Some of the first olives and grapes on Banks Peninsula on this 13-acre (5.8 hectare) wooded property we bought in late 2023. I am American, French, and Kiwi and have taken a break from my career to focus on developing the farm activities here. My Thai/kiwi partner works in town and joins me on the weekend. We have a small vineyard of chardonnay and pinot noir, around 100 olive trees, a large and growing veggie patch, and will have a few head of cattle and sheep as soon as we finish some fencing projects. Helpers will stay in the modern house with beautiful views of the harbour and will have their own bathroom. There are two guest rooms with queen beds so I can accommodate 1 or 2 helpers or couples. I will provide meals and lodging in exchange for half-days of help with the farm, e.g. gardening, pruning, spraying (organic), livestock care, developing walking paths in the bush, splitting wood, etc. this can be organized in half-days or blocked together so that helpers have comple...

Kia Ora, I am an older person, ex Primary School/ ESOL/ Drama teacher and Events Organiser. I have a two bedroom cottage with a small garden on the flat, in a historic, friendly, alternative area. The area is also quiet, green and home to many native birds and has a number of bush walks and bike trails. The street also has a electric vehicle charging station. My house is located in the fringe suburb of Aro Valley in Central Wellington. The house is an easy 15-20 min walk to the CBD or a 10min bus ride. As well it is a 10 min walk to the Aro shops, which contains cafes, a bar and a restaurant, Mini Mart and a shop where you can purchase fish n chips/ takeaways, plus a variety of other stores. I am well travelled and very much enjoy the company of people from cultures other than my own. I have previously hosted homestay students from China and Japan via the local university. I have lived overseas teaching in international schools in China, Russia and Turkey. I am still a healthy, acti...

Kia ora Helpxers, We invite you to come and be our Helpxer/s and enjoy our wonderful, warm and sunny location with a spectacular view of Tasman Bay. Our place is 7km from central Nelson. The Nelson Tasman region is a very popular region for travellers, with access to the Abel Tasman National Park being just over an hour away. From our place, you can ride the bicycle trail into town, taking about 20 minutes, or there is a bus stop not far away, or even better, if you have your own transport. We designed and built our own passive solar house, constructed from Adobe Earth Blocks, a sustainable and eco-friendly method of building, using local materials such as clay and straw. It keeps everyone cool on the hot days and warm and dry on the coolest! Our preference is to host you for up to one week or more if it suits. We ask for four hours helping out each day, but are flexible for longer days, so you may take a day or two off to explore our beautiful region. We have a few projects in pr...

The property is a small Beef cattle farm on the mid-north coast. Located 40 minutes drive from Port Macquarie town and beaches and 20 minutes from Wauchope and the nearest train station. This place is a really good option for someone on their way between Sydney and Brisbane who wants to break the trip for a few weeks. We are a couple with an adult son who is away at University. We have horses, chickens, ducks,3 dogs and cattle. We have a 2nd farm near Kempsey where we run cattle so sometimes we go over there to work as well. My husband and I both work from home although sometimes I have to spend days away doing fieldwork. We would expect between 3-5 hrs work a day, depending on what needs to be done, with 1 day off each week, usually a weekday, a lift into town can be arranged. Accommodation is in our house, and you will eat with the family. I would appreciate sharing the cooking and cleaning. Wi-Fi available, non-smokers only. The usual chores will involve some gardening or g...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome - to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years caring for this whenua, there are mature trees, orchards and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, protecting our native forest, birds, lizards and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent, mature helpers who have work & life experience. Update (3rd Dec 2025): We will not have any accommodation available for Helpx until February 2026. Hi there, We are a friendly couple living 12km west from the town of Esperance, near the (not pink!) Pink Lake. We would love some help with general maintenance tasks on our 5 hectare property. You need to have your own car to stay at our place. We both have full-time jobs running our business, Lucky Bay Brewing (located on the east side of Esperance near Bandy Creek boat harbour). Our home is surrounded by natural bush with lots of bird life, with a fruit orchard, olive grove, a dog, .... and did have a large organic vegetable garden, chickens & ducks. However, our vegetable garden and chicken house are currently not functional, due to our busy work-life - so these are the main tasks we really want some help with. We love meeting people from other places around the world and sharing experiences. We'll share our home with you and our favourite local places, and even take you to ou...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

