Hello! Update 4th July. Have guests for next week or so (to confirm soon). I'm looking for help with a sewing project to sew 3 queen size duvets and pillow cases (material from a trip to Japan), and / or some gardening help. Thanks for your interest if you've had a look at this profile. A quick mention a stay suits people who like cats 🐈‍⬛ and 🐕 dogs. I also kindly ask not to vape or smoke inside the house or bedroom 🏠 . Welcome to do so outside. Thanks! About the stay: A large section in the suburbs with a small established native forest and a plethora of native birds and birdsong.  As you arrive it will look like you are in suburbia but the property backs onto a small forest which is peaceful and green!  There is a great forest walk close by. The train and mall are 20 mins walk away and the bus to the city stops at the top of the street. Piha is a short 20 min drive over the Waitakere Mountains. For those without a car - I can drop to the city or pick up around my wor...

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru and from my kitchen window or climbing up the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Five years of my absence have caused damages to house and garden physically and spiritually. In the effort to restore the above, I re-discovered HelpX for finding spirited support for all sorts of quirky and needed manifestations of beautiful visible and touchable things. Despite the incomplete, overgrown outside, with my freshly painted double bed guest room and a completely renovated lounge, I am happy to open my home again for s...

Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. We have good beaches and nice walks. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village. Check out our website if you need public transport. https://cairnhill.nz/read-this.shtml and you can email us anytime for help. GENERAL INFORMATION We grow most of our own vegetables. We make compost and use animal manures as fertilisers. With winter we action a great progressive project to plant and regenerate areas with hundreds of native trees. IMPORTANT! WE'RE UNABLE TO HOST YOU BEFORE LATER IN JULY. PLEASE DON'T MESSAGE US BEFORE JULY 13 AS WE MAY BE OUT OF RANGE AND UNABLE TO REPLY.. This is ideal for people who would enjoy the social and cultural buzz of the city within easy walking distance, while also being close to two charming harbour beaches and some great walks. It’s a good arrangement for you if you value your own private space whenever you want it, but also enjoy a stimulating environment. Our comfortable inner city 116 year old Victorian villa is a two minute walk to Ponsonby Road. Accommodation is self-contained, and our HelpXers have invariably found it to be an ideal arrangement (see guest room photos). You have your own separate entrance, private garden balcony, generous double bed, kitchenette with microwave, ,hot plate, toaster and small fridge, dining table/desk, laundry machine and ensuite bathroom/toilet. Free wi-fi (within reason!) Because we’re on an unusually wide section for a city house, we...

Kia ora travelers! My whare (home) is in the middle of beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and organic gardens. We build this eco-earth house using local clay (adobe in-situ), green roofs, and help from volunteers. I did a lot of 'woofing' with my young family, before settling in the Far North. My land used to be a paddock, and now has mature fruit trees and forest. It is very quiet here, perfect to enjoy nature and country living. The closest shop, the famous "Bush Fairy Dairy", is 7 km away, Taipa Beach 20 km, and Auckland 350 km. If you have no car, I can pick you up from the bus station in Taipa. I am part of the local landcare trust. We protect native forest, birds, lizards and insects. We trap predators and pull out invasive weeds. I need help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, cho...

** We are currently both in Wellington for work, but will be home at the cabin from November 2025, so can host people again then onwards ** As friends, Annelise & Tom co-bought a 30-acre section of native forest at the top of the Omoto valley, with the intention of creating a space where ourselves, friends, and family can freely use and feel at home. From the road end, it’s a 5-minute walk along a graveled path to reach our land, which creates the feeling of being isolated from civilisation, despite not actually being far away. We have two small cabins sited there, up on an old river terrace, under a canopy of rata and rimu trees, with a view out to the east across the valley. We have built /renovated both cabins ourselves using mostly recycled materials, with plenty of visible timber and we have certainly cut no corners on finishing touches. There is no road noise at the cabins, and we have no utility services connected, so it feels nicely remote and is pretty simple living. Since...

We are a Farm Animal Sanctuary based in the beautiful Cardrona Valley, situated 15 minutes from the popular tourist destination Wanaka and 40 minutes from Queenstown. We are based 25 minutes from the Cardrona Ski Resort. During your volunteering day here, you will interact with many farm animals and help out with daily farm chores and our continuing on farm revegetation project. Daily tasks vary but can include paddock grooming, brushing the donkeys and horses, walking pony’s and donkeys for extra exercise, helping out with feeding and some cleaning. We also do planting and potting up of the tree seedlings we grow on the farm, plant out trees, maintain plantings, and prepare new sites for planting. We offer free accommodation for 4 hours of morning work daily. The accomodation is a small but cosy two bed cabin and a queen bed cabin is available also. PLEASE READ description AND PLEASE IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU READ PLEASE PLEASE DON'T apply to come just for the fun and adventures with other Travellers as I feel sad when you let me down, which automatically lets the other volunteers down . We / You all need to share the workload and leave things as you find them by having / showing respect for each other. Leave everything you touch as you find and if someone does leave a mess either let them know or please just clean up and let them all know you have done so as I always check first thing most mornings and then I take a video for Group Chat. So its nice to wake up to big aTHANK you rather than a reminder to clean up .. Remember RATS mice love left overs at night time. We have a Native TREE Field and we have planted many Natives for a future walk for the PUBLIC (already being used) so you MUST enjoy looking after the little trees which means a lot of weeding (called releasing) and maintenance & planting when your not helping ...

