Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of September 2026. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, self defense, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the lo...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

I live in a small cosy cottage with a glass front fire. It's quite old, I have a huge garden and use it for vegetables and ducks. I need help to maintain it and currently I'm establishing a poly tunnel to extend the growing season.

Dear Friendly People, My name is Böbe and I'm a Dutch and English speaking Hungarian teacher. I moved from Hungary to Spain with my 2 dogs and 5 cats on the 23rd May, 2025. Forever. I left my home country because without helpers I couldn't managed that big farm of 1.5 Ha. In place of that ranch I bought 2 small apartments for renting. We're living in a very peaceful area of San Miguel de Salinas, its name is "Communicationes". Almost nothing to do if you want to find entertaining. The main part of San Miguel de Salinas is about 2.5 km. I find a way to entertain myself: I walk at least 5km a day with my dogs in the forest nearby. And sometimes walk to a castle- restaurant about 2.5 km far from home. Nowadays I'm looking for a helper, with whom I can paint my little house in San Javier. It's about 1 km from the sea and in that small city there are lots of sightseeing. I'm not living there, because normally I'm renting out that house, too. It needs painting. It can be nice if...

We have a variety of activities both outside and in the garage in spring. There is also olive pruning and the clean up after the pruning As summer starts earlier and is hotter we only have limited work options with early starts in summer or olive picking in October/November. You could plan ahead to join us for the olive harvest in October. In addition, if you can use a heavy motorised strimmer or other form of cutter there are jobs available most of the year. There are many jobs to do and we enjoy being active and working along with our helpers. Although as we get older it’s harder to keep up with our young helpers. Spring and autumn are perfect times of year to be in the Italian countryside - not too hot for most activities. If you come as a couple, one helping in the house and one in the garden is also an option. We have a country house/renovated barn with a view of the Spoleto valley. It is about 15 minutes walk from the attractive medieval town of Montefalco and attached on one ...

You will like it here! In February and March we need help in our garden with shredding and sawing branches, stacking wood and so on. We are a little unconventional community of 4 persons (66,65,71,74), 1 friendly dog and 2 playful cats and we live in a cosy house surrounded by a garden. Our children are on their own, but they sometimes visit us. We raise our own organic vegetables in several raised beds and normal garden beds. There is always something to do in the garden and around the house or walking the dog, cleaning windows and so on... We live in a small rural village in the beautiful hills of the "Odenwald". Our village is located roughly between Heidelberg and Frankfurt, also Mannheim and Darmstadt can be visited easily. There is a good public transportation to all these cities. The Odenwald is a famous hiking region and ideal for mountain biking, a bike is available. There is a climbing rock not far from our house. We speak English quite fluently and some French. There are ...

We are on a 65 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for ten years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

"I'm an early retired gentleman with a wonderful garden. I have 2 free bedrooms for my volunteer guests. I can accommodate 2 people but no couples please. I have many years experience with people staying in my home and enjoy their energy and both learning from them and sharing my life experience with them. I seek people with a high level of conversational English, ideally C1 English where we can engage freely and exchange ideas and learn from each other. Ideally, helpers would have an open and curious personality, meaning that they are happy to share and their ideas about the world we live and particularly a love of nature especially plant life.. I particularly admire artists, writers and musicians. My priority is to have some company and energy in my home. Activities include long walks, board games, tending garden, watching TV shows and conversations. In general the active time will be 5 hours a day / 5 days a week. Most of the active time will be just hanging out having chats, playi...

This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic. We are passionate about agriculture, surfing, music, travel, nature and the environment, who want to create a communal space where people from around the world can come to learn about sustainable living and ecological ideals; share delicious organic food from the gardens; surf; tell stories; share knowledge, ideas, culture and language; learn about farming, the environment, or just relax and enjoy the farm and surrounds. The project is in its early stages and we are looking for energetic and responsible individuals wanting to experience and contribute to rural life and communal living close to nature. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us out with daily tasks such as helping in the kitchen, kee...

Hi, I’m Keith. Since 2012, hundreds of volunteers from many countries have helped our projects. We are very grateful for their help and many have become our good friends and come back for a second, third or even fourth visit! In 2020 I started a new project in a town in Northern Ireland. It’s a campus that focuses on peace building education. Our aim is to creatively and sensitively explore the resistances to peacebuilding - knowing that such resistance can resource transformation. It’s not a commercial business, but a “not-for-profit” that needs lots of volunteers! We have three types of volunteers. 1. Volunteers - help with site work, painting, maintenance, cooking, cleaning, maintenance, office work. They come for a couple of months, though sometimes a shirt as two weeks or as long as a year! 2. Interns - come for at least 2 months, often 3 or 4 months or longer, and do work such as research related to their studies, marketing, accounts, social media, fundraising and grant...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

