Hello dear traveler, we love to travel, meet different cultures and get in contact with locals. When we do not travel the world, we love to invite the world to our place. We are keen to hear what you have experienced. We (that is Miriam (39), Johannes (44), our son (2) and our dog Malia (10)) bought a house and a garden in the beautiful area of Allgäu four years ago. And there is still a lot to do. We started a vegetable garden and are interested to convert the rest into a beautiful living space for birds, insects and ourselves. The place where the vegetable garden is now, turned out to be very wet. So the next project is to create a new one in a different spot and to turn parts of the old one into a wetland biotope. And we have more ideas for our garden (e.g. build little houses for birds, insects, hedgehogs) and within the house (e.g. some painting, rebuild the inside of a cabinet). There are already many ideas, but we are open for your ideas and interests as well. Walking the dog...

This can be your basecamp for winter in Tongariro National Park — a dual World Heritage site with two ski fields right up the road. We're at the base of Mt Ruapehu, with Whakapapa and Turoa both within easy reach, so you're sleeping at the mountain rather than driving up in the dark and cold every morning. Wake up, check the conditions, and go. We're a 90-bed backpackers and we're popular with HelpX — usually 4 to 8 helpers on site at any one time, plus a steady flow of guests through the lodge. It's busy, it's social, and there's always something going on. Lots of fellow travellers, lots of mountain time, lots of opportunities to make the most of where you are. We take helpers all year round, but we get booked up well in advance — so reach out early and we'll do our best to work your dates in with your NZ travel plans. Two weeks or more is ideal: time to settle in, wait out the weather, and actually live in the park rather than just passing through. One week works at a pinch, but you'...

Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland and to a quiet vegetarian smallholding working towards self sufficiency (I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder!) I’m Kris, I have enjoyed hosting like-minded people from around the world for many years now. Friendships have been formed and from the comments of guests, it's been an enriching experience for me and those who have stayed. It is a lovely environment here, but I would say it is suited to a certain kind of person, so to make sure it’s right for you, please read my description, then let me know if it appeals to you, and why, thanks! (I reply to all personal messages!) The land is around two acres (1 hectare). A small amount is used for vegetable garden, I have also planted hundreds of trees, some of which I am now cutting for firewood to be more energy self sufficient. The woodland attracts a lot of wildlife and in the right weather, it is a joy just to sit and listen to the birds! The house is almost 200 years old, and I h...

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

Homestay in Southern Indiana We started hosting almost 15 years ago with idea of building a wheelchair ramp for my daughter. The engineering proved to be too difficult and expensive so the ramp was never built. (Still in search of solutions to this issue.) My daughter is grown and gone now and I’m the one who is physically fragile and in need of help. We are looking for a capable and thoughtful person (or couple) to assist with housekeeping, meal prep and organization. Age doesn’t matter nearly as much as emotional maturity, honesty, and a true desire to help change lives for the better. I want you to feel like family, like a cousin or friend who has come for a stay to stay for a while. Experience with eBay, FB marketplace and photography would be very useful. A licensed driver with a vehicle would be awesome, but not a deal breaker if you don’t have one. Projects currently in the works are - - food prep once a week & freezing ready to eat meals - learning to make cream...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). I already have people helping me until the end of july, so I'm looking for someone from this period. I mainly need someone to help me harvest the spirulina but also sometimes to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, and also everything else that goes along with the spirulina production: clearing brush, chopping wood, going to markets from time to time, house construction, etc... I'm looking...

Hi! Please read before applying, as we need specific skills, or at least the willingness to do the jobs! We will ask you how you think you may be able to help when you apply, so please read below! We are now in early summer and there is plenty of changeable weather, and we have plenty to do here. At the moment, we have space for someone that can help with collecting and stack wood from the forest, plus general garden tidy up. Any other skills would be useful, the work is on steep terraces! If you have building, landscaping or even mechanical skills, we would love to hear from you. There is a possibility for a longer stay - for the right person! The work is varied, but can be heavy at times as we do a lot of wood cutting (in the spring) and wood processing and stacking (in the summer) and the land is pretty steep. This would suit someone very active and loves being outside, must be a self starter and get on with jobs on their own! Any of these skills would be useful: 1. Easy g...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

It`s been over 10 years now that we are participating in programs like this. We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends. Also our neighbors and others in the village enjoy the exchange. They are always up for a small talk, which is great for you to practice your German! About us: We have organic breed Wagyu Beef (the most expensive meat in the world). There are 3 Horses, gooses, Chicken, sheep and a bunch of Cats that are also part of the Farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden. There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows.. Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature. It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak English. ...

