We are a young, relaxed family building our off-grid home and subsistence lifestyle on a 47-acre property in the heart of the Otways. Our family includes two daughters (seven and three) and a KelpieX doggie called Ten O'Clock (named by our daughter when she was two). Backing onto the Otway National Park, we offer helpers a beautiful location to explore the surrounding rainforests, waterfalls and coastal regions of South-Western Victoria (12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road/Walk, numerous waterfalls, hiking, beautiful beaches, etc.). In return for your help, we hope to share the skills and knowledge we've gained thus far in off-grid living, carpentry, gardening, composting, beer-making, sustainable living techniques, and local ecology. We hope to find helpers who are interested in assisting us to progress the build of our home, nurturing our garden and orchard, helping preserve our garden harvest, landscaping our outdoor bath area, building a chook shed, bush regeneration, developing forest w...

We live with our 3 young children on a farm just before Ngunguru on the famous Tutukaka Coast. Our property is 42 hectares filled with native bush, waterfalls, recent pine and manuka plantings, streams and pastures. There is lots to explore on our property and the surround coastlines. We have some cows, chicken and pigs on the wee plot, along with countless native birds. There is a free standing cottage on the property which is currently being tenanted, and currently a tiny house is being built on leased land in a corner of our property. Attached to the house is a guest bedroom and bathroom which gives you privacy and space. In exchange for meals and board, we would appreciate help on the farm with gardening, landscaping, weeding, planting natives and other projects we have on the farm. We can either do 4 hours help a day, or combine sessions, to have days off. Any experience with farming and horticulture would be appreciated but is not required. We have a million and one ideas and...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

We welcome travelers who would like to help out on a small farm near the surf breaks at Ahu Ahu Road. Its a 10 minute walk to the beach, and we have surfboards and bikes to loan. The accommodation is private and self contained, off grid and comfortably sleeps two people. Its best suited for a couple. The toilet is a short drop :) and you can either prepare your own meals or have dinner at the farm.house, which is about 300 m away. The view is beautiful and the location is tranquil. There are some great walks very nearby on the Kaitake mountain or along the coast.

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

We would prefer a group of three or four, sorry we are not hosting individuals at the moment as we would prefer groups. We are a family of four (however our 2 adult children are now living elsewhere), 2 cats and have bees. Accommodation comes with swimming pool which is usable during the summer. Our house is on 5500 square metres (1.3 acres) of land with half of that in bush, on the North Shore in Greenhithe overlooking, Whenuapai, Kumeu and the upper Waitamata Harbour. The main Greenhithe bus stop is about ten minutes walk away. By car, driving to the centre of Auckland takes about 15-20 minutes. We have a large a self-contained flat that includes one bedroom with a double bed, kitchenette, separate lounge (this doubles as the second bedroom) and bathroom and a separate entrance. We have a queen bed in the bedroom, and a double bed plus a single sofa (can be made up to a bed) in the lounge. We would prefer either; two couples however, a couple plus one would be okay as well. We have...

I own a 15 acre lifestyle farm overlooking the sea at Kuaotunu on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula. I have 6 Alpacas, 2 cattle, 1 cat and 1 dog. I would like help to care for the gardens, grounds, 2 glamping sites and animals. I offer 3 good meals and morning tea per day, and accommodation in a caravan, in return for 4.5 hours work per day that you are with me. If you wish to work a full day and have a full day off, I will do my best to accommodate that. The property has stunning close views of the sea and islands, a Pa site (a high hill where there was once a fortified Maori village)and is about 10-15 minutes walk down to the beach. Kuaotunu village is very small but is in a beautiful location with a general store and a very cool rustic beach shack style pizza restaurant - Lukes Kitchen - which has excellent wood fired pizzas and other food and often has live music in the summer. There is also a fabulous cafe - Kua Kawhe, with a great selection of food made on the premises - they m...

Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. I am looking for a couple of people (or one person) to stay at my place. While you are here you will be welcome to participate in our daily life, to learn about how Kiwis live. We have a large property with many apple trees, almond and peach trees, apricot and plum trees, plus lots of gardens. We have a warm, comfortable place for you to stay. It is very private and has pretty good wifi. It has a decent kitchen with a microwave + convention oven and a gas camping hob. There's a fridge freezer too. If you wish you can make your own meals and spend more time exploring the area. If you prefer to spend meal times with us to improve your English for example, and help out more in the garden more, that's ok too. We've had people stay while they kit out a van with a bed and cupboards etc., so if this is your plan, we have numerous tools that you are welcome to use. We have a couple of ebikes you are welcome to use, and our car is available sometimes too, especially if you are looking...

Aloha! My name is Javier Clark. I’m a Colombian 🇨🇴 and U.S. 🇺🇸 citizen originally from Maui, Hawaii.I discovered Colombia through my mother, who was Colombian. Even though she has passed away, I feel deeply connected to this country through her and through my own experiences. I fell in love with the incredible environment here, especially Tayrona National Park. Moving away from my family, friends, and beautiful Maui Hawaii to pursue my dreams as an entrepreneur in Colombia has been a big sacrifice. But every day I wake up surrounded by this beautiful nature, I feel grateful—and I know I took a chance worth taking. I joined HelpX to give others the opportunity to experience what I’m experiencing, even on a small budget. I want more people to explore this amazing region.I’m creating a motorcycle camping hostel and resort, now called Salvaje.Wild Ohana, a name that fits perfectly with the surroundings, location, and wildlife. My property is just next to the world-famous Tayrona Natio...

NB - just in case you don't get to the end of the profile - we are vegetarian (mostly) - and we don't take picky eaters. - or smokers. We are terracing a steep section (with an amazing view), developing a fernery and planting out an orchard and native hedges. There are fantails and keruru in abundance. Though the development is sometimes hard work, it`s creative and fun. We are getting there but we could do with a bit of help from strong fit people whose knees can handle walking up and down a steep garden - usually with a load on.. We also have work repairing and painting garden furniture. We prefer hosting a couple or 2 friends who are keen gardeners - or have carpentry or brick laying skills - to help with garden maintenance. We also have a couple of hard-landscaping projects involving path construction and maintenance. Ideally, we would like people who are able to work with minimal supervision, who take pride in their work and want to do a job well, who are self-motivated, have ...

We are a young, relaxed family building our off-grid home and subsistence lifestyle on a 47-acre property in the heart of the Otways.

Your Role & Contribution While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I need help with tasks that offset my paralysis, including: - Household Tasks – Light cleaning, keeping the kitchen tidy, and helping with laundry. - Personal Assistance – Bringing me food, water, and other necessities I can’t manage on my own. - Driving & Companionship – Taking...

23/09/25 - I'm looking for someone to start as soon as possible for a week or more. The main jobs at the moment are weeding, planting, log cutting & painting. The weather right now is amazing so a great time to be out in the garden! I live in a 5 bedroom house (a work in progress) with a large garden & lovely views. My son & daughter (age 24 & 23) also live locally & occasionally visit to help out. We need someone to help with the weeding, landscaping and other gardening when the weather is fine & do some housework and DIY when it's not (especially painting and cleaning). In return you'll have your own room, TV and WiFi and be well fed as we love cooking and baking! You will need to be fit & strong, like hard work & preferably know the difference between a weed & a (wanted) plant. A good dash of common sense will also go a long way. Must be a non smoker & I am afraid that I cannot host vegans. Either a single person or a couple is welcome. Helping hours would be around 4-5 h...
