Here is some info about volunteering at EarthSpirit: First off, we are not a community although there are 8 people living on site + David the owner and myself. The house keeping, maintenance, office team and kitchen helpers come to work during the day. We have a vegetable garden, a small orchard and a few hens (chickens). And a lot of residential groups coming and going. We are hosting the groups; providing food and accommodation. We are not participating in the events, we only work at making their stay smooth and welcoming. The work of a volunteer often consists of clearing the kitchen after the group’s meals. This includes doing dishes, cleaning the dinning room, the kitchen, but also work in the garden such as weeding, planting, and watering. Sometimes there is also sanding, painting, helping with turn arounds in between groups, making beds, cleaning bathrooms. We usually ask the volunteers to take their meals (vegetarian) from the main group kitchen. This consists of Breakfast,...

Please contact us if you are interested in joining us from the end of August/beginning of September to help look after our wonderful animals. We are now fully booked until the end of August. Ideally we need someone who can come on 28th August. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, a post office and a small shop AND excellent WiFi. We are not near a ...

Hi everyone! Available May - October. Minimum age 25. We prefer couples, but will consider singles, especially if DIY/gardening skills are involved! ABOUT US: We're a couple, in our early 60s. Healthy, active and young at heart. We've travelled all our adult lives, done loads of helpx-type placements (mainly in NZ, UK, Thailand and SA), and we've been self-employed for almost all of our working lives (teaching, music festival boutique, and Julie is still a professional horse trainer). We have eased-off now but still seem to be pretty busy. We love being active and involved, (yoga, karate, mtb, horse training, tennis, walking, running, exploring), and we love hosting on Helpx - it's a great way to keep meeting new people, keep learning new stuff, and getting help with other stuff! We offer abundant healthy food, and a really lovely, clean, comfy, sweet home with a good vibe. There's lots to see and do locally. WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO ATTRACT: Over 25 yrs of age. DIY, semi-skil...

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, sheep and a dog. (See photos below of a recent volunteer with one of our lambs and also help-xers cleaning out the pond!) We would like help with woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! There may occasionally be some work with our sheep and sometimes looking after our adorable dog! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal. We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will see fr...

Current availability is from now until the end of June. Then from September onwards. Message me for a chat 🙂 Hello! How are you? My name is Andy and I've been hosting people for years now with Helpx and other organisations. If you are seeking a true cultural exchange, want to really improve your English to a more advanced level and you are a person with high expectations of yourself or want to be around people who also want to help you, then please read on. I appreciate spending my time with people who like me want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who are usually self-transparent, with whom I have common interests, who care about others, and like me want to continually learn more about themselves. I have learned a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues. I am a well-educated person who believes life is a continual learning experience. I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good movie and ...

Hi Helpers, I run a high quality dinner, bed & breakfast from our home, in the Scottish Highlands. The BnB has a reputation for providing luxurious, elegant accommodation and excellent food. I operate a 54 foot polytunnel which provides us with veg and salad for our business and family. We have a stretch of foreshore onto Loch Melfort, some native woodland and number of fields and paddocks around the house which provide grazing to livestock. I have two children (21 & 26) who are away from home but occasionally make an appearance at weekends and holidays, and dogs. I need 1 or 2 people (a couple or friends) to help me - preferably for a 2+week stay. Our helpers need to have good English to converse with our guests. I need people who are happy to be flexible and prepared to help with the garden & polytunnel, dog walking and house keeping. In return, we can offer private, spacious accommodation, all food, laundry and WIFI. I am surrounded by beautiful hills, forests & lochs - a...

Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland! And welcome to a quiet smallholding on the journey towards self sufficiency! My name's Kris, I have been hosting now for many years and have enjoyed the help and presence of like-minded people from around the world. Many friendships have been formed and from the comments I have received, it's been a good life experience for the people who have stayed. It is a beautiful place but to help you get a feel, I’ll try to describe the place in as much detail as I can. All I ask is you read my whole profile and if it sounds good, let me know why you want to visit. I am interested in you, but I do not look for specific skills, I'm more keen to know what appeals to you about my little home. I value the help you bring so I want to make sure what I have to offer is of value to you. I have lived here now for more than 20 years, I raised my son here and have had many couch surfers and helpxers passing through. Now I live alone here, although not comp...

Help with our nature-based, off-grid healing retreat on the Blackdown Hills, East Devon/Somerset UK We're looking for someone, possibly a couple, ideally looking for a longer placement of 1-months+, who enjoys working outside, is happy working with me, is motivated working on their own and, has a broad manual skills set around building. Satori is a stunning rural location, full of nature. As a retreat, there are not always people to 'hang out' with so, you'll need to be ok keeping your own company. It's a great place to let go of the outside world. That said, I'm around most days and, if you want to integrate somewhat in to my life, you'll be welcome to join me on walks, explore the local area, meet my friends etc. I strive to make things happen at least once a week. I'm also fine if you'd rather get on and do your own thing. That said, it would be good to share at least one meal a week together, hopefully more!!...and share cooking. Basically, I'm open minded and quite easy going...

