I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I have an opening for a volunteer person to help me with everyday life of looking after animals and some gardening, weeding & basic maintenance of the farm and some house duties in COLLINSVILLE north Qld. I can only accommodate one person. This is a great opportunity to get away from the city life and enjoy some country living. I have cats horses and chooks. Our vacancy right now is for help with early morning gardening, housekeeing, cooking and dog walking on the beach. Garden plants are growing fast, as are the weeds! As it is the hot season during February, we start in the garden about 7am after a beach walk. Regarding the DIY and timber work, our next vacancy is likely to be in March when it is cooler. From then on, we shall be looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, with some experience in working with wood, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. I can accommodate one or two FEMALE helpers (Due to the religious Haram restrictions of one of our residents I can't accommodate male helpers) for about a week or so from now on. Minimum stay three nights. Please inquire about available dates. Accommodation (for a single or two females) is in a private room with a double-bed. (Pictured). I have been unwell, have poor eyesight, am on a restricted diet and am often busy doing volunteer community work, so I find it too difficult to have to cook meals and supply food. Hi, we are Zoe (40) and Shmu (39) and live in a small farm house with our 2 young kids, (6 & 3) and a kelpie in the beautiful Manning Valley on the mid coast of NSW. We have an on farm business where we make fermented food and drinks (Bottle Culture) and wholesale them to shops on the east coast of Australia. We also have a side business of regeneratively farmed beef, and am also starting to make tallow based skin care products. We have been on our farm for about 6 years, and there is always lots to do! With a home business and yound kids lots of the farm jobs get put off for too long so we are always needing help! We have a small syntropic style food forest in our backyard, along with a small veggie garden which we would like to expand as well as a small flock of chickens, guinea fowl, and a mob of about 25 cattle. We’ve recently built a wonderfully energy efficient passive solar house, complete with off-grid solar for all our energy needs, rain water collection for all our water needs, and a worm farm waste management system for natural black and grey water processing. We’ve put a lot of work in to achieve a fossil-fuel-free, all-electric, household, with as small an environmental footprint as possible. We’re also lucky to live in a beautiful rural/coastal area near Inverloch, Victoria, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes south-east of Melbourne. We are close to some of Victoria’s most famous wildlife and wilderness attractions, including the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, the Koala Conservation Reserve, and hiking and camping at Wilson’s Promontory (not to mention numerous local beaches and fishing spots only 10 minutes away!).
