On the 25th of August Lydia is going to visit her family, who she hasn't seen for 35 years, for 2 months. That leaves Alan on his own for 2 months and he would dearly love some company and assistance. If 1 or 2 of you lovely people would like to keep him company, please let us know. I have a vacancy from the 4th September until 25th of October, so if you would like to come anytime between those dates, please let me know as soon as you can. In addition to everything else, I would love someone who knows how to use Light Room and or Photoshop and would be happy to teach me. Hey good people, we would love 1 or 2 people to come and give us a hand. We are Alan and Lydia, a middle-aged couple being as self-sufficient as we can be. Solar power, rainwater, organic gardens, chickens, quail, 8 bee hives, 2 friendly dogs. The cooler weather is here and it's time to start getting things done. Like gardening, building more chicken pens, harvesting honey, some fencing (not much) hanging a couple of...

I’m currently looking for some help for a week or two as of the 2nd August . Needing help with the garden… mowing, sweeping, hedging and gardening, trimming back. Cleaning the air bnb, cleaning windows and tiles, bathrooms, kitchen and living area would also be helpful.Washing and vacuuming my car would also be good. I’d like 2 hours a day work. You will have your own king bed and tv ( Netflix) and internet and own bathroom and toilet in a large house by the canal only 3 kms from the beach. You will have your own kitchen laundry area to use and fridge of your own. There is a pool for use in summer if air bnb folk not staying. There’s only myself here with air bnb guests from time to time in a separate part of the house. Happy to show you the area. Would love it if you could cook a meal or two. Happy to cook and share some evening meals with you. I can speak french and a little German ( bit rusty) ….would prefer a young lady or a young couple.

I, Christine, (63) am living with my daughter Bess (23) on an urban block. I am maintaining the vegetable garden and the house by myself. I occupy with her one of the three buildings on the property. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 public parks surrounding us and we are close to the Mary River. There are lots of kangaroos to observe in these parks. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay. I love to cook and have good conversations around the dinner table.. I offer for single or couple a bedroom with bathroom. Since we are on tank water I respectfully ask visitors to be water conscious when showering. The tasks: Depending on the season the vegetable garden needs topping up soil and mulch, weeding, some trimming of hedges, some maintenance on the house like painting some areas outside (wooden Queenslander), maintaining the gutters and cleaning various areas. Depending on your skills there are more complex tasks available. To spell it out aft...

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

Seven years ago, Tim and I moved to our little farm, and we've been busy ever since; growing a garden, planting trees, and learning how to care for the land. We joined Landcare to better understand the local trees and wildlife, especially the ones that need a bit of extra protection. Tim is a retired engineer and has a knack for designing and building, so he’s been having a great time working on the infrastructure around the property. As for me, I’m a creative arts teacher and public health practitioner. I still teach both online and on campus at an Australian university, balancing my work with farm life. One of my biggest passions here is my rose garden with 400 fragrant bushes, and I'm dreaming of making rose water and rose oil one day. We’ve also got a thriving organic fruit and veggie garden, with plenty of fruit trees and a mix of seasonal vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies, and we’re just a short stroll from the Murray River, perfect for a bit of fishing. I lo...

After 25 years of doing this I've decided to limit the people I will accept. Potential helpers must have comprehensive knowledge of what they are doing. No first timers. I no longer have the patience to train people. I think it's a bit of 'grumpy old man syndrome'. ABSOLUTELY,No smoking or vaping on the property at all. No exceptions. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT FOLLOWED THIS GUIDELINE. I prefer to breathe clean air. NO SMELLY, PERFUMED SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, BODYWASH SUNSCREENS OR DEODORANTS PLEASE, I CAN SUPPLY ALTERNATIVES. How about heading south to the most beautiful part of Australia? Or if you are already in Tasmania, that's a bonus. We are always welcoming and love to show off our stunning island home. Work would involve getting the garden ready for planting this Spring and other various farm jobs. Nothing too hard or difficult. I'd like some help clearing and establishing some walking tracks through the forest on the property. I prefer people with experience i...

Require a helper from mid August. A confident canoeist would be greatly appreciated this time if river conditions allow aquatic life (fish, platypus, etc) surveying in a nearby river recently severely damaged by floods. I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 33 years. Driven by strong a curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details go to ' https://keithabishop.wixsite.com/living-growing-data ' ). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5 km from Smiths Lake; 30 km south of Forster). Love to host a strong guy or 2 that have some gardening/farming experience and/or has carpentry skills that's keen to help out around the property and also spend some boating trips, catching barramundi, crocodille spotting, trolling the islands and snorkeling...July/august/september is our main time to enjoy time on the water as its the Humpback whale and fish migration season so we would prefer folks that have an interest in boating/fishing and happy to tie their own fishing knots and set the anchor and dont get sea-sick.... Volunteers can use their time here to sign off for 7 days a week towards their 88 days 2nd or 3rd year visa sign off and we have helped many backpackers secure a second/third year visa as we are registered primary producers in the correct postcode for "disaster relief",. Would like to learn and look after a vineyard, distillery and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. It is situated in the Swan Valley, 7km from Elenbrook and 15km from the Perth airport. The vineyard has 3,000 vines, a large house we live in, a machinery shed, and a winery/distillery on the property. Winemaking occurs during the summer months from January to March. A large, spacious room has a double bed attached to the house with a private entrance. Applications for couples or two people are open now. Opportunities for pruning will be available in July. Couples with Visitor visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking) volunteers who wish to experience distillery, vineyard, and winemaking work. During the season, there are generally outdoor activities, such as winery and vine work, plus gardening if it is not raining or too hot. Be prepared to cook ...

