I live on a rural property close to town and there is always plenty of work to be done and I could use a hand. I have lots of gardening or lawn mowing or cleaning. I would be asking for 2 hours per day for accommodation only. Other things to do include bird watching, crocodile watching. At last count we had 14 fresh water crocodiles. Bush walks The property is 20 minutes by car to Darwin so it is a good landing spot to explore Darwin further. For the right people I can offer a day excursion out to a cattle station to fish or ride around in a buggy and see some more of the territory or some other 4wd adventure. This would depend largely on my availability and what I am doing that weekend. Your own transport is better. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales.
