Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

If you love wildlife, the outdoors, great views and good food, send us an email (only emails from this site will be responded to). This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. Please message us through this platform to allow us to view your profile The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level. We are surrounded by National Parks and abundant wildlife. The property is 6Ha with a sub-tropical climate and has great country views to the North up to 140km on a clear day. We also have a tennis court (I will always give preference to tennis players who love to cook and eat great food), an outdoor cob pizza oven, chooks/ducks, two Rh...

Set in a hidden valley of Woonona, this 1 acre oasis is on a journey from forgotten, overgrown grassland to Permaculture wonderland! We have been practicing aspects of sustainability for over 15 years including Permaculture gardening, sustainable building and creating community. Sarah has a deep level of knowledge about market gardening, soil building and organic food & is a qualified Permaculture teacher. Ben is skilled at building with recycled, reclaimed and natural materials, tending fruit trees and teaching ecology & sustainability. The property is located about 5 minutes bike ride from lovely beaches and 5 minutes walk from local shops and access to buses into Wollongong. It`s also only 1.5hrs from Sydney by train. We spent 2010 WWOOFing around the planet with our two children, so we understand how to be good hosts. We love sharing lifestyle and experiences, so hopefully we can help you explore this wonderful part of the world. The current projects involve a range of gardeni...

This is a home stay situated on a sugarcane farm 18km north of Proserpine. Not far from Airle Beach and Whitsundays. There are a variety of chores, I work in the sugar mill but also have a lot of work around my house and sheds. We’re renting a granny flat, and some times there is some cleaning work to be done. I have a young dog and chooks to take care of. It is very quiet where I live, so if you are looking for some peace and quiet to get away. I would also be happy to show you around the area, take you fishing, I have a boat and would love to show you around the Whitsundays weather permitting, maybe catch some crabs explain some of the wildlife in the area. There are lots of beautiful places to see here. We have hosted exchange students in the past and it has been very fulfilling, sharing different cultures. More photos on instagram at aqhinschen We enjoy the company and conversation and also sharing the cooking, I love sharing the kitchen while cooking. We have had some great ...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed ,skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots...

I am seeking mature travellers who are travelling around the South West in their own Camper Van or Car with tent etc. Traveller/helpers need to be self contained but I provide access to clean toilet and shower facilities. I have some really nice set up camp sites here - the sites are private, clean, safe and located in beautiful natural bushland settings. If you would like to come, stay and help me here, please send me a message ! I can usually help traveller/helpers locate many other things.., like possible work services, free food services and access to various beaches etc. I like to show people how they can live on the land sustainably, how they can build their own sustainable homes and grow their own food...., using what is around them, to adapt to their environment and adopt permaculture principals to suit their own needs. I have lived on my own little permaculture farm beside the Leeuwin/Naturaliste National Park forest since 1982. I have built my own home using local gra...

I am looking for helpers for up to 10 days. A domestic residence on Magnetic Island, close to National Park, golf course and beaches within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. I will collect you from the Island's ferry terminal and take you on a guided tour of the Island when you arrive and will often be able to either drop you off at the places you want to visit or pick you up when you're ready to come home. I prefer to have couples or friends prepared to share a queen size bed as the other bed is in my computer room. Another option is 2 hours work a day plus preparing, cooking and cleaning up after the main meal for the day. In exchange, I will buy the foods you want to cook for us for this main meal. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Hi, I live in Byron Bay and am looking for general help around the house, cleaning and gardening and small maintenance jobs. Accommodation provided is a studio separate from the house which sleeps 2, preferably a couple. The studio has a small bedroom and bathroom, kitchenette and sitting room. There’s also your own small deck outside where you can enjoy Byron’s beautiful weather. I am looking for 3-4 hours help each day per person in return for accommodation here in Byron. You will be responsible for your own meals. I am generally only looking for short term stays. General info - my house is a comfortable 20 - 25 minute walk to town and 15 -20 minute walk to Tallow beach and Clark’s beach. Byron Bay is a beautiful place to visit with many activities available locally - surfing, beach walks, bush walks, kayaking out amongst dolphins, whale watching in winter to name some plus many great places to eat! I’m happy to help show helpers around and to find their way. I don’t need he...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

Hi, it's Stephen and Philamae. We have a beautiful rural property in Buckland, Tasmania (45mins NE from Hobart airport). The views are stunning - the accommodation is lovely after its 4 year renovation build has just completed, and we are running it as holiday accommodation as we move towards turning it into a funky mini-retreat space. The experience of the place - and Tasmania as a whole - is soul stirring. Lots of beautiful animals surround us - sheep, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bunnies and the occasional deer and eagle.. Generally we look for HelpXers to help with the gardening, maintenance jobs, housekeeping, but now we'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has been a chef or a cook in a cafe/restaurant, or even just loves cooking and is good at it! The next specific needs are: a) start of May onwards. Minimum stay 4 weeks, but we prefer longer stays!. The retreats we are running from 5 June to end August: www.sherwoodloves.com.au/retreats-overview We are looki...

We are a retired couple, enjoying a peaceful life on our 2.5 acres, surrounded by farm land overlooking the Strzelecky Ranges. We have two dogs, Shadow who's 14 and Daisy 4, and 9 chickens. Serena has planted lots of trees and shrubs, a nice vegetable garden, but it's all getting out of hand! We'd like someone to assist us with carting mulch, cutting back trees and shrubs, splitting and stacking firewood (don't worry, we have a hydraulic log splitter), general garden maintenance jobs and perhaps some external painting (the house is due for a paint job, we have started already but there's plenty left!). We ask for 2 hours/day (for a couple) or 3 hours/day (single person) in return for lodging in your own studio apartment in the main house, with Queen bedroom, private sitting room, amenity area and private bathroom (if it happens to be booked out for an AirBnB we can accommodate you in our vintage Jayco Camper). Eric's a good cook so you won't go hungry! If you have any dietary requirem...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Please read our profile carefully, and see our website and instagram. If you feel you are the right person or people for us, we look forward to receiving your application. This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000, and the tree crops are well maintained and productive. Murrnong has a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mud brick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian. Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with l...

