I, Christine, have been working all my life as a language and Art teacher. Since I retired I work as a naturopath. I am living with my daughter Bess on an urban block. I am maintaining the vegetable garden and the house by myself. I occupy with her one of the three buildings on the property. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 public parks surrounding us and we are close to the Mary River. There are lots of kangaroos to observe in these parks. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay. I love to cook and have good conversations around the dinner table.. I offer for single or couple a bedroom with bathroom. Since we are on tank water I respectfully ask visitors to be water conscious when showering. The tasks: Depending on the season the vegetable garden needs topping up soil and mulch, weeding, some trimming of hedges, some maintenance on the house like painting some areas outside (wooden Queenslander), maintaining the gutters and cleaning various...

Volunteer person needed to help me with everyday life of looking after animals and some gardening & basic maintenance of the farm and some house duties. I can only accommodate one person. This is a great opportunity to get away from the city life and enjoy some country living. I have cats horses and chickens. You may even have a couple riding lessons and learn a little bit about interacting with horses. Available from April to October . Meals and accommodation are supplied. Accommodation is a little caravan close by the house, which has a mini art gallery. ( if you like painting I can give you some lessons) Prefer 1 month minimum stay, but shorter stays are ok. We live in a slightly isolated quiet area being 80km from the nearest big town, but do live on the outskirts of a small town where we have a supermarket, chemist post office etc. You will need to be capable and happy to work unsupervised at times. There will be only 4-5 hours of work per day.

The position is available from 1 June 2025. I would like to offer accommodation for up to a week (longer stays to be negotiated) and possibly food (to be negotiated) in exchange for 3-4 hours work per day: general maintenance, carpentry, painting, gardening, minor repairs, cleaning and possibly pet sitting my little dog. Helping times are very flexible. The room is airy and comfortable, with 2 single beds. The bathroom is shared with me. I am in need of an independent person who is a self-starter and can work unsupervised. Handyperson/carpentry skills and own transportation essential, although there is a bus stop nearby. I live in a funky, eclectic beach property on a quiet street. It is a 5-minute walk to an uncrowded, beautiful surf beach with many walking tracks. The property is 8km south of Noosa, one of Australia's most iconic tourist destinations. Peregian Beach village is only 3km south, with great restaurants, boutique shopping, an IGA, and a patrolled beach. Brisbane is an ho...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON *Got a garden that needs cleaning up at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one old farmer, one dog, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. Seven years ago, Tim and I moved to our little farm, and we've been busy ever since; growing a garden, planting trees, and learning how to care for the land. We joined Landcare to better understand the local trees and wildlife, especially the ones that need a bit of extra protection. Tim is a retired engineer and has a knack for designing and building, so he’s been having a great time working on the infrastructure around the property. As for me, I’m a creative arts teacher and public health practitioner. I still teach both online and on campus at an Australian university, balancing my work with farm life. One of my biggest passions here is my rose garden with 400 fragrant bushes, and I'm dreaming of making rose water and rose oil one day. We’ve also got a thriving organic fruit and veggie garden, with plenty of fruit trees and a mix of seasonal vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies, and we’re just a short stroll from the Murray River, perfect for a bit of fishing. I lo...

If you REALLY love dogs, cats and nature and are looking for a long-term role which may lead to working your 88 days for visa sign off or a permanent paid role... We need a kind and fit person who would be happy to do all the jobs needed to keep our dogs healthy and happy. This includes a LOT of house cleaning, feeding, laundry and dog washing. Your accommodation would start of in our vintage caravan and once our current paid helper leaves, you would share a modern two-bedroom home with our other helper (currently that’s Josey and Lilja who are from Germany). You would of course have dogs or cats sleeping on your bed too! This is a great experience for those who are fit and love dogs, cats, cleaning and organising and want to spend some time on a lovely property in a nice home full of dogs. Or you may want to gain the skills to volunteer at a rescue shelter, become a dog trainer, or maybe you might just want to know how to create a create a really great dog of your own. AVAILA...

Townsville is a tourist hub, with access to beach, mountains, reef, rainforest and bush. Cranbrook is a leafy suburb across the river from the university, close to Riverway (free freshwater swimming lagoon, with art gallery) and shops, and on the bus route. There are large trees around my house, and there is always gardening or raking to do. My mother lives in a house 3 minutes away, and I help her with her garden. Accommodation is a granny flat with a powder room attached. There is a fold out double couch. You will share the bathroom and kitchen - in exchange for gardening, maintenance, paving, painting, cooking or housework. Must love dogs - my dogs like to oversee human pursuits like digging, weeding and walking. I can assist with transport to local hiking spots, beach, or parks, or can pick you up from train or bus station. Prefer helpers who are non-smokers with family-friendly values, and able to work unsupervised when I go out. Also, Townsville is usually hot in the m...

Hello Travellers, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years in Australia. We enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority. Growing and planting food and fruit trees, and clearing a few acres to live on. HI HELPERS!!! WELCOME TO JOHN`S FUN FACTORY!!! BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. I have been a volunteer host for 18 years and I have had more than 1700(Yes!!!you read it correctly!) fabulous, lovely, wonderful volunteers stay with me. Many of them have come back for second, third…or even 10th visits!!!!! Work can be really diverse including tree planting, mowing grass, helping to install forest fire...

