Hi! We've had a couple of Helpers (WOOFERS) and have really enjoyed the experience. I believe they have enjoyed their stay too. Our adult kids have moved out (one into Hamilton, the other over to Sydney), so it's just the two of us in a 5-bedroom house. We live on a rural lifestyle property, which is a 10-15 minute drive outside Hamilton city and a one-hour drive south of Auckland Airport. The property is just under 1 hectare - one-third is grounds and garden, and two-thirds is paddocks. We run 4 alpacas and a beef steer. We also have a cat called Bella and a huski-shepherd cross dog called Kayla that both live in the house so Helpers must be comfortable around cats and dogs. We're looking for guests to help around the house (cleaning, gardening, etc.) and property, which might include feeding and handling the alpacas (under our direction). We would also love it if you would cook an evening meal or two. If the Helpers are comfortable with Kayla (and she is comfortable with the H...

Hi. We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a puppy and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accommodation, meals (please provide your own snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found his way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g. 1 or 2 weeks or months stay but ...

Hello everyone! My name is Bird, I was working in Chiang-Mai as a photographer for 2 years then decided to become a farmer and create a Thai traditional agriculture permaculture farm in 2018. I wish to create a relaxing place that allows people from all over the world to take their time to experience life in harmony with nature. I also have four water buffalo on our farm, named Tony, Laura, Hanna and Charlie. We are a local family with a desire to preserve our simple, sustainable way of life so that we can give back to and protect mother earth. Our farm is located in Pua city, 70km north of Nan province surrounded by the mountains and rice fields, in Northern Thailand. The farm is set on 1.5 acres of land with vegetable gardens, rice paddies, farm stay and pizza restaurant. Currently, we have done with natural buildings on the farm, including bamboo huts, fences, and wooden houses. “Life is better with a Buffalo” is our farm goal and “Happiness only real when shared “ is our motto. Y...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old Cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week in an awake household. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivation ...

LOOKING FOR HELPERS NOW. In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 30,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every year. Most of the wor...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Thirteen years ago we took a chance on a bareland croft. Empty but for bog, rock, bracken, grassland, heather, wild flowers and trees. We spent long winters in a caravan, while we watched our children outgrow the space and started to bring the land back into use. We now produce vegetables and eggs, and have built a family home. We are looking for one or two helpers who can be with us for a week or two at a time. Longer stretches may be possible. We ask helpers to help out 20 hours a week. The rest of the time is yours to enjoy this beautiful island and to get to know this welcoming island community. Tasks vary depending on the time of year, and include help with our organic vegetable garden, digging out brambles and bracken, tree planting, woodland management and feeding the chickens. Hallo, adventurous HelpX people, Welcome to the Paddock Straw bale house '25 We had to build our modern steel frame and straw bale house without help x support due to restrictions from planning! We have now gained habitation and are open to share our home. We have used 1100 straw bales, 35t of clay and lime each and charred our cladding boards to create a stunning effect. We are now turning to interior finishes and furnishing, garden and eco sport systems including heating, rain water harvesting and potentially hydropower. We installed wall heating in walls and floor and mudded through and earth rammed floor. So there is a lot of knowledge here. As helpers: When we come to you, we are more than happy to advise and do light work. We are not labourers anymore perse please! Bogdan is looking for a place in Poland to get some distance to the project while re-connecting with Poland after 20 years in Britain. He is happy to help in the garden, with animals (he was a framer in his you...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Hello, I host people to help develop our beautiful permaculture garden and homesteading project in Titirangi on the rainforest edge of Auckland... for around 5 day stays. (negotiable) Tasks will vary and be mostly outside in the garden. There is a harbour beach (not swimmable) just a 2 minute stroll through a forest pathway. We need help with general house maintenance, gardening, permaculture style and organic, some possible construction work, firewood or painting. The accommodation is a lovely bedroom with louvre windows and a view of the garden but it is a single mattress only. We will provide accommodation, free wifi, and one main meal per day in exchange for 3 hours help exchange. I would especially like people who are interested in yoga, meditation, architecture, permaculture, biodynamics or organic gardening but anyone strong and enthusiastic for living close to nature would be great. The house is sunny, funky, clean, light, zen, and airy and nestled in the forest but is eleva...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

