We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

We are a young french couple with a child Eleo (2,5years) who are living in the Hautes-Pyrénées, near Lannemezan. Fabien is mountain guide, and Charlene is farmer. We have a big garden with medicinals plants and vegetables. We are experimenting different ways to cultivate. We are always satisfied to learn various agricultural technicals. It is important for us to use all the resources that we have on the spot, plants, trees, compost, shearing, rather than to bring elements from outside. We sell our production with two market by week so it's lot of work! We have 15 cheeps, lots of chickens and 4 cats. And we have 15 dunkeys of Pyrénées in the place to eat grass and to work with Fabien for montain trecking. The activities are diverse: mainly of the gardening(weeding, ground work, seedling, plant and transplant), take care a few sheeps, sort out seeds and spices, make the picking of wild plants, prepare herb teas and prepare the market. The place is an ancient castle from the 14th century that we try to bring back to glory. We created a garden for organic diversity and ecology. It needs gardening and maintenance, mostly with trees and plants, and harvesting fruits and vegetables when time comes. Also taking care of some ducks and chickens, like opening their place in the morning with food and closing it in the evening. Helping on wood construction can also be needed if possible. We are usually 3 adults and 2 kids living on the place, with sometimes visits from people interrested in the project. We also have a great book collection of many subjects available to everyone, and very often we do a musical jam to play with friends and open to everyone that want to learn music.

Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longĂšre' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

My companion Kent just passed away and now it is me, my son Dylan and his little two and a half year living in this big stone house in the Cévennes.. Dylan is Franco american and I am French. The house has two appartments two apartments. We have a 3 year old dog part time. The house is 2km away from the village of valleraugue in a little hamlet, close to the river. The house is surrounded by a little garden. This area is known for its preserved nature and hiking environment. We have an extra bedroom to offer to a helper in the upstairs apartment. What I need now is someone to help me pack Kent's art studio with all of his artwork. We are having to move out of our house in a few months and as we accumulated lots of stuff it is a big job. I can give rides to the village or surrounding areas. There are buses coming to a city close by from Nimes and Montpellier, Ideally a helper could stay a week or two and we would offer simple lodging and food.

We have a large house with 33,000 sq m of land located in Domancy, Haute Savoie, French Alps, between Chamonix and Megeve. We have spare accomodation in a separate apartment for a person or mature couple who would like to spend a few weeks in this region in return for labour in the garden and forest. This would involve gardening tasks, maintenance, or general assistance. Good opportunity to learn English or French, and spend time in the mountains. It's a family home, not a working farm. Building / maintenance skills would be a plus but strong muscles and a good sense of humour would be even nicer !. Own transport preferred but not essential. There's a lake 2km away for swimming and paddle boarding, and lots to do in your time off. We have two Labrador dogs and two cats, all super friendly. We have a project to build a natural pool in our garden and are looking for helpers who love being outdoors and don't mind hard work ! Looking for help over summer 2025 August to October

Lost in the middle of 14 000 ha of forest, we developed and run a small eco campsite with lots of projects for enthusiastic volunteers. Being volunteers ourselves for a few years around the world, we're also happy to host. Christophe is chef cuisine by profession and he also got experience in eco construction (working in this field for a few years). He has two boys (11 and 13 years old) who live part time with us. Liz joined Christophe in 2021. She is a social worker, Chinese energetic therapist and artist. In 2012, Christophe created this friendly eco campsite in a beautiful spot in the Vosges forest. It's created for nature lovers who want to stay in home-made huts or tents. Stunning scenery, friendly and relaxing atmosphere, originality, home-made, permaculture, conviviality are just a few key-words... PARTICULARITY for helpers who want to learn by doing : If you stay minimum one month and have few basic using tools : development of low tech technology project (We choose tog...

ENGLISH VERSION Here we live in an ancient school in the mountains of north Ardeche (1350m) ! My name is Etienne (35years old) and i live there since two years with Lena (27years old) who joined me two years ago and many people who join us throughout the year. Actually we are approximatly 7 to 10 people living here . it's a pretty remote place (closest supermarket is 30 min driving) but there is often people passing by (friends, neighbor, unkowns...). Most of the place is in a good state but there is still some work to do(paintings, coating, roof fixing, isolation...), so we would need a little help for the place to be able to welcome more people, and make our daily life better. The amout of work needed from helpers would be pretty low (around one or two hours a day), We want a little help but we want at first sharing our life with new people and have a good time. We dont have so much money and we try to repair the School with less euros as possible, with second use materials ...

