Hi guys I am Frank from Germany, i lived here for nearly 20 years. We are an organic farm on a small, remote island in the Oki Islands, around 60 km off the coast of mainland Japan. Summer here is beautiful — the sea is never far away and there are plenty of opportunities to swim and enjoy the island — but we are first and foremost a **working farm**, and summer is one of our busiest times of the year. We grow around 10–15 different vegetables and herbs, as well as some fruit. Our produce is sold to local shops, restaurants and hotels, to people in the community, and increasingly to customers outside the island. We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. Kia ora, I am Dan. I live alone but often have people dropping in – I enjoy both my own space, and having people around. I work from home but often pop out for coffees or meetings. My place is old-style but comfortable. I have a spare room which can be yours. Home is ten minutes bike ride from town and shops so I hardly use my car. It's close to the Red Zone which is great for walks and the beach is not far either. I have a large fruit and vege garden – organic of course – so I eat something out of the garden every day. Things are getting busy in the garden and I am trying to tidy it up a bit. The house could do with some work too, if you are handy like that.
