Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

We warmly welcome volunteers to our peaceful 20-acre property, just 45 minutes south of Perth CBD. As a professional couple who love our land and the animals we share it with – including four horses, three ponies, an Angus steer, two dogs, a cat, and ten chickens – we’re excited to offer a unique and rewarding stay to the right helpers. You’ll have your own comfortable room with a queen-size bed, unlimited fast WiFi, and all meals provided – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In exchange, we ask for 4 hours of help per day, 5 days a week. The work is physical and hands-on, including property maintenance and land regeneration. A good level of fitness and practical skills in manual labour are essential. Experience in areas like carpentry, mechanics, or farm/horse work is strongly preferred – this is not a role suited to those without hands-on experience or a willingness to work hard outdoors. Please note: Housekeeping and cooking are not part of the role. We enjoy hosting open-minded guest...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

*** Available from November 23rd 2025 *** *** Just a quick visa heads-up!... Immigration rules have tightened a bit lately — sometimes even helping out in exchange for a place to stay can be seen as “work,” which might technically need a visa that allows it. Most guests have never had a problem, but it’s smart to check the latest rules and think about how you describe your plans at the border. Just something to keep in mind! *** We are a small family - two parents and a 10 year old boy. We also have a couple of very friendly cats and some fish. Our place is 5 minutes walk from the centre of Fremantle, 7 minutes cycle to South Beach and close to all amenities. Fremantle is a great transportation hub and has an amazing live music, cafe and arts scene. Our house is 110 years old with high ceilings and a chilled out vibe in a friendly street close to Wray Ave. We are enthusiastic vergeside collectors who try to salvage things from other people's rubbish before it reaches landfill and ...

ENJOY THE FREEDOM & BEAUTY OF SOUTH GIPPSLAND. Property is a botanic garden of Australian native plants, many rare or endangered, plus an acre of plants for cut flowers, mainly proteas, banksias and tea trees. Lots of wildlife. We need help with weeding, mowing, mulching, planting and general clean up as the property is too big for the two of us to maintain. Accommodation is very comfortable, private, with fully set up kitchen in a studio style cottage with a queen size bed and smart TV. Recently installed a new electric oven with airfry function. Has split system heating and cooling. It is separate from the main house. It was a very popular AirBnB destination but we have decided not to do it anymore as it is too much extra work. The property is rural; half way between Wonthaggi and Inverloch so having a car is convenient but there are local buses from Wonthaggi. The coast is a 10 minute drive where beaches, coastal walks, fishing & surfing are to be enjoyed. Jenny is a very active pho...

🏡 Stay in a Unique Wildlife Sanctuary near Currumbin Beach – Help with Gardening, House Projects & More I’m Deborah, and I live in a peaceful bushland home on the ridge in Elanora, on the beautiful Gold Coast (Southeast Queensland). The property is part of a koala sanctuary — wallabies regularly visit the backyard, and if you’re patient, you might spot a koala in the treetops. You’ll definitely hear them at night! Despite the natural setting, we’re only a 5-minute drive from Currumbin Beach and close to local shopping centres, bushwalks, weekend markets, and iconic surf spots. 🌿 About the Stay: I’ve recently moved back into my home and am still getting everything properly set up after a long and difficult few years dealing with insurance and rebuilding. The house is a work in progress — but a beautiful one — and helpers have always been welcome here. Sleeping arrangements currently include inflatable bedding, and there are still some basic household things being sorted out. Most gu...

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience email us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

I'd appreciate some help to plant some trees. It's not a huge job but it's a nice way to leave a legacy for someone. After 25 years of doing this I've decided to limit the people I will accept. Potential helpers must have comprehensive knowledge of what they are doing. No first timers. I no longer have the patience to train people. I think it's a bit of 'grumpy old man syndrome'. ABSOLUTELY,No smoking or vaping on the property at all. No exceptions. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT FOLLOWED THIS GUIDELINE. I prefer to breathe clean air. NO SMELLY, PERFUMED SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, BODYWASH SUNSCREENS OR DEODORANTS PLEASE, I CAN SUPPLY ALTERNATIVES. How about heading south to the most beautiful part of Australia? Or if you are already in Tasmania, that's a bonus. We are always welcoming and love to show off our stunning island home. Work would involve getting the garden ready for planting this Spring and other various farm jobs. Nothing too hard or difficult. I'd like some help...

