Hello and welcome to our symbiotic living project. Our 20 acre hobby farm is in peaceful surrounds, with river access for swimming and water play; we are within 20 minutes of various stunning beaches, bush walks, Tairua, and Whitianga. We have 2 rescue cows, 5 sheep, 2 cats, some chickens (and a rooster!) and 2 boisterous, friendly and fun German Shepherds. We are always happy to share our land with others. We are slowly transforming our farm paddocks through the addition of native and edible plantings, community garden area development, compost loo, solar shower, deck making and cottage building. We aim to create a magical space for many to benefit from and seek many hands to make light work of our various projects. Tasks include gardening, mulching, planting, cleaning, and light building if that's in your skillset. We are always working on improving our infrastructure and landscape, so any help and ideas are welcome. There's something for everyone, come join the fun! Accommodation...

Our home is myself and my daughter (18) , both working, one dog and one ferocious cat named Christmas Pudding, four chickens and a big garden so I am always happy to get some help. We have a good sense of humor and like to share our kiwi culture. The area is great for cycling, hiking, fishing and hunting. I will supply great food and company and a lot of local knowledge of the beautiful places to visit in our close proximity, in return for 5 hours of help per day. I prefer helpers who have a car but I can pick up in Murupara if necessary. There is a bus from Rotorua to Murupara 3 times a week. Our home is very peaceful in Galatea valley with outstanding views of the bordering mountain range, about 10 minutes drive from Murupara. We have WI-fi. MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK ENGLISH and enjoy the same food as we do. I will only host for a maximum five days, could be shorter too depending on help needed at time. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you. Update.

Greetings intrepid explorers from exotic distant lands, come and hang out at my place. I offer a lovely warm house, a majestic view, beautiful bread, and copious amounts of fish. The work varies from domestics and gardening to building and painting. In exchange I ask for 3 hours per day (9 to 12) [or 3 days of 4hrs gets a day off], and the odd domestic chore. You don't work on the day you arrive or the day you leave (except to put fresh linen on the bed). Stays last about 2 weeks. Behind my place is the mighty Coromandel Range so you can go bush-crashing up the creek, into the wild. Swim and fish on the beach. Maybe use windsurfer boards (as kayaks) and go fishing. Or take a trip out to my magic fishing spot with me. Possibly cycle 4km to Waiomu and walk 1hr or jog 20min to a stunning Kauri Grove. 10km to Thames. The Pinnacles track is about 45miutes away for a great overnighter.

Hi Helpers, We are situated in the heart of Raglan in a nice little tucked away valley (walking distance to the town center). On the land there are a few dwellings (two main houses, a yurt and a tiny house). As a helper you will live in the tiny house. It has a loft area for the bed, and a semi outside (complete closed in) kitchen and bathroom area. The tiny house is insulated, and there is a wood burner to keep the place cosy on those colder days. We are looking for someone (1 person or a couple probably best, but can be two friends) who can help with garden tidy-up (lawns, weeds and pruning) and other works around the property (e.g. clearing out the storm water drains, extending the garden, small building projects, etc.). In the valley we have two couples in the yurt and one of the main houses, respectively and a family of 4 (two children aged 9 and 11). There are also 7 chicken, two bunnies, and 3 cats. We ask for about 2 hours per day/person in exchange for accommodation ...

*** Welcoming helpxer/s now :-) *** Nestled in the beautiful Southern Alps is the historic settlement of Cass (approx half way between Christchurch and Greymouth). I am offering private accommodation, (separate from the house with own bathroom) and all groceries/meals in exchange for odd jobs - painting, gardening and lawn mowing. There is plenty to do in the area including fishing on many of the nearby high country lakes (1.6km spectacular walk to Lake Sarah) day walks/ tramping in Arthurs Pass National Park and Craigieburn forest Park, skiing on one of the 5 local ski fields, four wheel driving, Scree jumping (down Sugar Loaf). A short drive to Cave stream scenic reserve (one of the south Islands best free activities) and Castle Hill natural rock climbing park (where scenes from Lord of the Rings and Narnia were filmed). Other nearby facilities are The Bealey Hotel (10mins) and Arthurs Pass 20mins. In exchange I would like four hours work per day. Cass can be reached by car...