Hi, This is a small farm property (sheep, a cat and orchard) just of state highway 2 within walking distance of Morere hot springs reserve and about 20 minutes drive to the beaches of the mahia peninsula. The bus between wellington and Gisborne stops here twice a day walking distance from Possum bend. Helpers work about 4 hours a day.At the moment, I have some gardening and housework to do. Also, if you like cooking, i enjoy trying new recipes/meals etc (This is not a commercial property so, generally, surfing takes priority over working if the surf is good). I prefer easy going people with a good sense of humour who are adventurous. I especially enjoy meeting people who have traveled or come from places I have not visited and hearing about their experiences. Morere is a quiet spot so if you are a city person it won't be suitable for you. I also have a neighbour, Amber, with a property very similar to mine ( actually much more beautiful) who can use some help . You can contact her...

We are an organically based beekeeping and honey processing company adhering to Rudolf Steiner principles of natural living. Processing our own product allows us to supply an unheated product, ensuring an undamaged enzyme count with botanicals and a complex flavour to the pallet. The volunteer work will involve a variety of cleaning up hive gear, helping to jar and process honey, labelling, making beeswax candles, propolis creams, preparing the bee gear, building and (in the right season) visiting the hives. Our work exchange is 24 hours a week for full board and 3 healthy meals a day. We have a vegetable garden that you can harvest from for meals. Very relaxed and easy going environment/people, great food and good company. Only a short bus or car ride into town, not too far to bike but probably a little too far to walk. We have 4 bicycles available to use. Around the Hawkes Bay are 168km of bike trails, many right along the beautiful coastline. We prefer couples, because we have 3...

Greetings, I am a hardworking kiwi farmer who has 2 farms in different parts of nz If you are self motivated, willing to learn, are able to contribute to a working environment and possibly teach me a few things along the way, then we will probably connect. we work 5 hours per day or 25 hours per week. Those or shorter than 7 day stays are required to work 5 hours per day eg a three day stay equals 15 hour due to a couple of negative ,false and derogatory feedbacks after hosting hundeds of volunteers from 19 countries on various platforms i need to clarify a few key things about staying on my farm.the review from anais and benoit is so longwinded and false ,about as much verbal diahorrea from benoit in 2 days as his wife on a type writer. there are very few rules in my house ,i am not a control freak. 1.food is not rationed,i feed guests well, grow ,hunt ,fish and dive for my food mostly. 2.my house is an english speaking house ,if you think it is not rude to speak in your native languag...

*volunteer on a Regenerative Farm: Help us care for our Ecosystem / Farm in Hunterville, New Zealand* We are a regenerative beef and sheep farm in Hunterville, New Zealand, with seven generations of farming experience. This winter, we planted 25,000 trees that now need some love and care. Of these, 12,000 are various types of poplars for erosion control and stream bank protection. The remaining trees are native species and manuka, planted for regeneration. We are looking for volunteers to help care for these trees and ensure their survival. Additionally, there will be general farm tasks to assist with, and if you have any building or carpentry skills, that would be a wonderful bonus! The primary focus will be tree care, but we need flexible individuals who are open to taking on a variety of roles on our busy 1,600-hectare sheep and cattle property, which also includes a tourism lodge. If you have a passion for farming, conservation, tree care, building, or hospitality, this is the...

Kia Ora, We are a family of 3. Rich is a chef, Helen is a nurse & our son is 14. Our dog ‘T-Rex’ is a 8 year old Labrador. We have a Giant Flemish rabbit ‘Flax’ and 6 beautiful chickens. We have hosted Help X volunteers many times in the past, but we closed our account down at the start of the pandemic & lost our reviews. Our past Help X crew helped us set up our current Air BnB, and came from all around the globe. The space you’ll live in during this winter period is our precious ‘Superhost/guests favourite’ Air BnB space. We are quieter in winter so will work HelpX in around our Air BnB bookings. We’re a busy whānau/family with lots going on in our whare/home. We’re in a residential area, 7kms out of Rotorua central. We’re looking for 1 person or a couple to help with a number of things, mainly gardening/weeding and painting outside - current paint job is the outside of the guesthouse . If you are an artist, we may be interested in a mural painting on our fence or garage door. ...

