Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. We are a multi generation family and we live in a large family home on a beautiful outer suburban property by a creek. On our doorstep are beautiful wildflower walk trails (and kangaroos!:) in Mundy Regional Park and Lesmurdie Falls National Park. Kanyana Wildlife sanctuary is nearby. We have a large garden that needs lots of work. I have an art studio where I conduct art classes for children. We are predominantly an arable farm growing a large amount of garlic. Seasonally, we also grow egg plant, rhubarb, ginger, turmeric, pumpkin, yukon, artichoke, cucumber and corn, and whatever else we can put in the ground. All of our grown produce is certified organic. Where I live is Australia's best kept secret. I'm close to deserted beaches, the Snowy River, lakes, mountains and unspoilt, deserted beaches (though beaches are not within walking distance). I live here with 2 horses and a miniature horse and the abundant wildlife that calls this place home. We are a family-run commercial mango farm, producing and drying mangoes. The work is mainly gardening drying mangoes and packing dried fruit and sometime we dry pineapple and dry banana, cleaning and cooking.
