My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, who we home-educated throughout their school years. Three of them are now married, and we have five grandchildren. Five of our now grown-up children are living at home - either still or again - our oldest son with his wife and 4 boys is living in our cottage, and another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. A friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove ar...

Hola todas! My place is an old grain mill with half a hectare of land. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted many volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Meditations, dancing, healing, massage, channeling, singing,....! Many communities of all sorts (hippy, midwives, subud, soefie). Hiking in all directions. Even skiing starting beginning of December. I try to keep a healthy environment, so no drugs that cloud your spirit. No dogs either. People mostly stay between one and two weeks. Work is about 5 days a week, 4 hours a day. Food and lodging included. Flexible. Work depends on peoples abilities. During summer months (June until September) I don't host because of high te...

Hello, I Luvertin or family of Mombracco e’ a farm born in 2016 from zero, we renovated an old building and built the first stable for our goats with our own hands, with sacrifice and dedication we have recovered abandoned land and we are still doing it. Over the years we have participated in development projects and have built a new stable and a new wooden building, we have built the dairy to produce cheese. We are now producing and selling our products. We'd love to find some of the people who can help us on our journey. We need to start over with a family garden, raising chickens for self-consumption. We need to expand spaces for the family that has grown up and for guests. Claudio is’ really skilled new manual labor and can't wait to pair him with a handsome man to teach him and build something beautiful! Our e’ family of Claudio and Jessica with 6 children aged 14, 12, 10, 8, 5 and 0! We live in a fabulous area of the COTTIAN Alps! Monviso in the Po Valley, on the Mombracco....

My friend bought this beautiful old farm in Bjarnarfjordur witch is in the west fjords of Iceland And the westfjords were selected as top destination in the world by Lonely Planet for 2022 No one has lived there for the last 20 years so there’s plenty of things to do Mainly it’s taking care of the eiderducks (put up flags and scarecrows to keep the artic fox and seagulls away from the area) The eider nests on small islands close to the farm so we will need to take a boat or a kayak and row to the islands After the nesting season we pick up the down that they left in the nest And another thing is feeding the rainbow trout that we will be farming in tanks on land Also we have to paint and fix the old house We have our own geothermal hole that produces lots of hot water Even though it’s seems remote it’s only 35km to the next town Hòlmavík where there’s a supermarket, bank and basically everything you need From June to October we are doing whale watching trips from Hólmavík and mo...

A small farm (5 hectares, half of which is forest) in a quiet green valley, 1 hour walk from the village. The railway station (7 km) is Fabro-Ficulle, halfway between Rome and Florence. (of course we' ll come fetch you at your train arrival!) Here live funny dogs (4 adults), all of them often in the house, and two cats too. Downstairs my Ceramic Studio, sometimes in need of some "housework". The things we need help with are ( according to the season) mow the lawn, pruning, collecting and chopping firewood ...but mainly rebuilding some order here and there, harvesting olives in late October, clearing, cleaning, painting, repairing, reinventing spaces and so on. In summer I am also engaged with the Thermal Park "Bagno del diavolo", it is a magic wonder place, and might need help with the pool to clean and other things . We cook creative healthy meals, mainly without animal products. Usually - as a guest- you have a self contained room (photo), but when it is engaged you' ll...

We are Ines and Stefan Grillmair living with our Kids Heidi (8), Nino (6) and Robin (4) at a small farm in Bachmanning, Upper Austrian countryside. We moved in this 400-year-old house in 2023, after a year of maintaining the main building. At the moment we have 5 sheep mowing the steep land in the back yard. We look forward doing some gardening and pasture work in 2025. For that reason, we definitely look for handy helpers that are used to work with tools and own hands. We stick to helpx recommended 4 hours of help per day, and appreciate self-responsible management on this. We are self-employed, our daily job is all about coffee. We are Barista, run shops in the City of Wels and Salzburg and work most days at home. We know HelpX from our Work&Travel experience in New Zealand, a decade ago. We enjoy being a Host now. Our House is located in the so called “Voralpenregion” which means, that it`s close to the Alps, especially Salzkammergut. By car or train you reach Gmunden (40 min)...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). I already have people helping me until the end of july, so I'm looking for someone from this period. Since 2017, I worked with a partner who left for other ventures at the beginning of this year, and I now work alone. We've already had several interns on our farm. I need someone to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: harvesting the spirulina, cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, communication, deliveries, farm tours, online or...

Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

Tena koe, nau mai, haramai ki Tokomaru Bay, a small, predominately Maori seaside community on the East Coast. We live on a four acre lifestyle block in the peaceful Kaiawha Valley about a two minute drive from the village and the beach. There is a 4 Square Supermarket, a cafe and a tavern in the village. We have a room with a queen bed in a sleep out, with helpers own separate lounge/kitchenette. Access to washing machine. The bathroom is inside the main house located a few metres away. Most of the work we require is gardening, landscaping, milking cow, feeding animals, preserving food, servicing our Bed and Breakfast (List 1 Historic Places building) firewood, weed eating, mowing and general maintenance. Jan is a teacher and does some casual relieving and Bill works from home developing Te Reo Maori learning resources for our local tribe and teaches Te Reo Maori one day a week. Both of us are involved in our community, at the marae and other activities. We think 'whanau' s...

