Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru and from my kitchen window or climbing up the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. After five years of absence house and gardens have been badly damaged physically and spiritually. In the effort to restore the above, I re-discovered HelpX for finding spirited support for all sorts of quirky manifestations of visible and touchable things. In my role as your host, I am fully committed to provide three basic meals per day, to be fully there when our agreed upon four hours of work start and to offer you some nice and clean room to stay. With my double bed guest room created to a comfortable Kiwi standard and a renovated lounge fit for more than two friends, a family or a yoga space, I am happy to open my home again for...

Come experience the stunning views of Te Mata overlooking Whangarei Harbour and Bream Bay. We are looking for helpX volunteers for one or more weeks in exchange for accommodation in a spacious room in the main house, 3 delicious meals a day, and, of course, a great time. Alcohol is available at cost. If we click, long-term stays (until late May 2024) are preferred, just like several of our previous helpers who stayed with us for more than five months! It's an oasis of 50% native bush, rest paddocks and subtropical orchards: 60% bananas and a canopy of schizolobium, cherimoyas, papayas, mango, feijoa, and temperate fruits. Not to forget the SACRED GROVE where we worship our devoted 🕉️Religion here: Rave till sunrise PLUR Congregations🥳. If you're arriving by public transport, we can arrange a pickup in Whangarei. Overview: We are a Tibetan Buddhist Centre that welcomes HelpX volunteers interested in learning more about meditation, Buddhism and the spiritual life. Jobs are mainly cleaning, gardening and grounds work. We offer accommodation usually in our dorm and free attendance at regular classes & meditations. Volunteers are responsible for their own food - but are welcome to also use the veggies in the veggie garden (seasonal). We are a Registered Charitable Trust and rely on volunteers and donations. We do not have a large budget and are unable to provide food money to short-term volunteers. This is really a place for those that wish to learn more about Buddhism, live in our community and offer service for a short period (1 - 3 weeks). Living at a Buddhist Centre we ask you to respect the Lay Buddhist Precepts during your stay (ex. no killing, no lying, no stealing, no taking intoxicants, etc.) and be respectful of Centre residents. 4 good hours of work per day, 2 days off per week. Lengt...

Jan & Marian, a Dutch couple in their 60sh, opened their (first and still only in NZ) Green-Care-Farm for day visitors living with mild dementia. Both of them are having a nursing background. They offer people living with with mild dementia happy days by using their long learned life skills to feel included and valued and respected. They are part of the Home4All family and together they 'work' in the garden or the workshop or the kitchen or looking after the animals. Therefore their family and carers can have a good time-out-day with peace of mind. We are a registered charity which is currently functioning with the help of a committed team of volunteers and a superb supportive board. They always need help with gardening and maintenance and animal care. If you have special great skills in IT, film making / photography or else we might like to use your skills. HelpX volunteers are not responsible for the support of our day visitors but basically they are there for Jan and Marian to t...

Hi, This is a small farm property (sheep, ducks, a cat and orchard) just of state highway 2 within walking distance of Morere hot springs reserve and about 20 minutes drive to the beaches of the mahia peninsula. The bus between wellington and Gisborne stops here twice a day walking distance from Possum bend. Helpers work about 4 hours a day.At the moment, I have some gardening and housework to do. Also, if you like cooking, i enjoy trying new recipes/meals etc (This is not a commercial property so, generally, surfing takes priority over working if the surf is good). I prefer easy going people with a good sense of humour who are adventurous. I especially enjoy meeting people who have traveled or come from places I have not visited and hearing about their experiences. Morere is a quiet spot so may not be suitable for a young person who likes a lot of company their own age. I also have neighbours, a really nice couple in their thirties, with a property very similar to mine who can u...

I look forward to welcoming fellow travellers. Last year I was a HelpXer myself in Europe. Now I am back at my home by the sea and looking for support with my home and garden and have already this year enjoyed hosting a range of HelpXers and Workawayers. Helpers enjoy the location and the sea views, as well as the 2 minute walk down through the garden to a sandy beach for a swim. A short beach walk (or 2 min drive) takes you to Paihia wharf, shops, cafes and the Russell ferry, while a 1 hr coastal walk leads to the port of Opua. Intercity buses arrive in Paihia - just a few minutes away - pick up no problem. Come for 4-5 days or longer. I offer your own comfortable room, unlimited WiFi, and breakfast, lunch and dinner in return for 4 hours work a day (or do longer days with more hours then take full days off for sightseeing). After six days, your seventh day is free for you to enjoy. I'm a passionate advocate for a nonviolent lifestyle. I attempt (not always successfully) t...