We are beekeepers in a small village near Bayonne, in the south west of France. We live in an old typical farm of the area with animals (one dog, two cats, chickens and millions of bees). We have near to 150 hundred hives which produce different honeys (heather, chestnut, acacia,...). For that we`re moving it in different areas. We are also making some pastry with our honey and we are selling the production on the local shops. We are also gardening, cooking and doing some DIY works at farm. We would please to welcome to you.

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

Off-grid living, building and tourism. Form February it will be the projects again! There's plenty to do on the land, making this place even more beautiful than it already is. Tasks during the next months include: First we will be building 3 outside wood fired bath tubs on different spots. Then, Expanding the area for the donkeys. Creating a new water system for irrigation and grey water. Building building another shower and toilet block. There's some fencing work for a new vegetable garden and orchard and much more... The short periods that the weather is not favorable to be outside we'll be doing ton of finishing jobs inside. I am trying to vary the working days, so no one gets bored and to give you the chance of choosing which kind of work you prefer, so everyone feels comfortable with what he/she is doing. If you're looking to get some building or carpentry skills and you feel like committing yourself to a longer period I'm more than happy to transfer some of my skills...I l...

Our family runs a western riding facility with 30 stalls, where we provide horse boarding and training, including reining and cow work. We also have a western saloon, where we host weddings, special events, and are open for our club members on weekends. In return for cleaning out stalls and feeding horses (and the odd other job), we offer room and board, sorry we cannot host vegetarians; we include you in family activities and you have the possibility to improve your riding skills in western riding (cow work and reining) in our 30 x 60 m arena and - how about -learning some line dancing!! A bicycle is available, if you want to explore the near surroundings. We are located close to Switzerland, it`s about a 15 minutes car ride to Basle, and also only about 20 minutes to Germany. Our area is a great tourist region. If you are mature, fit and self-motivated, willing to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks, experienced with handling horses, we would be happy to hear from you!

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

Join an eco-Project in the Heart of the Corsican Mountains, between rivers, hikes and birdsong. We are gradually building an eco-site dedicated to market gardening and simple living near the village of Zonza, at about 700 meters altitude, close to the magnificent Aiguilles de Bavella. We are a couple with a baby who just turned 1 year old, settled on the land since February 2024. At the beginning, the site was inaccessible; these were gardens completely abandoned and overgrown with brambles for 50 years. Little by little, with a lot of effort and patience, we have brought the space back to life: intensive land clearing (brush cutting, trimming, green waste management), preparation of planting beds, creation of an access track, and installation of fences... We then installed a well for water, solar panels to pump the water, and started structuring the vegetable garden. We do our own seedlings on site to follow the entire crop cycle. Today, the project includes about 2500 mÂČ already d...

Our organic mountain farm (800 m above sea level) 50 km south of Grenoble is located in the Vercors Regional Park in the Alps.

Actualy we are building a cellar for storing veget...

Our main activity is horse breeding on 150 ha and 300 ha of mountain pastures. The Trieves plateau is sought after for its wide open spaces and unspoiled tranquility. We raise MĂ©rens (a hardy mountain breed: MĂ©rens ), ponies, and a few donkeys. In the summer, we visit our two mountain pastures located between 1,300 m and 2,200 m above sea level, both for the pleasure of hiking and to keep an eye on the main herd of horses, in addition to haying, harvesting, and caring for the animals that remain on the farm. We have set up a wolf protection system for our forty awes abnd lambs. . We have three protective dogs (Patous) that are cuddly and not aggressive. The lambs births begin in January. With 110 horses to feed, cuddle, and break in for outdoor riding, riders are welcome to participate in our activities at their own pace and manage their own “work” time. ...

Bonjour ! We are HĂ©lĂšne and Lucas, a thirty year old french couple who bought a house a couple of years ago in a little town called L’Isle-sur-le-Doubs. You never heard about it ? Well, it’s time to change that ! Forget about Paris and the Eiffel Tower and come and discover Franche-ComtĂ©, one of the greenest region of France, known for its famous cheeses (ComtĂ©, Morbier, Mont d’Or, Cancoillotte
) and its Jura wines. We are ideally located along a canal which is also the path for the famous Euro Velo Route 6 going from Nantes to Budapest. There we opened a Bed and Breakfast to host cyclers AND ALSO created an association where we organize events for the locals in our barn and garden (concerts, board game nights, workshops
). Your mission will be to help us getting ready for those two things before summertime. Tasks at the moment will include : - Emptying, cleaning and arrange the barn - Gardening - Housework - Logging - Helping to organize an event if one is planned during ...