Minimum Stay is 2 weeks. ESCAPE THIS MODERN MADNESS...become self-sufficient and self-reliant. Plan for future increasing restrictions. We are a couple from czech+uk lived here for 20+ years and have 110 acre almost self sufficient farm set in the jungle with nearly 1 mile of jungle riverside, three miles from Hopkins Village a wonderful Garifuna cultural beach village and 1/4 mile from main road via farm road. We call it DQfunnyfarm because of the strange things we have and fun things we do. 20 acres are left to jungle for flora and fauna, 5 acres for livestock, 2 acres tropical fruiting trees and shrubs over 30 different types, also local root crops, vegetables and various others from time to time depending on seed availability. The rest was last used as rice farm by previous owner and is now shrubland for future development. Livestock are dorper sheep,Brown swiss cows, tame and wild muscovy, Black bone chickens and other types, guinea fowl, rabbits, piggywiggy`s and four dogs...two...

Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of September 2026. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, self defense, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the lo...

Starting now. Please read the entire post before responding. Are you wanting to learn new skills? Work with cattle, chooks and horses in a beautiful landscape? As we are a working farm we prefer people who are interested in agriculture, it is nicer for you and us. Moderately good English is needed as we take safety seriously. We understand it is difficult to speak in another language and are happy to assist you to improve! Have fun, experience regenerative, biological agriculture and be part of enhancing the biodiversity of a patch of land, using organic, biodynamic, and biological techniques. A bit of house and garden renovation also. We ask for between 4 and 5 hours help per day. This can be very rewarding for the right people, there is something different every day! Staying here and helping us, will give you some farm experience and more confidence. You will learn heaps and your contribution is much appreciated. We are looking for a couple or two people travelling together for so...

Hello everyone. We urgently need help with the animals and some work on the farm... I had an accident two weeks ago and now have to get around with crutches and this will continue for 6 to 8 weeks.... So I really need one or two people to take care of the animals...My son does some work, but he has to leave early in the morning and come home late in the evening because of his studies...So that would be a valuable help to us.Ideally, of course, for 3 or 4 weeks, but if possible, just two weeks. This will also be a great help. Helping with partial construction of a small apartment on a farm. Wall assembly, electrical installation, plumbing and sanitary installation, some carpentry work .... The property is not far away from little town of Bletterans in the Jura. House and Farm in a very nice place close to ponds (étangs Vaillant). With animals (no big animal) in the property, geese, ducks, chickens, rabbits, barnacles, ponies, one donkey, birds, 🐓🐔🐦🐟🐸🐇🐈🦆🐎🐐... Need some help fo...

Kia Ora and hello helpers, We're Chris and Meri. We live on a little farm with some really beautiful rural views and with native birds & bush with a beautiful little bush stream that runs through the property where we're gradually planting and restoring the natural environment with many hundreds of native plants. We run a little flock of South Suffolk Sheep, we have some free Range Brown Shaver Chickens, Khaki Campbell Ducks (perfect eggs for baking!), we have a pair of very rare Cape Barren Geese and we also have a little fruit tree Orchard too. We enjoy good conversation, cooking and sharing good food (and favourite recipes) with others and your stay wouldn't be complete without experiencing a few of Meri's traditional yummy Indonesian styled dishes. We share making meals together and welcome helpers to help make some of the meals too 😋. As a Christian husband and wife couple, we're of course not perfect people but we do try to be kind, helpful to others that we meet and to b...

We are a family living in the beautiful village of Herand in the middle of Hardanger. We live close to the fjord and have an accounting firm and a software company that we live off of + some rental of beds in the summer. We have a small greenhouse and a small farm where we have some vegetables. Summer is a busy time and we need 2-3 positive people to help us with different work. We live by the harbour, and have a small farm 2 km away. We have boats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. You can use a cabin in the mountains if you wish. The area is well suited for walking or cycling. Normal working hours are 4-5 hours per day.

* Looking for a helper to join another next week starting 25th. End of feijoa harvest, weeding and mulching blueberries is the work we're onto * Accommodation is in the “blueberry cottage,' a self-contained flat that is across the lawn from our house. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining room, computer and wifi. I stock the kitchen with good ingredients and between those and the orchard goodies you assemble your own breakfast. We start at 830 and work for four hours. I make a big lunch at the house for everyone (lots of home made bread and cakes) and the afternoons/evenings are your own. I'll keep the larder stocked with whatever food you like, we don't eat much meat but can supply it. We have bikes for your use and are surrounded by wineries, or there's always a shady tree to nap under. Warning we do have insects, and in the summer picking time can't take helpers who are colourblind. For ease of booking we'd prefer if you can plan on coming and going on Mondays, one w...
