ANIMAL CARE VOLUNTEER at a sanctuary for rescued farm animals. Farm Animal Rescue is a registered charity that rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect and situations where they are in danger and provides them with a forever home. Free accommodation is provided in a shared room in our volunteer bungalow in return for three and a half days per week providing animal care. No experience is necessary, full training will be given. We reimburse food costs up to $10 a day. Minimum stay is three weeks.. Days will include dawn and dusk with breaks in between. Duties include daily cleaning of barns and coops, feeding, health checks, light maintenance work, monitoring herd movements and intensive care of ill, old and baby animals. I have a lovely natural building studio space, made of super adobe, that is used as a meditation/healing/sacred temple space, set in a lovely slightly wild permaculture garden, with a bee hive, flowers, veggies etc. The studio would be completely your own private space. I am happy to share some meditation/healing practices with you if you are interested. I would love help in the garden, with weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting and helping to make the garden creative, abundant, fertile and beautiful. I've previously been a Helpx host with my family winery and vineyard, as well as my farm property south of Adelaide. These days the winery is winding down, but in the past 18 months I've tripled the farm size to 130Ha (325ac). I'm currently growing hay and agisting sheep, with dozens of kangaroos for company. The farm is minutes from Victor Harbor (population 16,000), but the feeling is remote, as neighbouring houses can't be seen. The big projects at the moment are fencing and laying pipework for water for the sheep. There's also things like cutting firewood, machinery maintenance, road building, shed building and looking after a patch of native scrub. I have a covered orchard and the beginnings of a veggie garden, but I have no idea what I'm doing, so someone who could help with that would be much appreciated. At the moment desperately looking for someone who can weld We are a not for profit equestrian Facility working with able-bodied and disabled clients. We break and train horses for dressage, vaulting, jumping, trick riding, disabled riders, harness, mounted Police and entertainment. I am a EA coach and assessor worked and trained with horses all my life. The riding Centre is my peaceful place. We need people that can take a joke or two or maybe three. We need someone that can help with the general farm work, feeding Horses and if they’re exceptional rider help train the horses. For others there is always a chance to ride school Horses.
