We purchased this beautiful château in the Loire Valley in 2013 and with HelpXers like yourself, we worked tirelessly to renovate it, taking it from its dilapidated state to the current splendour of a modern 21st century castle. There is still a large space to renovate, as well as finishing touches all around the château, so we get excited if you have trade skills to offer. We'd like to add up lights and down lights around the moat and the building, so if you have electrical skills, that could be very handy! We are keen to invite interested people here for longer periods of time. We ask ideally a minimum stay of two weeks with us, but longer periods are possible to the suitable people. We love positive enthusiastic people, who enjoy all that life offers and can share that energy with those around them. If you like working in the garden or have general handyman skills... we would love to hear from you. We would also love a stonemason to join us, as we always have a few stones t...

Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We’re a mature couple who work in the city and live on a small farm - a peaceful retreat from the urban rush. Our companions are a few horses and dogs. Most of them came to us from the rescued shelter and in poor condition. With time, care, and patience, we’ve helped them heal. Our farm isn’t a commercial venture; it’s simply a quiet, cozy place to live close to nature. We’re looking for a reliable helper - someone who’s interested in staying with us long-term. What we offer: - Private accommodation in a converted sea container, fully equipped with a gas stove, shower, refrigerator, and other essentials. - Groceries provided - you prepare your own meals. - Free internet access (limited). We can also offer guidance and support with the residency application process for those who wish to stay long-term. If you’re over 25, love animals, enjoy farm life, and consider yourself hardworking, responsible, and adaptable - we’d be happy to welcome you. ...

Next vacancies likely to be 2nd week of September. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We hatched two goslings in mid July and are hand-rearing them, real characters! We start 4 hours outside work at 08.00 hr, five mornings a week and at 9 am on Sundays. Saturday is your day off. So most of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops. ‍ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course, rainforest walks and river swimming (Mossman River at The Gorge) and free nature tours on crocodile spotting boats on the Daintree River with the #Daintreerivercruisecentre (as Dave sometimes drives their boats and tour-guides for them when needed). We are establishing a m...

Hello, i would be happy for help. There is a lot to do on this place, mostly in the garden. Technical help, e.g. installation of solar panel, building a greenhouse, renovation of an old cattle house would also be needed. A carpenter and a bricklayer would be also great. We are vegetarian ! :-) We are a couple in our best age, and are here since 5 years. We want to build a small place for meditation and Qi Gong here. We want this to become a place for living and coming together. We would be happy to meet you.

Welcome to Byron Hinterland paradise! We live on an amazing 120 acre bush property about 25 minutes from Bryon Bay, 15 mins from Mullumbimby on an intention community with 6 other families in a beautiful valley, Our land is a wildlife reserve with plentiful native animals about. It’s gorgeous here with a pristine creek at the door step, waterfalls and national park just up the road. I have a big old Queenslander house, which I moved to the land 30 years ago. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Join myself and my wife on our 3 acre property, in the northern suburbs of Perth, which needs some extra hands to bring the style back to it. I'm looking for a backpacker, male or female or even both, to help around our property. Gardening and landscaping mainly, but may include some light building works, like stone wall building, kerbing, even bricklaying and carpentry. No experience is necessary, just common sense. If you are looking for to improve your conversational English, then we are more than happy to help. You will enjoy your own detached modern accommodation during your stay, (see attached 'You Tube' video) with basic cooking facilities, but maybe also an occasional evening meal with us. We are only a short distance from some of the best beaches in Australia with kilometers of golden sand looking out on the Indian Ocean. Also, a good selection of Supermarkets, pubs and restaurants are within walking or bicycle distance. And a 5 mins car trip takes you to the nearest Per...

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

We (Riley, Serene and Bood) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This place is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). That said, it can get very wet in summer and early autumn; our wet season. Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, cassowary and hundreds of other bird species. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening, in the orchard and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for one or two h...

Hi, I am just editing my post to make it relevant. We are on the North Shore of Sydney at Turramurra, half an hour by fast train to the city about seven minutes walk from Turramurra station. . . My son in his 60's lives in the small unit in the garden and I live here in the house with my two dogs, Tilly and Tommy. Sadly my husband has recently passed away. We eat early about 6.30/7.00pm and the evenings are your own. Generally we work together for 4 hours each day from 8.30a.m. and I provide all your meals. Sometimes we work all one day and you have all the next day free which makes it easier for you if you want to go sightseeing. We have had wonderful helpers staying with us this year, and over the past years since 2017 have met fabulous folk from all over the world. Our latest lovely hepxer has just gone back to France where he goes back to University in a couple of weeks to do his Masters. I am actually hoping to find a strong yo...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

We are still welcoming volunteers from September to November for 2-4 week stays. Particularly if you enjoy strenuous physical work, including chopping wood. We are a clifftop ecological microfarm on a quarter acre at the westernmost tip of the stunning Beara peninsula in West Cork, Ireland, focused on salad-vegetable production. Now that autumn is here, the work becomes much more physical, with wheelbarrowing in manure every week and making and turning compost heaps, so it really helps if you are strong. We also have a massive wood pile that needs moving and chopping to clear an area that we are hoping to use for next spring. Until the end of October, I will still be harvesting vegetables twice a week, and there will be small amounts of sowing, transplanting, and weeding, so lots to talk about in the garden. At the same time, we are fixing up a small hut as a short-term rental, so if you are interested in carpentry, pouring a new concrete roof, painting, or replacing windows, there...

We need some help with all sorts of chores on a small farm and you will be along side us with positive attitudes and friendly smiles. We have a queen bedroom spare for you. Please don't hesitate to send us a message asking anything about us or our property. Cheers Rus and Morty.