Welcome to beautiful fresh Tasmania. We are a little family living in the beautiful Chudleigh valley on a small property. We grow some of our own vegetables and fruits. We have sheep, alpacas, ducks, chickens and an old dog. We have a teenage daughter and we would like to learn about your culture and share ours eg doing activities like bike riding, making stuff, playing music, drawing and sharing skills . My partner, Paul has a shop in Deloraine that sells old wares, antiques and collectables. There would be some work helping him with shop jobs, like cleaning, polishing, lifting, sorting, all sorts of odd jobs. On the farm we have weeding, sheep poo collecting, pruning, fencing, raking leaves, stacking firewood and whatever needs doing at the time. Jobs are dependent on the weather and the seasons. We would expect you to do 2 or 3 hours work per day in exchange for accommodation and an evening meal (mostly vegetarian, meat once a week is normal). You need to provide your own breakfa...

We love Wholistic health, Swimming, Fishing, Bush walking, Bike riding and Camping. This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Looking for help with the garden and the house, this will take up 2h/day. I live in Thurgoona, which is a suburb of Albury. There is unlimited internet, you will have your own room. This helpx placement would suit a fit single traveler with own transport who can work unsupervised. Would prefer a male helper with rown initiative, non-smoker. I need help with my deck (sanding and oiling) and cutting back ornamental grass. I am a dual citizen with German heritage. I work part-time from home and some hours outside of home. Albury is on the main highway between Sydney and Melbourne, about 6-7h from Sydney and about 4h from Melbourne. It is a nice country town with cafes and all shops etc., Saturday night life, cinema etc. There is the weir for swimming, some nice towns to visit in the mountains, such as Bright, Mt Beauty and Falls Creek. There are also a few areas with famous wineries around Rutherglen, the King Valley etc. Thanks.

3 May to 10 May available for two people We live in a beautiful old weatherboard house 9km from the city and close to a cafe strip where there are interesting cafés, bookshops and restaurants. A bus goes to the city from the end of the street. The work is 4 hours per day. We are flexible with how you work, so you have time to look around Perth. The work is small house repairs, handiwork and gardening. A bit of everything. It has a heater so you will be warm and cozy in this cold weather and the house is air conditioned in summer. If you have a van to sleep in we have a nice quiet spot at the back of the house. Seven years ago, we moved to our small farm in Northern Victoria. We have been growing fruit and vegetables, planting trees, and learning to care for the land. Tim is a retired engineer. He designs and builds things around the farm. Beth is a teacher and health practitioner who also teaches at an Australian university. She loves her rose garden with over 400 fragrant bushes that smell beautiful on a cool morning. The farm has an organic vegetable garden, an orchard, berry patches, a herb garden, and a music room with a baby grand piano in the house. If you play an instrument, bring it. We are close to the Murray River. The skies are big, the sunrises and sunsets are stunning, and the birdlife is extraordinary, from flame robins and splendid fairy-wrens to eagles, grass parrots, and a family of quail who live in the herb garden. And then there are the magpies. They are our farm mascot, you will find sculptures and mosaics of them all around the property and they will wake you every mor...

G'day! Seeking friendly couples or 2 friends, or solo female travellers to help us out with various jobs mostly in our 1 acre garden. Our reviews show that our work is not too hard and there's always a variety of things to do so you don't get bored. You will have an upstairs room with queen bed with your own bathroom, and a 2nd lounge room right outside your upstairs room - it's almost like your own flat! You will enjoy elevated views of the local neighbourhood and our fabulous & colourful Aussie birds! We currently have 1 friendly flatmate who we barely see, and 3 cats, our home has 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms and 3 bathrooms, a balcony and 2 patios, so plenty of room for everyone! We are in a private and quiet area not too far from bushwalks, about 30 minutes walk to the Katoomba shops. We have room for you to park your vehicle if you have one, otherwise there is a local bus and we can give you a lift to the shops or bush walks sometimes. We will share some dinners with you, but...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years, we enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this ti...

I'm looking for help mainly with the garden or cleaning for 2 hours a day in exchange for accommodation. Of course, the kitchen and other facilities are available for your use as is the rest of the house and garden. You will have sole use of the bathroom near your room. It can ei...

Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We are a small farm just outside of Wingham in the picturesque Manning Valley on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Getting here is an easy 5 hour train ride from Sydney. The farm is quietly placed at the end of a dirt road yet still only 4km from the center of town where you will find plenty of amenities like cafes, pubs, a pretty good gym, a Coles supermarket and other small shops. Close by you will find some cool beaches, waterfalls, mountain bike trails, river fishing and plenty more. Port Macquarie is an hour up the highway on the way to Coffs Harbor and Byron Bay which are a perfect distance for your next farm stay. Your accommodation is a fully self contained modern tiny house.

If you have house painting or carpentry skills we definitely have work for you 😊 We grew up in Perth, so we can introduce you to our friends and give you some suggestions for your time in Perth. We have traveled a lot ourselves and hosted many fantastic Helpx helpers. There is one spare room with a double bed, new pillows, sheets, blankets and towels. It has a heater so you will be warm and cozy in this cold weather and the house is air conditioned in summer. If you have a van to sleep in we have a nice quiet spot at the back of the house. We are currently ...