We run a tourist accommodation business with a difference. We are situated on the banks of the Whanganui River, surrounded by the Whanganui National Park, however the only access to our property is via boat or, the more popular option, by aerial cable car (the flying fox). We are located 45km from Whanganui township with road access to the cable way via a beautiful scenic 45 min drive. Due to the rural location own transport is preferred as this will also enable you to explore the local area during time off. We have various accommodation options including camping, glamping and self contained cottages. We also provide catering for some guests. Our accommodation is unique in that it is all built from reclaimed materials and therefore is rustic and quirky! We are off-grid for everything except electricity and have no cell phone access although we do have internet available. We have large gardens and orchards and, whilst not currently certified organic, we work on organic and permacultu...

Hi team, looking for helpers from mid May to July for 2-3 weeks. We are looking for one or two volunteers who are physically fit, adaptable, willing to learn new things, and enthusiastic to spend a lot of time outdoors! Autumn is a busy time on the farm! Especially for planting trees. This is an opportunity to experience life on a sheep and cattle farm. Volunteers depending on season can help with different farm activities such as, fencing, building, working with sheep and cattle in the yards, pruning/planting trees on the farm, gardening, help with daily chores around the home. You do not have to be an expert at these things, just willing to learn and join us in our daily tasks and enjoy the outdoors. Also If anyone is experienced with young ponies then we are also interested in hearing from you. We have a Dartmoor pony stud on the farm. This particular activity is suitable for those with experience. We live on a large working sheep and beef farm near Waipukurau. Food and lodg...

Hi there 😊 We are, Deb and Mark, Noah (21yrs) and 15 year old Grace. We also have another young adult son (Caleb 23yrs) who no longer lives here, but pops in regularly. Mark is a production manager at Air New Zealand and I home school Grace (formally a mental health nurse and volunteer coordinator for the local food bank). We live on 17 acres of land with cows, sheep, chickens, a rabbit, a budgie, two cats (Squeak and Sophie) Wilson the dog and three horses called Kalia, Frosty, and Jed. Accommodation is in your own warm and cosy cabin with a bathroom, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster (just a few metres from the house). Lots of lovely walks nearby. All meals provided (healthy, tasty and nutritious) and in exchange, we'd like some help with gardening and perhaps a bit of painting and cleaning (4 hours per day, and the day off on Sundays 🙂) The town centre has a library, large supermarket, farmer's market, banks, post office, pharmacy, gift shops and cafes and bars etc. Bi...

We live in a tiny town in the Far North of New Zealand and are very involved in our local community. We have travelled extensively ourselves and love meeting new people. We need help with mostly with gardening tasks and few indoor jobs. Our interests are cooking, travelling, sailing, making music, family, and community development. We live on a quarter acre section overlooking a harbour. We have two vegetable gardens and 23 fruit trees. Our town is in a predominantly Maori part of NZ. There is a small local store and two cafes. Nearby is the stunning wild West Coast of Northland. We have five adult children scattered around the world and two informally adopted local grandchildren. David is a former counsellor, and I was an arts business tutor at polytecs and a university. I now volunteer doing strategic planning and funding applications with a local community education trust.

Jan & Marian, a Dutch couple in their 60sh, opened their (first and still only in NZ) Green-Care-Farm for day visitors living with mild dementia. Both of them are having a nursing background. They offer people living with with mild dementia happy days by using their long learned life skills to feel included and valued and respected. They are part of the Home4All family and together they 'work' in the garden or the workshop or the kitchen or looking after the animals. Therefore their family and carers can have a good time-out-day with peace of mind. We are a registered charity which is currently functioning with the help of a committed team of volunteers and a superb supportive board. They always need help with gardening and maintenance and animal care. If you have special great skills in IT, film making / photography or else we might like to use your skills. HelpX volunteers are not responsible for the support of our day visitors but basically they are there for Jan and Marian to t...

Small Farm Animal Sanctuary, 50 KM South of Dunedin, 6km away from Milton. There are pigs, pony, sheep, chickens, turkey, dogs and cats. Also, a large garden, a few paddocks, all surrounded by farmlands. Very rural NZ. Large original Victorian farmhouse and grounds. I work full time and need people to be here for animals throughout the day. My partner is home most of the time and he focuses on the dog and cat care and outside job arrangements. After fully catered hosting for over 10 years, via many volunteer platforms we are now only offering room only arrangements. The work is much reduced these days as the house and garden are set up and there are less animals. We can no longer justify the time and expenses of full feeding of volunteers. We need to focus on the needs of ageing animals! Hot drinks and home baking available though. Therefore, this is a place for those who genuinely want to be with happy rescue animals in a beautiful peaceful environment. You will have a nicely set up...

