We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. Dear Helpers Spring is here and we all have a lot to do. Gardening is in full swing. But there's still work to be done in the forest and the firewood for next winter isn't ready yet. The compost still needs to be made, and so on. The blueberry harvest starts at the end of June and lasts until the beginning of August, so there's a lot to do during this time! We hope to find motivated people who also want to enjoy the pool and nature in our region. This is a small old farm with a lot living space for rent. We have 6ha land to gardening, for animals and forest. 2 Highland cattle mothers and 1 calf and a bull are on the pasture. Hello, I'm traveling by inland river barge through Europe, especially France, Belgium and Holland. The barge is an original Dutch built peniche and made for the old French channels. I still transport cargo and I am the third generation of a shipper family from both sides of my parents. I live and work alone on the barge sometimes accompanied by my girlfriend. There is a simple separate -little- room (see photo..) for guests in the front of the barge which is not suite. (no sanitation, but there is a chemical toilet and lavabo) Also a heating system, fridge/freezer and micro-wave. Salut, Je suis installée depuis août 2016 dans une magnifique ferme en grès rose dans le Nord de l'Aveyron et depuis 2019 j'y vis avec ma fille et mon compagnon. Nous y avons déjà accueillis 2 chats, un chien, des moutons et des poules. Nous avons aussi planté un vaste verger et un potager en permaculture. Mais nous avons encore du pain sur la planche pour mettre en place une ferme permaculturelle et pédagogique: entretenir le potager et le verger, rénover la ferme, accueillir d'autres animaux, organiser le système d'eau et d'énergie... Notre mode de vie est assez simple, essayant de produire le moins de déchet possible en utilisant beaucoup de récup' et de recyclage. Nous cuisinons et nous nous chauffons au bois. Nous démarrons une ferme que nous avons achetée en janvier 2023 ! Nous sommes un couple avec 2 enfants de 5 et 7 ans. Notre projet est de monter un collectif d'habitats et d'activités et nous souhaitons accueillir encore 3 ou 4 adultes, avec ou sans enfants. Ici il y a 8 brebis + 3 agnelles, 4 vaches + 1 veau, 40 poules, Oies, Canards, 3 chats, des centaines d'oiseaux... dans la forêt, avec chevreuils, cerfs, sangliers... La ferme fait 9ha, entourée de forêts, au bout d'une impasse, vue dégagée et ensoleillé en plein cœur des Baronnies Pyrénéennes (entre Lannemezan et Bagnères). C'est le tout début de la ferme, nous sommes vraiment en "chantier structuration et mise en place" : il y en a partout à faire! I currently have the basics set up in my re-purposed barn, including solar paneled electricity, fridge, charging for phones, laptops during day. Composting toilet, separate ladies no 1s toilet. Simple showers, we fill with buckets water from river. That warms quickly in the Mediterranean sun or you can heat hot water over our cooking fire. Nous sommes éleveur de chevaux arabes, arabe-barbes et anglo-arabes et nous avons une trentaine de chevaux en moyenne, dont des retraités, des poulains, et des adultes qui sont montés. Nos autres animaux sont 2 chiens, un malinois guide de chevaux, et une micro beagle réformée des laboratoires, et des poules qui vivent en liberté. Il est donc primordial d'aimer aussi les chiens, car les deux là sont très invasifs pour avoir des câlins... Our organic mountain farm (800 m altitude) 50 km south of Grenoble is located in the Vercors regional park in the Alps. Our main activity is horse breeding on 120ha and 300ha of mountain pastures. We breed Mérens (a hardy mountain breed), ponies and a few donkeys. In summer, we visit our 2 mountain pastures located between 1,300 m and 2,2000 m altitude, both for the pleasure of hiking and to keep an eye on the horses. We have set up a wolf-protection system for our twenty or so ewes. We have 4 cuddly, non-aggressive protection dogs (patous). With 100 horses to feed, cuddle and break in for outdoor riding, riders are welcome to take part in our activities at their own pace and manage their “work” time. Our family runs a western riding facility with 30 stalls, where we provide horse boarding and training, including reining and cow work. We also have a western saloon, where we host weddings, special events, and are open for our club members on weekends. In return for cleaning out stalls and feeding horses (and the odd other job), we offer room and board, sorry we cannot host vegetarians; we include you in family activities and you have the possibility to improve your riding skills in western riding (cow work and reining) in our 30 x 60 m arena and - how about -learning some line dancing!! A bicycle is available, if you want to explore the near surroundings. We are located close to Switzerland, it`s about a 15 minutes car ride to Basle, and also only about 20 minutes to Germany.
