A wonderfully unique opportunity (but, not for everyone) : We're a well-established intentional community, based on mindfulness and conscious living, in the mountains between Santa Fe and ABQ, New Mexico. Music, theater, performing arts, creative projects, healthy living/wellness, meditation, spiritual growth and intentional movement are all cornerstones of our existence. Keywords that describe our chosen way of living: Laughter, kindness, respect to all, enthusiasm, organic, fun, inspiring, collaborative, focused on becoming our best selves to be available for service to others. We'd welcome folks interested in experiencing our community...who enjoy participating in and helping with a variety of projects in a positive and creative environment! We are always juggling a myriad of projects....and enjoy aligning the best projects with the best individuals offering to help. Projects vary from day to day but may include include cleaning, painting, building/construction, gardening/landsca...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of three cabins, Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabin and 2 very small Guest Cabins. Also, there is an upstairs private guestroom with private entrance. We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our chickens, cat, dog, goats, mulefoot pigs and honeybees. Sue is a fourth-ge...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. Our homestead is remote.  We are currently looking for physically fit self-starters who are open minded, love to be outdoors, want to unplug and would enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest.  We require a 1 month minimum stay.  If you have ever thought you might like to homestead or purc...

This is a construction project that believes in creating positive change by using sustainable methods and newly invented building materials and procedures. Our project has been underway for over a decade and through the process we have had the opportunity to present a transformative experience for individuals who want to work on not only bringing the building and environment to a higher place, but to also bring themselves to a higher place. We provide and encourage all who come to volunteer to participate in meditation groups and seminars, yoga practices, healthy eating options (all of the food here is provided for you!), and make strong and lasting relationships with everyone who lives here! We are looking for help in carpentry, mechanical, electrical, fiber cable installation, tiling, masonry, and drywall. If you have any experience in any of these construction areas we would greatly appreciate the skills and expertise to help us to build our sustainability foundation. Experience in...

We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

Hello! Bonjour ! Buenos Dias! Thank you for checking our Ranchito posting! My name is Kareva and I bought a lovely fixer-upper property in Benson, AZ that I named Ranchito Paraiso, one mile north of the Amtrak train depot and Interstate 10 and 35 minutes from the Tucson International Airport. The Ranchito is within an hour drive to Kartchner Caverns, Patagonia Lake, Parker Canyon Lake, Colossal Caves, AZ wine country, Bisbee and Tombstone. Tucson is a 40 minute trip to town. Although your own transportation would be an asset to facilitate sightseeing around the area, I can arrange to pick you up in Tucson or from the Amtrak station in Benson. This property has come a long way in the past seven years, thanks to at least 50 amazing helpXers from all over the world who have become lifelong friends. At the Ranchito, we are creating a quirky/artsy Airbnb pet-friendly compound as well as a retreat for artists, writers, musicians, sanctuary animals, world travelers, academics, farm anim...

Our farm is located in beautiful rural Vermont. The farm is over 200 years old but has not been actively farmed for decades. We don't have any farm animals but you may see a moose, deer and/or bear if you visit. There are 170 acres (70 hectares) of forest and fields, with a small river, and a stream flowing out of a beaver pond. The farm is beautiful and perfect for sunsets and stargazing. Nearby are 26,000 acres (10,500 hectares) of state parks with lakes and trails for hiking, biking, camping, fishing, swimming and kayaking. There is a small store/restaurant one mile away and more civilization within 25 minutes. We have been hosting for 10 years with lots of great reviews, but 2025 is our first season on HelpX. We love doing this and have made many friends around the world. Some of this year's projects are building a cabin by the river, splitting and stacking firewood, and mowing a lot of grass and fields. Clearing trails in the woods and chipping brush are a priority this summer. ...

This is a small farm and homestead situated at a scenic location in western Massachusetts. A family farm for several generations, we grow fruit and vegetables in our garden and greenhouse, wild berries, fruit trees, and Christmas trees. The farm is adjacent to a very large forest that can be accessed and enjoyed by a network of trails, and there are several small streams/brooks with swimming spots and waterfalls. In 2025, work is focused on gardening, growing high-tunnel crops, collecting berries, farm stand operation, and trail maintenance. Tasks may include: weeding, planting, harvesting and helping to sell produce. Other tasks might include things that help keep the farm going and prepare for the long-run, like fixing irrigation or farm structures and equipment, painting, landscaping projects, and processing or preserving food. Helpers can choose tasks that they feel comfortable with. We can offer indoor access to bathroom and shower, laundry, and with a shared meal in the evenings...

