It looks like we are full until at least June but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop an...

Hello from the beautiful Dandenong Ranges! I am a self-employed ARTIST in a very colourful home. I have 1 dog, 5 goats and 3 lovely human housemates. EXPECTATIONS Enthusiastic, trustworthy English-speaking helpers who enjoy a laugh, are practical and can work INDEPENDENTLY. There are several varied DIY projects on the go. Most of the work is outside, you need to be physically fit and prepared for manual labour. I look forward to hearing from travellers who can help with limited instructions, unsupervised and have a passion for gardening, fence repair, building and DIY projects. Do you know how to use a drill, a drop saw, a sander and an angle grinder? Garden maintenance duties include but not limited to: use a whipper snipper to tidy garden edges; rake leaves; hand weed, digging, collecting fallen branches and sticks off the ground. Gather fire wood, cut and stack. Help burn garden waste. Plant new or potted plants, spread mulch on garden beds. Helping around the house and other od...

We are a small property in the Flinders Ranges running cattle and horses, and also have a small tourist operation with a BandB, camp sites and mountain hut on the Heysen Trail. There are great hiking trails on our property and many native birds and animals. We are looking for some help with odd jobs around the property which include general maintenance and some office and house cleaning jobs. We have caravan accommodation for 1 or 2 people available, so you can have your own private space when you like. We are excited to meet new helpx travellers and hear about their interesting lives and travels. We get good mobile phone and internet coverage. Your own vehicle is essential as we are 15 k`s from nearest town. We are able to pick you up from Port Augusta if you don't have your own vehicle and arrive by public transport. if you also have a flare for decorating, cooking and organising that would be great.

The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. I am very passionate about hidden truths and wisdom and always keen to learn and share (if called for) I do not drink or smoke and i like vegetarian food but i m pretty flexible.. This is an off-grid homestay with an established biodynamic garden of around 30 years. The lifestyle here is slow and close to earth, jobs and activities vary according to season and weather. Work here includes general gardening, firewood, fixing jobs or help in the kitchen. I'm asking for about four hours work per day in exchange for accommodation and organic meals (vegetarian). You have a private sleepout in a cute cabin in the garden which has a futon but requires you to bring your own bedding (sheet/sleeping bag). The cabin has no electricity, I suggest bringing a head torch as well. The property is close to beaches and waterfalls; the Great Ocean Walk and Apollo Bay (25km). I have bikes available on request but your own transport is almost essential, since public buses operate on only two days a week. A pick up from Apollo Bay can be arranged though. If you would like to come and stay please contact me via mobile phone, since I don't use the computer very often. Two days into your...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years, we enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this ti...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Welcome to beautiful fresh Tasmania. We are a little family living in the beautiful Chudleigh valley on a small property. We grow some of our own vegetables and fruits. We have sheep, alpacas, ducks, chickens and an old dog. We have a teenage daughter and we would like to learn about your culture and share ours eg doing activities like bike riding, making stuff, playing music, drawing and sharing skills . My partner, Paul has a shop in Deloraine that sells old wares, antiques and collectables. There would be some work helping him with shop jobs, like cleaning, polishing, lifting, sorting, all sorts of odd jobs. On the farm we have weeding, sheep poo collecting, pruning, fencing, raking leaves, stacking firewood and whatever needs doing at the time. Jobs are dependent on the weather and the seasons. We would expect you to do 2 or 3 hours work per day in exchange for accommodation and an evening meal (mostly vegetarian, meat once a week is normal). You need to provide your own breakfa...

