I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht. I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay. My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

Our home is a large tropical-style house located just 2km back from the beautiful Palm Cove Esplanade and beach. Our interests are people, travel, food, scuba diving, nature, music. Helpers are accommodated in large private bedroom with a private balcony, seperate court-yard. There is an ensuite bathroom and walk-in robe and the room has private access when preferred. The house has large, open spaces and a large tropical garden and creek. If you REALLY love dogs, cats and nature and are looking for a role that can lead to working your 88 days for visa sign off or a permanent paid role... We need a kind and fit person to start who would be happy to do all the jobs needed to keep our dogs healthy and happy. This includes a LOT of housekeeping, cleaning, feeding, laundry and dog washing. Your accommodation: you would share a modern two-bedroom home with our other helper (currently that’s Jordan from Germany). You would of course have dogs or cats sleeping on your bed too! This is a great experience for those who are fit and love dogs, cats, cleaning and organising and want to spend some time on a lovely property in a nice home full of dogs. Or you may want to gain the skills to volunteer at a rescue shelter, become a dog trainer, or maybe you might just want to know how to create a create a really great dog of your own. PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. We are a semi retired couple living in Horse Camp near Gin Gin in Queensland looking for helpers (single or couple) to help around the property. The property is set in a typical 25 acres native Australian bushland, large dam and a creek flowing thru the property, there is a quaint cottage that we lived in for 2 1/2years that will become your home , we now live in our new house that we built which is completely off grid, we generate our own solar power and have our own water supply. At the moment we are in the process of landscaping the surroundings and working on final details, we are looking for helpers who likes to be outdoors and challenge themselves with different chores like assisting with landscaping , gardening, painting, and sit around the fire in the evening and chill. All task performed are tailored to your personal ability. The cottage is a self-contained cabin with solar power, satellite tv, fully equipped small kitchen, bathroom/shower/toilet, gas stove, queen size bed...

My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must. There’s gardening and learning about soil health, learning how to erect barbed wire and electric fencing, animal husbandry, building, cleaning and general maintenance. There’s always something different g...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. ** we do not have capacity for guests until June 2026 *** Welcome to this very special place by the beach along the East Coast in Tasmania. We live on just over 4 acres of land and are starting to create a garden and plant more native trees on the land. Gardening and wood splitting experience would be great and an interest in community living. We are part of an online community, see my website link below, which includes a vision of lived community with values of nonviolence and liberation for all. I am also a facilitator of the Work that Reconnects, see website link below. If you have an interest in exploring how we can live on the earth more lightly and in a regenerative way, this is the place to come and explore and have those conversations. We are just starting on this journey on this land and are experimenting in what supports choice, togetherness and flow as an antidote to scarcity, separation and powerlessness. We have been hosting helpers for over 12 years, in Queensland, Victoria and now the far south coast of NSW. We have recently moved from a 600 acre wilderness retreat to a house on a headland in Tathra, a wilderness of a different kind, with the sea in all its moods, and National Parks within easy reach. The headland walking track is literally across the road, and Tathra main beach is a 20 minute walk. We offer accommodation in a cosy bedroom with its own bathroom (also household laundry). The room has a sea view, and is private from the rest of the house. We share kitchen and living spaces, and generally share our meals together. The work required is 4-5 hours work a day, helping with gardening, landscaping and occasional building. We are looking for people who want who are fit, strong and happy to work outdoors. Please bring suitable clothes, boots and hat. There may be occasional days working on our daughter's property, a simply gorgeous location in the Bega hinterland, with t...

Hi Everyone, we are a small farm with a seasonal restaurant and beautiful gardens only 40 minutes from Hobart, and operate for only 3 days a week. A good plan for us is to help us about 24 hours over 4 or 5 days and use your spare days to explore our region, which is truly amazing, I will help with transport when possible. Your Help can be in the restaurant, maybe some light chores in the garden or around the main house, things we can work out! I like to cook seafood and meat dishes, and whatever produce can sourced from the garden. Thanks for reading. I wish you well for your travels and HelpX experiences. Cheers, Mike.

