We are a family in rural Australia who have helpers (only 1 helper at any one time) stay with us from time to time. Our experience has been that shorter stays of 2-3 weeks work best for our situation. We live on a beautiful property on the Nymboida River, a 15 minute drive from the town of Dorrigo and 40 minutes drive from Bellingen. I live in a rainforest 25km west of Coffs Harbour. It adjoins a national park and for the past 4 years, I have been slowly cleaning and regenerating the forest. This is a special place with an abundant birdlife, (a bird watchers paradise), beautiful streams of pure water and a variety of eco systems. Ideal if you want to camp here and may have a room available in main house to stay...check availability. I'm looking for a help in a number of areas that include: - Weeding - small weeds and lantana - Removal of small trees - Planting of native trees - Whipper/snipping, general land care and tidying up - Cleaning - Painting - Creating space in the forest for sit spots - Carpentry and the ability to use existing wood pile for creative seating/shelters Must have own car and preferably an AWD or 4WD, although not essential.

We are looking to host travellers from 9 to 30 July and from 16 August to 10 September to help with a range of activities on our small farm. On the property there are friendly chickens and sheep. Our vegetable patch has lots to offer in terms of fresh food and work to do to maintain. There are a variety of jobs to keep everyone occupied. Our accommodation is inside the house. We enjoy good fresh food and socialising. Our property is 5km from town which has a train station to Melbourne and we are 8km from Hanging Rock and there are bicycles available for you to ride. We will provide food and rooms for 4-5 hours of work 5 days per week. We can pick you up from the train station so you don't need a car. Non smokers preferred. Also we are moving toward zero waste so please be mindful of this in relation to using plastic. no plastic water/soft drink bottles please.
