Hello, I live 25 km from Picton in the Marlborough Sounds on the seaside. I am an artist and organic gardener. The views here are spectacular. I feed the bellbirds and Tuis on the deck. Here you are constantly surrounded by native bird song. And can walk on a beach daily. There is an outside room with a double and a single bed in it and a composting toilet and a shower. There is also a caravan. I can pick you up in Linkwater which is our closest town although its only a Pub and a petrol station but its on the main Queen Charlotte road half way between Picton and Havelock. If you are finishing the Queen Charlotte track I can pick you up. This is a beautiful place to spend a week or so. I have 4 free range chickens and a very friendly dog. I organic garden with 20 plus years experience in this way of life and eat and forage and fish a lot. I enjoy a life of less money and more time. I live by the beach which is great for swimming (summer) and fishing and walking. There is plenty of...

Welcome to our peaceful 3-acre lifestyle property in the beautiful Hokianga region of Northland, New Zealand. If you're looking for a genuine escape from city life, our small farm offers the opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience a more self-sufficient way of living. We share our land with free-ranging chickens, productive vegetable gardens, and a growing collection of fruit trees that help provide food for our table throughout the year. There are always a variety of interesting projects underway. We are currently converting an old wool shed into accommodation, creating a unique and comfortable space for future guests and helpers. Those who enjoy practical hands-on work will find plenty of opportunities for woodworking, building projects, gardening, planting, maintenance, and general farm activities. We are passionate about producing healthy food from the land and learning traditional skills. Depending on the season, you may be involved in harvesting fruit ...

We live on a small property eight minutes from Kerikeri township. We have a private lake and kayaks are available to explore. We used to run a bed and breakfast here so I guess we can say we dont bite and our place is clean and comfortable. Some animals and chickens on site. Fruit when in season. Having a vehicle to explore for times when you are not working is a must and there is no public transport here. We are meat eaters. We need help now throughout the year. I have some physical limitations and require help to get on top of STUFF. We have many trees that have been felled waiting for splitting with a fuel powered machine, paths needed to be built, gardening, general gardening tools available and I am also building a cottage. Inside work for those wet days include painting, plus preparation, cleaning windows plus other general household tasks. Woodworking/carpentry skills could be an asset. There is a workshop here if you want to pursue a project. A previous couple outfitted th...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

Kia ora Good folk are most welcome to come and share this beautiful land and evolving home, garden, orchard, native restoration project 10km from Nelson. I've ticked 1 or 2 people - and, if you're great people & more than that, still get in touch ... Our place best suits people who are self-motivated, preferably skilled/experienced/handy with tools, and who find a bit of hard work satisfying. Practical people rock - especially if able to build or enjoy land work. Awesome for people who enjoy a bit of time to themselves (I work from home but won't be working with you all the time). 4ish hours a day flexi ... showing some love to the land and my little constellation of cabins ... check out Trehane Chill - you'll see my vibe. You have a super-sweet little cosy cabin that have been crafted with love and a strong commitment to recycling complete with kitchen and outdoor bathroom. Things are beautiful and simple here - off grid (enough solar to run laptops and power tools but if you c...

The bus runs at the bottom of the hill every 20 mins, but the schedule is best checked on the app. Just $2 .50 with a orbus card. The room is small, with two bunk beds, a desk, with wi fi, and chrome cast tv. Our position is for all areas of house keeping at a professional level. We run a B&B, meeting place, and pop up cafe on occasions. The work is physical and fast paced. It is a sole position. Previous experience is preferred. A month is best for us, and longer if it works well. We are not looking for help at this stage till later in august . As we are now covered till this time. Experience is really most helpful. As I need to just let you get on, while I have other things. So from 8 am to 1 pm, in exchange for breakfast lunch and evening meal. You have a small room with desk, chrome cast screen, a set of bunks. I cannot cater for dietary needs sorry. And This is sole charge position. So a good level of fitness and be able to self direct are impor...