DUE TO A CANCELLATION WE ARE LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL. OTHERWISE FROM BEGIN OF AUGUST TO NOVEMBER AGAIN. We are a family of four and have small farm at the coast of the Baltic sea close to Oskarshamn. The farmhouse is more than a hundred years old and is located just a few meters away from a lake, which we can use exclusively for fishing, swimming and anything else. A good work-life-balance is very important for us, and this is also what we have in mind for our helpers. It's not only working here, we also want to show our helpers the laid back Swedish lifestyle here at the Eastern coast. Both sides should feel that they did benefit from your stay at our place. Hein: I was born in the north of Germany, and my profession as a carpenter has a very important role in the realization of our dream life. I’ve always felt at home out in nature, fishing, sailing or mushroom picking,. I like to work in the garden and cultivate home-grown fruits and vegetables. Astrid: ...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabins and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . Our farm is in the mountains of Lares, a rural region in the center of the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. A town well known for the rebellion insurgency called "El Grito de Lares", also well known for the coffee plantations and the culinary festivities. Lares has great rivers, beautiful sceneries and nice climate. In this great countryside we manage an agricultural, educational and community project, Proyecto Agroecológico Campesino/PAC. Our mission has been to produce food in a sustainable way, facilitate a practical learning farm for students and share knowledge with the community. For this we work in the transformation of two acres, in an integral farm where combines crop production, animal husbandry, resource management, restoration of soil and ecosystems, inspired by the agroecological principles. We invite you to join us on our every day activities to build a sustainable farm and to share knowledge and experiences. The accommodation includes a private room with kitchen, bat...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. We live in a nature sanctuary on Corfu island in Greece. we are a COMMUNITY of PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMAN BEINGS, who try to live together IN THE SPIRIT OF NATURE. we are organized similar to a zen monastery. yet we are not affiliated to any religious body, but to the holy body of our mother earth. the earth takes care of us. the earth gives to us what we need. she gives us and she for-gives us – she never asks for money… we admire the communities in nature (ecosystems), where all members balance their needs and gifts in a healthy way, without money, without machines and without chemicals. here in NATURE’S SANCTUARY we try to live in harmony with nature. we try to support and protect all our nature brothers and sisters, who share this sanctuary with us… it is a CHALLENGE TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE. it is a challenge to protect and support all nature beings in a way, that they have the chance to live in their own natural born communities. we are looking for people, who want to take...

We run a well-known organic market garden in the Alpes Maritime, right on the Riviera coast and the Italian border. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and popular with tourists. Our garden is on mountain terraces above the town, but only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 to the old town. Access is easy by train or bus from Nice or Italy. For the next 5 months we are looking for hands-on and experienced support with a number of urgent tasks. This could be a paid situation for an experienced person willing to contract for the season which ends 30 September. The work includes sowing, planting, fertilising, harvesting for market, basic landscaping, fencing, irrigation repair and DIY/maintenance and will probably best suit a fit and younger male helper. We may also take 1 or 2 experienced volunteers for shorter periods. As a produce grower, our crops include organic lemons, oranges, avocados, vegetables. Leaf crops and herbs. These we sell at a combination of local market, hig...

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english.

Welcome to our yurt in the beautiful Blue Mountains We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young adults, one who is only here from time-to-time) with a dog and cat living on a beautiful bush block in Leura, Blue Mountains. The accommodation that we can offer is a funky yurt that is located about 30m from our home. There is no power or water in the yurt. The closest bathroom is 30m away in our workshop under the main house. There are 2 single beds (which can be combined if requested) and two comfy chairs in the yurt but it is spacious and has a private deck with gorgeous bush views. You must be able to walk up/down stairs without a railing to access the space. You will be welcome in our main home during the day and for access to power, the kitchen, internet but can retreat to your private space whenever you wish. We need assistance with landscaping, gardening, and weeding in our yard and at our nearby rental property. Good cooks are always welcome. 3-4 hours of assistance in return...

Hi You will not regret coming to us! We are looking for helpers to harvest our walnuts from mid March to mid April this year. The work is not difficult and it is a nice environment to work in. Tasks include using a small harvesting machine or hand held nut rollers to pick up the walnuts, then putting them through a washing machine and a sorting machine before they go into drying bins. We live 25 minutes north west of Christchurch on an established property with a big garden, and tennis court. We have a sleepout with a queen sized bed and a spare room also with a queen sized bed in the house. Our house is warm and comfortable. We have tools for fitting out your car/van. We also have a car for sale. There’s plenty of space to relax - we have table tennis, outdoor tennis court, table football, and it’s not far to the beach and mountains. We both like to cook good food from many different countries that we share with you. We have travelled extensively both in New Zealand and in the world....

UPDATE: Volunteer needed in March-early April 2026 to help clear a pasture from big wild bushes and chop wood. Hello. I’m Paul, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I appreciate a b...

Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...