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

I am interested in hearing from suitable single female helpers that are able to stay around a minimum of 3-4 weeks and can assist with care and maintenance of my sailing catamaran and home. My preference for female helpers is largely to do with the type of work you will perform and attention to detail that is required. When I have work that is better suited to males I will advertise as such….just not needed now. I have availability from mid March departing the Gold Coast from Boat works at Coomers and sailing North towards Whitsundays Currently I'm cruising and hanging around Great Keppel island and Lady Musgrave island and reef as weather permits untill I need to be on the Gold coast for mid March for a week and then we sail north to Whitsundays and further. You will be an active, motivated person interested in marine life, reefs, turtles, fishing, snorkeling and the ocean as well as wanting to experience life on a comfortable sailing boat. I ask you to volunteer a few hours...

Pen & Steve are both semi-retired and in early 70's. We live on a 360 acre farm with an English springer spaniel, lots of cows and local wild life and birds. Hi ! Great HelpX - you get the house mostly to yourself. Availability from next Thursday but possibly sooner. BRUNY ISLAND has BEACHES, FORESTS, BIRDS, NATURE, BONFIRE 🔥 and or course BBQ ! We are located at Adventure Bay on the South of the island so you need to catch a ferry. 3-4 hours work per day. Food & accommodation provided. Also Star-link WIFI It’s our holiday house. The ferries depart every 30 minutes from Kettering.

We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . I’m Darrall, a long-time design educator (https://profiles.uts.edu.au/Darrall.Thompson/about) who now maintains a quiet coastal home and garden solo.

We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. There is work removing trees, tidying up the garden and removing debris from the fires and recent storms. There is also cleaning work helping Cate with property management. During free time you are welcome to borrow our electric scooters and go swimming and exploring. We live in Mallacoota, one of Australia's most beautiful places on the southeast coast. It is a World Biosphere Reserve in the middle of the Croajingolong National Park next to the ocean with an estuarine lake system and many, many beaches. We are 2km from the town centre and 3km from the nearest beach. There are about seven magnificent beaches within 10km of us. Mallacoota is 540km from Melbourne, 630km from Sydney and 360km from Canberra with limited access via public transport so keep that in mind when planning your schedule. Our family includes M...

Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Hi ! Great HelpX - you get the house mostly to yourself. Availability from next Thursday but possibly sooner. We have availability coming up but you need a car as the property is on Bruny Island 90 minutes from Hobart - ideal for couples or friends that are practical. Easy jobs. We live & work in Hobart so we usually stay at our house in Hobart mid week Monday-Friday so that means you will be staying at the Bruny Island house alone or with the other helpers. Currently there’s none. Ideally this would suit friends or a couple. If you have any special skills like cooking, painting, etc tell me - but it’s fine if you don’t. . We have 2 bedrooms, a cabin, & 3 c...

Fun Aussie Family living near the bay. We have 2 young boys and have just added a baby girl to the mix. Life is busy but we still love getting out and about with them. We are looking forward to meeting some new people and sharing some family experiences at our beautiful local places. We like picnics up the mountain, 4WD at the beach and exploring local markets and plenty more. We live in a standard 4 bedroom/ 2 bathroom family home in the Moreton Bay area and enjoy Bbq's and small gatherings at home. The room available is a double bed in private bedroom. Deception Bay is a lovely bayside suburb and we live 1km from the waters edge where you can take easy beautiful walks. We are 15 minutes drive from the Redcliffe beaches with public transport available. Approximately 35 minutes to the Brisbane airport and 45 minutes to the Brisbane city. Would love Helpers who are keen to embrace the Aussie way of life and are happy to eat what we eat (meat, salad, vegetables, fruit, bread, pastr...
