We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. There is work removing trees, tidying up the garden and removing debris from the fires and recent storms. There is also cleaning work helping Cate with property management. During free time you are welcome to borrow our electric scooters and go swimming and exploring. We live in Mallacoota, one of Australia's most beautiful places on the southeast coast. It is a World Biosphere Reserve in the middle of the Croajingolong National Park next to the ocean with an estuarine lake system and many, many beaches. We are 2km from the town centre and 3km from the nearest beach. There are about seven magnificent beaches within 10km of us. Mallacoota is 540km from Melbourne, 630km from Sydney and 360km from Canberra with limited access via public transport so keep that in mind when planning your schedule. Our family includes M...

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht. I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay. My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . hello, looking for some people, preferably longer than shorter term but open if you have some specific light maintenance skills. some of the helpx stay for long periods, even 6 months to 2 years, one of them. right now we are looking for people. need some chill, reliable people to help maintain the patios outside and keep the back gardens neat and basic small wood repair.. the place offers lots of flexibility of time. always a couple other helpx from around to exchange with. its very easy to learn things that need to be done. we require 15 hrs a week . you can help 5 days 3 hrs a day or you can help longer some days and take off some days to go to the beach. can also do shorter days shorter hours per day but then you do more days . ca switch with other helpx and then take a couple days off , but we must always agree to the exchange so it works for everyone. it usually does. we do have pools near around the neighborhood and we have always some wooden floored ro...

Our hext vacancy is likely to be in March. From then on we shall be looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, with some experience in working with wood, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. Right now I am renovating a 5m dinghy trailer and a 51 year-old, but still very strong 5m Clark brand, aluminium dinghy, fitting remote steering, centre console, etc. You would probably start your stay by helping with this. You need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year. Most of the work is outside but also based out of a well-equipped woodworking workshop and in our vegetable garden just over 100 meters from the beach.🧜♂️ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, ...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown garden. In addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Maryborough is only 30 minutes away from Hervey Bay with beautiful beaches overlooking Frazer Island. Maryborough is a beautiful old heritage town with a lot of old buildings and parks all around. We're just a few metres away from the Mary River, at a quite place and only 1.5 km from town. There'...

Hi Everyone, we are a small farm with a seasonal restaurant and beautiful gardens only 40 minutes from Hobart, and operate for only 3 days a week. A good plan for us is to help us about 24 hours over 4 or 5 days and use your spare days to explore our region, which is truly amazing, I will help with transport when possible. Your Help can be in the restaurant, maybe some light chores in the garden or around the main house, things we can work out! I like to cook seafood and meat dishes, and whatever produce can sourced from the garden. Thanks for reading. I wish you well for your travels and HelpX experiences.. Cheers, Mike.

The property is a small Beef cattle farm on the mid-north coast. Located 40 minutes drive from Port Macquarie town and beaches and 20 minutes from Wauchope and the nearest train station. This place is a really good option for someone on their way between Sydney and Brisbane who wants to break the trip for a few weeks. We are a couple with an adult son who is away at University. We have horses, chickens, ducks,3 dogs and cattle. We have a 2nd farm near Kempsey where we run cattle so sometimes we go over there to work as well. My husband and I both work from home although sometimes I have to spend days away doing fieldwork. We would expect between 3-5 hrs work a day, depending on what needs to be done, with 1 day off each week, usually a weekday, a lift into town can be arranged. Accommodation is in our house, and you will eat with the family. I would appreciate sharing the cooking and cleaning. Wi-Fi available, non-smokers only. The usual chores will involve some gardening or g...

We are a retired couple living in our private home close to Tallow beach in the beautiful town of Byron Bay. Byron Bay is so well known it needs no introduction.. We live in a quiet part of the town. There is a national park at the end of our street, and a 200 meter walk across this long and narrow park leads to our quiet beach. The park is alive with birds and birdsong, and wallabies are commonly seen in the early morning and at dusk. Close by is Tallow Creek, which opens and closes sporadically to the ocean, with an sizeable sea bird population which often nests there. The water of Tallow Creek is coloured by tea tree. The area around the creek opening is idyllic for picnicking, sunbathing, and the waters of the creek for paddling, soaking and swimming. Our house has a wild tropical garden featuring numerous palms and other natives, which attract lots of bird life. Accommodation provided for guests is a spacious fully private and self contained 1 bedroom apartment underneath the ...

We (Riley, Serene and Bood) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This place is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton Tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). That said it can get very wet in summer; our wet season. Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, cassowary and hundreds of other bird species. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening, orchard and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for one or two helpers, in our beautiful ...

Hello travellers! We’ve recently built a wonderfully energy efficient passive solar house, complete with off-grid solar for all our energy needs, rain water collection for all our water needs, and a worm farm waste management system for natural black and grey water processing. We’ve put a lot of work in to achieve a fossil-fuel-free, all-electric, household, with as small an environmental footprint as possible. We’re also lucky to live in a beautiful rural/coastal area near Inverloch, Victoria, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes south-east of Melbourne. We are close to some of Victoria’s most famous wildlife and wilderness attractions, including the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, the Koala Conservation Reserve, and hiking and camping at Wilson’s Promontory (not to mention numerous local beaches and fishing spots only 10 minutes away!). With our house complete, we’re now working to progress the landscaping aspects of our project. We’d be very appreciative of a helping hand or two to ...

Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

Come and experience life on a working cattle, seed and hay property. We run 300 head of cattle on our 560 Ha home farm, set in a beautiful valley. Join in with us as we work around the property, including tasks such as mustering, stock work in the cattle yards, fencing and machinery and vehicle maintenance.

Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

hello, looking for some people, preferably longer than shorter term but open if you have some specific light maintenance skills. some of the helpx stay for long periods, even 6 months to 2 years, one of them. right now we are looking for people. need some chill, reliable people to help maintain the patios outside and keep the back gardens neat and basic small wood repair.. the place offers lots of flexibility of time. always a couple other helpx from around to exchange with. its very easy to learn things that need to be done. we require 15 hrs a week . you can help 5 days 3 hrs a day or you can help longer some days and take off some days to go to the beach. can also do shorter days shorter hours per day but then you do more days . ca switch with other helpx and then take a couple days off , but we must always agree to the exchange so it works for everyone. it usually does. we do have pools near around the neighborhood and we have always some wooden floored ro...

My husband and I both work from home although sometimes I have to spend days away doing fieldwork.

I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . Come and see what we do with the seed and hay we grow. You might like to have a go at cleaning and bagging grass seed or coming along for the drive when we deliver hay. We rely on 4WD motor bikes and tractors for many tasks and may take the time to train you how to use these safely. Apart from experiencing farm life, we look for help in our garden and vegetable garden, as well as odd jobs in and around the house. We take care to work with safety in mind at all times and take the time to explain safety to our guests. Travel insurance is recommended.
