We are currently looking for one (1) 'older' HelpX person to help now with some garden work, mainly re-establishing a veggi patch which would involve weeding, deep digging, planting and mulching and tree pruning, as well as some house cleaning. If you have experience in garden work and cleaning inside houses, we would love to hear from you! If you already have HelpX references (we prefer that!!), even better! We will usually only commit for one (1) week to start with. We are a vegetarian, non-smoking household of three friendly, mature people (1 male, 2 female) and one elderly, diabetic, cat. We live in a large old house in Highgate Hill, with wood stove and huge verandah, on a double block, 10 minutes walk to Southbank and 20 minutes walk to the CBD. All meals and comfortable accommodation in exchange for a few hours (usually 4) help each day.

Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years, we enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this ti...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. We have availability to help Marcus with his native tree propagation work onsite for one week stays. Looking for those who appreciate 4hrs of daily work alongside us as a fair exchange for wholesome meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner provided + seasonal fruit), your own private space, satellite Wi-fi and access to beautiful, private, natural surroundings with lots of native wildlife like wallabies and pademelons. In your free time, volunteers can go swimming, enjoy many of the hikes on and around our property (plus we adjoin 8,000ha/20,000ac of National Park) and meet/spend time with our animals, read , meditate, do yoga/fitness, satellite wifi, watch movies, bird watching, platypus watching...etc. We have a lot of info on our page, mainly so we get the right people applying to volunteer here. The work is usually physical (ie no cute animal feeding - that`s in your free time if you express an interest to Claire), but we offer a very fair exchange for those motivated to contribute ...

Learn about gardening, woodworking and find yourself on a journey to your soul in Macclesfield, South Australia Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly being booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2-hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, upgrading a dinghy to fit a roof and remote steering, repairs to trailer and for help with early morning gardening, housekeeing, cooking and dog walking on the beach. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops, just over 100 meters from a very quiet, sandy beach.🧜‍♂️ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weat...

Hi, I'm Steve, I am a retired old fart at 65 and live alone, except for regular travelers I host. I live close the Strand (Beach) in Townsville in a 2 bedroom unit. I can offer you a king size bed in your own room. I used to be an active couchsurfing host but have given that away as i don't like the changes they have made to the way they operate now, nor the quality of surfers. I'm pretty open minded and I don't judge people. There is no work required here, just help keep the place clean and tidy. I prefer to share the evening meals as though it is your own home. I don't operate my home as a hostel and I am used to having people in my home, and it's a fairly relaxed environment. Basically I would just like you to come into my home and be a part of it and don't shit on the floor. The last few Helpers have become flatmates after a couple of weeks. The current helper has been here for 6 months and starts travelling very soon. The one before her was here 2 years. I am looking for a suita...

CLEANING, COOKING, GARDENING, PLAYING MUSIC, are all things that I appreciate assistance with. Hi, I live in Bundaberg city 5km from the post office, and enjoy having travellers stay here in return for help around the house and yard, gardening, mowing, housekeeping/cleaning, general maintenance, etc. on my 1000 square meter block. If you have special skills tell me or if cooking is your thing then you would be especially welcome. I love all kinds of ethnic food and can be flexible as to work and leisure hours. Please message me via helpx in advance, so that I may read your completed, up to date, detailed profile. Generally, I like to have guests for two or three weeks but longer stays are also possible. Solo or couples are very welcome. Unfortunately I cannot sign for 2nd year visa. Accommodation is in spare bedroom, also includes washing, use of bicycles, and other perks in return for 2 hours per day help. Helpers are to provide or share food costs. We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

Hi there We have had many backpackers stay with us before and enjoy the new chats, music and vibes. I have stayed in hostels and backpackers here in Australia and overseas and always like to travel in WA to along the coast. Our house is walking distance from town and the beach is 200m away. It's an older house mix and match furniture, incense always burning and music playing with only 1 bathroom and 4 bedrooms with with big backyard. We have 1 cat named Sassy. The house is always tidy but by no means immaculate. There is wifi and a large bedroom that has heaps of cupboards and a desk with mirror and has a Queen bed, fan etc There is myself and my 17yr old son who live here. In return for accom and utilities etc we just ask for help and ideas with evening meals and general upkeep inside the house. A bit like a hostel feel really. The idea of this is that in the future we are considering advertising a room for rent long term and would just like to see how we go with another pers...

Like most other farms we also have chooks, horses and the usual pets like dogs, birds and cats. You're invited to join in with general farmhand tasks. This might be sheep or cattle work, helping with shearing, looking after pets and poddy lambs or calves. It maybe planting trees, painting, gardening and/or working with the hosts. The aim is for you to have an enjoyable experience. Whatever it is, you'll be appreciated and treated as a guests and as part of the family. Our focus is not on work or cheap labour but the cultural exchange and farm/country experience. Your room has its own adjoining bathroom, also internet/WiFi/mobile phone available. Grenfell is our nearest town, population 2000, situated in central west NSW about 4 hours west of Sydney. You can catch the Train/Bus, maybe visiting the Blue Mountains on the way....