Thank you for reading our host listing. We are looking for a volunteer from now onwards. We are a Buddhist Centre run by a dedicated team of volunteers who aim to create an oasis of peace which is accessible for all members of the community. We offer a range of meditation classes and courses which are designed to help people to find inner peace and contentment and solve their human problems and to learn more about Buddhism. On the ground floor of our building, we run a Community Cafe which serves vegetarian food including home made cakes and soups and offers a place where people can take time out of their busy lives and relax. Buddha Land is located in Keighley, a bustling multicultural town, which is situated between the famous Bronte Moors in Haworth (3 miles away),the beautiful Yorkshire Dales (Skipton, Gateway to the Dales is 20 mins on the train), picturesque Hebden Bridge (40 minute bus journey) and Saltaire (World Heritage Site) is 15 mins on the train. Our farm consists of 88 acres; all permanent pasture (except a small wood and kitchen garden). WE farm livestock - about 200 sheep, about 20 Devon cattle, some poultry and a retired sow. We are licenced by the Soil Association and follow their organic standards. We sell our produce in the local Ilfracombe Farmers' Market and on line. Our sheep flocks are kept for the production of lamb and mutton, and also wool, knitting yarn and felted "sheepskins". Our cattle herd is registered with the Devon Cattle Breeders' Society and consists of pedigree polled Red Ruby Devons. They are mainly sold as pedigree breeding stock but we occasionally have a steer killed for beef. We have planted a small orchard of fruit trees, mainly apples, cider apples, pears and perry pears. We have also recently re-introduced beekeeping to our activities and currently have three beehives. Our general aim is to farm in a humane and sustainable way, restore and maintain the traditional landscape features of ...

Hi there and thanks for reading our profile. We have availability in May 2024 and September 2024 but we are full in June, July and August. We take helpers for a minimum stay of one month. We have had very few offers of help from HelpX historically (and hence no reviews!) as we've previously used Workaway (now not available to us due to Brexit ggggrrrr!) and we currently also use Wwoof. So if you'd like to see some reviews then you can see them here https://wwoof.org.uk/en/host/35849 During your stay with us you will be be helping us looking after the horses, weeding, compost making, dry stone wall repairing, tree planting and doing tree maintenance, and planting seeds ready for the growing season, maybe also cooking and some cleaning of our Airbnb and possibly furniture restoration! It depends a lot on the weather! There's always something to do but plenty of free time to go exploring or you can stay in, learn how to spin or knit or read a book by the log burner. Currently looking for helpers We are a small family, a dad and two lads. I’m Barny and my two sons age 12 and 7 We live completely off grid in the Eden valley, on the side of the Pennines “area of outstanding natural beauty” and looking across to the Lake District national park. We live in a cabin and sleep in wagons, that I’ve either built or renovated both a showmans wagon and Gypsy caravans. We have horses, chickens, a cat,, a dog and sometimes other animals.. There’s a garden where we grow vegetables. It’s a beautiful place, 4.5 acres with semi ancient woodland and a stream running through it. It is fairly remote, although there is a village 1km away, there are no shops for several miles. I run a small business which offers horsedrawn holidays and adventures. As well as stationary Gypsy caravans, more tramping than glamping... I am looking for someone who would be interested in staying here, (the accommodation would be a Gypsy caravan) and helping around the place with gener...

We offer a busy and fun atmosphere, with lots of HORSES -- so it will help if you can ride! We always appreciate a helping hand in our small family-run horse riding holiday business, which we run from a traditional Welsh farm nestled in a secret valley in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. We have approximately 45 Welsh cobs, most of which are bred here on the farm, and we host guests here in our B&B, so there's plenty to keep us busy. We are looking for people to help out with everything that we do, so it's a real mix of outside and inside work, looking after horses and looking after our guests. Our guests are lovely, and come from all over the world, and you'll find it a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. Everyone is pleased to be here, and really positive. Horse work includes mucking out, sweeping the yard, cleaning tack, exercising horses, handling horses - there's always something to do! You'll definitely need to like animals, even if you don't have direct experience with horses. G...