We live on a small acreage about 20 minutes outside of Bundaberg. It is in a quiet, country area with lots of animals - dogs, cats, geese, guinea fowl and ducks. Wild kangaroos regularly feed in the paddock near our house. If you love animals, we are the place for you! Helpers would have their own bedroom, bathroom, toilet and lounge room. We are happy to provide all meals if you require. We have access to wireless internet and are able to pick up helpers from Bundaberg if they do not have their own transport. I have been having treatment for a serious illness for the past 15 months. I am now on the road to recovery, but would like some assistance with feeding/caring for the animals, housework, cooking and gardening as I still get fatigued and my husband is working away. We enjoy meeting new people and learning about their cultures. We have hosted a lot of helpers in the past and thought it was time to start again as we met so many great people.

NON SMOKERS ONLY! I am in LAUNCESTON TASMANIA. I (Yvonne) have a house in West Launceston, it is not a farm, it is a house in a quiet Launceston suburb! I can accommodate one or two FEMALE helpers (Due to the religious Haram restrictions of one of our residents) for about a week or so. Current vacancies are between now and 8th September; and between 23rd September and 21st October. Minimum stay three nights. Accommodation (for a single person or two females) is in a private room with a double-bed. (Pictured). I can also add a single camp-bed in this room if helpers are two women who don't share a bed. I have busy life and work commitments (I have been unwell and work part time, doing both paid and volunteer tasks, so find it too difficult to have to cook meals and supply food). I can only offer an arrangement where you do two hours work per day for just accommodation and you supply your own food and cook your own meals. If this arrangement sounds like something you would be OK wi...

Our current project is general gardening, helping on the property and cleaning. Looking for helpers now. Currently we can sleep up to 4 people. Must have a car for independent transport - please don't apply if you don't have a car. It is non negotiable. Please only apply if you are keen to work and have a good attitude Singles, couples are more than welcome. See our reviews. For free food and accommodation we would request that you work for 4-5 hours a day, for 6 days, the work will be varied, general housekeeping, helping with the running of the business, gardening, farm work, painting etc. If there is something that you really like to do, let us know. At the moment we are spending a couple of nights a week in Sydney, so you would need to be happy and comfortable staying at the property on your own. During this time we would leave enough food for you. There is the chance of more paid work if you are willing, and if it is available at that time. We ask that you have a car, so y...

This unique little farm is located on Caves Rd beside the National Park, very close to Hamelin Bay. I like to host visitors to this area.., I can positively inform visitors about this area and community. I prefer to host traveller/helpers who are self contained..., in their own camper van (or similar). I also prefer to host people with an existing 'skill set', an attitude that fits well with permaculture doctrine and practice environmental responsibility. I provide a very nice self contained camp site - with water on tap, a raised metal campfire brazier and all over covering shelter(tarp) stretched between peppermint trees ! At this time of year I require helpers to pick up and pile sticks and branches, weed in the garden and orchard and raking leaves into piles. Also, help is required collecting firewood from around the property...,. and seaweed from off the property ! Please note - When the warm weather returns I will have some 'paid work' available for people with a specific ...

Hi, it's Stephen and Philamae. We have a beautiful property in Buckland, Tasmania (45mins NE from Hobart airport). The views are stunning - the accommodation is lovely now that its 4 year build has just completed! The place will get even more enjoyable and beautiful as we create this funky mini-retreat space. The experience of the place - and Tasmania as a whole - is soul stirring. Lots of beautiful animals surround us - sheep, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bunnies and the occasional deer.... Generally we look for Helpxers to help with the gardening and house cleaning (the weeds are a never-ending battle!), but we also have some next garden and DIY/building related projects we want to progress: build some very large fruit tree cages; build/install a chicken coup and chickens! construct flat packed bunk beds x3. So any experience/ability in creating these kinds of structures would be great! The next specific needs are twofold: a) looking for a helper with construction/carpentry...

The property is 8km south of Noosa, one of Australia's most iconic tourist destinations. Peregian Beach village is only 3km south, with great restaurants, boutique shopping, an IGA, and a patrolled beach. Brisbane is an ho...

The tasks will be a mix of bed preparation, planting, propagating seeds, general maintenance like mowing and weeding, and care of our animals.

We are 100% off-grid with electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. Friendly dogs who love to play.

Please check our availability first :) Well-established Permaculture property with orchard, garden and animal systems located ten minutes from Noosa and seven minutes from (famous) Eumundi Markets. (But public transport VERY poor in this area - see note at the end) Dave is a past Permaculture Teacher and therefore only interested in working with people keen to increase their knowledge of Permaculture systems/Self sufficiency. We are a laid-back but hard working couple who enjoy the "good life" in all its simplicity. We practice regenerative agriculture (using many chickens) and focus on cover crops as well as adding micro-organisms to our soil.a We are looking for a single person or happy couple, with practical skills and a focus on wanting to grow their own food/becoming self-sufficient, to assist with gardening, care of our animals, DIY tasks and improvements to the our system.
