Hi there everyone, I am Mark and we are looking for people to help with our on-going farm project (based on a permaculture ideas): Working on our water system, in the fields and garden, fruit trees, looking after the sheep, ducks and chickens, our on going alternative energy source, and now just starting on the communal and private spaces that are to be rebuilt. etc...... We also work at local events with lights, electrics, compost toilet rentals and generally helping out, from the local may-poll dance to concerts and working in the theatre. The Key Word the Discribes the Farm is "Autonomy" (i feel that autonomous people can come together to create community) We are all individual cells in a greater growing expanding living organism called humanity, that is slowly coming to recognise itself as a whole and no longer separate and alone. Please note: for high maintenance people this is not for you. Be prepared for OFF-GRID in nature experience ! A Quick Note: The shower has bee...

Are you wanting to learn new skills? Work with cattle, chooks and horses in a beautiful landscape? Starting this week. Have fun, experience regenerative, biological agriculture and be part of enhancing the biodiversity of a patch of land, using organic, biodynamic, and biological techniques. This can be very rewarding for the right workers, there is something different every day! Working with us will set you up with farm experience and confidence. It's best if you are physically fit and willing. Moderately good English is needed as we take safety seriously. We understand it is difficult to speak in another language and are happy to assist you to improve! P...

I live on a 32 hectare property between Greymouth and Hokitika (most of which is native forest) with a view over the Taramakau river. The land and house need ongoing maintenance including gardening, gathering firewood, window cleaning, painting and clearing tracks. My preference is someone (or a couple) who have been raised in the countryside, strong, and capable with machinery. An international drivers licence would be a bonus. I like people who work hard, and are capable of doing so with limited supervision. At the moment I am clearing small stream areas and splitting and stacking firewood Usually I cook but may need help with some cooking from time to time. My children are grown up, and not living at home... In return for 4 hours work for every night you stay, I look after you well. The food is tasty wholesome farm cooking. Vegetarians are welcome, but for those with special diets should indicate when applying. Also i appreciate having a few days notice so I can shop!) You h...

Hey! We are a vibrant young family feeling proud of our dream and yet a little overwhelmed with how much there is to do! So we would love some help. We wish to create an organic forest garden and raise our children in a beautiful conscious way. Helpers will have their own accommodation in the barn cottage. It has a double bed and pull-out couch bed, private kitchen, bathroom, laundry, wood burner (wood provided) and fire bath, Wi-Fi. We ask for 12 hours a week from each person. And we are looking at providing organic bulk foods for some extra hours too. We live close to the magnificent Te Waikoropupu Springs (2min drive) and Pupu Hydro walkway. Town is 7min drive or 25min bike ride. We need help with child care (mostly just playing with them), housework (cleaning, laundry, food prep) and our Forest Garden project (range of tasks will probably include but not limited to are: clearing vegetation, felling trees, pruning, harvesting firewood, mulching, growing food, planting and inoculat...

Namaste! Welcome to our farm and family. We are established as small organic farmers with our parents since 1995, working with Himalayan Permaculture Center based in Surkhet (western part of Nepal). We are a permaculture family with two generation, three of us have our PDC but we are all invested in our land. We are five and three of us speak quite good English but our parent English is simpler, so you will learn some Nepali! If you want to discover the traditional Nepali lifestyle and learn about culture and festival in the Katmandu valley, and also in the same time learn and share your knowledge about permaculture, you are at the good place! Only fifteen minutes by taxi from Thamel (you can also come by bus). You are more than welcome in this nice place that looks like a village. On our land, we grow many different classic vegetables (Tomato, cucumber, peas, potato, onion, garlic…) and we also grow some cereals (wheat, rice…) using Fukuoka system(No Tilling Farming) and System of R...

We live on a semi rural farming property of 52ha overlooking the Waitemata harbour with views of Waiheke, Rangitoto and the Skytower, 30 mins south east of Auckland City. We are two minutes from the beach and there are several walks and cycling tracks nearby. We mainly farm sheep and also keep bees. You would be living as part of our family and are welcome to join in with any social events and activities, in particular fishing and boating. We have 3 adult children, and three grandchildren as well as three dogs and a cat. As a family we all enjoy meeting people from different cultures and forging connections with them and now have lifetime friends around the world. You can help us with gardening, landscaping, painting, building bee apiaries, planting natives (Autumn) and general housework and maintenance. It would be for a maximum of 4 hours a day which will leave plenty of time to explore the local area.

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term. I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. I am transitioning the farms to more of a communal space with plans for an ashram/yoga retreat in one of the houses. There are three acres of wild blueberries that I want to convert to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. I have a small herd of alpacas and an even smaller flock of chickens, whom I allow to free range. In the past, we harvested a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is to increase that slowly and steadily every year. Some of the new areas of activity that I want to undertake (once the right long-term partners/cohabitants are found) are: -bee-keeping (which will also help pollinate the blueberry field) -developing b...

I own a ranch located in the mountains of the Haute Gaspésie hinterland, it's windmill country, so the wind is almost omnipresent. It's hot in summer and cold in winter, with lots of snow. There's plenty of room for hiking or horseback riding, camping, lakes for fishing or water sports, and the St-Laurence river is less than 20km away... There are various jobs to be done throughout the year; daily care of animals, the haying season in summer as well as the vegetable garden, firewood in autumn (handling the chainsaw and splitter, driving the tractor and ATV) and building maintenance (mechanics) etc...the work is mostly physical... I can welcome you all year round, for 1 to 3 weeks or more if you wish. I live in an old farm house; Upstairs, there is a private bedroom but possibility of 2 as well as a bathroom/shower room for your privacy. The kitchen and the living room are at your disposal but I hope we can have all our meals together...after you stay, you will have learned enou...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7.30 am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dog and work starts at 8.30am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm b...

