Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM EARLY APRIL.. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. Travelers should choose my place because it offers a calm, friendly, and comfortable home in the Dublin Suburbs 10 minute train ride to City Centre. You’ll be surrounded by plants, nature, and good company 🌿. The tasks are light and relaxed. You’ll also learn practical gardening tips and horticultural knowledge in a cozy, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal place for volunteers who enjoy peaceful living, meaningful conversations, and a warm home atmosphere. I am a well organized and responsible person. I have a satirical and humorous view of the world. It is important that volunteers in my home don't take themselves too seriously. I’m an easygoing, friendly host who enjoys gardening and evening chats 😊. I value respect, honesty, and harmony in the house. Volunteers can expect to be treated kindly and fairly, with plenty of support and patience. I like keeping things informal and relaxed, and I always try to make sure everyone feels comfortable and at home. Trust is important to me...

We have a 1.4 hectare (4-acre) lifestyle block (mini-farm) close to the Hamilton city boundary. Our location is great for day trips to Raglan, Hamilton Gardens, and Hobbiton. For helpers without their own car, there is a bus stop about 15-minutes walk from our house, we might be available to help with a ride to the bus stop, and we drive into town a couple days as week as well. We have horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, a rabbit and a pet bird. We are establishing gardens, growing food, following permaculture and organic practices. There is always a wide variety of tasks to suit any helper/s, and the task timeframes are very flexible for weather and sightseeing. Outdoors there is usually some weeding to be done, other garden tasks, maintenance and improvements. Dream projects include building a small greenhouse out of recycled ranchsliders and building some small bridges over the drains. In winter, waterproof footwear is recommended. In summer months we need help with blueberry pick...

CALL FOR HELPERS Our place is located between Turku and Helsinki in the village of Karjalohja on a beautiful hill with a view over fields with crops and horses. Only with a 7 minutes walk you reach the shore of the clean protected Enäjärvi Lake, where we do fishing, rowing, sailing, swimming, picnic, or take tours to the islands. Big forests with berries and mushrooms also surround us. You reach the Turku-Helsinki express bus stop in 15 minutes with our biogas car. To reach the nearest small village with shop, library, spa, etc. takes 12 minutes by car and 35 minutes on bicycle. Now this place serves our circle of partners and friends and we hope that one day it can also serve a larger circle. Eventually, it can also become an artist residence and an experimental ground for artistic, ecologic and holistic lifestyle development. The project We are developing an old farm into an ecological self-sustainable unit. We are growing biodynamic food and exploring experiments in recycling a...

[Update posted 08/01/25] The Crossing announces a change, a seed planted four years ago. For the past four years, the land belongs, as is fair and good, to a Tribal University and Land Grant University located on the Rosebud Reservation, home of the Sicangu Oyate, in South Dakota. Our donation of the property was formally accepted by Sinte Gleska University during September of 2020. Since then, the seed has sprouted and pushed roots of beginnings down into the soil and the sprout and it's cotyledons have come out into the sun. Last August, with an amazing gathering here of a group of people from The University, inipis (sweat lodge, in Lakota) were poured and prayers sent up to Creator, and the transition from private ownership to the establishment of Sinte Gleska University's welcomed and growing presence is forever engaged – the first true leaf has opened to the sunlight. Helen and I will share more about the future of The Crossing and the direction by Sinte Gleska University when ...

It`s been over 10 years now that we are participating in programs like this. We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends. Also our neighbors and others in the village enjoy the exchange. They are always up for a small talk, which is great for you to practice your German! About us: We have organic breed Wagyu Beef (the most expensive meat in the world). There are 3 Horses, a Pig, Chicken, Dogs and a bunch of Cats that are also part of the Farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden. There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows.. Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature. It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak English. We...

Come try life on a small island in Denmark, beautiful Fejø (approx 450 residents), south of Sjælland (Zealand), north of Lolland. We are a family of 3, Mikkel (46), Ann-Mai (42), our 15 year old son Storm, the dog Kiwi, and the cat Mivs. Our garden includes a tiny wineyard, scattered apple trees, and other edible plants, herbs and bushes, a little vegetable area, a chicken coop and a few bee hives. From our home there is no more than 400 meters (1.300 feet) to the ocean (on 3 sides!). We are not an actual farm, but we still gather our own honey, brew mead, do some net fishing, eat our own chickens, make marmelade, press applejuice etc. We love to meet people from around the world, learning about other cultures - And we love to get some help with tidying up the garden, maybe some cleanup in the addict or help with regular house keeping and cooking, and every now and then some renovations on the house. So if you are interested in any of these areas, or just not afraid of trying someth...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Come experience life off-grid! I'm looking for keen folks to help me with my homestead. I grow pretty much all my own veggies and am getting into more and more seed saving and even a bit of veg breeding. I keep chickens for eggs, hunt the local sheep and sometimes raise livestock for meat. Work is varied and flexible, there's gardening, construction projects, firewood, fencing, canning & food preservation, etc. etc. I would also love to host someone with sewing skills who'd be keen to help with my large mountain of mending projects. I'm good at darning and can teach you how! Helping hours can be flexible and adjusted to your interests and abilities. I ask for 20hrs/week of worktrade not including your share of cooking/food prep & dishwashing. I am busy working away from home some days so seek helpers who are fairly independent and I encourage folks to get out in the community and make connections with other islanders. A large part of the island`s population is made up of aging...

