Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. Ours is a family operated mixed farm. We grow about 600ha of wheat, canola, oats and lucerne. We also run around 400 sheep, 500 head of cattle and about 400 goats. Like most other farms we also have chooks, horses and the usual pets like dogs, birds and cats. You're invited to join in with general farmhand tasks. This might be sheep or cattle work, helping with shearing, looking after pets and poddy lambs or calves. It maybe planting trees, painting, gardening and/or working with the hosts. The aim is for you to have an enjoyable experience. Whatever it is, you'll be appreciated and treated as a guests and as part of the family. Our focus is not on work or cheap labour but the cultural exchange and farm/country experience. Your room has its own adjoining bathroom, also internet/WiFi/mobile phone available. We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. We are in the hills 1 hour from Perth CBD in a small rural farming community. Our place includes the small town's original Post office (1914) which has a reputation of being the smallest post office in Australia, this is now used as your cosy air-conditioned guest room with a sofa bed. Complete the rustic aussie experience with an outside toilet. NO local transport. You MUST have your own car. Meals and showering (and another toilet) is in our main house. We have a winter creek at the back set in bushland, musical instruments (piano, guitar, ukuleles). Room for vehicles. Singles, couples welcome. We often have small projects we can use help with including building, painting or cleaning and miscellaneous jobs around the yard.
