We live on an organic property with a house, charming old cottage that we Airbnb, extensive vegetable garden, tunnel house, fruit trees and food forest. The property is just outside Carterton. We live on ten acres in the Noosa hinterland on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Our home is 14km from Noosa, 11km from Noosaville; 10km from Coolum and Peregian Beach and Eumundi is 5km away. We live in a Queenslander house and our helpers have their own double room with a private access and their own bathroom. On our property, we have a variety of wildlife, including wallabies and kangaroos that come and go. The best time to see them is late afternoon and early evening. My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, who we home-educated throughout their school years. Three of them are now married, and we have five grandchildren. Five of our now grown-up children are living at home - either still or again - our oldest son with his wife and 4 boys is living in our cottage, and another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. A friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much!
