This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...

I am looking for two or three helpers for 7-10 days in April. Warm greetings from rural Byron Shire. I have hosted helpers regularly to help me to clear and tidy my sloping one hectare garden, which continues growing vigorously, and with other necessary maintenance tasks around my home. I would welcome a couple or two or three friends to work with me for a week or more in April. No particular experience is necessary, but any practical skills might be useful, and reasonable fitness is needed. I’m happy to share my own skills with willing helpers and will be working with you. Three to four hours of work per day in return for plentiful food and drink, and your own comfortable accommodation in my guest bedroom(s). I live in the Byron Bay hinterland, with my dog Rosie, in quiet country with ocean views and sightings of numerous wildlife. We live on a 4 hectare block approximately 1.5 hours from Melbourne and only 15 minutes by car from the nearest regional town called Castlemaine which has a thriving arts community. We can collect you from the train station. We can offer you great homecooking and lots of conversation. We have a caravan suitable for 2 people which you would stay in. . It has a TV and both heating and cooling and is very close to our house and very comfortable. The property has beautiful views and is is very picturesque. We have an adorable little dog called Zebbie and lots and lots of kangaroos and birds and other crawling creatures. We call the farmlet "the wee tin hoose" as Iain is Scottish. We would like assistance with painting the outside of our house which is mainly mostly colourbond. it is not a large house but prep is most important. It would suit someone who has a professional background in painting. ideally we would like a couple to do this. There are other jobs as well such as gardening...

Hi, I live in Byron Bay and am looking for general help around the house, cleaning and gardening and small maintenance jobs. Accommodation provided is a studio separate from the house which sleeps 2, preferably a couple. The studio has a small bedroom and bathroom, kitchenette and sitting room. There’s also your own small deck outside where you can enjoy Byron’s beautiful weather. I am looking for 3-4 hours help each day per person in return for accommodation here in Byron. I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. Starting now. Please read the entire post before responding. Are you wanting to learn new skills? Work with cattle, chooks and horses in a beautiful landscape? As we are a working farm we prefer people who are interested in agriculture, it is nicer for you and us. Have fun, experience regenerative, biological agriculture and be part of enhancing the biodiversity of a patch of land, using organic, biodynamic, and biological techniques. A bit of house and garden renovation also. This can be very rewarding for the right people, there is something different every day! Staying here and helping us, will give you some farm experience and confidence. You will learn heaps and your contribution is much appreciated. We are looking for a couple or two people travelling together for some farm/garden projects. You will stay in our spare room that can have 2 beds in it, with your own ensuite. It's best if you are physically fit and willing. It also helps if you have some life experience! Moderat...

It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. We are not a commericial lavender farm although we have a lot of lavender growing in the gardens. There are some rescue horses (not rideable) and a pony , chickens, very friendly family dogs and a swimming pool.

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Yarrangobilly Caves and nearby thermal pools are about one hour away. Our beautiful site features a serene river, where you can go...

Moderat...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...
