Hello Happy Travellers, We're looking for a couple of handy, practical helpxers. Spectacular sea views of the Pacific Ocean and islands on one side and forest, hills and farmland on the other, you'll find us on the beautiful east coast just north of Auckland. New Zealand's oldest marine reserve is nearby and the area is full of beaches, harbours and beautiful places with a great sense of community. It's a wonderful area for walking and swimming and you may borrow our masks and snorkels. We enjoy hosting happy, energetic, practical people to help with outdoor and indoor activities. These could include chain-sawing, hedging, cleaning, gardening, mulching, firewood chopping and stacking, sanding/painting, pruning, and maybe landscaping or small maintenance projects. We cook an evening meal to share and provide food supplies for you to make your own breakfast and lunch. There are two accommodations and which one is in use depends on what's happening at the time. In either case you w...

Looking for a single HelpX worker to help with outdoor maintenance, gardening/landscaping and minor building works. Ideal if you have some experience as a carpenter, builder or small rennovations work in a previous life! Start immediately, would prefer stay to be 1-2 weeks. Good command of the English language. As a courtesy please if you confirm you are coming then I will book you in. I am having too many casuals saying they are coming and then do not show up which has put our work way behind schedule! We are located on the outskirts of Auckland in a rural area, opposite a pine forest which is great for outdoor pursuits such as walking, biking or horse riding. Within the surrounding area are a number of local wineries and the beach (surf school & horse riding). We are 5-10 minutes drive to local villages, and 15 minutes drive to a main shopping area. We are 30 minutes drive from the city of Auckland, in non peak-hour traffic. Suit HelpX with a car, although have access to a car if ne...

Welcome! Your choice: You can exchange two hours help a day for the room only, or you can work for 4 hours a day and we provide meals. We have a private spot close to town here, and are two friendly people, a little dog, and some chickens. Our quiet and green home is in easy and pleasant walking distance of Nelson city centre. It's like being in the country. There is also a bus just steps away, if you want to get into town quickly. This is a good mix - looking after trees, garden, house and each other; making music; preserving fruit, etc We - meaning us two, Ian and Eva - love WWOOFers who enjoy what we are doing, and want to be friendly and part of the family. Eva is a Homoeopath, Ian is an Engineer, we both love to sing, eat, and share good food, and have fun with friendly woofers. The house is surrounded by green hills, with some of Nelson's best bike tracks and walks right next to us. We love cooking and sharing meals. We can talk with you in English, French or German No Smo...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. We are happy when someone shows enthusiasm for the garden because this is a central part...

Hello travelers, my name is Abidine Al-Boudani. I live with my family in a small town called Tagounite in the southeast of Morocco. Our family only settled during the middle of the last century, originally we descend from nomads, but have made a home in the Daraa Valley now. In walking distance to our house we have an organic farm, a 50 year old heritage from when my grandfathers settled down here. The farm is a beautiful place for anyone - be it people coming by themselves, friends, couples, families, pets - to spend an enjoyable time, connecting with the nature of the desert. ~ACCOMODATION~ Volunteers with tents can pitch them in the garden. Some families who come with a motorhome, truck and vehicles have the option to park right next to it. Currently an insulated tent is being constructed next to the garden house, which is also in progress. This accommodation will offer a more quiet environment than the family house, but comes with no bathroom yet at this point. If people need ...

We are a clifftop ecological microfarm on a quarter acre at the westernmost tip of the stunning Beara peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. We have a large family garden that sells small amounts on the side, and our project for 2026 is to turn it into a larger market-gardening business focused on salad-vegetable production. We are looking for help starting in March, when our selling season begins. There will be loads of sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting, and prepping to be done! As well as hauling in manure, turning compost heaps and chopping wood for the fire. My background is in biology and organic horticulture, so if you want to learn about bio-intensive market gardening, geek out about soil biology, and gain some experience on a tiny scale, I am happy to share all I know. At the same time, we are fixing up a small hut as a short-term rental, so if you are interested in carpentry, pouring a new concrete roof, painting, or replacing windows, there is loads of fun to be had. ** We'll be mostly around home and happy to welcome helpers for February - May 2026 ** As friends, Annelise & Tom co-bought a 30-acre section of native forest at the top of the Omoto valley, with the intention of creating a space where ourselves, friends, and family can freely use and feel at home. From the road end, it’s a 5-minute walk along a graveled path to reach our land, which creates the feeling of being isolated from civilisation, despite not actually being far away. We have two small cabins sited there, up on an old river terrace, under a canopy of rata and rimu trees, with a view out to the east across the valley. We have built /renovated both cabins ourselves using mostly recycled materials, with plenty of visible timber and we have certainly cut no corners on finishing touches. There is no road noise at the cabins, and we have no utility services connected, so it feels nicely remote and is pretty simple living. Since coming into ownership of the land, there has been...

I am an Irish filmmaker recently relocated to rural France, where I am developing a filmmaking residency and independent creative retreat in a 150-year-old French manor house. The property includes a 20+ room château-style house and two vast barns, which I am in the process of transforming into a fully independent film and arts studio complex. The long-term vision is to host filmmaking residencies, Kino Kabaret events, writers’ retreats, and film-industry masterclasses, alongside screenings, collaborative productions, and summer open-air theatre. This is a hands-on, evolving creative space designed for filmmakers, writers, artists, and curious makers who want to live and work together in a quiet, inspiring setting. The barns are being converted into:a 30-seat cinema / screening room editing suites a recording studio additional artist studios and workshop space Inside the main house, the work is largely restoration: painting and decorating historic salons and bedrooms, laying tile and w...