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three active children, two horses, many chickens, and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience email us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve second year visas)

We have a property located within walking distance of Fremantle centre near the river , grocery stores and public transport as well as a local coffee strip. You would have the whole house self-contained with kitchen and bathroom. The helping exchange arrangement would be helping with repairs, landscaping and, now, painting etc. Fremantle cottage is on quarry street if you want to check location. It would be useful if you have had some experience with painting and renovatio as we are trying to bring a property in for a sale this year We also have a beach house south of Fremantle and you could have an opportunity to stay there for trips to the islands, surfing and fishing. 2 hours a day would be fine and although food is not provided shopping is handy. Note: you would have the whole house to yourself so we are seeking someone who is reliable and trustworthy.

Hello! Thank you for reading our profile. Guy, myself and our dog Ava would love to welcome you to our home and community up here in Far North Queensland. A place like no other. At the northern edge of the Daintree rainforest, adjacent to the pristine waters of Wallaby Creek (safe for swimming) and surrounded by excellent bush walks, visitors can enjoy numerous activities. Located only a few kilometres north is the Lions Den Hotel, which features live bands during the tourist season and offers a unique experience. The southern route through the Daintree to Port Douglas showcases breathtaking coastal scenery. I'm Julie and my partner Charles and we are an older (in age) couple living the dream and have a small slice of heaven in the Tweed Caldera surrounded by a lot of Australia's wildlife. Our place is 26km inland from Murwillumbah. It's a 45 minute drive from Gold Coast airport, just over the Queensland border. We are 900kms north of Sydney. It is a 1 hour 20 minute flight to Gold Coast (OOL). From Sydney to Murwillumbah by bus takes 15 hours. When not working we travel to SE Asia and bush walk our local area. We are both accepting of all and our mantra is 'Peace, Love and Understanding'. There are no rigid helping hours or conditions. Jobs are dependent on weather conditions and what needs to be done at that time and what helpers would like to get involved with. Julie is multi skilled and talented in lots of areas. Conversation is never dull! Charles was born in Scotland and lived in Canada before coming to Australia. He also has a wide range of interests and skills. You name it,...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

Looking for someone to start in mid August. Hi, I’m a single father of two living in Baudin Beach a small seaside town located 12km from Penneshaw which is the entry point to Kangaroo Island. I have shared custody of my children, my 10 year old son is with me 3 or 4 days a week and my 2 year old daughter who I have most weekends. I owned a Backpackers for about 5 years and had great experiences there with helpx helpers so I have decided to do a home stay as I’m overwhelmed with the work I have to do around the house. Baudin Beach is a small coastal town with about 200 residence, there are no shops close by but there are Kangaroos that often hop by and the beach is about a 5 minute walk from the house. Penneshaw is the closest town with a Pub, post office, supermarket and a few cafe's. There are lots of tourist spots on the island that I can show you and I'm happy to take you on a full day tour of the island in exchange for some extra work, this will also depend on how long you stay....

We are fully booked until at least mid August, depending on how things go. We are normally looking for two types of helpers: firstly one or two good wood workers / carpenters / DIY handymen/women capable of working effectively on your own or as a pair. Most of the work is outside but based out of a well-equipped woodworking workshop. Secondly we may be looking for someone to help with housekeeping and cooking and gardening. Plenty of opportunities on your day off, if you have interests in fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course. We are establishing a modest permaculture garden with heritage breed chickens, their mixed offspring, Muscovy ducks and a range or of tropical fruit, vegetables and herbs. We have recently started making and using biochar, rearing soldier-fly larvae for chickens, starting oyster mushroom growing (that has stalled after a wet season failure!) and are starting to grow various high-nutritional-value microgreens. We live next to a very q...

I run an accommodation business that has two self contained accommodations and my house, all on half a hectare. We have a vegetable garden, orchard, chickens and a lot of grass to mow. We are proximate to some beautiful bush walks (just around the corner from the Grand Canyon, Walls Cave and Evans Lookout). Blackheath is a great place for rock climbing. We are easy going household with a passion for good food ), walking, building and gardening. We are non smokers and prefer if you are too. I also live my midweek weekends on a boat which is moored in the most beautiful part of Pittwater. If you have experience with boats I’d be keen to hear from you. It is a eighty year old, timber Tasmanian Cray boat which is in survey, is run on a 12 volt system and is charming. It is also 13 metres or 43 feet long. In the mountains you will have your own room which is proximate to a good bathroom with a spa bath to enjoy after a day in the garden or a long bush walk. Or a studio in the back yard. ...

Go to ' https://keithabishop.wixsite.com/natural-coast-stay ' to glimpse the accommodation, typical wor...

Fish and home grown tropical vegetables form the basis of our diet during this tme of year so this adventure may not be for everyone.....

We invite you to join us on your days off to explore our hills and discover many amazing places that are typically known only to locals. In December 2023, our region experienced significant flooding, marking the largest regional flood in recorded history.
