We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Looking for help with the garden and the house, this will take up 2h/day. I live in Thurgoona, which is a suburb of Albury. There is unlimited internet, you will have your own room. This helpx placement would suit a fit single traveler with own transport who can work unsupervised. Would prefer a male helper with own initiative, non-smoker. I need help with my deck (sanding and oiling) and cutting back ornamental grass. I am a dual citizen with German heritage. I work from home. Albury is on the main highway between Sydney and Melbourne, about 6-7h from Sydney and about 4h from Melbourne. It is a nice country town with cafes and all shops etc., Saturday night life, cinema etc. There is the weir for swimming, some nice towns to visit in the mountains, such as Bright, Mt Beauty and Falls Creek. There are also a few areas with famous wineries around Rutherglen, the King Valley etc. Thanks.

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Our Wildlife Park is a privately run business we’ve been building for 15 years, with our biggest growth happening just in the last two. We transformed the 40 acres land into an open-space park with a sanctuary area, fields and gardens, built largely by our own hands. Our park is home to a variety of Australian wildlife including some herd and farm animals, and is located along the famous Great Ocean Road - 15 minutes drive from the famous Twelve Apostles and on the outskirts of the beautiful Great Otway National Park. We have availability all year round with a range of projects and activities needed to be managed from animal caretaking, general park maintenance, gardening and building projects to enhance and make our park welcoming for both our animals and guests. We are looking for proactive, resilient and communal spirits who actively look for ways to help. You should be willing to get your hands dirty, show up with a good work ethics and bring a mature, responsible and honest attit...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

We can sign off towards the 88 days -Days you are here go toward your visa extension. We had a natural disaster with excessive flooding in 4895 disaster recovery program. There is always something happening on the farm not too stressful. Helpers say our place is a good safe place to visit or start your travels !! . Learn the wild life ,weather, slang or just Hit the reset button🤔😂 , Re boot , Recharge, Re focus & Re access. The area is often referred to as, 'The last frontier', due to the extreme weather & wildlife. Bush walks, Beach combing, Fishing , Nursery work etc take stamina. A small amount of fitness is a MUST. You cannot enjoy the long beach walks or bush walks without fitness. If you are lazy or unfit or just want to sit on your ass and do nothing this is not the place for you. We need helpers who are willing to give anything a go, outgoing, and willing to experience a very different lifestyle. Give a different way of life a go! We especially want you if you have IN...

Happy Almost Spring 2025! How can another year sped by. Tassie has certainly spung into spring and its beautiful. I have some renos and my garden I will need help in the coming months. Anyone out there interested? We live in the bush in the city on a cute and very sunny spot on the Sandy Bay Rivulet. Our home is only 2km from the centre of the city but hidden in a valley under the mountain. We are surrounded by walking tracks and close to lots of things to do. We are keen to offer home stay to meet people travelling and to generally get some help with some domestic gardening, vegie and fruit trees and some fence work. It would be a relaxed environment helping as a second pair of hands on these tasks. We have a couple of different bedroom options depending on the timing or a very funky retro caravan option. I am self employed and WFH (social researcher), I live with my very social German shorthaired pointer who thinks he is human. We are a home that loves food and conversation...

Hi there We have had many backpackers stay with us before and enjoy the new chats, music and vibes. I have stayed in hostels and backpackers here in Australia and overseas and always like to travel in WA to along the coast. Our house is walking distance from town and the beach is 200m away. It's an older house mix and match furniture, incense always burning and music playing with only 1 bathroom and 4 bedrooms with with big backyard. We have 1 cat named Sassy. The house is always tidy but by no means immaculate. There is wifi and a large bedroom that has heaps of cupboards and a desk with mirror and has a Queen bed, fan etc There is myself and my 17yr old son who live here. In return for accom and utilities etc we just ask for help and ideas with evening meals and general upkeep inside the house. A bit like a hostel feel really. Hi, I'm Steve, I am a retired old fart at 65 and live alone, except for regular travelers I host. I live close the Strand (Beach) in Townsville in a 2 bedroom unit. I can offer you a king size bed in your own room. I used to be an active couchsurfing host but have given that away as i don't like the changes they have made to the way they operate now, nor the quality of surfers. I'm pretty open minded and I don't judge people. There is no work required here, just help keep the place clean and tidy. I prefer to share the evening meals as though it is your own home. I don't operate my home as a hostel and I am used to having people in my home, and it's a fairly relaxed environment. Basically I would just like you to come into my home and be a part of it and don't shit on the floor. The last few Helpers have become flatmates after a couple of weeks. The current helper has been here for 6 months and starts travelling very soon. The one before her was here 2 years. I am looking for a suita...

We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working in Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. When possible we can take turns for meals if possible. We average 2/3 hours a day painting, plumbing gardening and other repairs and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe it’s more convenient to do two longer days during the week.Greg is usually available to help you with your car or take you fishing, boating or sightseeing if you’re willing to free him up from his other commitments. When you email please let us know when you plan to get to Per...

It has an extensive garden that needs up keep and help is needed to rid the block of introduced plants and weeds, Also removal of dead trees and general ground maintenance. Tasks would include some cleaning of sheds, house windows etc. Own self contained caravan with undercover kitchen and bathroom. I run an Aboriginal Art Gallery on the property and often have artists in residence that you can meet. I am a wildlife carer so often have baby wallabies to feed a bottle of milk. All who have stayed with us so far have had a great time and learnt lots about Australia, Aboriginal Culture, wallabies and Weeds of Australia!!! We have been very impressed with our helpx people who have all been very helpful. We get to learn about other countries as well which is great for us as well and get to taste great food. Smokers need not apply.

There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . At least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗.

We live in a fun share house 🏡 in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals 🍝, fireplace 🔥 and a big edible garden 🌾🌴🌳🌿. We're Mars, the owner of the property and former owner of multiple language schools and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most amazing meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs 🐕‍🦺🐕 in the family, so you must be a dog 🦮 lover. Also 6 chicken 🐓 and 2 ducks 🦆, so we always have fresh eggs 🪺. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun 🥳, laughter 😂, music 🎶 and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out 🤪. Be yourself and join the family... We have had many awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please no...
