Hello, thank you for visiting my profile. I am looking for a helper (or two) to start as soon as possible on our farm in Co. Wexford, Ireland. The work would involve around four to five hours work per day, milking, feeding cows, fencing off fields, herding, general tidying around the farmyard, and preparations for the calving season. We can offer lovely accommodation in a new-build apartment attached to our house with its own private entrance. It has WiFi, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room (including a TV). It is very well insulated and cosy. All meals will be provided and we can cater to vegetarians. My name is Paul. About 17 years ago I had this slightly crazy dream of changing my life from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer in the Swedish countryside. We are a small-scale, organic vegetable farm in Palmer, Alaska. We grow an array of beautiful produce which includes carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, brussel sprouts, romanesco, broccoli, potatoes, rhubarb, onions, beets, and many more. All of the vegetables we sell at local farmers markets are grown by us and are free of pesticides, GMOs, and chemicals. We not only believe that people should feel connected to their food, but we also feel that it should be delicious, healthy, and accessible. Work on the farm varies by season. In the Spring we spend our time prepping the field, sewing seeds, growing transplants, cultivating those seeds in the field, weeding, and watering. As we move into summer and fall helpers will have the opportunity to harvest and sell the fruits and vegetables that have been growing the past few months at the local farmers’ markets.
