Hello We are Ondrej and Lucy, a Czech/Kiwi couple who have been living on our country property for one year. Our home is a lifestyle block with gardens, ponds, paddocks, orchards, farm animals, regenerating native bush and native birds. We are conveniently located just 5 minutes from Māpua and Ruby Bay, 15 minutes from Motueka and Richmond, and 30 minutes from Nelson, and Kaiteriteri the gateway to the stunning Abel Tasman National Park. Ondrej and I have two children, Maika, aged 12, and Toby, aged 9, who both attend the local school. We both work, and as the property is new to us, we have plenty to do to get it organised and looking its best. We are looking for someone who would be interested in helping us with various tasks on our property. This could include general property maintainance, painting, planting, weeding, hedge trimming, dog walking amongst other things. We have a sunny, private, upstairs space for you to stay in which includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenoette, and...

I'm looking for one helper to stay with our family. **Please note we have moved from our current farm to suburbia and commute to farm. We are now on a main bus route and it's super simple to get anywhere.** We are a blended family of two boys (almost 17 & 14), an individual with Downs Syndrome & Autism, and another individual with Developmental delay and other health challenges living together. I'm the caregiver for both of my ladies, who are amazing and lovely to be around. I'm called a Home Share Provider. The agency I work for requires a copy of the criminal record check(police check) you obtained to come to Canada to be allowed in our home. This is entirely for the safety of the individuals I support. Preference is given to farm helpers who want longer stays, as the care of the cows is a bit of a steep learning curve for most people. If you are interested in learning more about farming and artisanal dairy on a small scale, I have a great opportunity for you. We are near Victori...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which was in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is nearly completed and hope to move in by the end of August! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is also nearly completed just doing the final bathroom and kitchen fitout! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Our project is based on an Irish family farm and aims to support and reinforce good intrapersonal and interpersonal practice in the changing environment of family farming. Help and learning opportunities can include eco projects, teaching, gardening, DIY and building projects, animal care, and help with computers and the internet. Office and computer-based work will be interspersed with on-farm animal care and building care and maintenance, providing a change of pace from more intensive computer work. Help is approximately 25 hours per week, arranged on a mutually beneficial schedule and open to discussion. This can also be an interesting opportunity for someone considering a career change or with an entrepreneurial interest. There is an extensive library of more than 3,000 books together with audio and video courses, with opportunities to explore various psychological perspectives, particularly Jungian psychology. The cultural experience includes living in a rural area with local ...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, five goats, a pig, a horse, one cat, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

EDIT: We are looking specifically for someone for October/November for the Halloween event and takedown/farm care in November During most of the year the work includes typical farm and household tasks like animal care, gardening, grass trimming, canning/preserving, house sitting if we are away, cleaning of coops, tractor work and/or some building project help. The Halloween event is different - full days which include trailer loading/unloading, construction, using power tools, painting, costume/makeup work, decorating, animatronic setup, and helping to deliver the food and funds collected to the foodbank after the event is over. We've never had a Helpxer regret the experience and all have said they want to come back and do it again one day because it was such an awesome experience! Ideal for enthusiastic and creative people who want to work in a big team environment with laughter, jokes, productivity and a sense of accomplishment for a job well done. A love of Halloween and horror mov...

I live in a spacious 2 story townhouse bordering a large natural park in Bellingham. We are two blocks from a public beach on Lake Whatcom, and two blocks to a bus stop. It's about a 10 minute ride to downtown where one can transfer to Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College, the mall, or Fairhaven, an area of independently owned shops and restaurants and the Amtrak station and Alaska ferry terminal. About an hour and a half away, in opposite directions, are Mount Baker, Seattle, Vancouver and the San Juan Islands. The accommodations here are in a guest room with a queen bed or on our comfy couch in the living room with a screen for privacy and a bathroom that only needs to be shared with my 2 cats. I can easily accommodate 1 or 2 folks. I am in my 70's, I love and teach Qigong. I would like to host an independent traveler who can help me 2-3 hours a day with yard work, housework, painting, cooking and kitchen help ~ (Hours can be flexible, ie take a day off and work ...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature. I am part of the local Landcare Group, protecting our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You can help with landcare work and organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. The current to-do list includes building a roof in front of the chicken coop and another in front of...

The homestead is located in Puna on an Island of Hawai’i, otherwise known as Big Island, on the south east side. We are 3.5 miles (5.6km) away from a small, quirky & very hippyish town of Pahoa and about 30 min drive away from a beautiful black sand beach & about 45 min drive to salt-water hot ponds. (We are about an hour drive from Hilo and 2.5 hours drive from Kona). Pahoa has a community center with free pool, shops, restaurants, bus stops etc. Walking or hitchhiking is the primary mode of transportation around here. However, we do have some bicycles you can borrow (🚲 🚲 may need maintenance). Our farmland used to be an orchard and sugar cane plantation earlier in the day but had been sitting neglected and overgrown for a while before we got it. Right now we are on the journey of bringing it back and building an off-grid, eco-friendly homesteading paradise, filled with gardens, orchards, beautiful relaxing spaces and with a good assortment of farm animals and pets roaming around...