Hi, I`m Rich, by name anyway! I live 12km South from Takaka, on the side of the valley, with beautiful mountain and valley views, and a walk to a swimming hole at the river below. Since 2016 I am now running the whole property on my own, which is quite daunting, and having my 16 yr old boy about half the time. This means I really need independently capable guests! Guests share daily household life, cooking cleaning etc. Accommodation is in your own beautiful 5m diameter yurt. I have a tipi and yurt making business on the land, though this has it`s own workers so help is not needed there. I have to work at the business several days each week, so guests also have to be happy working alone sometimes ... I am not growing much veggies these days, but lots of fruit and timber trees. Outside physical work is varied land maintenance with creative building projects. I have need for someone experienced on a scrubcutting / brushcutting machine, and chainsaw experience is also a bonus ... Also ge...

This is an exciting project for us. We are guided by holistic management and permaculture principles in stewarding a Farm, Ranch, Campground, and Event Center in the beautiful Scott Valley of Northern California. The Scott River runs through the land as does Taylor creek. There are approx 100 acres of meadows, 10 acres of cottonwoods, and 210 acres of conifer forest. We manage our own irrigation systems using ditches and canals built in the 1860s. There are original cabins and an old RV park on the land. There is lots of work to do in all departments and we would love to have your help in exchange for a camp or rv site, and some shared meals. Our mission is a joyful, healthy abundant future through imaginative empowerment. We want to share our experience and learn from yours. Currently we manage a herd of 18 yaks, 12 goats and sheep, 30 laying hens and a guardian dog. These animals healthy lives are also making the soil healthier because we move them constantly, providing just t...

**Please note that we are currently just looking for a helper for June** Your time here counts towards the 88 days working visa requirements as we are in a declared natural disaster region. This is a certified organic macadamia nut orchard situated on 10ha in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. We can pick helpers up from Swanson train station, which is 6km away. Having your own transport would enable you to explore the beautiful west coast beaches. Bethells Beach/Te Henga is 10km further down the road. Helpers activities are seasonal, and may include harvesting macadamia nuts in winter; processing the nuts; shelter belt maintenance; firewood splitting; weed grubbing and minimal gardening. We work alongside helpers and show you what to do. Please be aware that orchard work is physical, you will get dirty and there could be a few bugs! We request an average of 4 hours help per night stayed in return for food and accommodation. So that is 28 hours per week. However we aim to have a day off each week by working 2 x 6 hour days, or an 8 hour day. We can usually be flexible and also consider our helper's wishes. Work starts at 9am. We have a separate co...

Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We are a couple, not young, work in the city, and live on a small farm. Our farm is not a business, but just a quiet cozy place to live away from the bustle of the city. Our pets are the few horses and dogs from the shelter. We got them in poor condition, with damage (the previous owners mistreated them). We have helped our animals to recover and now they are fine. - Hosting and food free. Accommodation - sea refrigerated container converted into a house. It has a gas stove, shower, etc. We also have a laundry room. We buy foodstuffs and you cook for yourself. - Help needed: gardening, animal care, general maintenance, some small DIY projects, farmstay help - We can teach you how to work with horses and dogs, how to take care of the garden, composting and preparation of various soil mixtures, ecological farming, finishing work, carpentry, plumbing, work with electric and gasoline power tools, etc. The main thing is that a person is interested...

Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. Now the winter of our discontent is ending, transformed into a glorious spring by this Galician sun; and ....sometimes, the clouds that darkened our home disappear into the deep heart of the flat lands.... So it's time to get to work in the garden and lay cement in some places. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 6 domestic geese, chickens, dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, plant...

We have lived on our farm for 4 years now, a 26 acre small holding in the beautiful south hams area of South Devon about 10 minutes drive to Dartmoor and 25 minutes to the beach and close to the amazing and very alternative and interesting town of Totnes. We are in need of a hand in getting things working efficiently- so many jobs and so little time! This could include helping to work on the old barn and make it into a better space to work in (any carpentry/building type skills would be amazing). Then we have poultry (chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese) and 40 pigs to look after/muck out/sort pens and houses plus lots to do in the vegetable area. We are attempting to build a lovely shapely toilet block for potential campers and need to erect a garden potting shed etc. etc. We would like to build a Cob and glass greenhouse (subject to getting planning approval) too so anyone who fancies building with cob would be welcome. The vision is to keep working with farming practices that supp...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

Hi there Traveler We are a gay couple (prefer like minded guys or at least open minded guys please) who offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

We live in a nature sanctuary on Corfu island in Greece. we are a COMMUNITY of PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMAN BEINGS, who try to live together IN THE SPIRIT OF NATURE. we are organized similar to a zen monastery. yet we are not affiliated to any religious body, but to the holy body of our mother earth. the earth takes care of us. the earth gives to us what we need. she gives us and she for-gives us – she never asks for money… we admire the communities in nature (ecosystems), where all members balance their needs and gifts in a healthy way, without money, without machines and without chemicals. here in NATURE’S SANCTUARY we try to live in harmony with nature. we try to support and protect all our nature brothers and sisters, who share this sanctuary with us… it is a CHALLENGE TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE. it is a challenge to protect and support all nature beings in a way, that they have the chance to live in their own natural born communities. we are looking for people, who want to tak...

Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. Check out our website if you need public transport. https://cairnhill.nz/read-this.shtml and you can email us anytime for help. GENERAL INFORMATION We grow most of our own vegetables.

We have lived on our farm for 4 years now, a 26 acre small holding in the beautiful south hams area of South Devon about 10 minutes drive to Dartmoor and 25 minutes to the beach and close to the amazing and very alternative and interesting town of Totnes.

We have good beaches and nice walks. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village.