We are a busy farming family with two small children, dogs (including one puppy) chickens and lots of sheep and cows located 45 minutes from Christchurch city. We live in an old farmhouse with large garden and there are always lots of jobs to do around the house and farm. We are happy to exchange food and accommodation for four hours work, or accommodation only for two hours. We have two double bedrooms available that are accessed outside the house and good internet. We prefer stays of around one week but have some flexibility. We are 10 minutes drive from the closest town and do not have any nearby public transport, but I work in Christchurch several days a week and can help with transport. Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in a stay.

We are a family of 2 adults, 4 kids, 1 dog and 1 cat. We live on our beautiful suburban/bush block. We are situated 300m from the beach (whales!!). Although we kind of live in suburbia we aim to be as off grid and low tech as possible. We have only been here for about 4 months, so ALL projects are in the beginning stages. The accommodation you will be staying in is very rustic. It's a caravan that is yet to be set up (maybe that will be your first job?). In the meantime, you can stay in the house with us. Its a very loud house, so you must be ok with kids laughing, crying and enjoying life at all hours! This is an accommodation only offering, no meals provided, sorry!

We are a family of 4 offering a comfortable, self contained one bedroom unit to travellers in exchange for help with our garden, which we are gradually revegetating. Our children are 1 and 4 years old, so we welcome guests who enjoy being around little ones and who can be mindful of keeping noise low during nap times and evenings. These wetlands attract a diverse range of local birdlife, making them a lovely spot for early‑morning walks, photography, or quiet relaxation. After working on a communal farming project since 2016, I continue now on my own farm. I produce organic vegetables, some fruits, mermelades, infusions, seeds, and we also sell and deliver bread from another farm. I deliver food baskets weekly to 20 families, some organic shops, and sell weekly on a local market. I work on 5.000m2 vegetable garden, We also maintain some forest and fields where our 2 scottish highland cows are grazing all year round. On the farm I'm living with me partner and 2 teenagers (2007, 2011). You will be staying on a caravan really close by the house, but we take lunch together and some other meals too if we are all willing too... There is not set rules, nor requirement other then to be willing to come and be interested in working the land. Since we are partly co-living with the helpers, we prefer a minimum of 3 weeks stay, or even 1 month. The longer the best. I found it much more relaxing for everyone when we have the time to get to know each other. We als...

Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

WE ARE CURRENTLY RESTRUCTURING THE ALLOTMENT AND NEED HELP WITH LIFTING AND MOVING PAVING We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people, many of whom we still keep in touch with. We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables. We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible. Our house has solar panels on the roof for hot water and electricity, as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment. The work includes turning and spreading compost, making new beds and paths, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting. From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving. If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse. We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (own ba...

We have flexible help experiences available at our farm and offer two options at present: 1. Regular helpx (4-5 hours help for 5-6 days covering all meals and accommodation)as we have a few projects we want to do if your keen on helping us out with these and some involve more than 2 weeks. 2. Being a semi helper, which means free accommodation in exchange for 15hrs of help a week-you would need to organise your own food. This is good for short stay people of less than 2 weeks. Projects include firewood collection/stacking for winter, work in the gardens and plant nursery, herbal balm making/market selling, office tasks and a little cleaning. Once the school is up and running we will need help with organising courses. There is a lot of paid work in this area so our place would suit someone wanting to save some money. I have paid work for anyone with accounting experience. We live in a beautiful area with lots of gorgeous beaches and it's nice and cool in the summer at our place due...

Currently we need help with cutting fire wood around the property, this will consist of 3 to 4 hours per day and can help get you some pocket money and also experience the land. Matias grew up in Argentina, Marleen in Belgium. We've been travelling the world, Matias sailing as a merchant marine official and Marleen working in tourism but travelling mostly as a volunteer for eco-organisations. On one Greenpeace-campaign, we got together and have been living in Belgium since 2002. We have 4 children between 17 - 22, which themselves caught the travelling microbe and are not often at home. 7 hens, a rooster and two cats complete our household. Our spacious house is located in a small village in the rural east of Belgium. The big garden (almost 2.000m2) behind the house is home to fruit trees, an organic vegetable garden and a large natural swimming pond. Although Gingelom is very quiet, it is a perfect base from which to explore central-western Europe. The nearby trainstation of Landen offers great connections (Amsterdam less than 3 hours, Paris 2h40min, London 3h15min, Köln 1h45min by direct connection, Belgian coast 2h15min, ...). Our hext vacancy is likely to be in March. From then on we shall be looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, with some experience in working with wood, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. Right now I am renovating a 5m dinghy trailer and a 51 year-old, but still very strong 5m Clark brand, aluminium dinghy, fitting remote steering, centre console, etc. You would probably start your stay by helping with this. You need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year. Most of the work is outside but also based out of a well-equipped woodworking workshop and in our vegetable garden just over 100 meters from the beach.🧜♂️ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, ...

So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food.

Our home is located in a quiet neighbourhood just 4km from the Launceston CBD. There is a bus stop close by, and a local supermarket is only a five minute walk away. Just across the road from our home is Queechy Lake, a peaceful natural space that is especially appealing to birdwatchers and nature lovers. These wetlands attract a diverse range of local birdlife, making them a lovely spot for early‑morning walks, photography, or quiet relaxation. We are also within easy walking distance of Old Macs Farm, a family‑friendly area with gentle paths and farm animals, and the Punchbowl Reserve, a leafy park with walking tracks, picnic spots, and a popular playgrou...

We als...

Once the school is up and running we will need help with organising courses. There is a lot of paid work in this area so our place would suit someone wanting to save some money.
