I live in a Log cabin on one acre a short walk from the beach. It is a small town surrounded by beaches and at the start of the great barrier reef. There are 23 islands within 30 minutes boat ride. My cabin is large with a chilled atmosphere, heaps of music, a camp fire area and a bar outside as well as inside. Painting, general gardening, tree planting and housework is mostly required. Accommodation is in a comfortably caravan with double bed.. Our life style is pretty chilled which includes travel, bbq's, music, kitesurfing and fishing. Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Our property is 33ha of native forest with two creeks located in subtropical NSW, 15 km from Lismore and 50 min from Byron Bay. Our focus is on enhancing the natural habitat for the abundant wildlife including wallabies, goannas, echidnas and birds. Varied tasks include assisting us with gardening, bush regeneration, maintaining bush tracks, general house and property maintenance. My rainforest home is located only a 5 minute walk to Kuranda village with our famous markets and only 3km to the mighty Barron Falls.There are numerous rainforest walks nearby. Cairns and the best beaches are only 40 minutes by car. Own vehicle preferred as the bus is limited as it is only twice a day! I travelled the world for 6 years and I now welcome guests from all countries to enjoy this beautiful place that I have called home for nearly 46 years. Non smokers only. Work is mainly outside in my large landscaped garden as well as maintaining the bank of a permanent creek which is my property's rear boundary.
