Our family runs a western riding facility with 30 stalls, where we provide horse boarding and training, including reining and cow work. We also have a western saloon, where we host weddings, special events, and are open for our club members on weekends. In return for cleaning out stalls and feeding horses (and the odd other job), we offer room and board, sorry we cannot host vegetarians; we include you in family activities and you have the possibility to improve your riding skills in western riding (cow work and reining) in our 30 x 60 m arena and - how about -learning some line dancing!! A bicycle is available, if you want to explore the near surroundings. We are located close to Switzerland, it`s about a 15 minutes car ride to Basle, and also only about 20 minutes to Germany. Our area is a great tourist region. If you are mature, fit and self-motivated, willing to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks, experienced with handling horses, we would be happy to hear from you!

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

Looking for a lovely volunteer(s) to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of November. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Maps") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. Hello!I won't be needing volunteers for quite some time. Thanks! My name is Alejandra, and I'm 62 years old. I'm enjoying a new stage in my life: retirement. I'm very happy in the rural paradise of my small village of 400 inhabitants. I live in a beautiful area with spectacular nature and a wonderful climate. I need volunteers who don't smoke or drink alcohol,;drugs...this is ESSENTIAL. I offer room and board in exchange for 20 hours of work per week. For the month of September I will need help with farm work. There will be tasks in two areas: in the garden and vegetable patch surrounding my house and on my property, which is on the outskirts of the village. There are fruit trees to fertilize, olive trees to prune, weeds to clear, potato cultivation, and more. There's also work to be done building a trellis for kiwis. My house is a building constructed using bioclimatic techniques. You can see me and get to know me in the video below. I have Wi-Fi at my house, and you can use it ...

Farm & Country Life – HelpX Opportunity We’re looking for someone who would enjoy spending some time living in a genuine rural farm environment and getting involved with everyday life on the property. This would suit someone who enjoys being outdoors, likes practical work and is happy to get stuck in. You don’t need to be a farmer or have any particular qualifications. Common sense, reliability and a willingness to have a go are far more important. The work is varied and will mainly involve helping keep the property and grounds looking good. Tasks could include: * Mowing lawns and grass areas * Strimming and general grounds maintenance * Chopping, stacking and moving logs * General outdoor jobs and maintenance * Keeping yards, paths and working areas tidy * Helping with occasional jobs around the farm * Some help with the animals when required, although this is only a small part of the role There is no expectation that you already know how to do everything. We’re happy to show you...

I am professional early retired gentleman in my early 60's who lives in a 4 bedroom house with a substantial garden. I seek a helper who will assist with maintaining garden and house and be an engaging companion. House usually has other residents - either tenants or volunteers so there is almost always a little community atmosphere. A private room is provided to all volunteers and house has excellent modern facilities. Also, we often play puzzles, play chess and watch tv movies and TV shows. Listening and sharing music is also a constant activity. Finally walking around Dublin city and exploring the local area is something we do.

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old Cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivation and who's fairly indep...

We farm sheep and beef in the heart of the Catlins, in Tawanui at the start of the popular Catlins river walk. The farm consists of sheep, cattle, four rideable horses and some coloured pet Gotland sheep along with an array of wild deer roaming the hill. Help will consist of some stock work, some fencing, maintenance of all sorts, gardening, firewood and general helping around the house. Always having fun and a good laugh as we work. I don't travel so its nice to meet people from all walks of life and learn about there culture. If you are keen for some work, and want to meet some locals and enjoy the breath taking Catlins, please get in contact.

10min drive to Hot Water Beach/cathedral cove. Not far from the pristine new chums beach. 4 hours work in exchange for food and accommodation. Explore the Coromandel when it's not busy. We have 2-3 weeks work depending if it is a couple or single person. We are mainly gardening at this time if the year, so being physically fit is helpful Other jobs will be cleaning, and wood chipping/ mulching etc We have a large 5 bedroom home. You would have your own room with a queen bed & a single bed. Own shower, or use the main bathroom. Rooms are inside the house, not in a outdoor flat. Free WIFI, sky TV. Nice pets, parking space. We have 3 kids aged 13, 11, and 10. They are good kids, polite and love playing sport. We need a bit of help with planting/landscaping, household cleaning, and a couple of outdoor projects eg washing the house, windows and cleaning gutters etc. We do eat meat so it's ideal that you do to. 90% of our meat is home grown.

