Our place is located just ten minutes from La Ceja, Antioquia and an hour from Medellin. This charming town is known to have more bicycles than inhabitants and a great place to explore the beauty of the "oriente antioqueño". The work is diverse and we usually ask for about 4-5 hours of help per day. Normally we do three days of work and one day off. The days start with Agnihotra and Yoga and then a hearty breakftast. We offer accommodation and three meals a day. We love food and cooking, we enjoy spending time in the kitchen preparing healthy, delicious meals. If you like to cook, we are more than happy to taste your flavors! For now we ask for seven to ten days, or perhaps more depending on current projects. We are a small eco-hostel in the center of the south region of Colombia: Putumayo, which is considered the door of the Amazon jungle. The Area is rich in birds, butterflies and natural water sources. Sometimes monkeys are to be spotted. At the edge of the hostel you can enjoy 3 waterfalls and 2 different ponds where you can swim or sit and enjoy in the presence of nature. Its a very peacefull place. The hostel have 3 A-frames huts for 2 persons/each and plenty of space for camping. This is our beautiful farm - an ecological experiment practicing regenerative agriculture, trying also to motivate our neighbours and region, to (again) trust and work with organic farming tecnics. Our farm still having public transport access, is a great off-road experience while traveling through Colombia - our neighbours are all from the region cultivating coffee, sugar cane or holding cattle. There are buses going directly from Bogota to San Nicolas from where sometimes there is neighbour-transport, or you can hike or ask for a ride on a motorbike the last 4km to get to our farm. In San Nicolas there is the Cero de Tabor - a protected area for its richness in bird where you can do hikes, some neighbours are also open for horseback riding, or you can do a longer tour getting to know Puli, Armero or Murillo. We are a local peace and justice organization on the Caribbean coast of Colombia that has a farm used for organic production, educational purposes, and that we are developing as an eco-tourism project. We also do environmental education with children through two programs, School in the Forest and Talking with Snakes which is a theater program. We are in the tropical dry forest eco-system in the province of Sucre, just outside the city of Sincelejo. Our farm was once used for cattle grazing and much of it was over-grazed and degraded, but other parts still had some old trees. Since 2013, we have been protecting the native trees and planting more. The farm is now filled with trees. We have orange and lime trees, guanabananas, mangos, nisperos, and other tropical fruits. It used to be a train station, but the train stopped working around 50 years ago, so this place lost interest. I am trying to make this place a coworking space, or I don't know how to say it. It's just a nice chill place with good internet and great weather (sometimes it rains a lot; we are in the rainy forest). Other times, it's around 24 degrees Celsius. In the beautiful community Tierra de Agua, in the mountains near the village of Cocorná, 2 hours from Medelllin, is our homestay La Platanera. From a holistic vision, based on permaculture principles and ancestral wisdom and practices of the indigenous peoples, we take care of the land, grow vegetables, have various roles in the community life, and take care of the children.