Seven years ago we sold our farm in Mauriceville West and are now living on the outskirts of Masterton where we have 6 acres. We have stunning views to the mountains in the West and rural views of hill ranges and farms to the East. We have a walk and cycle path outside the gate where you can walk to Masterton or other walks. We live adjacent to Lansdowne Golf Course. As we are both retired we now need extra help with gardening, cleaning, window cleaning and sometimes fencing or painting. We run a small AirBnB at our property which may require changing sometimes. We also have another house in Masterton which may require maintenance at times. We both like meeting people and have traveled ourselves many times, we have also met up with and keep in contact with several of our past helpx helpers when we've been overseas

We, Frank and Elisa, are retired hippies and live in the bush, off the grid near Lake Brunner. We have a small vegetable garden, growing vegetables for own use. We have chooks and a couple of ducks. We enjoy yoga, choir singing, theatre, board games and tramping. Elisa is a reflexologist, a massage and holistic pulsing therapist. Note: Our availability to host helpers is limited. We would love your help with weeding, weed eating and cleaning. You need to be happy to spend time with our 10 year old son, be able to babysit him if needed and be able to work independently. We also have a friendly, energetic dog. We are a family who love the outdoors and our alternative lifestyle here on Great Barrier Island. We live in a house that is completely off the grid and runs 100% on solar power. Our water comes directly from the sky or from the stream, we have a big vegetable patch and most of our meat and fish comes from the island's land and sea. Andy is a builder and Deborah runs a stargazing tour company and accommodation. In our spare time we fish, dive, surf, garden or play on the beach with our son and dog. We moved into this property in March 2017 after spending a year renovating (thanks to all the help from wonderful HelpXers). But there's often help required around the house and garden, so get in touch! ...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. We farm sheep and beef in the heart of the Catlins, in Tawanui at the start of the popular Catlins river walk. The farm consists of sheep, cattle, four rideable horses and some coloured pet Gotland sheep along with an array of wild deer roaming the hill. Help will consist of some stock work, some fencing, maintenance of all sorts, gardening, firewood and general helping around the house. Always having fun and a good laugh as we work. I don't travel so its nice to meet people from all walks of life and learn about there culture. If you are keen for some work, and want to meet some locals and enjoy the breath taking Catlins, please get in contact.

We are a family of four living on a lifestyle block in the beautiful Wairarapa, with the entrance to the Tararua Forest park just up the road. There you will find some great tramping, walking, mountain biking and a cool swing bridge across the river and a great swimming hole during summer. On our block we have a small herd of cattle, some sheep and a pony along side many birds living in the local landscape. We are presently looking for helpers for painting, gardening and always need help with firewood, gardening, riparian planting and general help (maybe some pony care for helpers who love horses) for an average of four hours a day in exchange for food and accommodation. The accommodation best suits a couple. We are 15 mins drive from Greytown and Carterton. Non-smokers only please. Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. Preference will be given to helpers with a genuine interest in learning about NZ dairy farming and animal husbandry. We love sharing what we do and prefer to host helpers with a desire to learn. We run a boutique dairy farm, milking a small herd of much loved cows and selling raw milk to our wonderful customers Starting a new business is hard work and not for the faint-hearted. If you consider yourself up for the challenge of helping us, we'd love to hear from you! We offer a family environment with opportunities for farm work, housework, gardening and cooking. There is a wide variety of work available. Working with the animals of course, weed control, plus fencing work, painting, carpentry, building and lots of different small tasks to complete. If outdoor work doesn't appeal, help in the house with cooking and cleaning is always appreciated, and the large and previously neglected garden also requires a lot of work. We grow our own veggies and have cows and a cat and three gold fish. now only two the cat ate one The land has a hill that gives awesome views out to the ocean and lovely bush walks has a meditation spot .. One of the things we do is collect sea food to make yummy meals. i have a self contained chalet, with a log fire. We do all sorts of jobs like gardening, building projects and what ever comes along. If you have a special skill that could help me in my home or property, let me know.... and of course socializing, conversation and music with a nice glass of wine, all in a relaxed way of life. If you are a happy, talkative type person feel free to get in touch:-) cheers tony