Hello travellers ! The rain(unless a cyclone comes down from the North) has basically finished now..., from now on it's going to be warm and getting warmer..., to HOT(Jan/Feb) I invite helpers who are travelling in a camper van or similar to come and help here. This is a "very special location" because it is 'away' from the hustle of Margaret River(20 min away) and only 15 min drive to Augusta..., also It is very close to Hamelin Bay and it's right beside a tall forest National Park. All the usual native animals roam freely over this land - Kangaroo, Emu, Possum, reptile and so many birds are in abundance on this land. I need a couple of helpers here..., who are staying in their own camper van, roof top tent or similar..., I provide clean toilets and showers plus rain water. There are also some really nice and private 'set up' camp sites here. I ask for 2 hours easy work in exchange for helpers experiencing this special location !. The kind of help needed is....., weeding..., r...

Kia ora My name is Rosemary and I live on a 37 acres farm with the herd of 11 horses, two dogs, two cats. The farm is situated close to Lake Kereta within hearing and walking distance to the Tasman Sea, on the edge of a lake surrounded by beautiful nature. Our horses (all non-ridden) are part of the family and are an integral part of programs we offer in Equine Assisted Learning - they help to heal people with trauma-based issues, as well as how to be with horses as equals and teachers. In fact, we don't ride, we spend time playing and interacting with horses learning more about what they teach up rather than what we teach them. What would make life more wonderful specifically is help in these areas: general maintenance and farm skills, housekeeping (both in house and retreat venue), gardening, painting etc We have lively and interesting groups of people coming through from filmmakers to educational and business groups, kids camps, as well as individuals who wish to explore ou...

We are a small family living in the true Australian bush, kangaroos surround us in the paddocks and kookaburras wake us in the mornings. Not too far from the shops but far enough away to experience the peace, the sunsets, the stars and bushland without neighbors. We welcome travellers who offer some help around the house, they like animals, enjoy bush walking, mountain bike riding and want an experience amongst the gum trees. We are a family of four with many animals including a cat, a horse and a beautiful very friendly dog. The children (3) are working, going to University and at secondary school. Some of the easy jobs you could help out with are stacking, collecting and splitting wood for the fires, gardening, some fence repairs, cooking, and or cleaning. It's not all work though as there are so many great things to do and explore in the area for example; mountain bike riding through the bush with kilometres of tracks all 100mtrs away, bush walking, camping (we have all of the ...

After 16 years, and hosting almost 100 HelpXers, at our property in Larnook, in the Northern Rivers region, Steve and I have moved to a new place in Tenterfield, at the northern end of the New England Tableland. All of our reviews up until September 2024, are related to our previous place. We are now ready to accept HelpXers at our new place. Steve and I are a gay couple and we offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Tenterfield, the more you will get out of it. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, establishing herb and vege gardens, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated a few kilometers west of the town of Tenterfield, in a quiet, rural area. We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (for checking emails, looki...

Hi, I’m Keith. Since 2012, hundreds of volunteers from many countries have helped our projects. We are very grateful for their help and many have become our good friends and come back for a second, third or even fourth visit! In 2020 I started a new project in a town in Northern Ireland. It’s a campus that focuses on peace building education. Our aim is to creatively and sensitively explore the resistances to peacebuilding - knowing that such resistance can resource transformation. It’s not a commercial business, but a “not-for-profit” that needs lots of volunteers! We have three types of volunteers. 1. Volunteers - help with site work, painting, maintenance, cooking, cleaning, maintenance, office work. They come for a couple of months, though sometimes a shirt as two weeks or as long as a year! 2. Interns - come for at least 2 months, often 3 or 4 months or longer, and do work such as research related to their studies, marketing, accounts, social media, fundraising and grant...

We are looking for helpers who have experience and skills that will be helpful with one of the above areas, who are happy to tasks independently at times, as well as with us. Accommodation is a smal...
