G`day guys & girls . If you want Some good Aussie hospitality, come and stay with us. The volunteer work here counts for the 88 days for your visa as this area was subject to big flooding. We are living on a 200 hectare farm in Rollands Plains. Located on the mid north coast, surrounded by hills and valleys, great for bushwalking and exploring if that's what you`re into. PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, There is a hammock i...

Our home is a large old weatherboard house in beautiful Sherbrooke, in the Mount Dandenong Ranges. This dear old place may one-day soon again become guest-house, like it was 100 years ago. Meantime both house and garden need plenty of tender loving care. The hills are a popular destination, with native forests for walking, public gardens, villages, cafes, good coffee, and galleries. See: http://www.villagesofmtdandenong.com.au/ for a look at the attractions. Sherbrooke itself is made up of a state forest and a mountain village. It is recognised internationally as the home of the Lyrebird, and many native birds visit us daily. Sherbrooke is one hour drive east of Melbourne city, or 1 hour on the train from Melbourne to nearby Belgrave. As a busy professional household, in recent years we have been grateful for helpers' assistance with yard-work, household chores, firewood management and painting. We have a large organic home fruit and vegetable garden. Skills needed now include ga...

HI HELPERS!!! WELCOME TO JOHN`S FUN FACTORY!!! BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. I have been a volunteer host for 18 years and I have had more than 1700(Yes!!!you read it correctly!) fabulous, lovely, wonderful volunteers stay with me. Many of them have come back for second, third…or even 10th visits!!!!! Work can be really diverse including tree planting, mowing grass, helping to install forest fire...

I live in the town of Wagga Wagga only minutes from the town centre that is accessible by walking or bus. I have been a Permaculture practitioner for 40 years and so I grow perennials including berries, apples, quince, herbs, quails on my little urban property. I have designed my place so I collect a lot of the water that falls on my land, I recycle and compost all organic waste and produce very little hard waste. I live here on my own mostly but sometimes my children are here. I am also a Yoga Instructor. If you come to stay and help me, I'd be happy for you to join my general classes at a Yoga Centre in town on Monday and Wednesday evenings. I also teach yoga at my home most weekday evenings and sometimes private classes in the daytime. I also have a small property just out of town. This is developed in to an allotment type garden where 14 people rent out small plots to do their own gardening. It's very new but going well and has a good vibe. This allotment garden is always in ne...

Hello travellers ! The rain(unless a cyclone comes down from the North) has basically finished now..., from now on it's going to be warm and getting warmer..., to HOT(Jan/Feb) I invite helpers who are travelling in a camper van or similar to come and help here. This is a "very special location" because it is 'away' from the hustle of Margaret River(20 min away) and only 15 min drive to Augusta..., also It is very close to Hamelin Bay and it's right beside a tall forest National Park. All the usual native animals roam freely over this land - Kangaroo, Emu, Possum, reptile and so many birds are in abundance on this land. I need a couple of helpers here..., who are staying in their own camper van, roof top tent or similar..., I provide clean toilets and showers plus rain water. There are also some really nice and private 'set up' camp sites here. I ask for 2 hours easy work in exchange for helpers experiencing this special location !. The kind of help needed is....., weeding..., r...

We are a retired couple, but very active and busy. As a result, we are struggling to keep up with tasks like weeding our vegetable garden, lawn mowing, other simple garden maintenance and light housework & house maintenance. We would greatly appreciate anyone who could help with any of these tasks - and even cook a little if you enjoy doing that. We live in a beautiful and accessible part of the Adelaide Hills. We often see and hear koalas in the trees around us, we are just a few minutes drive from Mt. Lofty and Cleland Conservation Park and the Mt. Lofty Botanic Gardens and a 15 minute drive from the lovely tourist village of Hahndorf. There are also many walking trails including the Heysen Trail virtually on our doorstep. Don't be surprised if you see colourful parrots in our trees or eating from our birdfeeder almost every day. We also have a very friendly small dog! The city of Adelaide is just a 20 min drive away and if you don't have a car, there is a bus stop right o...

Hi my name is Joanna and Im an open minded, friendly, well travelled single woman. I love to learn about different cultures and languages and share the beauty of the paradise I call home. I live on a 1/4 acre palm fringed block about 15 minutes out of the cairns city. It is very quiet and you will look over the large swimming pool from our breezy deck. Gaze at the stars and the mountains nearby. It is like living in nature with out going too far from the city. My house is a brand new 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, architectural dream. I need your help with garden maintenance, cleaning, odd jobs and driving me to and from the town as I am now in a wheelchair. I am very independent and able to get around. I really would like company and to share a chat over delicious meals. We share the space with Charlie a friendly well behaved golden retriever who is mega laid back.

This is a 13 acre (5.1 ha) property in Robinson, west of Albany. It is a new property for us so we are currently planting trees to re-vegetate the property. We have an extensive home orchard and several vegetable gardens. Our animals include chickens, geese, ducks and horses as well as rapidly increasing herd of milking goats. We like having help for a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours late afternoon - generally coinciding with feeding animals and milking/bottle feeding times.