Hi, I am excited to be able to host again! I love living close to nature, co creating with my environment and doing my best to live with awareness. I enjoy simple things like food I have grown, good company, birdsong, swimming in the river, singing... I am an artist/musician and traveller. I like to do yoga and meditation most days. I am always happy to meet other travellers to share knowledge and life experience. As well as English I speak Italian. I now have a puppy living with me so it's helpful if you like dogs. Her name is Leia and she's very cute. I am looking for help on my property which I am developing as a nature retreat. It is a great place to re centre and recharge. It would suit people who are nature lovers who like being off the beaten track. There is no wifi or TV Sending and receiving texts is generally ok Phone reception maybe dependent on your phone or if the gods are happy! I enjoy meeting people from around the world to share knowledge, experiences, work and hope...

We are looking for helpers from right now and have space for two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we still have international surf coaches staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of June we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city. Kia ora! Seeking help all through the year. The home is a large Oamaru stone villa where my 20yr old son and our tabby cat live with me. Our work does take us away from home from time to time and we need help to maintain the existing gardens, and to redevelop some areas. I am redeveloping an area to become a vegetable garden and would love help with this. We have around 2 acres of garden - mainly flowers, hedges and mature trees with a pond which plays host to gold fish and attracts numerous dragonflies. The gardens are very tranquil. We host small events occasionally and sometimes run garden tours. Ideally, you'll have a bit of garden knowledge, but most importantly you'll be fit, have initiative and a willingness to muck in and help outdoors. The majority of work will be weeding, pruning, trimming. I expect 4 hours of productive work each day in exchange for accommodation, breakfast provisions for you to help yourself to, lunch and dinner. The accommodation is a bedroom in a s...

Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of @296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host helpers hopefully from different cultures in the house. T...

We run a three bedroom accomodation located in the beautiful historic area of Kerikeri just up from the Stone Store. We are looking for preferably a single person (ranking as mature) interested in staying at the lodge and taking care of the general running of things (around 2-4 hours per day , negotiable) This is very relaxed and mostly entails greeting guests in the afternoons and showing them to their rooms (only when we have bookings), cleaning rooms if the cleaner is away, taking bookings as well as some general property maintenance. You will stay in a separate part of the lodge with full kitchen, private room and bathroom. I am generally around the lodge most days but leave in the evenings as I live with my partner out of Kerikeri. So we work as a team. This means you will likely be taking care of yourself in the evenings, so being able to cook is important. We include you in most socil activities if you are keen, such as sailing. Every Helpx so far has been nothing short o...

Kia Ora, This is an Organic B&B annex residential Therapy centre for auditory brain stimulation to improve how we learn, live & listen. Background in journalism, music and eduction. No complex jobs, mainly help with the maintenance of house and gardens. I am a wwoof host as well, since 2015 in fact and still am. That organisation (www.wwoof.co.nz) is in fact my first port of call. I only recently got back on board with HelpX. You'd work independently, so some know-how is required especially with regards to the gardens. Work hours: flexible but generally between 4 -5 hrs daily, preferably in the morning. You either can cater for yourselves ( in case you stay in one of the studios) or have your meals provided for, whatever suits best. With regards to your accommodation: over the winter that would most likely be either in one of the studios or up at the main house. The studios have their own kitchen so in case you choose to be there you may want to do your own cooking. The rooms upsta...

Kia ora guys, We live in a small west coast beach village about 35-40 minutes from central Auckland called Muriwai Beach. It is one of NZ`s most stunning and wildest beaches. We have a half acre section that always needs little things doing and the house is slowly being worked on as well so experience in building or skilled labour is always cool as well as people who like to work in the gardens and landscape. We have a daughter who is 11 years old who loves playing in the outdoors, tending her veggie garden and meeting people from all over the world. If you like the beach and the wild west coast then I`m sure you will love it out here. I work in the television and film industry while my partner is a a musician. Drop us a line and tell us a bit about yourself and maybe you can come out and share some of the magic that we feel living here. Cheers. Toby, Moana and Manawanui.

Please let us know if you have any special food requirements or allergies which might need to be considered during your stay.

The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

We try to fit the work to each helper's skills and interests, and ...