Our Wildlife Park is a privately run business we’ve been building for 15 years, with our biggest growth happening just in the last two. We transformed the 40 acres land into an open-space park with a sanctuary area, fields and gardens, built largely by our own hands. Our park is home to a variety of Australian wildlife including some herd and farm animals, and is located along the famous Great Ocean Road - 15 minutes drive from the famous Twelve Apostles and on the outskirts of the beautiful Great Otway National Park. We have availability all year round with a range of projects and activities needed to be managed from animal caretaking, general park maintenance, gardening and building projects to enhance and make our park welcoming for both our animals and guests. We are looking for proactive, resilient and communal spirits who actively look for ways to help. You should be willing to get your hands dirty, show up with a good work ethics and bring a mature, responsible and honest attit...

This is an acreage property which is situated on the Gold Coast just 8 min from the Pacific Hwy, on the opposite side of Pimpama. We have a couple of rooms with a bathroom and small kitchenette in the separate part of our new house. We are surrounded by nature (a lot of wildlife and bushwalking), but still a short distance from the amazing Gold Coast beaches. We will prefer to keep our helpers for a longer period of time, preferably 2 months plus. This accommodation is best suited for a single person or couples with driving licence and a car who can help us around the house and with some landscaping jobs. Thank you

I am a wildlife carer and have fourteen wallabies in care and seven Torres Strait pigeons. We need help feeding these orphans and the other rescued and domestic animals. This includes cleaning pens, replacing pouches, washing pouches and bedding. Domestic animals include our 6 dogs, 2 horses, Peacocks, Guinea Fowl, Keats, 2 rescued pigs and chickens, ducks etc. A love for animals is a must. Also need help weeding and planting the vegetable garden. I am about to build some more enclosures. So building skills and or willingness to learn an advantage. In addition we expect help with setting the table, cleaning up after meals. Good WiFi. Not so good mobile coverage. Unless Telstra. 20 km from town so own transport an advantage. However, we can take you exploring the local area. Happy to send more information to potential helpers.

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

We (Riley, Serene and Bood) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This place is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). That said, it can get very wet in summer and early autumn; our wet season. Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, cassowary and hundreds of other bird species. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening, in the orchard and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for one or two h...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. I have sold my property and am living on a property across the road until I decide what I want to do next. I am in urgent need of some help to sort out the garden here as it has been neglected for a while and I have had an injury and can't do the things that I used to do. I am on the Sunshine Coast. 20 minutes from most places and 40 mins to the beach Permaculture and Biodynamics practiced. Compost making. Worm farms. . *Help me post a lot of surplus things I need to sell on Market Place that are left over from my old place. *Help with a garage sale once surplus stuff is sorted. * Weed over grown vegetable garden and plant food for winter. People with their own camper, also welcome as I have plenty of room. Can pick up from Cooroy. I have been a wwoofer/ helpx host since 2000 and have had great e...

I have an opening for a volunteer person to help me with everyday life of looking after animals and some gardening, weeding & basic maintenance of the farm and some house duties in COLLINSVILLE north Qld. I can only accommodate one person. This is a great opportunity to get away from the city life and enjoy some country living. I have cats horses and chooks. There will be horse riding/training that you can help me with , I do western ranch & trail training, so I prefer someone that has riding experience 😀🐎 Meals and accommodation wifi are supplied. Accommodation is a little caravan close by the house, which has a mini art gallery. ( if you like painting or doing craft we can do some painting ) Prefer 1 month stay, but shorter stays like 2 weeks are ok too. We live in a slightly isolated quiet area being 80km from the nearest big town & the coast( and the beautiful beaches of Bowen in the Whitsundays !😊) but do live in a small town where we have 2 supermarkets, post office , ha...

There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to w...

Solo or couples are very welcome. Unfortunately I cannot sign for 2nd year visa.

Hello helpers. Autumn has arrived with cool nights and sunny days. The international surf Competition is about to explode ! My beautiful garden is ready for some love and needs care - It’s ideally situated 7 minutes drive from Margaret River Township in superb wine growing and forest area but a short drive 8 minutes to Margaret River Surfers Point, Prevelly and Redgate beach Margaret River is internationally renowned for food, wine and surfing spots.

Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

The welcome rain we have had has sent the weeds crazy, not a hard job but rewarding to see the finished product. An opportunity to learn new skills to take with you on your journey. People with their own camper, also welcome as I have plenty of room. Can pick up from Cooroy. I have been a wwoofer/ helpx host since 2000 and have had great e...