We are a Farm Animal Sanctuary based in the beautiful Cardrona Valley, situated 15 minutes from the popular tourist destination Wanaka and 40 minutes from Queenstown. We are based 25 minutes from the Cardrona Ski Resort. During your volunteering day here, you will interact with many farm animals and help out with daily farm chores and our continuing on farm revegetation project. Daily tasks vary but can include paddock grooming, brushing the donkeys and horses, walking pony’s and donkeys for extra exercise, helping out with feeding and some cleaning. We also do planting and potting up of the tree seedlings we grow on the farm, plant out trees, maintain plantings, and prepare new sites for planting. We offer free accommodation for 4 hours of morning work daily. The accomodation is a small but cosy two bed cabin and a queen bed cabin is available also. Do you long to step away from the outside world for a while and immerse yourself in nature ? Then look no further as we are looking for helpers in our wee piece of Paradise at the moment ......... Our farm is 100 acres of deer-fenced land on the Otago Peninsula. The help we require is some basic garden maintenance, wood splitting, weed-eating etc. We are an animal besotted family with 2 horses, 2 cats, and 2 dogs (please NOTE we have retired drugs dogs so if you use even occasionally, whilst we are not judging you, please don't bother offering your services !). We need helpers who are energetic, honest, fun, caring, conscientious, can get on with jobs without requiring supervision and are not glued to a device!!! Some equestrian knowledge would be good (but not necessary) as you will be helping with the daily care of the horses. We are a working farm, so sorry but no pets thanks. We usually only take couples (but have had single helpers before) as you can help each other out on ...

We live on a kiwifruit and avocado orchard between Whakatane and Opotiki located a few minutes drive from the Ohiwa Harbour and Waiotahe Beach. We have space available now (June 2025) and need some help at the moment with gardens, orchard work and some extra jobs around the house. Our orchard is 10 minutes drive from Opotiki so you will need your own car, however we don't mind picking you up and dropping you off at the bus stop on your arrival/departure. For those with a work permit, we sometimes have extra paid work but please ask before confirming your stay. General help is required around the orchard and property for 4 hours per day in exchange for accommodation and meals in our family home. Come join us in the Able Tasman. The gardens always need TLC, the vege garden needs more help as it's always been neglected by me while I potter with the horses. The Mot river is within walking distance with great swimming holes or you can dip in the pool and we are not far from the national park with all it's tramping trails. It does help if you have your own car but we have had others who haven't and it's worked our for them. We are on a larger section 10km up the Motueka Valley. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats and 20 odd American miniature horses. We only have 1 queen bed spare in our tiny house which we are restoring. We are needing help in the gardens, and if you have carpentry skills we have a small job that you can help do. We are casual with your hrs and just ask if you do 4 hrs a day but at your time. But if you want to take a day off you can and make up the hrs later. The work involves weeding, feeding, planting and helping me with horse activities like fencing feeding out and ...

*** Looking for someone with a background in nursing or physiotherapy to support after a hip implant*** We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7.30 am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dog and work starts at 8.30am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arr...

Our house is situated about 35 minutes drive from Rotorua or 45 minutes from Taupo. Living at the house are brothers Angus and Alex. Basically, we are in need of some help to maintain the property. It is a lifestyle block of 5 acres land with lots of trees, plants and gardens that need looking after. A beach front section. Kayaking, body boarding, swimming and fishing available for guests. Accomodation and meals provided in exchange for four hours work a day. Gardening, housework, general household maintenance and painting could be requested. I can collect people from the end of the Taupo Bay road or Mangonui. My preference is for people to stay a week . Taupo Bay is quite a small community and no public transport is available so it is often easier to have your own transport. Certainly not essential as arrangements can be made for collection and support to get to your next destination. Many thanks for looking. Fran

We currently have enough helpers until mid July, then we are looking for more helpers, so get in touch if that suits you! We are a young married couple who are building our strawbale house. It will be a passive house, so very low energy. It's in a suburban / urban setting on the port hills of Christchurch City with a view down the valley and nature reserves nearby with lots of hikes. My husband is building our dream home full time and needs some helpers. He is a qualified builder and is always willing to teach, but prefers helpers who have some building experience already. We are now 2/3 complete with the house. My retired parents live nearby, provide accommodation and food and my dad also helps build. We frequently host weekend workshops for friends to learn and assist. There are a number of natural building techniques that are uncommon but very sustainable and we are keen to share our knowledge. Remaining approximate timeline of tasks per month for the house build: June: Interi...