Hello! My name is Susana. I am a 63 years old, living in a big house in Loxahatchee, Florida. I need help with maintaining, organizing, and improving the house: I am in need of repairing doors, painting, finish building a kitchen, and a lot of unfinished projects around the property. So many I started myself to realize that I am not strong enough anymore to do it with no help. Four hands are perfect for most projects to be done. I am hoping to find some handyman or a couple, willing to trade their time and company for a few hours a day (4 or 5 some days ) oin exchange for a private room and 2 meals of my choice. If you have dietary restrictions youn can always buy your own. Smoking is allowed outside. I have several dogs and a cats, so please don't have allergies! There are lots of mosquitos in Florida, pollen and flees on the sand . My cat and dogs live in the house. If I am in the garden they are outside, if I am going inside they follow me. They are always by my side, like childr...

We are a nonprofit horse rehabilitation center that offers rescue, education on equine care, volunteering, community service, owner assistance programs. We need hands on to help with projects we are working on to complete as well as facility maintenance. Would love to have some energetic people that want to make a difference in horses lives here. Thats what is all about is helping these animals go from neglect to finding a forever home. You don't have to have experience we can teach you. If working hands on with horses is not your thing and you admire them there's lots of things you can still do to help them prepare for homes. What we are not: We are not a riding stables. We give lessons when able after all chores completed and trainer is here on certain days (when available) and during certain times of the year. So if your intention is to spend lots of time "in the saddle" we don't do that here. We aren't a "working ranch" for people to ride horses all day and move cattle, ride trai...

Small sheep ranch in northern Montana offers hands-on-learning experiences. We run about 40 head of ewes for wool and lamb crops. There is need for sheep herding help in the summer, lambing help during around April in particular. Shipping is in August. But internships accepted all year. Other ranch activities include plantings for wildlife, fencing, farming, gardening and landscaping, building and repairs. Besides sheep, ranch animals include chickens, horses, and goats. I would welcome Helpers who have some skills in landscaping, gardening, carpentry, construction, painting, driving tractors, fencing - or who want to learn. Several projects are lined up that would give a variety of experiences. Regenerative is a byword for goals here. Restoring fields to grassland. Historic preservation of structures on this old homestead is another goal. All seasons have their special opportunities, even winter. Spring lambing offers a fast course in animal husbandry for Helpers who woul...

We are seeking help to rebuild and restore our beloved family farm which was abandoned for 6 years due to the 2018 Kilauea lava eruption. Our farm once thrived as an organic fruit and vegetable sanctuary, offering educational classes in sustainability and healthy living. Now, we are working to breathe new life into this special place. We also need assistance with caring for our pets - dogs and cats - while tending to various light tasks. These include trail clearing, painting, harvesting and restoring our cabins and gardens. If you're passionate about revitalizing land and creating a sustainable future, we would love your help:) We are offering a simple 10x10 off grid cabin with covered porch that includes bedding and lantern. Short walk to outdoor communal kitchen and bathhouse from cabin.

Learn how to keep your spiritual balance through meditation and working on a humane and free range goat farm at Ananda, a spiritual community based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda- Autobiography of a Yogi. Being in the midst of over 200 simple living, high minded folks is magical and very supportive of spiritual growth. Depending on the length of your stay, you will learn daily chores, milking, herding, cheese making and more. I can show you easy ways to make chevre, feta, and cheddar that taste amazing! You’ll stay in a room at my house or in an artsy divine gypsy wagon, or a T frame Chalet trailer with great facilities nearby. You'll work 30 hours a week (5 hours each day for 6 days and then a day off) for room and board, and you'll have the use of a cool golf cart during chores and s...

