Come and experience life on a working cattle, seed and hay property. We run 300 head of cattle on our 560 Ha home farm, set in a beautiful valley. Join in with us as we work around the property, including tasks such as mustering, stock work in the cattle yards, fencing and machinery and vehicle maintenance. Come and see what we do with the seed and hay we grow. You might like to have a go at cleaning and bagging grass seed or coming along for the drive when we deliver hay. We rely on 4WD motor bikes and tractors for many tasks and may take the time to train you how to use these safely. Apart from experiencing farm life, we look for help in our garden and vegetable garden, as well as odd jobs in and around the house. We take care to work with safety in mind at all times and take the time to explain safety to our guests. Travel insurance is recommended. We are a friendly family of three and enjoy sharing our home with visitors, especially at meal times. A separate and spacious guest are...

Welcome! I am Fern. I live together with my 3 year old daughter on our small, off grid and very humble farmlet in Guildford, Central Victoria. Guildford is home to one of Victoria's largest river red gums. It is over 500 years old. It's a very small town with only a general store, primary school & pub, half way between Castlemaine & Daylesford. We have been on this land for 1 and a half years & have started using permaculture principals & design. So far, we have completed the fence line, (to keep the rabbits out) & joyously have begun some planting both in the food forest, cottage garden & in the veggie patch. We always have seeds growing in our tiny greenhouse. Fern has a background in florist & plant nursery work and has completed a PDC. Currently a full time Mama, her interest lie in walking softly on this earth, while the little one loves watching the abundant birdlife in our vast open skies! I love kirtan and am busy immersing ourselves in the local community. There maybe a proj...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Updated Nov 2025 - Brisbane area - I haven't been around for a while, so different property - creek and nature all around - but, if you are scared of the realities of Oz bush, like spiders, it's not for you! You need to have your own camper, or be ok to be in a tent - there is room to have a van or similar parked in the driveway or down near the creek I only expect maximum 3 hrs per day as a swap; nothing exciting - just garden & house spring cleaning - but we do have a creek to relax in - you will see I have some good reviews, so most of my helpx folks have a great time - Happy for helpers to do 2 days in one, then have 1 full day off to go to the city or explore the area. If the garden needs help - remember this is Australia so if you are squeamish re spiders or such like, please don't apply! we are about 1/2 hr from Brisbane city - lots of beautiful nature walks - perfect for someone who wants to get back to nature ....:) Mature age very welcome - easy gig, very flexibl...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway., it is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper.I only take Non-smokers( meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well.) Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. We live in a peaceful botanical garden in the foothills of Kunanyi above Hobart/Nipaluna. We are located about 12 minutes drive by car from the centre of Hobart, 5 minutes walk to bus stop and the trailhead for a huge number of beautiful hiking tracks. Many helpers have climbed to the top of Kunanyi and back, this is your challenge!! I have orchard/vegetable/medicinal and culinary and medicinal herb garden & greenhouse and aim to use organic and permaculture principals. Right now the job is weeding forget-me nots and at pother times may include, gardening, fruit picking, maintenance, maintaining or building small structures, watering, clearing/pruning of dead or overgrown wood. Also we have many dry stone walls that would love some repair work if you have the patience, strength and skill. There is always deep cleaning and house work for those less inclined to be outside. We offer you accommodation and food to prepare your day time meals with shared evening meal when I'm at home in e...

After 16 years, and hosting almost 100 HelpXers, at our property in Larnook, in the Northern Rivers region, Steve and I have moved to a new place in Tenterfield, at the northern end of the New England Tableland. All of our reviews up until September 2024, are related to our previous place. We are now ready to accept HelpXers at our new place. Steve and I are a gay couple and we offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Tenterfield, the more you will get out of it. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, establishing herb and vege gardens, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated a few kilometers west of the town of Tenterfield, in a quiet, rural area. We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (for checking emails, looki...