I live in a beautiful part of the Coromandel, near a small village called Kuaotunu, which is only 5 minutes to some lovely beaches. My home is surrounded by bush with a beautiful stream going through it, that generates the power I need. I also have solar power and solar hot water heating. We grow our own veggies and have cows and a cat and three gold fish. The land has a hill that gives awesome views out to the ocean and lovely bush walks . One of the things we do is collect sea food to make yummy meals. i have a self contained chalet, with a log fire. We do all sorts of jobs like gardening, building projects and what ever comes along. If you have a special skill that could help me in my home or property, let me know.... and of course socializing, conversation and music with a nice glass of wine, all in a relaxed way of life. If you are a happy, talkative type person feel free to get in touch:-) cheers tony

PLEASE READ description AND PLEASE IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU READ PLEASE PLEASE DON'T apply to come just for the fun and adventures with other Travellers as I feel sad when you let me down, which automatically lets the other volunteers down . We / You all need to share the workload and leave things as you find them by having / showing respect for each other. Leave everything you touch as you find and if someone does leave a mess either let them know or please just clean up and let them all know you have done so as I always check first thing most mornings and then I take a video for Group Chat. So its nice to wake up to big aTHANK you rather than a reminder to clean up .. Remember RATS mice love left overs at night time. We have a Native TREE Field and we have planted many Natives for a future walk for the PUBLIC (already being used) so you MUST enjoy looking after the little trees which means a lot of weeding (called releasing) and maintenance & planting when your not helping ...

Welcome! Your choice: You can exchange two hours help/day for the room only and provide your own food, or we can provide meals for you, and you help us for four hours/day. Also: Sometimes there is a possibility of renting our room in exchange for some few hours per week plus dollars. Our home is surrounded by nature and some of Nelson's best mountain biking and walking tracks. We are two friendly people, some chickens and a cat. Our home is in easy walking distance of Nelson city centre, but it is quiet and private. It's like being in the country. There's a good mix of things to do: Looking after garden and trees, house and each other, making music, preserving fruit, generally enjoying life. We can talk to you in English, French or German. We like to share meals with helpers. We love to feed you (and love being cooked for by you, too!). If you want to teach us a song from your country, that would make us happy. The Most Important thing we hope for in a Helper is that they want to...

We live on a semi rural farming property of 52ha overlooking the Waitemata harbour with views of Waiheke, Rangitoto and the Skytower, 30 mins south east of Auckland City. We are two minutes from the beach and there are several walks and cycling tracks nearby. We mainly farm sheep and also keep bees. You would be living as part of our family and are welcome to join in with any social events and activities, in particular fishing and boating. We have 3 adult children, and three grandchildren as well as three dogs and a cat. As a family we all enjoy meeting people from different cultures and forging connections with them and now have lifetime friends around the world. You can help us with gardening, landscaping, painting, building bee apiaries, planting natives (Autumn) and general housework and maintenance. It would be for a maximum of 4 hours a day which will leave plenty of time to explore the local area.

My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, three of them married, and five grandchildren. Three of our children are living at home (1 of them home-schooling, 2 working). Our oldest son with his wife and 4 young boys has moved back to our property two years ago, - now living in our cottage; another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. And a friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove are also part...

Available now - painting experience wanted. I have been living in Whangarei for most of my life - love it here :-) myself and partner have recently bought a home on half an acre of land a few minutes drive from the CBD and also have a Waterfront Bach 10 minutes drive away too. Love helping the community, mountain biking and mountain biking trails and exploring lots of fun things to do nearby. With these homes there`s plenty of work to be done around - including especially painting, yard work / gardening, housework, helping building a tree house etc. I`d like to meet some travellers to help out with these and happy to introduce / show around some of northland`s best attractions / secrets! Can provide sleeping quarters, food and drinks for around 4 hours work per day.. Can also potentially provide a bike to borrow / further allowances dependent on the level of work.. Also if anyone has any specific experience and career history as any building related trade I would happily pay a go...