I'm currently in a hamlet on the outskirts of Calasparra, having moved here in July 2025. The house is quite old, and although it was renovated around 2002, it wasn't a complete restoration. So I'm continuing to restore it little by little. At the back of the house, there's a small plot of land with a storage shed that I'm also improving; it's been neglected for a few years. I live alone with some adult and kitten cats. Help would be needed for various tasks, both in the garden and with the house renovations, as well as cat care. I offer accommodation in my house, meals, and excursions to the natural areas in the region. It's a mountainous area with many rivers and swimming spots where you can bathe and sunbathe, as well as hiking and riding my 650cc motorcycle. You can reach Calasparra by bus from the Murcia city bus station, and I can pick you up in Calasparra in my car.

This is a small project in a heritage farm house in beautiful Lower Saxony. We are at the moment three people, two cats and some chickens. We speak German, English, French and Spanish. Our house is in the middle of the village, and we enjoy the contact to the people around us. We've got an idyllic yard and sometimes do parties or small cultural events - this year, we are taking a break though to concentrate on some bigger building projects. Otherwise, we cook together, or just hang out. Most of us are working/studying, so you might spend some time alone around the house - or you can go swimming in our local swimming pool, biking or hiking around the village or visit the World Heritage sites in nearby Hildesheim! Help needed around the year would mainly be renovation/restoration, e.g. plastering, painting, maybe some carpentry (as in improving the chicken coop or, if you feel like it, restoring old furniture), but we are also happy if you help with the house work, the garden, or cookin...

We are located on Vancouver Island in the foothills below the Comox Glacier, 6 km. from the ocean and have hosted travelling helpers for 20 years. Accommodation is a rustic and basic bright loft in the bicycle building workshop. (Unheated but with plenty of quilts and a hot water bottle, plus the house is warmed with a cozy wood cook stove in cool weather.) We have several garden plots, a greenhouse, fruit trees, a walnut tree and chickens. I am a writer, a folk musician and a community and social justice advocate and Ross is a peace activist, an alternative bicycle designer, specializing in electric power assist bicycles and utility cycling. He is also a land survey technician. The tasks depend on the season and include general gardening work such as compost making, planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting, fence repair, plus firewood, bicycle repair, help in the kitchen and occasionally some house work. We eat local fish, chicken, meat and organic vegetables and fruit. There are wilde...

Hello and welcome to our profile :). If you are reading this and are interested in helping out right now - please do get in touch as we are looking for immediate help (May 2026). If you are not available until later on and would like to reserve a place with us please drop us a message and we will chat and try and save your preferred dates. Ideally, a minimum commitment of at least one month is necessary. It takes about 2 weeks to settle in and learn things plus shorter stays do not allow you to fully appreciate all that is on offer in our beautiful area. In the past we have many volunteers who regretted not being able to stay longer. This is the beating heart of the Scottish West Highlands - take time to breathe and enjoy it. Katie and I own a small 'crofting' home in a tiny village called Lochailort and we need help all year round. A reasonably good understanding of the English language is necessary. This location is not ideal for improving or learning English, as interaction wit...

hello, I prefer requests that are for the near future, I don't like to plan too far ahead. This is an organic farm on a sheltered inlet, with horses, sheep, chickens, orchards, & gardens.. Needing help with keeping the grounds beautiful, repairs, building projects, harvesting, weeding, pruning, planting, and animal care. Near a busy village, bicycles offered, canoes, there are buses to take you around the island, hiking, swimming, artisans, markets. Sunsets are wonderful. The seaside jewel cabin is located in a private seaside spot with it's own bathhouse and kitchen nearby. The exchange is to volunteer 1.5 hrs. per day without food supplied. The work involves cleaning up after the horses or sheep (scooping poop) in the barn or on the grounds, then various projects for the balance of 1.5 hrs. You can get a part time job on Saltspring as many jobs are available. This island is very popular with the biggest problem being lack of accommodation, so helping at the farm gives you that preci...