🏡 Stay in a Unique Wildlife Sanctuary near Currumbin Beach – Help with Gardening, House Projects & More I’m Deborah, and I live in a peaceful bushland home on the ridge in Elanora, on the beautiful Gold Coast (Southeast Queensland). The property is part of a koala sanctuary — wallabies regularly visit the backyard, and if you’re patient, you might spot a koala in the treetops. You’ll definitely hear them at night! Despite the natural setting, we’re only a 5-minute drive from Currumbin Beach and close to local shopping centres, bushwalks, weekend markets, and iconic surf spots. 🌿 About the Stay: I’ve recently moved back into my home and am still getting everything properly set up after a long and difficult few years dealing with insurance and rebuilding. The house is a work in progress — but a beautiful one — and helpers have always been welcome here. Sleeping arrangements currently include inflatable bedding, and there are still some basic household things being sorted out. Most gu...

My husband, Tony, and I are very happy to offer self-contained accommodation for short stays of one or two weeks for a couple or two friends (any genders) who would like to explore the beautiful Yarra Valley or who are in between jobs (Often longer stays are possible depending on whether we have family coming to stay and using the studio.) Our property, Lavender Farm, is about 6 kilometers from the small tourist town of Healesville in the Yarra Valley. The Yarra Valley is wine-growing region at the foot of the Great Dividing Ranges. It is about 1 hour by car from Melbourne. We have a lemon orchard, vegetable garden, and horse paddocks. We are not a commericial lavender farm although we have a lot of lavender growing in the gardens. There are some rescue horses (not rideable) and a pony , chickens, family dogs and a swimming pool (which is mainly usable November-March given Melbourne weather). Our daughters are grown up and living in Melbourne so we normally just see them on ...

We are new to this platform but have been on workaway for about 6 years. We (My partner Ruby and me (Ross) and our 4 y/o Harriet) live on a little property in Central Victoria about 2 hours from Melbourne. We have been here for 7 years and are slowly chipping away at different projects from house fix ups to garden projects. Ross's background is in horticulture and landscape design and construction so we are putting in a lot of effort to the gardens. He also teaches a couple of days a week online. Ruby is a social worker, she works 4 days per week. Our 4 y/o daughter Harriet loves craft, games and playing doctors and dress ups. We also have two gorgeous/ energetic dogs and chickens. Our place is set on the edge of a creek on about 4 acres of land at the bottom of a ridge. We have an old tavern from around 1860 (now a house), a fairly new studio and a bungalow, caravan and workshops on our property. Ruby and I are both vegetarians and really like food! We are a 5 minute drive the cl...

We enjoy the company of young people from other cultures and we have already learned a lot from hosting some amazing helpers who have returned several times. . So far we have hosted helpers from 18 different countries and it has been such a delight to get to know delightful young people from a wide range of places. . We need help in managing a 6000 sq meter block with a garden that needs a lot of work and quite a big house that needs cleaning. Offering comfortable accommodation in a natural environment in exchange for general help with mainly outdoor projects - tell us your skills and interests and we'll probably have a project to match! Looking for help year round, happy to offer one to two weeks at a time with longer stays possible after we've got to know each other a little. Your own vehicle is essential as we do not have any public transport routes available. Us: We are a relaxed couple who enjoy the quiet life - Al is retired and spends most days pottering - always plenty of jobs around the place; and Vicki works 3 days/week from home, when she's away from her desk you'll most likely find her in the veggie garden or the kitchen. We enjoy lots of "homesteading" activities including breadmaking and preserving, herbal medicine, soap making and general crafts. Al is trying to learn the didgeridoo and hoping to have more time for painting and drawing and Vicki wants to improve her French language skills. We both love...

Looking for someone to start in mid December. Hi, I’m a single father of two living in Baudin Beach a small seaside town located 12km from Penneshaw which is the entry point to Kangaroo Island. I have shared custody of my children, my 11 year old son is with me 3 or 4 days a week and my 3 year old daughter who I have most weekends. I owned a Backpackers for about 5 years and had great experiences there with helpx helpers so I have decided to do a home stay as I’m overwhelmed with the work I have to do around the house. Baudin Beach is a small coastal town with about 200 residence, there are no shops close by but there are Kangaroos that often hop by and the beach is about a 5 minute walk from the house. Penneshaw is the closest town with a Pub, post office, supermarket and a few cafe's. There are lots of tourist spots on the island that I can show you and I'm happy to take you on a full day tour of the island in exchange for some extra work, this will also depend on how long you sta...