...The Quiet Retreat, a Lifestyle Property...!!! I am located in the north of the East Coast of Tasmania. With only the help of real hard working wwoofer's/ HelpX'ers , I started to build the house and clear the land here 25 years ago, so this place is a BIG BIG credit to all my helpers who worked hard, enjoyed their stay and left their footprint..! I feel that for the helpers who come here, maybe, apart from the usual work, self improvement/development could be one of their priorities... a good library of books is available and some very nice music...and of course "grumpy" me and please understand that I am not a good cook, so help there is esp. welcome, vegetarian only. The good cook mentioned in a lot of reviews has moved on . In the past I practiced meditation/looked at Zen/Osho/Vipassana etc, now I am in the winter years of my life ...LOL..( YES, read the latest feedback carefully, "he says with a smile).. I love music and most of the time there is music in the house. Thi...

Hi. We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a puppy and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accommodation, meals (please provide your own snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found his way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g. 1 or 2 weeks or months stay but ...

Landscaping, gardening and general help on our rural property located on the stunning Tutukaka Coast in Northland. Having just completed a four year project overseeing and participating in the build of our new home, we now face a massive landscaping job. Neither of us are as young as we once were and our backs are reminding us of that, the curse of ageing! But we have big plans for our garden next. . A strong fit young man who enjoys working outdoors in our beautiful environment will enjoy it here, and you may learn some new skills working alongside Paul, who is very handy. We have hosted a variety of fabulous different nationalities to date and mutually enjoyed working together, sharing our different backgrounds and learning from one another. We offer a beautiful coastal environment close to lots of interesting beaches and locations nearby to explore and we have the blackest night skies, which we prefer to sit outside under rather than watch TV in the evenings. We cook local meat...

Pierce is originally from Ireland, travelled much of Europe as a HelpX volunteer, Couchsurfer and hiker. Cecilia - Portuguese, spent time traveling doing similarly in past. Now we have settled in Mira de Aire, on the edge of the Serra de Aire e Candeiros nature reserve, in a little house with a garden. And recently have reached the stage that we can host guests :D want to be our first volunteer here? We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 3 hens and various regular animal visitors to the garden. Type of work to be done: - general DIY to improve the home - gardening, planting, making new beds - helping at home (cooking/cleaning) - playing with, walking & tiring out our dogs We try to do all things with permaculture ideals in mind - but we're pragmatic about how to do things. You'll have your own contained space in the 'wee house' with its own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. All mod cons - hot water, electric, WiFi, cooker fridge etc We prefer if volunteers help with the cooking and general ti...

WELCOME to the Human Rewilding Project. We are young married couple coming from very different cultures and upbringings. We are living our dream of experiencing what it means to be alive as a proper human being. And that on our own land in one of the most beautiful and wild corners of Scotland. We aspire to become self sufficient in all we need for a happy and healthy life. Our house and the main parts of the croft lie on a hill with a breathtaking view onto Oldshoremore Beach. The view from our living room or from the garden invite for frequent moments of still admiration and gratitude. Alexa grew up on a Finca in the jungle of Costa Rica within her tribe, the Boruca. She was born into a lineage of healers and understands deeply the ways of plants and other beings. She learned from her elders about natural health, herbal remedies and energy work. One of her many missions is to pass on her shamanic knowledge and thus keeping alive her indigenous heritage. But the most important one...

I am developing the property by planting a native forest, a vinyard, fruit and vegetables. For around 4 hours help mostly outside (weather dependent) you get good food and accommodation with your own room and bathroom. I love eating good food, yoga, fishing, swimming, travelling, music and good company.

I work at our local kura (scho...

I live on an organic farm about 15km from Kerikeri. It's a short walk to Lake Manuwai which is great for swimming and kayaking. There are beautiful bushwalks close by, a canyon and the Kauri forest. I am developing the property by planting a native forest, a vinyard, fruit and vegetables. For around 4 hours help mostly outside (weather dependent) you get good food and accommodation with your own room and bathroom. I love eating good food, yoga, fishing, swimming, travelling, music and good company.