We ALWAYS need some able bodied helpers with assist with goat feeding and some light garden maintenance on my son's farm.. I have loved planting a garden there for them as they are so busy developing their beautiful farm. We favour couples with their own transport if possible. At the moment we are looking for people to help with some house painting in between feeding baby goats which may be born soon. Our son and his family have a small mixed farm of 60 acres nearby (approx 25 hectares) which they are tirelessly working on to develop it as a farm stay with miniature cattle and goats, chickens, two riding horses, ducks and guinea fowl. etc. along with an abundance of local birds and animals. We put his Instagram and Facebook links below. There are a multitude of small jobs needing to done, attending to the animals welfare as well as in the developing garden. The work is not hard with small weeds etc needing to be removed, easy work but rewarding. You will be housed and fed at our hom...

Hello! My name is Brandy, I'm a horticulturist and I care for our 40 hectare property, which is a mix of regenerating native forest, exotic forest and pasture, as well as gardens and fruit trees by the house. My husband Kyle and I moved out of the city in search of a quiet, self sustainable life. We have three cats, chooks, and a few dozen Arapawa sheep roaming around. We love growing food from our land and sharing over good wine, good chats and hearty laughs. There is always so much to do around here so we are happy to get to know you and your skillsets/ambitions to find enjoyable tasks on the property. These could include landscaping and gardening, propagation of trees, firewood splitting, building and woodwork, painting, food prep, cleaning, tending to animals, conservation, track building and so much more. The accommodation is a guesthouse separate from the house with bathroom and kitchenette. We are approximately 25-30 minutes from Motueka - there is no public transport arou...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

After 16 years, and hosting almost 100 HelpXers, at our property in Larnook, in the Northern Rivers region, Steve and I have moved to a new place in Tenterfield, at the northern end of the New England Tableland. All of our reviews up until September 2024, are related to our previous place. We are now ready to accept HelpXers at our new place. Steve and I are a gay couple and we offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Tenterfield, the more you will get out of it. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, establishing herb and vege gardens, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated a few kilometers west of the town of Tenterfield, in a quiet, rural area. We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (for checking emails, looki...

This is what we are about in a nutshell: Inner peace for a compassionate world. You will be helping us to prepare this place for residential retreat and short break visitors to open fully in 2026. We will be hosting well-being, personal-development, meditation and similar groups as well as some guests who are holidaying in the area. The group retreats operates as a community interest company. During the Summer / Autumn 2026 we are doing a lot of internal building work [building new timber stud walls, putting plaster boards up], decorating [painting walls] and grounds maintenance. So plenty of opportunity to increase your practical skills and gain experience in renovating. We will also be hosting guests and retreats. and part of your work may be preparing rooms for their arrival. We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness. We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer here and wha...

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FROM MID OCTOBER TO NOVEMBER. We are a family of four and have small farm at the coast of the Baltic sea close to Oskarshamn. The farmhouse is more than a hundred years old and is located just a few meters away from a lake, which we can use exclusively for fishing, swimming and anything else. A good work-life-balance is very important for us, and this is also what we have in mind for our helpers. It's not only working here, we also want to show our helpers the laid back Swedish lifestyle here at the Eastern coast. Both sides should feel that they did benefit from your stay at our place. Hein: I was born in the north of Germany, and my profession as a carpenter has a very important role in the realization of our dream life. I’ve always felt at home out in nature, fishing, sailing or mushroom picking,. I like to work in the garden and cultivate home-grown fruits and vegetables. Astrid: I love living in the nature and the freedom here in Sweden. By pr...

Hello everyone!!! Namaste! This is an organic farm & retreat center located in the Himalayan foothills. We offer unique spiritual pilgrimages, organic food (as much as possible except when there are instances that we cannot produce our own), agricultural farming classes, tantra yoga, sound healing, Chandi mantra chanting & meditation courses. - I am Shree Krishna Shrestha, the owner of this lovely farm and I live here with my 57 year old wife, Sarita Shrestha and our 22 year old daughter who has recently returned back home from studying abroad. I also have two sons who live with their families about 30 minutes far in the town below our village. I have been doing silent meditation for about 5-6 years now and plan to do 4 more years during which I choose not to speak, communicate through text messages or signs, eat a vegetarian diet with no salt mainly consisting of our own cow milk, yogurt, roti/chapati and boiled potatoes. My family started this farm in 1991 with the dream of being o...

Hi guys I am Frank from Germany, i lived here for nearly 20 years. We are an organic farm on a small, remote island in the Oki Islands, around 60 km off the coast of mainland Japan. Summer here is beautiful — the sea is never far away and there are plenty of opportunities to swim and enjoy the island — but we are first and foremost a **working farm**, and summer is one of our busiest times of the year. We grow around 10–15 different vegetables and herbs, as well as some fruit. Our produce is sold to local shops, restaurants and hotels, to people in the community, and increasingly to customers outside the island. We also have chickens for eggs and a herd of around 50 goats, including this year's young goats. Everything on the farm is run according to organic and sustainable principles. I also have a background as a carpenter, so we build and repair a lot of things ourselves rather than simply buying everything new. What we’ll be doing this summer There is always plenty to do, a...

My place is like a little community within the community- but we all have our private space! I need some HELP as i am moving back into my house after being away for a few years. This means sorting and unpacking boxes, moving some light furniture and helping me decide what to keep or give away. There will also be some cleaning involved and if you can fix things that would be amazing. I am an open, fun mature woman is both a counsellor and artist . I have an arts practice and also work in remote indigenous arts centres in th...
