Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Miss Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown garden. In addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We have had great experiences with travellers so far as Mars's former partner has been on HelpX for quite some time. Maryborough is only 30 minutes away from Hervey Bay with beautiful beaches overlooking Frazer Island. Maryborough is a beautiful old heritage town with a lot of old buildings and parks all around. We're just a few metres away from the Mary R...

Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of March 2026. We are taking booking for March thru November 2026 *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the local town. We work daily on various homesteading tasks, tree pruning, harvesting organic fruits, olives, almonds, grapes, fence maintenance, cleaning the garden, sorting out irrigation systems, and all the normal ‘life in the country stuff. Because of the organic nature of our land, you will encounter the odd spider and ‘creepy crawly’ when working outside, so w...

I am Sarah. I am 56 and live on a beautiful 46 acre croft on a Scottish Island called Lismore. It is a long, slim island which sits within loch Linnhe. It is easy to get to; (5 min from Appin and 50 min from Oban by boat). Oban is accessible by train or coach from Glasgow. It is a lush, fertile island with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and waters including a great view of Ben Nevis . My vision is to create a biodiverse, beautiful and inspirational nugget of Scotland where I can live self sufficiently and gently on the land and hold space for creativity and healing. However, there is a lot to do to get there and I need plenty of help. The croft house build is more or less complete: a project which has consumed the last ten years and which we could not have completed without the enormous help and generosity of so many helpers. The house has turned out great. It is light, warm and full of character. There is also a self catering pod/sleepout on the croft, an emerging for...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We appreciate help, enjoy young people having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors, and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect to answer all their questions, pose for pictures, and be invited...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) We are a family of three (our daughter is 3 years old) living on our family farm up the beautiful Clarence valley, half an hours drive north of Kaikoura. We have a mountain bike park on the farm, so this would be an ideal place for keen mountain bikers/ trail builders (although this is not a requirement!). If you have your own van/ self contained vehicle, there is a great spot to park up at the bike park camp ground. We need help during the season (October to April) to keep the grounds maintained and tidy. There's a pump track and jumps, so if you're travelling with your bike and enjoy sessioning jumps then this is ideal for you!! We're working on improving our camping facilities this season, so if you have skills building, landscaping, plumbing, or setting up solar panels then there is the opportunity for some paid work also. If you don't have your own sleeping setup, we do have some large tents that we can set up for you. We also have a self contained area in our rustic but cosy f...

Our community is a colorful, international bunch of nice people, with Austrian, Middle Eastern, Polish, and German roots and many international friends from all over the world. Feri (43) and Lise (50) currently live here permanently. The children, Layla (12) and Aisha (10), visit us regularly on weekends and during holidays. Natalia (30) and her two children, Maja (11) and Damian (7), also come by from time to time when they are not traveling in their camper van. Feri's cousins visit us regularly to enjoy time together and prepare delicious oriental food! We also have many other visitors (friends, helpers, and family) from all over the world. We have a big family and a lot of friends who come from all over the world to visit. We sometimes have family events and could use an extra hand getting things ready—whether that's preparing rooms or other bits and pieces. Don't worry, we don't have paying guests; all our visitors are family and friends. We're living the dream here in Lower Austr...

We have a basic but lovely country home located by the Rangitikei River. We are about 25 minutes from the nearest shop in Hunterville as well as our local pub which is located about 10 minutes away. My husband and I have a 3 year old son Joseph and a 1 year old baby Makayla. We do our best to live off the meat that we hunt and the vegetables we grow. I'm looking for someone to help out with our veggie garden and with general work around the house or with projects that I might be doing at the time of your stay. Our wood shed is currently in need of some repairs so if you are someone that is interested or has experience in building or repairs then you would be a great fit however if this job wouldn't suit you then there's plenty of other chores to do. You'd be looking at around 4 hours of help per day in exchange for food and accommodation. We live on my husband's parents Deer, Sheep and Beef farm. We have 2 pet dogs and a few working dogs as well as some very friendly pet sheep. Che...

*Position now filled *Hello! We are looking for one or ideally two helpers for a large family gathering for a few hours a day over the week of Christmas. You would have accommodation on our property in a lovely cottage and we will offer an agreed payment. We had lovely helpers last year and they had a few extra days in the cottage in lieu of some payment, but we would still pay an agreed amount. Option to stay for Christmas and New Year. Washing up, getting logs, light housework and so on. We are a fun, friendly family ranging from ages 14 to 80, but this year has seen some extreme challenges and bereavement, hence hoping for a little help over the festive period. Perthshire is an exceptional area, boasting fabulous walks, stunning scenery, red squirrels and other amazing wildlife. Dunkeld itself is an excellent central jumping off point to visit so much of the rest of Scotland. We are based at the foot of the Highlands near Dunkeld in Scotland. My husband and I have a 20 acre pro...

Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom.

Cleaning and tidying. Own room, bathroom, internet access and food is provided. You must not have an allergy to bee stings.

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

We are a family of three (our daughter is 3 years old) living on our family farm up the beautiful Clarence valley, half an hours drive north of Kaikoura.

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...
