We have fully self contained, clean and comfortable accommodation in Bangalow. The accommodation consists of two bedrooms, living areas, kitchen, veranda, bathroom and laundry. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Dodges Ferry is a village with beautiful beaches, some shops (IGA, Chemist, Bakery, Coffee Shop) and a magnificent community garden. Great cafes overlooking the main beach. It is very relaxed. Local bus service go to Sorell, about 20 minutes, and Hobart, 1 hour. My house is 5 minute walk to the bus stop. I have some spare bicycles for guest use, and wifi. Accommodation is in the house. I have a double bed and two single beds. Guest will be able to help with gardening, cooking, cleaning etc. From time to time there will be maintenance jobs (painting, repairs).
