We can have a couple or 2 friends that dont mind sharing We are a family-run flower farm growing a wide range of seasonal blooms including roses and lilies. Our flowers are harvested fresh and sold through our on-site farm shop, to local florists, and to wholesale customers, so the farm is always busy and changing with the seasons. As a HelpX helper you’ll be part of our small, hardworking team and experience genuine farm life. Work is hands-on and varies depending on the time of year, but can include picking flowers, bunching, cleaning and preparing blooms, tidying garden beds, weeding, general farm maintenance and helping keep things running smoothly. The work can be physical at times, but it’s rewarding and you’ll see the results of your effort straight away. This is not a resort or retreat — it’s a real working farm — but it’s a warm, friendly environment where helpers are appreciated and treated like part of the team. We value people who are reliable, positive, and willing to giv...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters !! .please don`t apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers ! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar ( badly ) and sing ( worse ) ,but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

Kia ora! Seeking help all through the year. The home is a large Oamaru stone villa where my 20yr old son and our tabby cat live with me. Our work does take us away from home from time to time and we need help to maintain the existing gardens, and to redevelop some areas. I am redeveloping an area to become a vegetable garden and would love help with this. We have around 2 acres of garden - mainly flowers, hedges and mature trees with a pond which plays host to gold fish and attracts numerous dragonflies. The gardens are very tranquil. We host small events occasionally and sometimes run garden tours. Ideally, you'll have a bit of garden knowledge, but most importantly you'll be fit, have initiative and a willingness to muck in and help outdoors. The majority of work will be weeding, pruning, trimming. I expect 4 hours of productive work each day in exchange for accommodation, breakfast provisions for you to help yourself to, lunch and dinner. The accommodation is a bedroom in a s...

Hi we need help from 8th March onwards until end March. Then again from 20th April on wards. Looking for helpers wanting to stay 2weeks or possibly longer but we will consider shorter stays so do get in touch! Also looking for helpers wanting longer term. Generally after a girl helper as our kids are more comfortable with that. Someone who is able to muck in with whatever we need and likes cleaning!! We are looking for a female helper who can help us for 4 hours/day from now until 15 March. We will provide 3 meals, a room with a Queen bed, unlimited wifi and a friendly home. The main task is weeding and cleaning the house. Weeding is around vegetable beds, rice plots, fruit trees etc using a sickle. We might ask you to do cooking etc. Work is 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening (to avoid the hottest time of the day). I am from Japan, married a kiwi and have been living in NZ for 23 years. We are one of the few 'backyard rice growers' in New Zealand. Nathan was born in South Island, is an architect and had taught English in Taiwan for 1.5 years. Our daughter is 11 year old and bubbly. We have 4 chickens on a 1ha section. We are mainly vegetarians, quiet and enjoy meeting like-minded people who care about the people and the planet. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house was built in 2022. It has won an award as one of the most sustainable houses in NZ (a certified passive...

We live on a small property eight minutes from Kerikeri township. We have a private lake and kayaks are available to explore. We used to run a bed and breakfast here so I guess we can say we dont bite and our place is clean and comfortable. Some animals and chickens on site. Fruit when in season. Having a vehicle to explore for times when you are not working is a must and there is no public transport here. We are meat eaters. We need help now throughout the year. I have some physical limitations and require help to get on top of STUFF. We have many trees that have been felled waiting for splitting with a fuel powered machine, paths needed to be built, gardening, general gardening tools available and I am also building a cottage. Inside work for those wet days include painting, plus preparation, cleaning windows plus other general household tasks. Woodworking/carpentry skills could be an asset. There is a workshop here if you want to pursue a project. A previous couple outfitted th...

We run our pottery business from home and look after our organic gardens, small orchard and numerous chickens. In exchange for 4 hours work a day, 5 days a week we will provide you with all meals, but ask that you join in with the preparation, and accommodation in the funky little cabin with it's own veranda.  We will be happy to include you in our lifestyle, maybe you'll be there to go Friday night fishing on our yac...

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Currently the main focus is on landscaping, forging a pathway up the hill via carving out soil on one side and adding to the other side, creating little embankment walls in the process. Most of these embankments will be made from recycled Oamaru natural stone, a few with recycled glass bottles. Our white Oamaru sandstone has attracted various sculptors to our town, because it is soft enough to be cut and carved...

Kia ora. . Peak Valley is a high country station (10,000acres) farming merino sheep and beef on the edge of Lake Benmore. We are isolated. 45 mins from the highway. Couples or two friends work best in this isolated environment. The jobs are varied from gardening to farm work. It is a wilderness wonderland we like to share. There is the possibility of paid work if you have the right skill set. It is preferable that you have own transport. Accommodation is your own 3 bedroom cottage and we would supply food as you would cater for yourselves. It is off grid. Internet access and phone are at our home 1km away. Cheers.