**I'm not available to host you at the moment. Thanks** Hi there and welcome to New Zealand. We'll usually be working in the garden, including weeding, doing housework, and some general maintenance. A beautiful, beautiful organic garden, fresh veges, 3 friendly doggies and a smoochy cat, world renowned salads, great meals and a lovely place as a base to explore ChCh as part of the exchange. Please read through my listing and message me if you're interested. Thanks. *** NB: I only host couples. If you're a single traveler, please don't contact me hoping I'll make an exception for you; I won't! I am a 61 year old woman and I have a little farmyard paradise in the middle of the city of Christchurch, with large organic vegetable gardens, fruit trees (peaches, pear, feijoa, plum) and a large walnut tree. Most people say it's like being here is like being in the country. I ask my volunteers to work 5 hours a day for 5 days with 2 days off, and prefer to host couples. I work until Thu...

HELP WANTED BETWEEN 25th JAN - 14th FEB PLEASE. Gardening and painting (min stay 4 days) We run a tourist accommodation business with a difference. We are situated on the banks of the Whanganui River, surrounded by the Whanganui National Park, however the only access to our property is via boat or, the more popular option, by aerial cable car (the flying fox). We are located 45km from Whanganui township with road access to the cable way via a beautiful scenic 45 min drive. Due to the rural location own transport is preferred as this will also enable you to explore the local area during time off. We have various accommodation options including camping, glamping and self contained cottages. We also provide catering for some guests. Our accommodation is unique in that it is all built from reclaimed materials and therefore is rustic and quirky! We are off-grid for everything except electricity and have no cell phone access although we do have internet available. We have large gardens an...

*** Looking for 1 - 2 girls to help out around here with room presentation for April for 2 weeks. Thanks *** Hi there! We have a large modern house 70m from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment. Our kiwi family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers/interns) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand. As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3-4 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax. Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit...

Hello!! ❤️ 🌱 🪴 🌲 ☀️ 🏝 Hola!! Looking for helpers from the 8th April - 22nd April (approximately) and also again in mid August 2024 onwards. Notes: We prefer 25+years but open to anyone who reads our profile and wants to stay. We are only accepting helpers with positive references thanks. We will have our first baby that will be born in June 2024 therefore there will be a newborn around in Aug (very cute but maybe noisy?!) and the work might be more adapted to cooking, cleaning and laundry. We have a gorgeous home that overlooks kilometres of ocean view. We have so many dreams for this place! We are currently growing organic food and have created beautiful spaces to enjoy the land. We still want to develop more of the garden, grow MORE food, re-build a sauna and an outside fire bath and plant a food forest. We love to use what skills you have so you enjoy what you're doing. We are more than happy to adapt work to meet your creativity and needs. We are Sarah from NZ and Ma...

** Both Annelise and Tom will be overseas until the start of 2025, so we won't be able to host anyone until then we're sorry ** We are two friends who co-bought a 30-acre section of native forest at the top of the Omoto valley, with the intention of creating a space where ourselves, friends, and family can use and feel at home. From the road end, it’s a 5-minute walk to reach our section along a small graveled path, built by hand. We have two small cabins sited up on a river terrace, under a canopy of rata and rimu trees, with a view out across the valley and the forest around. We have built /renovated both cabins ourselves to suit the surroundings, using mostly recycled materials, with plenty of exposed timber and cutting no corners on finishing touches. There is no road noise or sign of any neighbours and there's no utility services connected, so it feels remote and is pretty simple living. Since coming into ownership of the land, there has been an ongoing stream of projects to c...

Hi there, Shun and I live in the coastal town of Timaru, 10 mins by foot to the beach and 1 hours drive to the lakes and mountains. I am an Artist and Shun is a Sheep Shearer and we are looking for helpers to assist with day to day running of our household and garden. We have two young children so a volunteer who likes kids is a must as we would hope that you can help with this too. Your accommodation will be in our roomy 4 berth caravan 'minty'. That way you will have your own lounge space and when you have time off can come and go as you please. Shun is Japanese and I am British and we met in NZ while we were wwoofing so we know how it is to be in your position. We are very flexible with arrangements in regards to working hours and duties, however, a 'can-do' attitude and sunny disposition would be a huge thumbs up! We would prefer an non-smoker please We look forward to meeting you and sharing our home with you. :) I hope to meet you soon. :D All the best for your travels Helen ...

