Currently looking for a few helpxers that will be happy to work together for food and accommodation in a beautiful off-grid setting, just 2hrs from Sydney. Possible to volunteer and receive days towards 88 day visa. We have space mid October onwards for help x to work alongside family for a working bee. Work includes building a green house, gardening, clearing general farm maintenance, clearing some bush walking paths. We are a multi generational family who live in Sydney and have purchased 125acre bush block in Tallong. The property itself is stunning with beautiful bush, creek, waterfall, views over the escarpment and much more to offer. The cabin itself is off grid. Tank water, Solar fridge, hot water heated over fire, tank water. Very little phone reception on property. Own car recommended but train station 20 minutes away. But we can also transport from Sydney no problems. This would suit couple, friends, single, or family looking for a balance of time in nature while...

Spring is upon us & it is wonderful to see the plants “spring” into growth! BUT so are the weeds. 🫩 so we need help to weed & mulch, prune and plant. After our trip to Alice Springs to attend the Australian Native Plants biennial national conference we are enthused to improve our garden diversity. Please contact us if you want to experience our garden and hospitality like so many HelpX helpers have over the last few years. ENJOY THE FREEDOM & BEAUTY OF SOUTH GIPPSLAND. Property is a botanic garden of Australian native plants, many rare or endangered, plus an acre of plants for cut flowers, mainly proteas, banksias and tea trees. Lots of wildlife. We need help with weeding, mowing, mulching, planting and general clean up as the property is too big for the two of us to maintain. Accommodation is very comfortable, private, with fully set up kitchen in a studio style cottage with a queen size bed and smart TV. Recently installed a new electric oven with airfry function. Has split system h...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Our home and garden are on the beautiful mountain top of Mt Toolebewong. Our home is owner-built rammed earth construction and is surrounded by organic herb and native gardens, berries and fruit trees. We have a table soccer (Fussball) table, table tennis, and a tennis court is nearby. We have an attractive dam for swimming. We are close to a major native animal sanctuary and good wineries and the thriving and beautiful Yarra Valley, which we can share with you on longer stays. Work would be five hours per day, five days per week, however we are flexible around that. Volunteering includes gardening, weeding, pruning, compost making, planting, wood collection, splitting and stacking. Building and handyperson work depends on skills and experience. Welcome to My Little Piece of Paradise at Black Mountain - Sunshine Coast Hinterland. I am retired and live on a beautiful 28-acre small acreage property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, surrounded by paddocks, native birds and wildlife. The property is situated near the top of a mountain, offering exceptional views, peace and tranquillity, while still being conveniently located just 20 minutes from Noosa and its beautiful beaches. I have two daughters who live nearby and two granddaughters whom I absolutely love to spoil! I also have Ziya, my 12-week-old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, who is currently learning her manners and basic training. She loves exploring the property, going for walks, playing and, of course, eating! Ziya is contained within the property but enjoys interacting with people, so helpers must be comfortable around what will grow into a large, energetic and active dog. Who I am looking for : I am looking for either: One helper for approximately 7–10 days,...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

COME TO BEAUTIFUL BRUNY ISLAND next week. DO YOU LOVE ❤️ OYSTERS? 🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪🥂 We need help Monday September 21st, Tuesday 22nd & Wednesday 23rd. Day trip or stay with us a few nights. Car preferred but we might be able to pick you up. If the answer is YES come and work with us ! If not that's fine as we have lots of other nice food to offer. Work for 3-4 hours then we will have an amazing dinner. Often oysters. You can stay with us at our holiday house with water views. Or you can just come for the day and catch the last ferry home after dinner. The option might exist to stay longer but that’s by special request as you’d be alone & would need a car. This would suit singles, (if there's other staying) couples or a group of friends wanting a short but fun adventure. Sometimes we have small numbers just 2 people, other times large numbers but this is usually only when we are there to arrange all the food etc. BRUNY ISLAND has BEACHES, FORESTS, BIRDS, NATURE, and so much mo...

Are you looking for somewhere to have unique experiences? We have hosted lots of helpers over the years, and love the different people we have met. We enjoy the cultural exchange and look forward to meeting you. We are a family with two kids, on a small farm with some sheep, chickens, dogs, cats and horses on the banks of the Macquarie River, at Narromine, in central NSW. We have a comfortable 4 bedroom house and will provide all meals and accommodation in exchange for help with a variety of tasks, a bit of gardening, house work, cooking and general light farm duties. In winter we usually spend time checking and fixing the fences, collecting firewood, controlling weeds, as well as maintaining the vegetable garden and new orchard. Happy for people who love animals and outside work to contact us. Also looking for some farm and house work help too. We try to grow everything that we eat so we have an extensive veggie garden and orchard if you like working in nature! If you like soccer (...

