We run a no-kill animal sanctuary in the beautiful Irish countryside, an hour's drive from Dublin City. We have horses, sheep, goats, hens, geese, ducks, dogs, cats, a pig and a donkey, all rescued from bad situations and now living out their days in peace and comfort with us. We break and train horses for dressage, vaulting, jumping, trick riding, disabled riders, harness, mounted Police and entertainment. I am a EA coach and assessor worked and trained with horses all my life. The riding Centre is my peaceful place. We need people that can take a joke or two or maybe three. We need someone that can help with the general farm work, feeding Horses and if they’re exceptional rider help train the horses. For others there is always a chance to ride school Horses. We live in a beautiful part of the world between the beach and Margaret River town. We live on a farm with multi- generational families, we work towards a lot of self sufficiency and we work off the farm also. Our interests include music and wellbeing. The Margaret River community is vibrant and has many activities on offer. Our family welcomes cross-cultural experience. We like our Helpxers to be happy; we offer clean, comfortable, private caravan accommodation. Tasks are dependent on helpxer skills, farm, family and home requirements (such as whipper snipping, gardening, wood splitting, domestic tasks, artistic skills and painting). Having a car is necessary as there is no public transport. We ask for 1 hour work a day (couple) and 1.5 hours work a day (single) which means that helpxers can get work off the farm, if you like. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. Bonjour à tous ! Nous sommes éleveur de chevaux arabes, arabe-barbes et anglo-arabes et nous avons une trentaine de chevaux en moyenne, dont des retraités, des poulains, des adultes qui sont montés ainsi que des pensionnaires. Nos autres animaux sont 2 chiens, un malinois guide de chevaux, et une micro beagle réformée des laboratoires, et des poules qui vivent en liberté. Il est donc primordial d'aimer aussi les chiens, car les deux là sont très invasifs pour avoir des câlins... Notre discipline sportive est l'endurance, et il nous arrive encore parfois de faire des compétitions plus ou moins longues, de 20 à 120 km. We started to welcome HelpXers to our Uddevalla home 2014 and since then we have met so many interesting, wonderful, helpful, caring and skilled people - men and women, boys and girls, who in different ways have helped us with various practical matters, but also contributed to increase our understanding of the world and letting us become their friends - in many cases, I believe, for life! I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook.