Hello! We own a beautiful 30+ acre farm in gorgeous Vermont! We have a bunch of egg laying hens, some goats, and horses. We grow a lot of different veggies such as greens, kale, lettuces, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, and many more. We have some hoop houses so our growing season starts early and runs throughout most of the year. We are hoping to find a helper that can stay for 2 or more weeks. Longer stays are preferred and we can accommodate pretty much any time frame. We are looking for a helper who is interested in vegetable gardening and assisting with basic care of our animals. We have done some help exchange programs with different groups, and we are excited to join the helpx community! We offer 3 meals a day and living accommodations in a private barn apartment, in exchange for 4 hours of work 5 days a week. The work is a bit physical but nothing overly demanding. No previous farm experience is required, but a willingness to learn and help out is what we are looking f...

We're a small family farm on four sweet acres surrounded by vineyards an hour north of San Francisco. Although family, friends and neighbors stop by frequently, it’s my husband Ted, our husky dog Clara and I who live and work at the property as a labor of love. We used to travel a lot and now we feel fortunate to experience so many different cultures through the globetrotters who find their way to our door. We look forward to hosting people who appreciate simple things: the sun, the soil, jumping in the pool after work and cooking with new friends in an outdoor kitchen surrounded by vegetables. Please be willing to get down and dirty helping us with (depending on the season) any of the following: fixing irrigation, harvesting veggies, pulling weeds, painting, planting, spreading mulch, transplanting trees, building and repairing fences, pruning grapes, drying and preserving fruits and vegetables, making wine, mowing the grass, building rock walls and yes, shoveling shit, AKA manure f...

Hello. We are a small Llamas farm, located in the Pyrenees mountains. If you are looking for an original French experience, it could be the right place for you! Here in the high Pyrenees, near the Andorra & Spanish border, we offer you the possibility to live and work in a calm and isolated place, surrounded by high mountains and nothing but pure nature, and good meals "à la française" after our activities among our lamas (about 15 of them). We are a retired French couple, but we used to work and live in foreign countries and continents, which made us interested in people and cultures from all over the world. In the surroundings, there are beautiful places that we would be happy to make you discover, and if you want, we can trek together with Llamas... For your own, you get an entire and cosy apartment (2 bedrooms, 1 or 2 people, single or couple), and join us for generous meals, mostly with local products, that we like to share and appreciate together (so, no vegetarian requir...

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

Greetings! We are a creative couple in our 30's (Janne and Ruben) living in a fjord at the norwegian west coast, where we have wonderful nature close at hand. We love to make everything around us beautiful and like a fairytale, and we try to live as sustainable as possible, we love the principles of permaculture. We bought this house and 1 acre garden 5 years ago, our property is located by the fjord with a couple of small beaches close by, as well as the forest and the mountains basically at our doorstep. We have various fruit trees, berry bushes and vegetable patches. We live here with our 2 cats and 4 ducks. We run a small mushroom farm (allthough please note, we don't really have a farm, it is more like a little homestead). We have our own cozy campfire place. And a row boat if you like the sea or fishing. We have a son, 7 years old and a daughter age 3, so you would have to be ok with staying in a home with children :) (If you're comfortable with children we are also look for som...

Welcome! Our family owned and operated certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is excited to have you stay and become a part of everything we have going on. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, 2 guard alpacas and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! Aside from livestock, we have recently built a small farm store / café that cooks the meat raised on the farm. We also take pride in creating all recipes from scratch, from the sauces to the buns of the burgers. Currently only operating during the summer months, 3 days per week. It’s been a lot of work, but a great way to get more people out to the farm, eating good food and connecting with the community...

Filming a real-life project with donkeys (Salamanca - Spain) You can be part of an ongoing project — a longer journey with a small group of donkeys through southern Europe. The focus is on documenting real life with the animals: movement through the landscape, close interaction, and natural, unstaged moments. You will work with professional camera and audio equipment and take part in the process of creating and shaping the material. This is a real project, not a staged production. Current location: rural area near Béjar (Salamanca), Spain (until June) There is also the possibility — for the right person — to continue on the journey to the Pyrenees, after an initial period together. Write a short message about your motivation and why you would be a good fit

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to w...

Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Me, a graphic designer, linguist & office boss live in a small organic homestead in rural Orimattila together with my partner and almost adult son. We have slowly renovated our house and now try to focus more on fixing the various huts and sheds. We offer various jobs around the house, sheds, forestry and garden depending on the time of the year and on your preferences. We have of example plenty of yard work and gardening (organic and following permaculture guideline). All types of forestry work depending your skill level. We are open-minded and LGBTIQA+ friendly We offer short stays from one day to two weeks. Long-term stays are unfortunately not possible. If you are willing to work for four to six hours a day and do not mind getting your hands and shoes dirty we offer you modest accom...
