Stay with us by a beautiful lake, wake up to the sound of birds, enjoy the sunrise from our beach, disconnect from the noise, become more sustainable, feel the essence of nature and climb the volcano where we live. We are looking for self-sufficient and collaborative individuals to join our team of four volunteers dedicated to maintaining and guarding the property. We offer a straightforward exchange: your work in return for food. If you value independence, don't mind routine tasks, love being surrounded by nature and embrace a self-directed way of living, this could be the perfect fit for you! Hello! My name is Hugo and I live on the slopes of San Pedro volcano in Guatemala, in a wild and truly isolated area of Lake Atitlan, accessible only by water. There are no roads, no close neighbors and no noise. Just pure nature, the songs of birds and a stunning beach. I’m on a journey to build a home in this paradise. Most of the time, I share this space with volunteers, some chickens, a c...

Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (3yrs) and Emmie (1yr). We are looking for 2 people to help us. One can help to look after our daughters and help around the house and the other person can help Alex on the farm. We are relaxed and flexible. E.g: if you want to take a day off to check out Castlepoint beach or go to Martinborough to the vine yards we are more than happy for you to do that. You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I ...

Please come & help !... We are a couple : Luc and Martine, both of us are French, but we do understand and - at least as far as Martine is concerned - speak English fluently. Luc has been recently retired but is still very active on his land producing on a smaller scale but still taking care of the remaining surface. We've been welcoming WWOOFers and "Help exchangers" for the last 40 years and are happy to carry on doing so (though not as many as before...), as Luc still needs a lot of help, especially that now he has no more employees. On the property we have 1 pet : 1 "outsider" female cat, Lily, Luc has been passionate about organic gardening ever since his youth and has been an organic farmer in Burgundy since 1980. Before Burgundy, he went to work 2 and 1/2 years in Burkina Faso for the Cooperation. Martine, after having lived in England, the States and in Canada as finally join Luc since 1988. She's a fervent Catholic, amongst other things, she blesses the meals and goes to ch...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

Hey you ! Do you want to come and spent some nice time in wild Transylvania ? It's a place where the time has stopped and rural life isn't a fake touristic attraction but beautiful hard reality. My house and grounds are located in the hills nearby Bradetu village, 750m up in the Carpathian Mountains by the foot of the highest part - Fagaras. The environment is a healthy variation of forest and prairies, streams and rivers blooming with (sometimes rare) life. The air is clean, fresh and the night skies are glorious. *Home My home is an eco-friendly straw bale construction. Clay was used for the finishing of the straw walls and interior walls. The floor of the attic was filled with sheep's wool. You will have one big room with spectacular views all around. Sanitation is basic because of no running water. In the house is a dry toilet using sawdust, bath and wash-basin. Inside the house you can find mobile signal out mostly only weak, wifi connection. The sun gives us enough electricity...

Love to host a strong guy or 2 that have some gardening/farming experience and/or has carpentry skills that's keen to help out around the property and also spend some boating trips, catching barramundi, crocodille spotting, trolling the islands and snorkeling...July/august/september is our main time to enjoy time on the water as its the Humpback whale and fish migration season so we would prefer folks that have an interest in boating/fishing and happy to tie their own fishing knots and set the anchor and dont get sea-sick.... Fish and home grown tropical vegetables form the basis of our diet during this tme of year so this adventure may not be for everyone..... Volunteers can use their time here to sign off for 7 days a week towards their 88 days 2nd or 3rd year visa sign off and we have helped many backpackers secure a second/third year visa as we are registered primary producers in the correct postcode for "disaster relief",. Please make sure you let us know you are looking to get...

HI HELPERS!!! WELCOME TO JOHN`S FUN FACTORY!!! BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. I have been a volunteer host for 18 years and I have had more than 1700(Yes!!!you read it correctly!) fabulous, lovely, wonderful volunteers stay with me. Many of them have come back for second, third…or even 10th visits!!!!! Work can be really diverse including tree planting, mowing grass, helping to install forest fire...

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana. Lukcly, in 2020 Rui, Rita's brother, decided to jo...

LAST MINUTE HOST !!! Help me finish renovating a traditional farm house with a big garden and forest (two wells) and upcoming vegetable garden in Central Portugal! My name is Laura, I am 57 years (young) and from Germany. I have bought a beautiful old farmland of 12,000 m² (own forest) with two wells, a large stone house plus annex and two little ruins in the center of Portugal (near Ferreira do Zêzere) that is almost completely renovated. Even though I have (had) professional building companies there still quite some DIY things left to make it a cosy home. Having been a helper for one year of travel around the world a few years ago myself I now would appreciate some help with my own project (for details see below). I would describe myself as an experienced hosts having had more than 35 helpers/guests (different platform). :-) Enjoy the quiet and the nature! Enjoy a good flow of energy in the house, garden and own forest. You might get your hands (and clothes) dirty though... Plea...