Hi, I run an alpaca stud specialising in suri alpacas. I also run Wiltipoll sheep as a source of meat. I am attempting to be fully self sufficient and the accommodation is all off grid (but very high tech). There is also satellite TV for the evenings. However, you still need to be aware of not leaving electrical appliances and lights running unnecessarily as well as 5 minute showers. I have only been living here since August 2014 and am still building the garden to the standard I want as well as fencing off various areas. I have internet access via satellite which is quite reliable and your phone will default to going through the satellite. Otherwise, mobile phone coverage is variable - if you are with Optus there is very little signal. You are best off with Telstra as there seems to be better coverage by them. you can access your phone via the wifi which is satellite and more reliable. If you are looking for a party scene this is not the place. My place is very quiet and tranquil a...

At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! We welcome volunteers, preferably couples with their own car, to our peaceful 20-acre property just 45 minutes south of Perth’s CBD. We’re a professional couple who take pride in our land and the animals we care for, three ponies, four horses, an Angus steer, two dogs, a cat, and ten chickens. It’s a friendly, down-to-earth environment where helpers can enjoy country life and lend a hand with daily routines on the property You’ll have your own comfortable room in our home with a queen-size bed, unlimited fast WiFi, and all meals provided – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In exchange, we ask for 4 hours of help per day, 5 days a week. The work is physical and hands-on, including property maintenance and land regeneration. A good level of fitness and practical skills in manual labour are essential. Experience in areas like carpentry, mechanics, or farm/horse work is strongly preferred. This is not a role suited to those without hands-on experience or a willingness to work hard outdoors....

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Miss Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown garden. In addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spar bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We have had great experiences with travellers so far as Mars's former partner has been on HelpX for quite some time. Maryborough is only 30 minutes away from Hervey Bay with beautiful beaches overlooking Frazer Island. Maryborough is a beautiful old heritage town with a lot of old buildings and parks all around. We're just a few metres away from the Mary ...

Set in a hidden valley of Woonona, this 1 acre oasis is on a journey from forgotten, overgrown grassland to Permaculture wonderland! We have been practicing aspects of sustainability for over 15 years including Permaculture gardening, sustainable building and creating community. Sarah has a deep level of knowledge about market gardening, soil building and organic food & is a qualified Permaculture teacher. Ben is skilled at building with recycled, reclaimed and natural materials, tending fruit trees and teaching ecology & sustainability. The property is located about 5 minutes bike ride from lovely beaches and 5 minutes walk from local shops and access to buses into Wollongong. It`s also only 1.5hrs from Sydney by train. We spent 2010 WWOOFing around the planet with our two children, so we understand how to be good hosts. We love sharing lifestyle and experiences, so hopefully we can help you explore this wonderful part of the world. The current projects involve a range of gardeni...

Welcome to this very special place by the beach along the East Coast in Tasmania. We live on just over 4 acres of land and are starting to create a garden and renovate our shed. Gardening and wood splitting experience would be great and an interest in community living. We are part of an online community, see my website link below, which includes a vision of lived community with values of nonviolence and liberation for all. I am also a facilitator of the Work that Reconnects, see website link below. If you have an interest in exploring how we can live on the earth more lightly and in a regenerative way, this is the place to come and explore and have those conversations. We are just starting on this journey on this land and are experimenting in what supports choice, togetherness and flow as an antidote to scarcity, separation and powerlessness. Whilst all this may sound 'intense' we balance it with walks along the gorgeous Four Mile Creek Beach, surfing (if you have your own board)...

Hello! My name’s Emily, and I have two lovely kids (a teenage boy and primary school age girl). We live in South Hobart, which is a vibrant and welcoming community. We are only five minutes' drive from central Hobart. Although we are close to the city, our house is set among beautiful bush land with views of Mt. Wellington and the Derwent River. You would be sleeping in a spare room in our house and sharing our kitchen and bathroom facilities; you are welcome to join us for (mostly vegetarian) meals. SMALL ORGANIC PERMACULTURE FARM General organic farm work. We are located in the lushest greenest valley of Victoria. The tasks will be a mix of bed preparation, planting, propagating seeds, general maintenance like mowing and weeding, and care of our animals. A level of fitness is required as the work can be physically demanding at times. Building or painting skills or experience would be an advantage over the summer period. About us: This is a co-operative permaculture farm, and a community of 3 families and more who value and practice yoga, alternative therapies, conscious parenting, education, hand crafting and self sufficiency skills and technologies. We have an organic veggie growing CSA garden, an heirloom seedlings nursery, and an events space focusing on arts, crafts, permaculture education and wellbeing. We have 3 goats, 20-30 chickens, sheep and are planting a food forest and fruit orchards. We have found that people who are interested in permaculture, intentional com...

You would be sleeping in a spare room in our house and sharing our kitchen and bathroom facilities; you are welcome to join us for (mostly vegetarian) meals. We all love going on adventures and being in nature. We are a very queer-friendly house, so it’s essential that you are comfortable and relaxed around people who are gay, bi, trans, and polyamorous. 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ We have travelled widely, and are welcoming, anti-racist and open minded. Our other interests include writing, art, building Lego, playing music, theatre and musicals. Guests who are creative, heartfelt, good with children, self-sufficient and playful are very welcome. Te...