LOOKING CURRENTLY FOR ONE OR TWO PEOPLE FOR 5 NIGHTS BEFORE THE END OF APRIL. I always enjoy welcoming fellow travellers. In 2023 I was a HelpXer myself in Europe. Now I am back at my home by the sea and looking for support with my home and garden and have already this year enjoyed hosting a range of volunteers. Helpers enjoy the location and the sea views, as well as the 2 minute walk down through the garden to a sandy beach for a swim. A short beach walk (or 2 min drive) takes you to Paihia wharf, shops, cafes and the Russell ferry, while a 1 hr coastal walk leads to the port of Opua. Intercity buses arrive in Paihia - just a few minutes away - pick up no problem. Come for 4-5 days or longer. I offer your own comfortable room, unlimited WiFi, and breakfast, lunch and dinner in return for 4 hours work a day (or do longer days with more hours then take full days off for sightseeing). After six days, your seventh day is free for you to enjoy. I'm a passionate advocate for a n...

Overview: We are a Tibetan Buddhist Centre that welcomes HelpX volunteers interested in learning more about meditation, Buddhism and the spiritual life. Jobs are mainly cleaning, gardening and grounds work. We offer accommodation usually in our dorm and free attendance at classes & meditations. Volunteers are responsible for their own food - but are welcome to also use the veggies in the veggie garden (seasonal). We are a Registered Charitable Trust and rely on volunteers and donations. We do not have a large budget and are unable to provide food money to short-term volunteers. This is really a place for those that wish to learn more about Buddhism, live in our community and offer service for a short period (1 - 3 weeks). Living at a Buddhist Centre we ask you to respect the Lay Buddhist Precepts during your stay (ex. no killing, no lying, no stealing, no taking intoxicants, etc.) and be respectful of Centre residents. 4 good hours of work per day, 2 days off per week. Length of sta...

Here is a little bit of background about me and the business: I have been around horses from the age of about 6 so have over 40 years worth of experience with them and have combined some of what I learnt in the early days (through the traditional English method) with all I have picked up from the Natural style which I have been learning for over 20 years. In 2010 I set up my own business using Natural Horsemanship to train horses and teach people how to be with our equine friends. I have a base close to Christchurch and a small team of horses/ponies which are available for people to use who don’t have access to their own. I am also available for those with their own horses to teach/train either at their own paddock or back at my base. I offer a variety of services from breaking in or starting horses through to basic pony rides, lessons, school holiday programmes and more. I have a passion for this style of being with these amazing creatures and love to share what I have learnt wit...

Autumn 25 Thank you for your interest. We are a small family with 2 young school aged children 11 and 12yrs. We have been here on the vineyard for 7 years. This is our primary focus. We are growing a small orchard, our own vegetables and have lots of gardens and lawns to mow! We have olive trees, and 2 cats and dogs. We try to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible My husband and I both have experience in Biodynamic farming at previous work-place employment's. My husband and I did all the work that we could on the vineyard in the first 2 years and then we realised that we weren't having any fun with our children. We joined HELPX 4 summers ago and have had such a good experience with helpers. We are still in touch with some of them since they have returned home. We think it is great for our children to experience different people and cultures. There are other jobs like firewood, and gardening tidy-up jobs that I don't get around to doing myself! My husband mana...

*A bit about the SLC:* Our vision is a world where communities of people are deeply connected to nature and each other, life is sustainable, and food is healthy. We promote regenerative organic practices and sustainable living, though sharing and knowledge and resources and providing facilities for community connection. The Sustainable Living Centre works to create a local food hub, regenerative market garden, garden allotments, supply garden resources, offers education programmes and info hub, community events, venue hire, pop up cafes, volunteer opportunities, and aim to support community enterprises. We lease over one hectare of Maori freehold land, owned by its customary owners. It is part of a larger original papakainga, which encompassed the Tākaka area. We live on the shore of the beautiful tidal Waimea Inlet, near Māpua Village. The estuary is home to many wading birds. For the past 22 years we have been working on restoring the coastal habitat for wading birds, and restoring the adjoining coastal forest. Autumn/Winter work is planting and weeding. Spring/Summer it is weeding the coastal plantings and some vegetable gardening . volunteers cook their own meals, we provide all food. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for exploring the estuary at high tide.

Check out our website if you need public transport. https://cairnhill.nz/read-this.shtml and you can email us anytime for help. GENERAL INFORMATION We grow most of our own vegetables.

** Quiet at this time but some misc jobs for a a week or so for 1-2 helpers *** Hi there! We have a large modern house 70m from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment. Our kiwi family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers/interns) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand. As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3-4 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax. Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit your talents. You will get inv...

You will provide and cook your own food but are welcome to join our shared lunch which is provided on work days. We look forward to ho...
