We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. There is work removing trees, tidying up the garden and removing debris from the fires and recent storms. There is also cleaning work helping Cate with property management. During free time you are welcome to borrow our electric scooters and go swimming and exploring. We live in Mallacoota, one of Australia's most beautiful places on the southeast coast. It is a World Biosphere Reserve in the middle of the Croajingolong National Park next to the ocean with an estuarine lake system and many, many beaches. We are 2km from the town centre and 3km from the nearest beach. There are about seven magnificent beaches within 10km of us. Mallacoota is 540km from Melbourne, 630km from Sydney and 360km from Canberra with limited access via public transport so keep that in mind when planning your schedule. Our family includes M...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

This is a 13 acre (5.1 ha) property in Robinson, west of Albany. It is a new property for us so we are currently planting trees to re-vegetate the property. We have an extensive home orchard and several vegetable gardens. Our animals include chickens, geese, ducks and horses as well as rapidly increasing herd of milking goats. We like having help for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours late afternoon - generally coinciding with feeding animals and milking/bottle feeding times.

Hi, we are looking for one or two keen, healthy helpers to work with us on a range of tasks.🌻 We have a small berry orchard and vegetable gardens with roaming Guinea fowl, friendly kangaroos and our cute indoor house cats. The rest of the property is natural woodlands and we try to live as sustainably as possible. We have built our own unique home and there are still some parts to complete. Helpers with some skills are welcome but an actual interest in experiencing a more sustainable life during your stay with us is more important. Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. Seven years ago, Tim and I moved to our little farm, and we've been busy ever since; growing a garden, planting trees, and learning how to care for the land. We joined Landcare to better understand the local trees and wildlife, especially the ones that need a bit of extra protection. Tim is a retired engineer and has a knack for designing and building, so he’s been having a great time working on the infrastructure around the property. As for me, I’m a creative arts teacher and public health practitioner. I still teach both online and on campus at an Australian university, balancing my work with farm life. One of my biggest passions here is my rose garden with 400 fragrant bushes, and I'm dreaming of making rose water and rose oil one day. We’ve also got a thriving organic fruit and veggie garden, with plenty of fruit trees and a mix of seasonal vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies, and we’re just a short stroll from the Murray River, perfect for a bit of fishing. I lo...

UPDATE: ***I have enough tasks for 1-2 helpers for a few days from 17th December up to 23rd December maximum. At this stage, please do not make contact unless these specific dates fit for you, so, if you're happy with a short stay let me know. Since the weather will be hot and I'll be working early some of those dates, I will be relying on helpers to get up early (I mean 6am, not 9am), do a few hours before the heat then the rest of the day will be available to go sightseeing. Skills I need this time could include basic construction, gardening, sewing, and labouring. I am a career Broadcaster translating to Strategic Intervention life coaching and Real Estate investing. I have space in my newly built home that has a great garden (under construction - almost finished) in a lovely suburb of Perth. I'm excited about all the wonderful stuff in front of me, but need some help dealing with the general house and garden stuff, minor construction, painting, cooking or maybe in the office w...

Welcome! I am Fern. I live together with my 3 year old daughter on our small, off grid and very humble farmlet in Guildford, Central Victoria. Guildford is home to one of Victoria's largest river red gums. It is over 500 years old. It's a very small town with only a general store, primary school & pub, half way between Castlemaine & Daylesford. We have been on this land for 1 and a half years & have started using permaculture principals & design. So far, we have completed the fence line, (to keep the rabbits out) & joyously have begun some planting both in the food forest, cottage garden & in the veggie patch. We always have seeds growing in our tiny greenhouse. Fern has a background in florist & plant nursery work and has completed a PDC. Currently a full time Mama, her interest lie in walking softly on this earth, while the little one loves watching the abundant birdlife in our vast open skies! I love kirtan and am busy immersing ourselves in the local community. There maybe a proj...

My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components. I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 3-5 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest hourly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for 4-5 ho...

We have a rustic little campground, a vegie garden, a few pigs and sheep, and a mix of day-to-day jobs that help keep the property running smoothly. Life here is simple, relaxed and very outdoorsy. We offer accommodation in our onsite caravan or a powered van site in exchange for around 10 hours of help per week. We’re flexible with how the hours are done — you can do more on some days and take others off, depending on the tasks and your plans. Its super close to town of Mullumbimby so you can walk easily and short drive to Byron Bay or Brunswick Heads beaches. There is a large yurt with lounge and king size bed. I'm currently looking for someone to start ASAP and paid work is available that can count towards your 88 Days. Hi, I’m a single father of two living in Baudin Beach a small seaside town located 12km from Penneshaw which is the entry point to Kangaroo Island. I have shared custody of my children, my 11 year old son is with me 3 or 4 days a week and my 3 year old daughter who I have most weekends. I owned a Backpackers for about 5 years and had great experiences there with helpx helpers so I have decided to do a home stay as I’m overwhelmed with the work I have to do around the house. Baudin Beach is a small coastal town with about 200 residence, there are no shops close by but there are Kangaroos that often hop by and the beach is about a 5 minute walk from the house. Penneshaw is the closest town with a Pub, post office, supermarket and a few cafe's. There are lots of tourist spots on the island that I can show you and I'm happy to take you on a full day tour of the island in excha...

We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. I lo...

Welcome!

Hi, it's Stephen and Philamae. We have a beautiful property in Buckland, Tasmania (45mins NE from Hobart airport). The views are stunning - the accommodation is lovely now that its 4 year build has just completed, and we are running it as holiday accommodation! The place will get even more enjoyable and beautiful as we create this funky mini-retreat space. The experience of the place - and Tasmania as a whole - is soul stirring. Lots of beautiful animals surround us - sheep, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bunnies and the occasional deer and eagle.. See our Airbnb listing with over 60 photos via our website link below. Generally we look for Helpxers to help with the gardening and house cleaning. Across Nov/Dec/Jan it will be a lot of room cleaning/making up for our Airbnb setup, so we need somebody who cleans to a high standard and ideally likes cleaning & housekeeping! The next specific needs are: a) We have found helpers now lined up to the end of February. For 2026 we are look...