We (Jules and Cam) moved onto a 19acre lifestyle block just outside Christchurch last year. We have some pet animals - a cat, Waipu goats, a couple of piggies, chickens and 2 mischievous donkeys. We also have sheep and are getting a few steers. It's a big piece of land and since we both work full-time we would appreciate help with some general maintenance - this could be weeding, lawn-mowing, picking fruit, fixing fences, painting or other adhoc projects. It will most likely be quite physical so bear that in mind. The house is in a very rural and peaceful area at the foot of the Port Hills but a less than 10 minute drive to the amenities in Halswell or cute Tai Tapu. We're approximately 30minutes to the CBD. Whilst we are happy to collect people from bus station/ airport it would be essential to have transport whilst staying if you wanted to get around. We have a spare room in the house, or if you have a van we have a caravan plug on the side of the house so you are welcome to park ...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. We moved back to Dunedin 8 years ago and since have made the garden more diverse by taking out a hedge to plant some native trees to provide better habitat for birds, insects, etc. There is now general upkeep and maintenance in the garden, including some tree and shrub cutting back, and some plants to be moved to more suitable locations within the garden. I focus on growing good organic vegetables, but also enjoy my flower garden. We have an 8 year old dog, Mocha. She was a rescue puppy, and is a Huntaway cross. We have a clean comfortable home, can cook vegetarian or vegan meals if required and are on a bus route which takes 8 - 10 min to the centre of Dunedin.

Our home is located 7km from central Taupo. There is no public transport available. We have a large native plant garden and a property which needs to be kept tidy as we have visitors coming for the garden and to view our art collection. Taupo is centrally located so many tourist attractions are available within a 2-3 hour drive. There is no public transport nearby so having your own car is essential. Arrival time is from 4pm. Helpers have their own bedroom with views over the garden, good beds, clean linen and own bathroom. We live on a no smoking, no vaping, drugs/covid free property. In exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day helpers work from 8.30am until 1pm then have lunch and the rest of the day free for sightseeing/personal activities. Work may include painting, housework, gardening, hedge trimming, firewood, small maintenance jobs and weed control. Bring suitable footwear as we work in all weathers. The washing machine is available to use the day before you leave. W...

Come experience the stunning views of Te Mata overlooking Whangarei Harbour and Bream Bay. We are looking for helpX volunteers for one or more weeks in exchange for accommodation in a spacious room in the main house, 3 delicious meals a day, and, of course, a great time. Alcohol is available at cost. If we click, long-term stays (until late May 2026) are preferred, just like several of our previous helpers who stayed with us for more than five months! The vacancy is available now. Our 12-hectare lifestyle block is located 20 minutes/km south of Whangarei (15 minutes by car to Bream Bay sandy beaches). It's an oasis of 50% native bush, rest paddocks and subtropical orchards: 60% bananas and a canopy of schizolobium, cherimoyas, papayas, mango, feijoa, and temperate fruits. Not to forget the SACRED GROVE where many events like parties, weddings (Ceremony and Reception) took place. If you're arriving by public transport, we can arrange a pickup in Whangarei. However, having your own car...

Accommodation on small farm, peaceful with lovely views, close to Dunedin City in exchange for help with Farm work, chopping firewood (easy to operate log-splitter), moving sheep from paddock to paddock, feeding stock in winter, mending fences, mowing lawns (ride-on), some housework (cleaning), occasional grooming, feeding and helping with horses. We need helpers who are energetic, honest, fun, caring, conscientious, can get on with jobs without requiring supervision and are not glued to a device! Some equestrian knowledge would be good (but not necessary). Plenty of scenic walks nearby and our beautiful beaches are not far away. Local transport (bus service) is 15 minutes walk away so own transport is recommended.

* Update I have an opening for a couple of helpers for a few days this coming weekend * I’m originally from the UK and now live in a lovely home on the edge of the Redwood Forest in Lynmore, Rotorua, with my two Kiwi kids (aged 8 and 10). We’re lucky to have New Zealand’s best mountain biking trails right on our doorstep, as well as stunning lakes, walks, and Rotorua’s incredible geothermal and cultural attractions — all of which we love exploring as locals. I’ve hosted Helpers for years before COVID and am excited to reconnect with the wonderful HelpX community. Our home is shared with chickens, bunnies, a friendly dog, and two young, slightly crazy cats (mostly house cats). We keep bees (so please note this may not suit anyone with serious allergies), grow veggies, and have plenty of trees and gardens to look after. We try to live low-waste — I collect food scraps from local cafés for the chickens, we run on solar power, drive an electric car, and enjoy our own honey. In exchang...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

Hello, I live with my mother and stepfather on a lifestyle property in Waipapa, Northland. Our property is on a kiwi bird zone and we hear them most nights; dogs and cats aren’t allowed so the native bird life flourish on our property eg Tui’s. We are 10 minute drive from Kerikeri; a rural town with many kiwifruit, lemon and mandarin orchards, farmers markets and historical and natural attractions. A good location to access the beaches of northland or visit the historic town of Russell or Paihai beach. We'd like a helper for household duties, care work and gardening. I need help with basic personal care (setting up for meals eg juicing or heating food, making the bed, doing washing, ironing, doing the dishes, passing things, cleaning, light cooking, and chopping vegetables). I am flexible with the hours - options to work a mix of morning, day or evening in a week. 28hrs per week (4hrs per day equivalent). 5 days minimum and open to long stays. If you are French the job will also i...