NB - just in case you don't get to the end of the profile - we are vegetarian (mostly) - and we don't take picky eaters. - or smokers. We are terracing a steep section (with an amazing view), developing a fernery and planting out an orchard and native hedges. There are fantails and keruru in abundance. Though the development is sometimes hard work, it`s creative and fun. We are getting there but we could do with a bit of help from strong fit people whose knees can handle walking up and down a steep garden - usually with a load on.. We also have work repairing and painting garden furniture. We prefer hosting a couple or 2 friends who are keen gardeners - or have carpentry or brick laying skills - to help with garden maintenance. We also have a couple of hard-landscaping projects involving path construction and maintenance. Ideally, we would like people who are able to work with minimal supervision, who take pride in their work and want to do a job well, who are self-motivated, have ...

****Due to my current volunteer needing to return home due to a medical issue i am currently looking for help on the farm straight away****** Also looking for a Solo traveller to help in the farm shop from the 9th November to around the 18th or so December I have a small petting farm, B&B and farm shop in the Highlands of Scotland - John O'Groats a bucket list destination for many. I bought the farm in Sept 2016 as a running business, there is lots to do to try to get it where i would like to be long term. Running the farm by myself with only so many hours in a day means any help is really appreciated! There are 2 positions available - one is for a solo traveller. working in the farm shop and helping get the B&B ready for guests. The work doesn't involve the animals on the farm directly but you are of course welcome to spend as much time with them as you like, they love people and are very friendly. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

We are happy to host Helpers on our lifestyle block, 15 minutes west of Christchurch with a small mob of Merino sheep and chickens.. Soon I’m going to be minding our 12month old grandson for 5 days early October so would appreciate some help with him. We are also shearing sheep in October and need shed hands. Generally jobs are seasonal like orchard and sheep maintenance. Will be collecting branches and cones after trimming a pine hedge next month. We would like to hear from you if you like physical farm work, gardening and genuinely want to learn while helping us with our home projects and livestock. We have 50 Merino sheep, 30 very free range chickens and extra chick families in spring, 1 dog, 1 cat. There are farm routines like feeding animals, mowing lawns and housework but the demands of farm work change like the weather, so we need flexible helpers to help with a variety of jobs, like landscaping, irrigation, orchard management, gardening, Sheep work and household tasks, cook...

Hello! We’re Clara and Fabien. After having some amazing experiences abroad as HelpX helpers ourselves, we thought it was time to become hosts and welcome travellers into our home. We live in a small mountain village in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees. If you enjoy nature and being outdoors, you’ll probably love it here. In winter, there are ski resorts nearby, snowshoeing, beautiful walks, and plenty of hiking trails starting right from the village. We can host one person or a couple. We’re not looking for perfect helpers—just people who are easygoing, respectful, curious, and happy to share a bit of their daily life with us. During the winter season, we’ll need some help with our Nordic hot tubs. The work is pretty straightforward: getting the tubs ready for guests, carrying and stacking wood, keeping the area tidy, and helping with a few everyday tasks. We’ll explain everything, so no experience is needed. In exchange, we’ll share meals, spend time together, and happily show y...

We are beekeepers in a small village near Bayonne, in the south west of France. We live in an old typical farm of the area with animals (one dog, two cats, chickens and millions of bees). We have near to 150 hundred hives which produce different honeys (heather, chestnut, acacia,...). For that we`re moving it in different areas. We are also making some pastry with our honey and we are selling the production on the local shops. We are also gardening, cooking and doing some DIY works at farm. We would please to welcome to you.

Note to HelpX and travellers! We've been sabotaged by another Host nearby. Some of you might have received slandering messages about us which hold absolutely not truth. We've received multiple copies of these dreatful messages which the Police identified as untrue and so opened a deformation case against this Host. It's really low of character of a Host and quite childish for a Host to not only sabotage, asking Helpers to not join us, or joining her instead. It's even lower to write a warning on her Host profile about us. Truth is that we have done work for this Host, looked after her helpers for quite some time as the many 5 star reviews on her profile can show. We've fed her helpers while overseeing her renovation. We have never been paid. We took our losses and went on with our happy lives. We suggest that the badmouthing Host stops her spite, deletes the negative comments about us on her profile stops sending out defacing untrue comments to other Helpers and goes on with live. ...

Openings for fall .... Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this FALL with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and all other photos are of my house...

We are a family of four (becoming five as we are expecting a baby in early October!) who live on a beautiful homestead in northern British Columbia, Canada. We have two daughters, aged 8 and 10, who are homeschooled and are with us every other week. We also have dogs, chickens, ducks, a horse (who currently lives nearby but off the property) and a large organic vegetable & fruit garden. Our property borders Ross Lake provincial park, and the lake is a five minute walk/bike ride down the road, where we can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing and trail networks. We are only five minutes’ drive from the town and amenities of New Hazelton, which is rich with Gitxsan Indigenous culture and pioneer history. We are seeking help with childcare (spending time with our two older children), farm/garden tasks, and/or building projects during the months of September and October. We are just too busy welcoming our new baby, trying to harvest our food from this summer’s garden, and renovating the house...

We are located in the heart of Malaga, one of Europe's most exciting and diverse cities. With its vibrant cultural scene, world-class museums, historic landmarks, countless cafés, parks, and excellent public transport. I would kindly ask you to help with painting, fencing, gardening, sweeping leaves, cleaning and maintaining the house, as well as feeding and caring for the animals. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy your free time. You will have your own private room, and I will provide breakfast and one warm meal each day. If you enjoy cooking in a holistic and nutritious way, you are more than welcome to do so. I am always happy to share my knowledge about healthy food and learn from others as well. I am not just looking for someone to help with daily tasks—I would like to offer a meaningful cultural exchange and create a positive experience together. If you are interested in meditation, mindfulness, personal growth, or self-discovery, this could be the right place for you. ...

My name is Paul. About 17 years ago I had this slightly crazy dream of changing my life from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer in the Swedish countryside. Somehow, 17 years later, here we are :) Norrängens is our 100-acre farm just outside Sala, about an hour from Stockholm. We have around 70 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, rabbits, a turkey, my cat Sexy, the kids’ cat Vernon and Malta, our farm dog. I have three children, Liam (22), Dylan (13) and Oscar (10). Liam has grown up and moved away from home. Dylan and Oscar live between me and their mum, although sometimes they seem to spend more time here :) When they’re here they’re part of farm life and help out when they can. This is our home and our little family as well as being a farm. Things are quite different here from a few years ago. We used to run a much bigger and busier tourism operation. These days things are smaller and quieter. The economy has been a bit of a struggle, if I’m honest, and this y...

After managing hostel and B&B for 20 years I've just starter a new project. I bought a new house (currently under construction) and a piece of land (approximately 28000 m2) in order to make my home and kind of permaculture community so there are still many things to do. For now volunteers would be housed in the small wooden house in the picture which has a double bed , wardrobe and kitchenette, there is no bathroom but you can use the tiny house for toilette and any electricity use. I just started to make a food forest and also many veggie garden and I would like to enlarge it in order to increase the number of grown plants. The help would mainly consists of land maintenance (cleaning, farming, fruit harvesting, planting trees, construction and refurbishment of infrastructure, irrigationetc.) but there will be also time for various briefings (e.g. how to graft and prune trees) and fun. Food would primarily consists of fruits and vegetables in season major part coming from our own prod...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Cheers Al

Our house and garden is in the town of Órgiva south of the historic city of Granada in the region of Andalucía. Órgiva is situated in a valley called La Alpujarra with the Sierra Nevada mountains to the north and the Sierra Lújar and Contraviesa to the south and the Mediterranean beyond. With a population of 8000, the town has ample amenities with plenty of shops, bars, banks and restaurants. Our property, La Parra ( the Vine), is in the center of town but with an unusually large garden ( 1800m2 ). We ask our helpers to work 5 hours per day 5 days a week in exchange for board and lodging (good food and great accommodation). We have had helpers from all parts of the world for more than 14 years (formerly we had a large property called Las Chimeneas and the Órgiva Tea Garden) and are very used to enjoying their help and company.

We suggest that the badmouthing Host stops her spite, deletes the negative comments about us on her profile stops sending out defacing untrue comments to other Helpers and goes on with live.
