trees both for lumber and also for pine nuts. Cork and pine nut trees are a very sustainable resource as their lifespan is over 200 years and they produce cork and pine nuts during that time. We pride ourselves for being an environmentally responsible farm and we enjoy teaching volunteers and visitors about what we do. We are a Forest Stewardship Council certified farm. FSC is a worldwide recognized organization that certifies socially and environmentally respectful organizations like ours, that harbour and follow, strict guidelines for workers, neighbouring populations and the environment. We are audited on a regular basis. From the agricultural antiques you may be cleaning and organizing, to working in the gardens. W...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

For an experience in a farm with horses and dogs, if you love nature and are not afraid of hard work! Here you’ll find silence and peace, and also many splendid places to visit. [UPDATE: We don’t have availability for a position in horse care only. But we have availability for a strong person, hard worker, to help outside with the bush clearing, using the brushcutter, driving the tractor to grind the fields, apart from helping a bit with the animals and the handling of horses. Note that we are very busy during the week, and we can't go and check our emails every day. You might have to wait a bit for an answer. Sorry for this.] We live in a sparsely populated area called Berry located in the center of France between Orléans (60km) and Bourges (50km). The closest city is Gien, 27km away. Just west is the county called Sologne, where nature is all around, though we are at only 2 hours from Paris. East is the Sancerre valley. We are looking for handy volunteers or good riders. Check...

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old Cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week in an awake household. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivation ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily.

Our home is in Shailer Park, a Southern suburb of Brisbane between the inner city and the Gold Coast. I have previous experience as a host with HelpX when I lived near Sydney in NSW. It's a quiet safe area and my son needs help with a gardening project and some small handyman jobs. I am a retired female. I have my own ensuite separate to the main bathroom which you will share with one other housemate plus there is an extra toilet downstairs. Help is required 4 to 5hrs per day, Monday to Friday with weekends to yourself and my swimming pool is there for all to enjoy as much as the other communal areas inside. We have the Daisy Hill Koala Centre & Conservation Park in the suburb next door, plus many walking & bicycle trails. A bus trip going North to Brisbane City Centre is about one hour & only 50 cents, and 2.15 hrs by bus, South to the Gold Coast for a day or weekend trip. Not sure about train travel. Lots of shopping centres and not far from entertainment venues, Australia Zoo...

We breed and raise dwarf goats and chickens and ducks. We are a 162 acre farm, next to the Puketi Forest near Kerikeri. We have hills, streams & ponds and are centrally located for sight seeing. Your own suite with toilet and shower, kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle etc. 25 mins to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. We ask for 5 hours work a day for accommodation and food. We have good and plentiful food here, as I am a chef! Chores focus on the farm, the land, goats, projects, weeding and fence clearing. Also can include planting, landscaping and painting and work on my new pottery studio build-out, and many more, depending on your skills. Also, we have projects to get stuck into, that vary on the time of year. We can collect you from the bus stop or Kerikeri Airport. We usually have other young helpers also.. ** Note: We do Farm Stay also, that is like Air BNB for people who want to get out of the town and experience a NZ farm lifestyle. Thanks Julia

I’ve had a house full of family for the last few weeks but they’re all about to return to their own homes so I’m looking for woofers to come and help me get my gardens in order. So far we are having a great summer - my helper...

Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters !! .please don`t apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers ! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar ( badly ) and sing ( worse ) ,but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabins and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is an private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our chickens, cats, dogs, one registered...