Our small farm (https://little-farm.com.au) sits in Northern Victoria, where we grow fruit and vegetables, plant trees, and learn as we go. Tim, a retired engineer, is always building or fixing something. Beth is a teacher and health practitioner who also teaches at university. She tends a rose garden of over 400 fragrant bushes. Early mornings here smell incredible. The property includes an organic vegetable garden, orchard, berries, herbs, and a music room with a baby grand piano. If you play, bring your instrument. We’re close to the Murray River. Big skies, glowing sunrises and sunsets, and rich birdlife surround us. Magpies are part of daily life here, in sound and in art across the farm. Nights are clear and full of stars. Many people arrive tired and leave feeling genuinely restored. What we’re looking for Willing, reliable help Someone who takes initiative and keeps shared spaces tidy A careful learner who asks when unsure You’ll be guided at first, then work more indepen...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed ,skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots...

Please read our profile carefully, and see our website and instagram. If you feel you are the right person or people for us, we look forward to receiving your application. This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000, and the tree crops are well maintained and productive. Murrnong has a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mud brick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian. Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with l...

Hello Everyone, My son (5) and I (40) are living in the beautiful Northwest of Tasmania. Situated on the foothills of Mount Roland our hobby farm is close to tourist attractions like Cradle Mountain and only a short drive into the historic town of Sheffield. We are growing our own veggies and run a small amount of stock on our 20 acre property. Bordering the Dasher River with Pine Forrest on each side, the farm is very private with opportunities to get adventurous and go for a fish, a mushroom hunt or bushwalk. A little cottage not far away from the main resident will be your accommodation during your stay. We are hoping to find helpers who can give us a hand in the garden and with farm maintenance. In return we offer accommodation and food. We are a multicultural household and are happy to teach German or English to our guest. I’m also a chef and are happy to share recipes and teach cookery. One of my daily routine involves baking organic sourdough. Which i am happy to teach you too....

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

We have a property located within walking distance of perth centre near the river , grocery stores and public transport as well as a local coffee strip. You would have the whole house self-contained with kitchen and bathroom. The helping exchange arrangement would be helping with repairs, and painting. Its near sent Mary cathedral st if you want to check location. It would be useful if you have had some experience with painting and renovation as we are trying to bring a property in for a sale this year. it would suit someone who would like some peace and quiet because it lacks entertainment facilities such as stereos and TVs at the moment. Sorry, we don’t really provide long term bookings for people who are working. We do know of opportunities for those looking for this and are happy to assist.

We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. We average 2/3 hours a day painting, plumbing gardening and other repairs and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe it’s more convenient to do two longer days during the week. When you email please let us know when you plan to get to Perth and how you are travelling (flying in, driving or bus etc.). We live on a small acreage about 20 minutes outside of Bundaberg. It is in a quiet, country area with lots of animals - dogs, cats, geese, guinea fowl and ducks. Wild kangaroos regularly feed in the paddock near our house. If you love animals, we are the place for you! Helpers would have their own bedroom, bathroom, toilet and lounge room. We are happy to provide all meals if you require, but ask that helpers help with either the meal preparation or the clean up afterwards. We have access to wireless internet and are able to pick up helpers from Bundaberg if they do not have their own transport. Due to the lack of public transport where we live, it is probably more suitable if you have your own transport if you wish to visit local attractions. We would like some assistance with feeding/caring for the animals, housework, cooking and gardening. We enjoy meeting new people and learning about their cultures. We have hosted a lot of helpers in the past and thought it was time to start aga...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. There is work removing trees, tidying up the garden and removing debris from the fires and recent storms. There is also cleaning work helping Cate with property management. During free time you are welcome to borrow our electric scooters and go swimming and exploring. We live in Mallacoota, one of Australia's most beautiful places on the southeast coast. It is a World Biosphere Reserve in the middle of the Croajingolong National Park next to the ocean with an estuarine lake system and many, many beaches. HI HELPERS!!! WELCOME TO JOHN`S FUN FACTORY!!! BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. I have been a volunteer host for 18 years and I have had more than 1700(Yes!!!you read it correctly!) fabulous, lovely, wonderful volunteers stay with me. Many of them have come back for second, third…or even 10th visits!!!!! Work can be really diverse including tree planting, mowing grass, helping to install forest fire...