Accommodation is in the “blueberry cottage,' a self-contained flat that is across the lawn from our house. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining room, computer and wifi. I stock the kitchen with good ingredients and between those and the orchard goodies you assemble your own breakfast. We start at 830 and work for four hours. I make a big lunch at the house for everyone (lots of home made bread and cakes) and the afternoons/evenings are your own. I'll keep the larder stocked with whatever food you like, we don't eat much meat but can supply it. We have bikes for your use and are surrounded by wineries, or there's always a shady tree to nap under. Warning we do have insects, and in the summer picking time can't take helpers who are colourblind. For ease of booking we'd prefer if you can plan on coming and going on Mondays, one week minimum stay. We are a ten minute walk from the bus stop. Here's a little video on us, bit dated now but it'll give you the idea https://ww...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome - to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent, mature helpers who have work & life experience. I work at our local...

We are a friendly household with a bit of a chaotic lifestyle at times but really enjoy meeting people from other countries and are very flexible. We are an older couple who are currently not able to do much maintenance very easily around our property so we really value your help! I am not as mobile as I used to be after serious injuries in a car crash three years ago and I also have polymalgia. My husband has Parkinson's which means he can no longer do any practical work around the home. We greatly appreciate help with general maintenance including gardening, clearing weeds, firewood and household/backyard tasks as well as helping with my husband and two ponies. There is also a very sweet cat Cleo and a garden which is a bit of a jungle at times. Experience in using a weed-eater and a chainsaw would be helpful but not essential. If you like doing jigsaws and play chess that would be great as my husband has limited mobility and enjoys having someone do things with him. We ask for up t...

Hi, I am excited to be able to host again! I love living close to nature, co creating with my environment and doing my best to live with awareness. I enjoy simple things like food I have grown, good company, birdsong, swimming in the river, singing... I am an artist/musician and traveller. I like to do yoga and meditation most days. I am always happy to meet other travellers to share knowledge and life experience. As well as English I speak Italian. I now have a puppy living with me so it's helpful if you like dogs. Her name is Leia and she's very cute. I am looking for help on my property which I am developing as a nature retreat. It is a great place to re centre and recharge. It would suit people who are nature lovers who like being off the beaten track. There is no wifi or TV Sending and receiving texts is generally ok Phone reception maybe dependent on your phone or if the gods are happy! I enjoy meeting people from around the world to share knowledge, experiences, work and hope...

Hi we need help from 8th March onwards until end March. Then again from 20th April on wards. Looking for helpers wanting to stay 2weeks or possibly longer but we will consider shorter stays so do get in touch! Also looking for helpers wanting longer term. Someone with housekeeping experience is best for us but really anyone who is happy to help and likes cleaning 🙃 We are a family of 4, myself and my hubby and our two young daughters. We need daily help with housekeeping, cleaning and some occasional gardening (with me or my hubby so no gardening experience needed). Generally after a girl helper as our kids are more comfortable with that. Someone who is able to muck in with whatever we need and likes cleaning!! Only single helpers please we cannot take more than one person. We offer accommodation in our modern German caravan, with heating, wifi, meals (brekkie lunch items in caravan) and dinner helpers usually join us and have whatever we have as a family that evening. So s...

We are ceramic artists who live on our 1 hectare property about 20km inland from the beautiful Doubtless Bay area. We run our pottery business from home and look after our organic gardens, small orchard and numerous chickens. We have traveled widely ourselves and hosted travelers for over 10 years with another organisation, so are interested in HelpX for both the cultural exchanges and to be able to share our lifestyle with others while getting some help around the property. We are looking for enthusiastic helpers for help with things around the property such as gardening, wood collecting, cleaning, painting, general maintenance and other tasks depending on the season.

I am a retired medical herbalist growing plants for medicine, 3 km north of Coromandel town, we have medicinal herbs growing all around the farm. The work is mostly farm work looking after chickens, collecting chicken poo for the gardens, preparing garden beds for herbs, digging out Kahili ginger and privet along the Whangarahi River, mowing the grass, and mulching fruit and nut trees. On rainy days we clean the house, or strain out herbal tinctures. Minimum stay 2 weeks. We work 2 hrs/day, 9-11.am with 1 day off. This is work in return for accomodation, you provide your own food, (there is a communal kitchen for cooking) . Showers, laundry and Wifi available. there is a bicycle available to get to town, 3km away. Please email and let me know when you`re available, age and nationality, and what your skills are.