Learn to live in a sustainable fashion in a small rural Central New York community. We are older gay male couple with a 130 acre abandoned farm which we are restoring to its natural state. We have restored our wetland, worked to improve our timber stand, cleaned up much debris, and are attempting to create a sustainable eco-friendly landscape. We are nurturing a vegetable garden filled with perennial and annual vegetables and are continuing to improve the buildings on our property. We are not a business and do not sell our produce. There are multiple buildings including a chapel which we renovated and has been added to the registry of National Historic Buildings. Our property has a conservation easement and is located in a tiny hamlet located in the Butternut Valley Watershed in Otsego County, New York which is known for its water quality and beauty. The county has many local breweries and attractions including baseball hall of fame, Farmer's Museum, Fenimore Cooper Museum and is wi...

We are on a 65 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for ten years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

Aloha future helpers, My name is Brooklyn, and I used to be a helper in New Zealand and Australia before becoming a host. You can check out my reviews on my old helper profile here... https://www.helpx.net/admin/helper/edit/330412 I live in beautiful Kula Maui, Hawaii, with an ocean view and Haleakala National Park just 30 minutes away. I own a boating business here called Blue Water Rafting, so my time is often spent working on my computer. If you're interested, I can offer extra hours in exchange for snorkeling or whale watching tours. I strongly suggest renting a car when you are on Maui. I need some helping hands around the yard. Tasks include some construction projects, landscaping, harvesting and planting fruit and veggies, weeding, mowing, cleaning, etc. Bonus points if you have building experience! The exchange is 5 hours a day, from 8 am to 1 pm or 7 am to noon, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You'll also be responsible for washing the dishes and putting them away after...

We are a dad & daughter (17) with a loving, crazy Airedale, living on a 60 acre mountain top with distant 360 degree views of both the Green & White Mountains. From sunrise to sunset we are having fun and loving the land, with tons of hiking/biking trails, and a nearby connection to a 25 mile network. There's generally a refreshing breeze here, but when it gets too warm we head down to our stream & spring fed pond, which is a piece of heaven -- deep and cool. Our whole mountain is magical, with strong meridians, and located in a very artsy & progressive part of southern Vermont. And yes, there's a lot involved in being good stewards, even though we are not a commercial farm, so we have many diverse projects, and you might assist in managing our generous garden, making meals, clearing land, nurturing the flower beds, painting, bucking up or stacking firewood, routine cleaning & maintenance, doing arts & music with Luna, or building a steam hut or other structures, for several hours mos...

The accomodation is a 8' x 12' studio with a small covered front porch. There's high speed wifi and solar power, and it's surrounded by forest. There's a nice hexagonal composting toilet, an outdoor shower, and a shared kitchen and dining area. Looking for someone who can work independently on some tasks (gardening, painting) while I'm at my day job, and we'll work together some too (tree planting, construction projects). I work as a zipline guide and love touring people around the Island, so I'd be happy to take you on adventures on the weekends too!

More than a farm a place for peace healing and personal spiritual transformation We have recently started a permaculture food forest. Located in a very unique subtropical microclimate similar to parts of the big island Oaxaca Mexico and Australia. Theres lots of Yaupon the cousin plant to Yerba Mate so if you enjoy healthy caffeine there is plenty to drink. We are focusing on growing ginger tumeric bamboo and harvested the wild Yaupon tea. Our region is beautiful because we are located in small rolling hills in fact the highest elevation in Florida. What we need help with; Planting tumeric and ginger Planting harvesting and building with Bamboo Harvesting and Roasting Yaupon tea also possibly joining us at the beach farmers market when we have enough ready to sell. We are a small-scale, organic vegetable farm in Palmer, Alaska. We grow an array of beautiful produce which includes carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, brussel sprouts, romanesco, broccoli, potatoes, rhubarb, onions, beets, and many more. All of the vegetables we sell at local farmers markets are grown by us and are free of pesticides, GMOs, and chemicals. We not only believe that people should feel connected to their food, but we also feel that it should be delicious, healthy, and accessible. Work on the farm varies by season. In the Spring we spend our time prepping the field, sewing seeds, growing transplants, cultivating those seeds in the field, weeding, and watering. As we move into summer and fall helpers will have the opportunity to harvest and sell the fruits and vegetables that have been growing the past few months at the local farmers’ markets.

