PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, There is a hammock i...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to get ducks in addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Besides having a few rooms available, there're also 2 campervans if you have the desi...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years. We enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this t...

The property is set in a typical 25 acres native Australian bushland, large dam and a creek flowing thru the property, there is a quaint cottage that we lived in for 2 1/2years that will become your home , we now live in our new house that we built which is completely off grid, we generate our own solar power and have our own water supply. At the moment we are in the process of landscaping the surroundings and working on final details, we are looking for helpers who likes to be outdoors and challenge themselves with different chores like assisting with landscaping , gardening, painting, and sit around the fire in the evening and chill. All task performed are tailored to your personal ability. We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. We are a retired couple, enjoying a peaceful life on our 2.5 acres, surrounded by farm land overlooking the Strzelecky Ranges. We have two dogs, Shadow who's 14 and Daisy 4, and 9 chickens and 3 chicks. Serena has planted lots of trees and shrubs, a nice vegetable garden, but it's all getting out of hand! We'd like someone to assist us with carting mulch, cutting back trees and shrubs, splitting and stacking firewood (don't worry, we have a hydraulic log splitter), general garden maintenance jobs and perhaps some external painting (the house is due for a paint job, we have started already but there's plenty left!). We ask for 2 hours/day (for a couple) or 3 hours/day (single person) in return for lodging in your own studio apartment in the main house, with Queen bedroom, private sitting room, amenity area and private bathroom (if it happens to be booked out for an AirBnB we can accommodate you in our vintage Jayco Camper). Eric's a good cook so you won't go hungry! Essential you have ...

We are located just 1 hour (35km) north of Melbourne's CBD in a picturesque and peaceful community called Arthurs Creek. Our property is a 140 acre "bush block" that is surrounded by natural bushland (Kinglake National Park and Yan Yean Reservoir). We have rolling hills with gullies and creeks to explore on foot or on our purpose built mountain bike track. Along the way you will see and hear kangaroos, lyre birds, wombats and maybe even the odd koala. You will also have access to a pool and tennis court should the weather be on your side. We are both in our mid 40's and have two young boys; we all love to have fun outside and so come and join us. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals or couples to help with general gardening and maintenance around and in the house. Jobs might include: weeding, pruning, household cleaning, window cleaning, firewood collection, fencing, painting etc (please do let us know if you have any trades or handy experience as we have som...

In late February or early March 2026, I would like to offer accommodation for up to a week (longer stays to be negotiated) and food in exchange for 3-4 hours work per day: general maintenance, carpentry, painting, gardening, minor repairs, cleaning and possibly pet sitting my little dog. Helping times are very flexible. The room is airy and comfortable, with 2 single beds. The bathroom is shared with me. I am in need of an independent person who is a self-starter and can work unsupervised. Handyperson/carpentry skills and own transportation are essential. There is a bus stop nearby. I am a busy artist living in a funky, eclectic beach property on a quiet street. It is a 5-minute walk to an uncrowded, beautiful surf beach with many walking tracks. The property is 8km south of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, one of Australia's most iconic tourist destinations. Peregian Beach village is only 3km south, with great restaurants, boutique shopping, an IGA, and a patrolled beach. Brisbane is an h...

Sorry, no vacancy right now. Currently full. Later on we shall require help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, upgrading a dinghy to fit a roof and remote steering, repairs to trailer and for help with early morning gardening, housekeeing, cooking and dog walking on the beach. Regarding the DIY and timber work, our next vacancy is likely to be in March when it is cooler. From then on, we shall be looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, with some experience in working with wood, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings are beautiful. Much of the work, in addition to the above, from March on, will be outside; ...