We are looking for one person or maybe two practical people who can just potter about sorting out some jobs. The jobs I have are feeding animals peacock, chickens, pig. Then I’m keen to find someone to help with some gardening Ive been busy so its a bit overgrown. I’d also like to re-organise my entire implement shed to make a more workable space. Plenty of garden jobs and always clearing and de-cluttering and Pruning. We are home most of the time and just go about doing general jobs on our farm & garden. Would you like to come and join us for a bit? We aim to keep you relaxed, well fed and always included with family activities. It is beautiful here and the Tui’s are here on mass. Cold but sunny. Lots to do before winter sets in so we need to get outside with some help. Our jobs are totally seasonal and changes from month to month, but focus is on improving the garden, outdoor seating areas, making the most of our beautiful outside. We are a working farm with some really fun life...

Accommodation is in either single or double bedrooms so suitable for a couple or 2 friends. Or we have a caravan if you prefer. WiFi available, cell phone coverage limited.

****this profile was updated 24 June 2025**** Hi there, We hope life is good with you and you are enjoying your travels within NZ. Our house is situated about 35 minutes drive from Rotorua or 45 minutes from Taupo. Living at the house are brothers Angus and Alex. The property is a family home owned by our parents, Scott and Rosemary who occasionally stay but now have other accommodation in Taupo. We have a few animals. A cat, dog and several sheep. Basically, we are in need of some help to maintain the property. It is a lifestyle block of 5 acres land with lots of trees, plants and gardens that need looking after. It is a 4-bedroom house with 2 bathrooms. In these colder winter months, the jobs would be: - raking leaves or debris on the ground - helping sort firewood and moving wood / cutting down trees - vacuuming inside of the house - cleaning of the bathrooms (shower, toilets, washbasins) - wiping down the ceilings and walls - dusting of ornaments and furniture - removal ...

No vacancy until mid/late July 25. We are a friendly household with a teen, a large and loud but friendly dog, 3 chickens and a small spray-free veggie garden. Our place is located adjacent to and overlooking beautiful NZ bush as well as stunning views over Wellington harbour. We split our time between our house in Lower Hutt and our bach on the Kapiti Coast about 45min North of Wellington. There is an easy train connection to Wellington from there. We are bi-lingual English/German with some rudimentary French. We have had people from Singapore, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Australia, Japan, Martinique, Italy, France, Tahiti, Malaysia, Peru, Korea, Taiwan, China, Czech Republic, Argentina, UK, Austria, USA and Catalonia stay with us and always had great fun. We require 4 hrs work from you every day, doing a variety of jobs around the house, the section (garden) and help with the animals. Work involves general housekeeping, help around the house, looking after the chickens, weeding, pos...

Hi fabulous help-xers! We have an opportunity for a couple, or a small group of helpx to come for a week, or two weeks at a time. We are a family of five running a sheep and beef farm in Rissington, just out of Napier. (three children aged 11, 13 and 15) We have comfortable accommodation with your own large King bedroom and bathroom, that would suit an energetic, couple, or one/two motivated people travelling together who are keen to help with our beautiful riverside accommodation whilst learning about our culture and family along the way! You will stay and help cook meals for our family whilst having the opportunity to go out and explore the beautiful Hawkes Bay. We are looking for help with the following; landscaping, weeding, spraying, limbing up trees, spraying down and washing outside of buildings, washing windows, gardening and general maintenance around the property. Your own car would be an advantage. In return for your help, we would love to welcome you into our close-knit...

I have a 9 unit motel and holiday park which accommodates campervans/tents/and buses. We can offer a self contained motel room or an on site caravan, free wifi, and meals in exchange for general cleaning duties/maintenanace work and painting.Would love to have someone for a long term, but of course we welcome any proposals.Putaruru is close to "everywhere" and though not essential, having your own vehicle will allow you to enjoy so much more of what the Waikato has to offer.Rotorua,Taupo,Mt Maunganui and Waitomo caves are all within an hours driving.Locally the famous "Blue springs",Hobbitton and Waikato river walks feature and we will be able to arrange transport to some places if you do not have a vehicle.I am maori and I think I can provide other perceptions and cultural perspectives to your visit.Trying to learn to speak German if someone is kind enough to help me that would be great!Particuarly interested in someone who can update my website!! We now have an onsite coffee cart and the...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters,no bum, guts or shoulder shooters.please don`t apply unless you intend to come.minimum stay two weeks, one person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. as I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers !
