We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Dear Friendly People, My name is Böbe and I'm a Dutch and English speaking Hungarian teacher. I moved from Hungary to Spain with my 2 dogs and 5 cats on the 23rd May, 2025. Forever. I left my home country because without helpers I couldn't managed that big farm of 1.5 Ha. In place of that ranch I bought 2 small apartments for renting. We're living in a very peaceful area of San Miguel de Salinas, its name is "Communicationes". Almost nothing to do if you want to find entertaining. The main part of San Miguel de Salinas is about 2.5 km. I find a way to entertain myself: I walk at least 5km a day with my dogs in the forest nearby. And sometimes walk to a castle- restaurant about 2.5 km far from home. It can be nice if you know something about dietary requirements for my Lovely Geir. He has: diabetes, gout and inflammation in all his joints. Painful, but I can't motivate him enough to move more. Thanks if you can come! We can offer: an independent apartment on the ground flo...

For 2026, we are very happy to welcome applications for longer stays - 1, 2, 3 or even 6 months. I have been commissioned to write THE book on vegan self sufficiency. If are here in the first half of 2026, you can very much be involved in the production! We are on a mission here to build a beautiful vegan community, dedicated to thinking about climate change and how to be Better People. This year we will be finishing the running water, the hot showers and the vineyard! You can come and learn everything there is to know about self sufficiency - water, energy, food and more. At the minute, I can offer either accommodation only, in exchange for about 8 - 10 hours a week, or a more traditional work-exchange of food and board and all that goes with it in return for 5 hours a day doing the things which need to be done! We cook and eat together as much as you want. For the right long term applicant, we may be able to help with some of your travel costs. The barracks are a disused former ...

This beautiful, 2.5 hectare garden, set in the heart of Haute-Normandie Pays de Caux near the English Channel and whose light inspired the Impressionist movement, which can be loosely translated as an Arthouse garden. This is not a run of the mill HelpX destination. There is a real opportunity to learn and have a totally unique experience while staying in the 17th century Priory in the centre of the garden. Cécile, the gardening artist or artistic gardener (she conforms to both), welcomes you to join her in this artistic gardening adventure. Previous experience of gardening and some basic French are welcome but not essential as Cecile can get by in English, Spanish and German and will teach you all you need to know; the work, of course, changes with the seasons and can be a variety of brute force and delicate sensitivity but never forgetting that this is an artistic adventure and is open to the public. Help Xers are invited to food and accommodation in return for an average of 5/6 ho...

All kind of maintenance, cleaning and gardening help is most welcome! I have repaired an old house in a nice little village of Sardegna. Now we (me and my friends) need some help from March until May 2026. Take in consideration that we are energetic people in age between 60-80 so there might not be young people around in working hours. The village is surrounded by natural beauty, the mountains and the sea (15 km). Local people are friendly and joyful. Work changes every day and in different places (vgardens in the village or in countryside), mostly gardening, watering, repairing, painting and cleaning in the house I rent for tourists. There are lots of interesting things to do (climbing, trekking, beaches etc.) and people to meet. There will be work 5 hours a day for 5 days a week. You will have your own room in the village house, good local food and free wifi:)

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Currently the main focus is on landscaping, forging a pathway up the hill via carving out soil on one side and adding to the other side, creating little embankment walls in the process. Most of these embankments will be made from recycled Oamaru natural stone, a few with recycled glass bottles. Our white Oamaru sandstone has attracted various sculptors to our town, because it is soft enough to be cut and carved...

I would call myself the follower of The Path, wherever that might lead while taking full responsibility for my life and equally enjoying the good, the bad and the ugly. "Conservative hippie" is the phrase which I eagerly stole and adopted. Away from the "world" village is located in southwest mountaines of Serbia. Accomoditation in the house where no one lived for 20+ years, but I have for the past four (4 years). It is ever changing with new additions of kitchen, dining area and veranda. Building the bathroom and the new roof is the current big project, together with fencing the wood so the goats and chickens could roam around more freely. Do you want to help and be part of this once in a lifetime adventure? If you like living a sober and awake life, using natural elevation tools like exercising, praying or meditating then say YES! River/stream Prištevica, with fresh and cold water is around 1.5 km away. First neighbors behind the hills. The spring (water) running in front of th...

We are Axel and Mônica (both 51). We are living in Portugal and our house with 3000 squaremeters of land is in a small village in the countryside of the beautiful Algarve. We can offer accommodation (bedroom - as you can see on the picture - and separate bathroom for you) and meals of course. Behind the village the mountains start, so here is a lot of nature, the beaches are 30km away. The next town (Messines) is 4km away, the next village about 1km. We need helpers from end of February 2026 for three weeks for some work in our garden.. We prefer a couple or two friends, but if you are a single helper, you can contact us as well. Helpers are very welcome to our house!

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station. I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer I have lived here all my life and can introduce you...

WE PARTICULARLY NEED HELPERS IN SEPTEMBER TO HELP WITH THE APPLE HARVEST, I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I live with my husband Richard who is also retired, and we have one dog. Our children and grandchildren play a large part in our lives, we often take care of the small children, and sometimes they come to stay. We will help the volunteer to improve their English, and you have a comfortable bedroom and bathroom and good food which is mainly vegetarian. We now live in a bungalow very close to the beach, and since we have only recently moved in there are so many jobs to sort out. We love growing both food and flowers, so in addition to quite a large garden we also have an allotment where we are learning to grow our favourite foods. There is a small orchard in our garden, ten apple and four pear trees, which need lots of work towards the end of August and for all of September. We also have plenty of winter work - one big job is hanging ...

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

Hello and welcome to beautiful Nelson! I recently sailed back to Nelson from Tonga and my yacht requires a bit of maintenance after sailing in the tropics for a few months. I have a comfortable private room available for 1 or 2 persons (female or male) who are interested in assisting me to clean and prepare my yacht for the coming summer sailing season. Maintenance jobs are varied and not hard, hospitality involves general housekeeping duties. I will assist with both maintenance and housekeeping, am happy to teach when necessary and always willing to listen to suggestions. As for sailing.. I enjoy occasionally sailing to the Abel Tasman National Park and going for hikes when the weather is cooperating. My yacht has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen and saloon. I am generally a quiet person who enjoys reading, conversation and exercise. This is important - I do not permit drugs aboard my yacht and only light drinking (no parties). The ideal helper(s) will be detail oriented...

In summer, it becomes lively and festive with local food markets, concerts and medieval fairs. Our home lies on the edge of a small village, surrounded by 18 hectares of nature along the riverside.