Come and learning how to play with the plants. We are looking for apprentice/ helpers from now until the end of November (weather dependent). We prefer helpers who can stay for at least 8 weeks, though depending on our needs and the time of year we will consider a shorter stay. We are a small market garden, providing vegetables, berries, herbs and edible flowers to our Local food Co-op, a retail farmers market, restaurants and families in the Nelson area. My husband and I have been running the market garden for 13 years. Gardening experience is not essential; we prefer a desire and willingness to learn. There is room for your inspiration and creativity here. If you have an interest in guiding and teaching others you can take on various challenges in the leaderships aspects of the garden operation. We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three active children, two horses, many chickens, and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience email us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve second year visas)

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, physically fit, want to get your hands dirty and love to be outdoors you will love it her...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON *Got a garden that needs cleaning up at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one old farmer, one dog, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek t...

Our property is set in the tranquil rain forest countryside known as Pomona. We are nestled only 20 minutes from Noosa and the wonderful beaches with some of the best views, walking tracks, and mountains to climb in the region . Our property is a relaxed environment with various activities that requires daily/weekly attention. From feeding the geese and horses each day to gardening and pruning and maybe a swim after a days work. We do not have any children to look after! Ideally, we would prefer people with travelling partners (Two Friends or Couples) as we feel that they are better suited to our type of place and keep each other company. (We would also like that at least one can understand and speak some basic English). Please note, email us your HelpX details before calling. But lets not forget our motto: Eat when you are Hungry, Sleep when you are tired and Drink when you are thirsty! We hope to hear from you soon !

We have a beautiful 6 hectare property in a really awesome valley. We have animals, a stream, lots of things growing. We have a large 3 bedroom house. We have a warm modern caravan for helpers to sleep in and all the other amenities are in the house. We have 3 awesome kids (only two live at home) and a great family vibe. We need help with working the land and making it as productive as we can. We need people who are hard working and take initiative. Prior experience is great but if you are a fast learner and up for a challenge then that is great too. A love of animals is definitely helpful as well. Projects include - gardening, building, organising, helping with animals, help around the house, fencing, tree planting and more. Cheers Regan and Lisa

On the 25th of August Lydia is going to visit her family, who she hasn't seen for 35 years, for 2 months. That leaves Alan on his own for 2 months and he would dearly love some company and assistance. If 1 or 2 of you lovely people would like to keep him company, please let us know. I have a vacancy from the 4th September until 25th of October, so if you would like to come anytime between those dates, please let me know as soon as you can. In addition to everything else, I would love someone who knows how to use Light Room and or Photoshop and would be happy to teach me. Hey good people, we would love 1 or 2 people to come and give us a hand. We are Alan and Lydia, a middle-aged couple being as self-sufficient as we can be. Solar power, rainwater, organic gardens, chickens, quail, 8 bee hives, 2 friendly dogs. The cooler weather is here and it's time to start getting things done. Like gardening, building more chicken pens, harvesting honey, some fencing (not much) hanging a couple of...

This is a very healthy warm dry desert climate, where viruses do not thrive. At our farm here in the Coachella Valley we grow 6 varieties of dates; Medjool, Barhi, Khadrawi, Khalas, Halawi & Zahidi....and we also have young plantings of Jamaican plums. Date harvest will be from July 15th then into early to mid-August, so we need help with picking then. Tasks include irrigation, pruning, picking, fertilizing, pollination, clean-up, compost, trenching, house cleaning, road repair. We clean our soaking pools regularly and the farm could use the help with PDF editor skills, an electrician, and also someone with adequate videography and editing skills and also automotive repair skills. The hot springs is located in a very remote setting in the Coachella Valley of the southern California desert about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Los Angeles, or 50 miles southeast of Palm Springs, just off highway 111, in the morning shadow of the Chocolate Mountains, overlooking the middle of the Salton Sea,...

Kia ora! I’m Cherie — a friendly, down-to-earth Kiwi mum of two, living just 5–10 minutes from the stunning Mangawhai surf beaches, bush walks, cafés, and weekend markets. After years of living on a larger self-sustainable farm, I’ve now relocated to a smaller home base where I’m building a simpler, slower, and more connected life — and I’d love a hand along the way! I’m a qualified naturopath, life coach and massage therapist with a deep love for nature, soulful conversations, organic gardening, emotional wellness, and conscious living. My two beautiful children keep life full, and while I juggle parenting and work, I welcome help around the home and garden to keep everything flowing. Help Needed: • General gardening and weeding • DIY projects or light building tasks • Property maintenance and painting • Childcare or play support • Animal care (we still have a few furry and feathered friends!) • Cooking, cleaning, or organizing if that’s your strength About Our Home: We share our s...

