I live in a beautiful part of New Zealand and love meeting new people, but would also like a little hand on the land due to my age. I’m very fit and healthy. I am half Czech Republic and half NZ maori and proud of both cultures. I like to live quietly and have a wide range of age group friends. I do live off grid but I also have I minimal amount of solar or run the generator at times. I live about a 5 minute walk to one of the beautiful beaches.

I am available to host a couple during the period from Sunday 12/07 till Sunday 03/08 for a week as i don’t have that much work to do - if these dates fit in with you let me know Hello! I’m Sonja, an active retired grandmother . I’m seeking a vegetarian or vegan couple to assist with gardening and deep cleaning my spacious three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse, nestled in a cozy complex of just four townhouses . My home has a lush tropical garden with a small Balinese-style outdoor pavilion and a serene outdoor bath. It backs onto vacant land and is a short stroll from a beautiful beach with porcelainite rock platforms and cliffs. A quick five-minute bike ride brings you to the stunning East Point Coastal forest Reserve, home to a community of wallabies, and close to a pristine mangrove boardwalk and saltwater lake. Fannie Bay offers easy access to Darwin’s city attractions and waterfront. I can offer a spacious spare room equipped with a new air conditioner and a private b...

**** CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A COUPLE ONLY - HAVE TO HAVE THEIR OWN TRANSPORT **** I live ~80km outside of Darwin, close to Batchelor and Litchfield national park, so working hours can be flexible and arranged to fit in with your sightseeing needs. I'll be looking at 4-5 hours of work per person per day in exchange for food and accommodation. Currently needing help with restoring a garden project. This involves cleaning up garden beds, putting out hay, shovelling and distributing woodchip, fixing irrigation, moving heavy rocks around. This time looking for a couple only, as the work may be a bit physically demanding and right now I won't be able to accommodate pick up, so please have your own transport. Please reply on this site initially, so I can have a look at your profile, then any other questions or comments can be discussed preferably via email or Whatsapp. Cheers Belinda ***NOTE: CANNOT sign for 2nd year visa!***

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We are Liv (44), Thomas (49), Odin (8 years old) and Ida (1 year old).  We live on a small, 300 years old farm in south east Norway outside Rena village by the Glomma river. The farm has been more or less in-active for more than 40 years before we started reestablishing it as an active self sustained farm 8 years ago. Our philosophy is based on regenerative and permaculture practices and principals. Our project is to become fully self sustained and to live a life in co-creation with nature. Today we have some pigs, sheep and lambs, hens and chickens and some bees. The vegetable production will increase spring 2025. Our wish is to find someone that would like to do a long term stay (4-12 month), but we are also open for shorter stays (min 3 weeks). We would really need some extra hands from April until November 2025 with main focus on the vegetables field and the animals. Summer also means securing winter feed for the animals, planting, weeding and harvesting vegetables, harvestin...

My name is Balázs, I am 29. I really love nature. We live next to a beautiful small village, called Csesznek, in a farm with my, my father, volunteers and with lots of animals. We have a tourist hostel, a stable, in a big land with pasture, forest, spring, lake and lots of love in our heart. What we need more? We have everything. :) There is a big forest around us, called: Bakony. This region is hilly with lots of beauty. The village is famous from an old castle in the top of the settlement. Lots of tourist came here to enjoy the nature, make trips and relax. This year the spring starts earlier, so we have lots of things to do in the garden and around the house. What we need: -We built up my home, when you are interested in natural building, you are in the best place. This is a small straw bale house. At this moment I already live in the house. We work with finishing the clay doing some art with it and we do some furniture from wood. And we do a winter garden, from glasses. We use o...

* We have availability from 24th August until the beginning of October. If those dates work for you, then read on ... My husband and I live in a beautiful, listed, 100 year old house in a lovely part of Scotland. We are surrounded by rural countryside, but well located for exploring much of Scotland and are walking distance from the small rural town (more like a village) of Alyth which has shops, cafes and a good bus service. There are lovely walks from the house as well as further afield and we can lend a bike to use for exploring. Both Dundee and Perth are easy to reach on the bus, with St Andrews just a little further away, also accessible by public transport. Wildlife in the area include red squirrels (in the garden), deer, beavers and ospreys. Our house was a project when we purchased it in 2018, so to help finance the extensive renovations and ongoing running costs we run part of the house as a holiday cottage/self-catering annex and have 2 additional rooms in the main house w...

