This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000, and the tree crops are well maintained and productive. We have a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mud brick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. G'day. We are a family of 1 adult human, 2 kid humans, 1 old dog(rip), 4 chickens 2 little emus and hundreds of plants and animals. there's always other helpful humans around as well. We live right up in the bush in mixed tree country, mainly a mix of tea tree scrub, grass land and dry sclerophyll forest. it is managed in a variety of ways including cool burns, thinning, slashing etc. there are tracks all over to explore and a few caves to hang out in. there is a creek and a few dams. the bird life here is amazing. we are 3km from the beach. we back on to a huge reserve so no Neighbors close and plenty of bush and wildlife. We are completely off the grid and have skills and knowledge to build, tann, sew, cook, garden, hunt, butcher, preserve, fix anything mechanical, power systems, plumbing, art, story telling the list goes on. i have no gas or electric cooking. if you want a coffee we must start a fire. im very good at it and can boil the kettle quickly even in the rain. i have a wood...