Hi Everyone We are a Mixed farming enterprise. We have Cattle and seasonal cropping. We have 2 resident working dogs and plenty of horses. The home and accommodation are on the Beach front in a small coastal town. The beach front home is only 100mts to the ocean so great for all beach activities out the front gate. There is Separate accommodation to main house with amenities. Work will involve travelling to the properties to help inspect livestock waters and wellbeing. On May 8th I am moving to the Sydney suburb of Wollstonecraft which is 10 - 15 mins by suburban train from the centre of the city and about 10 minutes walk from both Wollstonecraft and Crows Nest stations. 15 Minutes from St Leonards station. Trains go into the city at least every 10 minutes - often more than that. At this point I am looking for one or 2 people from the 11th for a week. You could come earlier but..... I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. Before you read further - I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all - not that you smoke outside). If I find that you do smoke you will be asked to leave that day - I (and my children when they are here) are all asthmatics. I also cannot do scents, particularly old spice, any spray on deodorant and lynx. I am allergic to mint so you cannot chew gum. Here are my boundaries: I try to be as eco friendly as possible and I ask you to consider the environment by not throwing into the bin things that can ...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . I am seeking mature travellers who are travelling around the South West in their own Camper Van or Car with tent etc. Traveller/helpers need to be self contained but I provide access to clean toilet and shower facilities. I have some really nice set up camp sites here - the sites are private, clean, safe and located in beautiful natural bushland settings. If you would like to come, stay and help me here, please send me a message ! I can usually help traveller/helpers locate many other things.., like possible work services, free food services and access to various beaches etc. I like to show people how they can live on the land sustainably, how they can build their own sustainable homes and grow their own food...., using what is around them, to adapt to their environment and adopt permaculture principals to suit their own needs. I have lived on my own little permaculture farm beside the Leeuwin/Naturaliste National Park forest since 1982. I have built my own home using local gra...

Do you know how to use a drill, a drop saw, a sander and an angle grinder? Garden maintenance duties include but not limited to: use a whipper snipper to tidy garden edges; rake leaves; hand weed, digging, collecting fallen branches and sticks off the ground.

On May 8th I am moving to the Sydney suburb of Wollstonecraft which is 10 - 15 mins by suburban train from the centre of the city and about 10 minutes walk from both Wollstonecraft and Crows Nest stations. 15 Minutes from St Leonards station. We live in a lovely elevated home in a great suburb, a would like to share the experience with the right people in exchange for help in the house, garden, and sometimes the boat. We are a happy and energetic family of three (plus one goofy dog) and while we all have very busy schedules, we also like to help our guests experience all the best that Darwin has to offer. We have welcomed travelers a number of times before, and it has been great :-) We expect three hours of work per day per person, five days a week. This does not include meals, although you will have full use of our open plan kitchen and your own fridge. Our home is in a great spot, walking distance to beach, markets, cafes, bars, supermarket, library and public transport. We have a large tropical garden and pool, and you will also have access to bicycles. The bedroom is fresh and clean, fu...

Our 20ha property is situated 3km outside Byron Bay (easy 15min bicycle distance) and adjoins the Belongil wetlands. The Arts and Industry Estate with funky coffee shops, a pub, Stone & Wood Brewery and restaurants is 1km away. The closest beach is at Elements Resort (2km away). We offer accommodation for one person in a self-contained, funky 1974 Airstream caravan with toilet, shower, fridge, microwave, hot water jug, heater/cooler, etc. Free WIFI and a bicycle are provided. We need help with general garden and house maintenance. An average of 4 hours help per day is expected in return for meals and accommodation. We offer a mixed diet and do not cater for vegans and vegetarians. We speak English and German and have a gentle dog. There is a billabong on our property and an abundance of wildlife. Wallabies visit daily for a feed :-). The main objective is that it is a fun experience for all, share our knowledge of the land, exchange life stories etc.