Hello everyone! My name is Bird, I was working in Chiang-Mai as a photographer for 2 years then decided to become a farmer and create a Thai traditional agriculture permaculture farm in 2018. I wish to create a relaxing place that allows people from all over the world to take their time to experience life in harmony with nature. I also have four water buffalo on our farm, named Tony, Laura, Hanna and Charlie. We are a local family with a desire to preserve our simple, sustainable way of life so that we can give back to and protect mother earth. Our farm is located in Pua city, 70km north of Nan province surrounded by the mountains and rice fields, in Northern Thailand. The farm is set on 1.5 acres of land with vegetable gardens, rice paddies, farm stay and pizza restaurant. Currently, we have done with natural buildings on the farm, including bamboo huts, fences, and wooden houses. “Life is better with a Buffalo” is our farm goal and “Happiness only real when shared “ is our motto. This is a beautiful property - and requires some ongoing general property maintenance. Jobs including gardening - weeding, mowing, trimming, mulching and some painting. The choock shed needs a bit of attention, nothing to major, just general upkeep really. I`d be happy to have you here, no smoking, drugs or alcohol. The property backs onto the beautiful Tarago River and has a variety of native bird life around. We are currently adding some new local plant life to the river block. For those wondering - there is plenty of space to park your RV and hook up to water and power! Longwarry North is in West Gippsland, its about 1hr 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD, about 1 hour from Philip Island and Wilsons Prom, at the foothills of the Strezlecki ranges and Mt Baw Baw. Some very beautiful country to explore around Gippsland. Your own vehicle is preferred.

We have availability for a helper from around 25th August for 2 - 4 weeks but with less farming than at other times of the year. We are looking for a female native French speaker who is good with children. Tasks will include playing with our children while teaching them French, housework, helping to prepare our Airbnb accommodation and possibly, some farmwork. We'd consider hosting 2 helpers at this time. Then, from mid-end of September, we are looking for help for the same tasks but there'll be more opportunity for farmwork. For this preiod, our preference is for stays of at least 6 weeks and for one helper. 🐑 🐎 We could also offer a stay to someone without farmwork, if that's preferred. 🐑 🐎 Helpers will work for 6 hours per day 5 days a week in return for food and accommodation. 🐑 🐎 🐎 🐑 Our farm is in the north-west of Ireland, in County Sligo. As well as horses and sheep, we have two alpacas, a pig, a dog, and some chickens! During the summer months, we provide English l...

Do you long to step away from the outside world for a while and immerse yourself in nature ? Then look no further as we are looking for helpers in our wee piece of Paradise at the moment ......... Our farm is 100 acres of deer-fenced land on the Otago Peninsula. The help we require is some basic garden maintenance, wood splitting, weed-eating etc. We are an animal besotted family with 2 horses, 2 cats, and 2 dogs (please NOTE we have retired drugs dogs so if you use even occasionally, whilst we are not judging you, please don't bother offering your services !). We need helpers who are energetic, honest, fun, caring, conscientious, can get on with jobs without requiring supervision and are not glued to a device!!! Some equestrian knowledge would be good (but not necessary) as you will be helping with the daily care of the horses. We are a working farm, so sorry but no pets thanks. A well loved place by previous HelpXers! In particular, we are looking for some HelpXers to stay with us to help with weeding and planting native seedlings on our paddock bank as part of a regeneration project. You need to be physically fit and willing to get your hands dirty! We can host up to four people - one double bed and a comfy bunk bed. In return we can offer a lovely newly renovated, private, self contained unit, three meals (help yourself to lunch and breakfast and together we can cook a delicious dinner, or enjoy it in your own accommodation.) Sometimes we are busy with the kids activities in the evening and so ill leave dinner in your accommodation to have when it suits. Am happy to work in with whatever dietary requirements you may have. A swimming pool, two friendly pigs, chickens, the coolest donkey and a goat and a sheep...are the stand out features of this idyllic 7 acre property 25min from central Auckland. We are a friendly couple and have an eight year old s...

Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. Now the winter of our discontent is ending, transformed into a glorious spring by this Galician sun; and ....sometimes, the clouds that darkened our home disappear into the deep heart of the flat lands.... So it's time to get to work in the garden and lay cement in some places. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 6 domestic geese, chickens, dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, plant...

Plea...

We usually only take couples (but have had single helpers before) as you can help each other out on ...
