Update: In winter I don't work festivals, after all, there are non. I do markets sometimes and get around in Holland for those who like to travel. But mostly I like to have someone in the house to help me in the house and with the pets for longer time. All kind of jobs. Handyman, tidy up, bringing stuff to the dump places, cleaning, taking care of animals , shortly getting the house ready for the next festivalseason. Furthermore I 'm looking for a housesitter /petsitter when we are out for a couple of weeks. I work festivals/markets around in Holland and I need people for stay at home with the little herd of chickens/rabbits/cat/dog/fishes and take care of the house and sometimes keep an eye on my son for when I'm out mostly in the weekends..In the festivalseason I can take you to festivals. Update: Right now it's the end of festivalseason so I can't take you there but many times I go to other markets all around Holland so you can go on daytrips while I'm working in the cities like...

In our homey Rotterdam Hostel filled with cool grandmas stuff, we offer travellers a place to meet. The Hostel is just steps away from an interesting array of cafés, museums, shops, bars, music venues, attractions and don't forget Central Station around the corner! We offer 8 rooms with 54 beds, and a free breakfast from 8 am till 11 am. Cook your own meal in our guest kitchen, and eat and talk while sitting at the long kitchen table, or in our garden. Get together in the living room. Connect with the outside world through our wifi. And most of all feel at home! We are one big family here! We have a mixed team from across the world, full-time time or volunteers everyone makes a big part of it. We think the role of volunteers is really important because it gives the homely vibe of the hostel. Those who are here a little longer take the new under their wings, and show them the gems of this city. Our hostel being one of them.

Works to be done, mainly gardening, some DIY, some sewing, some artistic or creative projects. Will be hosting when temperature is rising again (spring) due to very slow renovation of the part where helpers sleep indoors…. So I hope you like camping! In mid 2014 I bought a terrific place from the family only 10km away from Eindhoven in the midst of a village. This place is gonna be a beautiful place where people can take indoor and outdoor yoga lessons overlooking the fields. There's gonna be a garden for fruits and vegetables and herbs, a small campground for a couple of tents and two bedrooms for people who wanna sleep indoors. But before this is reality, a lot of work needs to be done! Ooh and I got a new plan, a nice wooden house in the midst of the garden... And due to technical problems I switched to another site since 2017… and hosted another 200 work awayhands from all over. But I was curious again to this site now it looks improved. But can’t host this winter due to ren...

Dear traveler/wanderer/adventure-seeker, - At the moment we're don't host:) as we are in (admin) hibernation and will be travelling ourselves: our door is open from beginning May 2025 again (I probably start replying to massages from mid April again) - I'm Nina, a multi-disciplinary community artist, 34 years old and I live in a four-room apartment in Amsterdam together with Michal, a Polish book-maker artist. We create all sorts of things, but mostly in the realm of community, textiles, paper, environment and writing... At the moment I work with natural dyes and prints with plants from dye garden at a community art space (across from my house) where I have my studio. The garden functions as a community art project and I facilitate workshops and community events till the 10th of November 2024. Next to this I'm renovating a garden house. Where I'm planning to organise poetry events, rituals and campfire sessions (next year summer). Anyhow, there is lots to do and I can definitely ...

Horse stable and B&B in Zeeland (The Netherlands) Would you like to visit the beautiful Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in a rural spot close to the coast and work with horses? That is possible in our bed and breakfast near the picturesque village of Groede. The B&B is located between the meadows at 4km from the beach. Our Bed and breakfast was the first B&B in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. It was founded in the early 1990's. Since 2017 we, Antje and Frank, have been running this place. Besides renting out rooms to guests, we also breed Spanish horses and provide guided horseback tours to the beach. At this moment we have a total of 21 horses. Which takes a lot of work. ;-) We are looking for one or two helpers to support us in the daily activities such as feeding the horses, cleaning and maintaining the stables and meadows, maintaining the house and the garden and sometimes cleaning the B&B rooms. You will sleep in one of our guest rooms with a private bathroom. In return, we expect you to help an average...

Hello helpers, at the moment we need experienced helpers. A female helper or a couple with gardening experience!! Families are welcome too. We are a care farm and work with disabled people. Because we work with children it is the law in The Netherlands that every adult (18+) should have a statement of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag/Verhaltenserklärung/déclaration de comportement) If you do not have that paper you can only stay for 2 weeks. We have a nature playground and a little animal farm with 4 donkey's, rabbits, sheep, chickens and geese, 3 pigs, 4 cats and our one year old border collie Tess. We have an atelier with pottery and for other creative activity's. We need enthusiastic and flexible people that can help us with gardening, painting, taking care of the animals and cleaning. Volunteer guests will sleep in our guesthouse or in one of the other bedrooms or in spring 2025 in de pipowagen. If we have visitors in a weekend you will have to sleep in our primitive spare room f...

