This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic. Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We’re a mature couple who work in the city and live on a small farm - a peaceful retreat from the urban rush. Our companions are a few horses and dogs. Most of them came to us from the rescued shelter and in poor condition. With time, care, and patience, we’ve helped them heal. Our farm isn’t a commercial venture; it’s simply a quiet, cozy place to live close to nature. We’re looking for a reliable helper - someone who’s interested in staying with us long-term. What we offer: - Private accommodation in a converted sea container, fully equipped with a gas stove, shower, refrigerator, and other essentials. - Groceries provided - you prepare your own meals. - Free internet access (limited). We can also offer guidance and support with the residency application process for those who wish to stay long-term. If you’re over 25, love animals, enjoy farm life, and consider yourself hardworking, responsible, and adaptable - we’d be happy to welcome you. ...

We are learning and exchanging ideas about Permaculture and self sustainability. Our farm is situated in a Natural Reserve area called Bananal, located 18km away from the beaches of Perube - SP. Here we have begun our project. Using the idea behind observing and working with what is natural and unique to this landscape we are learning to grow local plants and fruit trees, as well as understand the forestation of the area, to best work with the land to support us and our animals. Currently we are growing orchards of multiple fruit trees, such as jack-fruit, papaya, starfruit, goiaba, bananas, coffee, cacao, and limes to name a few, as well as vegetables in our garden. We are using the concept of building green, by using local materials found on the land, such as different varieties of woods, bamboo and clay. We have switched most of our toilets over to the dry toilet system in order to make less of an environmental impact and use the compost to make fertilizer. Using the animal ma...

# Welcome to Hilo Rojo – Volunteer in Peru Hilo Rojo is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 in the city of Trujillo, Peru. Our project was created after witnessing the inequalities affecting many children and families in our community, including limited access to quality education, school dropout, domestic violence, teenage pregnancy and poverty. Since then, we have been working to provide educational support, social assistance and new opportunities for children, teenagers and families living in vulnerable situations. We are located in **La Esperanza**, one of the largest and most disadvantaged districts of Trujillo. We chose to work here because we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children can learn, develop their talents and gain confidence while being supported by people who believe in their potential. ## Why volunteer with us? Please take notice : Volunteers very welcome again for all kinds of jobs. Starting second half of September 2026! Ours is a small property of around 2 has extension of arable land, at the moment the largest part is used for animal forages (mainly corn and alfalfa). In a smaller part, we are implementing organic vegetables, herbs and other crops. Some years ago we established a fruit orchard (apples and peaches), which we are currently trying to diversify. We hope this can be our main activity in the future. We also built two small greenhouses where we plant mainly tomatoes and lettuce, also diversifying now (blueberries). Recently we established a tiny forest, that requieres a lot of attention. There are a lot of problems to solve, mainly insects and birds' attacks, too much sun and water shortage. We are working on solutions one by one (nets, barriers, shadow plants, water reservoirs). All kind of help is welcome, although we need mostly people with some experience in growing o...

Hello friends, we are Sadí and Jacqi a couple from Perú and Germany. We live here with our little daughter Sami and Sadis brother Leo who has joined our project about a year ago. After several years of traveling, volunteering, helping out and learning in many beautiful projects & communities, we have settled down in the rainforest of Perú and are now happy to be able to receive volunteers ourselves :) About 3 three years ago, we bought this piece of land which includes about 56 hectares, in the region of Ucayali The area has suffered a lot from deforestation by the coca leaf production and cattle industry which left the soil very depleted due to the intense use of chemicals. the forests need our support (cutting vines preventing trees from growing, opening up the water ways of the rivers that are blocked by wood, vines and much more...) to be able to recover strongly and healthily. Our vision for this place is to help the local ecosystem to recover its natural balance, establish ...