Hi everyone my name is David, and I live at in Mount Warning Caldera in Northern NSW. The closest town is Murwillumbah, which is approx a 30 min drive away. I designed and built my property back in the early 80’s. There are 9 other properties out here, but we all have a lot of space as we are on 450 acres of land. The house sits on a ridge, with views of the Springbrook Plateau, and is surrounded by lush rainforest. I am interested in hearing from suitable single female helpers that are able to stay around 3-4 weeks from early November onwards and can assist with care and maintenance of my sailing catamaran and home. My preference for female helpers is largely to do with the type of work you will perform and attention to detail that is required, and I have found female helpers to be much better than males over the last 10 years of hosting HelpX persons. When I have work that is better suited to males I will advertise as such….just not needed now. We will spend some time around the Whitsunday islands then cruise south towards Great Keppel island and Lady Musgrave reef as weather permits. I have no schedule at present but there will be plenty of places to visit and or depart from. You will be an active, motivated person interested in marine life, reefs, turtles, fishing, snorkeling and the ocean as well as wanting to experience life on a comfortable sailing boat. I ask you to volunteer a few hou...

I am flexible with my time (especially during the week days) and love to hang out and make new friends.. In the summer I travel around Victoria and Australia a lot, going on road trips with friends and many music festivals -camping in the bush etc.. I am into music (composing/playing); Alternative health / medicine ; Electronics / Engineering / technology ; Anything weird wacky unusual unexplained strange secret, and business combining most of the above, ;) .. The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. I am very passionate about hidden truths and wisdom and always keen to learn and share (if called for) I do not drink or smoke and i prefer vegetarian food but still i m pretty flexible.. During the warmer months me and my crew travel to various outdoor music festiva...

Hello travellers..., I'm seeking helpers who would like to stay here and help me out. Here is a very special location - very close to the coast and right beside a tall forest National Park. Many Kangaroo, Emu and Possum..., in fact all native animals are free to roam here. The help I need is....., weeding..., raking leaves, collecting bark, sticks and small branches..., because I live on the edge of a forest. I also have some paid work for qualified people. currently looking for brick layers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians with appropriate qualifications and/or skills..., also looking for a landscape gardener. Apart from the above, I need some helping hands to get my beautiful small farm in order before the fire season - this means using a whipper snipper(weed whacker), raking up cut grass and weeds - it will make compost...., picking up sticks/raking up leaves and placing into small burn piles..., also some weeding under fruit trees..., maybe with agreement, some general home...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Hi, we are Ben and Danielle. We are looking for couples or two friends to help with general household maintenance, cleaning, feeding livestock (dogs, horses, goats and chooks) and gardening / landscaping. Ben works in management and I am an Agriculture Teacher at the local high school. We are a busy family of 4 living in a large home nestled between the Blue Mountains and Wollemi National Parks. We are 15 minutes from Richmond train station and 1.5 hours from Sydney CBD. We are looking for a dynamic, self motivated couple to come and help our family. Because we are so busy we really are only looking for people who have lots of initiative and who can work independently. Your own car is not essential but would be beneficial. We would like you to become part of our family whilst you are here. That would involve spending time with our two girls, Isabelle and Mackenzie (17yrs old), helping when you see that help is needed without being asked, for example to help clean up after dinner ...

SORRY NOT TAKING ANY VISITORS AT THE MOMENT. Currently we can only take Help X Style volunteers - a few hours work for bed, meals and country experience - we are not able to sign off on 88 days at this time. My husband and I run a cropping farm in Northern NSW, growing wheat, barley, chickpeas and sorghum (milo). We have 3 sons, all away at school or college. We run a very busy farm and love to get involved in our local community. We love our coffee so we have café style coffee on farm! In our free time we enjoy water skiing, camping and exploring our local region which is great for hiking and day trips. We are located 65km from Moree (NSW), 85km to Goondiwindi (Qld). We would love to host guests who would like a crop farming experience. We offer HelpX style volunteer work for those after a short stay and to experience regional Australia (bed and food for a few hours of helping us out). Own transport is advisable but not essential. We can pick up from Moree airport and train or f...

We are a young and bubbly family which includes myself Stephanie (31) my husband Nathaniel (33) our daughter Isla (9) our sons Harrison (7), Jack (4) and Theodore (2). We also have a lot of animals on our property including dogs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, geese, so a love for animals, especially dogs as you won’t be able to avoid them in the house yard, is necessary. We live in a small country town surrounded by farms which is about 20 minutes away from the nearest city Toowoomba and about 5 minutes to the little town of Oakey. Having your own car would be ideal but when we travel into Toowoomba you are very welcome to come in with us. Our property is an ongoing project with an old Queenslander which we are renovating and also fixing fencing in paddocks when we have the time and money. If you were to stay with us, work could include general housework, gardening, cooking (someone who loves to cook is very welcome, as we love trying new foods ;)) and house renovations for up to five h...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  The yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota where we are renovating her while helping with work on Joyelle. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House this is not possiable while Joyelle is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water, The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the ho...