West Coast Canada Experience Purpose built oceanfront B&B with 3 private self-contained studio suites on the 2nd floor of our home which is on the first floor. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, biking & hiking at our waterfront B&B. You'll have your own private room. If you have a valid drivers license, and are staying for at least 2 months you may use one of our cars. This requires a discussion, and is on a case by case basis. Cleaning rooms to our 5 star standard is the primary work. Limited gardening, yard work, helping around the B&B with all aspects of running a home-based business. Must be physically fit to do this. Crewing on our boat is optional if you like it - not everyone is comfortable being on the ocean. Here is what a typical summer day looks like: About 1/4 of our guests purchase breakfast. On those mornings at 7:30 am we're in the kitchen preparing breakfast. 8:45 - 9:30 serving breakfast to guests and interacting with Q&A and booking a few excursions. On most days when t...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. We are looking for helpers from right now and have space for two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we still have international surf coaches staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of May we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city. Come experience life off-grid! I'm looking for keen folks to help me with my homestead. I grow pretty much all my own veggies and am getting into more and more seed saving and even a bit of veg breeding. I keep chickens for eggs, hunt the local sheep and sometimes raise livestock for meat. Work is varied and flexible, there's gardening, construction projects, firewood, fencing, canning & food preservation, etc. etc. I would also love to host someone with sewing skills who'd be keen to help with my large mountain of mending projects. I'm good at darning and can teach you how! Helping hours can be flexible and adjusted to your interests and abilities. I ask for 20hrs/week of worktrade not including your share of cooking/food prep & dishwashing. I am busy working away from home some days so seek helpers who are fairly independent and I encourage folks to get out in the community and make connections with other islanders. A large part of the island`s population is made up of aging...

We invite you to volunteer and participate in creating a unique experience with us this summer. We organise, build and run a unique, tented, sustainable venue - a temporary outdoor eco-village in the West of England. We’re looking for people who like working hard, having fun, and being part of a community to get involved. Every summer since 1990, our trustees (all volunteers) and many other volunteers from all walks of life come together and create something truly inspiring! We are a temporary venue reflected by the three main phases of our season. The most diverse range of activities and greatest need for volunteers are during the setup and takedown of the site, but of course we also rely on our team of volunteers for the running of the events! You will be supported and encouraged to be involved in whatever you feel most comfortable doing, and we always appreciate new ideas and feedback - we are all about learning, participation, and celebration of individuals and community.

Homestay in Southern Indiana We started hosting almost 15 years ago with idea of building a wheelchair ramp for my daughter. The engineering proved to be too difficult and expensive so the ramp was never built. (Still in search of solutions to this issue.) Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer.

A reasonably good understanding of the English language is necessary. hello, I prefer requests that are for the near future, I don't like to plan too far ahead.

We live in a house with a lovely walled garden overlooking the sea on the island of ISCHIA (2 min from beach with hot thermal water) and need help with housekeeping, the garden and some light maintenance work. Private room with Wifi and a private space in the garden plus meals are offered for 25 hrs/week of help. .Just accommodation for 3 hrs work is also a possibility if you require more free time. There is a lot to discover and to enjoy here on this island from hiking a variety of paths on the mountain, the beaches and lovely villages plus the possibility to go to nearby Naples, the islands of Capri and Procida and the Amalfi Coast and Pompeij. Life in winter is calm. Public transport is within 3 minutes walking distance from our house, which connects you to all routes around island. My location is very quiet, safe and peaceful by the sea on a clifftop. We are happy to welcome a pet friendly, kind mannered and responsible person with a good work ethic in our friendly and cozy ...

You will be supported and encouraged to be involved in whatever you feel most comfortable doing, and we always appreciate new ideas and feedback - we are all about learning, participation, and celebration of individuals and community.