We are a couple in a neighborhood in the north-east area of Seattle, Washington. We are interested in hosting a person or two who could help with some yard work, maybe deep cleaning the kitchen, general house projects, painting walls, etc. Short term stays are best for us (around a week, plus or minus). We ask for 3 hours of help per day (except for arrival and departure days). It's OK to work longer days and then take days off - we are flexible. You have your own bedroom & bathroom to use. We have two "kids", 23 and 25, all grown and moved away. The photo posted is really old! We enjoy meeting people from other cultures! Our home is near a bus line - 30 minutes to the city center. Walking distance to library, shops and cafes. You are welcome to borrow a bicycle to explore (be prepared for hills!). We like helpers who are friendly and easy going. All of our helpers so far have found a good balance between engaging with us and giving us some family space. We love to ...

We are a small hill sheep farm in the Green Mountains of central Vermont, USA. We raise high quality Icelandic Sheep for milk, meat, and wool, and we sell breeding stock. We concentrate on producing hearty, disease and parasite resistant sheep, and on keeping them in a healthy and humane environment. Our flock is intentionally small so that we can know each of our “girls” personally. :) We rise early each morning to feed and water the sheep, horses, chickens and ducks, and to milk the ewes in summer. We have the middle of the day free to enjoy Vermont, and then we have chores again in the evening. We offer a room in our home (or a pullout couch if the room is taken) and all meals in exchange for about 4 hours of work a day. We are only a few miles from Vermont’s Long Trail, and from Bolton Valley ski area. We are also a short drive (15min) from Lake Champlain and Burlington, VT. We are also members of other sites. If you are interested in coming to help, I have some more information...

I like to get only one helper at the time, mainly one for spring and one for fall for minimum 3-4 weeks, up to 3 month. Mainly doing farm-work, and preferable also for riding horses with me! I like to be able to ride horses when having a helper here! Also helping with fencing, irrigation work and doing weeds, cutting/splitting wood/trees for firewood. We cook homemade meals. There is 1 day off, usually Sunday or however you wish. I am flexible and like the one helping me to be happy... while time allows maybe riding horses after chores and other farmiwork is done, but only if you like and already are a decent rider. I have a Ranch with 10 Icelandic horses and a mustang, chicken, dog and cat, and also a garden and greenhouse. I did have some horse breeding, raising, training and for workshops. This is in the south west corner of Colorado, bordering New Mexico Carson Nat. Forest and Ute Indian Reservation. It is pretty dry here and a desert mountain climate. I am looking for helpers ...

Aloha Kākou, Welcome to my home and farmstay. This is a Hawaiian owned and operated homesteading project. One of the very few- if not only- Native Hawaiian Cultural Exchange work-trade opportunity in Hāwai'i. Rooted in sustainability and indigenous values closely tied to the land, I believe that we as humanity have the responsibility, and utmost privilege, of being caretakers of this earth. It is my goal to eventually become fully self-sufficient, living simply and peacefully in harmony with da ‘Aina (the land). I am completely non-profit, and do not sell any produce. My present aims are to provide food for myself and any helpers who stay here, and to share the knowledge I have about the land: growing, planting and gardening, with others who share my goals to work towards self sufficiency and have a desire to learn more about living from the land. This is knowledge that I hope will then be taken forward into your own future homesteading endeavours. The beautiful māla (garden) is si...

There is a beautiful freshwater spring you can swim at with sandy beach and amazing blue water 20mins bike ride away or 7 mins in the car. What we need help with; Planting tumeric and ginger Planting harvesting and building with Bamboo Harvesting and Roasting Yaupon tea also possibly joining us at the beach farmers market when we have enough ready to sell. Building small eco earth cabins for guest and Airbnb out of bamboo wood and Cobb...

We currently looking for end of help Jan - Oct, 2025 this work would be sanding, varnishing, oiling, landscaping, hosting & basic camp chores etc.. : ) We are a semi off grid cabin rental business with 5 cabins and the "Beach House" on the Kenai Peninsula near Seldovia and across the bay from Homer. There are many different jobs we need help with, a lot of them fairly easy and we ask that you show up motivated with a good attitude and be a team player : ) Please know I would never ask anyone to do anything I would not do myself. You would need to be flexible with the jobs as things can change due to weather, other workers, other commitments etc. There is a one-week trial period if we both find it is a good fit you can stay as long as there is work. The main idea here is to enjoy your stay and have fun! ***What we can offer you*** We are located on magical MacDonald Spit, across Kachemak Bay from Homer, Alaska near the village of Seldovia. This location is one of a kind, with 36...