Our 164-acre ranch is located halfway between the Pacific Coast and the Rocky Mountains, right on a beautiful wilderness lake in the Nicola Valley. We lie in the heart of British Columbia’s big Ranching country and are surrounded by vast forests, rolling hills and boundless prairies where beavers, bears, moose and pumas still roam. Even a small herd of wild horses calls the area around Glimpse Lake their home. As "Private Cowboy and Country Club" we are offering services like property maintenance, boating, fishing, restaurant/bar, accommodations, etc. to our Ranch Residents and members only. Summer or winter, there’s always loads to do with a small herd of Black Angus cattle, miniature goats and chickens like mucking out and maintaining stalls, paddocks and fields. Calving season is particularly busy but also a very heart-warming time of the year with help needed caring for newborns and on occasion bottle feeding them. However, you do not need to have experience with animals to vo...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

(Note for U4U applicants -- we cannot sponsor any refugees from Ukraine at this time, but we are happy to host you if someone else can sponsor you.) ~Our Place~ We live on a beautiful piece of land in rural Texas, full of lush green hills, towering pines, oak savannahs, and wild animals, about 1 hour's drive from Austin. Our goal is to build a community out here, starting from our extended family and friend group and beyond. We've traveled the world volunteering, hitchhiking, Couchsurfing, playing music in bands, farming, building, protesting, yogaing, truck-driving, teaching... all kinds of things. Now, we're trying to restore this piece of land to a more balanced state and to build a home, a farm, an apiary, a studio... We want this to be a place that fosters creativity, closeness to nature, silence, loudness, peace, chaos, etc.! And we've hosted volunteers from Colombia, Iran, Canada, China, Mexico, Iraq, USA, Korea, Spain, Bulgaria, Brazil, Denmark, Zimbabwe, Japan, France, Germ...

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old Cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week in an awake household. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivation ...

After nice few months wandering in the mountains enjoying green grass, the sheep will have to go back to the warmth of the barn! So, from mid-September to mid-October, we’ll need volunteers to hike/run after them in the mountains. It’s hard work, the days can be long, but so satisfying to follow a flock of sheep going back home. As much as resting your legs in the hot tub after a long hike ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message! You can also message the farmer directly via the Facebook link below, named after Beggi the farmer's cat! Profile picture is of a cat as well! Where to start? We are a family in the western part of Iceland, at the gates of the Westfjords, Beggi runs the sheep farm. We have more than 500 sheep and all possible trouble that can be connected to sheep: fixing fences in the summer, gathering sheep in the autumn, feed them and shear them in the winter and then lambing season in spring. ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Hi. Thanks for looking at our host profile. This is what we are about in a nutshell: We are about inner peace for a compassionate world. You will be helping us to prepare this place for residential retreat and short break visitors to open fully in 2026. We will be hosting well-being, personal-development, meditation and similar groups as well as some guests who are holidaying in the area. It will be run as a community interest company. During this Summer / Autumn 2025 we are doing a lot of internal building work [taking down and building new timber stud walls, putting plaster boards up] and decorating [painting walls]. So plenty of opportunity to increase your practical skills and gain experience in renovating. We will put a green house up, preparing the grounds for a work shed and there is always some strimming to do, We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness. We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it he...

My name is Esperanza, I run a language school. I'm looking for an easy going native English speaker to help us with conversation classes and different activities. It is a great educational project where we aim to develop students interest in the language in a natural way. We live in a nice area surrounded by mountains, our house is big , so we recently started an online rental program to meet new people from all over the world. The language school is 8 minutes away on foot from our house. I live with my son, Mikel, who is a university student. While you stay with us, you will be able to take part in lots of activities. Zalla is a town with lots of facilities where you can do nearly everything you can imagine. If you are interested in learning Spanish, we will be more than happy to help you! We live 20 minutes from Bilbao in a lovely town called Zalla. There is a good bus/train service to Bilbao. Volunteers also can visit, Santander, San Sebastian, Burgos, Pamplona either of these ci...

Due to a couple of last minute cancellations - we now have openings from May 24 onwards. Hello and welcome :) This is a lovely and peaceful place surrounded by five national parks. Here is something what to expect: The first priority is housekeeping but after that is done there are a lot of other jobs including fire wood gathering and splitting, starting the nightly campfire, yard work (lawn cutting, maintaining paths), repairs and some building projects. The hours are 9:30am to 3:00 pm including the lunch break. We provide 3 meals per day and accommodation. Accommodation is in the staff cabin with 2 bunk beds, in a large 'cabin tent' with 2 beds or in a bunkie. The tents offer more privacy and have access to the washrooms in the staff cabin and laundry cabin. Linens and towels are provided. Do you want to spend some time in the Canadian Rockies? Looking to explore some of Canada's most stunning scenery? We are 25 minutes to Glacier National Park; 30 minutes to Yoho Ntl...