We are an Australian White sheep farm (with a few cattle) on the volcanic plains of Victoria just north of the regional centre of Ballarat, adjoining Mount Beckworth, a large State Park/Scenic Reserve.. The property has been in our family for over 160 years and we are the fifth generation to live and work here. Prior to taking over the farm, we worked in education for many years. As well as the livestock, we also run a Farmstay operation, with guests staying most weekends. We are located six kilometres from the historic village of Clunes, which was the first town established during the goldrush era in Victoria in the mid-19th Century. We are one and a half hours' drive from central Melbourne and there is a regular, frequent train service between Melbourne and Ballarat, and daily to Clunes. We are located in an attractive area in the Central Highlands of Victoria, with a number of historic, attractive villages and towns nearby, as well as parks and reserves, cafes, galleries, winer...

*** Available from February 1st 2026 *** *** Just a quick visa heads-up!... Immigration rules have tightened a bit lately — sometimes even helping out in exchange for a place to stay can be seen as “work,” which might technically need a visa that allows it. Most guests have never had a problem, but it’s smart to check the latest rules and think about how you describe your plans at the border. Just something to keep in mind! *** We are a small family - two parents and a 10 year old boy. We also have a couple of very friendly cats and some fish. Our place is 5 minutes walk from the centre of Fremantle, 7 minutes cycle to South Beach and close to all amenities. Fremantle is a great transportation hub and has an amazing live music, cafe and arts scene. Our house is 110 years old with high ceilings and a chilled out vibe in a friendly street close to Wray Ave. We are enthusiastic vergeside collectors who try to salvage things from other people's rubbish before it reaches landfill and t...

Currently looking for Helpers Prefer Helpers over 25 (non smokers) Hi my name is Anthony and I live in Red Hill with my son Louis. We are located on the Mornington Penninsula just over an hour (by road) from Melbourne. Rolling hills dotted with vineyards and surrounded by the sea, this region is one of Melbournian's most popular "weekend getaway" destinations. Wake up to the singing birds in a log cabin set amongst the tree tops, boarded by an organic apple orchard and fringed by forest. Home to friendly and colourful native bird life and visited by a family of cheeky possums each night. Lovely walks to restaurants, markets and our general store. I have too many projects to handle by myself as I care for my 9 year old most weekends and some nights during the week. The projects are varied and include; clearing vegetation, maintaining the organic vegetable garden, planting native trees and shrubs, splitting wood (by machine), building a wood fired oven, setting up chicken coup, ...

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them.

Hello! As I have little children, I’m only interested in Solo female travellers only. We are a family of four; a 6 year old boy and 1 year old boy, partner is working and I’m at home alone with the children with too much to keep up with. I currently homeschool my bigger boy using an eclectic approach and nature based learning. We live in a beautiful location close to Rockingham Foreshore. Nearby is Penguin Island in Shoalwater, opportunities for kayaking, kite surfing, fishing and beach swims, close to Point Peron Marine Park for snorkelling with fish, dolphins and sea lions, 30 minutes drive to Mandurah Foreshore and it’s attractions including discovering the amazing Giant Sculptures hidden in nature spots plus there are lots of restaurants in both Rockingham and Mandurah. We are 1.3km to the pristine Warnbro beach, 2.1km to Warnbro Shopping Centre, 1.2km to the gym and swimming pools and there are bus stops on Warnbro Sound Avenue plus Warnbro train station. I am looking f...

I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house.,such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

We are 10 minutes from Byron and we can see the famous Byron lighthouse from our front balcony. Our house has views and a pool and spa as well as a media room, all of which, we share with you. If you are over 25, we may be able to lend you a small Toyota Yaris which is registered for free Byron Bay parking. You can use it for short trips into Byron and but you will need to work out how to share the car and petrol costs if we have several helpers staying.

Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...
