Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. We are a family run business operating an Oyster Farm on Moreton Island plus a retail shop on the property selling fresh seafood. We live on a large residential property approximately 1 hour NNW from Cairns city, 15 minutes further West of Kuranda in FNQ. It is a family home with myself, my partner and our two young girls aged 3 & 4 years. We have 2 large dogs who live outside in the garden. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. You can walk to the city in about half an hour but fortunately there is a bus stop just across the road too because the return walk is steeply uphill! I love having people staying and sharing this lovely place. I would much prefer genuine travellers and people who know about gardening. I would prefer someone who is strong to help me lift things.