Hey, hello you ! We are Caro and Chris, Zion and Kiara. We were travelling around the world since a gorgeous time until all this virus craziness happened. Caro, then Chris & Caro were backpacking, doing hitchhiking, etc... The beautiful wildlife. Then kids arrived in 2017 and 2019 so we mainly stayed travelling in Europe by van until they will be able to carry a little backpack ;) When the virus arrived, we were crossing Sweden. Everything became complicated with borders, shops and people so we decided to enjoy the strange time to build our home. We bought an over 300 years old stone house on a big peace of land which were abandoned and this new adventure started. Bretagne is a nice place full of culture, traditions, nice villages, forest and legends and history, and surrounded by the sea. After being helpers ourselves, we now want to be hosts too. We loved it so we expect people love it here too. Our kids are homeschooling with mainly their mother and we would be happy to have Eng...

My name is Selly and I am the founder of an association. I live in the city of Morogoro in Tanzania, where I was born. I founded this association 4years ago with the aim of promoting access to education for children,Youth and-women in my country and hometown. Unfortunately, although Tanzania has exceptional wildlife and culture, access to education is marked by significant inequalities. Approximately 3.5 million school-age children and adolescents are not enrolled in school, and nearly 30% of children aged 5 to 14 are working, 94% of whom are in the agricultural sector. Additionally, child labor still affects approximately 4.2 million children aged 5 to 17. Schools for children aged 5 to 18 are fee-paying and often too expensive for the poorest families, which significantly reduces their chances of accessing education. If you wish to get involved in our project, you are welcome, whether it be for the short or long term. For the past two years, we have regularly welcomed volunteers ...

My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors, and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect to answer all their questions, pose for pictures, and be invited...

We live on a semi rural farming property of 52ha overlooking the Waitemata harbour with views of Waiheke, Rangitoto and the Skytower, 30 mins south east of Auckland City. We are two minutes from the beach and there are several walks and cycling tracks nearby. We mainly farm sheep and also keep bees. You would be living as part of our family and are welcome to join in with any social events and activities, in particular fishing and boating. We have 3 adult children, and three grandchildren as well as three dogs and a cat. As a family we all enjoy meeting people from different cultures and forging connections with them and now have lifetime friends around the world. You can help us with gardening, landscaping, painting, building bee apiaries, planting natives (Autumn) and general housework and maintenance. It would be for a maximum of 4 hours a day which will leave plenty of time to explore the local area.

Hello dear helpers, Several years ago, we bought a small farmhouse in northern Germany. By now, 12 people and several animals live here. We were fortunate enough to take over the neighboring organic farm, where two gardeners grow vegetables. A few years ago, we rescued 3 pigs from the slaughterhouse, and they now also live with us. In September 2024 three Piglets were rescued from their cruel fate and instead came to our Sanctuary. "We" are Volker (42) and Louise (39). Volker builds and sells ecological tiny houses, and Louise works in healthcare. We love cooking, making music, painting, playing board games, and both have been living vegan for many years. We also have two old dogs and a cat and a big heart for animals. We would appreciate help with the everyday tasks here on the farm. This could include mowing the meadow, gardening, building fences, caring for and planting trees, doing manual work, taking care of the pigs and sometimes helping in the organic farm. For our helpers...

Why not join us to experience this paradise for yourself? Mature couples (or 2 friends), with a little life experience and a positive work ethic will love what we have to share with you. We are happy to make plans in advance. Our dreamy, green 9 acres (3.6 hectares) are very close to the New Plymouth City centre. Mt Taranaki and Egmont National Park, with stunning mirror lake walks, which catch the reflection of our mountain (maunga) in the water. This walk is just at the end of our street. This is a rich arts and culture area - with hip cafes, galleries and restaurants. There are many amazing outdoor activities. We often walk our dog on our excellent surf beach, across the very beautiful Te Rewa Rewa Bridge (famous on Instagram), and along the coast walkway. A lot of our guests hire a surfboard and wetsuit and spend a day catching waves. Even though we are unbelievably close to everything you might want, our place is quiet, peaceful and rural. You will enjoy the best sleeps ever! W...

We have more than 500 sheep and all possible trouble that can be connected to sheep: fixing fences in the summer, gathering sheep in the autumn, feed them and shear them in the winter and then lambing season in spring. ...

Minimum 2 weeks stay! We are now accepting helpers from May 1st. for the 2025 season. We need help with firewood making this spring along with establishing the vegetable plot for the season. Hello! :-) We are Hanne 54, Kjetil 56 and Ferno 2 (dog). We have resently relocated to our new farm situatet in the lovely hills of Gausdal, a valley just Northwest of Lillehammer. We are looking forward to developing the farm to support us with all of our needs, energy (solar and hydro), food (vegetables and livestock) and building materials from the forrest. We have had the pleasure of the company of helpers on our previous farm on the westcoast of Norway and we would like to continue that tradition in our new location. We are looking for helpers with special interest in forrestry work, logging, firewood making, cooking, trditional woodworking and wood/timber construction this coming winter. I (Kjetil) have already started felling trees for timber and firewood making. I am also in the proc...