We live on an alternative lifestyle block with "off grid", barn living. On the property we have a small organic banana farm which uses permaculture design principles and composted food waste from City to Farm — an initiative that gathers food scraps from urban areas and delivers them to nearby farms. We have horses, dogs, chickens, and graze cattle regeneratively. For accommodation we have a big barn space which can house a lot of people comfortably. Currently one young kiwi staying there. Where possible we grow and eat our own fruit and veges from our vege garden and our small grove of fruit trees. We also have 15 acres of regenerated native bush on our property which needs tending to. Our water is supplied from rain water, and a natural spring, and the property runs on solar. Meals will be vegetarian, happy to accommodate vegans as well! Most of your work will be in the bananas, but there will also be the opportunity to work with the animals, in the bush, in the vege garden/orchar...

Hello HelpXers, We have a 5 acre farm, 300 metres from Ruby Bay beach. Ruby Bay is conveniently between Nelson and Abel Tasman National Park. We have a beautiful established garden, vegetable plot and orchard. We also raise chickens, Khaki Campell ducks and a few sheep. We also have two beautiful riding horses and three dogs - 3 Hungarian Vizslas and a Border Terrier. Our 4 bedroom farmhouse is comfortable and cosy and has beautiful views out to the ocean. We are able to be flexible about helping hours, normally 4 hours per day. In return we are able to provide a pleasant environment to stay, your own room, 3 meals per day, WiFi and offer horse riding for experienced horse riders. We have our own private arena and often attend horse shows. Happy if you want to send a text message and we can discuss further. Take care, regards Irene ...

This is a historic country homestead set in rural Central Hawke’s Bay, on Porangahau Road, surrounded by gardens, mature trees, open farmland, birdsong and big skies. Built in 1853 by the Ormond family, Wallingford is one of Hawke’s Bay’s oldest homesteads and has a wonderfully peaceful, tucked-away feeling — the sort of place where guests arrive down the driveway, exhale, and settle into country life. The homestead is run by Chris and Jeanette Stockdale, former Sydney restaurateurs who swapped city restaurant life for the joy of creating warm, generous hospitality in the country. Chris is an experienced chef with a deep love of seasonal, garden-led and locally sourced food, while Jeanette brings warmth, humour and genuine care to the front of house. Together, they create an experience that is relaxed, welcoming and full of heart. Our homestead has been described by one guest as “possibly the most welcoming place in the world,” which beautifully captures the spirit of the homestead. ...

I have a newish house on a big section approx 4km from the center of Wanaka. It is best if you have your own transport. We are always adding and managing the gardens. I usually live in the house with my daughter however she is now away travelling and sometimes my other children - 20 years plus and one cat and a dog. I also have a horse that lives elsewhere - semi-retired now, but we can go and visit her if you are keen. Just ask. I would love help in the garden there is lots to do, but also would like help with cleaning and organising in the house and cooking and odd jobs. Hello, and thank you for looking at our page/profile! We are looking for a helper (1 person) during the summer (2026) for a 2 week period, maybe longer. Starting in June and continue through the summer and fall. We would like help inside and outside and with plenty of gardening and watering of the garden. Outdoor work includes keeping the gardens tidy, cutting and trimming of trees and mowing the lawn. Also the helper must be able to lift and haul fireplace wood and (ideally) know the use of a chain saw but not necessary. All these tasks we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting. Saturday house cleaning, gardening, pool cleaning, ironing sheets for the rentals, etc. We are chefs from New York City so we offer great food and comfortable accommodation though we do not do cooking classes to our helpx friends. In the summer time when weather permits, you have a deluxe caravan for your home. You must be very neat and punctual for work...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Hi, I'm Grant, I am as kiwi as you can get, and l live on a peaceful lifestyle block in near Otorohanga (7 minutes away) in the Waikato where l have built a workshop and tiny home, l am off grid with solar, fresh water and gas for hot water and cooking, also use wood for cooking sometimes as well. I'm very fit and healthy, l live a healthy lifestyle, I'm honest, open minded and straight up, l don't accept stress or bullshit in my life and l don't apologize for that. If you can't handle someone honest, positive, hard working and who gives compliments and praise then this is not the place for you. I enjoy the cultural exchange and I'm only nterested in helpers who want to live a kiwi lifestyle and be involved in my daily life, ie helping in the kitchen, cooking cleaning, watching movies, working together, I'm not interested in helpers who want to spend their time in their bedroom with the curtains closed, l want you to get involved and enjoy the opportunity you have.

We both work full-time, so are looking for help with gardening, animal husbandry, firewood, cleaning and various other odd jobs as the seasons dictate.

Our homestead has been described by one guest as “possibly the most welcoming place in the world,” which beautifully captures the spirit of the homestead. ...

Hello, and thank you for looking at our page/profile! We are looking for a helper (1 person) during the summer (2026) for a 2 week period, maybe longer. We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes.

We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

Hello! Would you like to stay in a villa by the sea? I offer free accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help. The villa is located 15 minutes from Ajaccio. It has bedrooms with private bathrooms, a gym with a spa, a jacuzzi in a landscaped garden, large terraces and a swimming pool. The beaches are just a short walk away, with small coves and natural pools directly opposite the villa. The panoramic sea views and sunsets make the setting particularly idyllic. A transfer from the airport or port can be arranged depending on availability, during the daytime only (details available on request). The minimum stay is one week. Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs. It represents around four hours per day, with the option of grouping the work into one full day every other day. The rest of the time can be spent enjoying Lava’s large beach, the coves in front of the villa, the hiking trai...

My hobbi...