We are an organically based beekeeping and honey processing company adhering to Rudolf Steiner principles of natural living. Processing our own product allows us to supply an unheated product, ensuring an undamaged enzyme count with botanicals and a complex flavour to the pallet. The volunteer work will involve a variety of cleaning up hive gear, helping to jar and process honey, labelling, making beeswax candles, propolis creams, preparing the bee gear, building and (in the right season) visiting the hives. Our work exchange is 24 hours a week for full board and 3 healthy meals a day. We have a vegetable garden that you can harvest from for meals. Kia Ora, I have a small lifestyle block in the extreme Far North of New Zealand being on the Aupouri Peninsula - 90 Mile Beach on west coast & Henderson Bay & Rarawa Beach on East coast. The property is in the middle of Peninsula so it is only 5 minutes to both the east & west coast & 45 minutes from Cape Reinga (by vehicle). Great fishing, surfing & tramping areas. I run a beef raising property. I offer great accomodation etc for help with general farm/property maintenance (lawns, gardening, fencing, chainsawing, some animalwork, painting, building etc) & the odd larger project depending on the helpers skills. Tasks may vary depending on the seasonal requirements. Helpers are required to help with meals & general housework chores. I lead a very busy life & I have to work off the property so you need to be very flexable. There is no public transport close by & the nearest town is 40 minutes by car. You need to be a self starter, motivated, clean living, have a high respect for others w...

Here is a little bit of background about me and the business: I have been around horses from the age of about 6 so have over 40 years worth of experience with them and have combined some of what I learnt in the early days (through the traditional English method) with all I have picked up from the Natural style which I have been learning for over 20 years. In 2010 I set up my own business using Natural Horsemanship to train horses and teach people how to be with our equine friends. I have a base close to Christchurch and a small team of horses/ponies which are available for people to use who don’t have access to their own. I am also available for those with their own horses to teach/train either at their own paddock or back at my base. I offer a variety of services from breaking in or starting horses through to basic pony rides, lessons, school holiday programmes and more. I have a passion for this style of being with these amazing creatures and love to share what I have learnt wit...

Hi, my name is Tim, I live in a secluded eco village, located in a large valley surrounded by regenerating forest. two gorgeous beaches 5 and 8 minutes drive, one popular with local surfers. The village I live in is shared with around 35 other residents ranging from young children to grandparents. My home, which was built when my mother was pregnant with me, now my own, she lives next door in her cottage. I have been slowly renovating, doing it up. Almost finished building a workshop onto it.

As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3-4 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax.

Very relaxed and easy going environment/people, great food and good company. Only a short bus or car ride into town, not too far to bike but probably a little too far to walk. We have 4 bicycles available to use. Around the Hawkes Bay are 168km of bike trails, many right along the beautiful coastline. We prefer couples, because we have 3...

We offer a self contained studio, with bathroom and kitchenette. We are over the road from a swimmable river, have kayaks. The beach is 7km away and we are 25km from the nearest town and shops. We grow a lot of our own fruit & veg and are environmentally conscious. Meals are pretty good here, generally home made. We're not vegetarian but go meat free at times or you can self cater if preferred. Derek makes a great flat white coffee! We are needing help with property maintenance- lawns and gardens mainly, but could use housecleaning help too, ie windows & paintwork cleaned. Our property is one acre. So, 3-4 hours/ day of work in exchange but negotiable depending on meal requirements. We are in our 60s, musicians and actively volunteer with environmental causes. A stay of 3 - 7 nights is ideal.

We have 2 Giant Flemish rabbits, and 4 chickens called Rosie, Margarita, Mojito & Ruby. We have hosted Help X volunteers many times in the past, but we closed our account down at the start of the pandemic & lost our reviews. Our past Help X crew helped us set up our current Air BnB, and came from all around the globe. We’re a busy whānau/family with lots going on in our whare/home. We’re in a residential area, 7kms out of Rotorua central. We’re looking for 1 person to help with a number of things, mainly gardening/weeding and painting outside.

We live a lifestyle of living off the land, I get a good chunk of my food here with fishing, freediving, hunting, growing and foraging. My home, which was built when my mother was pregnant with me, now my own, she lives next door in her cottage. I have been slowly renovating, doing it up. Almost finished building a workshop onto it. New to Helpx, but not new to hosting volunteers Thank you for checking out my page

We are a Farm Animal Sanctuary based in the beautiful Cardrona Valley, situated 15 minutes from the popular tourist destination Wanaka and 40 minutes from Queenstown. We are based 25 minutes from the Cardrona Ski Resort. During your volunteering day here, you will interact with many farm animals and help out with daily farm chores and our continuing on farm revegetation project. Daily tasks vary but can include paddock grooming, brushing the donkeys and horses, walking pony’s and donkeys for extra exercise, helping out with feeding and some cleaning. We also do planting and potting up of the tree seedlings we grow on the farm, plant out trees, maintain plantings, and prepare new sites for planting. We offer free accommodation for 4 hours of morning work daily from Monday to Friday. No weekends. The accomodation is a small but cosy two bed cabin. You will provide and cook your own food but are welcome to join our shared meals. We look forward to hosting you!
