Ander and Tessa take care of of their newly planted apple plantation, and make apple juice and cider. We got some chickens and Ander keeps bees, and we make firewood for the house. The farm overlooks the glacier Folgefonna across the fjord. Tessa and Ander often work late. Sometimes we are social and sometimes we all need time on our own. Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We hatched two goslings in mid July and are hand-rearing them, real characters! We start 4 hours outside work at 08.00 hr, five mornings a week and at 9 am on Sundays. Saturday is your day off. BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. A family farm for 2 generations, we grow fruit and vegetables in our garden and greenhouse, wild berries, fruit trees, and Christmas trees. The farm is adjacent to several thousand acres of state forest, accessed and enjoyed by a network of trails leading to streams/brooks with swimming spots and waterfalls. In 2025, work is focused on gardening, growing high-tunnel crops, collecting berries, farm stand operation, and trail maintenance. Its nearly September and spring is alreadyt here and we are looking for helpx second week of September. Farm work doesn't stop regardless of the weather. Gardening is an ongoing project, but we are also looking for some paving and various other property tidying up. . We always need help in the olive and hazel nut grove as well as other farm chores. Couples or singles with transport is preferred as we are off the main public transport route and approximately one hour south of the centre of Christchurch so ideal for folk heading either north or south. We can consider folk and make some adjustment with no vehicle though as there are buses that pass by the main South Road not too far from our farm.