Devon - We would love some help with the garden, clearing, weeding, strimming and mowing, tidying, tending our vegetable garden, chopping firewood, fencing, general repairs. Helping with chickens. Some house cleaning on wet weather days. Sometimes the work outside can be quite heavy so you must be strong and fit, and willing to work in all weathers! We live in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a retired couple but still run our musical instrument repairs business and we are always in need of some help. We love to play traditional folk music in local pubs and also for morris dancing. We live in an old cottage in a village with a coffee shop and a pub. We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical. We have 2 ‘rescue’ dogs - a friendly terrier and a Romanian street dog who takes a little while to get used to new friends. We anticipate help for approx 5 hours per day, with a 15 min tea break, so overall 2...

Beautiful Devon farm with about 80 cows and 20 horses. We need help with animal care, fixing fences, cleaning stables, general farm help. In the past we had over 100 horses including national champions, but the owners are getting on in years and have downsized. We prefer helpers who'd like to stay a few weeks or more. Opportunity to learn about animal care and farming. Grass-based farming with happy, friendly animals kept outside except when bad weather prevents it. Learn about mares, stallions, cows, calves, and bulls. Riding available only for experienced and confident riders if you wish to stay for a few weeks or more. There is no one to teach riding lessons and the horses are high spirited, sensitive Arabians and not appropriate for beginners or short term visitors. Accomodation for a horse can also be offered to the right person. We have many bridleways through stunning woods and hacks through a picturesque English village with thatched roofs as well as an indoor school for trai...

Hello, thank you for looking at our listing. **We are especially looking for people with carpentry and building skills but plenty of garden and organising work if you're unskilled.** We are Cathy (45) and Leo (who is 12 years old.) We live in a lovely, but messy little cottage in a very beautiful glen. Unfortunately at the moment there's several issues with the plumbing so please do not apply if you need a twice daily hot shower! We like to have several helpers so friends are welcome to apply, alternatively we are happy to take single travellers - but please be aware you may need to share a sleeping area with other helpers (who we will ensure are the same sex and similar age to you.) The accommodation is extremely basic, the house is in disarray and I currently resemble a headless chicken for much of the day! Only apply if you are comfortable with untidiness and disorder. However, despite this you will have fun, be well fed and happy. The gardens and surrounding countryside are...

Hello! I am looking for someone to help me clear out my garden shed and attic. Also a bit of weeding. And I have to clean my extension floor too which is a hard job that I only do a few times a year. I am looking for a guy - sorry for the specificity but it is me, my two daughters aged 10 and 15, and my 18 yo son, so it is to balance out the energy for my son! (Even the dog is a girl) Your room is in the attic. It's a lovely room (I used to airbnb it) and you will have a nice sofa-bed. Oh, but it won't suit someone tall, as the walls are sloping! I am a writer so I am working in the house quite a lot. We are an easy-going, arty, musical, household. If that sounds as if it would suit you - come stay! I'm looking for four hours help a day with weekends off. We all have dinner together most nights, otherwise help yourself to food. Fairly often I go away for the weekend/night and the father of my children comes in to stay. We live in South East London zone 2 in a quiet leafy cons...

Living in a quiet rural location outside Inverness I require occasional help in gardening. I have a productive vegetable and fruit garden that supplies me with much of my nutrition. I follow organic gardening methods and my diet is mostly whole food and plant-based. Work is varied and could include: seed sowing, planting, weeding, pruning, watering, harvesting, grass cutting, cutting hedges, painting sheds, food preparation and cooking, tidying garden, cutting firewood. Work time: flexible and negotiable. My van can only carry 1 passenger. You will occupy your own bedroom but share kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. You will share cooking and household chores. I shall supply food. I am also able to cater for vegans, ostrovegans, pescatarians, and fregans. Experience in gardening/horticuture/pemaculture is desirable. i would prefer to host initially for short periods of 1 to 3 weeks and not to commit too far ahead in time. I may be able to accept a Helper at short notice and at any time ...

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. Freedom loving and awake household. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days p/week. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivat...

There are skills that can be learnt here which will be useful. Such as experience in customer service skills you will also improve on English skills if this is needed The person i am looking for must be very neat and clean I am looking for someone who is willing to commit to at least a minimum of 4 weeks or 3 months and also keep to the time agreed and not break the staying time half way through.

Single females or couples only. Profiles must have photographs and replies initially through the Helpx web site. I have removed my phone numbers but will supply when contact made and visit arranged. Strictly non smokers Helping hours are flexible (10 hours a week) that could be split over a few days to give you time to explore the surrounding area if you require accommodation only or 20 hours a week with board included. We are a family with three boys (15, 13 and 11) based in beautiful Somerset. We live in a house which is currently undergoing renovation. We have chickens, 2 dogs and 2 cats. We hope to have someone who will enjoy spending time with three fun boys and can help with jobs around the house which may vary from gardening to painting to basic housework to fencing to walking the dogs! There is a bus from Wincanton (5 mins away) to London and lots of places to explore nearby for example Stourhead and Stonehenge (40 mins away by car).
