Beautiful views and a lovely rural setting close to an alternative town with plenty going on (Hebden Bridge) nestled between Manchester and Leeds in the South Pennines. We are also on a bus route and near a train station. We would love people to help us with our smallholding. We have two cows to graze the land and a flock of chickens. There are meadows with a stream running through. The plan is to develop a variety of habitats to increase biodiversity. There is also a veg plot, polytunnel and newly planted orchard. We am not registered organic but have an organic sensibility. We follow a basic permaculture principle and are focused on resource management. We need help with whatever We are doing. I'm usually outside (whatever the weather), removing problem plants, generally weeding, planting, painting, building dry stone walls, making paths, moving stones or working on out-buildings. If the weather is very poor we may be carrying out internal renovations/building work. In the main...

My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, who we home-educated throughout their school years. Three of them are now married, and we have five grandchildren. Five of our now grown-up children are living at home - either still or again - our oldest son with his wife and 4 boys is living in our cottage, and another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. A friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove ar...

A harbor of authenticity, a place for ideas and connections. An oasis of independence in the unceasing quest for self-sufficiency. A botanical garden with many interesting and unexpected varieties, train station 5 min on foot, mount Etna ever on fire, seasonal food, and much more. --- Local produce, traditional food and seeds from your area are very welcome (if possible). --- Consider having kids around (sometimes babysitting) as part of the experience. --- To best organize farm activities let us know always your travel plans and terms of stay. -- Looking for someone with experience in web development and the like to help building our site. -- Are you familiar with beekeeping? Let us know! Hi, my name is Guido and with my family we live in the area where Mount Etna is the closest to the sea. This area is renowned for its unique soil and microclimate; inevitable conditions if you have a three and a half thousand metres volcano to less than ten km from the coast. Our farm consists of ...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of May. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Kia Ora all, Update: Thank you so much to HelpXers who have stayed with us this late Summer/Autumn. We have enjoyed you all and are really grateful for the garden projects you helped us with. We are not booking any more HelpXers until Spring, probably September. It's time for the garden to sleep and for us to do some other projects other than garden :). Louisa and Hugh Kia Ora, welcome to our Haven! We live on a rural lifestyle block, with great views, on the Otago Peninsula, near Larnach Castle. Dunedin town is 11 km away, 12 minutes’ drive. Travelers should choose my place because it offers a calm, friendly, and comfortable home in the Dublin Suburbs 10 minute train ride to City Centre. You’ll be surrounded by plants, nature, and good company 🌿. The tasks are light and relaxed. You’ll also learn practical gardening tips and horticultural knowledge in a cozy, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal place for volunteers who enjoy peaceful living, meaningful conversations, and a warm home atmosphere. I am a well organized and responsible person. I’m an easy-going, friendly host who enjoys gardening and evening chats 😊. I value respect, honesty, and a relaxed environment. Volunteers can expect to be treated kindly and fairly, with plenty of support and patience. House also has a permanent tenant, Gloria from Italy (early 30's) who has been here over a year. The help is quite easy and low-stress. I’m happy to share my horticultural knowledge, including tips and tricks for getting the best performance from different plants 🌱. T...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

Lots of fun things to do and see here and everyone who has stayed has left with a happy and memorable experience. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

We have 2 options Number 1 In Christchurch we like help in our very large and peaceful hillside garden. The work is mainly weeding. We also want firewood chopped and moved, and mulch carried uphill and placed on gardens.we are currently picking and bottling apples which is the biggest job just now. Our campervan also needs cleaning. People who are fit, happy and able to be independent with their spare time day and evenings are most welcome. Please note we are quiet people. We eat dinner around 6pm and don't socialise after 7.30pm or late into the evening as we work during the day. Our kitchen and lounge area are NOT available for use after 7.30pm . We request non smoking guests. We like people to do 4 hours work a day or negotiate more hours with more time off. Guests have a separate bathroom. The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old Cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week in an awake household. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivation ...

Hello travelers, We are a family owned farm, we DON'T require farm labor but you will have plenty of occasions to experience sheep farming and watch the magic of New Zealand sheep dogs doing their job. You can help me (Carrie) with my little dogs (Brussels Griffons), taking care of the chickens, maintaining the garden and lawns and a small amount of housework when needed. You will also learn plenty of new skills along the way! I would love help with cooking different recipes and maybe you could cook something from your own culture. I would love to teach you basic cooking and baking if you would like to learn. We provide you with your own comfortable accommodation in a small cabin but bathroom and kitchen is in the main house (10m away). There are three meals a day with plenty of food but at the moment unfortunately we cannot accommodate vegans or vegetarians. WIFI and cell phone coverage is limited. Since the nature of the help I need, you must like dogs particularly little dogs. ...

We live in a large old house 20km inland of Byron Bay, in a quiet area of farmland and bush. We have a large garden and vegetable garden which is where we primarily need help. We have chickens, cats and 2 donkeys! We can offer a separate 'cottage' to stay in, and we provide all meals- some helpers have not wanted to go home! There is our new natural pool to cool off in too. In return we request 4 hours of genuine work per day. We are 8km from the nearest village so your own car is a big advantage, although we can pick you up if you don't have transport. Our family loves the cultural exchange aspect of HelpX and looks forward to meeting you and learning about your country. Right now we have work to do outdoors mainly weeding, some heavy lifting, pool cleaning, painting & gardening.

