We are a family living near beautiful mountains and lake Hāwea. Blairnhall is a historic building and was built by Donald and Elsbeth McKlennan in 1872 when they settled here from Scotland. They gifted part of the land they purchased for St Ninnians Church and Hāwea Flat school to be built. They also baked bread for the community, as well as brewing various types of wines from the heritage trees they planted on the property. Some are incredibly still bearing fruit today!