Looking for a helper. Since 2008 we have been living on this farmhouse. We have a big garden and a vegetable garden with a greenhouse. In the summer we usually need some help with our (vegetable) garden. We usually also need some help renovating things in and around the house. Activities for the garden will be mostly weeding, planting and cleaning things. Some rooms in the house still need some renovating and the activities can be all sort of little things like carpentry and painting. Working hours will be 4 hours in consultation a day for 5 days a week. If it is possible we can take you to a bus-stop or a nearby city on your days off. We live in a small typical Frisian village of around 1000 people. The nearest shops and swimming pool/gym are 2 km from our house. We have a bike available to take some cycling tours around the area or to get to the bus or the supermarket. The area around the village is suitable for walking and cycling (many routes)! Our house is situated dire...

Hello Helpers, I have a tiny house (28m2) with a kitchen and shower (powered by gas bottles) located at a social community garden in Amsterdam. This unique spot offers a blend of urban agriculture, recreational space, and community bonding. It is managed by local residents and volunteer community groups, providing a green oasis amidst the city's dense urban landscape. For July and August, I will be visiting family in Canada and need HelpX'ers to look after the tiny house. The role involves construction and gardening tasks in my absence. No community work is necessary unless you're interested; the main tasks include the upkeep of my garden (200m2) and the house. It's essential that you have solid experience in construction and gardening, are resourceful, and possess knowledge, skills, creativity, and a love for nature. Unfortunately, I've had experiences with well-intentioned individuals who ended up doing more harm than good with their makeshift solutions. The chores include painti...

Hello ;-) HELPERS AGAIN WELCOME IN MAY/JUNE/JULY/AUGUST/SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER THIS YEAR! We really need someone who can help us with finishing the electricity stuff this year! Do you like to join us? That might be great! Do you like to help us laying a nice wooden floor or painting an old ceiling? Or may be you like to make Hobbit-like fairytale curtains? Feel very welcome to join us ;-) We live on our farm with 3 horses, 12 goats, 20 chicken, 12 cats. We like to live in harmony with Mother Nature and we love animals. And if you ask me, what is life like? I might say: "Our farm is something like a little bit of chaos, a lot of fun and always a good time! ":-) Nearby you can swim in the river and a little hidden lake if you like. We've also got bikes you may use. We are inspired by Permaculture and like to learn more about it ;-) At this moment we are building a meditation roo...

OUR PROJECT. We are a family of three (mother with adult daughter and son) renovating a 170 year old traditional Dutch farmhouse (stolp). We really fell in love with the house, which is at the end of a road and in the middle of the fields with peace and quiet and privacy all around. It's one of the few places in Holland where you can still see a lot of stars at night! After buying the house we discovered there were a lot more problems than we were initially aware of: we have repaired the leaky roof and cleared up tons of junk. Now we are working on the rotten floors and windows and crumbling walls, and want to make some bedrooms in the attic. We have a little vegetable garden and some happy chickens who run provide us with eggs every day. At the weekends we are all at home, but during the week we are often away at work. That means we need you to be trustworthy and to be able to work independently. It also means there are days when you get to enjoy our beautiful house all on your ow...

Dear Helpers, We are Jaïrus and Natasja, a young enthusiastic vegetarian couple. In this year, 2023 we are in the middle of realising our dream: building a ecological house in Drenthe, the beautiful North East part of the Netherlands. For years it has been our dream to build a house from natural materials. Now we will realise this house from wood, strawbales and cob from our own ground! At this moment the building of the shed is finished. Thanks to so much help from volunteers! It is very beautifull now, and a nice place to sleep too! The house really looks like a house now. We build a wooden frame and insulated it with strawbales, all with lots of help of volunteers and family and friends! From the outside the house needs another layer of plaster, some paint, a green roof and some more details. After finishing some gardening we will move inside the house to install electricity, some more technics. But also build inside walls, place wooden sheeds. Do some more ecological insulation i...

Our organic farm with 250 milk sheep is on the island Terschelling, in the north of the Netherlands. We make cheese, ice cream and cosmetics. We have a farmshop and tents for rent. We would like some help with all the aspects of our farm; milking, feeding the sheep, construction work, cheese work, mowing etc. We make long days but we live nearby the beach, there is a hottub and a pizza-oven. You will stay in a private room in a separate house next to the farm with other interns and volunteers. Minimum stay is 4 weeks.