Would like to learn and look after a vineyard, distillery and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. It is situated in the Swan Valley, 7km from Elenbrook and 15km from the Perth airport. The vineyard has 3,000 vines, a large house we live in, a machinery shed, and a winery/distillery on the property. Winemaking occurs during the summer months from January to March. A large, spacious room has a double bed attached to the house with a private entrance. Applications for COUPLES or TWO people are open now. Opportunities for summer vineyard and winemaking work are available now, starting in January 2026. Couples with Visitor visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking) volunteers who wish to experience distillery, vineyard, and winemaking work. We live on a farm on Kangaroo Island where we farm with sheep and run a cropping enterprise. My husband is Australian and I am South African and I speak English and Afrikaans. Travis runs the farm with his brother and team, and I am a dietitian working in town. We have 2 kids, aged 6 and 8, and also have pets: horse, dogs, cat, chickens, canaries. We are looking for someone to help us out mainly with housekeeping/gardening as I have had several surgeries to my wrists and have limited functionality of my hands and chronic pain, hence basic housework are quite challenging for me. We have a large farmyard/garden which needs ongoing care, although we have adapted it to be more low maintenance due to my health issue. If you are happy to entertain the kids for an hour or two here and there whilst I do an errand in town etc, that would be a big plus. The kids are used to having HelpX/Au pairs around and they love interacting and getting to know new people. Should you be interested to be invol...

Hello! We’re a small family - Matt, Tash and our baby girl Toni. We live on a relaxed 10 acre hobby farm with our two friendly dogs, sheep and chickens. We are located just 12 minutes from Warrnambool and Koroit, and about 25 minutes from Port Fairy. We’re surrounded by beaches and volcanic countryside. We’re looking for a helping hand around the property and in the garden with jobs like weeding, raking, planting, chainsawing (if experienced) and general maintenance around the garden and house. Most of the work is outdoors and can be quite physical, so it suits someone active with a positive, can do attitude. You’ll stay in either our spare room in our house, loft room in shed, or a fully equipped caravan, depending on availability. You’ll have access to Wi-Fi, all the usual amenities, a pool to cool down in and a theatre room to relax in during your downtime. We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and healthy snacks. Helping time can be up to 4 hours a day, sometimes a bit less,...

Hello travellers! My name is Liam and I’m looking for some help landscaping ahead of building a sauna on my property. Guests will have their own room, with queen bed, wifi, and located only 15 minutes to Hobart CBD. About me: I’m in my early 30ies and work full time in town. I love getting out there all over tassie, including mountain biking, fossicking, rock climbing, saunas (obviously) and hiking. Closer to home, I enjoy baking, board games and woodworking. I travelled a lot in my early twenties and did a lot of couch surfing, and hosted back here in Aus. I love the community feel and cultural exchange that happens thanks to couch surfing and am really excited to host more people via HelpX. You and your stay: I’m happy to host a couple or individuals and could potentially host two couples. We’ll be sharing the space including bathroom and kitchen facilities. I want everyone to feel at home and you’re very welcome to join me on social and weekend adventures, including rock climb...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

We are a family run business operating an Oyster Farm on Moreton Island plus a retail shop on the property selling fresh seafood. We are happy to accept travellers and have had some wonderful experiences with wwoofers already. We offer accommodation and food in exchange for work. Accommodation is a studio apartment separate from the main house. We generally only pick up people on a Thursday or Friday from North Stradbroke Island in our boat. Duties include, building water infrastructure, making oyster bags, culling and sorting Oysters, general farm hand on the land base and grading of oyster. A working day normally starts at 8am and finishes around 2pm generally and breaks for morning tea and lunch of course. Most times on a Sunday we have to harvest oysters ready for work on Monday, but this only takes about 1 hour Moreton Island is remote even though close to Brisbane, we have to generate our own power via solar and also collect our own rain water. If you love nature, hiki...

My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components. I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 3-5 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest hourly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for 4-5 ho...

“Work is love made visible” …Kahlil Gibran If you understand the above quotation then you are the HELPER I want. Please, read EVERYTHING below before requesting hosting. I have only recently returned from a volunteer project in Fiji. Now I am renovating a very old miner's cottage on a half-acre in a cute rural village in central NSW. The Cottage is about 150 years old, built originally with timber that was milled on-site by hand. The original Cypress Pine slabs stand vertical. The cottage is being creatively renovated to display its history and highlight modern, country, lifestyle. The grounds are destined to be turned into organic food gardens and a native species garden. Room for you in-house or caravan. YOU could learn a lot about the Aussie lifestyle, sustainable living, alternative building ...AND have a lot of fun, if you choose to HelpX with Donny. ABOUT DONNY: Donny is a real Aussie Character: He is a retired, alternative builder. He is also an event manager, writer, m...