My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must. There’s gardening and learning about soil health, learning how to erect barbed wire and electric fencing, animal husbandry, building, cleaning and general maintenance. There’s always something different g...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Room and simple breakfast of toast, tea or coffee, I can show you where to find free bread and there is generally some rice or pasta you can use, occasionally some fruit and vegetables, or other food included but not guaranteed. I have a minimum stay of 2 weeks and a maximum stay of 3 months. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run heating or cooling appliances. I am not on a farm, it is a residential block in Ipswich. My house is small and cluttered and surrounded...

We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed(inside and out 🤣,) skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. We.previously lived in Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast where we hosted many helpers through helpx with amazing reviews over a period of 17years.. Most never wanted to leave. We have now moved and bought an equally stunning property in Far North Queensland in a small country town (Cardwell) on 3 acres 10 minutes from beach. We are located between Cairns and Townsville and just south of Mission Beach. Terry and I are not as young as we used to be and are struggling with maintaining the property. We need help for 4hours a day, with weeding, mulching, pruning and watering the gardens and general house cleaning. We back onto tropical rainforest and creek. Help around the inside of property would also be helpful. You will have your own bedroom and own bathroom (1 queen for couples and 2 queens for singles). The fridge will be stocked for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch and we all sit together for evening meals which I will prepare. There are many stunning waterfalls and walk...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

We (Bood and Laura) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This place is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). That said, it can get very wet in summer and early autumn; our wet season. Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, cassowary and hundreds of other bird species. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening, in the orchard and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for one or a couple, in ...

Next vacancies likely to be 2nd week of September. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We hatched two goslings in mid July and are hand-rearing them, real characters! We start 4 hours outside work at 08.00 hr, five mornings a week and at 9 am on Sundays. Saturday is your day off. So most of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops. ‍ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course, rainforest walks and river swimming (Mossman River at The Gorge) and free nature tours on crocodile spotting boats on the Daintree River with the #Daintreerivercruisecentre (as Dave sometimes drives their boats and tour-guides for them when needed). We are establishing a m...

Welcome - My name is Shunyam, I live in an alternative community near Bellingen, north coast of NSW, surrounded by National Park & beautiful beach. On the community you can participate in many activities including yoga, surfing, meditation, music, dance classes & working bees, all good ways to meet people. I’ve been living here for more than 30yrs off the grid with solar power, water tanks … In 1988 I started my place with a Permaculture design workshop. I’d say, i am self-sufficient in vegetables & fruit. I have ducks & chickens. I’ve recently set up a big aquaponics system. I’m looking for people keen to help me as their is always too much to do. There is a lovely cabin to stay in for 1 or 2 people. I’m a natural health practitioner. I want people who are interested in learning about alternative lifestyle, non-smokers preferred. I always need help in the garden, especially in summer. I’m looking for people wanting to stay short-term or long-term. Ultimately I am looking ...

Would like to learn and look after a vineyard and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. It is situated in the Swan Valley, 7km from Elenbrook and 15km from the Perth airport. The vineyard has 3,000 vines, a large house we live in, a machinery shed, and a winery/distillery on the property. Winemaking occurs during the summer months from January to March. A large, spacious room with a double bed, attached to the house, has a private entrance. Applications for mature couples as applicants are now open. Opportunities for vineyard and maintenance work are available. Couples with Visitor Visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking and non-vaping) volunteers who wish to experience domestic, distillery, vineyard, and winemaking work. During the season, there are generally outdoor activities, such as winery and vine work, plus gardening if it is not raining o...

Hello! I am Elizabeth and live with my dog Lloyd in Kuranda, Far North Queensland in a lovely house on a half hectare property in the rainforest. The house was built in 2010, so it is comfortable and designed for the tropics. I attempt to work from home. I write (I am hoping to be given a special project to write for Australian children soon and if this happens, I will be busy doing this.), sew, draw. I have grown food here before, but I need now to create good food output - hey the world needs to do this. I have a wheatgrass business I have maintained since 2013. I sing every day and I am a classical singing teacher but do not teach much these days. I have a damaged shoulder and arm, so I can no longer do outside work because my arm is very weak and held together with a steel plate and the screws are coming out. But if I had some help, it would be simply wonderful. I need to have my property tidied up. There are large raised beds here, and they need to be made useful again. They ha...

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them.

Our place is about 20 minutes drive from Healesville, and we can pick you up from the bus stop when you arrive. Initial stays are from 3 to 7 days, with longer stays negotiable. Accommodation is in a two bedroomed, self-contained flat. We share...

Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

They ha...

I have an opening for one volunteer person to help me with everyday life of looking after animals and some gardening, weeding & basic maintenance of the farm and some house duties in COLLINSVILLE north Qld. I only have the capacity for one person. This is a great opportunity to get away from the city life and enjoy some country living. I have cats horses and chooks. There will be horse riding lessons in return for helping with chores & there will be a new foal in October 🐎 😀 Meals accommodation wifi are supplied. Accommodation is a little caravan close by the house, which has a mini art gallery. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...