** currently looking for helpers in week 9, 10 and/or 11** Hi travellers! We are looking for some helpers around the farm. We have a breeding facility for horses and normally around 20 horses. We are looking for someone to help us out with day-to-day work. Your main job will be mucking the paddocks, which is a daily job. It takes about 2-3 hours a day when all the horses are in paddocks. Next to the mucking we ask help with occasionally feeding the horses, fixing fences, property maintenance, painting, gardening and wood chopping (with a machine ;-)). Please keep in mind that most of the work is physical work, and most of it is done outside, no matter the weather ;-) If you are experienced with horses, we are more than happy to teach you about our ways of training, and about gaited horses. We hope to go on holiday the second half of september, it would be great to find a helper who is up for taking care of our farm when we are away. If you want this, your stay should be at least 3 ...

Hello! We offer TWO placements. 1.Placement ONE - in NGO We are an NGO organizing study programs for young people from abroad. We have a house in Amsterdam where participants of the programs stay during the courses. We invite helpers to stay with us! We will ask you to help around house - cleaning, gardening, some renovations around the house. No any special skills are needed but if you are experienced with renovations and could offer help with more difficult tasks in that area - that would be great! Also we organise study programs and would use help in that field - are you good with writing texts, working with social media, preparing study programs or can help with other related tasks - we might need it as well! You will stay in a house in the residential area. In 7-10 minutes walk you have a metro station, supermarkets, other types of shops. If you travel by car - you can park your car for free in front of the house. In general the parking in Amsterdam is very expensive, however, ...

Our house, which used to be an old barn, burned down in 2015. We are now rebuilding it completely by hand and converting the ruins into four zero-energy houses. We are therefore looking for volunteers with experience or an interest in construction between April and November. You will stay in the house next door, which is fully furnished and comfortable, and we will provide food, though you will do your own cooking. You will be required to do four to five hours of work per (week-)day. Our place is uniquely situated on a canal that runs between the lively cities of Delft and Rotterdam. The tiny, friendly village of around 100 inhabitants is surrounded by meadows and the area is ideal for cycling. There are no shops, but there is an hourly bus to Rotterdam and Delft (ca. 15 minutes) and you can borrow our bicycles and canoe/boat. PLEASE NOTE that we will only respond to volunteers who have actually read this text. Only too often do we receive messages from people who are clearly ...

This is a historic farmhouse in the middle of a N2000 nature conservancy area. It's situated on the border of the Brabant sands and Zeeland (clay). We are not farming here (Except 20 sheep, 10 chickens, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 3 Kune kune pigs…) In its vicinity is the historic city of Bergen op Zoom. Antwerp is at 36km and Rotterdam at 65 (by car). On the yard is a little building which in former times was used for baking bread. Nowadays it has a little living and an attic with two single beds. This can be your place during your stay. Things to be done: there’s always a lot to be done in the yard. E.g. clearing the space with the brushcutter. Working on the hedges. Housecleaning jobs. Helping whenever we have guests. Maybe guiding excursion groups, BBQing, selling drinks, being host.

It is a non-commercial Permaculture vegggie garden just for our own food (organisation, volunteers & visitors), a food forest for fruit, nuts & nature and a basecamp for the other nature projects the Medume Foundation supports. In 2018 we will have 4 Yurts in total: 1 collective 6,5 meter Yurt for shelter/ storing/ instruction/ dinner/ collective use, 2 Yurts for helpers/ visitors (singles/ couples or groups) and a Yurt for my own and 4 dome spare tents primary to sleep (single helpers/ single visitors) and we have bicycles for transport. The basic work: 1 - Growing herbs, veggies, fruits & nuts for our own use & visitors on our own veggie garden an do wild picking in the surrounding area. 2 - General cleaning of the area from weeds, branches & dirt. 3 - Improving the area: doing repair works, doing small projects, making an biodigester for gas & enviroment, a helophyte filter for the enviroment, a n...

For five years now me and my dog Loes are living on this property that we've squatted in such a way that the owner now likes us to be here. Its a former sanitorium complex which has burned down almost completely except for the directors villa wich we (with help of many) are turning over into an sustainable self-sufficient guesthouse. Practising permaculture, we aim to be sustainable by running the property off renewable energy sources, harvesting rain water for use with utilities and establishing an organic garden and art space.Al help is welcome, there's so much to do so you can do what you think would be beneficial or whatever you feel you can add. or whatever you wish to learn from my obtained skills thruout the years. Main goal is for all of us to enjoy ourselves and each other. Take care and enjoy ! JJ.

Update: Right now it's the end of festivalseason so I can't take you there but many times I go to other markets all around Holland so you can go on daytrips while I'm working in the cities like...

JJ.
