I'm Julie and my partner Charles and we are an older (in age) couple living the dream and have a small slice of heaven in the Tweed Caldera surrounded by a lot of Australia's wildlife. Our place is 26km inland from Murwillumbah. It's a 45 minute drive from Gold Coast airport, just over the Queensland border. We are 900kms north of Sydney. It is a 1 hour 20 minute flight to Gold Coast (OOL). From Sydney to Murwillumbah by bus takes 15 hours. When not working we travel to SE Asia and bush walk our local area. We are both accepting of all and our mantra is 'Peace, Love and Understanding'. There are no rigid helping hours or conditions. Jobs are dependent on weather conditions and what needs to be done at that time and what helpers would like to get involved with. Julie is multi skilled and talented in lots of areas. Conversation is never dull! Charles was born in Scotland and lived in Canada before coming to Australia. He also has a wide range of interests and skills. You name it,...

Our cat owns the home, our chickens lay eggs regularly and we're working on our relationship with our sheep. If you love wildlife, the outdoors, great views and good food, send us an email (only emails from this site will be responded to). This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON *Got a garden that needs cleaning up at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one farmer, one dog, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. Would like to learn and look after a vineyard, distillery and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and has hosted HELPXers for over 15 years it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. A large spacious room has a double bed attached to the house with a private entrance. Applications for COUPLES or two people are open now, starting on March 5th. Couples with Visitor visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking) volunteers who wish to experience distillery, vineyard and winemaking work. “Work is love made visible” …Kahlil Gibran If you understand the above quotation then you are the HELPER I want. Please, read EVERYTHING below before requesting hosting. I recently bought a very old miner's cottage on a half-acre in a cute rural village in central NSW. The Cottage is about 130 years old, built originally with timber that was milled on-site by hand. The original Cypress Pine slabs stood vertical. The cottage will be creatively renovated to display its history and highlight modern, country, lifestyle. The grounds are destined to be turned into organic food gardens and a native species garden. I have a great 'Gypsie Camp' set up on the block, with canvass and caravan. YOU could learn a lot about the Aussie lifestyle, sustainable living, alternative building ...AND have a lot of fun, if you choose to HelpX with Donny. ABOUT DONNY: Donny is a real Aussie Character: He is a retired, alternative builder. He is also an event manager, writer, musician, knowledgeable ga...

If you’re interested in helping on a beef cattle farm, cuddling foals and experiencing the Aussie farm life, you are most welcome here. We have a number of building jobs going at the moment so if you are handy with mechanics, metal, wood or a paint brush, that would be very helpful to us. Your daily tasks would be to feed the animals in the morning and evening, and caring for the mare and foal, gardening and general farm chores or in the household. There is always something to do. It would be great if you know how to drive a manual vehicle and you can learn to drive a tractor or a quad here. In exchange you can choose between a cozy room or caravan with everything inside that you need and I provide food for all your meals. You prepare your own breakfast and lunch and in the evening we have a home cooked dinner together. We also have unlimited WiFi and a car that you can use to visit the local area. We are located on the edge of a small country town of Blayney in NSW, 3 hours w...

I'm Julie and my partner Charles and we are an older (in age) couple living the dream and have a small slice of heaven in the Tweed Caldera surrounded by a lot of Australia's wildlife.

Derek and Kelly here - hailing from South Africa we've lived in Queensland for 4 years and recently relocated to beautiful, cold, remote and super friendly Tasmania! We're city folk who've recently purchased our rural home on 4ha / 8 acres. 15 minutes from Scottsdale (a good sized small town), 30 min to seaside Bridport, 40 min to Launceston and a gorgeous drive to seaside St Helens. 5 min to Bridestowe lavender farm (in bloom December & January) There's minimal public transport with a daily bus into and out from Launceston close by so own transport is recommended if you would like to sight see and tour Tassie. We have a queen sized bed for you (single or couple) a shared bathroom, kitchen, living area and outside deck An indoor fireplace and one on the patio outside for cold days. Our cat owns the home, our chickens lay eggs regularly and we're working on our relationship with our sheep. This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level. We are surrounded by National Parks and abundant wildlife. The property is 6Ha with a sub-tropical climate and has great country views to the North up to 140km on a clear day. If you’re interested in helping on a beef cattle farm, cuddling foals and experiencing the Aussie farm life, you are most welcome here. We have a number of building jobs going at the moment so if you are handy with mechanics, metal, wood or a paint brush, that would be very helpful to us. It would be great if you know how to drive a manual vehicle and you can learn to drive a tractor or a quad here. In exchange you can choose between a cozy room or caravan with everything inside that you need and I provide food for all your meals.