We live on a large residential property approximately 1 hour NNW from Cairns city, 15 minutes further West of Kuranda in FNQ. It is a family home with myself, my partner and our two young girls aged 3 & 4 years. We have 2 large dogs who live outside in the garden. We are a young (ish family), Myself, the father is 39 years of age and my partner is 33. We are friendly, sociable and enjoy company. We are both well travelled ourselves and decided to settle down and make FNQ home. I am from the UK and arrived in Cairns 14 years ago with the intention of spending a few weeks and fell in love with the area, the reef and the fishing!. My partner, Tui, was born in Spain and then lived in the UK before coming here to Australia 10 years ago. Tui speaks fluent Spanish and does a great job of passing this on to our daughters. Our daughters are nice well behaved girls and thrive on meeting new people. We all eat very well. Healthy, good quality home cooked food mostly but don't mind the odd meal ou...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

I like to show people how they can live on the land sustainably, how they can build their own sustainable homes and grow their own food...., using what is around them, to adapt to their environment and adopt permaculture principals to suit their own needs. I'm looking for mature couples or singles who are travelling around the South West in their Camper Van or Car with tent etc..., basically they need to be mostly self contained. I have some nice camp sites here that are clean, safe and located in a private, natural setting. I will provide access to clean toilet and shower. If you would like to come, stay and help me here, please send me a message ! I can help you with many other things.., I can usually help you locate services or locations that only long time locals will know ! I have lived on my own little permaculture farm beside the Leeuwin/Naturaliste National Park forest since 1982. I have built my own home using local granite stone and timber( milled from the floor of my cr...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

PLEASE NOTE I WILL HAVE GUESTS HERE FROM MID JANUARY UNTIL MID FEBRUARY. NO OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE HELP.X HELPERS. I'm looking for people to help me in my garden, with house work and some small handyman jobs if possible. I have a lovely garden. I would love a person, or two people, to stay for one week or so, from time to time, to help me maintain it. My house is in a beautiful suburb near North Hobart. You can walk to the city in about half an hour but fortunately there is a bus stop just across the road too because the return walk is steeply uphill! I love having people staying and sharing this lovely place. I would much prefer genuine travellers and people who know about gardening. I would prefer someone who is strong to help me lift things. Definitely someone prepared to get their hands dirty. It would also be good if they are prepared to help with housework, cooking and clearing up after meals. I have an adorable dog and a quiet cat.

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko.

We are looking 2 people from the 8th of March til the 21st of March or part of the time. Or from the 19th of April for around 10 days. We are looking for a couple to help us around our house doing gardening and painting as well as cleaning. Must have own transport or be willing to take the bus or walk. We live on the beautiful Central coast which is half way between Sydney and Newcastle. Our house is located 5min drive from the beach and have a bus stop at the end of the road. There is a lovely lake at the end of the lane and there are lovely walks around us as we live near National Parkes. We are about 1 hour from Sydney by train. We are a family of 4 with very busy lives. On some weekends we also do markets selling handcrafted local jams and chutneys. And during the week we work and the kids do a lot of after school sports. We love helpX and the exchange of cultures and ideas as well as different foods. You will be very welcome to cook anytime for the family and share your favou...

Hi Everyone We are a Mixed farming enterprise with scattered properties.(110 kms away) We have Cattle, Sheep. and seasonal cropping. We have 2 resident working dogs. The home and accommodation are on the Beach front in a small coastal town. The beach front home is only 100mts to the ocean so great for all beach activities out the front gate. There is Separate accommodation to main house with amenities. Work will involve travelling to the several properties to help inspect livestock waters and wellbeing. Other jobs include feeding stock, gardening, marking calves, drafting and loading sheep shifting hay, loading hay so being able to drive a tractor is an advantage. These work times are usually a short period and not every day. So there will be several days where you will be able to do your own thing. There are numerous scenic and tourist destinations close by.

You will need to tolerate them as th...