Hello! As I have little children, I’m only interested in Solo female travellers only. We are a family of four; a 7 year old boy and 2 year old boy, partner is working and I’m at home alone with the children with too much to keep up with. I currently homeschool my bigger boy using an eclectic approach and nature based learning. We live in a beautiful location close to Rockingham Foreshore. Nearby is Penguin Island in Shoalwater, opportunities for kayaking, kite surfing, fishing and beach swims, close to Point Peron Marine Park for snorkelling with fish, dolphins and sea lions, 30 minutes drive to Mandurah Foreshore and it’s attractions including discovering the amazing Giant Sculptures hidden in nature spots plus there are lots of restaurants in both Rockingham and Mandurah. We are 1.3km to the pristine Warnbro beach, 2.1km to Warnbro Shopping Centre, 1.2km to the gym and swimming pools and there are bus stops on Warnbro Sound Avenue plus Warnbro train station. A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

I live on a rural property close to town and there is always plenty of work to be done and I could use a hand. I have lots of gardening or lawn mowing or cleaning. I would be asking for 2 hours per day for accommodation only. Other things to do include bird watching, crocodile watching. At last count we had 14 fresh water crocodiles. Bush walks The property is 20 minutes by car to Darwin so it is a good landing spot to explore Darwin further. For the right people I can offer a day excursion out to a cattle station to fish or ride around in a buggy and see some more of the territory or some other 4wd adventure. This would depend largely on my availability and what I am doing that weekend. Your own transport is better. There is a bus stop about 900m away but the service around Darwin is ok but not great I sometimes have paid work available as well.

Help grow a permaculture centre & outdoor homeschool in southern Italy We are investing our time, energy and lives into creating a Permaculture Centre and an outdoor nature-based homeschool in southern Italy. We live off‑grid, rooted in the three permaculture ethics: Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share. What we offer: · Vegetarian/vegan meals (vitto) · Private accommodation in a bungalow · A small, authentic community experience in nature What we are looking for — two kinds of kindred spirits: 1. Families with young children (1–3 years old) who travel with a camper, caravan or tent – and who wish to share daily life, help with small tasks, and participate in a growing vegetarian ecovillage project on land full of energy, beauty and potential. 2. Vegetarian/vegan individuals or couples interested in an immersive experience at our small permaculture centre. You’ll help us with the many daily tasks of country life (gardening, building, cooking, childcare, maintenance, etc.). In excha...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....

Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of #296: gardens to create&jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect.

We have beef cows, a milk cow, sheep, goats, chickens, a couple dogs and a producing greenhouse. Would love some help with homesteading, ongoing projects, property maintenance, gardening, and help around the house. If you like your exercise there's a walking track to the top of our property with stunning views at the top. Swimming hole at a beautiful river 5 minutes down the road. Accommodation provided in our family home. You will have your own upstairs sleeping area and a separate toilet. Three healthy meals provided for 4 hours work. We look forward to meeting you!

Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

We harvest our own rain water and power is mostly solar. Our house is modern, well-insulated, warm, peaceful. Otago Peninsula is a stunning place to be. There are many cycleways, walkways, beaches, wildlife including penguins, seals, sea-lions, native birds, regenerating bush, tourist experiences to book with. Dunedin town and many other near-by places are great to visit, too. On the Peninsula are cafes, a friendly local pub, two General Stores. T...

Our place sits high on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of mountains, valleys, rolling hills and city lights overlooking all of Albury/Wodonga, twin cities on the Murray River. We are on the main freeway between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Large luxury cedar and rock homestead on 100 acres. Lots of historic church features incorporated into the homestead and cute rustic outbuildings , antiques and artistic detail abound. Beautiful and unique large garden filled with 100+ sculptures, many paths to explore, ponds, organic vegetable and berry gardens, free range poultry and wildlife galore and many other interesting features. Lots of fun things to do and see here and everyone who has stayed has left with a happy and memorable experience. We have been a host farm for over 18 years now with well over 250 helpers having stayed. Usually it is only a one to two week stay but that is negotiable depending on how much work there is and how well we all get on. Sometimes I will accept ...

A small farm (5 hectars, half of which is forest) in a quiet green valley, 1 hour walk from the village. The railway station (7 km) is Fabro-Ficulle, halfway between Rome and Florence. (of course we' ll come fetch you at your train arrival!) Here live funny dogs (4 adults), all of them often in the house, and two cats too. Downstairs my Ceramic Studio, often in need of some "housework ". The things we need help with are ( according to the season) mow the lawn, pruning, collecting and chopping firewood ...but also rebuilding some order here and there, harvesting olives in late October, clearing, cleaning, painting, repairing, reinventing spaces and so on. In summer I am also engaged with the Thermal Park "Bagno del diavolo", together with friends we organize things over there and might need help with the pool and spaces around We cook creative healthy meals without animal products, but for some eggs sometimes Usually - as a guest- you have a self contained room (photo), but w...

We provide food and evening dinner on work days ( so guests to go out for evening dinner on a non work day) and accommodation to reliable helpers and friendly people.Get in touch if our w...

When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host helpers hopefully from different cultures in the house. The...