We are located in the mid of the Atlantic Rainforest about 120km away from Rio deJaneiro city. Our project started 15 years ago and building work is still going on but there is an end in sight, the vegetable garden and orchard are in good shape but need a caring hand all the time. Our reforestation project is concluded; we planted 2500 native trees of the Atlantic Rainforest on a hill where cattle were grazing in the past. The concept includes trails in order to facilitate the planting and maintenance of the trees. Along the trails we planted plenty fruit trees. There are several buildings where we live on our land. The kitchen is communitarian; we usually take turns for preparing the lunch. We cook vegetarian and try to use as much as possible what we can grow on our land. We have chickens, dogs and cats that live with us and we need a hand with them too. We usually can provide a room with private bathroom. We don’t have cell phone signal nor land line telephone but we have In...

Our dream is to create an egalitarian intentional community of 100–150 people in Peru, inspired by Twin Oaks in the USA and Tamera in Portugal. In this blog, we’ll share our plans and what we’re learning, inviting others to join us in our search for a different way of life. We’ll work to minimise inequalities between our members (e.g., based on economy, class, race, age, and gender) and create a space for personal and collective transformation, cultivating healthier, more intimate, and more honest relationships. We’ll start from our shared needs and potential as human beings, building a regenerative culture in which we can live more fully while protecting our environment. Right now we're setting up businesses to generate income for the project, with a focus on soaps and cosmetics, and we'd love to teach you what we've learned so far! We have a small garden and a couple of ongoing construction projects (a composting loo and an outdoor shower). We would also welcome help with making th...

Our team is growing, and we need volunteers like you to support our students, especially by practising conversation and improving their pronunciation. Volunteering at our learning centre is a chance not only to make a real difference in our students’ lives, but also to join a community that believes in education as a force for change.

We are a young family that, in the beginning of 2020, left the city life behind to start a green self-experiment in a countryside in Brazil. As we follow the Permaculture principles, our goal is to learn together, share our experience, produce food and enrich the biodiversity of the land. We are a family of four, but we have two people working here as well. We speak Portuguese, English, Dutch, German and Latvian (Lettish). This volunteer program is a real hands-on experience in agroforestry and organic farming. Also, it is a way to stay away from the hectic world, live in an international community and reconnect with nature. Exchange: We ask for USD$10 per day for a comfortable accommodation and food for the week. As a volunteer within our volunteer program, you will stay in the newly renovated and very comfortable guest house. Hello! My 4-year-old boy, Julian, and I live in a 50 year old cozy cabin with, part of a very good friend's property up in the hills in Samaipata, 8 minutes walking from the main plaza. You’ll have Julian’s room with a shared bathroom. We are Bolivian, but we speak English at home. I like the idea of Julian being comfortable connecting with other people while traveling and normalizing language learning as an everyday thing, not just something that happens at school. How can you help us? You must love kids. While I work remotely, for 3-4 hours a day, you’ll have to play, paint, DYI stuff and practice or teach Julian a few words of your own language. Some days he has activities which you can just take him or join him as they include painting, ceramics, playing, etc. You’ll clean what you use and contribute to our Montessori intended lifestyle for Julian. I don’t cook, but if you do, I’ll cover the vegetarian groceries. You are also welcome to join Julian and I to different exploring act...

Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We’re a mature couple who work in the city and live on a small farm - a peaceful retreat from the urban rush. Our companions are a few horses and dogs.

We are located in the Ecuadorian Amazon, within a protected primary rainforest area, surrounded by jungle, rivers, and abundant wildlife. It is a remote, natural location for people who want to experience the Amazon in a simple and accessible way. Accommodation is provided in independent jungle cabins with private bathrooms and access to a shared kitchen. There are single, double, and triple rooms available. The lodge does not provide meals. Guests must bring their own food. Food is inexpensive in Ecuador and can be purchased in Pañacocha, approximately 45 minutes away, or brought from El Coca before arrival. In addition, jungle fruits, plantains, yuca, and fresh fish from the river are often available. Access to the lodge is by river. Travel from El Coca is done using the scheduled canoe service.
