We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. We are 10 minutes from Byron and we can see the famous Byron lighthouse from our front balcony. We need help in managing a 6000 sq meter block with a garden that needs a lot of work and a big house that needs cleaning. Our house has views and a pool and spa as well as a media room, all of which, we share with you. If you are over 25, we can lend you a small Toyota Yaris which is registered for free Byron Bay parking. You can use it for short trips into Byron and but you will need to work out how to share the car and petrol costs if we have several helpers staying. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover younger drivers and without a car, you may find us too isolated as there is no public transport.
